An n-by-n real symmetric matrix $ H=[h_{i,j}] $ H = [ h i , j ] is said to be a Hankel matrix if $ h_{i,j}=h_{i-1,j+1} $ h i , j = h i − 1 , j + 1 , for each $ i=2,\ldots,n $ i = 2 , ... , n and $ j=1,\ldots,n-1 $ j = 1 , ... , n − 1. The symmetric nonnegative inverse eigenvalue problem (SNIEP) asks when a list $ \Lambda =\{\lambda _{1},\ldots,\lambda _{n}\} $ Λ = { λ 1 , ... , λ n } of real numbers is the spectrum of an n-by-n symmetric nonnegative matrix H. In this paper, we search for conditions on the list $ \Lambda =\{\lambda _{1},\ldots,\lambda _{n}\} $ Λ = { λ 1 , ... , λ n } for the matrix H to be Hankel. For n = 3, sufficient conditions are established. In particular, a necessary and sufficient condition is obtained if Λ is a list of three nonnegative numbers. Also, if $ \sum _{i=1}^{n}\lambda _{i}=0 $ ∑ i = 1 n λ i = 0 , we give conditions for realizability by a Hankel matrix. Finally, we present a special type of list that can serve as the spectrum of a Hankel nonnegative matrix with positive trace. An n × n matrix C is said to be centrosymmetric if it satisfies the relation JCJ = C, where J is the n × n counteridentity matrix. Centrosymmetric matrices have a rich eigenstructure that has been studied extensively in the literature. Many results for centrosymmetric matrices have been generalized to wider classes of matrices that arise in a wide variety of disciplines. In this paper, we obtain interesting spectral properties for nonnegative centrosymmetric matrices. We show how to change one single eigenvalue, two or three eigenvalues of an n × n nonnegative centrosymmetric matrix without changing any of the remaining eigenvalues, the nonnegativity, or the centrosymmetric structure. Moreover, our results allow partially answer some known questions given by [Guo W. Eigenvalues of nonnegative matrices. Linear Algebra Appl. 266;1997:261–270] and by [Guo S, Guo W. In this paper, for a simple undirected connected graph G, the concept of the distance Randić matrix of G is defined and basic properties on its spectrum are derived. Moreover, the distance Randić energy of G is introduced. Bounds on this energy are obtained and for those which are sharp the extremal graphs are characterized. Let K m be a complete graph of order m. For n , s fixed, n > s , let G p = K s ∨ (K p ∪ K n − s − p) be the graph obtained from K s and K p ∪ K n − s − p and the edges connecting each vertex of K s with every vertex of K p ∪ K n − s − p. This paper presents some extremal results on the spectral radius of D α (G) that generalize previous results on the spectral radii of the distance matrix and distance signless Laplacian matrix. Among all connected graphs G on n vertices with a vertex/edge connectivity at most s , it is proved that 1. there exists a unique α _ ∈ (3 4 , 3 n − s 4 n − 2 s) such that if α ∈ [ 0 , α _) then the minimal spectral radius of D α (G) is uniquely attained by G = G 1 , 2. there exists a unique α ‾ ∈ (3 4 , 3 n − s 4 n − 2 s) , α ‾ ≥ α _ , such that if α ∈ (α ‾ , 1) then the minimal spectral radius of D α (G) is uniquely attained by G = G ⌊ n − s 2 ⌋ , and 3. if α = 1 then the minimal spectral radius of Tr (G) is n − 1 + ⌈ n − s 2 ⌉ and it is uniquely attained by G = G ⌊ n − s 2 ⌋. Let G be a simple undirected connected graph. In this paper, new upper bounds on the distance Laplacian spectral radius of G are obtained. Moreover, new lower and upper hounds for the distance signless Laplacian spectral radius of G are derived. A list Λ = { λ 1 , ... , λ n } of complex numbers is said to be realizable if there exists an n × n nonnegative matrix A whose spectrum is Λ. In this case A is called a realizing matrix for Λ. The problem of characterizing all realizable lists Λ is known as the Nonnegative Inverse Eigenvalue Problem (NIEP). If A is required to be persymmetric , the Persymmetric Nonnegative Inverse Eigenvalue Problem (PNIEP) arises. In this paper, we show that the NIEP and the PNIEP are equivalent for any realizable list of three complex numbers. Furthermore, we give a new sufficient condition for a list of three complex numbers to be the spectrum of a persymmetric nonnegative matrix with prescribed diagonal entries. For some realizable lists of four complex numbers, we show that the NIEP and the PNIEP are equivalent. In general, we show that these problems are different. Let G be a simple undirected connected graph. Let D (G) be the distance matrix of G and let Tr (G) be the diagonal matrix of the vertex transmissions in G. Let α ∈ [ 0 , 1 ]. In S-Y. Cui et al. (2019) [7] the matrix D α (G) = α Tr (G) + (1 − α) D (G) is introduced and several properties are obtained. In this paper, new properties on the D α -matrix are derived including inequalities that involve the largest vertex transmission and the spectral radii of the distance matrix, distance signless Laplacian matrix and D α -matrix. The necessary and sufficient condition for the equality in each of the inequalities is given. Moreover, some results on the D α -matrix of a graph with independent sets of vertices sharing the same set of neighbors, including the case of a complete multipartite graph, are obtained. Abstract Given a graph H with vertices 1 , ... , s and a set of pairwise vertex disjoint graphs G 1 , ... , G s , the vertex i of H is assigned to G i. Let G be the graph obtained from the graphs G 1 , ... , G s and the edges connecting each vertex of G i with all the vertices of G j for all edge ij of H. The graph G is called the H-join of G 1 , ... , G s. Let M (G) be a matrix on a graph G. A general result on the eigenvalues of M (G) , when the all ones vector is an eigenvector of M (G i) for i = 1 , 2 , ... , s , is given. This result is applied to obtain the distance eigenvalues, the distance Laplacian eigenvalues and as well as the distance signless Laplacian eigenvalues of G when G 1 , ... , G s are regular graphs. Finally, we introduce the notions of the distance incidence energy and distance Laplacian-energy like of a graph and we derive sharp lower bounds on these two distance energies among all the connected graphs of prescribed order in terms of the vertex connectivity. Abstract: In this paper we give new sufficient conditions for the existence and construction of nonnegative matrices with prescribed elementary divisors, which drastically improve and contain some of the previous known conditions. We also show how to perturb complex eigenvalues of a nonnegative matrix while keeping its nonnegativity. These results allow us, under certain conditions, to easily decide if a given list is realizable with prescribed elementary divisors. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
