Reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and its composite films have aroused intense interest in electrical heating and temperature sensing fields, but the working temperature is usually limited because the internal layer-stacked structure is breakable at high temperature. In order to promote structure stability, a series of Al 2 O 3 fiber/rGO composite films were developed. It is found that gaseous products mainly including CO 2 and CO during thermal reduction contribute to pores, bulges and intervals in rGO films, while appropriate Al 2 O 3 fiber has an adhesion effect on rGO sheets and tightens them together, in which case defects can hardly form and the layered structure is significantly compacted. Therefore, the degree of stacking order and tensile strength tend to increase, resulting in the improvement of structure stability and decrease of electrical resistivity. However, excess Al 2 O 3 fiber makes the formation of debris and cracks, causing the deterioration of conductivity and mechanical properties. With 20 wt% Al 2 O 3 fiber, the composite films can bear higher heating voltage than pure rGO films and stabilize at 634.65 °C under 36 V, which also keep a good linearity between resistance and temperature from 25 to 600 °C, exhibiting a considerable temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) with −1.70×10−3 /°C at room temperature. • Al 2 O 3 fiber/reduced graphene oxide composite films are developed to improve structure stability and working temperature. • With 20 wt% Al 2 O 3 fiber, the composite films can reach the steady-state temperature at 634.65 °C under the voltage of 36 V. • The composite films keep good linearity between resistance and temperature below 600 °C, and the best TCR is −1.70×10−3 /°C. Friendships are the keystone of social networks. Predicting potential friendships of users in social networks has become a critical task in the real world. However, the computational models proposed by previous researchers do not effectively capture the behavior preferences of users, which limits the recommendation results. Moreover, the process of generating predicted values has not considered the cross-information among different features. Therefore, we design a potential friendship prediction model based on graph convolutional autoencoder and factorization machine (GCAFM). The GCAFM model uses a graph convolutional autoencoder to learn the hidden feature of users, which can make the similar users as close as possible in the embedding space. The hidden feature of the target users is then subjected to an element-to-element multiplication operation, and the product results are subsequently inputting into a factorization machine model that capable of feature crossover to get the predicted friendship. In addition, we use the federated learning framework to train the GCAFM model, which ensures the privacy of social network data. The experimental results on Douban and FilmTrust social network datasets show that the GCAFM model exceeds four comparison models under various kinds of evaluation metrics. In this article, the complex dynamic behavior of a nonlinear aeroelastic airfoil model with cubic nonlinear pitching stiffness is investigated by applying a theoretical method and numerical simulation method. First, through calculating the Jacobian of the nonlinear system at equilibrium, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions when this system has two classes of degenerated equilibria. They are described as: (1) one pair of purely imaginary roots and one pair of conjugate complex roots with negative real parts; (2) two pairs of purely imaginary roots under nonresonant conditions. Then, with the aid of center manifold and normal form theories, we not only derive the stability conditions of the initial and nonzero equilibria, but also get the explicit expressions of the critical bifurcation lines resulting in static bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation. Specifically, quasi-periodic motions on 2D and 3D tori are found in the neighborhoods of the initial and nonzero equilibria under certain parameter conditions. Grouted connections (GCs) are transitional elements that have been extensively employed in offshore wind turbine support structure to transfer loads from superstructure to foundation. However, interface debonding defects between steel tube and grout layer have an adverse effect on the durability and fatigue resistance of the GC. An effective interface debonding defects detection approach for GC is necessary. In this study, interface debonding defects detection approach based on Lamb wave energy leakage was proposed and validated numerically and experimentally. Numerical studies on Lamb wave energy leakage models and the GC models were performed to study mechanism of detection approach. Lamb wave is excited on the surface, and stress wave fields and time-history response of models were extracted and compared. Experimental investigations were carried out to verify the applicability of the proposed approach in practice. A scaled GC specimen was constructed and Lamb wave was excited by the PZT patches mounted on the surface of GC specimen. The output voltage of surface-mounted PZT sensors under different axial loads were compared. Both numerical and experimental results show that the proposed approach is effective to the detection of interface debonding defects. With the rapid development of the offshore wind power industry, large-diameter grouted connections (GCs) with high-strength grout have become a developing trend. Previous studies on ordinary-strength and small-scale GCs may not meet current engineering needs. A numerical study was carried out to investigate how the axial mechanical properties of a large-diameter GC that has high-strength grout are influenced by geometric parameters, such as radial stiffness, the height to space ratio (h / s) of shear keys, and the length to diameter ratio (L g / D p). The finite element model was verified against the results of the experimental test. The mechanical properties of ultimate bearing capacity, interface transfer strength, ductility, nominal average stress and grout contact pressure distribution are discussed in detail. The results suggest that the increase in radial stiffness can strengthen the axial ultimate bearing capacity and ductility of the GC. Besides, the h / s of the shear keys can affect the ultimate bearing capacity and ductility of GC by influencing the number of diagonal compression struts. Although the L g / D p can significantly improve the axial ultimate bearing capacity of GCs, conversely, the interface transfer strength is continuously reduced. In recent years, carbon fiber-reinforced polymers (CFRP) have earned extensive attention in the field of structural rehabilitation. Adhesive bonding, as a prevalent technique, plays a crucial role in utilizing CFRP for strengthening steel structures. Nevertheless, debonding defects, commonly arising within the bond region between CFRP and host structures, hold the potential to induce the premature debonding failure of adhesively bonded joints. As a result, this research attempts to propose a strip-based numerical method using the explicit 4th-order Runge-Kutta technique (strip-based RK4) to investigate the full-range bond behavior of CFRP-to-steel single-lap joints with multiple arbitrary debonding defects. Also, three-dimensional (3D) finite element models (FEMs) of fully bonded single-lap joints were established in conjunction with cohesive zone modeling (CZM) to simulate the single-lap shear test reported in literature, based on which joints containing debonding defects were further modeled. Predictions from the proposed methodology were subsequently compared with test results and FE analysis to confirm its accuracy. Thereafter, the parametric analysis was carried out to investigate the effects of parameters, including bond length and defect position, on the bond behavior of the single-lap joint. The results indicate that the proposed strip-based RK4 method is accurate, with errors within 2% compared to FE analysis, and computationally efficient, with runtime being less than 50% of FE analysis. • Chaohu duck is an important germplasm genetic resource. • High-throughput sequencing reveals the characteristics of Chaohu duck mitogenome. • The D-loop region of Chaohu duck has different haplotypes. • Chaohu duck might originate from Anas platyrhynchos. A complete mitochondrial genome sequence is important for the accurate determination of phylogenetic relationships. Chaohu duck is a dominant native breed in Anhui Province, China. We aimed to ascertain the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Chaohu duck via high-throughput sequencing and primer walking. Phylogenetic analysis of Chaohu duck was performed following Kimura 2-parameter model. The total length of the mitogenome was 16,597 bp, and comprised 29.2 %A, 22.2 % T, 32.8 % C, and 15.8 % G. It included 2 ribosomal RNA genes, 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes and a control region (D-loop). Furthermore, the haplotype diversity and nucleotide diversity values were 0.9028(Hd) and 0.01162(Pi) respectively. This indicates that Chaohu duck has high population diversity. Twenty-two haplotypes were identified in sixty Chaohu ducks which were divided into two haplogroups. Therefore, we inferred that Chaohu duck may originate from Anas platyrhynchos , and was influenced by Anas poecilorhyncha during evolution. BACKGROUND: Colposcopy is one of the common methods of cervical cancer screening. The type of cervical transformation zone is considered one of the important factors for grading colposcopic findings and choosing treatment. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to develop a deep learning-based method for automatic classification of cervical transformation zone from colposcopy images. METHODS: We proposed a multiscale feature fusion classification network to classify cervical transformation zone, which can extract features from images and fuse them at multiple scales. Cervical regions were first detected from original colposcopy images and then fed into our multiscale feature fusion classification network. RESULTS: The results on the test dataset showed that, compared with the state-of-the-art image classification models, the proposed classification network had the highest classification accuracy, reaching 88.49%, and the sensitivity to type 1, type 2 and type 3 were 90.12%, 85.95% and 89.45%, respectively, higher than the comparison methods. CONCLUSIONS: The proposed method can automatically classify cervical transformation zone in colposcopy images, and can be used as an auxiliary tool in cervical cancer screening. Simple Summary: The phylogenetic status of the Huaibei grey donkey based on its complete mitochondrial genome, phylogeny, and maternal origin has not been fully established. This study reports the mitochondrial DNA diversity of the Huaibei grey donkey breed and presents its origin and genetic characterization. The Huaibei grey donkey's complete mitogenome was 16,680 bp in length, containing 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs, 13 PCGs, and 1 D-loop region. The median-joining network and phylogenetic tree indicated two possible maternal lineages, with the Somali lineage as the most probable domestication center of Huaibei grey donkey. These results provide novel information on the origin and phylogeny of the Huaibei grey donkey and can be used as a reference for breeding and conservation management. The Huaibei grey donkey (HGD) is an endangered species and a vital native breed in Anhui Province, China. However, its complete mitogenome, phylogeny, and maternal origin remain unclear. The objectives of this study were to detect the genetic diversity of the HGD and investigate its phylogenetic relationship with other breeds to inform conservation management. The complete mitogenome of the HGD was sequenced through next-generation sequencing, and the most variable region in the mitochondrial DNA displacement-loop (D-loop) was amplified via a polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Next, we used the median-joining network (MJN) to calculate the genetic relationships among populations and the neighbor-jointing method to build a phylogenetic tree and speculate as to its origin. The results showed that the mitogenome contains 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs, 13 PCGs, and 1 D-loop region. Analyzing the D-loop region of the HGDs, we identified 23 polymorphic sites and 11 haplotypes. The haplotype and nucleotide diversity were 0.87000 (Hd) and 0.02115 (Pi), respectively. The MJN analysis indicated that the HGD potentially has two maternal lineages, and phylogenetic analysis indicated that the Somali lineage could be the most probable domestication center for this breed. Therefore, our mitogenome analysis highlights the high genetic diversity of the HGD, which may have originated from the Somali wild ass, as opposed to the Asian wild ass. Biochar derived from corn stalk doping with activated carbon was produced by microwave-assisted pyrolysis and applied to sorb volatile organic compounds (VOCs: benzene and o-xylene). Specific surface area (SSA), total pore volume (TPV) and micropore volume (MV) of microwave biochar increased with increasing microwave power with the maximum values 325.2 m2·g−1, 0.181 mL·g−1 and 0.1420 mL·g−1, respectively. Adsorption capacities of benzene and o-xylene on microwave biochar ranged 6.82–54.75 mg·g−1 and 7.43–48.73 mg·g−1, which were separate positively related with SSA, TPV, and MV. Benzene adsorption was mainly dominated by surface interaction and partition mechanisms, while o-xylene adsorption was governed by pore filling. The adsorption capacities of microwave biochar for benzene and o-xylene decreased by only 0.30% and 0.99% on the 5th cycle that illustrated the reasonably good reusability of microwave biochar. Herein, we report a facile and label-free method for sensitive and specific determination of prostate cancer biomarker sarcosine via using photoluminescent bimetallic Au/Cu nanoplatelets (AuCu NPs) to construct an inner filter effect (IFE)-based photoluminescence (PL) sensing platform. The AuCu NPs were formed by the cysteine-induced co-reduction reaction, which displayed bright PL with an emission peak at 560 nm. Meanwhile, the Cu(I) doping caused a maximum 25-fold enhancement of quantum yield (QY), compared with the native Au(I) complexes, i.e., from 0.85 to 21.5%. By integrating the AuCu NPs with p-phenylenediamine (PPD) oxidation reaction, an IFE-based sensor for sarcosine detection was constructed. In this method, sarcosine is oxidized under the catalysis of sarcosine oxidase (SOx) to yield H 2 O 2. The latter further oxidizes PPD to form 2,5-diamino-N,N′-bis(p-aminophenyl)-l,4-benzoquinone di-imine (PPDox) in the presence of horseradish peroxidase (HRP). The UV–vis absorption spectrum of the PPDox can overlap well with the excitation and emission spectra of the AuCu NPs, resulting in the efficient quenching of the AuCu NPs via the IFE effect. Therefore, this IFE-based AuCu NPs/SOx/PPD/HRP sensing platform can be used for highly sensitive and specific sensing of sarcosine. The sensing platform showed two linear regions of the PL intensity of the AuCu NPs versus the concentration of sarcosine in the range of 0.5–5 μM and 5–100 μM with a detection limit (LOD) of 0.12 μM (S/N = 3). In biological systems, abnormal levels of hypochlorite (ClO−) could result in cell dysfunctions. Herein, we report a facile, one-step and green approach based on the versatile small biomolecule cysteine both serving as reducing agent and ligand for synthesizing the strongly photoluminencent and water-soluble Au(I)–Ag(I)-cysteine complexes nanoplatelets (Au(I)–Ag(I)-Cys nanoplatelets) for intracellular hypochlorite detection. Multiple spectroscopic and microscopical tools have been used to characterize the resultant Au(I)–Ag(I)-Cys nanoplatelets. It was found that with the cysteine-assisted synthesis approach, the Ag(I) doping to the Au(I) complexes could form the supramolecular organometallic nanoplatelets. Inside, the Au(I)–Ag(I) metallophilic interactions showing an Au to Ag charge transfer property were formed, thereby enhancing the photoluminescence (PL) intensity via the charge transfer from the bioligand's S to the metal-metal center. The quantum yield (QY) was measured to show a maximum 16-fold enhancement (i.e., from 0.85 to 13.8%). Interestingly, in the presence of ClO−, the metal-thiolate ligand structure of the as-synthesized Au(I)–Ag(I)-Cys nanoplatelets could be oxidatively damaged, causing the PL quenching, thereby producing the effect of biorecognition towards ClO− anions. The ClO−-induced PL quenching produced two linear regions at ClO− concentrations of 0.01–5.0 μM and 5.0–1000 μM with a limit of detection (LOD) of 8.0 nM (S/N = 3). The ClO−-induced PL quenching was specific over the other typical reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the potential interfering substances in biological samples. In addition, the Au(I)–Ag(I)-Cys nanoplatelets had good biocompatibility. Background: Congenital megaduodenum is a rare disorder; however, its prenatal diagnosis has not been reported previously. We report the case of an abdominal cystic mass in a fetus that was later diagnosed as megaduodenum.Case Presentation: An abdominal cystic mass was found during ultrasonography of a fetus at 11 weeks of gestation. The mass progressively enlarged with gestation. The amniotic fluid volume decreased and then returned to normal. During the last prenatal ultrasound examination, the mass was observed communicating with the stomach; therefore, duodenal dilation was suspected. Finally, the patient was diagnosed with megaduodenum caused by a developmental defect in the nerve plexus.Conclusions: Congenital megaduodenum is a differential diagnosis of massive fetal abdominal cystic masses. • Glass crystallization process was firstly observed by laser scanning microscope. • Crystallization kinetics parameters were investigated by non-isothermal methods. • LiAlSi 3 O 8 grow to irregular hexagonal with 75 um as temperature increases to 980 °C. • The glass transition and crystallization both have remarkable kinetics effects. In this work, we have observed the crystallization process of Li 2 O-Al 2 O 3 -SiO 2 glass using a high-temperature confocal laser scanning microscope and studied its crystallization kinetics with differential thermal analysis. The value of activation energy has been calculated out using Kissinger and Flynn–Wall–Ozawa methods. The results show that LiAlSi 3 O 8 crystal particles precipitate at 850 °C, and then gradually grow to 75 um with the irregular hexagonal structure until 980 °C. The activation energy of two exothermal peaks through Kissinger method is 121.78 ± 13.42 and 189.74 ± 7.76 kJ/mol. Glass transition and crystallization both have remarkable kinetics effects, and kinetic crystallization parameter, Avrami index (n), indicates that crystallization mechanism of two exothermal peaks corresponds to one-dimensional and surface crystallization, respectively. Background. The present work aims at formulating the melatonin-loaded nanoparticles (MTNPs) exhibiting the controlled-release and pH-sensitivity to repurpose the use of melatonin in the treatment of depressive-like behaviors and hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis dysregulation. Methods. MTNPs were characterized for the size, drug incorporation, and in vitro release in the different pH environments. Its merits were in vivo tested on the pinealectomized rats presenting the depressive-like behaviors and the abnormal HPA axis activity by calculating the improvement on saccharin preference, swimming immobility time, and the negative feedback of HPA axis. Results. Results revealed that MTNPs showed nanometer size, 15.77% of drug loading, 33.82% of encapsulation efficiency, the different controlled-release profiles in different pH environments (pH 1.2, pH 6.8, and pH 7.4), more sensitivity release in simulated intestinal fluid (pH 7.4) and blood (pH 6.8), and less sensitivity release in simulated gastric fluid (pH 1.2). Furthermore, MTNPs displayed better antidepressant actions in reducing the immobility time of forced swimming test, increasing the preference for saccharin, and sensitizing the blunt negative feedback of HPA axis, when compared to the free melatonin. Conclusions. The controlled-release nanoparticles is shown to be an effective improvement on the dosage form for melatonin, which is worthy of futuristic and complete evaluation. Abstract Hydrochars derived from hickory wood and peanut hull through hydrothermal carbonization were activated with H 3 PO 4 and KOH to improve their performance as a volatile organic compound (VOC) adsorbent. Polar acetone and nonpolar cyclohexane were used as representative VOCs. The VOC adsorptive capacities of the activated hydrochars (50.57–159.66 mg⋅g−1) were greater than that of the nonactivated hydrochars (15.98–25.36 mg⋅g−1), which was mainly caused by the enlargement of surface area. The significant linear correlation (R2 = 0.984 on acetone, and R2 = 0.869 on cyclohexane) between BET surface areas of hydrochars and their VOC adsorption capacities, together with the obvious adsorption exothermal peak of differential scanning calorimetry curve confirmed physical adsorption as the dominating mechanism. Finally, the reusability of activated hydrochar was tested on H 3 PO 4 activated hickory hydrochar (HHP), which had higher acetone and cyclohexane adsorption capacities. After five continuous adsorption desorption cycles, the adsorptive capacities of acetone and cyclohexane on HHP decreased by 6.2% and 7.8%, respectively. The slight decline in adsorption capacity confirmed the reusability of activated hydrochar as a VOC sorbent. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) severely threaten human health and the ecological environment because most of them are toxic, mutagenic, and carcinogenic. The persistent increase of VOCs together with the stringent regulations make the reduction of VOC emissions more imperative. Up to now, numerous VOC treatment technologies have emerged, such as incineration, condensation, biological degradation, absorption, adsorption, and catalysis oxidation et al. Among them, the adsorption technology has been recognized as an efficient and economical control strategy because it has the potential to recover and reuse both adsorbent and adsorbate. Due to their large specific surface area, rich porous structure, and high adsorption capacity, carbonaceous adsorbents are widely used in gas purification, especially with respect to VOC treatment and recovery. This review discusses recent research developments of VOC adsorption onto a variety of engineered carbonaceous adsorbents, including activated carbon, biochar, activated carbon fiber, carbon nanotube, graphene and its derivatives, carbon-silica composites, ordered mesoporous carbon, etc. The key factors influence the VOC adsorption are analyzed with focuses on the physiochemical characters of adsorbents, properties of adsorbates as well as the adsorption conditions. • H 2 O 2 and NH 4 OH modification improved the physicochemical characteristics of ball milled biochar. • Adsorption amount of phenyl VOCs onto biochar was 10.96–130.21 mg/g. • Biochar morphology characteristics and VOC properties affected the adsorption. • O- and N-doped ball-milled biochars showed good reusability. In addition, the ball milled biochars, especially CN600-O, showed higher acidity and polarity than CN600. The VOC adsorption amount onto biochars was 10.96–130.21 mg/g. CN600-O and CN600-N had high uptake of the VOCs and reached 100.07–111.79 mg/g and 110.49–130.21 mg/g, respectively. CN600-N showed the best performance with P-xylene adsorption up to 130.21 mg/g. VOC adsorption onto the CN600-O and CN600-N were mainly governed by surface adsorption and associated with morphology characteristics of the biochars as well as VOC properties such as boiling point and molecular size. Five cycles of adsorption-desorption experiments showed that CN600-O and CN600-N had good reusability with the reuse efficiencies of 88.01 %–92.21 % and 92.19 %–95.39 %, respectively.
