Cylindrical magnetic nanowires (NWs) constitute a viable component of 3D nanoscale magnetic devices and engineering their response to external stimuli is necessary for their future functionalization. Here, by means of micromagnetic simulations, we study the dynamical response of vortex–antivortex and Bloch point domain walls under the action of an applied magnetic field in curved arc-shaped NWs varying the saturation magnetization value. Our results provide evidence that, in the range considered in this work, the curvature has no influence on the critical diameters, delimiting different domain wall types. However, it has a relevant effect on the domain wall dynamics. Specifically, the vortex–antivortex domain wall oscillates back and forth while rotating around the nanowire, and the frequency and amplitude can be tuned by curvature and applied field. On the contrary, Bloch point domain wall dynamics does not show any oscillatory behavior, and the domain wall is rapidly expelled from the nanowire with velocities similar to that of the straight cylindrical nanowires. We investigate the dynamics of a transverse domain wall (DW) in a bent nanostripe under an external field and spin-polarized current. Besides the standard Walker breakdown phenomenon, we show the emergence of a second Walker-like critical field, which depends on both the curvature of the nanostripe and its cross section geometry. At this field, DW can change its phase, i.e., can be re-oriented along another direction with respect to the nanostripe face. Additionally, we show that the amplitude and frequency of the DW oscillations above the Walker breakdown field also depend on the nanostripe geometry and can be controlled by external stimuli. Our results evidence that the inclusion of local curvatures in nanostripes is an important component for applications that demand an adequate control of the DW phase by the proper choice of external stimuli. Brazil is home to a wide variety of flora, including several lesser known species, such as araçá that were processed in this study using two green technologies consecutively: supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) for nonpolar fraction and pressurized liquid extraction. For polar fraction, the experiments followed a central composite design involving ethanol as solvent, with temperature and static time in each bath as independent variables. Both extracts were analyzed for antioxidant and antimicrobial activities. Total phenolics content (TPC) was determined for all ethanol extracts. In the araçá essential oil (AEO) obtained by SFE, the extraction yield was 2.33%. The three major compounds of AEO were α‐pinene (20.75%), p‐cymene (20.50%), and o‐cymene (20.05%). In ethanol extracts, the high yield (14.49%) was obtained at 74 °C/6 min and the major TPC (136.95 mg GAE/100 g) at 60 °C/9 min. Ethanol extracts presented good antioxidant activity (EC50 = 6.37 mg/mL) at 74 °C/6 min. AEO was unable to reduce DPPH• concentration by 50%. Both extract types presented an inhibitory effect against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Bacillus cereus, while only the ethanol extracts presented effect against Listeria monocytogenes. This work had the aim to present the innovation of the use of a whole typical Brazilian fruit that gives rise to extracts with excellent properties for employment in both the pharmaceutical and food industries. The objectives of this research were to obtain blue shark liver oil using supercritical CO2 and to characterize the physicochemical parameters of the oil, and the contents of squalene and vitamin A. Supercritical extractions were performed at 50 and 60 °C and pressures from 100 to 300 bar. The oil yield obtained was up to 60% and presented a profile equivalent to that of refined oils for density (0.920 - 0.922 g/mL); viscosity (52.55 - 56.47 Pas.s); refractive index (1.4760 - 1.4785); acid value (1.13 - 2.22% oleic acid); peroxides (10.47 - 24.04 meq of active O2/kg of oil); saponification value (171.37 - 556.03 mg KOH/g oil), and iodine value (120.05 - 149.21g I2/100g oil). The fatty acid profile indicated a majority of unsaturated fatty acids. High levels of squalene and vitamin A corroborate the high nutritional quality of this oil from an underexploited byproduct with great processing potential. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
