In light of the fact that an increasing number of upper secondary school students in Estonia work in parallel with attending school or during school holidays, the purpose of the study was to ascertain whether work experience and the competencies acquired through work are, in combination with other school-related (teacher agency support), personal (resilience, achievement in Estonian language, mathematics and history) and socio-demographic (gender and mother tongue) factors, related to student agency in school. The second aim was to broaden the understanding of what students learn at work. The study used a mixed-methods approach involving a survey of upper secondary students (aged 16–19, N = 3179) in 30 schools followed by qualitative interviews with 18–19-year-old students who have gained work experience (N = 13). The analysis comprises a hierarchical linear regression analysis (N = 1947) and a thematic analysis of the interviews. The results indicate that work experience, perseverance, teacher agency support, male gender and Estonian mother tongue are positively related to agency while various skills learned at work had no relationship and student achievement in history was only relevant before work experience was added to the model. Based on cognitive-affective system theory and using tour guides, hotel and attraction staff as subjects, three experimental studies investigated the effect of using service robots on career identity. The results were that: (1) the use of service robots significantly affected career identity; (2) emotional exhaustion mediated the relationship between service robot use and career identity; and (3) years of work experience and staff age positively moderated the main effect. Our study aims to evaluate the influence of five key factors--Communication and Attitude, Professional Knowledge, Responsibility, Skills, and Work Experience--on Managerial Decision-Making to understand how these factors contribute to effective decision-making processes. The findings indicate that Communication and Attitude have the most consistent and stable impact, making them reliable predictors of decision-making outcomes, while Skills show the highest level of variability, meaning their influence can fluctuate across different situations or contexts. Professional Knowledge and Skills emerged as the most significant contributors, with statistically significant positive impacts on Managerial Decision-Making, suggesting that organizations should prioritize the development of these areas to improve decision-making effectiveness. The purpose of the study was to analyze the occupational self-efficacy of football referees and to determine classification difference, occupational experience, foreign language level, and second occupation variables effect on occupational self-efficacy. The population of the study was composed of football referees from different classifications who officiated in Turkish Football Federations 10th region. The sample consisted of 78 classification referees who officiated in 8 city which were connected to Turkish Football Federation 10th region. The data were collected using Occupational Self-Sufficiency Scale has two part and which is developed by Schyns ve Von Collani (2002). The first part of the scale was the demographic characteristics of the referees and the second part was the Occupational Self-efficacy Scale. In the data analysis process, normality tests was conducted to the data and according to the results to determine differences between groups Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis H test were used. To determine the relationship between demographic variables such as age, income, occupational experience and occupational self-efficacy level Pearson Correlation Coefficient test was conducted. As a conclusion, recent study, which was conducted on football referees, emphasized that welfare level, self-improvement (communication ability in foreign language) and having longer work experience had positive effect on subjects' general occupational efficacy levels. The aim of this article is to report on Italian nurses' perceptions of their performance and work-related behaviors. The data for the study were derived from a questionnaire that included the items from the Individual Workplace Performance Scale, which was distributed via the internet during March 2021. The analysis of the responses found that women complained more about their work than men. Older nurses reported concerns about keeping up-to-date; they also thought that they carried out their work more efficiently than younger nurses and that they were better able to come up with creative solutions for new problems. The nurses who had been working for 6 to 10 years reported feeling more vulnerable in their positions. How do young people experience their work in the contemporary world of work? To answer this, we studied Contact Center agents -direct managers of the client in different services-. We will show (through interviews and documents) that, although outsourced Contact Centers in Argentina allow certain young people to "easily" access a job, managerial programming weakens their permanence there, configuring an extended type of "precarization by performance". We will argue that this brief but intense passage of agents through the Contact Centers (trans)forms their ways of being in terms of being able (or not) to face stressful work situations, becoming an experience that leaves marks. This study investigates the relationships among hotel employees' resilience, job satisfaction, and work engagement. It also explores the mediating role of job satisfaction and the moderating role of hotel employees' work experience. The hypotheses are examined using data collected from 454 employees working in 4- and 5-star hotels in major cities in Thailand, including Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket. Findings highlight the significant effect of resilience on the job satisfaction and work engagement of employees. Job satisfaction is confirmed as a mediator, while work experience is a moderator that increases the influence of resilience on the job satisfaction of senior hotel employees. This paper investigates the effects of migration and work experience on university-to-work transitions of German university graduates. We use a job search model, signaling and social network theory to discuss different links between the duration of labor market entry, graduate mobility and work experience. We apply event history analyses and make use of administrative social security records to examine whether work experience and pre-study as well as post-study migration accelerates the labor market entry of graduates. Our regression results stress the importance of both mobility and work experience for the length of the transition period. A recent meta-analysis found reciprocal prospective effects between self-esteem and some aspects of work experience, for example, job satisfaction, and the authors concluded that their findings were consistent with a causal model, where self-esteem affects, and is affected by, work experiences. However, the prospective effects were estimated while adjusting for a prior measure of the outcome variable, and it is known that such adjusted cross-lagged effects may be spurious due to a correlation between the predictor and residuals in the initial measurement of the outcome and regression to the mean. The present reanalyses of the same meta-analytic data found all prospective effects between self-esteem and work experiences to be spurious. Does working in a low-wage job lead to increased opportunities for upward mobility, or is it a dead-end that traps workers? In this article, we examine whether low-wage jobs are "stepping-stones" that enable workers to move to higher-paid jobs that are linked by institutional mobility ladders and skill transferability. To identify occupational linkages, we create two measures of occupational similarity using data on occupational mobility from matched samples of the Current Population Survey (CPS) and data on multiple dimensions of job skills from the O*NET. We test whether work experience in low-wage occupations increases mobility between linked occupations that results in upward wage mobility. Our analysis uses longitudinal data on low-wage workers from the 1979 National Longitudinal Study of Youth (NLSY) and the 1996 to 2008 panels of the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP). We test the stepping-stone perspective using multinomial conditional logit (MCL) models, which allow us to analyze the joint effects of work experience and occupational linkages on achieving upward wage mobility. We find evidence for stepping-stone mobility in certain areas of the low-wage occupational structure. In these occupations, low-wage workers can acquire skills through work experience that facilitate upward mobility through occupational changes to skill and institutionally linked occupations. Employee performance in the workplace is evaluated based on achieving objectives and the level of success an individual attains, with satisfactory performance indicated by goal completion. Various factors within the organization, such as technical abilities, interpersonal skills, and professional background, can influence performance. This research aims to evaluate the individual and collective impacts of technical abilities, interpersonal skills, and professional background on employee performance. The study employed quantitative research methods, focusing on PT Langkat Nusantara Kepong in Padang Brahrang Regency of Langkat, with a sample size of 85 selected through probability sampling. Data were gathered using a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed through instrument testing, assessment of classical assumptions, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing using MS Excel and SPSS version 25. Results indicate that technical abilities, interpersonal skills, and professional background significantly and positively affect employee performance both individually and collectively. The coefficient of determination test reveals a strong correlation between these variables, with an R value of 0.982. Furthermore, the Adjusted R Square value suggests that technical abilities, interpersonal skills, and professional background collectively contribute to 96.4% of employee performance, with the remaining 3.6% attributed to unexamined external factors [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Job crafting is the process of individuals redefining and adjusting their job in personally meaningful ways to improve their work experience. In this multiple case study, we explore how a group of kindergarten teachers conducted job crafting and examine its potential outcomes. Based on criterion sampling and purposeful selection, we recruit 28 kindergarten teachers and four principals working in Shanghai, China. Qualitative interviews and the analysis of kindergarten teachers' diaries and work documents demonstrate that kindergarten teachers are not necessarily passive recipients of job characteristics; instead, they have the potential to be proactive agents in their work. Teachers craft their jobs in four main ways: task crafting, relational crafting, cognitive crafting, and work-life crafting. In addition, they employ 12 specific crafting techniques. The interviews reveal that by aligning work with teachers' abilities, needs, and preferences, job crafting can help improve kindergarten teachers' work experience and reduce occupational dysfunction. The results call for more focus on individual teachers' discretionary and extra-role work behaviors. The findings have implications for policymakers, administrators, and principals in considering crafting a new pathway to increase staff stability, reduce teacher attrition, and improve education quality in early childhood settings. This study uses the 2018 National Graduates Survey (NGS) to examine how postsecondary education grades are related to the labour market earnings of workers, and the potential moderating effects of work experience during school, work placements related to the field of study, and training acquired since graduation. Using simple regression models, we find non-causal evidence that the overall grade point average is positively related to earnings. This suggests that higher grades may translate into higher labour market earnings independently of other employment and training effects, indicating that the strength of the grade point average signal to employers is not weakened. Background: Nursing students' experiences during clinical training in aged care placements is a well‐studied topic. However, there is less research on the connection between nursing students' prior experiences as assistants in nursing (AIN) and their perception of aged care nursing. Aim: The aim of this study was to identify and synthesize undergraduate nursing students' experiences as working as AIN in aged care settings. Method: A systematic review was carried out by searching the CINAHL, Scopus, Medline and Medic databases, supplemented by manual searches. The searches focused on peer‐reviewed scientific empirical research articles published in English, with a 10‐year date limitation. The data were analysed by the qualitative content method. Results: The review identified 11 articles, which showed that nursing students' prior work experience shifts their perceptions of older adults' care. The findings were organized under four major themes. Through their employment as AIN, (1) nursing students' ability to reflect and develop skills needed in clinical work strengthened, (2) they became aware of the independent role of the nurse, (3) they feel part of the workplace community and (4) they recognized their feelings and views about aged care as a career. Conclusion: Students' work experience in aged care helps them to observe aged care settings as a unique set up and nursing comprehensively from the perspective of an older adult's care needs and they can observe the dynamics of a workplace community. The paper reports the findings of over a decade of pioneering, award-winning fieldwork which has explored how workplace experience, if embedded successfully in different stages of legal education, can accelerate the 'speed to capability' and skills development of early career lawyers. The benefits from initial experiments of graduate-level work placements carried out by the authors since 2008 are presented. The paper then explores the findings from almost 10 years of creating year-long work placements for law undergraduates, assessing student skill growth, and the impact of the work placements on degree results and employment outcomes, before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The present study questions the indiscriminate use -- or misuse -- of job performance self-rating measures in work and organizational psychology. We provide evidence for systematic cognitive distortions in the traditional predictors (i.e., work engagement and work experience) of self-ratings of job performance. A cross-sectional study was conducted (N = 470) where employees were asked to fill in a questionnaire composed of self-report measures on job performance, work engagement, and systematic cognitive distortions. Findings suggest that highly engaged older (i.e., aging) employees tend to have optimistic judgments of their job performance which was reflected in higher levels of self-rated task performance. Likewise, adults with higher work experience (i.e., long-tenured) tend to adhere to social and organizational conventions in line with cognitive decision rules and systematic distortions which may lead to misjudgment of their contextual performance. Objective: The study aimed to reinvestigate psychological mechanisms of the influence of construction workers' experience on hazard recognition performance, with signal detection theory (SDT) and electroencephalogram (EEG) readings. Background: Existing evidence regarding the effect of experience on hazard recognition performance in the construction industry remains inconsistent. Behavior-wise, identification of dominant hazard recognition factors (sensitivity or response bias, or both) would help determine appropriate training strategies to improve hazard recognition. In terms of neuro-responses, induced gamma-band activity was expected to reflect the cognitive functions mediating the psychological effects of experience. Method: Seventy-seven construction workers participated in a predesigned hazard recognition task, in which participants judged whether a hazard was present from a series of construction scenario pictures. We computed and compared the sensitivity and response bias of SDT and time-frequency representations of recorded EEG signals of the two experience-level groups. Results: Novice workers had higher hazard recognition rates. Behavior-wise, novices were more sensitive than more experienced workers. Compared with experienced workers, novices showed stronger gamma-band difference power (hazardous minus safe) in the left frontal and right posterior parietal areas during the hazard recognition process. Conclusion: Novices performed better at hazard recognition, indicating their sensitivity to the hazards without a clear difference in response bias. Based on the EEG data, novices' sensitivity may be attributed to more efficient working memory and attentional control. In order to anticipate the era of globalization which is marked by an increasingly competitive business world and no longer recognizes national boundaries, companies are required to optimize all available resources. The results showed that the independent variables simultaneously or together had a significant effect on the dependent variable. Likewise, the results of the T-test state that tcount ttable and the significance value of (0.05), which means that the independent variable partially has a significant effect on the dependent variable. Increasing the consumption of medicinal plants has many benefits, including creating employment and generating income for producers, especially in rural communities whose livelihoods are highly dependent on nature. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the factors affecting the consumption of medicinal plants and its status in the market in order to provide the most important factors for the development of this type of exploitation. This study examines the presentation and consumption of medicinal plants and the attitude and belief of people in it in the perfumeries of Torbat Heydarieh. Descriptive research method and collection tool was done using a questionnaire designed by the researcher. The statistical population of this study was the most important and significant perfumers of Torbat Heydariyeh and buyers of medicinal plants. The sample size using the Cochran's formula is equal to 383 which includes127 prominent perfumers of Torbat Heydarieh city and 256 buyers of medicinal plants were selected. After collecting the data by a questionnaire, the research data were analyzed using SPSS23 software. The results showed that there was a significant and positive relationship between the manner of keeping medicinal plants and the amount of consumption of people (r = 0.32) and the relationship between the supply of medicinal plants and the amount of consumption of people (r = 0.390) was obtained. Between people's attitudes and beliefs about the effectiveness of medicinal plants and Consumption of people (r = 0.582) and a significant and positive relationship was obtained between having a degree related to medicinal plants and the amount of consumption of medicinal plants by people (r = 0.376). Therefore, only by increasing the awareness of consumers about the benefits of using medicinal plants and also by changing the way of supplying medicinal plants from traditional to modern methods, it is possible to help the development of the market of medicinal plants. Business ethics can have high implications for the accounting profession, stakeholders who rely on financial reporting, and entities concerned about business reputation. Professional ethics are required of members by all major accounting organizations. Accounting students learn about business ethics in accounting through their accounting studies, yet unethical practices have persisted in recent decades, often by leaders and managers with accounting foundations. This study examined work experience and other factors that could affect attitudes toward business ethics of accounting students. A survey questionnaire was used to assess ethical attitudes using various statistical techniques to explore significant differences among accounting students who were grouped according to their length of work experience and other factors. This research identifies the soft (employability) skills that key stakeholders view as essential for young people with intellectual disability (ID) to gain and maintain open employment. The study subsequently examined the work experience opportunities for young people with ID to develop these soft skills during their school years. The present study investigated bidirectional associations between teachers' sense of inadequacy and self-efficacy and factors related to them across one academic year. Teachers (N = 52) rated their sense of inadequacy and self-efficacy in fall and spring, and reported the number of students in need of support in spring. The results of cross-lagged path models showed that teachers' sense of inadequacy in fall negatively predicted their subsequent self-efficacy, especially in the dimensions of student engagement and classroom management. In addition, teachers' work experience and number of students with need of support in terms of social and behavioral problems were related to teacher self-efficacy (TSE). Based on these findings, the number of students in need of support in the classroom is a critical factor that influences TSE; therefore, teachers may need support to manage students with needs in terms of social and behavioral problems to maintain their sense of high self-efficacy. Background: Collegial midwifery assistance during the active second stage of labor that involves a second midwife being present has been shown to reduce severe perineal trauma (SPT) by 30%. The aim of this study was to investigate primary midwives' experiences of collegial midwifery assistance with the purpose of preventing SPT during the active second stage of labor. Methods: This study uses an observational design with data from a multicenter randomized controlled trial (Oneplus). Data consist of clinical registration forms completed by the midwives after birth. Descriptive statistics as well as univariable and multivariable logistic regression were used to analyze the data. Results: The majority of the primary midwives felt confident (61%) and were positive (56%) toward the practice. Midwives with less than 2 years' work experience were more likely to completely agree they felt confident (aOR 9.18, 95% CI: 6.28–13.41) and experience the intervention as positive (aOR 4.04, 95% CI: 2.83–5.78) than those with over 20 years' work experience. Factors such as duration of time spent in the birthing room by the second midwife, opportunity for planning and if the second midwife provided support were further associated with the primary midwife's experience of the practice as being positive. Conclusions: Our findings indicate that having a second midwife present during the active second stage of labor was an accepted practice, with the majority of primary midwives feeling confident and positive toward the intervention. This article explores the use of HR analytics to analyze the pathways through which high-potential managers ascend to C-suite positions and how different developmental paths influence turnover among executives. The study analyzes the work experiences of 53 general managers spanning 57 years, revealing three distinct developmental paths to the C-suite. The study also identifies that a more complex developmental path tends to reinforce executives' competency in self-awareness while inhibiting their development of technical competency, ultimately resulting in reduced executive turnover. Introduction The turnover of experienced nurses with high skills and abilities can be very costly for the organization; Therefore, it is very important to identify the factors that can reduce turnover Intention in nurses. The present study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between psychological capital and the turnover Intention, considering the mediating role of preventive and promotive psychological ownership and the moderating role of work experience in the nurses of Tamin Ejtemaei Hospital in Bojnord. Material and Method The present study is applied in terms of purpose and in terms of data collection, it is descriptive-correlation research in the form of structural equation model. The research's statistical population is 110 nurses working in TAMIN EJTEMAIE Hospital in Bojnord in 1401, and using Morgan's formula, a sample of 86 people was selected from among them by simple random method. To measure the variables of the research, Luthans et al.'s psychological capital questionnaires (2007), Oi et al.'s (2009) psychological ownership, and Kim and Long's (2007) Turnover Intention were used. The reliability of the questionnaire was confirmed using Cronbach's alpha method and its validity was confirmed using convergent validity. Data analysis was done using the structural equation modeling method and SPSS 24 and SMARPLS 4 software. Results The results showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between psychological capital and turnover Intention (p<0.05), on the other hand, there is a positive and significant relationship between psychological capital and promotive psychological ownership (p<0.05) and There is a negative and significant relationship between psychological capital and preventive psychological ownership (p<0.05). Also, the structural equation model and Bootstrap analysis result that promotive and preventive psychological ownership mediates the relationship between psychological capital and nurses' Turnover Intention. Based on the findings of the research, at the 95% confidence level, the moderating effect of work experience in the relationship between preventive psychological ownership and the turnover Intention of nurses was not confirmed. Conclusion According to the results of this study, the attention of managers towards making decisions to increase the psychological capital of nurses by emphasizing on promotive and preventive psychological ownership can provide the basis for reducing the Turnover Intention of nurses. In Study 1, a working-class solidarity measure (WCSM) was developed through interviews, followed by factor-analysis of a vocational school sample in China (n = 509). In Study 2, we validated the factor structure of the WCSM and adopted structural equation modelling to show that prosocial behaviour positively predicted solidarity among vocational school students (n = 2534). Contrary to the understanding that the working-class is divisive and fragmentary, our work shows that working-class solidarity can be built and consolidated through layers of prosocial behaviours by students with work experience. This study focuses on Russian-Israeli women journalists who resettled in Israel during the mass wave of immigrations from the Former Soviet Union in the 1990s. More specifically, it examines their experience of intersecting exclusion due to gender, ethnicity, and immigrant status. Based on narrative interviews with 18 Russian-Israeli women journalists, the study conceptualizes how their complex subjectivities emerge in their journalistic work. The findings demonstrate that their work experience is constructed by their positioned identity as it relates to their generation of immigration – the first, second, and 1.5 generations. The conclusions suggest that each generation of women journalists experienced, adopted, and developed distinct mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion deriving from their social visibility. Background: Poland and other European countries have incorporated the physical assessment of patients into nursing practice. Appropriate practical skills and awareness of physical assessment play an important role in early diagnosis, appropriate management, and mitigation of adverse consequences resulting from the deterioration of the patient's health. Aim of the study: The study aimed to evaluate the undertaking of physical examinations (PE) in professional practice by nurses with varying years of service. Material and methods: The study included a group of 171 registered nurses from Poland. Using the author's non-standardized questionnaire, the study examined the professional experience and usefulness of PE in the nursing profession. Results: Most nurses (56.3%) perform PE every day, regardless of seniority. The main reason for not performing PE was lack of time due to other nursing activities (32.7%) and insufficient staffing (29.9%). Some nurses also explained that it was due to the reluctance of medical personnel (24.1%). The most commonly used techniques in PE were inspection (44.1%) and palpation (32.8%). Most nurses (54.5%), regardless of seniority, felt satisfied with their PE performance. In the opinion of the respondents, 68.3% of patients approached PE undertaken by nurses with trust and appreciation, regardless of their seniority. Conclusions: Professional experience did not significantly affect the perception and performance of PE by nurses in professional practice. In the opinion of the respondents, trust and appreciation was the reaction most often declared by patients concerning nurses undertaking PE, which had no statistically significant relationship with the seniority of the nurse. The paper is an attempt to investigate the impact of demographic variables on the level of the subjective well‐being (SWB) of students enrolled in premiere business school. SWB was measured through a three‐dimensional approach consisting of life satisfaction, positive affect, and negative affect using Life Scaleand Positive Affect & Negative Affect Scale. Data was collected from 352 students and using OLS regression method, significant differences regarding SWB were examined. Research findings show a significant difference in the exhibition of most of the demographic variables and SWB. Background: Communicating bad news is of great interest in the geriatric field, but few works have considered the physician's point of view in this regard. Objectives: The aim of this study was to explore possible differences related to physicians' gender and work experience in how a terminal diagnosis is disclosed to older patients. Methods: Study participants were 420 Italian physicians (277 M, 143 F) working in clinical medicine (58.2%), surgery (33.3%), or other medical departments (8.5%). They completed an anonymous multiple-choice questionnaire that investigated various issues associated with communicating bad news to terminally ill older patients. Results: Men had more work experience than women (55.6% vs. 44.8% had worked for ≥23 years) and were more likely to work in surgery departments, while more women worked in clinical medicine. Most physicians declared that terminally ill older patients, if mentally competent, should always (14.4%) or generally (64.3%) be directly and openly informed of their condition. With no difference in gender, length of work experience, or specialty area, 36.9% of physicians thought that this was a human right and 18% that it would improve the patient's quality of life. Where older patients were alone, male physicians were more likely than female (30.2% vs. 8.9%) to always communicate bad news directly to them. More than 70% of physicians, especially those with longer work experience, declared that they always or often took enough time to inform the patient. Female physicians and those working in clinical medicine were more likely to need psychological help when deciding to break bad news, but only a smaller proportion declared to have received it. One of the important roles of HE institutions is to train graduates who will smoothly enter the labour market. The literature review demonstrates that one effective method to facilitate this transition is to ensure students acquire professional experience. The aim was to establish the scale and characteristics of employers' demand for work experience expressed in job adverts. The data sample consisted of 17 397 adverts posted over a period of 18 months and addressed to geography, earth and environmental sciences specialists across six European countries. Quantitative analyses demonstrated that over one third of job postings required work experience. Text mining methods of content analysis revealed differences in the structure of high-importance words in adverts addressed to graduates with no, some or short work experience and those addressed to candidates with more extensive professional experience. A hierarchical cluster analysis helped us identify strong relationships between the word 'experience' and other words in specific subsets of adverts. The analysis led us to determine the characteristics of employers' demand for work experience. The results help outline the directions of education policy for HE institutions regarding market-oriented measures aimed at ensuring work integrated learning which can clearly improve graduates' chances on the labour market. In this paper, the author reflects on her own work in the agritourism field as a Latina woman in the Midwest. Connecting place to lived experience, the author describes how her gender, ethnicity, language, and education are positioned within the food industry and within her career trajectory. By examining her individual journey, the author reveals systems of oppression that continue to maintain colonial divisions of labor in ways often overlooked or ignored in the everyday. Her story is an example of the struggle many women of color face as they navigate upward mobility within White and/or male-dominated arenas. Utilizing logics based in intersectionality, feminism, raciolinguistic, and racial capitalism, this story bears witness to the ways identities continue to be perceived, performed, accepted, and rejected against dominant narratives in small-town America. BACKGROUND: Work experience programs are a common element of work-based learning for youth with disabilities under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, but few studies have focused on the effectiveness of these programs for youth who are blind or have low vision (B/LV). OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of a vocational rehabilitation (VR) agency-sponsored summer work experience program on employment outcomes for transition-age youth with B/LV. METHODS: In this retrospective cohort study, we used propensity score matching to analyze de-identified case records obtained from a VR agency. Participants were 14 to 24 years old at VR application and had a primary or secondary disability of blindness, visual impairment, or deaf-blindness. The matched sample (N = 302) included 151 youth who participated in the program and 151 youth who did not participate. RESULTS: Summer work experience participants were more likely to obtain competitive employment at VR case closure than non-participants. Work hours and hourly earnings did not differ significantly between the two groups. CONCLUSIONS: These findings support the association between paid community-based work experiences and future employment for B/LV youth who receive VR services. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

(1) Background: Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health disorder characterized by a range of syndromal responses to extreme stressors. The present study aimed to explore any differences in PTSD between registered nurses and nursing students, according to sex and nursing experience, during the COVID-19 pandemic. (2): Methods: An observational descriptive study was conducted among Italian nurses and nursing students during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. An online questionnaire was distributed in an anonymous form through the Google function of Google Modules to some social pages and nursing groups. (3) Results: In total, 576 participants were enrolled in this study. Of these, 291 (50.50%) were registered nurses and 285 (49.50%) were nursing students. By considering the Impact of Event Scale—Revised values in nurses and in nursing students according to sex, a significant difference was reported in the avoidance sub-dimension (p = 0.024), as female nurses recorded higher levels than nursing students. No further significant differences were suggested by considering both sex and nursing experience, respectively. This qualitative study explored the experiences of medical science students of part-time hospital work. Twenty-four participants from Guilan University of Medical Sciences in Rasht, Iran were recruited purposively from the fields of nursing (10 students), surgery (4 students), laboratory sciences (4 students), radiology (3 students), and anesthesiology (3 students). Data were collected through semi-structured face-to-face interviews and were analyzed through conventional content analysis. Data analysis identified three main themes and eight sub-themes: perceived personal benefits (effective learning, improved self-confidence, financial gain), organizational outcomes (operational benefits, unprofessional care delivery), unpleasant clinical environment (job burnout, financial strains, academic discouragement). The data indicate that part-time hospital work, although fostering learning and providing income, also poses challenges such as burnout for the student. Background: The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the working environment in a substantial way. The people expectations are important in term of planning. Objectives: The objective of this study is to explore the expectations and experiences of the Saudi population during and after the COVID 19 pandemic. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was used in this study, in which 381 residents filled out a structured online questionnaire. The collected data were coded and analyzed using SPSS version 22. The study obtained ethical approval, and all participants provided informed consent. Results: Half the population stated that they were dependent on digital media, and they spent more hours working from home [53.5%, 50%]. Two-thirds of the population stated that they missed social interaction. Eighty percent of respondents foreseen that virtual meetings, working from home, and computerization acceleration will become the norm even after the epidemic. Nearly fifty percent agreed that wearing a mask would become a usual practice. Inferential statistics showed that gender, occupation, and nationality all had statistically significant relationships with four domains of work experiences [P-value of less than 0.05], except for the relationship of nationality with the time spent at work. The expectation that the use of face masks would become normal and a fashion was not significantly associated with nationality, gender, or occupation with a P-value of [0.09, 0.28, and 0.93, respectively]. As in many other countries, individuals with disabilities in the Netherlands have difficulties in establishing sustainable careers. In the Netherlands, Royal Philips offers a work-experience program with the possibility to follow vocational education. Based on national register data, a control group was constructed that includes individuals with a disability with a similar labour market history as participants of the company-based program before entry but who were involved in public rehabilitation. This study compared the labour market outcomes up to ten years later (i.e., the level of employment and employment on a competitive salary) of individuals with a disability that participated in the program (N = 552) with those of a matched control group engaged in public rehabilitation. The long-term impact of participation in the programme on the level of employment appears to be firmer for individuals with a physical disability (N = 283) than for those with a cognitive disability (N = 269). Contrariwise, a more substantial effect was found on employment on a competitive salary for individuals with a cognitive disability than for those with a physical disability. Background: Transitioning to advanced practice, novice nurse practitioners need to take on new roles, learn new practice areas, and develop new skills. This process requires breaking old practices and work habits and facing new challenges. Purpose: To explore the nature of nurse practitioners' work experiences during the first year of transition from registered nurse to nurse practitioner. Methods: This qualitative study was based on Husserl's phenomenological methodology. A purposive sample of 16 first-year nurse practitioners was recruited. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed by thematic content analysis. The approaches of Lincoln & Guba were applied to improve the validity of the study. Results: Results showed that the first-year experience of transitioning from registered nurse to nurse practitioner fell into two overarching themes: challenge and adjustment. The challenge consists of five subthemes: "facing the expectation-reality gap," "managing others' expectations," "striving to acquire professional skills," "handling situational variability," and "bearing emotional burdens" subthemes. The adjustment includes five subthemes: "finding resources," "gaining experiences," "building relationships," "relieving stress," and "overcoming obstacles." Implications for practice: Novice nurse practitioners face many challenges as they adjust to a new role during their first year on the job. New nurse practitioners develop coping strategies to help themselves adjust to their work. They also gradually gain new resources and experiences to help them stay positive in stressful situations and restore work–life balance. The challenges of transitioning from a registered nurse to a nurse practitioner cannot be overlooked. Novice nurse practitioners need appropriate support measures to adapt to advanced practice roles. The article provides the results of a research project on the influence that education and work experience have had on intergenerational social mobility in Spain, following the traditional analyses of mobility based on the OED (origin, education, and destination) triangle. The explanatory mechanisms of social fluidity (Breen, 2010) have been analysed by applying a new methodological approach that took into account cohort, period, and age (Vallet, 2020). The results are remarkable and show that, in addition to the influence of educational expansion and the reduced direct effect of class origins to explain the increase in social fluidity in Spain, it is important to consider the additional effect of work history, and therefore, of intragenerational dynamics. Interprofessional teamwork often suffers from the existence of negative stereotypes. To combat their prevalence, interprofessional education (IPE) activities are being implemented worldwide. The aim of this study is to inform IPE developers of the prevalence and content of interprofessional stereotypes in the workplace in Germany and similarly structured healthcare systems. We surveyed health professionals with several years of work experience as nurse, midwife, or therapist concerning their attitudes toward their own professions and those of doctors using an established trait rating measure and a qualitative approach. Stereotypes of respondents (N = 129) were mostly related to (1) academic, medical competence (being perceived as lower than that of doctors) and (2) the traditional role relationship (strict hierarchy, dependence on doctors) that guides a lot of behavior, such as the little participation of nurses, midwives and therapists. Despite profound structural differences in the education and healthcare systems, our analyses further revealed similar topics for further IPE activities as in international research, such as the general demand to convey knowledge about the roles, skills and responsibilities of the other professions. The demand to improve the teamwork skills of all health professionals and empower them to be full and equal members of the healthcare team was also evident. Thus, a more reflective approach to stereotypes and their impact on interprofessional teamwork is indicated, particularly in workplace-based interprofessional learning activities. More generally, to counteract stereotypes a more widespread adoption of IPE in pre and post licensure health professions education and continuing professional development in Germany is needed. This study aims to analyze work experience, competence through HR development on employee performance at BPSDM. The sample of respondents in this study were 73 employees and the sample selection used was through a questionnaire with simple random sampling. Using quantitative methods with data analysis techniques using Structure Equation Models (SEM) using Partial Least Square (PLS). This study shows that work experience has a value of 0.283 in the original sample, which means it has a positive influence on employee performance. Competence with a value of 0.274 which means that competence has a positive influence on employee performance, HR development gets an original sample value of 0.385 which means that HR development has a positive effect on performance. This research examined workers’ motivation in construction projects with structural equation modeling (SEM) for optimal performance. It also determined the influence of independent variables, such as workers’ pay, workers’ performance, communication, employer, local cultural, trust, work experience, and job satisfaction, on the dependent variable, including the work motivation of project workers. The sample consists of 31, 9, 23, 5, and 32 respondents in West Java, Central Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, and Jakarta, respectively. The collected data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling. The results showed that the independent variable, namely workers’ pay, workers’ performance, communication, employer, local culture, work experience, and job satisfaction, had a positive effect on work motivation. Introduction: The purpose of this study was to describe the job-seeking and work experiences of transition-age youths with visual impairments. Methods: We analyzed follow-up data from a quasi-experimental study of a job-search intervention conducted from 2016 to 2019. Participants were 88 youths with visual impairments from three states; approximately half received the job-search intervention, and the other half served as a comparison group. Measures included job-search activities and outcomes, job-seeking barriers, volunteer and work experiences, and parental support for job-seeking. Results: Commonly reported job-search activities were preparing or revising resumes, talking to people about jobs, submitting applications, and submitting resumes, but most participants performed these activities infrequently. Many job-seekers encountered barriers during their job search, and few searches resulted in paid employment. Participants generally reported moderate levels of preparation to handle job-seeking barriers and parental support for job-seeking. Intervention and comparison participants had similar results on most measures, with few exceptions. Discussion: When youths actively search for a job but do not find one, their motivation to continue job-seeking may be reduced, particularly if their preparedness to overcome job-seeking barriers is low. Although many participants had some engagement in volunteer or work activities, short-term work experiences were the most common—and perhaps most misunderstood—work activity. Implications for practitioners: Youths with visual impairments may benefit from feedback on their job-seeking approach, application materials, and interview skills so they can make changes and determine how to focus or refocus their efforts. In addition to offering feedback, service providers can provide ongoing support to youth job-seekers and encourage them to persist in their job search.
