The describes a case report involving a 41-year-old patient with a lumbar epidural catheter presented for a caesarian section for arrested labor. After the procedure, a Polysorb 2-0 suture needle was found missing and initial abdominal radiograph revealed an opacity in the midline consistent with the curvature and size of the missing needle. But a reevaluation by anesthesiologists found that the opacity was actually the catheter. The case highlights the limitation of solely using radiograph images for evaluating retained foreign bodies.
