Introduction: The main objective of this work is to analyze, from a bibliometric point of view, the journal Ars Pharmaceutica in the time interval between the years 2014 and 2023, given the existence of previous studies prior to that period. Method: The study focuses on the estimation of average authorship and time of acceptance of an article, distribution by scientific typology and by thematic areas of the published works, distribution by countries and institutions of origin of the works and incidence of the gender in authorship. The statistical analysis has been based on nonparametric contrasts and trend analysis. Results: The average number of authors per article is 4, lower than that of journals in the Pharmacy & Pharmacology field, and has remained stable throughout the period under study; The areas that concentrate the greatest number of contributions are Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy, Pharmaceutical Care and Pharmacology; almost 80 % of the works come from Spain (45.62 %) and Ibero-American countries (33.46 %); and, finally, that the percentage of male authors is significantly higher than that of female authors (p=0.036). Conclusion: Ars Pharmaceutica is a journal that, despite publishing articles mostly in Spanish, is consolidating itself as an international journal, appearing since 2018 in the Journal of Citation Reports, initially with Journal Citation Indicator and, since 2022, with Journal Impact Factor. Although publication in scholarly peer‐reviewed journals remains the gold standard for communication of findings in the life sciences, the gold has been debased in the digital age by various impurities, including (a) reviewer fatigue, (b) fraud, paper mills, and the perils of artificial intelligence, (c) predatory journals, (d) the ongoing use of journal impact factor as a proxy for individual article quality, and (e) salami‐slicing and other unethical practices. In this article, I present a detailed overview of these problems, as well as solutions proposed and implemented to counter them. Finally, I suggest that these are all symptomatic of a wider problem, namely the culture of 'publish or perish' and ongoing issues with how researcher performance is evaluated for grant, hiring, and promotion decisions. Conservation literature addresses a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary questions and benefits. Conservation science benefits most when a diverse range of authors are represented, particularly those from countries where much conservation work is focused. In other disciplines, it is well known that barriers and biases exist in the academic publishing sphere, which can affect research dissemination and an author's career development. We used a discrete choice experiment to determine how 7 journal attributes affect authors’ choices of where to publish in conservation. We targeted authors directly by contacting authors published in 18 target journals and indirectly via communication channels for conservation organizations. We only included respondents who had previously published in a conservation‐related journal. We used a multinomial logit model and a latent class model to investigate preferences for all respondents and distinct subpopulations. We identified 3 demographic groups across 1038 respondents (older authors from predominantly middle‐income countries, younger authors from predominantly middle‐income countries, and younger authors from high‐income countries) who had published in conservation journals. Each group exhibited different publishing preferences. Only 2 attributes showed a consistent response across groups: cost to publish negatively affected journal choice, including authors in high‐income countries, and authors had a consistent preference for double‐blind review. Authors from middle‐income countries were willing to pay more for society‐owned journals, unlike authors from high‐income countries. Journals with a broad geographical scope that were open access and that had relatively high impact factors were preferred by 2 of the 3 demographic groups. However, journal scope and open access were more important in dictating journal choice than impact factor. Overall, different demographics had different preferences for journals and were limited in their selection based on attributes such as open access policy. However, the scarcity of respondents from low‐income countries (2% of respondents) highlights the pervasive barriers to representation in conservation research. We recommend journals offer double‐blind review, reduce or remove open access fees, investigate options for free editorial support, and better acknowledge the value of local‐scale single‐species studies. This study investigates the impact of Free-to-Publish (F2P) versus Pay-to-Publish (P2P) models in dermatology journals, focusing on their differences in terms of journal metrics, Article Processing Charges (APCs), and Open Access (OA) status. Utilizing k-means clustering, the research evaluates dermatology journals based on SCImago Journal Rankings (SJR), H-Index, and Impact Factor (IF), and examines the correlation between these metrics, APCs, and OA status (Full or Hybrid). Data from the SCImago Journal Rank and Journal Citation Report databases were used, and metrics from 106 journals were normalized and grouped into three tiers. The study reveals a higher proportion of F2P journals, especially in higher-tier journals, indicating a preference for quality-driven research acceptance. Conversely, a rising proportion of P2P journals in lower tiers suggests potential bias towards the ability to pay. This disparity poses challenges for researchers from less-funded institutions or those early in their careers. The study also finds significant differences in APCs between F2P and P2P journals, with hybrid OA being more common in F2P. Conclusively, the study highlights the disparities in dermatology journals between F2P and P2P models and underscores the need for further research into authorship demographics and institutional affiliations in these journals. The goal of this study was to present a historical analysis of the extent to which the field of clinical neuropsychology publishes journals with titles that address culture in the context of brain function and behavior between 2010 and 2020.Titles from articles published in 13 neuropsychology journals from 2010–2020 were collected and coded with regard to culture and multicultural content. The aims of the study were to (1) determine how often cultural or multicultural topics were represented in journal titles, (2) determine if cultural or multicultural content in neuropsychology journal publication titles increased over time, and (3) to explore other neuropsychological content that was most and least likely to appear in publications pertaining to culture or multicultural issues.Results indicated that titles for publications in clinical neuropsychology journals with content relevant to cultural or multicultural neuropsychology represented 1.1% to 13.4% of titles across the 13 journals. The number of cultural/multicultural titles increased over time. The number of cultural/multicultural titles per journal was not significantly correlated with the journal impact factor. Normative data were addressed significantly more often in cultural/multicultural titles versus non-cultural/multicultural titles, whereas psychiatric issues were addressed significantly less often.There are many actions that clinical neuropsychologists can take to increase the field’s attention to the effects of culture on brain function and behavior. The field of agronomy and crop science plays a crucial role in ensuring global food security and sustainable agricultural practices. In the realm of scholarly publications, bibliometric indicators have emerged as invaluable tools for quantifying and comparing the impact, reach, and significance of such contributions. Various bibliometric indicators were employed for the study, including Impact Factor, Eigenfactor Score, Cite Score, and h-index. To accomplish this, we compiled a roster of 90 agronomy and crop science journals using the Journal Citation Report (JCR) within the Web of Science (WOS), journal metrics from the Scopus database (Cite Score and SNIP), and h5-index from Google Scholar. The SCImago Journal Ranking (SJR) was obtained from its official website. Subsequently, we conducted Bivariate Pearson's (r) and Spearman's (ρ) correlation coefficient tests to assess ranking correlations. The study revealed notable positive correlations particularly, a strong Pearson's (r) correlation evident between the Impact Factor (JIF) and both the Cite Score (CS) and SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) indicators, yielding values of (r = 0.962) and (r = 0.932), respectively. Interestingly, despite the distinct mathematical foundations underpinning the various citation-based bibliometric indices scrutinized, our findings underscored their robust correlations when it comes to ranking agronomy and crop science journals. Cranes are employed to lift precast concrete girders during their construction. Presently, there is no recommendation for operational velocities during girder assemblage, particularly for long elements; simultaneously, several accidents have been reported during the transitory phase of girder motion. Since this mechanical problem has been examined in technical literature using a static approach, the present research study aims to investigate the dynamical behavior of a long, prestressed concrete girder by determining critical operational velocities according to crane movements. Prestressing cables' eccentricity and lifting loop position deviation were accounted for in 3D finite element simulations of a 40 m span precast prestressed concrete girder. Transient nonlinear analyses to obtain stresses and deflections were performed, so as to account for the large deformation behavior of the motion. A frequency domain approach was employed to analyze the time history results using the girder's natural frequencies obtained by modal analysis. The finite element model was developed to simulate upward, downward, and lateral girder movements. The most significant displacements and stresses were observed in the highest girder acceleration peaks, amplified by eccentricities. Safety against cracking and subsequent failure during vertical and lateral movements was ensured for crane operating accelerations of 0.02 g (v = 20 cm/s) and 0.007 g (v = 7 cm/s), respectively. Compared with the usual static analysis, for the critical case investigated, the inertial effect intensified the tensile stresses by 27 times, increased the compressive stresses by 11%, and increased the girder deflection by 3 times. Purpose: Surveys generate valuable data in epidemiologic and qualitative clinical research. The quality of a survey depends on its design, the number of responses it receives, and the reporting of the results. In this study, we aimed to assess the quality of surveys in neurosurgery. Methods: Neurosurgical surveys published between 2000 and 2020 (inclusive) were identified from PubMed. Various datapoints regarding the surveys were collated. The number of citations received by the papers was determined from Google Scholar. A 6-dimensional quality assessment tool was applied to the surveys. Parameters from this tool were combined with the number of responses received to create the survey quality score (SQS). Results: A total of 618 surveys were included for analysis. The target sample size correlated with the number of responses received. The response rate correlated positively with the target sample size and the number of reminders sent and negatively with the number of questions in the survey. The median number of authors on neurosurgery survey papers was 6. The number of authors correlated with the SQS and the number of citations received by published survey papers. The median normalized SQS for neurosurgical surveys was 65%. The nSQS independently predicted the citations received per year by surveys. Conclusions: The modifiable factors that correlated with improvements in survey design were optimizing the number of questions, maximizing the target sample size, and incorporating reminders in the survey design. In order to examine the differences in bird community structure between artificial wetlands and natural wetlands in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park, and to analyze the key factors affecting bird distribution, a sampling point method was used to investigate the birds of the two types of wetlands. The results showed that total bird species (90 species) and Shannon-Weiner index (3. 28) in the artificial wetlands were higher than those in the natural wetlands (83 species and 2. 97), respectively. However, the diversity index of families and genera (0. 681) was lower than that of natural wetlands (0. 686). There were more songbirds in the artificial wetlands(60 species)than in the natural wetlands (39 species),but more raptors(4 species),wading birds(25 species)and swimming birds(8 species)in the natural wetlands than in the artificial wetlands(1 species,19 species and 2 species). The Shannon-Weiner indexes of songbirds (2. 915) and climbers (1. 088) in the artificial wetlands were higher than those in natural wetlands (2. 171 and 0. 861), but the Shannon-Weiner indexes of land birds (0. 614), raptors (1. 330), wading birds (1. 825) and swimming birds (1. 672) in the natural wetlands were higher than those in artificial wetlands (0. 530, 0, 1. 819, 0. 300), respectively. Land subsidence, as one of the main geological hazards in the plain area, has a potential impact on the safe operation of the expressway. In order to explore the land subsidence of the Beijing-Tianjin section of Beijing-Shanghai expressway, 70 Sentinel-1B satellite images from January 2017 to March 2020 were selected, and SBAS-InSAR technology was used to monitor the land subsidence along the section. The accuracy of InSAR monitoring result was evaluated by external level observation. On this basis, nine factors were divided into three categories to conduct spatial simulation of the settlement amount. By comparing the simulation effects of OLS, GWR and MGWR models, the relative optimal model was selected to conduct quantitative research on various influencing factors. The results show that the Beijing-Tianjin section of Beijing-Shanghai expressway exhibits uneven settlement characteristics, with a maximum annual sedimentation rate exceeding -90 mm?a-1. There are mainly six obvious severe settlement centers distributed in the study area, with three of them passing through by Beijing-Shanghai expressway. The quantitative analysis of MGWR model, which has the best simulation effect, shows that the deposition thickness of Quaternary system and groundwater level changes have greater influence on the settlement, while the topographical environmental factors have less influence. Background: Medicine has begun adapting to new information-sharing paradigms in the hyper-connected social media era. In this milieu, the role of journal websites in the dissemination of clinical and research information needs to be reevaluated. Objective: We sought to explore whether reader engagement with neurosurgical journal websites, reflected by the number of article views and downloads, correlated with the eventual number of citations received by the articles. Methods: The websites of all Medline indexed neurosurgical journals were screened to identify those that provided information regarding the number of abstract and full text views and downloads. Articles published in these journals between July 2010 and June 2011 were included in this analysis. Various article attributes were identified and the number of citations per article was obtained from Google Scholar. The impact factors of the selected journals for the year 2010 were obtained from the Journal Citation Reports. Results: Twenty-two journals that had published 2527 articles were finally included in this analysis. The number of abstract views, full-text views, and downloads all correlated strongly with the journal impact factors in 2010 as well as the eventual citations per article. The number of article downloads independently predicted the citations per article on multivariate analysis. Neurology India had significantly higher article views and downloads but lower citations per article than the other journals. Conclusions: Readers were found to engage significantly with neurosurgical journal websites and therefore, open access to articles would lead to increased visibility of articles, resulting in higher citation rates. h-indexes, Journal Impact Factors and CiteScores are often presented as a single numeric value, without providing any context. Under such circumstances, the reader is unable to fully appreciate, or comprehend, the information being presented. By not being transparent, it also presents the opportunity for unscrupulous operators, such as predatory journals, to provide non-sensical information in the hope that the potential author will misinterpret it and submit an article in the expectation that they are submitting to a high-quality journal. Dubious metrics are also able to enter the sector, again in the hope that their metric will be read under an incorrect assumption. Following an overview of the main metrics that are commonly used, this paper suggests how these metrics should be cited. Adopting these proposals would not only provide the reader will full information but also enable bogus measures, which have proliferated in recent years, to be recognized more easily. Purpose: In academic publishing, research metrics play a crucial role in assessing the scientific impact and performance of the published literature, as well as of the journals in which they are published. Several journal-level metrics (JLM) such as the h-index of the analysed journals, total citations, total documents, citable documents, references and external citations per document are considered crucial indicators of the importance and reputation of the journals. We hypothesize that journals in the field of Medicine receive more citations than those in Surgical journals like Orthopaedic surgery, and hence have better JLM. This study aims to to assess and compare the JLM of Medical and Surgical journals between two time zones 2017–2019 vs. 2020–2022, i.e., pre and post-COVID-19 pandemic period. Methods: A cross-sectional bibliometric analysis of the top-ranked Orthopaedic, Medical, and Surgical journals was undertaken based on traditional JLM, using the SCImago database from 2017 to 2022. Our analysis focused on identifying trends in the h-index of the analysed journals, total citations, total documents, citable documents, references and external citations per document. Results: Overall Medical journals were found to have higher JLM than the Surgical and Orthopaedic journals. The h-index of Surgical journals, Medical journals and Orthopaedic journals were comparable between the two periods (pre and -post-COVID-19 pandemic); Total Cites (3 years), total documents (2017), total documents (3 years), total references, and citable documents (3 years) of Surgical journals, Medical journals and Orthopaedic journals were significantly higher in the period 2020–2022. Conclusion: There has been a steady increase in the number of publications from post COVID-19 period. Medical journals have higher JLM than Surgical and Orthopaedic journals. An analysis of the scientific production and research in Viticulture and Enology on papers referring to Mexico was performed, published between 2000 and 2022, and indexed in Scopus, Google Scholar, and CONRICyT databases. The following indicators were considered: quartile, H-index, productivity by year, journal, author, and the number of citations. Seventy-nine articles were identified that include many subtopics in the area, such as phytopathology, plant nutrition, climate, quality, and physicochemical and sensory properties of grapes and wine. This analysis demonstrates the necessity of promoting scientific research on priority topics in the different wine regions to take advantage of the diversity of opportunities and challenges in Mexican viticulture. We investigated academic developmental trends in emergency medicine (EM) by analyzing the performance of EM journals. Data from the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) database for EM category journals, including journal titles, language, numbers, and impact factors (IFs) from 2000 to 2019 were collected. The aggregate IFs of EM and 11 other categories (cardiac and cardiovascular systems, clinical neurology, critical care medicine, gastroenterology and hepatology, infectious diseases, general and internal medicine, pediatrics, respiratory system, surgery, toxicology, and urology and nephrology) were collected from 2003 to 2019. The slope of the linear regression was used to evaluate the trend in EM journal IFs and the aggregate IFs of all categories. Pearson’s correlation coefficient was used to evaluate the correlation between EM journals’ IF in 2000 and their IF trend from 2000 to 2019. The EM journal number increased from 8 (all in English) in 2000 to 31 (26 in English) in 2019. In total, 28 EM journals had a positive IF trend since their initial enrollment into the JCR database, and the trend was significant for 18 journals. The correlation of the EM journals’ IF in 2000 and IF trends from 2000 to 2019 was 0.75. The increasing trend of aggregate IF for the EM category was significant. In conclusion, the increased number, language diversity, and IF trend for EM journals indicates that the development of academic EM is a continuous international trend. In the past 20 years, the IF trend increased faster for EM journals with a higher initial IF. The overall performance of EM journals was non-inferior to other medical specialties. The manuscript processing timeline, a necessary facet of the publishing process, varies from journal to journal, and its influence on the journal impact needs to be studied. The current research looks into the correlation between the 'Peer Review Metrics' (submission to first editorial decision; submission to first post-review decision and submission to accept) and the 'Journal Impact Data' (2-year Impact Factor; 5-year Impact Factor; Immediacy Index; Eigenfactor Score and Article Influence Score). The data related to 'Peer Review Metrics' (submission to first editorial decision; submission to first post-review decision and submission to accept) and 'Journal Impact Data' (2-year Impact Factor; 5-year Impact Factor; Immediacy Index; Eigenfactor Score and Article Influence Score) were downloaded from the 'Nature Research' journals website https://www.nature.com/nature-portfolio/about/journal-metrics. Accordingly, correlations were drawn between the 'Peer Review Metrics' and the 'Journal Impact Data'. If the time from 'submission to first editorial decision' decreases, the 'Journal Impact Data' increases and vice versa. However, an increase or decrease in the time from 'submission to first editorial decision' does not affect the 'Eigenfactor Score' of the journal and vice versa. An increase or decrease in the time from 'submission to first post-review decision' does not affect any 'Journal Impact Data' and vice versa. If the time from 'submission to acceptance' increases, the 'Journal Impact Data' (2-year Impact Factor, 5-year Impact Factor, Immediacy Index and Article Influence Score) also increases, and if the time from 'submission to acceptance' decreases, so will the 'Journal Impact Data'. However, an increase or decrease in the time from 'submission to acceptance' does not affect the 'Eigenfactor Score' of the journal and vice versa. The study will act as a ready reference tool for the scholars to select the most appropriate submitting platforms for their scholarly endeavours. Furthermore, the performance and evaluative indicators responsible for a journal's overall research performance can also be understood from a micro-analytical view, which will help the researchers select appropriate journals for their future scholarly submissions. Lengthy publication timelines are a big problem for the researchers because they are not able to get the credit for their research on time. Since the study validates a relationship between the 'Peer Review Metrics' and 'Journal Impact Data', the findings will be of great help in making an appropriate journal's choice. The study can be an eye opener for the journal administrators who vocalise a speed-up publication process by enhancing certain areas of publication timeline. The study is the first of its kind that correlates the 'Peer Review Metrics' of the journals and the 'Journal Impact Data'. Objectives: To investigate intra-specialty citation patterns of radiology articles, compared with another medical specialty: gastroenterology/hepatology. Methods: Four radiology journals (Radiology, European Radiology, Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging, Canadian Association of Radiologists Journal) and four gastroenterology/hepatology journals (Journal of Hepatology, Journal of Gastroenterology, World Journal of Gastroenterology, Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology) with similar Web of Science in-category 2020 IF ranking were selected. The original research, review, letter, and editorial articles published in these journals in 2021 were identified. The average number of intra-specialty citations per article (intra-specialty citation count) and percentage of intra-specialty citations out of total citations per article (intra-specialty citation rate) were compared between radiology and gastroenterology/hepatology articles using Student's t -test. Results: The radiology articles demonstrated a lower total citation count per article (radiology: 29.7 ±.4 (mean ± SEM), n = 2063; gastroenterology/hepatology: 50.1 ± 1.4, n = 1335). The intra-specialty citation count was also lower in radiology articles than gastroenterology/hepatology articles (radiology: 12.9 ±.2, gastroenterology/hepatology: 19.6 ±.7; P <.001), both overall and in all article types. Additionally, the overall intra-specialty citation rate was not significantly different between the two specialties (radiology: 48.8% ±.5%; gastroenterology/hepatology: 47.1 ±.8%; P =.057), although the intra-specialty citation rates were higher in radiology original research and editorial article types. Conclusions: The significantly lower per-article intra-specialty citation counts in all radiology article types, a measurement that directly links to specialty IFs, may contribute to the lower impact factors of radiology journals compared with gastroenterology/hepatology ones. Objectives: Bibliometric analysis is one of the most widely used tools to quantify the research prolificacy in a specific area of knowledge. This paper aims to provide a list of the top 100 cited articles published between 2010 and 2021 on dental fluorosis to offer an up-to-date quantitative-qualitative analysis of publications. Methods: The Scopus database was reviewed with the term "dental fluorosis" in the title, abstract, and keywords to retrieve lists of the 100 most-cited articles on 16 December 2021. The number of citations, authors, publication year, country, and institution of origin were evaluated. A graphical illustration of keywords, co-authors, and countries was created using VOSviewer. Results: The number of citations of the 100 articles varied from 654 to 42. All the studies were published in English and 62% were published in journals in the first quartile. The articles were published in 62 different journals, with the most popular publication being the Journal of the American Dentistry and Science of The Total Environment (n=5). The papers originated from 40 countries, with India (n=26) accounting for the largest number. The most prolific authors were A. M. Glenny and H.V. Worthington (n=5), and the institution was Manchester University (n=8). The majority of articles were on Environmental Science (n=39), followed by Dentistry and Medicine (n=26). This study investigated the peer‐reviewed journal publication outlets and impact of school psychology faculty research from the years 2016 through 2020. The National Association of School Psychologists website was used to identify 972 faculty from 195 doctoral and nondoctoral school psychology programs. Faculty publications were identified through a Google Scholar search and using published faculty curriculum vitaes. Journal h‐index impact factors and 2‐year citation rates were collected through SCImago. There were a total of 4354 articles published across 1125 journals during the 5‐year span. The journals Psychology in the Schools, Contemporary School Psychology, and School Psychology were where school psychology faculty published the most and accounted for 13% of the total publications. The average 2‐year citation rate for all journals was 2.83 and the average h‐index for all journals was 69.62. Discussion focuses on the historical and recent trend of school psychology faculty publications and the expanding range of nonschool psychology journals in which faculty publish. Practitioner Points: School Psychology faculty members are more likely to publish in nonschool psychology journals than in school psychology journals. The role of self-citation has not been discussed in the neurosurgery literature, although citations, citation indices, and impact of research may enhance funding opportunities, academic positions, fellowship opportunities, employment, and professional identity development. We sought to assess the magnitude and role of self-citation in academic neurosurgery. We performed a retrospective analysis of the citation and self-citation rates of articles published in 2001–2020 in 7 major neurosurgery journals: Acta Neurochirurgica, Journal of Neurosurgery , Journal of Neurosurgery: Pediatrics, Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine , Neurosurgery , Neurosurgical Review , and World Neurosurgery. The total number of citations was highest for Journal of Neurosurgery and lowest for Neurosurgical Review. Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine had the highest average number of citations per article, followed closely by Journal of Neurosurgery. The self-citation rate increased for all journals over the time period 2001–2020. The highest number of self-citations per article during 2016–2020 was seen in Journal of Neurosurgery: Pediatrics and World Neurosurgery. Neurosurgical Review had the lowest number of self-citations per article. Academic neurosurgeons must understand the ecosystem around self-citation. In our study, we found overall low levels of self-citations in neurosurgery journals with a few outliers. We have, however, noticed an increasing trend in self-citation rates. Self-citation rates should be considered while evaluating the impact of an author and research productivity. Introduction: The dehiscence of the posterior semicircular canal is a rare vestibulopathy, of low prevalence and whose symptomatology is explained by the phenomenon of the third window. It was not until 2003 that Krombach described the first cases. Objective: Evaluate the scientific production about the dehiscence of the posterior semicircular canal (DCSP) by a bibliometric and thematic analysis and observes its incidence at the scientific community level. Method: A search with subsequent review, selection and study was carried out using items related to DCSP indexed in the Pubmed, Web of Science, Alcorze and Scopus databases, from 2003 to 2019, selecting a total of 90 articles. Results: The 90 articles have been published in a total of 48 magazines. 52% were originals, 38% clinical cases, 9% reviews and 1% conferences. Clinical (32%) and etiology (27%) were the main themes. The articles were written in eight different languages, predominantly English (85%), and the United States has been the country with the highest number of publications (42%). Institutional activity and authorship rates are low. The quality of the journals is high: 70% of the publications were in the Q1-Q2 quartiles. The main area corresponds to otorhinolaryngology, with a total of 66 works, followed by radiology (14). The total number of downloads was 6958, with an average of 77.31 per article and the total citations were 1193, 13.25 per article. Modern science has been transformed by open access (OA) publishing levied a significant economic burden on the authors. This article analyzes the discrepancies among OA publication fees in pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmaceutics. The observations comprise 160 OA journals and their corresponding Q ranking, SJR, H index, impact factor, country, and cost of publication. The OA fees were found to depend on the quality matrices, which was unexpected. Differences in OA fees raise ethical questions as OA fees are meant to cover the publication charges by the publishers or generate more revenues by taking advantage of the authors' temptation to publish in high-impact journals. Despite our findings being based on limited sample size and belonging to a particular field (pharmacy), it will shed considerable light on the issue of discrepancies among APCs charged by OA journals. The rich history of optometric journal publications has been well documented, but the scientific impact of all optometry journals over all time has not been published. This work aims to determine the most impactful papers, authors, institutions and countries publishing in optometry journals. A h-index for "optometry journal publications" (the "hOJP-index") was derived for each constituent of each category to serve as a measure of impact. The h0Jp-index for the 34,565 papers published in all optometry journals is 136; these papers have been cited 294,239 times. Optometry and Vision Science is the most impactful and prolificjournal (hOJP=118; n=13,095 papers). The most highly cited paper, by Richard Armstrong, is entitled "When to use the Bonferroni correction" (1,172 citations). Australian optometrist Nathan Efron is the most impactful and prolific author (hOJP=41; n=273). UNSW Sydney and the University of California, Berkeley are the most impactful institutions (both hOJP==58), and UNSW Sydney is the most prolific (n=963). Objective: Assess the accuracy of abstracts in published veterinary ophthalmology articles. Procedures: Abstracts and contents of 204 original research articles in veterinary ophthalmology published in seven peer‐reviewed journals between 2016–2020 were reviewed. Abstracts were considered inconsistent if they contained data that were either missing from or inconsistent with corresponding data in the article's body. Each abstract was graded between 0 (inaccurate) to 3 (accurate), and each inconsistency was subjectively classified as minor or major. The influence of selected variables was assessed: journal, impact factor, year of publication, number of words in abstract, study type (prospective/retrospective), and characteristics of the corresponding author [institution (academia/private practice), country of domicile (native/non‐native English), number of publications]. Results: Most abstracts were accurate, with 1%, 4%, 9% and 86% receiving a score of 0, 1, 2 and 3, respectively. When detected, most inconsistencies were considered minor (77%). Although not statistically significant (p ≥.130), the proportion of articles with a perfect score (=3) was higher in prospective (88%) vs. retrospective (81%) studies, academia (88%) vs. private practice (78%), and studies from corresponding authors domiciled in English (89%) vs. non‐English (83%) speaking countries. A significant but very weak (r = −0.15 to −0.19; p ≤.034) negative correlation was found between accuracy score and number of words, as well as 1‐year and 5‐year impact factors. Conclusions: Although relatively uncommon, data in abstracts that are inconsistent or missing from the article's body do occur in veterinary ophthalmology articles, and could adversely influence a reader's interpretation of study findings. Late Paleozoic strata in the southeastern Ordos Basin comprise targeted reservoirs for tight gas exploration. As a typical intracratonic basin, the Ordos Basin is characterized by low-accommodation space and a complex sediment infilling process, which attracts much attention. During the early Permian, the southeast area was fed by sediments from multiple sediment sources, which makes it difficult to identify the pinch-out of the sand bodies and reconstruct the sediment routing system. In this study, we reconstruct the paleo-topography of the late Paleozoic setting using high-resolution 2D and 3D seismic data. Thus, we identify two types of topography: the eastern block is presented as a semiclosed depression, and the western block is observed as a flat platform. Based on detrital zircon U–Pb data and heavy mineral assemblages, we reconstruct the provenance area and show that early Permian sediments originate from the northern margin of the Ordos Basin and from the northern Qinling orogenic belt in the south. By integrating the trace element contents, carbon and oxygen isotope data and sedimentary structure from core samples, we can observe the paleoenvironment and the corresponding facies associations in these blocks. The eastern block was infilled by a prograding delta; the western block was infilled by a tide-dominated delta or a wavy-dominated delta. By using stratigraphic forward modelling, we find that most sediments in the semiclosed setting are progradational and intensely interacted. In contrast, the sediments in the western block present an open setting, infilled and gently interacted. The fine-grained deposits were not easily preserved due to tidal or wave reworking processes in the shallow-water marine setting, and they were transported into deep-water areas. Furthermore, to explore the dominant factors in a pattern of fluvial–deltaic sand bodies formed in the low-accommodation basin, we rebuild the sediment routing system parameters and plot them on a bubble chart. According to the fitness between the depositional volume and the above parameters, we determine the key factors in the routing systems that formed. The results show that the sediment supply has a high relevance to the depositional volume in a semiclosed setting, such as the eastern block, while the terrain height may drive sedimentation in an open marine setting, such as the western block. We demonstrate that two different infill patterns and different sand-body stacking patterns with multiple sediment sources in a low-accommodation basin may serve as a model for similar settings. Purpose: The aim of this study was to bibliometrically analyze the 100 most‐cited articles published in the Veterinary Ophthalmology (VO) journal. Methods: Web of Science was searched for citations of VO articles published in 1998–2022. Tissue and species studied, and first and last author domicile and affiliation were recorded for the 100 most‐cited articles and descriptively analyzed. Results: Altogether, the 100 most‐cited VO articles have cited a total of 5483 times. Most commonly, these were devoted to the cornea (23%), multiple tissues (19%), and glaucoma (16%). Studies on dogs (36%), horses (17%), and multiple species (15%) were most often cited. Most first/last authors were from the USA (n = 113), Brazil (n = 13), and France and Germany (n = 7 each), and most frequently affiliated with the University of Florida (n = 36), University of Wisconsin‐Madison (n = 15), and Animal Health Trust, North Carolina State University, and Ohio State University (n = 6 each). KN Gelatt (n = 9), DE Brooks (n = 6), and FJ Ollivier and EO MacKay (n = 5 each) were the most frequent first or last authors. The greatest number of citations was for articles with KN Gelatt (n = 555), FJ Ollivier (n = 411), and DE Brooks (n = 372) as first or last authors. "The comparative morphology of the tapetum lucidum" by FJ Ollivier et al. (2002) is the most frequently cited article in VO history (n = 178). This study employs bibliometric analysis to assess knowledge development and current trends in five vital fields for India's progress: Demography, Economy, Environment, Defense, and Science and Technology (DEEDST). Using a strategic approach involving keywords and databases, data was extracted from Web of Science's "Social Science Citation Index" on January 30, 2023, within a ten-year period (2013–2022), focusing on publications with India as the country. The study also utilized various boolean operators to enhance the search. Key metrics such as total citations, impact factors, and author affiliations were gathered, enriching the research's value for professionals and researchers in these fields. Notably, the 'Economy' keyword yielded the most publications (625), followed by 'Environment' (469), 'Defense' (28), 'Science and Technology' (18), and 'Demography' (9). Of the publications, 984 were articles, and 72 were review articles. Scholar performance evaluation plays a key role in management science and engineering. Scholar evaluation using Google Scholar and ResearchGate can serve as an indispensable scouter for evaluating scholar performance. Both tools to quantitatively evaluate scholars can be used to support evidence-based decision making in administration and human resources. However, both tools must be used together for complementing accurate scholar evaluation. This author shows examples of fatal drawbacks in Google Scholar and ResearchGate, respectively. Scopus and Publons, used as default scholar performance, are affected by publisher-bias selection of journals and conferences. Background: Twitter is a social media platform popularly used by health practitioners, a trend that has been followed by medical journals. The impact of Twitter in bibliometrics of stroke-related literature is yet to be determined. Aims: We aimed to qualitatively assess the usage of Twitter by stroke journals and study the relationship between Twitter activity and citation rates of stroke articles. Methods: We used Journal Citation Reports to identify stroke journals. We collected the 2021 Impact Factor (IF) and the top 50 articles contributing to each journal IF. Relevant metrics were collected through Twitonomy, Altmetric, and Web of Science. The association between Twitter activity and citation rates was tested by a negative binomial regression model adjusted to journal's IF. A bivariate correlation and a log-linear regression model adjusted to journal's IF tested the relationship between number of tweets, tweeters, and the number of citations. Results: We collected 450 articles across nine stroke-dedicated journals, five of which had a Twitter account. Only 95 (21%) articles had no Twitter mentions. The median number of citations in articles with versus without Twitter activity was 19 (10–39) versus 11(7–17) (P < 0.001). Twitter activity was associated with higher citation rates controlling for the IF (odds ratio (OR): 2.7, 95% confidence interval (CI) 2.12–3.38, P < 0.001). We found number of tweets to be predicted by the number of citations controlling for the IF (B = 0.33, 95% CI 0.29–0.40, β = 0.54, P < 0.001). In order to evaluate the structural performance and working state of the newly built prefabricated bridge, the single girder static load test, the whole bridge static and dynamic load test and the finite element simulation analysis were carried out on the 40 m T beam section of the Jiulinggang bridge of suide expressway. Through the static load test, the strain and deflection of the control section of the single beam and the bridge stage were tested, and the finite element calculation results were compared and analyzed. The natural vibration characteristics of the bridge, the dynamic effect and the impact effect under different driving speeds were obtained by the pulsation test and the driving test. The research results show that, the structural strain and deflection calibration coefficients of single girder and full bridge under static load all meet the requirements of the specification, and the relative residual strain and displacement after unloading are far less than 20% of the specification, and the structural bearing capacity is good. The deflection, strain value and load lateral distribution coefficient of the side beams at all levels of loading are all larger than those of the middle beams, and the overall deformation and stress distribution are relatively uniform, and the torsional stiffness and strength of the structure have a certain safety reserve. The measured damping ratio of the pulsation test is 1. 139%, which is less than 5% specified in the specification, with good dynamic characteristics and good energy dissipation performance during the vibration of the structural system. In the driving test, with the increase of the vehicle speed, the dynamic effect of the structure is more obvious, and the dynamic deflection, dynamic strain and impact coefficient have a tendency to increase obviously, the measured impact coefficients range from 0. 065 to 0. 133, indicating that the bridge deck has good flatness. Objective: This study aims to identify determinants of high impact, measured by Impact Factor (IF) and Eigenfactor score, among otolaryngology journals. Methods: Bibliometric data of "otorhinolaryngology" journals were collected from the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) database. For the years 2009–2020, we collected normalized Eigenfactor score, 5‐year IF, immediacy index, fraction of IF from journal‐self citation, proportion and magnitude of published citable articles, and total citation counts. High‐IF and ‐Eigenfactor journals were considered those within the top‐quartile of that metric each respective year. Results: High‐IF and ‐Eigenfactor otolaryngology journals displayed higher 5‐year IFs, immediacy indexes, and IF without self‐citation (p <.05 for all years) including total citations counts and citable articles when ranked by Eigenfactor (p <.05 for all years). Otolaryngology IF correlated with 5‐year IF and immediacy index within the same year (p <.05 for all years) and from previous years (p <.05 for all years; p <.05 for 2017‐2018; p >.05 for 2009‐2016). Eigenfactor correlated with 5‐year IF, total citation counts, and citable articles within the same year (p <.05 for all years) and previous years (p <.05 for 2013–2018). Multilinear regression revealed that 5‐year IF (p <.05 for 2009–2018) and immediacy index from the prior 2 years (p <.05 for 2017‐2018; p >.05 for 2009‐2016) predicted 2019 IF. Similarly, 5‐year IF, total citation counts, and citable articles (p <.05 for 2013–2018) predicted 2019 Eigenfactor score. Conclusion: Sustained publication of impactful articles is the dominant driver of high IF and Eigenfactor score. Eigenfactor score reflects a unique evaluation of otolaryngology journals; ranking otolaryngology journals by their Eigenfactor scores significantly alters journal ranking compared to ranking by IF. Many factors influence an author's choice for journal submission, including journal impact factor and publication speed. These and other bibliometric data points have not been assessed in journals dedicated to neurosurgery. Eight leading neurosurgery journals were analyzed to identify original articles and reviews, collected via randomized, stratified sampling per published issue per year from 2016 to 2020. Bibliometric data on publication speed were gathered for each article. Journal impact factor, article processing fees, and open access availability were determined using Clarivate Journal Citation Reports. Correlation analysis and a linear regression model were used to estimate the effect of impact factor and publication year on publication speed. Across the 8 neurosurgery journals, 1617 published articles were reviewed. The mean (standard deviation) time from submission to acceptance (SA) was 131 (101) days, from acceptance to online publication was 77 (61) days, and from submission to online publication was 207 (123) days. Higher impact factors correlated with longer publication times for all metrics. Later years of publication correlated with longer times from SA and submission to online publication. For each point increase in a journal's impact factor, multivariate regression modeling estimated a 19.2-day increase in time from SA, a 19.7-day increase in time from acceptance to online publication, and a 38.9-day increase in time from submission to online publication (P < 0.001 for all). The journal Cephalalgia was founded in 1980 and was first published in 1981. The foundation was mainly laid by Ottar Sjaastad who also served as the first Editor-in-Chief. In the early years, Cephalalgia was published in Scandinavia and was owned by the Norwegian Migraine Society. It became the official journal of the International Headache Society in 1984 and in 1993 ownership of Cephalalgia was transferred to International Headache Society. The publisher changed in 2000 and then again in 2009. In order to study the vehicle impact effect on the fatigue assessment for steel bridge decks, the segmental finite element model is built of a continuous steel box girder bridge, and 7-day Weigh-in-Motion(WIM) data of Lianyungang-to-Horgos Expressway is selected to carry out fatigue assessment of typical details. The influence law of impact factors on the fatigue assessment result is analyzed, and the applicability of impact factors in different current specifications is studied. Research results show that the vehicle impact effect has a significant influence on the fatigue assessment results of steel bridge decks. Obvious differences exist in impact effects of different details, the impact effect of rib-to-deck detail is the largest, and the rib-to-rib detail is the smallest. The bridge deck pavement condition has great influence on the impact effect of steel bridge deck, fatigue assessment result of “worse” pavement condition is 3. 30-3. 91 times of “excellent” pavement condition. The vehicle impact effect should be fully considered when the fatigue assessment is performed, and reasonable impact factors should be adopted according to pavement conditions and detail types. The paper aims to detect publication contributions of editorial board members (EBMs) to academic journal ranking as exemplified by Russian LIS serials divided into three groups according to their authority. To reveal the EBMs' contribution in each group, papers by EBMs in their parent journals as well as other sources were studied with comparative analyses of EBMs' papers in parent journals and papers by other authors in the same journals. The Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) was used for collecting indicators that reflect journal ranks and scholarly output of EBMs. We found no relationship between journal ranking and a share of EBMs' papers in a parent journal. Citation analyses of EBMs' papers as well as citations of parent journals made by EBMs from other sources reveals a significant effect of EBMs on the rank of top-tiered and low-tiered journals pointing at active participation of EBMs in the development of parent journals. Zero or even negative impact of EBMs' papers on the journal rank is registered in the middle-tiered group implying formalistic engagement of researchers to join the editorial boards, lack of interest in the journal work, or possible violation of the publication ethics by publishing poorly cited or uncited papers in parent journals due to less strict peer-review processes. The paper adds to a better understanding of the nature of journal ranking, particularly, impact factors, as well as performance of EBMs in the field of LIS publications. The ethics and possible conflict of interests related to publishing in parent journals are discussed. Objective: To determine the impact of different specialized family issues journals indexed in Scopus according to SJR database from 1999 to 2018. Methodology: The selected journals were categorized according to their content in four groups: "medical" journals that publish family health or reproductive health issues; "social" journals that address the family from a legal, historical or sociological perspective; "psychological" journals that publish family issues from the clinical, social or educational psychology perspective; and the group of "financial or economic" journals that address the family from its consumption habits, family economy or business strategies. To determine its impact, this study assesses: the SJR prestige measurement factor, the H index and the number of citations per document in the last two years using the R software version 3.6.1 through the sjrdata version 0.2.0 package. Results: In general terms, the most ranked journals are those in the social area. Likewise, the medical areas host the largest number of journals. On the other hand, the United States and the United Kingdom account for approximately 50% of family magazines in the world. Conclusions: Through this research, various researchers specialized in the area of family will be able to identify the most eligible journals to publish considering their reputation and academic impact. The authors analyze leading management journals of the Academy of Management (the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, the Academy of Management Learning and Education, and the Academy of Management Perspectives, as well as the Journal of Management), collecting and analyzing information on the managerial research assessment tool of impact factor (IF) during two time periods—from 1997 through 2005 and from 2006 through 2019. The authors capture the changing nature of journal strategies, examining the number of references, self-citations, and cross-citations. The study shows a general increase in the number of references used, as well as self-citations and cross-citations, resulting in a corresponding IF gain. The evidence suggests some limitations to adopting performance metrics in academia. Thus, academic managers, editors, and authors who focus on IF may be overestimating its impact, obscuring institutional attempts to measure academic research performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The use of bibliometric indicators in research evaluation has a series of complex impacts on academic inquiry. These systems have gradually spread into a wide range of locations and disciplines, including the humanities. The aim of this study is to examine their effects as perceived by philosophy and ethics researchers in Spain, a country where bibliometric indicators have long been used to evaluate research. The study uses a mixed approach combining quantitative and qualitative data from a self-administered questionnaire completed by 201 researchers and from 14 in-depth interviews with researchers selected according to their affiliation, professional category, gender, and area of knowledge. Results show that the evaluation system is widely perceived to affect university researchers in significant ways, particularly related to publication habits (document type and publication language), the transformation of research agendas and the neglect of teaching work, as well as increasing research misconduct and negatively affecting mental health. Background: & Purpose: The Irish Otolaryngology Society (IOS) conference takes place annually. This conference allows surgeons and surgical trainees from Ireland and abroad an opportunity to showcase research ideas from their respective centres. This allows them to disseminate results, accept critique, and obtain different perspectives. We sought to examine research presented at the IOS meetings over 20 years. We aimed to analyse the publication rates, impact factor of journals, and citation rates of presented abstracts.Methods: All oral presentations from IOS conferences were analysed between 2000 and 2019. Presentation titles and authors were searched using Pubmed, Google Scholar and Research Gate. We identified scientific publications which resulted from the research presented and the characteristics of each publication.Results: Of 703 presentations made at the conferences spanning 20 years, 30.15% (n = 212) went on to publish their research averaging 19 citations per publication. Median time to publication was 2 years (-1-11). Each year there have been an increasing number of oral presentations with a declining publication rate.Conclusion: The Irish otolaryngology society meeting is a high-quality meeting with comparable publication rates to similar international conferences. Despite this, many presentations do not have any lasting impact as they are not published. The increasing pressure for trainees to rapidly present research projects without emphasis on completion of projects may explain the declining publication rate. Our study highlights the importance of completing high-quality research projects through publication. Surface temperature is one of the most basic requirements for the biosphere's existence on earth. Hence, to evaluate urban ecoenvironmental quality, investigating the characteristics of the spatial and temporal surface temperature is essential. In this study, multisource spatial data were used to invert Urumqi's surface temperature over a large time span. Characteristics of spatial pattern of the surface temperature were quantitatively analyzed using a spatial autocorrelation and standard deviation ellipse. A geo-detector model was used to determine the correlation between the surface temperature and 10 influencing factors. Urumqi's surface temperature exhibited a significant geographical heterogeneity from 2000 to 2019, such that a clear heat island effect was observed in the city. From 2000 to 2010, sub-high temperature, high temperature, and severe high-temperature centroids changed 30° to the northwest; whereas from 2010 to 2019, the temperature centroid shifted 13° to the southwest. Among all the factors, the impervious surface has greatest impact on the urban heat island effect in Urumqi. The relationship between the impervious surface and other parameters was the most visible in the interaction detection. In the different land use categories, building land exhibited the highest average surface temperature. Compared with other studies, this study considers the influence of natural and human factors on urban heat island effect more comprehensively, and also quantitatively analyzes the difference of different land use types on urban heat island effect, which makes up for the defects of previous qualitative analysis. The impact factor of scientific journals and the h-index depend on the citations. Therefore, the citation analysis is a very important part of scientometrics. The paper presents the 2022 ranking list of citation analysis researchers. The ranking is presented primarily according to the h-index of researchers. The advantage the h-index is that it combines both the quantity - number of articles and quality - citations to these articles. A researcher cannot have a high h-index without publishing a considerable number of articles. The h-index favors researchers that publish a continuous stream of articles. Researchers with the same h-index are ranked by the number of citations. The minimum h-index of the 10 ranked researchers is 26. h-index can be determined from the following online databases: Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar and the Publish or Perish program.
