In the present work, novel binary metal oxides - cobalt-manganese mixed oxide (Mn 3 O 4 -MnCo 3 O 4 ) nanoparticles were synthesized with a facile solvothermal precipitation method by using carbon nanotubes as the sacrificial template for the first time. The structural and morphological features of the as-prepared materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrum. A novel nonenzymatic electrochemical sensor based on Mn3O4-MnCo2O4 was fabricated and applied in the determination of H 2 O 2 . A wide linear range of 0.1–1274.3 μM and a low detection limit of 0.020 μM (S/N = 3) were obtained. The proposed sensor was employed in the determination of H 2 O 2 in milk and fetal bovine serum samples, which exhibited high sensitivity, high selectivity, good stability, and satisfactory feasibility. In the present work, graphene oxide nanoribbons (GONRs) were synthesized via the longitudinal unzipping of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) nanoparticles with the aid of strong oxidants. The MnO 2 /reduced graphene oxide Nanoribbons (MnO 2 /rGONRs) composites were successfully fabricated by means of a reproducible and single-step hydrothermal co-reduction of KMnO 4 and GONRs. The morphology and composition of as-prepared materials were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The as-prepared MnO 2 /rGONRs were employed in fabricating a nonenzymatic electrochemical sensor for the sensitive detection of hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ). The electrochemical properties of the MnO 2 /rGONRs modified glassy carbon electrode (MnO 2 /rGONRs/GCE) were studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and cyclic voltammetry (CV). The developed nonenzymatic electrochemical sensor exhibited well-defined amperometric response towards H 2 O 2 in a wide linear range of 0.25–2245 μM, and a detection limit of 0.071 μM (S/N = 3) could be obtained. And the proposed sensor also displayed excellent electrochemical analytical performance, acceptable reproducibility, high accuracy, and great anti-interference ability. A direct regioselective C sp2 –H trifluoromethylation of pyrimidinones and pyridinones using CF 3 SO 2 Na/Mn(OAc) 3 to afford 5-trifluoromethyl pyrimidinones and 3-trifluoromethyl pyridinones in moderate to good yields was described. The reaction showed that the steric hindrance due to bulky groups adjacent to the position of attack by the trifluoromethyl radical had important influence on the yield. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract: We in this paper first establish a new expression of the general solution to the consistent system of linear quaternion matrix equations , , , which was investigated recently [Q.W. Wang, H.X. Chang, C.Y. Lin, P-(skew)symmetric common solutions to a pair of quaternion matrix equations, Appl. Math. Comput. 195 (2008) 721–732], then derive the maximal and minimal ranks and the least-norm of the general solution to the system mentioned above. A novel copper-catalyzed sp3-carbon radical/carbamoyl radical cross-coupling protocol for the construction of C(sp3)-C(O) bond is described. This provides a straightforward method for synthesis of 2-carbamoyl-1,3-dicarbonyl compounds in good to excellent yields under mild conditions. Mechanistic studies confirms the generation of both carbamoyl and C(sp3)-centered radicals directly from oxidation of C(sp3)-H bond of formamides and 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, respectively. Abstrat In this work, a novel sandwich-structured graphene-based composite (PPD-GO) was prepared. The graphene-based composite was prepared by amination of graphene oxide (GO) with p -phenylenediamine (PPD) with the aid of the coupling reagents. And PPD was introduced into the interlayers of graphene nanosheets. The morphology, composition, and grafted functional groups of the composite were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. And PPD-GO was used as a highly efficient adsorbent for removal of Congo red from used from aqueous solutions. The whole adsorption process was studied in depth and elucidated systematically. A maximum Congo red adsorption capacity of 892.8 mg/g was obtained for PPD-GO composite at an initial temperature of 298 K and pH of 3.0. The second-order kinetic equation could well describe the sorption kinetics. The equilibrium data were perfectly fitted by the Langmuir isotherm. The thermodynamic analysis indicated that the adsorption of Congo red onto the PPD-GO composite was a spontaneous and endothermic process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The N-arylation of amines with arylhydrazines has been developed, achieving the selective cross-coupling of aryl radicals with amines to form N -aryl amines. The reaction uses air as an oxidant, CoPc and Cu(OAc) 2 as catalysts. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions in air through a relay process, arylhydrazines are oxidized to aryldiazenes by CoPc, further oxidized to aryl radicals by air (O 2 ), which are trapped by Cu(OAc) 2 –amine complex, followed by reduction–elimination reaction to form N -aryl amines. Arylamines and arylhydrazines give the highest yields, but N -aryl- N -alkylamines and N -alkylamines can be used as well. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
