Sonodynamic Therapy (SDT) is a non-invasive means of eaneer treatment using focused ultrasound. The synergistic strategy based on SDT for liver cancer has high research significance and clinical translational value. This paper summarized the therapeutic mechanism and common acoustic sensitivities of SDT, analyzed the reasons why it is difficult to satisfy the current treatment of liver cancer tumors based on single mode acoustic dynamic therapy, and focused on the research progress of acoustic dynamic therapy, chemotherapy, photodynamic therapy, photothermal therapy and other dual synergistic treatment modes, as well as multi-mode synergistic therapy based on acoustic dynamic therapy. The aim is to provide reference and guidance for the future SDT collaborative mode treatment of liver cancer and other types of cancer. At the same time, it points out that SDT collaborative therapy still faces problems in the research process, such as the insignificant effect of single therapy and the few studies on multi-modal combined therapy. Finally, it puts forward the development prospect of developing new acoustic sensitizing agents, exploring the mechanism of combined therapy and realizing real-time diagnosis and treatment. Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) has been extensively studied as a new type of non-invasive treatment for mammary cancer. However, the poor water solubility and defective biocompatibility of sonosensitizers during SDT hinder the sonodynamic efficacy. Herein, a nanoplatform has been developed to achieve high efficient SDT against mammary cancer through the host-guest interaction of β-cyclodextrin/5-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin (β-CD-TPP) and ferrocenecarboxylic acid/chitooligosaccharides (FC-COS). Moreover, the glucose oxidase (GOx) was loaded through electrostatic adsorption, which efficiently restricts the energy supply in tumor tissues, thus enhancing the therapeutic efficacy of SDT for tumors. Under optimal conditions, the entire system exhibited favorable water solubility, suitable particle size and viable biocompatibility. This facilitated the integration of the characteristics of starvation therapy and sonodynamic therapy, resulting in efficient inhibition of tumor growth with minimal side effects in vivo. This work may provide new insights into the application of natural oligosaccharides for construct multifunctional nanocarrier systems, which could optimize the design and development of sonodynamic therapy strategies and even combination therapy strategies. Safety concerns about the effects of long-term extremely low-frequency electromagnetic field (ELF-EMF) exposure on human health have been raised. To explore the effects of continuous exposure to ELF-EMF on organisms for multiple generations, we selected Caenorhabditis elegans as a model organism and conducted long-term continuous exposure studies for multiple generations under 20 °C, 50 Hz, and 3 mT ELF-EMF. Each generation of worms was treated with ELF-EMF from the egg in the same environment. After long-term exposure to ELF-EMF, the body length of the worms was detected, and 15th generation adult worms were selected as the research object. The ATP level and ATPase were detected, and the expression levels of genes encoding ATP synthase (r53.4, hpo-18, atp-5, unc-32, atp-3) were detected by RT-PCR. In worm's antioxidant system, the level of reactive oxygen species (ROS) was detected by dichlorofluorescein staining, and the total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activity were investigated. The expression of genes encoding superoxide dismutase (sod-1, sod-2, sod-3) was detected in adult (60 h) worms of the fifteenth generation (F15). These results showed that the body length of F15 worms increased significantly, ATP content increased significantly, ATP synthase activity was significantly enhanced, and the expression levels of the r53.4, hpo-18, atp-5, and atp-3 genes encoding ATPase were significantly upregulated in F15 worms. In addition, SOD activity increased significantly, and the expression levels of the sod-1, sod-2, and sod-3 genes encoding SOD were also significantly upregulated in F15 worms. These results indicated that continuous exposure to 50 Hz, 3 mT ELF-EMF for multiple generations can increase the body length of worms, induce the synthesis of ATP and enhance the antioxidant capacity of worms. Purpose: With all-pervasive presence of extremely low-frequency electromagnetic field (ELF-EMF) in modern life, ELF-EMF has been regarded as an essential factor which may induce changes in many organisms. The objective of the present study was to investigate the physiological responses of Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) to 50 Hz, 3 mT ELF-EMF exposure. Materials and methods: Worms were exposed to ELF-EMF from the egg stage until reaching the fourth larva (L4) stage. After exposure, expressions of the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle enzymes were examined by qRT-PCR and western blot analysis. Two lipid metabolites were detected by GC-MS. Reactive oxygen species (ROS) level was detected by dichlorofluorescein staining and worm antioxidant system was investigated by enzymatic activity analysis, including detection of the superoxide dismutase and catalase (CAT) activity and the total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC). Results: The TCA cycle enzyme, fumarase was found with decreased expression under ELF-EMF exposure. And arachidonic acid (ArA) and prostaglandin E2(PGE2) showed elevated concentrations, with increased expression of prostaglandin E2 synthase (PGES-2) in ELF-EMF exposed worms. Significant elevation of ROS level was identified accompanied with the significant depression of T-AOC in response to ELF-EMF. Conclusions: Our results suggested that exposure to 50 Hz, 3 mT ELF-EMF in C. elegans can elicit disruptions of the TCA cycle metabolism and PGE2 formation, coupling ELF-EMF-induced oxidative stress responses. A literal mountain of documentation generated in the past five decades showing unmistakable health hazards associated with extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMFs) exposure. However, the relation between energy mechanism and ELF-EMF exposure is poorly understood. In this study, Caenorhabditis elegans was exposed to 50 Hz ELF-EMF at intensities of 0.5, 1, 2, and 3 mT, respectively. Their metabolite variations were analyzed by GC-TOF/MS-based metabolomics. Although minimal metabolic variations and no regular pattern were observed, the contents of energy metabolism-related metabolites such as pyruvic acid, fumaric acid, and L-malic acid were elevated in all the treatments. The expressions of nineteen related genes that encode glycolytic enzymes were analyzed by using quantitative real-time PCR. Only genes encoding GAPDH were significantly upregulated (P < 0.01), and this result was further confirmed by western blot analysis. The enzyme activity of GAPDH was increased (P < 0.01), whereas the total intracellular ATP level was decreased. While no significant difference in lifespan, hatching rate and reproduction, worms exposed to ELF-EMF exhibited less food consumption compared with that of the control (P < 0.01). In conclusion, C. elegans exposed to ELF-EMF have enhanced energy metabolism and restricted dietary, which might contribute to the resistance against exogenous ELF-EMF stress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

• Biocompatible EBH as a nucleator significantly enhanced crystallizability of biodegradable PES. • EBH interacted with crystalline carbonyl group and amorphous ester group of PES. • Rearrangement of carbonyl segment is faster than that of C C backbone for PES. • EBH increased thermal degradation temperature of PES. A biocompatible linear organic nucleator (EBH) was incorporated into biodegradable linear aliphatic poly(ethylene succinate) (PES) polyester to investigate effect of EBH on crystallization kinetics, aggregated structure and thermal stability of PES. Crystallization kinetic results suggested that EBH enhanced significantly crystallization rate and decreased substantially crystallization time of PES, and EBH is an excellent nucleator of PES. FTIR measurement indicated that hydrogen bond interaction exists between carbonyl group (of crystalline phase) and ester group (of amorphous phase) of PES and EBH. In-situ FTIR results revealed that upon incorporation of EBH, rearrangement of carbonyl group is faster than C C backbone of PES in crystallization process. Thermal degradation temperature of PES increased in the presence of EBH. EBH had little effect on crystal structure of EBH. Near-ship wakes approximately form a triangle region on the sea surface, and they differ from the background sea in a wave pattern, wave propagation direction and velocity, and fluid particle orbital motion. The differences are observed by along-track interferometric synthetic aperture radar (ATI-SAR) systems, and can be properly measured by the ATI techniques. In this paper, a detection method for near-ship wakes based on interferometric magnitude, phase and physical shape in ATI-SAR systems is proposed. The complex multi-look interferometric information for near-ship wakes is first utilized to detect potential pixels. Then, a cluster algorithm is designed based on the interferometric phase and spatial position characteristics of near-ship wakes. After clustering the detected pixels and performing image close operation, the near-ship wakes, which is the triangular region with a much larger physical area than those of common ships or other false alarms, can be identified. In this work, the β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) was modified by a phosphazene compound to prepare a novel amorphous derivate (β-CDCP), which was combined with the ammonium polyphosphate (APP) as a synergistic flame retardant (FR) of the bio-based poly(L-lactic acid) (PLA). The effects of the APP/β-CDCP on the thermal stability, combustion behavior, pyrolysis process, fire resistance performance and crystallizability of the PLA were investigated comprehensively and in depth by thermogravimetric (TG) analysis, limited oxygen index (LOI) analysis, UL-94 test, cone calorimetry measurement, TG-infrared (TG-IR), scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectrometer, Raman spectroscopy, pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry and differential scanning calorimetry. The PLA/5%APP/10%β-CDCP showed a highest LOI of 33.2 %, passed V -0 rating and exhibited self-extinguish phenomenon in the UL-94 test. Also, it presented a lowest peak of heat release rate, total heat release, peak of smoke production rate and total smoke release, and a highest char yield treated by cone calorimetry analysis. In addition, the 5%APP/10%β-CDCP shortened significantly crystallization time and enhanced crystallization rate of the PLA. Gas phase and intumescent condensed phase fire proofing mechanisms are proposed to elucidate enhanced fire resistance in this system in detail. • Modified β-CD (β-CDCP) was synthesized successfully with microsphere-like structure. • PLA/5%APP/10%β-CDCP showed the highest LOI, achieved V-0 level and exhibited self-extinguish phenomenon. • PLA/5%APP/10%β-CDCP presented intumescent char layer to enhance fire proofing performance. • 5%APP/10%β-CDCP extremely enhanced crystallizability of PLA. A linear diamides derivative-containing organic compound (TMC306) as a nucleator was incorporated into biodegradable poly (ethylene succinate) (PES) to investigate effect of TMC306 on crystallization behavior and aggregated structure of PES. Upon incorporation of TMC306 with lower weight fraction (f TMC306), crystallization temperature (T c), crystallization rate (k) and degree of crystallinity (X c) of PES enhanced significantly and crystallization half-time (t 1/2) reduced substantially. However, T c , k and X c declined progressively in the presence of higher f TMC306. Based on IR results, it suggested that TMC-306 interacts with –C O group of PES and C–O–C group of PES amorphous phase via hydrogen bond. Mechanisms on nucleation of PES and dual effects of TMC306 on crystallization behavior of PES were proposed and discussed in detail. • TMC306 with lower content increased crystallizability of PES, but that with higher one decreased it. • TMC306 interacts with C O group of PES and C–O–C group of amorphous PES. • Enhanced crystallizability of PES with lower content of TMC306 is attributed to nucleation effect of TMC306. • Reduced crystallizability of PES with higher content of TMC306 is ascribed to dual effects (hydrogen bond and nucleation).
