Promoting a dialogue between the theoretical-methodological assumptions of Oral History, especially in the field of Mathematics Education, mostly by the Research Group Oral History and Mathematics Education (Ghoem), and the cartographic methodology as a possible inspiration for research in this field is our goal in this text. Therefore, we discuss works that, among other topics, deal with the potential of Oral History in Mathematics Education research and the defense of a methodology composed during the research paths. We emphasize the inseparability between research and production of oneself with/in the research movement; the potential to launch oneself into the movement, even if the paths are tortuous; the defense of a methodology produced jointly with/in the work and the subject that operates it. With this, we hope that, in the end, the reader will understand how Oral History with a cartographic inspiration can enhance research and training, also get close to the ways in which we have operated at Ghoem.
