Deep learning has shown potential in significantly improving performance for undersampled magnetic resonance (MR) image reconstruction. However, one challenge for the application of deep learning to clinical scenarios is the requirement of large, high-quality patient-based datasets for network training. In this paper, we propose a novel deep learning-based method for undersampled MR image reconstruction that does not require pre-training procedure and pre-training datasets. The proposed reference-driven method using wavelet sparsity-constrained deep image prior (RWS-DIP) is based on the DIP framework and thereby reduces the dependence on datasets. Moreover, RWS-DIP explores and introduces structure and sparsity priors into network learning to improve the efficiency of learning. By employing a high-resolution reference image as the network input, RWS-DIP incorporates structural information into network. RWS-DIP also uses the wavelet sparsity to further enrich the implicit regularization of traditional DIP by formulating the training of network parameters as a constrained optimization problem, which is solved using the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) algorithm. Experiments on in vivo MR scans have demonstrated that the RWS-DIP method can reconstruct MR images more accurately and preserve features and textures from undersampled k -space measurements. Device to device (D2D) communication has recently attracted a lot of attentions since it can significantly improve the system throughput and reduce the energy consumption. Indeed, the devices can communicate with each other in a D2D system, and the base station (BS) can share the spectrum with D2D users, which can efficiently improve the spectrum and energy efficiency. Nevertheless, spectrum sharing also raises the difficulty of resource allocation owing to the serious cochannel interference. To reduce the interference, the transmit power of the D2D pairs and BS to cellular users should be further optimized. In this paper, we consider the resource allocation problem of D2D networks involving the power allocation and subcarrier assignment. The resource allocation problem is formulated as a mixed integer programming problem which is difficult to solve. To reduce the computational complexity, the original problem is decomposed as two subproblems in terms of the subcarrier assignment and power allocation. For the subcarrier assignment problem, the particle swarm optimization (PSO) is adopted to solve it since the subcarrier assignment is an integer optimization problem, and it is difficult to be tackled using the traditional optimization approach. When the subcarrier assignment is fixed, there are only the power allocation variables in the original resource allocation problem. The difference of convex functions (DC) programming is adopted to solve the power allocation problem. The plasmid-mediated conjugative transfer of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) stands out as the primary driver behind the dissemination of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Developing effective inhibitors that target conjugative transfer represents an potential strategy for addressing the issue of AMR. Here, we studied the effect of acetylshikonin (ASK), a botanical derivative, on plasmid conjugation. The conjugative transfer of RP4-7 plasmid inter and intra species was notably reduced by ASK. The conjugation process of IncI2 and IncX4 plasmids harbouring the mobile colistin resistance gene (mcr -1), IncX4 and IncX3 plasmids containing the carbapenem resistance gene (bla NDM-5), and IncFI and IncFII plasmids possessing the tetracycline resistance gene [ tet (X4)] were also reduced by ASK. Importantly, the conjugative transfer frequency of mcr -1 positive IncI2 plasmid in mouse peritoneal conjugation model and gut conjugation model was reduced by ASK. The mechanism investigation showed that ASK disrupted the functionality of the bacterial cell membrane. Furthermore, the proton motive force (PMF) was dissipated. In addition, ASK blocked the electron transmission in bacteria's electron transport chain (ETC) through disturbing the quinone interaction, resulting in an insufficient energy supply for conjugation. The traditional co‐polarised metasurface achieves 360° phase coverage only at the resonant frequency but not full phase coverage across a wide bandwidth. This paper proposes a multilayer structure metasurface, which composes of five layers of metal patch and four layers of medium, forming the Fabry–Perry resonator, using the principle of the cancellation of two polarisation conversion, which can achieve a wideband efficient co‐polarisation transmission. Based on the metasurface transmission phase principle, 360° phase coverage has been achieved by changing the geometric parameters of the intermediate metal patches. Through phase compensation arrangement, a metalens is designed using the proposed metasurface unit cell. At the same time, horn antenna is used as a feed to feed the metalens, which can significantly improve the gain of the antenna within a wideband. Simulated and measured results show that the proposed metalens antenna operates at 22–26 GHz, and the maximum measured gain of the metalens antenna reaches 24.16 dBi at 25 GHz, which is 10.85 dB higher than the horn antenna without metasurface compensation, showing good focusing performance. The proposed multilayer metasurface breaks the narrow band limit of the traditional stacked metasurface in principle, opening a way in the broadband metasurface design. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The rise of antibiotic tolerance in bacteria harboring genetic elements conferring resistance to antibiotics poses an increasing threat to public health. However, the primary factors responsible for the emergence of antibiotic tolerance and the fundamental molecular mechanisms involved remain poorly comprehended. Here, we demonstrate that the commonly utilized food additive Benzaldehyde (BZH) possesses the capacity to induce a significant level of fluoroquinolone tolerance in vitro among resistant Escherichia coli. Our findings from animal models reveal that the pre-administration of BZH results in an ineffective eradication of bacteria through ciprofloxacin treatment, leading to similar survival rates and bacterial loads as observed in the control group. These results strongly indicate that BZH elicits in vivo tolerance. Mechanistic investigations reveal several key factors: BZH inhibits the formation of bacterial flagella and releases proton motive force (PMF), which aids in expelling antibiotics from within cells to reducing their accumulation inside. In addition, BZH suppresses bacterial respiration and inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Moreover, exogenous pyruvate successfully reverses BZH-induced tolerance and restores the effectiveness of antibiotics, highlighting how crucial the pyruvate cycle is in combating antibiotic tolerance. Living cell‐based drug delivery systems (LC‐DDSs) are limited by adverse interactions between drugs and carrier cells, typically drug‐induced toxicity to carrier cells and restriction of carrier cells on drug release. Here, a method is established to adsorb nanocarriers externally to living cells, thereby reducing cytotoxicity caused by drug uptake and realizing improved drug release at the disease site. It is found that a divalent metal ion‐phenolic network (MPN) affords adhesion of poly (lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) nanoparticles onto macrophage (Mφ) surfaces with minimized intracellular uptake and no negative effect on cell proliferation. On this basis, an Mφ‐DDS with doxorubicin‐loaded nanoparticles on cell surface (DOX‐NP@Mφ) is constructed. Compared to intracellular loading via endocytosis, this method well‐maintains bioactivity (viability and migration chemotaxis) of the carrier cell. By virtue of the photothermal effect of MPN at the tumor site, DOX‐NP‐associated vesicles are liberated for improved chemotherapy. This facile, benign, and efficient method (ice bath, 2 min) for extracellular nanoparticle attachment and minimizing intracellular uptake provides a platform technology for LC‐DDS development. Chemoimmunotherapy is an emerging paradigm in the clinic for treating several malignant diseases, such as non-small cell lung cancer, breast cancer, and large B-cell lymphoma. However, the efficacy of this strategy is still restricted by serious adverse events and a high therapeutic termination rate, presumably due to the lack of tumor-targeted distribution of both chemotherapeutic and immunotherapeutic agents. Targeted drug delivery has the potential to address this issue. Among the most promising nanocarriers in clinical translation, liposomes have drawn great attention in cancer chemoimmunotherapy in recent years. Liposomes-enabled cancer chemoimmunotherapy has made significant progress in clinics, with impressive therapeutic outcomes.
