This research studies the attitudes of teenagers from the city of Mérida, Venezuela, towards the use of verbs poner and colocar, departing from fourteen questionnaires given to teenagers between 12 and 15 years old, from both sexes, all of them students of the third stage of basic education (seventh, eighth and ninth grade). Results show a preference in teenagers from Merida for the use of the verb colocar, which could be due to the conception of this verb, in the group studied, as more prestigious in society.
