Hydrogen storage plays a fundamental role in the future hydrogen energy system, and carbon aerogel is one of the most potential hydrogen storage materials because of its high gravimetric and volumetric density on hydrogen adsorption. In this paper, the amorphous structure of carbon, obtained by a numerical simulation process by using the molecular dynamic and Monte Carlo methods, as well as the primary unit method, was intercepted as a sphere structure for numerical annealing to build a carbon nanosphere, which serves as the basic unit to reconstruct the carbon aerogel's skeleton by the Diffusion Limited Cluster Aggregation (DLCA) method. The hydrogen adsorption in carbon aerogel was simulated by using the self-coding parallel grand canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) method. The influences of particle diameter, density, temperature, pressure, and specific surface area on the hydrogen adsorbing capacity in carbon aerogel were analyzed in detail. Purpose: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the association between alcohol consumption and risk of erectile dysfunction (ED). Methods: PubMed was searched for reports published before June 2019. Data were extracted and combined odds ratios (ORs) calculated with random-effects models. Results: Finally, 46 studies were included (216,461 participants). The results of our meta-analysis indicated that there was a significant association between regular alcohol consumption and ED (OR 0.89, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.81–0.97). There was no indication of publication bias (Egger's test, p = 0.37). In the stratified analysis, the pooled OR of ED for light to moderate and high alcohol consumption was 0.82 (95% CI: 0.72–0.94) and 0.82 (95% CI: 0.67–1.00), respectively. No variable related to the source of heterogeneity was found in univariate and multivariate meta-regression analyses. A dose-response meta-analysis suggested that a nonlinear relationship between alcohol consumption and risk of ED was observed (p for nonlinearity <0.001). Conclusion: A J-shaped relationship between alcohol consumption and risk of ED was observed. Ammonia (NH3) is regarded as an important nitrogen oxides (NOx) precursor and also as an effective reductant for NOx removal in energy utilization through combustion, and it has recently become an attractive non-carbon alternative fuel. To have a better understanding of thermochemical properties of NH3, accurate in situ detection of NH3 in high temperature environments is desirable. Ultraviolet (UV) absorption spectroscopy is a feasible technique. To achieve quantitative measurements, spectrally resolved UV absorption cross-sections of NH3 in hot gas environments at different temperatures from 295 K to 590 K were experimentally measured for the first time. Based on the experimental results, vibrational constants of NH3 were determined and used for the calculation of the absorption cross-section of NH3 at high temperatures above 590 K using the PGOPHER software. The investigated UV spectra covered the range of wavelengths from 190 nm to 230 nm, where spectral structures of the A ∼ 1 A ″ 2 X ∼ 1 A ' 1 transition of NH3 in the umbrella bending mode, v 2, were recognized. The absorption cross-section was found to decrease at higher temperatures. For example, the absorption cross-section peak of the (6, 0) vibrational band of NH3 decreases from ∼2 × 10−17 to ∼0.5 × 10−17 cm2/molecule with the increase of temperature from 295 K to 1570 K. Using the obtained absorption cross-section, in situ nonintrusive quantification of NH3 in different hot gas environments was achieved with a detection limit varying from below 10 parts per million (ppm) to around 200 ppm as temperature increased from 295 K to 1570 K. The quantitative measurement was applied to an experimental investigation of NH3 combustion process. The concentrations of NH3 and nitric oxide (NO) in the post flame zone of NH3–methane (CH4)–air premixed flames at different equivalence ratios were measured. To understand the molecular and genetic mechanisms related to the litter size in one species of two different populations (high litter size and low litter size), we performed RNA-seq for the oocytes and granulosa cells (GCs) at different developmental stages of follicle, and identified the interaction of genes from both sides of follicle (oocyte and GCs) and the ligand-receptor pairs from these two sides. Our data were very comprehensive to uncover the difference between these two populations regarding the folliculogenesis. First, we identified a set of potential genes in oocyte and GCs as the marker genes which can be used to determine the goat fertility capability and ovarian reserve ability. The data showed that GRHPR, GPR84, CYB5A and ERAL1 were highly expressed in oocyte while JUNB, SCN2A, MEGE8, ZEB2, EGR1and PRRC2A were highly expressed in GCs. We found more functional genes were expressed in oocytes and GCs in high fertility group (HL) than that in low fertility group (LL). We uncovered that ligand-receptor pairs in Notch signaling pathway and transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) superfamily pathways played important roles in goat folliculogenesis for the different fertility population. Moreover, we discovered that the correlations of the gene expression in oocytes and GCs at different stages in the two populations HL and LL were different, too. Introduction: Alzheimer's disease (AD) and atherosclerosis (AS) are widespread diseases predominantly observed in the elderly population. Despite their prevalence, the underlying molecular interconnections between these two conditions are not well understood. Methods: Utilizing meta‐analysis, bioinformatics methodologies, and the GEO database, we systematically analyzed transcriptome data to pinpoint key genes concurrently differentially expressed in AD and AS. Our experimental validations in mouse models highlighted the prominence of two genes, NKRF (NF‐κB‐repressing factor) and ZBTB17 (MYC‐interacting zinc‐finger protein 1). Results: These genes appear to influence the progression of both AD and AS by modulating the NF‐κB signaling pathway, as confirmed through subsequent in vitro and in vivo studies. Conclusions: This research uncovers a novel shared molecular pathway between AD and AS, underscoring the significant roles of NKRF and ZBTB17 in the pathogenesis of these disorders. Cognitive impairment is a core characteristic of schizophrenia. Social isolation has been linked to impaired cognitive function among the general population. In this longitudinal study, we examined the association between social isolation and cognitive function among inpatients with schizophrenia. Two waves of data (2019 and 2021) were collected from chronic psychiatric wards. A total of 166 inpatients completed all measurements at baseline and follow-up. Social isolation was measured by incorporating the frequency of social contact and participation, while cognitive functions were assessed by the Taiwan version of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA-T). We used multiple linear regression to evaluate the link between baseline social isolation and cognitive function. For the total sample, social isolation was significantly related to poor language abilities (β = −0.17, p = 0.013) and delayed recall (β = −0.15, p = 0.023). Sex-stratified analysis showed that social isolation was significantly related to poor global cognitive function (β = −0.14, p = 0.021) and domain-specific cognitive functions including language abilities (β = −0.26, p = 0.003) and delayed recall (β = −0.19, p = 0.045) in male inpatients. No significant association was found between social isolation and global cognitive function or any cognitive domain (all p s > 0.05) for females. All associations were independent of loneliness and other covariates. These findings suggested that social isolation could predict poor subsequent cognitive function in inpatients with schizophrenia, especially in males. Spin valves (SVs) based on 2-D materials have garnered so much attention in the past decade. One of the major interests is the sake of getting a higher magnetoresistance (MR) ratio to facilitate industrial applications. However, miscellaneous effects are mixed in the obtained MR and the contributions of 2-D materials are not clearly distinguished even. In this article, we report the angle-dependent MR in WSe2 SV for different orientations of applied magnetic field. By setting reference samples with different structures, the contributions of anisotropic MR (AMR) and MR of 2-D materials are distinguished. The MR ratios generated by WSe2 show a monotonic decreasing trend with the increasing included angle between the direction of magnetic field and the length axis of bottom electrode Py. In this article we investigate the relations between the Gorenstein projective dimensions of Λ -modules and their socles for n -minimal Auslander–Gorenstein algebras Λ. First we give a description of projective-injective Λ -modules in terms of their socles. Then we prove that a Λ -module N has Gorenstein projective dimension at most n if and only if its socle has Gorenstein projective dimension at most n if and only if N is cogenerated by a projective Λ -module. Furthermore, we show that n -minimal Auslander–Gorenstein algebras can be characterised by the relations between the Gorenstein projective dimensions of modules and their socles. The relationship between serum BDNF levels and cognitive dysfunction in schizophrenia (SCZ) patients comorbid with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has not been reported. Hence, this study aimed to explore whether and how the changes of serum BDNF levels were correlated with cognitive impairment in SCZ patients comorbid with T2DM. We recruited 472 inpatients with chronic SCZ (54 T2DM and 418 non-T2DM), and 225 healthy controls. Serum BDNF levels and routine biochemical parameters were measured. Psychopathological symptoms were evaluated by the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) and cognitive function was assessed by the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS). SCZ patients with T2DM had significantly higher serum BDNF levels than SCZ patients without T2DM (F = 11.31, p = 0.001). SCZ patients with T2DM scored higher in delayed memory than SCZ patients without T2DM (77.17 ± 18.44 vs.66.24 ± 19.51, p = 0.000), and still showed significance after controlling for confounders. Further stepwise multiple regression analysis identified serum BDNF as an independent contributor to the RBANS attention of SCZ patients with T2DM (β = 0.30, t = 2.09, p = 0.042). Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) is a novel bunyavirus. Since 2007, SFTS disease has been reported in China with high fatality rate up to 30%, which drew high attention from Centre for Disease Control and Prevention and government. SFTSV is endemic in the centra l and eastern China, Korea and Japan. There also have been similar cases reported in Vietnam. The number of SFTSV infection cases has a steady growth in these years. As SFTSV could transmitted from person to person, it will expose the public to infectious risk. In 2018 annual review of the Blueprint list of priority diseases, World Health Organisation has listed SFTSV infection as prioritised diseases for research and development in emergency contexts. However, the pathogenesis of SFTSV remains largely unclear. Currently, there are no specific therapeutics or vaccines to combat infections of SFTSV. T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) is an aggressive and heterogeneous hematologic malignancy. Chemotherapy resistance and refractory relapses are the most important challenges in T-ALL. PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway has been implicated in regulating cell survival, T-ALL development and resistance to chemotherapy. We explored the effects of AZD5363 (a potent pan-Akt inhibitor) alone and in combination with autophagy inhibitor hydroxycholoroquine sulfate (HCQ) in cultured CCRF-CEM, Jurkat and PF382 cells and a T-ALL xenograft mouse model. A xenograft mouse model was used to investigate the effect of AZD5363 on T-ALL progression. MTT assay, flow cytometry, siRNA, transmission electron microscopy and western blotting were performed in cultured CCRF-CEM, Jurkat and PF382 cells. The interaction between AZD5363 and HCQ was explored by molecular docking. AZD5363 delayed T-ALL progression and increased the expression of cleaved caspase-3 and LC3B-II in mice. AZD5363 decreased cells viability by arresting cell cycle in the G1 phase and inducing apoptosis, and, significantly increased the number of autophagosomes (p < 0.01). The increased expression of cleaved caspase-3 and LC3B-II, and phosphorylation of Akt and mTOR were significantly, inhibited by AZD5363. HCQ blocked AZD5363-induced autophagy and enhanced AZD5363-induced cell death (p < 0.01). AZD5363 suppressed T-ALL progression and its anti-leukemia activity was enhanced by HCQ in T-ALL cells, which might provide a potential therapeutic strategy for human T-ALL. • AZD5363 delayed T-ALL progression in vivo, but the LC3B-II expression was increased. • HCQ blocked AZD5363-induced autophagy and enhanced the cell death in vitro. • Animal, cells and molecular docking was used to explore the role and mechanism of AZD5363 in T-ALL. • These results might provide a potential therapeutic strategy for human T-ALL. In this century, a disease caused by southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV) has resulted in significant loss in rice production in Asia. Aside from infecting rice plants, SRBSDV is transmitted by white-backed planthopper (WBPH) in a persistent propagative manner. Recent studies showed that SRBSDV can dynamically modulate the host cells throughout the infection progress. However, the expression dynamics of the SRBSDV genes during infection remain unclear. Here we established an absolute real-time quantitative PCR method to assess the dynamic of the SRBSDV genes expression in rice plants and planthoppers. Apart from displaying the expression levels of viral genes, we discovered that the expression level of viral genes in insects significantly surpasses that in plant cells. In addition, we identified two nonstructural proteins with unknown functions that exhibit the highest expression levels in plant and insect cells, respectively, which provide possible targets for restraining the disease outbreaks. • The gene expression level of SRBSDV is significantly higher in insect than in plant. • SRBSDV P5-2 is most abundantly expressed in rice plants at the early infection stage. • P9-2 is the most highly expressed SRBSDV gene in the vector insects. This paper presents an innovative design for replaceable shear links, incorporating a variable cross-section that emphasizes concentrated plastic deformation in the energy-dissipating region. The design employs fully bolted connections involving non-energy-dissipating components, enabling both efficient elastic design and focused plastic behavior. To evaluate the seismic performance of this variable cross-section replaceable link, three section configurations were developed for cyclic loading tests: a low-yield-point (LYP160) specimen with an unchanged energy-dissipating region, a Q235 steel specimen with circular holes in the energy-dissipating region, and a Q235 steel specimen with elongated holes in the same region. Experimental results emphasize that plastic deformation is primarily localized in the energy-dissipating region, with failures characterized by buckling and tearing around the region's holes. Notably, the low-yield-point specimen exhibits an overstrength coefficient of up to 3.65, displaying a complete hysteresis curve, exceptional energy dissipation capacity, and a plastic rotation of 0.18 rad. Conversely, the elongated-hole specimen demonstrates notable overstrength exceeding 1.70, but its energy dissipation is compromised due to the weakened section. In contrast, specimens with circular holes exhibit an initial elastic stiffness similar to low-yield-point steel specimens, outperforming elongated-hole specimens by around 84% in stiffness. Additionally, a two-stage design method for bolted connections, accounting for bolt slip, is proposed. Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a medically induced movement disorder that occurs as a result of long-term use of antipsychotic medications, commonly seen in patients with schizophrenia (SCZ). The study aimed to investigate the relationship between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the CNR1 gene, TD and cognitive impairments in a Chinese population with SCZ. A total of 216 SCZ patients were recruited. The participants were divided into TD and without TD (WTD) groups using the Schooler-Kane International Diagnostic Criteria. The severity of TD was assessed using the Abnormal Involuntary Movement Scale (AIMS). Cognitive function was assessed using the Repeatable Battery for Assessment of Neuropsychological Status (RBANS) scale. Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium tests, chained disequilibrium analyses and haplotype analyses were performed using SHE-sis software. To explore the main effects of TD diagnosis, genotype and cognitive function, as well as interaction effects, analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was employed. The prevalence of TD was approximately 27.3%. Significant differences were observed in the rs806368 CT genotype and rs806370 TC genotype within the hypercongenic pattern between the male TD and WTD groups (OR = 2.508, 95% CI: 1.055–5.961, p = 0.037; OR = 2.552, 95% CI: 1.073–6.069, p = 0.034). Among TD patients, those carrying the rs806368 CC genotype exhibited higher limb trunk scores (p < 0.05). Moreover, there was a statistically significant difference in visuospatial/construction between the TD and WTD groups (p = 0.04), and a borderline significant difference in visuospatial/construction when considering the interaction between TD diagnosis and genotype at the rs806368 locus (p = 0.05). Psychologically aggressive parenting (PAP) exposure negatively affects children's development of aggression. Nevertheless, not all children exposed to PAP display aggressive behaviors. Sympathetic nervous system (SNS) activity may influence the impact of early adversity on aggression. This study examines whether SNS reactivity and sex moderate the link between psychologically aggressive parenting (PAP) during childhood and later aggression. Emerging adults (N = 182, mean age = 19.03 years, 53 % female) retrospectively reported on their childhood PAP and current aggression. Salivary alpha-amylase (sAA) collected from a social stress task indexed SNS reactivity to stress. Childhood PAP was associated with emerging adulthood anger, hostility, physical, and verbal aggression. Moreover, males were more likely to exhibit anger, verbal, and physical aggression and had higher levels of sAA reactivity than females. A significant three-way interaction between childhood PAP, sAA reactivity, and sex accounted for participants' current verbal aggression. The link between childhood PAP and later verbal aggression was stronger for males at higher levels of sAA reactivity. Females with higher levels of sAA reactivity displayed lower levels of verbal aggression regardless of PAP exposure. Males and females with lower levels of sAA reactivity were at elevated risk for verbal aggression regardless of PAP exposure. Moreover, we found a significant two-way interaction between PAP and sex on anger, such that higher levels of PAP exposure were associated with more anger among males, but not females. • We design an EEG experimental paradigm for the diagnosis and grading of patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy, which is a novel clinical diagnostic measurement method. • This paper proposes a deep learning network based on CNN-LSTM for classifying patients and healthy individuals. The network intelligently fuses EEG features of various frequency bands using CNN. Compared to traditional EEG decoding models, it achieves better classification results. • This paper introduces a CNN-BiLSTM-attention network that integrates the attention mechanism into CNN for grading CSM conditions. The network achieves superior performance compared to traditional EEG decoding networks. Cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) is the most severe type of cervical spondylosis. It is challenging to achieve early diagnosis with current clinical diagnostic tools. In this paper, we propose an end-to-end deep learning approach for early diagnosis of CSM. Electroencephalography (EEG) experiments were conducted with patients having spinal cord cervical spondylosis and age-matched normal subjects. A Convolutional Neural Network with Long Short-Term Memory Networks (CNN-LSTM) model was employed for the classification of patients versus normal individuals. In contrast, a Convolutional Neural Network with Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory Networks and attention mechanism (CNN-BiLSTM-attention) model was used to classify regular, mild, and severe patients. The models were trained using focal Loss instead of traditional cross-entropy Loss, and cross-validation was performed. Our method achieved a classification accuracy of 92.5 % for the two-class classification among 40 subjects and 72.2 % for the three-class classification among 36 subjects. Furthermore, we observed that the proposed model outperformed traditional EEG decoding models. This paper presents an effective computer-aided diagnosis method that eliminates the need for manual extraction of EEG features and holds potential for future auxiliary diagnosis of spinal cord-type cervical spondylosis. The demand for large format lithium-ion batteries is increasing, because they can be integrated and controlled easier at a system level. However, increasing the size leads to increased heat generation risking overheating. 1865 and 2170 cylindrical cells can be both base cooled or side cooled with reasonable efficiency. Large format 4680 cylindrical cells have become popular after Tesla filed a patent. If these cells are to become widely used, then understanding how to thermally manage them is essential. In this work, we create a model of a 4680 cylindrical cell, and use it to study different thermal management options. Our work elucidates the comprehensive mechanisms how the hot topic 'tabless design' improves the performance of 4680 cell and makes any larger format cell possible while current commercial cylindrical cells cannot be simply scaled up to satisfy power and thermal performance. As a consequence, the model identifies the reason for the tabless cell's release: the thermal performance of the 4680 tabless cell can be no worse than that of the 2170 cell, while the 4680 tabless tab cell boasts 5.4 times the energy and 6.9 times the power. Finally, via the model, a procedure is proposed for choosing the thermal management for large format cylindrical cell for maximum performance. As an example, we demonstrate that the best cooling approach for the 4680 tabless cell is base cooling, while for the 2170 LG M50T cell it is side cooling. We conclude that any viable large format cylindrical cell must include a continuous tab (or 'tabless') design and be cooled through its base when in a pack. Objectives: Increasing evidence shows that the alternations under escitalopram treatment for Panic disorder (PD) patients are related to the cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). We aimed to explore the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of genes BDNF and CREB1 in the treatment response to escitalopram on PD.Methods: There were 80 PD patients with DSM-5 diagnosis and 78 healthy controls. All PD patients have received escitalopram treatment for consecutive 8 weeks. The Chinese version of Panic Disorder Severity Scale (PDSS-CV) and the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA-14) were used to evaluate the severity of panic and anxious symptoms for PD patients at baseline, week-2, week-4, and week-8, respectively. Four SNPs (rs11904814, rs6740584, rs2253206, and rs2551941) in CREB1 gene and rs6265 in BDNF gene were genotyped using matrix-assisted laser desorption time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). Quantitative and binary genetic associations between SNPs and escitalopram treatment response were performed.Results: The comparisons of three genotypes in CREB1 SNPs rs11904814 and rs2551941 among the PDSS-CV responders showed significant differences at the end of week-2 (both p<0.05). The results remained significant after Bonferroni corrections. For candidate genes in our present study, the gene CREB1 SNP rs11904814 (p=0.007) was significantly associated with changes of PDSS-CV scores under escitalopram treatment for 12 weeks in PD patients. And the result was still significant after adjusting age and gender.Conclusions: The findings provide preliminary evidence supporting the potential role of BDNF and CREB1 on a rapid response after escitalopram intervention in PD patients. Whether piano touch can influence piano timbre or not is a highly contested topic between acousticians and musicians. To gain insight into the ways in which pianists understand and use timbre, eight piano students were interviewed about their conceptualisation of timbre and ways of producing different timbres on the piano. Results indicate that pianists interpret timbre holistically as the overall sonic outcome and use embodied conceptualisations to produce timbre: expected/intended timbral effects are associated with corporeal experiences and the body and mind are strongly coupled in perception and production. Background: Whether using tissue adhesive alone after subcutaneous suture can close the skin incision with safety as well as cosmetic appearance after total hip arthroplasty was not clear. Methods: A prospective study was conducted. The same surgical methods were consistent throughout the entire study. After implanting prosthesis, the joint capsule was reconstructed. Fascial and subcutaneous layer were respectively closed by continuous running barbed suture. Patients were randomized allocated to group A with octyl-2-cyanoacrylate tissue adhesive alone, to group B with tissue adhesive after continuous subcuticular suture, or to group C with skin staples. Time of closure, drainage, pain, wound complications, and cosmesis were compared. All data were analyzed statistically. Results: There was no significant difference in drainage, Visual Analog Scale score or early wound complications between the three groups. However, there was significant difference in time of closure (P = 0.013). In pairwise comparison, time of closure in groups A and B was significantly longer than those in group C (P = 0.001 and P = 0.023, respectively); time of closure in group A was significantly shorter than those in group B (P = 0.003). Patient and Observer Scar Assessment Scale total scores were not significantly different at 6 weeks and 3 months postoperatively (P = 0.078 and P = 0.284, respectively). Conclusion: Tissue adhesive without subcuticular suture was similar with a combination of subcuticular suture and tissue adhesive as well skin staples in terms of safety and cosmetic appearance after total hip arthroplasty. The explosive growth of video applications has produced great challenges for data storage and transmission. In this paper, we propose a new ROI (region of interest) encoding solution to accelerate the processing and reduce the bitrate based on the latest video compression standard H.265/HEVC (High-Efficiency Video Coding). The traditional ROI extraction mapping algorithm uses pixel-based Gaussian background modeling (GBM), which requires a large number of complex floating-point calculations. Instead, we propose a block-based GBM to set up the background, which is in accord with the block division of HEVC. Then, we use the SAD (sum of absolute difference) rule to separate the foreground block from the background block, and these blocks are mapped into the coding tree unit (CTU) of HEVC. Moreover, the quantization parameter (QP) is adjusted according to the distortion rate automatically. The experimental results show that the processing speed on FPGA has reached a real-time level of 22 FPS (frames per second) for full high-definition videos (1 , 9 2 0 × 1 , 0 8 0), and the bitrate is reduced by 10% on average with stable video quality. H-steel all-bolted connection steel frame structures with heat preservation and decoration composite wall boards were investigated and the seismic performances of three scaled specimens were studied. The failure modes, hysteresis curves, bearing capacity, ductility, energy dissipation capacity, stiffness degradation and strain distribution were discussed. The calculation method of structural theoretical internal force was presented. The results showed that the overall structural seismic performance was better, and the structural ductility met the demands of elastic-plastic inter-story drift angle for seismic design. The H-steel weak-axis connection structure obtained better energy dissipation capacity, and its bearing capacity and stiffness were slightly different from the strong-axis connection. The heat preservation and decoration performance of composite wallboard and the all-bolted connection of the steel frame realized prefabrication during the whole construction period. The plastic hinge of the steel beam can be moved outwards because of the L-angles, which effectively avoids stress concentration in joint areas and expands the plastic hinge range. The errors between the theoretical structural capacity calculated by the plastic analysis method and the test results were within 2.44%. In addition, structural failure mechanisms and bearing capacities were verified by the finite element (FE) analysis, and the effects of the main parameters on the structures were investigated. The FE verification results were the same as in the test. The research results provide theoretical support and technical guidance for the application of thermal insulation and decorative composite wall panels in H-shaped steel all-bolted steel frames. Glucose disturbances are a common comorbidity of major depressive disorder (MDD) patients and have been extensively studied in the past. However, few studies have explored glucose disturbances in first-episode drug-naïve (FEDN) MDD patients. The purpose of this study was to examine the prevalence and risk factors of glucose disturbances in FEDN MDD patients to understand the relationship between MDD and glucose disturbances in the acute early phase and provide important implications for therapeutic interventions. Using a cross-sectional design, we recruited a total of 1718 MDD patients. We collected their socio-demographic information, clinical data, and blood glucose indicators.17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD), 14-item Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAMA), and the positive symptom subscale of the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) were used to assess their depression, anxiety, psychotic symptoms, respectively. The prevalence of glucose disturbances in FEDN MDD patients was 13.6%. Depression, anxiety and psychotic symptoms, body mass index (BMI) levels and suicide attempts rates were higher in the group with glucose disorders than in the group without glucose disorders among patients with first-episode drug-naive MDD. Correlation analysis showed that glucose disturbances were associated with HAMD score, HAMA score, BMI, psychotic symptoms and suicide attempts. Furthermore, binary logistic regression showed that HAMD score and suicide attempts were independently associated with glucose disturbances in MDD patients. Our findings suggest that the prevalence of comorbid glucose disturbances is very high in FEDN MDD patients. As the body's largest organ, the skin is an integrated multisensory system with self‐healing ability and helps stabilize body temperature. It is herein, inspired by natural skin, a wearable patch made from porous polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) skeleton, poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) hydrogel, and silicon oxide (SiO2) particles, offers a combination of self‐healing properties, along with hybrid radiative and evaporative cooling mechanisms, designed for electromyographic (EMG) signal detection and human‐machine interaction. The patch has both high mid‐infrared (MIR) emittance (96%) and visible to near‐infrared (visNIR) reflectance (80%), coupled with efficient water evaporation from the PVA hydrogel, resulting in a hybrid cooling power of 180 W m−2. It obtains a temperature drop of ≈7.7 °C using this patch under a solar intensity of ≈700 W m−2. Furthermore, the patch demonstrates self‐healing ability with ultrafast recovery of electrical conductivity (1 s) and a self‐healing efficiency (≈71%) of fracture strain. Thus, the wearable patch can detect high‐quality EMG signals and provide cooling effects and self‐healing capabilities that enhance comfortability and durability. These features make the patch an advanced solution for developing next‐generation wearable patches that can meet the rigorous demands of durable body temperature control in various applications. A dynamic STIRPAT model used in the current study is based on panel data from the eight most populous countries from 1975 to 2020, revealing the nonlinear effects of urbanization routes (percentage of total urbanization, percentage of small cities and percentage of large cities) on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Using "Dynamic Display Unrelated Regression (DSUR)" and "Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares (FMOLS)" regressions, the outcomes reflect that percentage of total urbanization and percentage of small cities have an incremental influence on carbon dioxide emissions. However, square percentage of small cities and square percentage of total urbanization have significant adverse effects on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The positive relationship between the percentage of small cities, percentage of total urbanization and CO2 emissions and the negative relationship between the square percentage of small cities, square percentage of total urbanization and CO2 emissions legitimize the inverted U-shaped EKC hypothesis. The impact of the percentage of large cities on carbon dioxide emissions is significantly negative, while the impact of the square percentage of large cities on carbon dioxide emissions is significantly positive, validating a U-shaped EKC hypothesis. The incremental effect of percentage of small cities and percentage of total urbanization on long-term environmental degradation can provide support for ecological modernization theory. Energy intensity, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), industrial growth and transport infrastructure stimulate long-term CO2 emissions. Country-level findings from the AMG estimator support a U-shaped link between the percentage of small cities and CO2 emissions for each country in the entire panel except the United States. In addition, the Dumitrescu and Hulin causality tests yield a two-way causality between emission of carbon dioxide and squared percentage of total urbanization, between the percentage of the large cities and emission of carbon dioxide, and between energy intensity and emission of carbon dioxide. Dulaglutide 3.0 and 4.5 mg weekly doses were approved for additional glycemic control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled with metformin and 0.75 or 1.5 mg weekly doses of dulaglutide. Effects such as nausea and vomiting are commonly reported with dulaglutide and other glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonist therapies. Based on a pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic model‐informed approach, a stepwise dose‐escalation scheme with 4‐week intervals between dose increments was suggested to mitigate gastrointestinal events for dulaglutide. These gastrointestinal events are dose dependent and attenuate over time with repeated dosing. A Markov chain Monte Carlo pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic joint model was developed using AWARD‐11 data (N = 1842) to optimize dulaglutide dose escalation to 3.0 and 4.5 mg to mitigate gastrointestinal events. Model simulations evaluated probabilities of nausea and vomiting events for various dosing scenarios in patients needing higher doses for additional glycemic control. The model indicated that patients may dose escalate from 1.5 to 3.0 mg, then 4.5 mg weekly after at least 4 weeks on each dose. No clinically meaningful differences in nausea or vomiting events were expected when patients escalated to 3.0 or 4.5 mg following initiation at 0.75 or 1.5 mg dulaglutide. Based on the findings of this model, a minimum 4‐week duration at each dose before escalation was appropriate to reduce gastrointestinal events of dulaglutide, consistent with observed gastrointestinal events data from the AWARD‐11 study and supporting the currently recommended dose‐escalation regimen of dulaglutide doses of 3.0 and 4.5 mg for additional glycemic control. Adjuvant hormonal therapy (HT) is important for the management of hormone‐sensitive breast cancer. However, the timeliness for adjuvant HT and the consequences of delayed initiation of treatment have not been analyzed. The purpose of this study was to characterize delays to HT and assess the impact on clinical outcomes. The study cohort consisted of female patients with invasive ductal and/or lobular, hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer diagnosed between 2010 and 2015. Initiation of HT >6 months (180 days) after surgery was defined as delayed. Patients receiving chemotherapy were excluded from the study cohort. Multivariable logistic regression modeling was performed to establish associations between delayed HT and demographic, facility, and clinical factors. Survival analysis was performed using the Kaplan‐Meier estimation and Cox proportional hazards regression to evaluate overall survival. Of 179 590 women assessed in the National Cancer Database, 3.2% had a delay in the initiation of adjuvant HT. Positive demographic‐related risk factors were younger age, ethnic minority groups, and multiple comorbidities. Clinical factors significantly associated with delayed initiation of adjuvant HT were high‐grade tumor, larger tumor size, greater lymph node involvement, having an unplanned readmission within 30 days of surgery, and positive final surgical margins. Adjusted survival analysis showed a survival disadvantage of delayed initiation of HT. Risk factors for delayed initiation of HT specific to demographic and clinical characteristics were identified. Traffic status detection on arterial roads is challenging because of the complexity of urban traffic and the limited coverage and high deployment cost of traffic detectors. Ubiquitous mobile phones and data generated from the events of these mobile devices provide a promising approach for traffic status detection. This paper proposes a novel approach solely using cellular event data without the cellphone GPS information to detect traffic status on arterial roads. Different from the conventional methods, the proposed approach uses features derived only from cellular data to estimate traffic status, not requiring any cellphone location information. Both handoff (HO) and location update (LU) events generated at each cellular station were extracted from the original data to form a candidate feature set. A feature selection method based on joint mutual information (JMI) was used to select features to cover the maximum information, which can resolve issues such as loss of useful information caused by conventional feature selection techniques. A support vector machine (SVM) algorithm was then employed to model the relationship between the selected features and traffic status (low, medium, and high-traffic). Finally, the proposed method was validated by both a field experiment in Taicang, China with 1-hour-time-interval samples and a simulation experiment on VISSIM with 5-minute-time-interval samples. This study provides a new perspective for traffic status detection which may help design strategies for traffic management and route navigation to improve traveling efficiency, especially for the cities lack of traffic surveillance devices. Background: A series of studies have suggested that teachers are likely to experience professional burnout in various regions around the world. To date, no known research has been conducted to investigate the prevalence and correlates of burnout among preschool teachers in China. This study examined the level of self-reported burnout and correlates of burnout among Chinese preschool teachers.Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among1795 preschool teachers in Tianjin, China, during August 2018-October 2018. The validated Chinese version of the 15-item Maslach Burnout Inventory was used to assess burnout. A self-administered questionnaire collected the sociodemographic factors. The psychological factors were collected by the Chinese version of the 20-item Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) and the Perceived Stress Scale-14.Results: The prevalence of burnout in Chinese preschool teachers was 53.2% (95% CI:51%─56%). Burnout rate was significantly decreased in overweight (P = 0.001, OR = 0.58, 95% CI: 0.42-0.79) and obesity (P = 0.048, OR = 0.75, 95% CI: 0.56-1.00) teachers compared with teachers with normal weight. The type of school (P = 0.007, OR = 1.45, 95% CI: 1.11-1.91), income satisfaction (P = 0.001, OR = 0.67, 95% CI: 0.53-0.86), depression (P < 0.001, OR = 3.08, 95% CI: 2.34-4.05) and perceived stress (P < 0.001, OR = 1.15, 95%CI: 1.13-1.18) were significantly associated with burnout.Conclusions: The prevalence of burnout among preschool teachers in Tianjin, China, is high. Background: IgA nephropathy (IgAN) is the most common glomerular disease worldwide. It has a high incidence in Asians and is more likely to progress to end-stage renal disease (ESRD). For high-risk IgAN, which is clinically characterized by massive proteinuria and renal dysfunction, however, there has been no international consensus on treatment options. Compared with other developed countries, IgAN patients in China are often found to have severe kidney function loss at initial diagnosis. Yi-Qi-Qing-Jie formula (YQF; a compound recipe of Chinese medicinal herbs) has shown potential renal protection in our previous clinical studies. To further confirm the efficacy and safety of YQF in the treatment of high-risk IgAN, we have designed a prospective double-blind randomized placebo-controlled trial.Methods/design: The TCM-WINE study is a single-center, prospective, double-blind randomized placebo-controlled trial. We plan to randomize 60 participants with biopsy-proven IgAN to a YQF combined group (YQF compound combined with prednisolone, and cyclophosphamide if necessary) or an immunosuppression group (placebo-YQF combined with prednisolone, and cyclophosphamide if necessary). The two groups will enter a 48-week in-trial treatment phase and receive post-trial follow-up until study completion (3 years). All patients will receive optimal supportive care. The primary composite outcome is defined as the first occurrence of a 40% decrease in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) from the baseline lasting for 3 months, initiating continuous renal replacement treatment, or death due to chronic kidney disease (CKD) during the 3-year study phase. The secondary endpoint events are defined as the mean annual eGFR decline rate (eGFR slope, ml/min per 1.73 m2 per year), which is calculated by the eGFR regression curve for each eligible patient, and proteinuria remission (prescribed as proteinuria < 0.5 g/day) at weeks 24, 36, and 48 during the in-trial phase. The remission rate of symptoms and inflammation status will be evaluated at week 48. Safety monitoring and assessment will be undertaken during the study.Discussion: The TCM-WINE study will evaluate the effects and safety of YQF combined therapy compared with immunosuppression monotherapy on the basis of the optimal supportive treatment in high-risk IgAN. Transcendental meditation (TM) is effective in alleviating stress and anxiety and promoting well-being. While the underlying biological mechanisms of TM are not yet fully explored, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis represents an index providing important clues embodying the stress system cascade. In this pilot study, young adults were randomly assigned to TM training followed by 8 weeks of meditation practice or a wait-list control condition. TM was conducted over 8 weeks. Thirty-four young adult participants were randomized; 27 participants completed the HPA outcome assessments (41% male). To assess HPA axis functioning, salivary samples to assess cortisol awakening response (CAR) that were collected in the morning, both at baseline and at week-4. Salivary cortisol in the context of a social stressor using the Trier Social Stress Test (TSST) was collected at week-8. The results indicate that participants who were randomly assigned to TM had lower awakening salivary cortisol levels and a greater drop in CAR from baseline to week-4 than the control group. There were no significant differences in HPA axis functioning in the context of the TSST. Primary limitations of this randomized controlled trial were the small sample size, the use of a wait-list as opposed to an active control, and the limited scope of HPA axis assessments. The results of this pilot study provide tentative evidence that TM may impact biological stress system functioning and suggests that this may be a worthwhile avenue to continue to examine. Background: A fundamental problem in RNA-seq data analysis is to identify genes or exons that are differentially expressed with varying experimental conditions based on the read counts. The relativeness of RNA-seq measurements makes the between-sample normalization of read counts an essential step in differential expression (DE) analysis. In most existing methods, the normalization step is performed prior to the DE analysis. Recently, Jiang and Zhan proposed a statistical method which introduces sample-specific normalization parameters into a joint model, which allows for simultaneous normalization and differential expression analysis from log-transformed RNA-seq data. Furthermore, an ℓ0 penalty is used to yield a sparse solution which selects a subset of DE genes. The experimental conditions are restricted to be categorical in their work. Results: In this paper, we generalize Jiang and Zhan’s method to handle experimental conditions that are measured in continuous variables. As a result, genes with expression levels associated with a single or multiple covariates can be detected. As the problem being high-dimensional, non-differentiable and non-convex, we develop an efficient algorithm for model fitting. Conclusions: Experiments on synthetic data demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms existing methods in terms of detection accuracy when a large fraction of genes are differentially expressed in an asymmetric manner, and the performance gain becomes more substantial for larger sample sizes. We also apply our method to a real prostate cancer RNA-seq dataset to identify genes associated with pre-operative prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels in patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recent large-scale genetic association studies have identified that several single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) on X chromosome are correlated with risk of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in Chinese population. The aim of this study was to estimate association between these loci and clinical features in female patients with SLE. Six SNPs identified in previous studies were genotyped. Odds ratio (OR) was calculated with adjusting for potential confounding factors. A total of 772 SLE patients were included in the final analysis. The data showed that 3 SNPs (rs5914778, rs3853839 and rs1059702) were marginally associated with several clinical subphenotypes. Furthermore, consistent associations were also found in two independent cohorts. However, the cumulative genetic risk score (GRS) was not associated with clinical manifestations as well as the disease activity index at disease diagnosis. In summary, genetic variants in X-linked genes may be potentially associated with presence of specific clinical feature. The immunological barrier currently precludes the clinical utilization of allogeneic stem cells. Although glial-restricted progenitors have become attractive candidates to treat a wide variety of neurological diseases, their survival in immunocompetent recipients is limited. In this study, we adopted a short-term, systemically applicable co-stimulation blockade-based strategy using CTLA4-Ig and anti-CD154 antibodies to modulate T-cell activation in the context of allogeneic glial-restricted progenitor transplantation. We found that co-stimulation blockade successfully prevented rejection of allogeneic glial-restricted progenitors from immunocompetent mouse brains. The long-term engrafted glial-restricted progenitors myelinated dysmyelinated adult mouse brains within one month. Furthermore, we identified a set of plasma miRNAs whose levels specifically correlated to the dynamic changes of immunoreactivity and as such could serve as biomarkers for graft rejection or tolerance. We put forward a successful strategy to induce alloantigen-specific hyporesponsiveness towards stem cells in the CNS, which will foster effective therapeutic application of allogeneic stem cells. Proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) offers an approach to quantify cycle-to-cycle variation (CCV) of the flow field inside the internal combustion engine cylinder. POD decomposes instantaneous flow fields (also called snapshots) into a series of orthonormal flow patterns (called POD modes) and the corresponding mode coefficients. The POD modes are rank-ordered by decreasing kinetic energy content, and the low-order, high-energy modes are interpreted as constituting the large-scale coherent flow structure that varies from engine cycle to engine cycle. Various POD-based analysis techniques have thus been proposed to characterize engine flow field CCV using these low-order modes. The validity of such POD-based analyses rests, as a matter of course, on the reliability of the underlying POD results (modes and coefficients). Yet a POD mode can be disproportionately skewed by a single outlier snapshot within a large data set, and an algorithm exists to define and identify such outliers. In this paper, the effects of a candidate outlier snapshot on the results of POD-based conditional averaging and quadruple POD analyses are examined for two sets of crank angle-resolved flow fields on the midtumble plane of an optical engine cylinder recorded by high-speed particle image velocimetry (PIV). The results with and without the candidate outlier are compared and contrasted. In the case of POD-based conditional averaging, the presence of the outlier scrambles the composition of snapshot subsets that define large-scale flow pattern variations, and thus substantially alters the coherent flow structures that are identified; for quadruple POD, the shape of coherent structures and the number of modes to define them are not significantly affected by the outlier. The regulation of gene expression is a fundamental cellular process and its misregulation is a key component of disease. Enhancers are one of the most salient regulatory elements in the genome and help orchestrate proper spatiotemporal gene expression during development, in homeostasis, and in response to signaling. Notably, molecular aberrations at enhancers, such as translocations and single nucleotide polymorphisms, are emerging as an important source of human variation and susceptibility to disease. Herein we discuss emerging paradigms addressing how genes are regulated by enhancers, common features of active enhancers, and how non-coding enhancer RNAs (eRNAs) can direct gene expression programs that underlie cellular phenotypes. We survey the current evidence, which suggests that eRNAs can bind to transcription factors, mediate enhancer-promoter interactions, influence RNA Pol II elongation, and act as decoys for repressive cofactors. Furthermore, we discuss current methodologies for the identification of eRNAs and novel approaches to elucidate their functions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Copper (Cu) is vital for plant growth but becomes toxic in excess, posing potential threats to human health. Although receptor-like kinases (RLKs) have been studied in plant response to abiotic stresses, their roles in Cu stress response remain poorly understood. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate Cu toxicity effects on rice and elucidate its potential molecular mechanisms. Specifically, rice lectin-type RLK Os CORK1 (Copper-response receptor-like kinase 1) function in Cu stress response was investigated. RNA sequencing and expression assays revealed that OsCORK 1 is mainly expressed in roots and leaves, and its expression was significantly induced by Cu stress time- and dose-dependently. Kinase activity assays demonstrated Os CORK1 as a Mn2+-preferred functional kinase. Genetically, OsCORK1 gene-edited mutants exhibited increased tolerance to Cu stress and reduced Cu accumulation compared to the wild type (WT). Conversely, OsCORK1 overexpression compromised the Cu stress tolerance observed in OsCORK1 gene-edited mutants. OsCORK1 gene-edited mutants slightly damaged the root tips compared to the WT under Cu stress. Furthermore, Os CORK1 was demonstrated to modulate Cu stress tolerance by mainly altering cell wall components, particularly lignin, in rice. Overall, Os CORK1 is an important negative regulator of Cu stress tolerance, providing a potential gene target to reduce Cu pollution in rice production. • The first in-plane omnidirectional flutter piezoelectric wind energy harvester. • A design method of omnidirectional flutter wind energy harvesters. • Excellent omnidirectionalities of onset speed and electrical output power. • High output power in arbitrary wind direction and wide working wind speed range. Most wind energy harvesters that are based on wind-induced vibrations can only operate in a specific wind direction, which limits their application in environments with time-varying wind directions. Previously reported in-plane omnidirectional piezoelectric wind energy harvesters (PWEHs) based on vortex-induced vibrations can produce stable electrical output characteristics when the wind direction changes, but their output powers are relatively low and the working wind speed ranges are relatively narrow. To solve this issue, this work presents an in-plane omnidirectional flutter PWEH which is mainly composed of the bluff body of a hollow cylindrical shell and the inside elastic supporting structure of several piezoelectric composite beams. Finite element analysis shows that harvesters with both four and six supporting beams offer good stiffness and electromechanical conversion isotropies. Experiments demonstrate that both prototype devices are flutter PWEHs with rotation axes located on the rear of the geometrical center of the bluff body. The effect of wind speed on their directionality is small, and both prototypes show in-plane omnidirectional operation over a wide wind speed range, over which the electrical outputs remain relatively high. The prototype with six beams is preferred from the viewpoint of the wind direction adaptability. The onset wind speeds in different directions all range between 5.8 and 6.0 m/s, showing the good isotropy. The minimum and maximum powers are approximately 266.4 and 300.1 μW, respectively, at 10 m/s, and it shows in-plane omnidirectional energy harvesting performance in the wind speed range from 6.5 m/s up to more than 10 m/s. • Unexpectedly high NO 3 – levels in a nearly pristine river. • Nitrification was prevailing, while NO 3 – removal was minor in summer. • Leaching of legacy NO 3 – contributed to the high riverine NO 3 – levels in winter. • Physicochemical parameters and functional genes regulating n transformations were elucidated. • Strong hydrological control on the transport of soil NO 3 − to river was revealed. Elevated riverine nitrate (NO 3 −) levels have led to increased eutrophication and other ecological implications. While high riverine NO 3 − levels were generally ascribed to anthropogenic activities, high NO 3 − levels in some pristine or minimally disturbed rivers were reported. The drivers of these unexpectedly high NO 3 − levels remain unclear. This study combined natural abundance isotopes, 15N-labeling techniques, and molecular techniques to reveal the processes driving the high NO 3 − levels in a sparsely populated forest river. The natural abundance isotopes revealed that the NO 3 − was mainly from soil sources and that NO 3 − removal processes were insignificant. The 15N-labeling experiments also quantitatively showed that the biological NO 3 − removal processes, i.e., denitrification, dissimilatory NO 3 − reduction to ammonium (DNRA), and anaerobic ammonia oxidation (anammox), in the soils and sediments were weak relative to nitrification in summer. While nitrification was minor in winter, the NO 3 − removal was insignificant relative to the large NO 3 − stock in the catchment. Stepwise multiple regression analyses and structural equation models revealed that in summer, nitrification in the soils was regulated by the amoA-AOB gene abundances and NH 4 +-N contents. Low temperature constrained nitrification in winter. Denitrification was largely controlled by moisture content in both seasons, and anammox and DNRA could be explained by the competition with nitrification and denitrification on their substrate (nitrite-NO 2 −). We also revealed the strong hydrological control on the transport of soil NO 3 − to the river. This study effectively revealed the mechanisms underlying the high NO 3 − levels in a nearly pristine river, which has implications for the understanding of riverine NO 3 − levels worldwide. We report ab initio calculations for the electronic and structural properties of Vn, Vn-, and Vn+ clusters up to n=8. We performed the calculations using a real-space pseudopotential method based on the local spin density approximation for exchange and correlation. This method assumes no explicit basis. Wave functions are evaluated on a uniform grid; only one parameter, the grid spacing, is used to control convergence of the electronic properties. Charged states are easily handled in real space, in contrast to methods based on supercells where Coulombic divergences require special handling. For each size and charge state, we find the lowest energy structure. Our results for the photoelectron spectra, using the optimized structure, agree well with those obtained by experiment. We also obtain satisfactory agreement with the measured ionization potential and electron affinity, and compare our results to calculations using an explicit basis. © 2004 American Institute of Physics. When observing task demonstrations, human apprentices are able to identify whether a given task is executed correctly long before they gain expertise in actually performing that task. Prior research into learning from demonstrations (LfD) has failed to capture this notion of the acceptability of a task's execution; meanwhile, temporal logics provide a flexible language for expressing task specifications. Inspired by this, we present Bayesian specification inference, a probabilistic model for inferring task specification as a temporal logic formula. We incorporate methods from probabilistic programming to define our priors, along with a domain-independent likelihood function to enable sampling-based inference. We demonstrate the efficacy of our model for inferring specifications, with over 90% similarity observed between the inferred specification and the ground truth—both within a synthetic domain and during a real-world table setting task. Point‐to‐point (PTP) motion of the end effector is an essential part for using robot manipulators to perform precision machining task. Traditionally, it is implemented by several motors with complex transmission mechanism, which causes slow responses, low positioning precision and dynamic performance. Therefore, dynamics analysis and modified electrifying method of a permanent magnet spherical motor (PMSM), which can provide up to three degrees‐of‐freedom independently for PTP motion is presented in this study. First, a new inverse kinematics method for solving PMSM's rotation angle using a cross‐product between two points is proposed. Through dynamics analysis, the control torque is designed by using sinusoidal function to plan the PTP motion. Second, a modified electrifying method by combined coils has been proposed based on the current–torque equation, which deduced the calculation burden by reducing the dimensions of characteristic matrix. Finally, the simulations and experimental results show that PTP motion trajectory planning based on sinusoidal function and the modified electrifying control method can not only reduce the torque disturbance and increase the electromagnetic torque, but also has the advantages of relatively simple control and better tracking control performance. Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the deadliest malignancies worldwide due to the lack of effective treatments. Chemoprevention in high-risk patients is a promising, alternative strategy. In this study, pioglitazone was investigated for its ability to prevent hepatocarcinogenesis in two rodent models of cirrhosis.Methods: In the first model, male Wistar rats were given repeated, low-dose injections of diethylnitrosamine (DEN) to accurately recapitulate the progression of fibrosis to cirrhosis and HCC. In the second model, a single dose of DEN was administered to male C57Bl/6 pups at day fifteen followed by administration of a choline-deficient, L-amino acid defined, high-fat diet (CDAHFD) at week six for 24 weeks. Pioglitazone treatment started at the first signs of fibrosis in both models.Results: Pioglitazone effectively reduced fibrosis progression and HCC development in both models. Gross tumor nodules were significantly reduced after pioglitazone treatment (7.4 ± 1.6 vs. 16.6 ± 2.6 in the rat DEN model and 5.86 ± 1.82 vs. 13.2 ± 1.25 in the mouse DEN+CDAHFD model). In both models, pioglitazone reduced the activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and upregulated the hepato-protective AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) pathway via increasing circulating adiponectin production.Conclusion: Pioglitazone is an effective agent for chemoprevention in rodents and could be repurposed as a multi-targeted drug for delaying liver fibrosis and hepatocarcinogenesis. While in an aprotic polar solvent, the spiropyran part isomerized to merocyanine form giving a blue color. When SPAB is subjected to a protic solvent, the alkylation reaction occurs at the oxygen generating the alkylated-SPAB with red color. Highlights • Homeologous recombination in a mammalian genome is enabled by nearby homology. • The mechanism of recombination is impacted by proximity to a double-strand break. • Mismatch repair may at times facilitate homeologous recombination in mammals. Abstract We investigated the homology dependency of recombination in thymidine kinase (tk)-deficient mouse fibroblasts. Cells were transfected with DNA constructs harboring a herpes tk gene (the "recipient") rendered non-functional by an oligonucleotide containing the recognition site for endonuclease I-SceI. Constructs also contained a "donor" tk sequence that could restore function to the recipient gene through spontaneous gene conversion or via repair of a double-strand break (DSB) at the I-SceI site. Recombination events were recoverable by selection for tk-positive clones. Three different donors were used containing 16, 25, or 33 mismatches relative to the recipient. The mismatches were clustered, forming an interval of "homeology" relative to the recipient sequences. We show that when homeologous sequences were surrounded by high homology, mismatches were frequently included in gene conversion events. Notably, conversion tracts from spontaneous recombination included either all or none of the mismatches, suggesting that recombination must begin and end in high homology. This requirement was relaxed for events that occurred near an induced DSB, as a significant number of these latter conversion tracts had one end positioned within homeology. Knock-down of mismatch repair showed that incorporation of mismatches into gene conversion tracts can involve repair of mismatched heteroduplex intermediates, indicating that mismatch repair does not necessarily impede homeologous genetic exchange. Our results illustrate (1) genetic exchange between homeologous sequences in a mammalian genome is enabled by nearby homology, (2) proximity to a DSB impacts the homology requirements for where genetic exchange may begin and end, and (3) mismatch correction and previously documented anti-recombination activity are separable functions of the mismatch repair machinery in mammalian cells. In this paper, a point matching method based on optimal estimation is used. It is based on a certain similarity between the two points of the optimal estimation of the characteristics, so as to find out the characteristics of the points and calculate the optical flow method. This method has a good performance in the research of moving target detection. Mechano/sonochemically mediated reversible deactivation radical polymerization has attracted great attention because of the novel electron transfer regulation process and high-efficient process intensification on mass transfer. Herein, a multi-scale modeling strategy combining quantum chemical calculation and kinetic modeling was developed for sonochemically induced electron transfer controlled atom transfer radical polymerization (SET-ATRP) to study the complicated SET process and its effects on polymerization. At the molecular scale, density functional theory (DFT) calculations were used to acquire the electron characteristic and structure–reactivity of the reactants, intermediates and products during SET process, which provides guideline to figure out the underlying mechanism. Results showed that DMSO•• generated under ultrasonication could react with free Me 6 TREN to induce electron transfer for the reduction of CuIIBr/L+ to produce CuI/L+, which is the key step for a successful polymerization. The corresponding elementary reaction rate coefficients were calculated by thermodynamic formulae combining transition state theory and Marcus theory. At the micro-scale, kinetic modeling based on method of moment was established to account for the role of SET process in regulating polymerization. Good agreements between the simulation results and experimental data confirmed the reliability of the as-developed multi-scale modeling strategy. More Me 6 TREN and CuIIBr/L+ resulted in more electron transfer and faster polymerization rate.
