In the present study, an Enhanced SSA (ESSA) has been proposed where the parameter of the SSA technique, which balances the exploration and exploitation phases, has been modified. Additionally, the variable scaling factor is engaged to regulate the salp's position during the search procedure to minimize the random movement of salps. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the enhanced SSA (ESSA), a set of multimodal test functions are engaged. The statistical outcomes demonstrate that ESSA profits from local optima evasion and quick convergence speed, which aids the proposed ESSA algorithm to outclass the standard SSA and other recent algorithms. The fair analysis displays that ESSA delivers very promising results and outclass current methods. Next, frequency control of power systems is executed by designing a Combined Fuzzy PID (CFPID) controller with the projected ESSA method. Next, a Partially Distributed CFPID (PD-CFPID) controller is designed for a distributed power system (DPS). It is shown that the ESSA method outclasses the SSA method in engineering problems. It is also noted that the ESSA-based PD-CFPID scheme has become more operative in monitoring the frequency than similar structured centralized fuzzy PID (CFPID) as well as PID controller. This paper presents the design of integral controller for Load Frequency Control (LFC) under deregulated environment having diverse sources of power generation employing Imperialistic Competition Algorithm (ICA). Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) along with Capacitive Energy Storage (CES) has also been proposed to further increase the dynamic performance of the system in terms of peak time, overshoot and settling time. The concept of soft computing techniques greatly helps in overcoming the disadvantages posed by the conventional controllers. Open transmission access and the evolving of more socialized companies for generation, transmission and distribution affects the formulation of LFC problem. So the traditional LFC system is modified to take into account the effect of bilateral contracts on the dynamics. Simulation results show that the Imperialistic Competition Algorithm based system employing Static Synchronous Series Compensator and Capacitive Energy Source has better dynamic performance over the system without these parameters. An effective coordination in an interconnected system can be obtained by ensuring proper settings of overcurrent relays. In this research work, the problem of coordinating the overcurrent relays is formulated as a non‐linear problem, taking into account the as discrete nature of time dial settings and the pickup current settings. An effective approach based on adaptive differential evolution (ADE) algorithm is proposed to solve the coordination problem. This paper describes design, modeling, simulation, control, and implementation of teleoperated agricultural vehicle using intelligent technique. This vehicle can be used for ploughing, sowing, and soil moisture sensing. Online computer controlled steering system for a vehicle utilizing two independent drive wheels can be used to avoid obstacles and to improve the ability to resist external side forces. To control the steer angles of the nondriven wheels, the mathematical relationships between the drive wheel speeds and the steer angles of the nondriven wheels are used. A fuzzy logic controller is designed to change the drive wheel speeds and to achieve the desired steer angles. Online control of the agricultural vehicle is achieved froma remote place by means ofWeb Publishing Tool in LabVIEW. IR sensors in the vehicle are used to detect and to avoid the obstacles around. The developed steering angle control algorithm and fuzzy logic controller have been implemented in an agricultural vehicle which depicts that the vehicle performs its operation efficiently and reduces the manpower and becomes advantageous.
