This article analyzes some features that the problems of care have and the relationships with these problems and the welfare regimes in Latin America. For this, the paper describes the demographic transition effects, population aging, changes in the family and poverty. Based on data from ECLAC and UNESCO of 16 Latin American countries, I argue that the problem of care results in a double process of de-familiarization and commodification. The paper concludes that the characteristics of the state devices and the social policies system design, assume that woman is equating to family and for this, the welfare regimen has got an implicit policy of care, which is not derived from any model of social justice and develops new forms of stratification and inequality.
