A series of crystalline salts based on the complex dianion [Fe(dto)2(NO)]2−(dto = 1,2-dithiooxalate) with hydrogen-bond donor cations have been synthesised. The preparation and structural characterisation of the new crystalline phases [4,4′-H2bipy][Fe(dto)2(NO)]·H2O (1), [3,3′-H2bipy][Fe(dto)2(NO)] (2) and [H2Me4bipyz][Fe(dto)2(NO)]·2H2O (3) (Me4bipyz = 3,3′,5,5'-tetramethyl-4,4′-bipyrazole) are reported, and show that a charge-assisted NHdto synthon is formed in each of compounds 1–3. In compound 1the anion forms a dimer in the solid-state, and variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements reveal a weak antiferromagnetic interaction with a best fit superexchange parameter J= –3.18 (2) cm−1, where H= –2JS1S2. In this study, hydrothermally synthesized {[Nd(SIP)(H2O)4]}n (NdSIP) and carboxylate-modified SiO2 spheres were used to obtain SiO2@NdSIP nanocomposites. Different concentrations of NdSIP in the range of 5–15%wt. were used in the hydrothermal synthesis of SiO2@NdSIP nanocomposites. NdSIP has been structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. NdSIP and SiO2@NdSIP nanocomposites were characterized using various techniques including field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Hirshfeld surface analysis, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), solid-state UV absorption and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. In this work, a tetrameric Cu(II) Schiff base complex [Tetrakis((µ3-N-(3,5-dichlorosalicyclideneamino)ethanolato)-Cu(II))], (1), has been synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. In different concentrations (5–20 wt%), complex (1) has been doped into poly(methylmethacrylate) (PMMA) as the polymer matrix using by electrospinning technique to form Cu@PMMA nanofibers. Both complex (1) and electrospun Cu@PMMA nanofibers were characterized using various techniques including field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), photoluminescence (PL) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of Cu@PMMA composite fibers in the solid-state were studied at room temperature. Furthermore, the temperature-dependent PL properties of Cu@PMMA nanofibers, with a weight% of 15%, were investigated within a temperature range of 10–300 K. Cu@PMMA nanofibers exhibited blue emission with excitation wavelength of 349 nm. Brilliant values of the chromaticity coordinates of the prepared photoluminescent nanofibers predict their possible use in blue solid-state lighting applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A seriesof new crystal structures of salts containing 3- and 4-pyridineboronicacid (3- and 4-pba) with chlorometallate have been prepared: [4-pbaH][MnCl2] (1), [4-pbaH][CdCl2], (2), [4-pbaH]2[CuCl4] (3), [4-pbaH]2[PdCl4] (4), [3-pbaH]2[CdCl4] (5), [3-pbaH][CuCl3(OH2)] (6), and [3-pbaH][PdCl2] (7). In these salts five structural forms for the chlorometallatespecies are observed: mononuclear square planar [M = Pd (4and 7)], dimeric square-pyramidal [M = Cu (3)], polymeric square-pyramidal [M = Cu (6)], polymeric trans-edge-sharing octahedral [M = Mn (1),Cd (2)], and polymeric cis-edge-sharingoctahedral [M = Cd (5)]. The cyclic R2,2(8) boronic aciddimer is formed in the salt of 1–5. NH···Cl2M synthons Ahavebeen exploited in 1–4, 6, and 7. Both NH···Cl2M (sythons A) and B(OH)2···Cl2M(sythons B) interactions give rise to a synthon of form Iin 6. The uncommon folded conformation of theNH···Cl2M (synthons A) areformed in 7. The NH or OH donors and consequent branchingof the NH···Cl hydrogen-bond network leads to one-,two-, and three-dimensional structures. The present article showcases the creation and evaluation of luminescent composite fibers by embedding coordination polymers, such as Er(1) {[Er(2-stp) 3 (H 2 O)]} n and Yb(2) {[Yb(2-stp) 3 (H 2 O)]} n , which are suspended in 2-sulfoterephthalate, into polymer matrices using electrospinning. The Er(1) and Yb(2) complexes were combined with poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) at concentrations ranging from 5 wt.% to 25 wt.%, leading to the formation of Er@PMMA and Yb@PMMA fibers. This method resulted in one-dimensional (1D) luminescent composite fibers. Our study reveals that these composite fibers exhibit superior photoluminescence properties compared to their individual pure complex counterparts. This enhancement is ascribed to the synergistic effects of the PMMA matrix and electrospun fiber structure. Furthermore, we observed that the composite nanofibers exhibited significantly better thermal and photostability compared to their pure complexes. The study involves embedding Er(1) {[Er(2-stp) 3 (H 2 O)]} n and Yb(2) {[Yb(2-stp) 3 (H 2 O)]} n coordination polymers within a PMMA matrix via electrospinning, creating luminescent Er@PMMA and Yb@PMMA fibers. These fibers exhibit enhanced photoluminescence and improved thermal and photostability compared to the pure complexes, attributed to the synergistic effects of the PMMA matrix and fiber structure. • A new DyIII and HoIII coordination polymers with 2-stp and 4,4′-bipy ligands has been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. Besides, Dy@PVP and Ho@PVP nanofibers at different concentrations were prepared by electrospinning. • Crystal structure has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. • These Dy@PVP and Ho@PVP nanofibers has been characterized by elemental analyses, thermal analysis and FT-IR spectroscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy studies. • Magnetic and solid state and temperature dependent photoluminescence properties have been also investigated. In this paper, different concentrations of DyIII complex of {[D y (2- stp) 2 (H 2 O) 6 ].2(4,4′-bipy).5(H 2 O)}, and HoIII complex of {[H o (2- stp) 2 (H 2 O) 6 ].2(4,4′-bipy).5(H 2 O)} (2-stp= 2-sulfoterephthalate and 4,4′-bipy=4,4′-bipyridine), were doped into the polymer matrix of Poly(vinylpyrrolidinone) (PVP) using the electrospinning technique, forming a series of orangish-yellow and purish-yellow luminescent nanofibers of Dy@PVP and Ho@PVP. It was observed that DyIII/HoIII ions showed strong characteristic emission in the luminescent spectra of the composite nanofibers.
