The amendment of the Placement Act (UbG) aims to improve communication between the police, social and health authorities, and introduce specific provisions for minors. The changes will come into effect on July 1, 2023, and include regulations for admission to and discharge from psychiatric facilities, provisions for the placement of minors, as well as changes regarding treatment, restriction, termination of placement, judicial review, outpatient treatment, and absence. The reform aims to strengthen the quality of interaction with those affected and improve cooperation between relevant actors.
