A novel well-defined precatalyst for ammonia-selective catalytic reduction of NOx (NH3-SCR), namely, [W(≡CtBu)(CH2tBu)3]/CeO2, was prepared by surface organometallic chemistry and then characterized. Due to the high dispersion of the active phase, this catalyst showed excellent activity after calcination at 500 °C, described by up to 99% conversion of NOx, high N2 selectivity, broad operation temperature window (225–500 °C), and extremely high durability for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3. A series of direct Z‐scheme g‐C3N4‐BiOI photocatalysts with different BiOI contents were constructed by in‐situ depositing BiOI nanoplates on the surface of g‐C3N4 nanosheets. Light absorption results indicated that the introduction of BiOI can improve the visible‐light absorption of g‐C3N4. By analyzing the transient photocurrent responses, electrochemical impedance and photoluminescence (PL) emission spectra, it was disclosed that g‐C3N4‐BiOI Z‐scheme structure not only decreases the recombination rate of photogenerated charge carriers but also remains the electrons with higher reduction ability and holes with higher oxidizing ability. The results of photocatalytic disinfection of Escherichia coli (E. coli) under visible light irradiation indicated that g‐C3N4‐BiOI exhibits dramatically enhanced photocatalytic activity when compared to single g‐C3N4 and BiOI. And the optimal loading amount of BiOI corresponding to the highest photocatalytic performance of g‐C3N4‐BiOI is 20 %. A highly efficient Z-scheme photocatalyst SnS2–Au–CdS was fabricated by photoreduction and thiourea medium deposition methods. It was found that Au nanoparticles were successfully anchored on the surface of SnS2, and CdS nanoparticles were further deposited on the surface Au nanoparticles by the strong interaction of S–Au. Compared to SnS2, CdS, SnS2–Au, and SnS2–CdS, Z-scheme structure SnS2–Au–CdS shows the best photocatalytic performance for methyl orange (MO) degradation and Cr(VI) reduction under visible light irradiation. The outstanding photocatalytic performance of SnS2–Au–CdS can be ascribed to the special Z-scheme structure which not only improves the separation of photogenerated charge carriers but also preserves its high redox ability. A series of HPW/CeO2 catalysts generated from 12-tungstophosphoric acid, H3PW12O40 (HPW), supported on ceria and presenting different tungsten loadings (2, 4.5, 9, 16, and 40 wt% W) were prepared and characterized by N2 physisorption, XRD, IR, Raman, and UV-Vis. The different characterization techniques suggested that low loading of tungsten resulted in mainly isolated sites, while high tungsten loading produced polymeric or tungsten clusters. Those materials exhibited high activity in NH3-SCR of NOx into N2. Moreover, the series of experiments indicated that low loading in tungsten (2% HPW/CeO2) displayed the highest activity with a remarkable N2 selectivity (99%) at medium-high temperature (300–515 °C), owing to the high amount of monomeric tungstate coverage on the catalyst surface. Polygonatum rhizomes are rich in various compounds with many biological activities and are widely used in functional foods and pharmaceutical products. In order to screen for superior Polygonatum cyrtonema Hua (P. cyrtonema) germplasm and also to elucidate the nutritional and medicinal values of rhizomes, the metabolic composition and quality traits of rhizomes from different germplasms and age sections of P. cyrtonema were analysed by widely targeted metabolomics, and the molecular mechanism of triacylglycerol synthesis was explored. The results showed that the different germplasms and age sections of P. cyrtonema were rich in different nutritional and medicinal components. Of these, the broad-leaved green stem (GK) germplasm is rich in polysaccharides, alkaloids, and lipids; the pointed-leaved green stem (JL) germplasm is rich in flavonoids, steroids, and amino acids, while the pointed-leaved purple stem (JZ) germplasm contains more phenolic acids. The one-year (AT) age section is rich in polysaccharides, steroids, organic acids, and lipids; the three years (CT) age section contains more flavonoids, alkaloids, and amino acid metabolites. Lipids were significantly enriched in the broad-leaved green stem germplasm and the one-year age section. Interestingly, the highest accumulation of triacylglycerols, an important component of lipids, was also found in the GK germplasm and the AT age section. Nineteen, 14, and 13 members of the glycerol-3-phosphate acyltransferase (GPAT), lysophosphatidic acid acyltransferase (LPAT), and diacylglycerol acyltransferase (DGAT) gene families, respectively, involved in triacylglycerol synthesis were also identified. The quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) results further suggested that the differentially expressed PcDGAT1, PcDGAT2.4, PcGPAT9.1, PcLPAT2.9, and PcLPAT4.3 genes may play important roles in triacylglycerol synthesis in P. cyrtonema. Abstract As a typical advanced oxidation technology, the Fenton reaction has been employed for the disinfection, owing to the strong oxidizability of hydroxyl radicals (·OH). However, the conventional Fenton system always exhibits a low H 2 O 2 decomposition efficiency, leading to a low production yield of ·OH, which makes the disinfection effect unsatisfactory. Herein, we develop a molybdenum sulfide (MoS 2) co-catalytic Fenton reaction for rapid and highly efficient inactivation of Escherichia coli K-12 (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). As a co-catalyst in the Fe(II)/H 2 O 2 Fenton system, MoS 2 can greatly facilitate the Fe(III)/Fe(II) cycle reaction by the exposed Mo4+ active sites, which significantly improves the H 2 O 2 decomposition efficiency for the ·OH production. As a result, the MoS 2 co-catalytic Fenton system can reach up to 83.37% of inactivation rate of E. coli just in 1 min and 100% of inactivation rate within 30 min, which increased by 2.5 times than that of the conventional Fenton reaction. Furthermore, the ·OH as the primary reactive oxygen species (ROS) in MoS 2 co-catalytic Fenton reaction was measured and verified by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and photoluminescence (PL). It is demonstrated an increased amount of ·OH generated from the decomposition of H 2 O 2 in the presence of MoS 2 , which is responsible for the rapid and efficient inactivation of E. coli and S. aureus. This study provides a new perspective for rapid and highly efficient inactivation of bacteria in environmental remediation.
