To estimate the effectiveness of the Couples Coping with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) Programme on GDM self-management and pregnancy outcomes. A randomised controlled trial among pregnant women with suboptimal GDM self-management and their partners was undertaken. Couples recruited from three hospitals in China were randomly allocated to either intervention (n = 70) or control (n = 70) conditions. Couples in the intervention group underwent the couple-based intervention (GDM education, shared illness appraisals, initiation of collaborative action and consolidation of collaborative action). Women in the control group received individual GDM education. Data were analysed using the independent samples t -test, chi-square test, and generalised estimating equations. GDM knowledge for the women and their partners and GDM self-management significantly improved in both the intervention and control groups, with stronger improvement in the intervention group. Women in the intervention group gained significantly less weight than those in the control group (11.2 kg ± 2.8 kg vs 13.1 kg ± 2.6 kg, p = 0.008). Infant birth weights were significantly lower in the intervention group (3.2 kg ± 0.3 kg vs 3.4 kg ± 0.4 kg, p = 0.008). There were no significant differences in other pregnancy outcomes. The Couples Coping with GDM Programme was associated with improvements in GDM knowledge of women and their partners and in women's self-management, and with lower gestational weight gain and infant birth weight. Background: The adoption of digitization has emerged as a new trend in the advancement of healthcare systems. To ensure high-quality care, nurses should possess sufficient skills to assist in the digital transformation of healthcare practices. Suitable tools have seldom been developed to assess nurses' skills in digital applications. This study aimed to develop the Nursing Digital Application Skill Scale (NDASS) and test its psychometric properties. Methods: The Nursing Digital Application Skill Scale was developed in three phases. In Phase 1, an item pool was developed based on previous literature and the actual situation of nursing work. Phase 2 included 14 experts' assessment of content validity and a focus group interview with 30 nurses to pretest the scale. In phase 3, 429 registered nurses were selected from March to June 2023, and item analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis were used to refine the number of items and explore the factor structure of the scale. Additionally, reliability was determined by internal consistency and test-retest reliability. Results: The final version of the NDASS consisted of 12 items. The content validity index of NDASS reached 0.975 at an acceptable level. The convergent validity test showed that the average variance extracted value was 0.694 (> 0.5) and the composite reliability value was 0.964 (> 0.7), both of which met the requirements. The principal component analysis resulted in a single-factor structure explaining 74.794% of the total variance. All the fitting indices satisfied the standard based upon confirmatory factor analyses, indicating that the single-factor structure contributed to an ideal model fit. The internal consistency appeared high for the NDASS, reaching a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.968. The test-retest reliability was 0.740, and the split-half coefficient was 0.935. Conclusion: The final version of the NDASS, which possesses adequate psychometric properties, is a reliable and effective instrument for nurses to self-assess digital skills in nursing work and for nursing managers in designing nursing digital skill training. Aims: The aims of the study were to explore the experiences of women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and their partners and examine the factors influencing partner involvement in GDM management, seeking to inform a targeted couple‐based intervention. Design: A descriptive qualitative study. Methods: We conducted semi‐structured interviews with 14 women with GDM and their partners. Participants were recruited through convenience sampling from a tertiary hospital in Xi'an, China. Data were analysed using thematic analysis. Results: Three themes and 12 subthemes were identified. Theme I: Women's expectations of their partner's involvement in GDM management—practical support and emotional support. Theme II: Partner involvement in GDM management—constructive involvement, unhelpful involvement with good intentions and insufficient involvement. Theme III: Factors that influence partner involvement in GDM—knowledge of GDM, GDM risk perception, health consciousness, attitudes towards the treatment plan, couple communication regarding GDM management, family roles and appraisal of GDM management responsibility. Conclusion: Women desired practical and emotional support from partners. The types of partner involvement in GDM management varied. Some partners provided constructive support, while some partners' involvement was limited, non‐existent or actively unhelpful. By combining these results with the factors influencing partner involvement, our findings may help healthcare professionals develop strategies to involve partners in GDM care and enhance women's ability to manage GDM. Implications for the Profession and Patient Care: Partner involvement in GDM care may help them understand and better attend to women's needs, thus improving their experience and potential outcomes. Purpose: We assessed the effectiveness of "timing it right" (TIR) applications in patients undergoing radiotherapy for head and neck cancer through a carefully designed TIR intervention program. The assessment in this study emphasized the impact of the TIR intervention on the unmet needs and psychological pain of patients with head and neck cancer at different stages of radiotherapy. Methods: In total, 140 radiotherapy patients were randomly recruited into two study groups: (1) the TIR intervention group received routine nursing follow-up and comprehensive nursing intervention based on TIR, and (2) the control group received routine nursing care. Assessments were conducted at baseline, before discharge, and 3 months and 6 months after discharge. The comprehensive needs and psychological pain of patients with radiotherapy were measured using the Comprehensive Needs Assessment Tool in Cancer for Patients (CNAT) and the Distress Thermometer (DT), respectively. A linear mixed model was applied to analyze the effects. Results: A total of 137 patients completed the study. Compared to the control group, the TIR group showed significant improvements in information needs, health and psychological problems, healthcare staff, physical symptoms, health facilities and services, religious/spiritual support, and psychological pain (F=8.503, p=0.004; F=1.896, p=0.003; F=12.422, p<0.001; F=9.634, p=0.001; F=7.310, p=0.006; F=1.684, p=0.009; F=1.692, p=0.041). In addition to practical support, the remaining indicators differed significantly by time point, group, and group-time interaction. Conclusions: The patient support application based on TIR can effectively address unmet needs and improve psychological pain, supporting TIR as an effective psychological management and intervention strategy for radiotherapy patients in the early stage of long-term rehabilitation. Objective: To assess the 5′ CpG island methylation of Fanconi anemia, complementation group F (FANCF) gene in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) tissues and normal ovarian tissues and to investigate the relationship between FANCF methylation and clinicopathologic features and prognosis of EOC. Methods: The experiment was performed with 112 EOC tissue samples (case group) and 60 normal ovarian tissues (control group). With methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction (MSP), FANCF methylation status of cases and controls was assessed. And the association between FANCF methylation and the clinicopathological features of EOC was investigated with univariate survival analysis and Cox regression model analysis. Results: The methylation-positive rate of the case group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P = 0.015). The FANCF promoter methylation rates showed significant differences in the comparisons stratified by age, International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) staging, histopathological classification, and lymph node metastasis (all P < .05). Univariate survival analysis showed there were significant differences in mean survival time between the groups based on FIGO staging, histopathological classification, lymph node metastasis, and FANCF methylation (all P < .05). Cox regression model analysis suggested that FIGO staging and FANCF methylation were independent risk factors for EOC prognosis. Conclusion: CpG island methylation of FANCF gene promoter region is strongly associated with the susceptibility and clinicopathologic features of EOC. The accumulation of cobalt(II) and antibiotics in the environmental water system has posed a significant threat to both human health and the safety of the ecological environment. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to look for a proficient means to detect cobalt(II) and antibiotics. Herein, we introduce a luminescent Zn-MOF, constructed with a thiazolo[5,4- d ]thiazole ligand that features a chromophore group, which serves as a sensor to detect cobalt(II) and antibiotics. The Crystal structure of {[Z n 2 (OBA) 2 (4 bpyttz)]·2DMF} (1) (4bpyttz=2,5-bis(pyridine-4-yl)thiazolo[5,4- d ]thiazole, H 2 OBA=4,4′-oxybis(benzoic acid)) displayed a 6-c net three-dimensional (3D) framework structure with novel topological type denoted as {44·610·8}. Moreover, luminescence sensing studies demonstrated that 1 exhibits high selectivity and multi-responsiveness of multiple ions mainly for Co2+, and nitrofuran antibiotics mainly for NZF, and NFT in an aqueous medium inducing turning-off effects. The detection limits are determined to be 1.14, 0.14, and 0.072 μ M for 1 , respectively. Additionally, MOF-derived fluorescence test papers and composite films were utilized for the visual detection of Co2+, NZF, and NFT, thereby expanding the potential applications of the system in real-world sensing. Furthermore, the potential luminescence quenching mechanism of MOF 1 regarding Co2+ ions and nitrofuran antibiotics could be deduced through various characterization methods. A process of intermittently cyclic activated sludge-membrane bioreactor (ICAS-MBR) was developed to enhance the performance of biological phosphorus removal (EBPR), which was constructed under sequencing anoxic/anaerobic/aerobic condition. The performance between ICAS-MBR and conventional anoxic/aerobic-membrane bioreactor (A/O-MBR) in terms of phosphorus removal, nitrification performance and microbial aspects were investigated in this study. The experimental results indicated that the phosphorus removal efficiency in ICAS-MBR process increased from 65% to 83% when compared with A/O-MBR. It was also found that the COD removal efficiencies of the two processes were over 94%, and –N and TN average removal efficiencies were 96% and 69% in ICAS-MBR and 96% and 78% in A/O-MBR, respectively. Furthermore, micrographs observation obtained confirmed the succession and diversification of microorganisms in the two systems followed a similar regularity. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

A model pipeline which dynamically simulates the drinking water distribution system was designed and kept running for twelve months with the tap water from Harbin. Biofilm was taken from its inner surface to isolate and identify the bacteria. Some biofilm was also taken from a real pipeline in Harbin. The results of microbiological analysis showed that there were similar dominant species both in the model and real pipeline, implying that those dominant species could grow well and form the biofilm easily under the same water quality and the same operating situation. The species vary with the length of the test period and reach a balance stage after a long test period. Some biofilm was analyzed by a scanning electron microscope for the further study of the bacterial growth. The SEM results confirmed that most of the bacterial growth on the inner surface of the pipeline were cocci and bacilli. In addition, the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and agarose gel eletrophoresis were used to detect Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Biofilm samples from the model pipeline and the real distribution pipeline were analyzed by PCR. The PCR result showed that there was no Pseudomonas aeruginosa in both of the pipelines. • A thiazolothiazole based Zn(II) metal−organic framework (MOF 1) has a 3-fold interpenetrated three-dimensional (3D) pillared-layer structure. • MOF 1 exhibits a turn-on fluorescent response towards Al3+ and a turn-off response towards oxoacid anions in an aqueous solution. • The possible luminescence enhancement mechanism of MOF 1 for Al3+could be an absorbance-caused enhancement, bonding interactions and/or electron transfer. Luminescent metal−organic frameworks(LMOFs) have been utilized to identify dangerous and toxic contaminants, biomarkers, and biological species. However, the luminescent properties in MOFs have been limited by the organic connectors. In this study, we present a Zn-MOF based on thiazolothiazole ligand, which exhibits fluorescent sensing properties through a mixed bipyridine-dicarboxylate strategy. {[Zn 2 (NDC) 2 (4bppyttz)]·1.5DMF} (MOF 1) (4bppyttz=2,5-bis(4-(pyridin-4-yl)phenyl)thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole, H 2 NDC=naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid) featured a three-fold interpenetrated pillared layer structure in the crystal structure. The fluorescent detection of Al3+ can be served as the turn-on effect and oxoacid anions such as CrO 4 2−, Cr 2 O 7 2−, and MnO 4 − can be served as turn-off effects. Furthermore, luminescence sensing studies demonstrated that MOF 1 showed high selectivity and multi-responsiveness primarily for Al3+, CrO 4 2−, MnO 4 −, and Cr 2 O 7 2− in an aqueous medium, with detection limits of 2.9, 3.4, 3.0, and 2.2 μM, respectively. To explain the quenching and enhancing mechanisms, XRD, absorption spectra, IR spectra, and theoretical calculations were discussed. Additionally, MOF-coated test strips were utilized to detect these ions, exhibiting excellent agreement with fluorescence spectroscopy. Objective: According to the development plan of the nursing profession,personnel system reform policy, the need of the post’s assessment, the aim of this study was to establish a scientific, practical comprehensive evaluation index system of the senior professional title nursing personnel in tertiary general hospital, in order to realize comprehensive evaluation about senior nurse scientifically and effectively. Methods: To establish alternative index library by the methods of literature analysis and Expert interviews methods, and then carried on the three questionnaires of 39 experts. Delphi method was used to screen and add the indexes. Results: By the methods of three questionnaires and statistical analysis, a scientific and practical comprehensive evaluation index system of senior nurses, which contains four first-Class indexes including professional quality, learning level, profession ability and outstanding achievements, fourteen second-class indexes and forty-seven third-class indexes. Conclusion: This study established a scientific,practical comprehensive evaluation index system of the senior nurse. The index system, which has moderate number of indicators, a clear hierarchical structure, defined appraisal criterion can perform comprehensive evaluation objectively and fairly for senior nurses.
