In this work, Au-Bi2Te3 nanocomposite thermoelectric film with a hierarchical sub-micron antireflection quasi-periodic structure was synthesized via a low-temperature chemical route using Troides helena (Linnaeus) forewing (T_FW) as the biomimetic template. This method combines chemosynthesis with biomimetic techniques, without the requirement of expensive equipment and energy intensive processes. The microstructure and the morphology of the Au-Bi2Te3 nanocomposite thermoelectric film was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning-electron microscopy (FESEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Coupled the plasmon resonances of the Au nanoparticles with the hierarchical sub-micron antireflection quasi-periodic structure, the Au-Bi2Te3 nanocomposite thermoelectric film possesses an effective infrared absorption and infrared photothermal conversion performance. Based on the finite difference time domain method and the Joule effect, the heat generation and the heat source density distribution of the Au-Bi2Te3 nanocomposite thermoelectric film were studied. The heterogeneity of heat source density distribution of the Au-Bi2Te3 nanocomposite thermoelectric film opens up a novel promising technique for generating thermoelectric power under illumination. The nuclear symmetry energy coefficients of finite nuclei are extracted by using the differences between the masses of isobaric nuclei. Based on the masses of more than 2400 nuclei with A = 10-270, we investigate the model dependence in the extraction of the symmetry energy coefficient. We find that the extraction of the symmetry energy coefficients is strongly correlated with the forms of the Coulomb energy and the mass dependence of the symmetry energy coefficient adopted. The values of the extracted symmetry energy coefficients increase by about 2 MeV for heavy nuclei when the Coulomb correction term is involved. The values of the bulk symmetry energy coefficient S0 and the surface-to-volume ratio k are simultaneously investigated based on the extracted symmetry energy coefficients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To investigate the influence of nuclear finite-size effects on the fragmentation in heavy-ion collisions, the fragment charge distributions of 40Ca + 40Ca, 197Au + 197Au, 120Xe + 129Sn, and 58Ni + 48Ca at intermediate incident energies are studied by using the improved quantum molecular dynamics model. Both the width of the wave packet at the coordinate space and the surface energy term strongly affect the formation and stability of fragments at intermediate-low energies. The wave-packet width influences the stability and the central densities of the initial nuclei. With increase of incident energies, the influence of the detail in description of individual nucleons and of their interaction via mean field on the fragment distributions weakens gradually. The improved Kelson-Garvey (ImKG) mass relations are proposed from the mass differences of mirror nuclei. The masses of 31 measured proton-rich nuclei with 7 ≤ A ≤ 41 and -- 5 ≤ (N --Z)≤ --3 can be remarkably well reproduced by using the proposed relations, with a root-mean-square deviation of 0.398 MeV, which is much smaller than the results of Kelson-Garvey (0.502 MeV) and isobar-mirror mass relations (0.647 MeV). This is because many more masses of participating nuclei are involved in the ImKG mass relations for predicting the masses of unknown proton-rich nuclei. The masses for 144 unknown proton-rich nuclei with 6≤ A ≤74 are predicted by using the ImKG mass relations. The one- and two-proton separation energies for these proton-rich nuclei and the diproton emission are investigated simultaneously. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The effects of surface texture in form of elliptical dimples on the titanium-porcelain bonding strength were investigated. The surface texture was mechanically engraved at all combinations of three different area fractions and two different depths. The morphologies of the titanium surface were studied by scanning electron microscopy. The adhesion between the Ti and porcelain was evaluated by a three point bending test. With the area fraction and depth of the dimples increasing, the surface roughness increased accordingly, whilst the contact angle value decreased. Compared to the sandblasted and polished groups, the surface roughness and wettability of the textured groups had been significantly improved, which led to the increased mechanical interlocking between the porcelain and titanium. Intermediate energy proton-induced spallation reactions with various targets are studied by the improved quantum molecular dynamics (ImQMD05) model incorporated with the statistical decay model. The influences of the different Skyrme interactions on the mechanism of spallation reaction and the double differential cross sections of emitted neutrons are studied. It is found that the different Skyrme interactions influence the low energy part of spectrum of emitted neutrons. This effect decreases as incident energy becomes higher. The double differential cross sections of emitted neutrons are found to be in good agreement with experimental data when the Skyrme parameter set SkP is adopted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this work, we study the mean-field Kuramoto model with attractive (positive) and repulsive (negative) coupling strengths under an external pinning force. We consider the coupling strengths correlate with the natural frequencies of oscillators. It is found that the interplay between the correlations and the pinning force induces multistable coherent behaves like different forms of traveling wave states, stationary synchronous and novel non-stationary dynamical behave: a nontrivial periodic coherent state. The nontrivial periodic coherent state can be depicted by the phase distributions of oscillators, the phase distributions oscillate in a confined region periodically. The dynamic mechanics in the multinucleon transfer reaction 136Xe+208Pb at an incident energy of Ec.m. = 450 MeV is investigated by using the improved quantum molecular dynamics model (ImQMD). The lifetime of the neck directly influences the nucleon exchange and energy dissipation between the projectile and the target. The total-kinetic-energy-mass distributions and excitation energy division of primary binary fragments and the mass distributions of primary fragments at different impact parameters are calculated. The thermal equilibrium between two reaction partners has been observed at the lifetime of a neck larger than 480 fm/c. By using the statistical decay code GEMINI to describe the de-excitation process of the primary fragments, the isotope production cross sections from Pt to At are compared with the prediction by the dinuclear system and GRAZING model. The calculations indicate that the GRAZING model is suitable for estimating the isotope production cross sections only for ΔZ = -1 to +2; the DNS + GEMINI calculations underestimate the cross sections in the neutron-rich and neutron-deficient regions; and the ImQMD + GEMINI calculations give reasonable predictions of the isotope production cross sections for ΔZ = -3 to 0. We present the calculations on a novel reorientation effect of deuteron attributed to isovector interaction in the nuclear field of heavy target nuclei. The correlation angle determined by the relative momentum vector of the proton and the neutron originating from the breakup deuteron, which is experimentally detectable, exhibits significant dependence on the isovector nuclear potential but is robust against the variation of the isoscaler sector. In terms of sensitivity and cleanness, the breakup reactions induced by the polarized deuteron beam at about 100 MeV/u provide a more stringent constraint to the symmetry energy at subsaturation densities.
