Leeches of the genus Dina are one of the most abundant leech species in running waters in Montenegro. This paper described a new yellowish-spotted and medium-sized leech from the Skadar Lake basin in Montenegro. Phylogenetic analysis based on COI data reveals that Dina nesemannisp. nov. is more closely related to D. latestriata from Prespa Lake than to other yellow-spotted leeches known from montane and alpine areas of Montenegro. Morphologically, the new species can be separated from all other yellow-spotted leeches by the peculiar shape of the ovisacs. The new species is a characteristic and possibly an endangered representative of the fauna of highly threatened Mediterranean ponds and swamps in the central and southern part of Montenegro. Background: The lungs are the second most common organ site for metastases in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). Lymph node metastasis of CRC represents a prognostic factor for survival. Objective: The present study investigated the influence of CRC lymph node metastasis on lung metastasis, in particular thoracic lymph node metastasis. Material and methods: A retrospective analysis of 88 patients (n = 56 male) with curative resection of lung metastases of CRC was performed. Primary endpoint: influence of lymph node status of CRC on lung metastases. Secondary endpoints: disease-free survival and overall survival. Statistical evaluation was carried out with SPSS. Results: In 48 patients a positive lymph node status of CRC and in 9 patients an N+ status of lung metastases were determined. The lymph node status of the CRC significantly affected the incidence of synchronous metastases (p = 0.03), disease-free interval until formation of metachronous lung metastases (p = 0.012) and the overall survival of patients with CRC (p = 0.048). The 5‑year survival rate for CRC patients with lung metastases was 48.7% after pulmonary metastasectomy. Thoracic lymph node involvement also significantly affected survival (p = 0.001). Conclusion: Screening for pulmonary metastases should be included in the staging and follow-up of all patients with CRC, especially in patients with a positive lymph node status of the CRC. Hyperechogenicity of the substantia nigra (SN) has been proposed to be a typical finding in Parkinson’s disease (PD) and a marker of vulnerability to nigrostriatal dysfunction in healthy subjects. This large cross-sectional study including 1120 subjects older than 50 years without any signs of PD was performed to evaluate the association of SN hyperechogenicity and other proposed epidemiological risk factors for PD. Among all variables assessed only family history of PD and male gender proved to be significantly associated with SN hyperechogenicity, indicating a genetic predisposition for the ultrasound marker. This paper addresses the packaging, power, and cooling of the IBM eServer™ BladeCenter® compact server infrastructure consisting of 14 servers in a 7U (1U = 44.45 mm) vertical space for installation in an industry-standard rack. A typical rack is 42U tall. Therefore, six BladeCenter systems will fit in a rack, for a total of 84 servers. The density of a BladeCenter system (servers/ U) is double that of previous 1U rack-optimized servers. To build such a dense server system required overcoming a multitude of challenges in packaging, power, and cooling design. Our approach to these challenges is described, but in the broader context of not only increasing the density, but setting a new server standard for a highly available redundant infrastructure with integrated systems management and network switching that uses less power and is simple to maintain on site or remotely, even by nonspecialized personnel. Server processors, memory, storage, and input/output devices were combined in a single compact server unit called a processor blade, while the support infrastructure, such as systems management, network connectivity, optical media, power, and cooling, was consolidated in a single structure and shared among many servers. The result is a package architecture that lends itself well to standardization. Custom server blades and input/output devices may be designed in accordance with BladeCenter base specifications and be effectively integrated into the blade server system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
