Since its resurrection, the resinicolous discomycete genus Sarea has been accepted as containing two species, one with black apothecia and pycnidia, and one with orange. We investigate this hypothesis using three ribosomal (nuITS, nuLSU, mtSSU) regions from and morphological examination of 70 specimens collected primarily in Europe and North America. The results of our analyses support separation of the traditional Sarea difformis s.lat. and Sarea resinae s.lat. into two distinct genera, Sarea and Zythia. Sarea as circumscribed is shown to conservatively comprise three phylospecies, with one corresponding to Sarea difformis s.str. and two, morphologically indistinguishable, corresponding to the newly combined Sarea coeloplata. Zythia is provisionally maintained as monotypic, containing only a genetically and morphologically variable Z. resinae. The new genus Atrozythia is erected for the new species A. klamathica. Arthrographis lignicola is placed in this genus on molecular grounds, expanding the concept of Sareomycetes by inclusion of a previously unknown type of asexual morph. Dating analyses using additional marker regions indicate the emergence of the Sareomycetes was roughly concurrent with the diversification of the genus Pinus, suggesting that this group of fungi emerged to exploit the newly-available resinous ecological niche supplied by Pinus or another, extinct group of conifers. Our phylogeographic studies also permitted us to study the introductions of these fungi to areas where they are not native, including Antarctica, Cape Verde, and New Zealand and are consistent with historical hypotheses of introduction. Este artículo presenta la Red de Escuelas de Empoderamiento de Bizkaia, formada por cuatro escuelas sitas en los municipios de Basauri, Ermua, Getxo y Ondarroa. El objetivo de este artículo es enmarcar el contexto de la Red de Escuelas de Empoderamiento de Bizkaia. Para ello, realizamos una mirada retrospectiva que nos sitúa en una geografía de municipios y en una historia particular que marca la identidad de las escuelas en el presente en términos de feminismo e igualdad siendo las mujeres protagonistas y clave del proyecto municipal y social. Asimismo, se exponen las líneas formativas implementadas en las escuelas para facilitar el camino empoderante, presentando los objetivos y ejes principales de los centros. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Surface sterilization is generally used for isolating lichen-inhabiting fungi as well as endophytic fungi, and ethanol and sodium hypochlorite are commonly used as the sterilizer. However, there are few studies on whether the type of chemicals used for surface sterilization affects the isolation results of lichen-inhabiting fungi. In this study, the genus composition of the lichen-inhabiting fungi of two lichen species (Flavoparmelia caperata and Peltigera dilacerata) were investigated 1) to reveal how the isolation result changes before and after surface sterilization and 2) to examine the effect of the sterilizer (ethanol, sodium hypochlorite, or hydrogen peroxide) on the composition of the isolated fungi. We isolated 652 non-lichenized fungal isolates from the two-lichen species and identified 84 genera. It was found that 1) every sterilizer effectively removed the fungi on the lichen surface and that 2) the composition of isolated fungi varied depending on the type of surface sterilizer. It was also shown that, such as the genus Sarea , there were some lichen-inhabiting fungi which could not be isolated at all by surface sterilization with ethanol or sodium hypochlorite, which are commonly used. In addition, the genus Virgaria was detected as lichen-inhabiting fungi for the first time. Our results suggest that single surface sterilization alone may underestimate the genus composition of lichen-inhabiting fungi. • The genus composition of lichen-inhabiting fungi were investigated. • Three sterilizers were used individually for surface sterilization. • The genus composition of isolates varied depending on the type of surface sterilizer. • Single sterilization method may undervalue the diversity of lichen-inhabiting fungi. Biatoridium lasiothecium is described as new to science from southeastern North America. The species differs from B. delitescens and B. monasteriense in the shaggy appearance of the ascomata, due to the elongation of individual paraphyses. A taxonomic key to morphologically similar, polysporous species, as well as other North American lichenized and non-lichenized fungi traditionally included in Biatorella, is provided.
