Abstract

The article discusses some legal issues on ethics and morality regarding the unconventional tactics of the U.S. government in response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. These tactics are the extraordinary rendition and targeted killing of suspected terrorists in foreign countries mainly in Afghanistan and Iraq as initiated by the Global War on Terror (GWOT) military operation. It suggests that in connection to international law and ethics, a scrutiny of the practices of extraterritorial seizure and killings from the perspective of the law of nations must be made.
