We present experimental demonstration and modeling of mechanical wave propagation in a quasi-one-dimensional (quasi-1D) phononic crystal (PnC) waveguide (WG) constructed from a periodic array of single-crystal cubic-silicon carbide (3C-SiC) coupled micromechanical resonators, with an exceptional dynamic range exceeding 92 dB. The PnC design comprises 50 periodic cells, enabling the propagation of flexural mechanical waves in high-frequency and very-high-frequency bands, featuring a broad PnC bandgap spanning approximately 24–27.5 MHz. Furthermore, the 3C-SiC PnC WG exhibits excellent characteristics, including a high group velocity of 350 m/s and a low transmission loss of 0.69 dB/mm, enabling efficient guidance and support for mechanical waves across extended distances before reaching the noise level of the device. These attributes of the PnC WG, as demonstrated in this study, may open possibilities for the development of device platforms with applications in on-chip signal processing, sensing, and quantum transducer technologies. The micro-discharge effect limits the development of high-frequency microwave power components to miniaturization and integration. Therefore, it has become a focus of research to effectively suppress the micro-discharge effect, increase the micro-discharge threshold, and strengthen the environmental stability of high-frequency microwave devices. In this study, different elemental ratios of carbon (C)/silver (Ag)/titanium (Ti) composite films were obtained by multi-target magnetron co-sputtering technology and then systematically analyzed for micro-discharge effects. When the doping ratio of C/Ag/Ti was 3.538/1/0.013, the corresponding maximum secondary electron emission coefficient (δmax) decreased to 1.01 owing to the suppression of secondary electron emission by the increase in the content of sp2 hybrid bond. The micro-discharge threshold of Ku band waveguide filters coated with moderate C/Ag/Ti composite films showed an optimal performance of 10 000−12 500 W, which was increased by approximately 20 times. Moreover, the microstructure of the composite films exhibited higher density and flatness with a tiny increase in the titanium doping ratio, representing good environmental stability. Thus, the effective suppression of the secondary electron emission yield, significant improvement in the micro-discharge threshold, and enhancement of the environment stability of microwave components could be realized simultaneously by reasonably controlling the content of titanium in silver and titanium co-doped carbon-based composite films. For over half a century, traditional silicon-based integrated circuits (ICs) have been the basis of computational electronics and are widely used in computers, cell phones, and other fields. With the rapid development of human society, silicon-based semiconductor technology is approaching its physical and engineering limits. Our increasing diversity of non-traditional computing needs, such as ultra-small, ultra-fast, ultra-low-power wearables, and space radiation protection, is driving the search for new electronic materials. Semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes (s-SWCNTs) have many excellent electrical properties, such as high carrier mobility and high ballistic transport, making them strong candidates for new semiconductor materials in the post-Moore era. Carbon-based electronic technology has been developed for over 20 years, and the fundamental issues such as the material purification of s-SWCNTs, preparation prospects of s-SWCNT-based field-effect transistors (CNT FETs), and device physics based on CNT FETs have been basically solved. However, the chiral diversity of s-SWCNTs may lead to problems such as fluctuations in the electrical performance of CNT FETs, limiting the application of s-SWCNTs in high-end ICs. Monochiral s-SWCNTs not only have excellent electrical properties but also have a controllable structure and uniformity, which are crucial for the high-end IC of CNTs. However, some problems exist in the purity and yield of monochiral s-SWCNT preparation and the optimization of monochiral CNT FETs. Therefore, the chiral sorting of CNTs is reviewed in this paper, and the progress of polymer reprocessing in chiral separation is highlighted. Then, the research progress of monochiral CNT FETs is introduced, and possible development directions are summarized and analyzed. Semi-supervised object detection aims to enhance object detectors by utilizing a large number of unlabeled images, which has gained increasing attention in natural scenes. However, when these methods are directly applied to scenes with tiny objects, they face the challenge of selecting pseudo-labels with high localization quality due to the minuscule and blurred characteristics of these objects. To address this issue, we propose a novel method called semi-supervised tiny object detection (STOD). Firstly, to enhance the localization accuracy of pseudo-labels, we design a dense IoU-aware head that evaluates the quality of bounding box localization by incorporating additional predicted overlap values. Secondly, to mine more potential pseudo-labels, we propose a GMM-based multi-threshold pseudo-labels mining module that dynamically generates multiple thresholds using classification scores and overlap values to classify bounding boxes into strong positive and weak positive pseudo-labels. Lastly, we design the localization-aware weighting loss to incorporate the localization quality of both positive and negative samples in order to enhance the accuracy of pseudo-label localization. The experimental results show that STOD achieves comparable performance when compared to both fully and semi-supervised methods. Notably, on the VisDrone-Partial benchmark, STOD achieves outstanding results by outperforming our baseline model with improvements of 3.1 mAP, 5.7 A P 50 , and 3.0 A P 75 . [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Low efficiency of photogenerated electron–hole separation has been a challenge for organic conjugated polymer photocatalysts. Our preceding studies have revealed that polymers containing B←N coordination bonds can form a localized built-in electric field that effectively promotes photogenerated charge separation. However, B←N coordination units are still scarce and require more examples to find regularities in their structural design. The systematic development and testing of B←N coordination units is necessary for the efficient development of subsequent polymers containing B←N coordination bonds. In this work, three conjugated polymers containing B←N coordination bonds, PBN–Ni, PBP–Ni, and PBS–Ni, were synthesized by changing the substituents of the boron atoms and introducing narrow-band thiophene units to form conjugate and energy band gradients. The energy band modulation and localized built-in electric field construction were both achieved as planned, while the bandgap and photogenerated charge transport capabilities caused performance discrepancies. The experimental results showed that PBN–Ni had a better photocatalytic hydrogen evolution (HER) performance, reaching 104.6 μmol h−1 (λ > 420 nm). The optimal optical absorption edge of PBS–Ni was up to 643 nm, but the HER was lower, at 33.2 μmol h−1 (λ > 420 nm, 1% Pt). PBP–Ni optimized some of the optical absorption efficiencies (511 nm) while ensuring the HER activity (96.6 μmol h−1, λ > 420 nm). This work tentatively explores the characterization of the B←N coordination bond-containing base units serving as photocatalysts and provides the basic model experience and data reference for the subsequent expansion of B←N coordination bond-containing units and the development of B←N coordination bond-containing copolymer systems. In most practical engineering applications, the translating belt wraps around two fixed wheels. The boundary conditions of the dynamic model are typically specified as simply supported or fixed boundaries. In this paper, non-homogeneous boundaries are introduced by the support wheels. Utilizing the translating belt as the mechanical prototype, the vibration characteristics of translating Timoshenko beam models with non-homogeneous boundaries are investigated for the first time. The governing equations of Timoshenko beam are deduced by employing the generalized Hamilton's principle. The effects of parameters such as the radius of wheel and the length of belt on vibration characteristics including the equilibrium deformations, critical velocities, natural frequencies, and modes, are numerically calculated and analyzed. The numerical results indicate that the beam experiences deformation characterized by varying curvatures near the wheels. The radii of the wheels play a pivotal role in determining the change in trend of the relative difference between two beam models. Comparing the results unearths that the relative difference in equilibrium deformations between the two beam models is more pronounced with smaller-sized wheels. When the two wheels are of equal size, the critical velocities of both beam models reach their respective minima. In addition, the relative difference in natural frequencies between the two beam models exhibits nonlinear variation and can easily exceed 50%. Furthermore, as the axial velocities increase, the impact of non-homogeneous boundaries on modal shape of translating beam becomes more significant. Although dealing with non-homogeneous boundaries is challenging, beam models with non-homogeneous boundaries are more sensitive to parameters, and the differences between the two types of beams undergo some interesting variations under the influence of non-homogeneous boundaries. The COVID‐19 pandemic resulted in disruptions to the Canadian meat and livestock markets. While prices initially decreased, the shutdowns of beef packing plants led to a large reduction in the supply of beef and a corresponding increase in the wholesale price with ramifications along the entire supply chain. This study examines the effect of COVID‐19 on price transmission and price volatility in the Canadian beef supply chain using monthly farmgate, wholesale, and retail price data covering the period from July 2005 to February 2022. We find evidence indicating that COVID‐19 affected long‐run price transmission from farmgate and wholesale markets to the retail market. Specifically, we find that the pandemic resulted in a 94.42 and 81.48% decrease in price transmission from the farmgate and wholesale market, respectively, to the retail market, indicating that higher prices at the wholesale level were not being passed on to consumers to the same extent. In the short run, we find asymmetric price adjustments and both direct and indirect volatility spillovers among the three levels of markets, implying strong market interactions across the beef supply chain. Authorities in China have been actively involved in the high-quality development of libraries, with an emphasis on supporting and extending National Reading. Providing appropriate and successful reading services requires well-prepared reading service librarians, empowered to design and deliver services that make reading enjoyable and accessible for all. Based on competency theory and empowerment theory, this study analyses the competency features of empowered reading service librarians and constructs a competency model based on those features. Through literature analysis and Behavioural Event Interview, a preliminary competency model comprising 16 discriminative competencies and 20 benchmark competencies was constructed, subsequently refined through 4 rounds of expert consultation using the Delphi method and resulting in a model with 11 discriminative competency features and 6 benchmark competency features. A questionnaire survey of reading service librarians and library users was undertaken to extract common factors and develop an iceberg model. The iceberg model comprises 4 dimensions: knowledge, skills, self-concept, and motivation, with 11 discriminative competency traits and 6 benchmark competency traits. The model extends our understanding of the important competencies underpinning the work of reading service librarians and can support developments in their professional education, performance evaluation, recruitment, and selection. In this work, an approximate solution is given to compute the gas emissivities and absorptivities for H2O–CO2–CO mixtures. The proposed model is valid for temperatures from 300 to 2700 K and pressure path‐length (PxL) $({P}_{x}L)$ from 0.06 to 40 atm m. In the calculation of the analytical solution (AS), the nonlinear methods of Galerkin and Ritz were implemented based on the residual solution of the differential roots of the Finite Element Method. For each point value (PxL;T) $({P}_{x}L;T)$ using the AS, the spectral absorptivity aλ ${a}_{\lambda }$ and emissivity ελ ${\varepsilon }_{\lambda }$ were determined, while for the gas mixture the emissivity εm ${\varepsilon }_{m}$ and absorptivity am ${a}_{m}$ were computed using the Hottel Graphical Method (HGM) and the proposed method. In the emissivity calculations, the HGM shows less adjustment, with values of ±20% and ±15% for 79.1% and 56.2% of the available analytical data, while the proposed model correlates adequately with the available data, showing an average deviation of ±15% and ±10% for 91.4% and 76.2% of the available data. In the absorptivity estimations, the HGM shows a weaker fit, with values of ±20% and ±15% for 77.3% and 51.4% of the experimental data, respectively, while the proposed model shows good agreement with the available data, with a mean deviation of ±15% and ±10% for 89.8% and 74.1% of the test made. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of continuous control cuff pressure (CCCP) versus intermittent control cuff pressure (ICCP) for the prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) in critically ill patients. Methods: Relevant literature was searched in several databases, including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, ProQuest, the Cochrane Library, Wanfang Database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure between inception and September 2022. Randomized controlled trials were considered eligible if they compared CCCP with ICCP for the prevention of VAP in critically ill patients. This meta-analysis was performed using the RevMan 5.3 and Trial Sequential Analysis 0.9 software packages. The Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) framework was used to assess the level of evidence. Results: We identified 14 randomized control trials with a total of 2080 patients. Meta-analysis revealed that CCCP was associated with a significantly lower incidence of VAP compared with ICCP (relative risk [RR] = 0.52; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.37-0.74; P < 0.001), although considerable heterogeneity was observed (I 2 = 71%). Conducting trial sequential analysis confirmed the finding, and the GRADE level was moderate. Subgroup analysis demonstrated that CCCP combined with subglottic secretion drainage (SSD) had a more significant effect on reducing VAP (RR = 0.39; 95% CI = 0.29-0.52; P < 0.001). The effect of CCCP on ventilator-associated respiratory infection (VARI) incidence was uncertain (RR = 0.81; 95% CI = 0.53-1.24; P = 0.34; I 2 = 61%). Additionally, CCCP significantly reduced the duration of mechanical ventilation (MV) (mean difference [MD] = −2.42 days; 95% CI = −4.71-0.12; P = 0.04; I 2 = 87%). Descriptive analysis showed that CCCP improved the qualified rate of cuff pressure. However, no significant differences were found in the length of intensive care unit (ICU) stay (MD = 2.42 days; 95% CI = −1.84-6.68; P = 0.27) and ICU mortality (RR = 0.86; 95% CI = 0.74-1.00; P = 0.05). Conclusion: Our findings suggest that the combination of CCCP and SSD can reduce the incidence of VAP and the duration of MV and maintain the stability of cuff pressure. Au@Pt nanozyme, a bimetallic core–shell structure Au and Pt nanoparticle, has attracted significant attention due to its excellent catalytic activity and stability. Here, we propose that Au@Pt improves glucose tolerance and reduces TG after four weeks administration. The transcriptomic analysis of mouse liver tissues treated with Au@Pt nanozyme showed changes in genes related to glucose and lipid metabolism signaling pathways, including glycolysis/gluconeogenesis, pyruvate metabolism, PPAR signaling, and insulin signaling. Moreover, analysis of fecal samples from mice treated with Au@Pt nanozyme showed significant changes in the abundance of beneficial gut microbiota such as Dubosiella, Parvibacter, Enterorhabdus, Monoglobus, Lachnospiraceae_UCG-008, Lachnospiraceae_UCG-006, Lachnospiraceae_UCG-001, and Christensenellaceae_R-7_group. Combined multi-omics correlation analyses revealed that the modulation of glucose and lipid metabolism by Au@Pt was strongly correlated with changes in hepatic gene expression profiles as well as changes in gut microbial profiles. Overall, our integrated multi-omics analysis demonstrated that Au@Pt nanozyme could modulate glucose and lipid metabolism by regulating the expression of key genes in the liver and altering the composition of gut microbiota, providing new insights into the potential applications of Au@Pt nanozyme in the treatment of metabolic disorder. In the research of deep learning, an Unsupervised deep convolution-generated Generated Adversarial Network (UGAN) usually needs a large number of data samples to train. However, when faced with some small samples, the performance of the algorithm is often degraded due to over-fitting. Combined with specially designed data enhancement methods, a generated adversarial network optimization algorithm based on adaptive data augmentation (AdauGAN) is proposed. The adaptive data augmentation module is added before the discriminant network, and a spatial transformation is carried out simultaneously at the probability distribution level of generated data and real data. To alleviate the over-fitting phenomenon in the training process, the current enhancement intensity is adjusted adaptively after the over-fitting occurs. The proposed algorithm is verified on SVHN, CelebA and CIFAR-10 data sets. The Frechet Inception Distance (FID) values of AdauGAN achieve 22.10, 23.94, 34.87, respectively, which is close to or even higher than the training results of Deep Convolution Generated Adversarial Network (DCGAN) under all data. Extensive experiment results show that the proposed Adaugan has an excellent performance in small samples. Peat is an organic mineral resource. Peat contains a large amount of humic acid, and extracting humic acid from peat is a way to efficiently utilize peat. This article mainly studies the effects of using woody, herbaceous, and mossy peat as raw materials on the yield, content, and especially molecular structure of humic acid extraction, including that the oxygen-containing functional groups of humic acids, aromatic carbon content, microcrystalline structure, carbon chain structure, and degree of aromatization. The results showed that the highest yield of humic acid in woody peat was 54.33%, the yield of humic acid in herbaceous peat and mossy peat are relatively low, at 44.67% and 15.00%, respectively. while the woody peat humic acid has the lowest content, that is 38.38%. The content of humic acid in herbaceous peat was 77.33%. and the content of humic acid in mossy peat is 57.85%. Through comprehensive consider, herbaceous peat is more suitable for extracting humic acid. At the same time, this article studies the molecular structures of three peat humic acids and concludes as follows. Woody peat humic acid has the highest degree of aromatization, the highest content of benzene ring, and more functional groups such as methyl, phenol, aromatic ether, carbonyl, and hydroxyl groups. The content of methoxy and methylene groups in herbaceous peat humic acid is relatively high. Through XPS characterization analysis, it was found that the main forms of oxygen element in humic acid are C = O, C-O, and -COOH, without inorganic oxygen. The humic acid extracted from different types of peat has significant differences in yield, purity, and functional group content. Compared to woody peat and mossy peat, herbaceous peat is the most suitable raw material for extracting humic acid from peat. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To overcome the poor targeting of conventional chemotherapeutic drugs and the defects of low drug‐loading capacity of conventional drug delivery systems, novel drug delivery systems with high drug‐loading capacity are developed. Herein, the high drug‐loaded mPEG79‐GFLGDDD‐DOX copolymer is first synthesized via an amide reaction, which can bond multiplex DOX. After PEGylation, the drug can resist the adsorption of proteins in the plasma in blood circulation, avoid being rapidly cleared out of the body, and prolong the circulation time of the drug in the blood, which is conducive to the enrichment of micelles in tumor tissues through the EPR effect. In tumor tissues, the peptide Glycine‐ Phenylalanine‐ Leucine‐ Glycine (GFLG) is recognized and sheared by overexpressed cathepsin B, which stripped the outer layer of methoxy polyethylene glycol (mPEG) and made it more readily available for uptake by tumor cells. After entering the tumor cells, the bonded DOX and the physically encapsulated DOX in the micelles played a synergistic role, realizing the killing of tumor cells, thus effectively enhancing the therapeutic effect on tumors. The study on the spatial distribution and dynamic change in monthly Fractional Vegetation Cover (FVC) of parks provides a scientific basis for vegetation management and optimization in urban parks. This research focuses on two comprehensive parks located in Xinxiang, China—People's Park and Harmony Park, using multi-spectral Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) images as the data source and considering monthly periods. Monthly FVC data was obtained using the method of Dimidiate Pixel Model based on the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). The dynamic changes of monthly FVC at regional scale were described through the dynamic changes in the monthly FVC mean and in the FVC areas at various scales, and the dynamic changes in the monthly FVC were analyzed using the coefficient of variation and curve change trends. Furthermore, the dynamic changes in FVC areas at various scales in the parks were analyzed using standard deviation and curve change trends. Subsequently, the differential method was used to analyze the monthly FVC dynamic changes at pixel scale. The results indicate: (1) In terms of the spatial distribution characteristics in monthly FVC of urban parks, both parks exhibit the highest ratio of bare area in January and February. The proportions of FVC for People's Park are 59.17% and 64.46%, while for Harmony Park they are 69.10% and 51.92%, showing the most distinct spatial distribution characteristics. The high and very high coverage areas in each month are mainly distributed on the outskirts of the park, while the medium, medium-low, and low coverage areas are mainly located in the central and middle parts of the park. The overall FVC of the park shows a trend of high coverage on the periphery and low coverage in the center. (2) In the spatial-temporal dynamic change in FVC at regional scale, the average monthly FVC changes exhibit an overall "∩" -shaped pattern. The peak and minimum FVC values for different parks occur at different times. The peak FVC for People's Park appears in August, while for Harmony Park it appears in June, with corresponding FVC values of 0.46 and 0.50, respectively. The minimum FVC for People's Park occurs in February, and for Harmony Park it occurs in January, with FVC values of 0.17 and 0.15, respectively. Among the dynamic change in FVC areas at various scales, the areas of bare and highest-coverage exhibit the greatest fluctuations, with the ascending and descending changes and rates of bare and highest-coverage areas generally showing opposite trends. (3) In terms of the spatial-temporal dynamic changes in FVC at pixel scale in urban parks, overall, FVC shows moderate improvement from February-August, and moderate degradation from January-February and from August-December. The degradation and improvement are primarily slight. The most significant improvement in monthly FVC occurs in March-April, with a predominant type of significant improvement in FVC changes. People's Park and Harmony Park show the most significant degradation in FVC during September-October and October-November, respectively, with a predominant type of significant degradation in FVC changes. During the periods of most significant improvement and degradation in monthly FVC, the spatial distribution of significant improvement and degradation areas primarily occurs in the periphery and middle parts of the parks. FVC in urban parks decreases from January to February and from August to December, while it increases from February to August, with relatively good conditions from June to August. Vegetation optimization should consider: balancing recreational and ecological functions overall, controlling the proportion of bare land, and enhancing the canopy structure of vegetation in low coverage areas or the coverage of hard surfaces; locally increasing the proportion of evergreen plants and moderately increasing planting density. In order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of hydrogen energy storage system (HESS) risk assessment, the study proposes a risk portfolio assessment model based on kernel principal component analysis-tuna swarm optimization-least squares support vector machine (KPCA-TSO-LSSVM) algorithm. Firstly, the original data were downscaled using KPCA to extract principal components with at least 98% information content. These principal components use the extracted principal components as inputs to the model. Secondly, TSO is used to implement the optimization of parameter settings for LSSVM. Thirdly, the applicability of the proposed KPCA-TSO-LSSVM in HESS risk assessment is verified by case analysis. Finally, the superiority of the model proposed is verified by comparing TSO, whale optimization algorithm (WOA) and particle swarm optimization (PSO). This study assesses the reliability and limitations of the Geostationary Lightning Mapper (GLM) in detecting continuing currents by comparing observations from ground‐based high‐speed cameras with GLM‐16 data. Our findings show that the GLM's one‐group detection efficiency (DE_1) is 53%, while the more stringent five‐consecutive‐group detection efficiency (DE_5) is 10%. Optical signals detected by the GLM predominantly occur during the early stages of continuing currents. Additionally, there is a notable disparity in detection efficiencies between positive and negative continuing currents, with positive continuing currents being detected more frequently. The application of the logistic regression model developed by Fairman and Bitzer (2022) further illustrates the limitations in continuing current identification. To comprehensively understand the response mechanisms of mollusks to cadmium (Cd) stress, we selected the Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas) as the research species. We aim to delve into the molecular mechanisms underlying the response of oysters to cadmium exposure. Our results indicate that Cd exposure significantly increases Cd concentration in oyster gill tissues, eliciting strong physiological and metabolic reactions, including enhanced oxidative stress response and disrupted energy metabolism, signaling the oyster's biological response to acute Cd stress. This study provides new insights into the signal transduction and metabolic pathways involved in the acute biological response of bivalves and other marine organisms to heavy metals. Marine mollusks, including oysters, are highly tolerant to high levels of cadmium (Cd), but the molecular mechanisms underlying their molecular response to acute Cd exposure remain unclear. In this study, the Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas was used as a biological model, exposed to acute Cd stress for 96 h. Transcriptomic analyses of their gills were performed, and metabolomic analyses further validated these results. In our study, a total of 111 differentially expressed metabolites (DEMs) and 2108 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified under acute Cd exposure. Further analyses revealed alterations in key genes and metabolic pathways associated with heavy metal stress response. Cd exposure triggered physiological and metabolic responses in oysters, including enhanced oxidative stress and disturbances in energy metabolism, and these changes revealed the biological response of oysters to acute Cd stress. In this paper, we propose an innovative light-powered LCE-slider system that enables continuous self-circling on an elliptical track and is comprised of a light-powered LCE string, slider, and rigid elliptical track. By formulating and solving dimensionless dynamic equations, we explain static and self-circling states, emphasizing self-circling dynamics and energy balance. Quantitative analysis reveals that the self-circling frequency of LCE-slider systems is independent of the initial tangential velocity but sensitive to light intensity, contraction coefficients, elastic coefficients, the elliptical axis ratio, and damping coefficients. The self-excited oscillation system, owing to its capability of harvesting environmental energy, exhibits immense potential in diverse fields, such as micromachines, biomedicine, communications, and construction, with its adaptability, efficiency, and sustainability being highly regarded. Despite the current interest in track sliders in self-vibrating systems, LCE fiber-propelled track sliders face significant limitations in two-dime nsional movement, especially self-rotation, necessitating the development of more flexible and mobile designs. In this paper, we design a spatial slider system which ensures the self-rotation of the slider propelled by a light-fueled LCE fiber on a rigid circular track. A nonlinear dynamic model is introduced to analyze the system's dynamic behaviors. The numerical simulations reveal a smooth transition from the static to self-rotating states, supported by ambient illumination. Quantitative analysis shows that increased light intensity, the contraction coefficient, and the elastic coefficient enhance the self-rotating frequency, while more damping decreases it. The track radius exhibits a non-monotonic effect. The initial tangential velocity has no impact. Examining dual vertical-axis wind turbines (VAWTs) across various turbulence scenarios is crucial for advancing the efficiency of urban energy generation and promoting sustainable development. This study introduces a novel approach by employing two-dimensional numerical analysis through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to investigate the performance of VAWTs under varying turbulence intensity conditions, a topic that has been relatively unexplored in existing research. The analysis focuses on the self-starting capabilities and the effective utilization of wind energy, which are key factors in urban wind turbine deployment. The results reveal that while the impact of increased turbulence intensity on the self-starting performance of VAWTs is modest, there is a significant improvement in wind energy utilization within a specific turbulence range, leading to an average power increase of 1.41%. This phenomenon is attributed to the more complex flow field induced by heightened turbulence intensity, which delays the onset of dynamic stall through non-uniform aerodynamic excitation of the blade boundary layer. To increase the ubiquity and merging of Olfactory Interfaces (OIs) into daily scenarios seamlessly and aesthetically, we propose OlfacKit, a fully integrated pipeline, which consists of (1) an interactive design tool that enables novice users to quickly model the physical forms of OIs and automatically generate fabrication-ready designs; (2) a construction workflow with a series of assembly kits and a video tutorial; (3) a WebUI for rapidly testing and prototyping smell control through Wi-Fi communication. We tested the atomization performance with different voltages and aroma liquids and further guided the implementation of the WebUI. Six applications have been explored, showing the flexibility and scalability of our toolkit. We conducted a workshop to evaluate the feasibility and usability of OlfacKit, involving 15 participants who proposed 108 creative ideas and implemented 13 working prototypes. The rail profile milling process allows considerable thickness to be removed in a single pass. However, the residual waviness formation law after milling and its subsequent effect on rail performance remains uncertain. In this paper, the wavelength and wave height of the residual waviness are identified as the key characteristics. The relationship between milling speed and residual waviness is determined, and a numerical model of the residual waviness formed on the surface after milling is established based on the commonly used three milling speeds of 300, 600, and 1000 m/h, and its accuracy is verified using the parameters of the residual waviness detected by the milling experiments. A three-dimensional finite element analysis model of wheel-rail contact was employed to analyze the contact stresses and low fatigue cycles at a wheel load of 11.5 tons with no residual waviness on the rail profile surface and with three types of residual waviness, respectively. The results show that the residual waviness changes the wheel-rail contact position and the morphology of the contact area, reduces the maximum contact stress and increases the strain fatigue cycles. Background: Clear cell odontogenic carcinoma (CCOC) is an odontogenic carcinoma characterized by sheets and islands of vacuolated and clear cells. The diagnosis of atypical CCOC can pose a challenge when tumor cells deviate from their characteristic clear morphology, even with the aid of genetic profiling for CCOC identification. Case presentation: In this manuscript, we detailed the inaugural instance of a recurrently recurring clear cell odontogenic carcinoma (CCOC) with pronounced squamous differentiation in a 64-year-old male. The primary tumor in this individual initially displayed a biphasic clear cell phenotype. However, subsequent to the third recurrence, the clear tumor cells were entirely supplanted by epidermoid cells characterized by eosinophilic cytoplasm, vesicular chromatin, and prominent nucleoli. Notable aggressive attributes such as necrosis, conspicuous cytological malignancy, perineural dissemination, and vascular invasion were noted. Additionally, the tumor progressed to manifest lung metastases. The tumor cells exhibited positive immunoreactivity for AE1/AE3, KRT19, Pan-CK, EMA, P40, P63, CK34βE12, and P53, while they tested negative for CK35βH11, KRT7, S-100, and neuroendocrine markers. The Ki-67 proliferation index was calculated at an average of 15%. Furthermore, FISH analysis unveiled the presence of the EWSR1::ATF1 gene fusion. Background: Penicillium oxalicum is an important fungal agent in the composting of cattle manure, but the changes that occur in the microbial community, physicochemical factors, and potential functions of microorganisms at different time points are still unclear. To this end, the dynamic changes occurring in the microbial community and physicochemical factors and their correlations during the composting of cattle manure with Penicillium oxalicum were analysed. Results: The results showed that the main phyla observed throughout the study period were Firmicutes, Actinobacteria, Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Halanaerobiaeota, Apicomplexa and Ascomycota. Linear discriminant analysis effect size (LEfSe) illustrated that Chitinophagales and Eurotiomycetes were biomarker species of bacteria and eukaryote in samples from Days 40 and 35, respectively. Bacterial community composition was significantly correlated with temperature and pH, and eukaryotic microorganism community composition was significantly correlated with moisture content and NH4+-N according to redundancy analysis (RDA). The diversity of the microbial communities changed significantly, especially that of the main pathogenic microorganisms, which showed a decreasing trend or even disappeared after composting. Conclusions: In conclusion, a combination of high-throughput sequencing and physicochemical analysis was used to identify the drivers of microbial community succession and the composition of functional microbiota during cattle manure composting with Penicillium oxalicum. The widespread adoption of e-commerce has rendered online reviews an indispensable source for acquiring knowledge about product features. The Kano model serves as a classic framework for categorizing customer requirements. It was proposed by the Japanese scholar Noriaki Kano in 1984 as a tool primarily used to help businesses better understand and categorize customer needs, guiding product development and service quality improvement. However, existing research on mining online review information often relies predominantly on static analysis, lacking comprehensive categorization of user demands. To address this gap, this paper introduces an enhanced Kano model for the identification and dynamic analysis of user demands. This model classifies review data based on emotional polarity and user attention, leveraging the characteristics inherent in online reviews. Furthermore, it constructs a user demand evolution model using time series analysis and utilizes SnowNLP for emotional calculations. By conducting word frequency statistics and employing LDA models to analyze product features, this paper identifies the evolving trends in user demands. Additionally, the exponential smoothing method is used to forecast the trend in users’ emotional values towards the product. Information accessibility is a pivotal factor influencing farmers' adoption of Agricultural Green Production Technologies (AGPT). However, the widespread issue of information poverty presents a significant obstacle to this adoption process, thereby hindering the progression towards sustainable agricultural development. To address this information deficit, farmers have begun to utilize the Internet and participate in government-led onsite assembly training programs to acquire the necessary knowledge. Yet there is still a lack of research evidence on the effectiveness and comparative advantages of internet and offline training. This study explores the impact of various information access channels on farmers' adoption of green production technologies in agriculture, focusing on a sample of 731 family farms located in Sichuan Province. The issue of endogeneity was addressed using the Conditional Mixed Process Estimation Method. The sample underwent a t-test and heterogeneity analysis. The findings revealed that both internet-based information access and participation in training significantly bolstered farmers' adoption of AGPT, with the former proving to be more effective. The development of efficient, robust, and cost‐effective electrocatalysts remains a significant challenge for practical water electrolysis. Here, a metallic glass (MG)‐based catalyst with surface‐enriched Ir and Pt‐alloyed active sites, demonstrating superior electrocatalytic performance, is reported. The dealloyed catalyst, characterized by an Ir and Pt‐rich honeycombed nanoporous surface and an interior flexible MG substrate, can directly serve as a bifunctional electrode, enabling efficient hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions with low overpotentials of 19 and 223 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm−2, respectively. Notably, the mass activity of the catalyst surpasses that of commercial Pt/C and Ir/C catalysts by 13.9 and 16.5 times, respectively. Additionally, the catalyst exhibits exceptional stability with negligible activity decay even under an ampere‐level current density (i.e., ≥1 A cm−2). Theoretical calculations reveal the optimization of atomic configuration and regulation of electronic interactions through lattice strain induced by the co‐alloying of Ir and Pt, contributing to superior electrocatalytic performance. Furthermore, the unique honeycombed nanoporous architecture, shaped by the surface migration and enrichment of the noble metals, offers abundant active sites for accelerating the electrocatalytic reactions. Citrate synthase catalyzes the first and the rate-limiting reaction of the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, producing citrate from the condensation of oxaloacetate and acetyl-coenzyme A. The parasitic protozoan Toxoplasma gondii has full TCA cycle activity, but its physiological roles remain poorly understood. In this study, we identified three proteins with predicted citrate synthase (CS) activities two of which were localized in the mitochondrion, including the 2-methylcitrate synthase (PrpC) that was thought to be involved in the 2-methylcitrate cycle, an alternative pathway for propionyl-CoA detoxification. Further analyses of the two mitochondrial enzymes showed that both had citrate synthase activity, but the catalytic efficiency of CS1 was much higher than that of PrpC. Consistently, the deletion of CS1 resulted in a significantly reduced flux of glucose-derived carbons into TCA cycle intermediates, leading to decreased parasite growth. In contrast, disruption of PrpC had little effect. On the other hand, simultaneous disruption of both CS1 and PrpC resulted in more severe metabolic changes and growth defects than a single deletion of either gene, suggesting that PrpC does contribute to citrate production under physiological conditions. Interestingly, deleting Δcs1 and Dprpc individually or in combination only mildly or negligibly affected the virulence of parasites in mice, suggesting that both enzymes are dispensable in vivo. The dispensability of CS1 and PrpC suggests that either the TCA cycle is not essential for the asexual reproduction of tachyzoites or there are other routes of citrate supply in the parasite mitochondrion. Simple Summary: Laboratory and field observations were used to evaluate the compatibility of yellow sticky cards with augmentative releases of T. dendrolimi for control of orchard pests, particularly C. sasakii and G. molesta. Female T. dendrolimi showed stronger attraction to yellow and white than to red, green or blue. Yellow sticky cards trapped significant numbers of T. dendrolimi in the field, reducing biological control of C. sasakii as well as the number of lacewings naturally recruited to the orchard. Judicious use of yellow sticky cards in orchards is therefore recommended to avoid disruption of biological control, specifically removing them in May before peak flights of moth pests require releases of egg parasitoids. Integrated pest management relies upon mutual compatibility among pest control tactics. The fruit-boring moths Carposina sasakii and Grapholita molesta can be devastating pests of pome and stone fruit production. Trichogramma dendrolimi parasitizes the eggs of these pests, preventing their eclosion, but its efficacy can be reduced by other pest control tactics. We tested T. dendrolimi attraction to five colors, and moth attraction to six colors, in laboratory choice tests, and thereafter deployed yellow sticky cards in tandem with releases of T. dendrolimi in field trials in a pear orchard. Yellow sticky cards deployed at high density trapped T. dendrolimi and reduced their numbers post-release. They also trapped adult G. molesta, which appeared to compensate for reduced egg parasitism on this species, but not on C. sasakii, which had higher abundance in plots with yellow sticky cards. The cards also captured adult lacewings, likely reducing their numbers in the field, but did not capture large numbers of lady beetles. The results suggest that yellow sticky cards can be used at high density to control aphids, psyllids and leafhoppers in early spring (March and April) when natural enemies are in low numbers, then removed in May so as not to interfere with augmentative releases of T. dendrolimi that must be timed to coincide with peak flights of fruit-boring moths. Objective Individual differences challenge the treatment of vancomycin, linezolid and voriconazole in severe infections. This study aimed to build a simple and economical method for simultaneous determination of the three antibiotics in human plasma by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC–MS/MS) and provided a reference for therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of infected patients. Methods The plasma samples were precipitated by acetonitrile and detected and separated on a shim-pack GIST C18 column following the gradient elution within 5 min. Results The linear ranges of vancomycin, linezolid and voriconazole were 1.00–100.00, 0.10–15.00 and 0.10–20.00 μg·mL−1, respectively, with good linearity (R 2 > 0.99). The accuracy and precision, matrix effect, extraction recovery and stability were validated, and the results all meet the acceptance criteria of China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) guidelines. Conclusion The UHPLC–MS/MS method was established and validated for the simultaneous determination of vancomycin, linezolid and voriconazole in human plasma and successfully applied to routine TDM for individualized treatment. Dual-functional nanomaterial electrodes have the capability to satisfy the requirements for both sweat analysis and the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), thereby enabling the integration of electrochemical sensing and hydrogen production. In this study, ZIF-67 cubes are synthesized on nickel foam (NF), while TiO2 is obtained through an annealing process. Subsequently, the ZIF-67@TiO2/MoS2 nanocomposite is fabricated on nickel foam via a hydrothermal method. This composite material exhibits exceptional photocatalytic properties and is also suitable for the detection of glucose in sweat. The glucose detection range spans from 10 nM to 10 mM with a sensitivity of 7.24 μA mM−1 cm−2 for a signal-to-noise ratio of 3 and a detection limit of 0.43 μM. Moreover, when utilized as a hydrogen evolution electrode, this material demonstrates a current density of 10 mA cm-2 at an overpotential of 118 mV, with a Tafel slope of 73 mV/dec. To achieve the optimal alginate-based oral formulation for delivery of hydrophobic drugs, on the basis of previous research, we further optimized the synthesis process parameters of alginate-g-oleylamine derivatives (Ugi-FOlT) and explored the effects of different degrees of substitution (DSs) on the molecular self-assembly properties of Ugi-FOlT, as well as the in vitro cytotoxicity and drug release behavior of Ugi-FOlT. The resultant Ugi-FOlT exhibited good amphiphilic properties with the critical micelle concentration (CMC) ranging from 0.043 mg/mL to 0.091 mg/mL, which decreased with the increase in the DS of Ugi-FOlT. Furthermore, Ugi-FOlT was able to self-assemble into spherical micellar aggregates in aqueous solution, whose sizes and zeta potentials with various DSs measured by dynamic light scattering (DLS) were in the range of 653 ± 25~710 ± 40 nm and −58.2 ± 1.92~−48.9 ± 2.86 mV, respectively. In addition, RAW 264.7 macrophages were used for MTT assay to evaluate the in vitro cytotoxicity of Ugi-FOlT in the range of 100~500 μg/mL, and the results indicated good cytocompatibility for Ugi-FOlT. Ugi-FOlT micellar aggregates with favorable stability also showed a certain sustained and pH-responsive release behavior for the hydrophobic drug ibuprofen (IBU). Meanwhile, it is feasible to control the drug release rate by regulating the DS of Ugi-FOlT. Isoamyl 4-methoxycinnamate (IMC) is widely used in various fields because of its exceptional UV-filter properties. However, due to its cytotoxicity and anti-microbial degradability, the potential eco-environmental toxicity of IMC has become a focus of attention. In this study, we propose a host–guest supramolecule approach to enhance the functionality of IMC, resulting in a more environmentally friendly and high-performance materials. Sulfobutyl-β-cyclodextrin sodium salt (SBE-β-CD) was used as the host molecule. IMC-SBE-β-CD supramolecular substances were prepared through the "saturated solution method", and their properties and biosecurity were evaluated. Meanwhile, we conducted the AOS tree evaluation system that surpasses existing evaluation approaches based on apoptosis, oxidative stress system, and signaling pathways to investigate the toxicological mechanisms of IMC-SBE-β-CD within human hepatoma SMMC-7721 cells as model organisms. The AOS tree evaluation system aims to offer the comprehensive analysis of the cytotoxic effects of IMC-SBE-β-CD. Our findings showed that IMC-SBE-β-CD had an encapsulation rate of 84.45% and optimal stability at 30 °C. Further, IMC-SBE-β-CD promoted cell growth and reproduction without compromising the integrity of mitochondria and nucleus or disrupting oxidative stress and apoptosis-related pathways. Compared to IMC, IMC-SBE-β-CD is biologically safe and has improved water solubility with the UV absorption property maintained. Our study provides the foundation for the encapsulation of hydrophobic, low-toxicity organic compounds using cyclodextrins and offers valuable insights for future research in this field. Sickle cell disease is a growing health burden afflicting millions around the world. Clinical observation and laboratory studies have shown that the severity of sickle cell disease is ameliorated in individuals who have elevated levels of fetal hemoglobin. Additional pharmacologic agents to induce sufficient fetal hemoglobin to diminish clinical severity is an unmet medical need. We recently found that up-regulation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor coactivator-1a (PGC-1a) can induce fetal hemoglobin synthesis in human primary erythroblasts. Here, we report that a small molecule, SR-18292, increases PGC-1a leading to enhanced fetal hemoglobin expression in human erythroid cells, ß-globin yeast artificial chromosome mice, and sickle cell disease mice. In SR-18292-treated sickle mice, sickled red blood cells are significantly reduced, and disease complications are alleviated. The primary focus of this research is the proposition of a methodological framework for the clinical application of the long COVID symptoms and severity score (LC-SSS). This tool is not just a self-reported assessment instrument developed and validated but serves as a standardized, quantifiable means to monitor the diverse and persistent symptoms frequently observed in individuals with long COVID. A 3-stage process was used to develop, validate, and establish scoring standards for the LC-SSS. Validation measures included correlations with other patient-reported measures, confirmatory factor analysis, Cronbach's α for internal consistency, and test-retest reliability. Scoring standards were determined using K-means clustering, with comparative assessments made against hierarchical clustering and the Gaussian Mixture Model. The LC-SSS showed correlations with EuroQol 5-Dimension 5-Level (r s = −0.55), EuroQol visual analog scale (r s = −0.368), Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (r s = 0.538), Beck Anxiety Inventory (r s = 0.689), and Insomnia Severity Index (r s = 0.516), confirming its construct validity. Structural validity was good with a comparative fit index of 0.969, with Cronbach's α of 0.93 indicating excellent internal consistency. Test-retest reliability was also satisfactory (intraclass correlation coefficient 0.732). K-means clustering identified 3 distinct severity categories in individuals living with long COVID, providing a basis for personalized treatment strategies. The LC-SSS provides a robust and valid tool for assessing long COVID. A distinct coal break occurs widely in the late Early Jurassic in Central Asia, the cause of which, however, is still debated largely due to the uncertainty of its age constraint. In the Junggar Basin of northwestern China, this coal break coincides with the Sangonghe Formation, which is well exposed along the basin margins, and is mainly composed of lacustrine deposits rich in a variety of fossils, including plants, pollens and spores, bivalves, clam shrimps, insects and some vertebrates. Here we name them as the Sangonghe biota and review their biostratigraphic framework. The Sangonghe biota constrains the Sangonghe Formation to the late Pliensbachian to the early Aalenian. Abundant thermophilous plants and Classopollis, together with frequent occurrences of red beds and carbonate nodules in the middle part of the Sangonghe Formation, are indicative of an arid climate in Central Asia at that time. This arid interlude should be responsible for the coal break, which may be related to the global warming in the early Toarcian. However, more precise dating evidence is needed to substantiate this. Tezepelumab is a human monoclonal antibody that blocks the activity of thymic stromal lymphopoietin. This analysis assessed the suitability of a fixed‐dose regimen of tezepelumab 210 mg every 4 weeks (Q4W) in adults and adolescents with severe, uncontrolled asthma. A population pharmacokinetic model was developed using data from 1368 patients with asthma or healthy participants enrolled in 8 clinical studies (phases 1‐3). Tezepelumab exposure‐efficacy relationships were analyzed in the phase 3 NAVIGATOR study (NCT03347279), using asthma exacerbation rates over 52 weeks and changes in pre‐bronchodilator forced expiratory volume in 1 s at week 52. Tezepelumab pharmacokinetics were well characterized by a 2‐compartment linear disposition model with first‐order absorption and elimination following subcutaneous and intravenous administration at 2.1‐420 and 210‐700 mg, respectively. There were no clinically relevant effects on tezepelumab pharmacokinetics from age (≥12 years), sex, race/ethnicity, renal or hepatic function, disease severity (inhaled corticosteroid dose level), concomitant asthma medication use, smoking history, or anti‐drug antibodies. Body weight was the most influential covariate on tezepelumab exposure, but no meaningful differences in efficacy or safety were observed across body weight quartiles in patients with asthma who received tezepelumab 210 mg subcutaneously Q4W. There was no apparent relationship between tezepelumab exposure and efficacy at this dose regimen, suggesting that it is on the plateau of the exposure‐response curve of tezepelumab. Phthalate isomers are key intermediates in the biodegradation of pollutants including waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastics and plasticizers. So far, an increasing number of phthalate isomer-degrading strains have been isolated, and their degradation pathways show significant diversity. In this paper, we comprehensively review the current status of research on the degrading bacteria, degradation characteristics, aerobic and anaerobic degradation pathways, and degradation genes (clusters) of phthalate isomers, and discuss the current shortcomings and challenges. Moreover, the degradation process of phthalate isomers produces many important aromatic precursor molecules, which can be used to produce higher-value derivative chemicals, and the modification of their degradation pathways holds good prospects. Odorant receptors (ORs) and taste receptors (TRs) are expressed primarily in the nose and tongue in which they transduce electrical signals to the brain. Advances in deciphering the dietary component-sensing mechanisms in the nose and tongue prompted research on the role of gut chemosensory cells. Acting as the pivotal interface between the body and dietary cues, gut cells "smell" and "taste" dietary components and metabolites by taking advantage of chemoreceptors—ORs and TRs, to maintain physiological homeostasis. Here, we reviewed this novel field, highlighting the latest discoveries pertinent to gut ORs and TRs responding to dietary components, their impacts on gut hormone secretion, and the mechanisms involved. Recent studies indicate that gut cells sense dietary components including fatty acid, carbohydrate, and phytochemical by activating relevant ORs, thereby modulating GLP-1, PYY, CCK, and 5-HT secretion. Similarly, gut sweet, umami, and bitter receptors can regulate the gut hormone secretion and maintain homeostasis in response to dietary components. A deeper understanding of the favorable influence of dietary components on gut hormone secretion via gut ORs and TRs, coupled with the facts that gut hormones are involved in diverse physiological or pathophysiological phenomena, may ultimately lead to a promising treatment for various human diseases. Background: As a chronic skin disease, psoriasis often affects the physical, psychological and social status of the patient, which in turn impacts on their experience of illness and needs. However, there is no review of qualitative research that integrates and analyses the experiences and needs of these three influences from a holistic perspective. Methods: This review follows the ENTREQ guidelines. Six English databases (JBI, Cochrane Library, PubMed, PsyINFO, CINAHL and Embase) and three Chinese databases (CNKI, VIP and Wanfang) were searched from January 2012 to October 2022. Literature was included if it was relevant to the experience of illness and caring needs of patients with psoriasis. The JBI‐QARI was used to rate the quality of included studies. Results: Eleven studies were included in the meta‐synthesis. Four analytical themes were identified for analysis: physical challenges, psychological discomfort, social phenomena and caring needs. Conclusions: The combined physical, psychological and social effects of psoriasis and the consequent caring needs should be emphasised. Health professionals, including doctors and nurses, should be aware of the multiple changes in patients and their coping strategies, provide information about psoriasis, monitor and follow‐up regularly over time and obtain feedback to inform further treatment and care so as to develop high‐quality therapeutic interventions to help and guide patients with their coping strategies. Relevance to Clinical Practice: These findings describe the physical, psychological and social experiences of illness and caring needs of patients with psoriasis. Healthcare professionals should be more aware of patients' easily overlooked psychological and social distress, providing prompt attention and recognition of patients' experiences and needs, offering relevant assistance and support and enhancing daily, regular follow‐up to help them improve their understanding of and ability to manage their illness. Based on the theory of fluid mechanics, the lubrication performance of micro‐textured hydrostatic bearings is derived. Under extreme operating conditions, the lubrication performance of clearance oil film without micro‐texture and with rectangular and triangular micro‐textures added to the oil sealing edge is simulated, and the experimental verification of the lubrication performance of the double rectangular cavity without micro‐texture is conducted. The results show that regardless of whether micro‐texture is added or not, the oil film pressure is distributed in a stepped shape, and the highest temperature of the oil film occurs at the intersection of the oil sealing edges on the outside of the double rectangular cavity. When the maximum depth of triangular micro‐texture is 1.5 mm and the dimension of a segment is 1 mm, triangular micro‐texture with an obtuse angle of 103° has the best comprehensive lubrication performance, but its oil film bearing capacity still does not exceed that of rectangular micro‐texture.
