The standard methodology for the assessment of cultural heritage significance relies on hindsight, with a passage of time elapsed between the creation of the site or object and its assessment. There are, however, cases where heritage significance is instant (e.g., sites associated with the first Moon landing). This paper argues that hindsight will not be required to determine that the COVID-19 pandemic will come to be considered as a significant historic event, as COVID-19 has already manifested itself as a social, cultural and economic disruptor on a global scale with a mortality in the millions. Heritage professionals have the unique opportunity to assess and document places and structures associated with the pandemic, that are poised to be worthy of a heritage listing in the near future, while they are still in use and function as intended. This paper discusses the nature of the sites and structures and explores possible management approaches to safeguard evidence of the pandemic for future generations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article examines the response of the English heritage sector, in particular Historic England, to the impact caused by the initial lockdown and restrictions introduced to protect lives during the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK. This response, headed by the Heritage Sector Response Group, relied on effective cross-sector working in order to both make the case for targeted support for the heritage sector to the UK Government and to provide advice and support for organisations during the lockdown and the limited reopening of the economy which followed. This included gathering intelligence in order to understand the impact of restrictions on the sector, which was used to swiftly develop emergency grant schemes funded by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic England. The paper also considers the Historic England Heritage Online Debate around the impact of COVID-19 restrictions on the sector, which gathered case studies from across the sector to capture and share qualitative information. The paper then looks at other long term challenges facing the sector, such as climate change, and considers how a collaborative approach and lessons learned from the sector's response to the COVID-19 restrictions may provide models for building resilience for the future and developing solutions to other issues. COVID-19's significant impact on economic and social life has rightfully garnered the attention of citizens and policymakers alike. In response to the pandemic, governments have issued strict guidelines and restrictions to shut down some cities and many rural villages in China. With no cure or vaccine on the horizon, governments are working to mitigate the damage of the lockdowns on rural cultural village. Over the past two decades, rural village has been negatively impacted by terrorism, lack of funding and loss of population. COVID-19 has had similar effect, but in an incredibly short period of time. During the control period of COVID-19, traditional data are widely used in village protection and renewal. Collect and sort out the original data of Huizhou culture to prepare for the subsequent calculation. After the data is ready, the data is processed as the basis of mining its potential application value. In this paper, the key words of Huizhou cultural resources are summarized. The data analysis platform is established. This paper analyzes people's preference for Huizhou cultural resources.
