FeSe microparticles coated by ultrathin nitrogen-doped carbon (FeSe@NC) have been synthesized through the dopamine coating of FeOOH precursor and the post-calcination treatment. The strong interfacial interaction between FeSe and NC guarantees FeSe@NC with fast electron/Na+ transport kinetics and outstanding structural stability. Transition metal selenides have gained enormous interest as anodes for sodium ion batteries (SIBs). Nonetheless, their large volume expansion causing poor rate and inferior cycle stability during Na+ insertion/extraction process hinders their further applications in SIBs. Herein, a confined-regulated interfacial engineering strategy towards the synthesis of FeSe microparticles coated by ultrathin nitrogen-doped carbon (NC) is demonstrated (FeSe@NC). The strong interfacial interaction between FeSe and NC endows FeSe@NC with fast electron/Na+ transport kinetics and outstanding structural stability, delivering unexceptionable rate capability (364 mAh/g at 10 A/g) and preeminent cycling durability (capacity retention of 100 % at 1 A/g over 1000 cycles). Furthermore, various ex situ characterization techniques and density functional theory (DFT) calculations have been applied to demonstrate the Na+ storage mechanism of FeSe@NC. The assembled Na 3 V 2 (PO 4) 2 F 3 @rGO//FeSe@NC full cell also displays a high capacity of 241 mAh/g at 1 A/g with the capacity retention of nearly 100 % over 2000 cycles, and delivers a supreme energy density of 135 Wh kg−1 and a topmost power density of 495 W kg−1, manifesting the latent applications of FeSe@NC in the fast charging SIBs. Thermosensitive and tumor microenvironment activated nanotheranostic can be used as a promising nanoplatform for highly efficient chemodynamic/photothermal therapy of colorectal tumor. [Display omitted] This research proposes the one-pot preparation of polydopamine (PDA) decorated mesoporous silica nanoparticle (PMSN) for the thermal and tumor micro-environment (TME) responsive colorectal tumor therapy. The pores of PMSN were used for the Fe3+ loading. Lauric acid (LA), a phase-change ligand, was selected as a "doorkeeper" to coat the surface of Fe3+-loaded PMSN and prevent the undesired leakage of Fe3+. Bovine serum albumin (BSA) was selected as a stabilizer to endow the PMSN-Fe-LA-BSA nanopartilces (PMFLB) with colloidal stability. Under the near infrared laser, the light-sensitive PDA produced significant heat to kill the colorectal cancer cells via hyperthermia. Moreover, the heat induced the phase-change of LA and triggered the release of Fe3+, which further reacted with the endogenous H 2 S in the colorectal TME. After that, the Fe3+ was transformed into Fe2+, which triggered the Fenton reaction with the H 2 O 2 in the TME and effectively generated hydroxyl radical (·OH). Finally, the Fe2+ was transformed into Fe3+, which repeatedly reacted with the H 2 S and produced more ·OH to enhance the chemodynamic therapy of colorectal tumor. Paroxysmal kinesigenic dyskinesia (PKD) is a rare condition characterized by recurrent brief episodes of dystonia, chorea, athetosis or any combination of these, without alterations of consciousness. The proline-rich transmembrane protein 2 (PRRT2) gene has been widely investigated as a causative gene of PKD. To date, a cluster of pathogenic variants associated with PKD have been identified in the PRRT2 gene. In the present case report, two Chinese patients with sporadic PKD are discussed. Genetic analysis revealed a de novo heterozygous missense mutation, c.955G>T (p.Val319Leu) in exon 3 of the PRRT2 gene. Compared with the commonly reported clinical manifestation of PRRT2-associated PKD, the patients in this report showed several primary distinctive features. The mutations identified in the present analysis expand upon the mutation spectrum of the PRRT2 gene, and this newly found variant further reinforces the importance of the PRR2 gene in PKD. Many companies in the automotive industry have adopted model-driven development in their vehicle software development. As a major automotive company, General Motors (GM) has been using a custom-built, domain-specific modeling language, implemented as an internal proprietary metamodel, to meet the modeling needs in its control software development. Since AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture (AUTOSAR) has been developed as a standard to ease the process of integrating components provided by different suppliers and manufacturers, there has been a growing demand to migrate these GM-specific, legacy models to AUTOSAR models. Given that AUTOSAR defines its own metamodel for various system artifacts in automotive software development, we explore applying model transformations to address the challenges in migrating GM-specific, legacy models to their AUTOSAR equivalents. As a case study, we have built and validated a model transformation using the MDWorkbench tool, the Atlas Transformation Language, and the Metamodel Coverage Checker tool. This paper reports on the case study, makes observations based on our experience to assist in the development of similar types of transformations, and provides recommendations for further research. Two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides, particularly MoS 2 nanosheets, have been deemed as a novel category of NIR photothermal transducing agent. Herein, an efficient and versatile one-pot solvothermal synthesis based on “bottom-up” strategy has been, for the first time, proposed for the controlled synthesis of PEGylated MoS 2 nanosheets by using a novel “integrated” precursor containing both Mo and S elements. This facile but unique PEG-mediated solvothermal procedure endowed MoS 2 nanosheets with controlled size, increased crystallinity and excellent colloidal stability. The photothermal performance of nanosheets was optimized via modulating the particulate size and surface PEGylation. PEGylated MoS 2 nanosheets with desired photothermal conversion performance and excellent colloidal and photothermal stability were further utilized for highly efficient photothermal therapy of cancer in a tumor-bearing mouse xenograft. Without showing observable in vitro and in vivo hemolysis, coagulation and toxicity, the optimized MoS 2 -PEG nanosheets showed promising in vitro and in vivo anti-cancer efficacy. We report a facile approach to preparing laponite (LAP) bioceramics via sintering LAP powder compacts for bone tissue engineering applications. The sintering behavior and mechanical properties of LAP compacts under different temperatures, heating rates, and soaking times were investigated. We show that LAP bioceramic with a smooth and porous surface can be formed at 800°C with a heating rate of 5°C/h for 6 h under air. The formed LAP bioceramic was systematically characterized via different methods. Our results reveal that the LAP bioceramic possesses an excellent surface hydrophilicity and serum absorption capacity, and good cytocompatibility and hemocompatibility as demonstrated by resazurin reduction assay of rat mesenchymal stem cells (rMSCs) and hemolytic assay of pig red blood cells, respectively. The potential bone tissue engineering applicability of LAP bioceramic was explored by studying the surface mineralization behavior via soaking in simulated body fluid (SBF), as well as the surface cellular response of rMSCs. Our results suggest that LAP bioceramic is able to induce hydroxyapatite deposition on its surface when soaked in SBF and rMSCs can proliferate well on the LAP bioceramic surface. Most strikingly, alkaline phosphatase activity together with alizarin red staining results reveal that the produced LAP bioceramic is able to induce osteoblast differentiation of rMSCs in growth medium without any inducing factors. Finally, in vivo animal implantation, acute systemic toxicity test and hematoxylin and eosin (H&E)-staining data demonstrate that the prepared LAP bioceramic displays an excellent biosafety and is able to heal the bone defect. Abstract: We report a facile approach to fabricating electrospun drug-loaded organic/inorganic hybrid nanofibrous system for antibacterial applications. In this study, nano-hydroxyapatite (n-HA) particles loaded with a model drug, amoxicillin (AMX) were dispersed into poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) solution to form electrospun hybrid nanofibers. The loading of AMX onto n-HA surfaces (AMX/n-HA) and the formation of AMX/n-HA/PLGA composite nanofibers were characterized using different techniques. We show that AMX can be successfully adsorbed onto the n-HA surface and the formed AMX/n-HA/PLGA composite nanofibers have a uniform and smooth morphology with improved mechanical durability. Cell viability assay and cell morphology observation reveal that the formed AMX/n-HA/PLGA composite nanofibers are cytocompatible. Importantly, the loaded AMX within the n-HA/PLGA hybrid nanofibers shows a sustained release profile and a non-compromised activity to inhibit the growth of a model bacterium, Staphylococcus aureus. With the significantly reduced burst-release profile, good cytocompatibility, improved mechanical durability, as well as the remained antibacterial activity, the developed AMX/n-HA/PLGA composite nanofibers should find various potential applications in the fields of tissue engineering and pharmaceutical science. Abstract: We report the fabrication of a novel carbon nanotube-containing nanofibrous polysaccharide scaffolding material via the combination of electrospinning and layer-by-layer (LbL) self-assembly techniques for tissue engineering applications. In this approach, electrospun cellulose acetate (CA) nanofibers were assembled with positively charged chitosan (CS) and negatively charged multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) or sodium alginate (ALG) via a LbL technique. We show that the 3-dimensional fibrous structures of the CA nanofibers do not appreciably change after the multilayered assembly process except that the surface of the fibers became much rougher than that before assembly. The incorporation of MWCNTs in the multilayered CA fibrous scaffolds tends to endow the fibers with improved mechanical property and promote fibroblast attachment, spreading, and proliferation when compared with CS/ALG multilayer-assembled fibrous scaffolds. The approach to engineering the nanofiber surfaces via LbL assembly likely provides many opportunities for new scaffolding materials design in various tissue engineering applications. Hydrogel is a three-dimensional network polymer material rich in water. It is widely used in the biomedical field because of its unique physical and chemical properties and good biocompatibility. In recent years, the incidence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has gradually increased, and the disadvantages caused by traditional drug treatment of IBD have emerged. Therefore, there is an urgent need for new treatments to alleviate IBD. Hydrogel has become a potential therapeutic platform. However, there is a lack of comprehensive review of functional hydrogels for IBD treatment. This paper first summarizes the pathological changes in IBD sites. Then, the action mechanisms of hydrogels prepared from chitosan, sodium alginate, hyaluronic acid, functionalized polyethylene glycol, cellulose, pectin, and γ-polyglutamic acid on IBD were described from aspects of drug delivery, peptide and protein delivery, biologic therapies, loading probiotics, etc. In addition, the advanced functions of IBD treatment hydrogels were summarized, with emphasis on adhesion, synergistic therapy, pH sensitivity, particle size, and temperature sensitivity. Abstract: We report the fabrication of water-stable electrospun γ-polyglutamic acid (γ-PGA) nanofibers with morphology control for biomedical applications. In this study, the processing variables including polymer concentration, flow rate, applied voltage, collection distance, and ambient humidity were systematically optimized to generate uniform γ-PGA nanofibers with a smooth morphology. By changing the trifluoroacetic acid concentration in the electrospinning solution, the diameter of the γ-PGA nanofibers can be controlled within the range of 186–603nm. To render the γ-PGA nanofibers with good water stability, cystamine was employed as a crosslinking agent to amidate the carboxyl groups of γ-PGA. Furthermore, 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide colorimetric assay in conjunction of cell morphology observation reveals that the obtained γ-PGA nanofibers have an excellent biocompatibility to promote the cell adhesion and proliferation. We anticipate that the fabricated electrospun γ-PGA nanofibers with controllable morphology and good water stability may find extensive applications in future development of tissue engineering scaffold materials, drug delivery systems, environmental remediation, and sensing. Featured with a three-dimensional network structure, electrostatic spinning nanofibrous membranes can maintain the hygroscopic balance in the wound place and promote the wound healing, thus have been extensively studied as a promising wound healing dressing. In this study, amoxicillin (AMX), MXene, and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) were mixed and electrospun into an antibacterial nanofibrous membrane (MXene-AMX-PVA nanofibrous membrane). In the composite nanofibrous membrane, the PVA matrix could control the release of AMX to combat bacterial infection, while the MXene could transform the near-infrared laser into heat, leading to local hyperthermia to promote the AMX release. Meanwhile, the local hyperthermia could also destroy the noncellular components of bacteria and synergistically cause the bacterial inactivation. The bacteriostatic activity and wound healing ability of the composite nanofibrous membrane were systematically verified on the S. aureus in vitro and the S. aureus -infected mouse skin defect model in vivo. This membrane not only functioned as a physical barrier to co-load the AMX and MXene, but also exhibited the high antibacterial and accelerated wound healing capacity, which will advance the design of novel wound healing dressings and antibacterial strategies. Constructing runtime tasks, or operating system-level processes/threads, from the components of software design models is crucial to the model-based development of embedded control software. A better method should explore more design choices and reduce the overheads of the runtime system to meet the timing and resource constraints of embedded control software. This paper presents a novel, two-step method for systematic and automated construction of runtime tasks from software design models. It uses graph transformation to construct a task set meeting system-level end-to-end (e2e) timing constraints. Its first step decomposes the system-level e2e timing constraints into the components' timing constraints, which form a necessary condition for any valid and feasible schedule. The second step iteratively merges the components into tasks and sequences their executions. A thus-constructed task set is proven to meet both intercomponent precedence and system-level e2e timing constraints and to minimize runtime overheads by minimizing the total number of resultant tasks. Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a complex inflammatory disease caused by multiple etiologies, the pathogenesis of which has not been fully elucidated. Oxidative stress is important for the regulation of inflammation-related signaling pathways, the recruitment of inflammatory cells, the release of inflammatory factors, and other processes, and plays a key role in the occurrence and development of AP. In recent years, antioxidant therapy that suppresses oxidative stress by scavenging reactive oxygen species has become a research highlight of AP. However, traditional antioxidant drugs have problems such as poor drug stability and low delivery efficiency, which limit their clinical translation and applications. Nanomaterials bring a brand-new opportunity for the antioxidant treatment of AP. This review focuses on the multiple advantages of nanomaterials, including small size, good stability, high permeability, and long retention effect, which can be used not only as effective carriers of traditional antioxidant drugs but also directly as antioxidants. In this review, after first discussing the association between oxidative stress and AP, we focused on summarizing the literature related to antioxidant nanomaterials for the treatment of AP and highlighting the effects of these nanomaterials on the indicators related to oxidative stress in pathological states, aiming to provide references for follow-up research and promote clinical application. Establishing a physical barrier between the peritoneum and the cecum is an effective method to reduce the risk of postoperative abdominal adhesions. Meloxicam (MX), a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug has also been applied to prevent postoperative adhesions. However, its poor water solubility has led to low bioavailability. Herein, we developed an injectable hydrogel as a barrier and drug carrier for simultaneous postoperative adhesion prevention and treatment. A third-generation polyamide-amine dendrimer (G3) was exploited to dynamically combine with MX to increase the solubility and the bioavailability. The formed G3@MX was further used to crosslink with poly-γ-glutamic acid (γ-PGA) to prepare a hydrogel (GP@MX hydrogel) through the amide bonding. In vitro and in vivo experiments evidenced that the hydrogel had good biosafety and biodegradability. More importantly, the prepared hydrogel could control the release of MX, and the released MX is able to inhibit inflammatory responses and balance the fibrinolytic system in the injury tissues in vivo. The tunable rheological and mechanical properties (compressive moduli: from ∼ 57.31 kPa to ∼ 98.68 kPa;) and high anti-oxidant capacity (total free radical scavenging rate of ∼ 94.56 %), in conjunction with their syringeability and biocompatibility, indicate possible opportunities for the development of advanced hydrogels for postoperative tissue adhesions management. • A facile and simple solvothermal method is developed to fabricate SnSe 2 nanosheets. • SnSe 2 nanosheets composed by small nanoparticles feature a thickness of 97 nm prepared at 180 °C for 25 h. • SnSe 2 nanosheets exhibit good cycling and rate performance in SIBs without carbon coating. SnSe 2 nanosheets, composed by small nanoparticles, have been synthesized via a solvothermal method with different times and temperatures. SnSe 2 prepared at 180 °C for 25 h, exhibits small size of nanoparticles (5 nm), thin thickness of nanosheets (97 nm) and large surface area (6.32 m2 g−1), revealing good electrochemical performance. It achieves an initial charge capacity of 484 mAh g−1 at 0.1 A g−1, a high initial Coulombic efficiency of 82%, and a stable charge capacity of 361 mAh g−1 even after 200 cycles at 1 A g−1. [Display omitted] In emergencies, uncontrolled severe bleeding can result in undesired complications and even death of the injured. Designing advanced hemostatic agents is a potential solution for emergency hemostasis, yet it remains challenging to realize the persistent adhesion in a wet wound environment. In this study, based on dynamic reversible Schiff base bond and photo-initiated double-bond polymerization, a novel injectable hemostatic hydrogel (L -COC) consisting of methacrylated carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCSMA), oxidized konjac glucomannan (OKGM) and (+)-catechin hydrate (CH) was synthesized for emergency hemostasis. To our delight, the incorporated CH imparted enhanced blood procoagulantion to the L -COC hydrogel by intensifying the hydrogel-red blood cell interactions. As a result, the hemostatic effect of the engineered L -COC hydrogel was significantly superior to that of fluid gelatin SurgifloTM for liver bleeding wounds in rats (Blood loss: 0.62 ± 0.11 g (L -COC), 0.90 ± 0.08 g (SurgifloTM); hemostasis time: 69.0 ± 2.9 s (L -COC), 84.0 ± 2.2 s (SurgifloTM)). With the favorable antioxidant and antibacterial activities, as well as multifunctional properties, the bio-adhesive L -COC hydrogel and the underlying design principles may facilitate further development of practical hemostatic hydrogels. Two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials are receiving ever-increasing interests in biomedical applications owing to their special physicochemical characteristics. The ability to use this kind of 2D nanomaterials as drug delivery systems, tumor photothermal/photodynamic therapy agents, and diagnostic imaging agents give a strong incentive to research their in vitro and in vivo toxicities. In the review, the state-of-the-art progress of the fabrication, in vitro and in vivo toxicity research results of 2D nanomaterials including graphene and its derivatives, transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), boron nitride nanosheets (BN), black phosphorus nanosheets (BP), metals nanosheets, g-C 3 N 4 nanosheets, layered double hydroxide (LDH), clay nanosheets and other 2D nanomaterials were summarized. Upon discussing the design and surface modifications of 2D nanomaterials for therapeutic purpose, this review then concentrates on the biocompatibility study results of these 2D materials and discusses the influence of different parameters on their biocompatibility, both in vitro and in vivo. The in vitro compatibility mainly focuses on the upper limits of tolerance of different cell lines and genotoxicity of 2D nanomaterials while the in vivo compatibility embraces hemocompatibility, histocompatibility and neurotoxicity. Besides, typical in vitro and in vivo methods that were used for the biocompatibility assays were also summarized. Hydrogels are three-dimensional crosslinked functional materials with water-absorbing and swelling properties. Many hydrogels can store a variety of small functional molecules to structurally and functionally mimic the natural extracellular matrix; hence, they have been extensively studied for biomedical applications. Polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimers have an ethylenediamine core and a large number of peripheral amino groups, which can be used to engineer various polymer hydrogels. In this review, an update on the progress of using PAMAM dendrimers for multifunctional hydrogel design was given. The synthesis of these hydrogels, which includes click chemistry reactions, aza-Michael addition, Schiff base reactions, amidation reactions, enzymatic reactions, and radical polymerization, together with research progress in terms of their application in the fields of drug delivery, tissue engineering, drug-free tumor therapy, and other related fields, was discussed in detail. Furthermore, the biomedical applications of PAMAM-engineered nano-hydrogels, which combine the advantages of dendrimers, hydrogels, and nanoparticles, were also summarized. Excess free radicals at the wound site can cause an inflammatory response, which is not conducive to wound healing. Hydrogels with antioxidant properties can prevent inflammatory storms by scavenging free radicals from the wound site and inhibiting the release of inflammatory factors. In this study, we prepared the carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS)/polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP)/Molybdenum (IV) Selenide (MoSe2), and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) (CMCS/PVP/MoSe2/PRP) hydrogels for accelerating the repair of wounds. In the hydrogels, the MoSe2 can scavenge various free radicals to reduce oxidative stress at the site of inflammation, endowed the hydrogels with antioxidant properties. Interestingly, growth factors released by PRP assisted the tissue repair by promoting the formation of new capillaries. CMCS as a backbone not only showed good biocompatibility and biodegradability but also played a significant role in maintaining the sustained release of growth factors. In addition, incorporating PVP enhanced the tissue adhesion and mechanical properties. The multifunctional composite antioxidant hydrogels have good swelling properties and biodegradability, which is completely degraded within 28 days. The rapid development of functional materials and manufacturing technologies is fostering advances in piezoelectric materials (PEMs). PEMs can convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. Unlike traditional power sources, which need to be replaced and are inconvenient to carry, PEMs have extensive potential applications in smart wearable and implantable devices. However, the application of conventional PEMs is limited by their poor flexibility, low ductility, and susceptibility to fatigue failure. Incorporating hydrogels, which are flexible, stretchable, and self-healing, providing a way to overcome these limitations of PEMs. Hydrogel-based piezoelectric materials (H-PEMs) not only resolve the shortcomings of traditional PEMs but also provide biocompatibility and more promising application potential. This paper summarizes the working principle of H-PEMs. Recent advances in the use of H-PEMs as sensors and in vitro energy harvesting devices for smart wearable devices are described in detail, with emphasis on application scenarios in human body like fingers, wrists, ankles, and feet. In addition, the recent progress of H-PEMs in implantable medical devices, especially the potential applications in human body parts such as bones, skin, and heart, are also elaborated. Paroxysmal kinesigenic dyskinesia (PKD) is associated with a disturbance of neural circuit and network activities, while its neurophysiological characteristics have not been fully elucidated. This study utilized the high‐density electroencephalogram (hd‐EEG) signals to detect abnormal brain activity of PKD and provide a neural biomarker for its clinical diagnosis and PKD progression monitoring. The resting hd‐EEGs are recorded from two independent datasets and then source‐localized for measuring the oscillatory activities and function connectivity (FC) patterns of cortical and subcortical regions. The abnormal elevation of theta oscillation in wildly brain regions represents the most remarkable physiological feature for PKD and these changes returned to healthy control level in remission patients. Another remarkable feature of PKD is the decreased high‐gamma FCs in non‐remission patients. Subtype analyses report that increased theta oscillations may be related to the emotional factors of PKD, while the decreased high‐gamma FCs are related to the motor symptoms. Finally, the authors established connectome‐based predictive modelling and successfully identified the remission state in PKD patients in dataset 1 and dataset 2. The findings establish a clinically relevant electroencephalography profile of PKD and indicate that hd‐EEG can provide robust neural biomarkers to evaluate the prognosis of PKD. Multifunctional nanomaterials for cancer therapy has attracted researchers' attention for decades. In this study, a unique oxidative method using KMnO4 or K2MnO4 as oxidizing agents to oxidize dopamine (DA) to polydopamine (PDA) was reported. The oxidizing agent was reduced to MnOx to form MnOx/PDA composite NPs. Afterwards, the MnOx/PDA composite NPs were surface‐modified with bovine serum albumin (BSA) to form a multifunctional theranostic agent, named MnOx/PDA@BSA NPs, with improved colloidal stability and biocompatibility. Such a material would become a photothermal nanoagent, since the PDA renders the composite NPs an admirable photothermal transforming ability with the photothermal conversion efficiency of 27.06%. Meanwhile, as a commonly used T1 contrast agent, manganese (Mn2+) endowed the MnOx/PDA@BSA NPs with MRI ability, rendering the as‐synthesized MnOx/PDA composite NPs a capability of imaging guided multi‐modal tumor therapy. Moreover, the formed MnOx/PDA@BSA NPs were used for drug loading, which was found to own the tunable drug loading and controlled drug releasing capacity. The as‐prepared composite NPs were successfully used for the combined tumor chemotherapy and photothermal therapy in vitro and in vivo. High recurrence rates after surgery and unacceptable side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy are challenges in the treatment of osteosarcoma (OS). Therefore, the development of nanoplatforms with combined tumor inhibition efficiency and fewer side effects is a promising strategy for the treatment of OS. In this paper, a biocompatible therapeutic nanoplatform (Fe-Zr@PDA@GOx) was constructed with a simple and efficient strategy for the treatment of OS. First, as an excellent Fenton reaction reagent, iron ions in the nanoplatform can generate highly toxic hydroxyl radicals (•OH) with hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2) in the tumor microenvironment and induce tumor cell death. Then, the modification of polydopamine endows the nanoplatform with photothermal responsiveness, with a photothermal conversion efficiency of 28.0%. Importantly, the conversed heat by polydopamine both promotes the release of glucose oxidase (GOx) and increases the rate of the Fenton reaction. Furthermore, GOx-mediated starvation treatment (SDT) can also provide suitable reaction conditions and sufficient H 2 O 2 to realize the amplification of chemodynamic therapy (CDT). Finally, the doping of Zr ions can interact with Fe to form dual active centers in the Fenton reaction and further accelerate the generation of •OH. We propose a server-based approach to manage a general-purpose graphics processing unit (GPU) in a predictable and efficient manner. Our proposed approach introduces a GPU server that is a dedicated task to handle GPU requests from other tasks on their behalf. The GPU server ensures bounded time to access the GPU, and allows other tasks to suspend during their GPU computation to save CPU cycles. By doing so, we address the two major limitations of the existing real-time synchronization-based GPU management approach: busy waiting within critical sections and long priority inversion. We have implemented a prototype of the server-based approach on a real embedded platform. This case study demonstrates the practicality and effectiveness of the server-based approach. Experimental results indicate that the server-based approach yields significant improvements in task schedulability over the existing synchronization-based approach in most practical settings. The specificity of the tumor microenvironment (TME) severely limits the effectiveness of tumor treatment. In this study, we prepared a composite nanoparticle of manganese dioxide and selenite by a one-step redox method, and their stability under physiological conditions was improved with a bovine serum protein modification to obtain MnO2/Se-BSA nanoparticles (SMB NPs). In the SMB NPs, manganese dioxide and selenite endowed the SMB NPs with acid-responsive and catalytic, and antioxidant properties, respectively. The weak acid response, catalytic activity, and antioxidant properties of composite nanoparticles were verified experimentally. Moreover, in an in vitro hemolysis assay, different concentrations of nanoparticles were incubated with mouse erythrocytes, and the hemolysis ratio was less than 5%. In the cell safety assay, the cell survival ratio was as high as 95.97% after the co-culture with L929 cells at different concentrations for 24 h. In addition, the good biosafety of composite nanoparticles was verified at the animal level. Thus, this study helps to design high-performance and comprehensive therapeutic reagents that are responsive to the hypoxia, weak acidity, hydrogen peroxide overexpression nature of TME and overcome the limitations of TME. In this study, a methacrylic gelatin/oxidized dextran/montmorillonite‑strontium/polypyrrole (GOMP) hydrogel was prepared. The GOMP hydrogel had dual network structure which was formed through photoinitiator-initiated double bond polymerization and Schiff base reaction. The network structure led to a sustained release of the antitumor drug, doxorubicin (DOX). Polypyrrole introduced the conductivity and high photothermal conversion capacity to the GOMP hydrogel, which showed a photothermal conversion efficiency of 31.61 % under 808 nm laser radiation. The GOMP hydrogel had good swelling properties in solvents. Further study showed that the GOMP hydrogel had good biocompatibility and excellent biodegradability in vitro and in vivo. The experiments of in vitro tumor therapy and in vivo anti-tumor recurrence indicated that the DOX-loaded GOMP hydrogel had synergistic effects on tumor cell apoptosis based on chemotherapy and photothermal therapy. In addition, montmorillonite‑strontium (MMT-Sr) doped in the hydrogel not only improved the mechanical properties of the hydrogel but also promoted potential bone regeneration. The design of new hemostatic materials to mitigate uncontrolled bleeding in emergencies is challenging. Chitosan-based hemostatic hydrogels have frequently been used for hemostasis due to their unique biocompatibility, tunable mechanical properties, injectability, and ease of handling. Moreover, chitosan (CS) absorbs red blood cells and activates platelets to promote hemostasis. Benefiting from these desired properties, the hemostatic application of CS hydrogels is attracting ever-increasing research attention. This paper reviews the recent research progress of CS-based hemostatic hydrogels and their advantageous characteristics compared to traditional hemostatic materials. The effects of the hemostatic mechanism, effects of deacetylation degree, relative molecular mass, and chemical modification on the hemostatic performance of CS hydrogels are summarized. Meanwhile, some typical applications of CS hydrogels are introduced to provide references for the preparation of efficient hemostatic hydrogels. Currently, hydrogels are widely studied for wound dressings. However, wound healing is often hindered by bacterial infection. In this study, in situ cross-linked carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS)/oxidized dextran (OD)/poly-γ-glutamic acid (γ-PGA) (COP) hydrogel was prepared for antimicrobial and hemostasis of diffuse wounds. In the COP hydrogel, γ-PGA was able to drain the surface moisture of the wound to enhance the surface adhesion. Moreover, γ-PGA could concentrate blood by absorbing plasma, and CMCS could electrostatically adsorb negative RBCs. The antibacterial properties of CMCS and OD endowed the COP hydrogel with certain antibacterial effects. In the inhibition zone experiment, an obvious inhibition zone appeared around the COP hydrogel. In vivo studies showed that the COP hydrogel significantly inhibited bacterial growth and promoted wound healing. In the rat tail diffuse hemorrhage wound model, the COP hydrogel showed superior hemostasis ability. Malignant tumor has always been a complex disease that endangers human health. Traditional treatment methods include surgical resection, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. However, solid tumors are prone to recur. Herein, we developed a hydrogel-based drug-carrying system to prevent postoperative tumor recurrence. Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose was modified with dopamine via the N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS) and 1-ethyl-(3-dimethylaminopropyl) carbanyl diimide (EDC)-mediated coupling chemistry. The CMC-DA-MnO2/MnO (CDM) hydrogel was prepared by oxidative cross-linking, using KMnO4 as the oxidizing agent. In the hydrogel, the KMnO4 can not only be used as an oxidant to trigger the polymerization and gelation of CMC-DA but also transformed into MnO2 and MnO to afford the T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The fluorescent dye IR808 as a photosensitizer was introduced into the hydrogel system by simply soaking the CDM hydrogel in the IR808 solution. Under the 808 nm laser irradiation, IR808 and PDA endowed the hydrogel with tumor photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT) capacities, respectively. [Display omitted] In this study, polyvinyl pyrrolidone modified tungsten disulfide (WS 2 -PVP) nanoflower was synthesized using a simple and effective one-pot method. Owing to the surface polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) modification, WS 2 -PVP nanoflowers showed excellent colloidal stability in different circumstances, which can be well dispersed in water, saline, and cell culture medium. Meanwhile, the WS 2 -PVP nanoflowers have a good biocompatibility both in vitro and in vivo. Further studies confirmed that the WS 2 -PVP nanoflowers have the ability of simulating catalase, superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase enzymes and scavenging reactive oxygen species (ROS). Therefore, WS 2 -PVP nanoflowers were used to treat reactive oxygen species-related diseases, which showed the cell protection effect and significantly improved the treatment results of acute liver injury on mice. Massive bleeding is a great threat to the life safety of patients, which is a challenging clinical problem. Therefore, it is urgent to develop a kind of multifunctional dressing material with hemostatic ability and antibacterial performance to promote wound healing and repair. To resolve this issue, in this study, a carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS)/sodium alginate (SA)/oxidized dextran (ODE) (CSO) multifunctional hydrogel was developed. The hydrogel could rapidly gel through Schiff base reaction and amide reaction and firmly adhere to the skin at the wound, to realize the fast hemostasis. Importantly, it was verified that the hydrogel could prevent the Staphylococcus aureus -caused wound infection, owing to the antibacterial effect of CMCS and ODE. In addition, the CSO hydrogel had good water retention capacity and was able to mimic the three-dimensional structure of the natural extracellular matrix, thereby promoting wound repair in mice. In vitro whole-blood clotting assay demonstrated that red blood cells could be adhered to the surface of hydrogel, showing good hemostasis in rat liver injury and tail amputation models. Chitosan has been widely used in biomedical fields due to its good antibacterial properties, excellent biocompatibility, and biodegradability. In this study, a pH-responsive and self-healing hydrogel was synthesized from 3-carboxyphenylboronic acid grafted with chitosan (CS-BA) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). The dynamic boronic ester bonds and intermolecular hydrogen bonds are responsible for the hydrogel formation. By changing the mass ratio of CS-BA and PVA, the tensile stress and compressive stress of hydrogel can controlled in the range of 0.61 kPa - 0.74 kPa and 295.28 kPa - 1108.1 kPa, respectively. After doping with tannic acid (TA)/iron nanocomplex (TAFe), the hydrogel successful killed tumor cells through the near infrared laser-induced photothermal conversion and the TAFe-triggered reactive oxygen species generation. Moreover, the photothermal conversion of the hydrogel and the antibacterial effect of CS and TA give the hydrogel a good antibacterial effect. The CS-BA/PVA/TAFe hydrogel exhibit good in vivo and in vitro anti-tumor recurrence and antibacterial ability, and therefore has the potential to be used as a powerful tool for the prevention of local tumor recurrence and bacterial infection after surgery. Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is one of the major causes of gastrointestinal diseases, including gastric cancer. However, the acidic environment of the stomach and H. pylori resistance severely impair the antimicrobial efficacy of oral drugs. Here, a biocompatible chitosan-modified molybdenum selenide (MoSe 2 @CS) was designed for the simultaneous photothermal treatment of H. pylori infection and gastric cancer. MoSe 2 @CS showed a photothermal conversion efficiency was as high as 45.7 %. In the H. pylori -infected mice model, MoSe 2 @CS displayed a high bacteriostasis ratio of 99.9 % upon near-infrared irradiation. The antimicrobial functionality was also proved by transcriptomic sequencing study, which showed that MoSe 2 @CS combined with NIR laser irradiation modulated the gene expression of a variety of H. pylori bioprocesses, including cell proliferation and inflammation-related pathways. Further gut flora analysis results indicated that MoSe 2 @CS mediated PTT of H. pylori did not affect the homeostasis of gut flora, which highlights its advantages over traditional antibiotic therapy. In addition, MoSe 2 @CS exhibited a good photothermal ablation effect and significantly inhibited gastric tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. Background: Mutations in PRRT2 and 16p11.2 microdeletion including PRRT2 have been identified as the pathogenic cause of paroxysmal kinesigenic dyskinesia (PKD). Objective: The objective was to investigate the clinical and genetic features of PKD and to analyze the genotype–phenotype correlation. Methods: We recruited PKD patients, recorded clinical manifestations, and performed PRRT2 screening in 150 PKD patients by unified PKD registration forms. Genotype–phenotype correlation analyses were conducted in probands. High-knee-exercise (HKE) tests were applied in one hundred and six patients. Results: Eight PRRT2 mutations were detected, accounting for 22.76% of the probands. Three mutations (c.649dupC, c.649delC, and c.510_513delTCTG) were already reported, while four mutations (c.252_264delCACAGACCTCAGC, c.503_504delCT, c.679C > T, and c.804C > A) were first reported. One heterozygous microdeletion of 606 kb in 16p11.2 was detected in one patient. Compared with non-PRRT2 mutation carriers, the PRRT2 mutation carriers were younger at onset, experienced longer attacks, and tended to present with complicated PKD, combined phenotypes of dystonia and chorea. 57.01% of patients could effectively induce movement disorders through the HKE test. A good response was shown in 81.93% of the patients prescribed with antiepileptic drugs. 13.54% (13/96) had abnormal EEG results. Conclusions: PRRT2 mutations are common in patients with PKD and are significantly associated with an earlier age at onset, longer duration of attacks, a complicated form of PKD, combined phenotypes of dystonia and chorea. Patients with microdeletion of 16p11.2 may have more severe manifestations. The HKE test could contribute to the diagnosis of PKD. In recent years, multifunctional hydrogels have received a great deal of attention because they are biocompatible and can mimic the extracellular matrix. Herein, we prepared hydrogels of biocompatible cross-linked networks with photothermal properties. In this study, a chitosan/polyaniline/laponite (COL) hydrogel with photothermal conversion capability was designed. Polyaniline was firstly grafted onto chitosan and its solution was mixed with oxidized dextran, which was then cross-linked into a hydrogel via a Schiff base reaction. Furthermore, an aluminosilicate clay material, laponite (LAP), was incorporated into the hydrogel. The swelling ratio of the COL hydrogel in various solutions was greater than 580%, and it showed good degradation ability (the mass–loss ratio was over 45% after 28 days). This composite hydrogel was demonstrated to have good photothermal conversion properties and biocompatibility at both the cell (cell viability was over 97%) and animal levels. The COL hydrogel showed a photothermal conversion efficiency of 23.7% under the irradiation of a near-infrared laser. Coupled with the osteogenic differentiation-inducing potential of LAP, the COL hydrogel has the potential to kill tumors via hyperthermia or serve as scaffolds for bone tissue regeneration. In this study, a low-cost and high-performance MoS 2 /sodium alginate (SA)/Fe (MSF) hydrogel catalyst was prepared. It was found that the MSF hydrogel could efficiently catalyze the degradation of methylene blue (MB) through the Fenton reaction without the addition of Fe2+. The reaction was initiated by Fe2+ which was derived from the cyclic redox reaction between MoS 2 and Fe3+ and produced large quantities of ·OH to degrade the MB. The effect of MoS 2 concentration, FeCl 3 ·6H 2 O concentration, H 2 O 2 dosage, solution pH, and light on the degradation was systematically studied. The MoS 2 concentration of 0.5 mg/ mL, FeCl 3 ·6H 2 O concentration of 0.25 g/mL, 50 μL H 2 O 2 , and the pH of 4.0 were the optimized parameters. Moreover, it was found that the MB degraded faster under the infrared radiation. The MB removal rate reached as high as 98% within 15 min in the presence of a low concentration of H 2 O 2 and the procedure could be repeated 5 times. The MSF hydrogel provided an effective and simple strategy for the sustainable degradation of organic pollutants in wastewater. Cisplatin (cis-diammine-dichloro-platinum II, CDDP) is one of the most commonly used chemotherapeutic agents for the treatment of esophageal cancer, and its clinical application has been greatly limited due to non-specific administration, severe systemic toxicity, and reduced efficacy due to drug resistance. The special physicochemical properties of hydrogels enable them to achieve a sustained controlled release of CDDP and to maintain high local drug concentrations over a long period, but the problem of drug resistance still needs to be addressed. Herein, CS-BA-PVA, a pH-responsive hydrogel is used to co-load CDDP and divalent copper ion (Cu2+) for constructing a drug delivery system CS-BA-PVA@Cu/CDDP to achieve controlled and sustained drug release. Once reaching the acidic tumor microenvironment (TME), CS-BA-PVA@Cu/CDDP specifically responds and disassembles to release CDDP for chemotherapy against cancer. Besides, the simultaneous release of Cu2+ can deplete the intracellular glutathione (GSH) for increased toxicity of CDDP as well as catalyzing the decomposition of intra-tumoral H 2 O 2 into highly toxic •OH for chemodynamic therapy (CDT). Moreover, the substantially reduced GSH can also protect the yielded •OH from scavenging and thus greatly improve the •OH-based CDT effect. Herein, FeOOH sheets doped with Cu and S atoms (Cu-S/FeOOH) were prepared via a simple hydrothermal method and then uniformly modified on a glassy carbon electrode to assemble a novel non-enzymatic electrochemical sensor for H 2 O 2 detection. The sensor showed an excellent electrocatalytic reduction ability of H 2 O 2 at a potential of -0.4 V in a nearly neutral solution, demonstrating a lower detection limit (0.6 μM, S/ N = 3), and a high sensitivity (321.4 μA mM−1cm−2) with 95 % confidence interval in the potential range 0.002–9 mM. This super performance was attributed to the multiple effects of the typical sheet-like open structure, enhanced electrochemical conductivity, rich adsorbed oxygen content, and Fenton Cu+/Cu2+ and Fe2+/Fe3+ redox coupling. Wound healing is a complex physiological process involving hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and tissue remodeling. Therefore, there is an urgent need for suitable wound dressings for effective and systematical wound management. Polypeptide-based hydrogel bio-adhesives offer unique advantages and are ideal candidates. However, comprehensive reviews on polypeptide-based hydrogel bio-adhesives for wound healing are still lacking. In this review, the physiological mechanisms and evaluation parameters of wound healing were first described in detail. Then, the working principles of hydrogel bio-adhesives were summarized. Recent advances made in multifunctional polypeptide-based hydrogel bio-adhesives involving gelatin, silk fibroin, fibrin, keratin, poly-γ-glutamic acid, ɛ-poly-lysine, serum albumin, and elastin with pro-healing activities in wound healing and tissue repair were reviewed. Finally, the current status, challenges, developments, and future trends of polypeptide-based hydrogel bio-adhesives were discussed, hoping that further developments would be stimulated to meet the growing needs of their clinical applications. Exogenous antioxidant materials mimicking endogenous antioxidant systems are commonly used for the treatment of oxidative stress-induced injuries. Thus, artificial enzymes have emerged as promising candidates for balancing and treating the dysregulation of redox homeostasis in vivo. Herein, a one-pot hydrothermal strategy for the facile preparation of MoSe2-polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) nanoparticles (NPs) is reported. The synthesized NPs were biodegradable due to their exposure to oxygen and exhibited high stability. Moreover, they effectively mimicked various naturally occurring enzymes (including catalase, superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, and glutathione peroxidase) and scavenged free radicals, such as 3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid, ·OH, ·O2−, and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical. Further apoptosis detection studies revealed that MoSe2-PVP NPs significantly increased the cell survival probability in H2O2 in a concentration-dependent manner. The cytoprotective effect of MoSe2-PVP NPs was explored for an animal model of acute pancreatitis, which confirmed its remarkable therapeutic efficacy. Developing economical, efficient and stable bifunctional catalysts for hydrogen production from seawater is of great significance for hydrogen utilization. Herein, sulfur doped iron oxide nanosheet arrays supported on nickel foam (FeOx–Ni3S2@NF) are prepared by a one-pot solvothermal reaction. Owing to the high intrinsic activity of FeOx–Ni3S2, the large catalytic specific surface area of nanosheet arrays and the fast charge transportation capability achieved by the self-supporting configuration, the FeOx–Ni3S2@NF electrode delivers excellent catalytic performance in alkaline simulated seawater (1 M KOH + 0.5 M NaCl). Impressively, a low overpotential of 120 mV at 50 mA cm−2 with a Tafel slope of 57 mV dec−1 for the hydrogen evolution reaction and an overpotential of 470 mV at 200 mA cm−2 with a Tafel slope of 62 mV dec−1 for the oxygen evolution reaction are achieved. More importantly, the voltage is only 1.5 V at 50 mA cm−2 for continuous overall water splitting for 100 h at 200 mA cm−2 with negligible decay in alkaline simulated seawater with almost 100% Faraday efficiency. This work provides a simple and universal strategy to prepare highly efficient bifunctional catalytic materials, promoting the development of Earth-abundant materials to catalyse seawater splitting to produce high-purity hydrogen. We have prepared a type of magnetic mesoporous nanomaterial with aggregation-induced emission properties (Fe3O4@mSiO2@TPA@BA, hence abbr. FSTB) to detect and remove cyanide ions (CN−) under magnetic conditions. FSTB has a large specific surface area and improved fluorescence performance to identify CN−, and its superparamagnetic behavior plays an important role in removing CN−. The magnetic sensor FSTB shows excellent selectivity and anti-interference for the detection of CN− in aqueous solutions. It is obvious from the equation LOD = 3δ/S that the limit of detection (LOD) of FSTB for CN− is significantly lower than the permissible level of CN− in drinkable water recommended by the World Health Organization. Among various kinds of photothermal conversion materials, polypyrrole (PPy) has attracted ever‐increasing attention because of its good biocompatibility and excellent near‐infrared light response property. In this research, the core‐shell nanoparticles with magnetic Fe3O4 as the core and mesoporous silica (MSN) as the shell were prepared, the resulted Fe3O4@MSN nanoparticles were then surface coated with a layer of PPy and further modified with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) to gain colloidal stability. The Fe2+ in Fe3O4 can catalyze the decomposition of H2O2 in tumor cells to produce cytotoxic hydroxyl radicals, thus realizing the tumor chemodynamic therapy. Meanwhile, the MSN layer gives the nanoparticles a higher drug loading capacity of chemotherapeutics (doxorubicin, DOX). Therefore, the prepared Fe3O4@MSN@PPy‐PVP nanoparticles not only have good biocompatibility, magnetism and colloidal stability but also can realize the combined tumor photothermal, chemo, and chemodynamic therapy. The combination of photothermal therapy (PTT) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) has attracted attention due to its enhanced tumor therapy effect. This study proposes a novel nanoenzyme-based theranostic nanoplatform, IrO2@MSN@PDA-BSA(Ce6), for the combined PTT and PDT of tumors. IrO2 was prepared by a simple hydrolysis method and coated with a thin layer of mesoporous silica (MSN) to facilitate the physical adsorption of Chlorin e6 (Ce6). The PDA coating and IrO2 NPs of the nanoplatform demonstrated an improved photothermal conversion efficiency of 29.8% under NIR irradiation. Further, the Ce6 loading imparts materials with the ability to produce reactive oxygen species (ROS) under 660 nm NIR laser irradiation. It was also proved that the IrO2 NPs could catalyze the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in the tumor microenvironment (TME) to generate endogenous oxygen (O2), thereby enhancing the efficiency of PDT. The in vitro and in vivo experiments indicated that the nanocomposite was highly biocompatible and could produce a satisfactory tumor therapeutic effect. Transition metal chalcogenides have been investigated as underlying anodes for sodium ion batteries (SIBs). Nevertheless, the unsatisfactory property, which is determined by huge volume variation and low conductivity, restricts their practical applications. The design of micro-nano hierarchitectures is a resultful approach to strengthen structural stability and reaction kinetics during the discharge-charge process. Herein, urchin-like FeS 2 hierarchitectures wrapped with reduced graphene oxide and N-doped multi-wall carbon nanotubes (FeS 2 @N-CNTs@rGO) are designed and synthesized by hydrothermal route. FeS 2 @N-CNTs@rGO shows high capacity with 578 mAh g−1 at 0.1 A g−1, splendid rate property with 419 mAh g−1 at 5 A g−1 and preeminent capacity retention (≈100%) over 750 cycles at 2 A g−1. The reversible phase transformation, capacitive Na+ storage behaviour and micro-nano hierarchitectures are responsible for the outstanding rate performance. • Urchin-like FeS 2 @N-CNTs@rGO spheres are prepared by a simple hydrothermal method. • N-CNTs and rGO endow FeS 2 high conductivity and buffer the volume expansion. • Sodium ion battery with FeS 2 @N-CNTs@rGO delivers high capacity and long lifespan. Hydrogels have been widely used as wound dressings to accelerate wound healing. However, due to the impaired skin barrier at the wound site, external bacteria can easily invade the wound and cause infection. In this study, we designed a dopamine-modified sodium alginate/carboxymethyl chitosan/polyvinylpyrrolidone (CPD) hydrogel, which was able to promote wound healing while preventing wound infection. Due to the high content of catechol groups, the CPD hydrogel exhibited good tissue adhesion ability and a significant scavenging ability for DPPH• and PTIO• radicals. Under near-infrared laser irradiation, the temperature of CPD hydrogel increased significantly, which significantly killed the Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The cell migration test confirmed that CPD hydrogel could promote the cell migration ratio. In the in vivo wound healing test for infected full-thickness skin defect, CPD hydrogel significantly inhibited bacterial proliferation and enhanced wound healing rate. Benefiting from the biocompatibility, adhesiveness, and natural extracellular matrix-mimicking ability, hydrogels have received increasing research in recent years. In this study, a hydrogel system composed of dopamine, quaternized ammoniated chitosan (QCS), and polyvinylpyrrolidone was reported to exhibit fast hemostatic properties in Sprague-Dawley rat tail amputation and liver bleeding models. The results showed that this hydrogel had good hemostatic properties. The designed hydrogel showed high swelling ratios in H 2 O, PBS, and 0.9 % NaCl solution, indicating its capability to absorb tissue residual exudate and form a stable hydrogel. Compared with the control group, the blood loss in Sprague-Dawley rat tail amputation and liver bleeding were reduced by nearly 78 % and 76 %, respectively. Interestingly, dopamine endowed the hydrogel with antioxidant properties, thus holding a great application promise in inflammatory wounds. Furthermore, the designed hydrogel demonstrated good and reversible adhesion properties (12.23 ± 0.22 kPa–24.31 ± 0.55 kPa), ensuring its firm attachment to bleeding wounds of pig skin in wet environments.
