This study provides the taxonomic data on 168 plant species belonging to 96 genera and 23 families of Liliopsida (monocotyledons) extant in Narsingdi district of Bangladesh. These species are mostly comprised of herbs (90.48%), followed by trees and shrubs (4.76% each). Poaceae with 66 species under 37 genera is the best represented family, followed by Cyperaceae with 26 species of seven genera, Araceae with 16 species of 11 genera, Commelinaceae with 11 species of four genera and Arecaceae with 10 species of eight genera. Cyperus with 13 species appears as the largest genus, which is followed by Panicum with nine species, Digitaria with six species, and Commelina and Dioscorea with five species each. The six upazilas of this district are 39.77% similar in the species composition of their Liliopsida, but the similarity between the pairs of upazilas varies from 6.45% to 32.31%. Roadside and fallow land habitats share the highest similarity (36.84%) in species composition. Total 117 species are distinguished as economically useful. This study suggests for implementation of necessary measures in order to minimize the major threats to this plant group and to favor its sustainable development in the study area. This article describes the herbarium database of the University of Lomé. The database provides a good representation of the current knowledge of the flora of Togo. The herbarium of University of Lomé, known also as Herbarium togoense is the national herbarium and is registered in Index Herbariorum with the abbreviation TOGO. It contains 15,000 specimens of vascular plants coming mostly from all Togo's ecofloristic regions. Less than one percent of the specimens are from neighbouring countries such as Ghana, Benin and Burkina Faso. Collecting site details are specified in more that 97% of the sheet labels, but only about 50% contain geographic coordinates. Besides being a research resource, the herbarium constitutes an educational collection. The dataset described in this paper is registered with GBIF and accessible at https://www.gbif.org/dataset/b05dd467-aaf8-4c67-843c-27f049057b78. It was developed with the RIHA software (Réseau Informatique des Herbiers d'Afrique). The third part of a series of monographic treatments of cercosporoid fungi (formerly Cercospora s. lat., Mycosphaerellaceae, Ascomycota) continues with a treatment of taxa on monocots (Liliopsida; Equisetopsida, Magnoliidae, Lilianae), covering asexual and holomorph species with mycosphaerellalike sexual morphs on true grasses (Poaceae), which were excluded from the second part. The species concerned are keyed out, alphabetically listed, described, illustrated and supplemented by references to previously published descriptions, illustrations, and exsiccatae. A key to the recognised genera and a discussion of taxonomically relevant characters was published in the first part of this series. Several species are lecto- or neotypified. Cercosporoid fungi (formerly Cercospora s. lat.) represent one of the largest groups of hyphomycetes belonging to the Mycosphaerellaceae (Ascomycota). They include asexual morphs, asexual holomorphs, or species with mycosphaerella-like sexual morphs. Most of them are leaf-spotting plant pathogens with special phytopathological relevance. In the first part of a new monographic work, cercosporoid hyphomycetes occurring on other fungi (fungicolous species), on ferns (pteridophytes) and gymnosperms were treated. This second part deals with cercosporoid fungi on monocots (Liliopsida; Equisetopsida, Magnoliidae, Lilianae), which covers species occurring on host plants belonging to families arranged in alphabetical order from Acoraceae to Xyridaceae, excluding Poaceae (cereals and grasses) which requires a separate treatment. The species are described and illustrated in alphabetical order under the particular cercosporoid genera, supplemented by keys to the species concerned. A detailed introduction, a survey of currently recognised cercosporoid genera, a key to the genera concerned, and a discussion of taxonomically relevant characters were published in the first part of this series. Neopseudocercospora, an additional recently introduced cercosporoid genus, is briefly discussed. The Sinfonevada database is a forest inventory that contains information on the forest ecosystem in the Sierra Nevada mountains (SE Spain). The Sinfonevada dataset contains more than 7,500 occurrence records belonging to 270 taxa (24 of these threatened) from floristic inventories of the Sinfonevada Forest inventory. Expert field workers collected the information. The whole dataset underwent a quality control by botanists with broad expertise in Sierra Nevada flora. This floristic inventory was created to gather useful information for the proper management of Pinus plantations in Sierra Nevada. This is the only dataset that shows a comprehensive view of the forest flora in Sierra Nevada. This is the reason why it is being used to assess the biodiversity in the very dense pine plantations on this massif. With this dataset, managers have improved their ability to decide where to apply forest treatments in order to avoid biodiversity loss. The dataset forms part of the Sierra Nevada Global Change Observatory (OBSNEV), a long-term research project designed to compile socio-ecological information on the major ecosystem types in order to identify the impacts of global change in this area. The herbarium of University of Extremadura (UNEX Herbarium) is formed by 36451 specimens of vascular plants whose main origin is the autonomous region of Extremadura (Spain) and Portugal, although it also contains a smaller number of specimens from different places, including the rest of peninsular Spain, the Baleares Islands, the Macaronesian region (Canary Islands, Madeira and Azores), northwest of Africa (Morocco) and Brazil. 98% of the total records are georeferenced. It is an active collection in continuous growth. Its data can be accessed through the GBIF data portal at http://data.gbif.org/datasets/resource/255 and http://www.eweb.unex.es/eweb/botanica/herbario/. A systematic floristic study of Rampahar reserve forest under Rangamati district in Bangladesh has revealed 89 monocot (Liliopsida) taxa belonging to 66 genera under 15 families. Out of these recorded taxa, 73 are herbs, 9 climbers, 3 bamboos, 3 reeds and 1 tree species. The area harbours 11 threatened species of the country. Updated nomenclature with full reference citation, habit and representative specimen have been provided for each species. Cladistic analysis of rbcL nucleotide sequences was applied to 58 taxa representing most subgenera and sections of Luzula and Juncus, chosen to reflect morphological and geographical diversity of both genera. Additionally, representatives of all other genera of the Juncaceae and two taxa from the Cyperaceae were included. Phylogenetic trees were constructed using parsimony with Prioniumserratum as outgroup. The dataset has 190 parsimony informative sites. The analysis yielded more than 332,400 equally parsimonious trees (length 620, CI=0.47, RI=0.82). A jackknife analysis revealed several well-supported clades. Luzula is monophyletic and Juncus is non-monophyletic. Each of the generally accepted subgenera of Juncus, subg. Juncus and subg. Agathryon, form a clade, but their circumscription differs from the traditional views. The subgenera recognized in Luzula remain mainly unresolved. A well-supported clade is represented by an assemblage of representatives of five genera and species distributed in the Southern Hemisphere: Juncuscapensis and J. lomatophyllus (both from section Graminifolii), Rostkovia, Distichia, Marsippospermum, and Patosia.
