The decrease of quality of life and the frequent occurrence of risk behaviors among adolescents are one of the most urgent problems in our society, which identifies different health levels of adolescents in multiple dimensions such as physiological, psychological, emotional, and social. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study is to examine relationships between quality of life (QOL), socioeconomic status (SES), physical activity (PA), health-related risk behavior (HRB) among high school pupils and to explore how components of quality-of-life influence SES, PA and HRB in term of a socio-ecological model (SEM) METHODS: participants aged 16-18 years, male 16.2 ± 1.03, female 16.3 ± 1.56, were recruited from 30 high schools to complete QOL, risk behavior, physical activity times of the last 7 days. Canonical correlation analysis (CCA) explored modes of covariation between socioeconomic status, active lifestyle, and risk behavior variables. Logistic regression estimated relationships between PA, SES and HRB.RESULTS: the result showed that the adolescents with high screen time, low PA, smoking, and low SES showed a lower QOL score. Smokers under 10 years revealed the lowest QOL, and PA five days per week have the highest QOL. Logic regression demonstrated that QQL were associated with physical activity, the odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for 1~2 times per week, 3~4 times per week and ≥5 times per week were 1.13 (0.66, 1.95), 0.51 (0.30, 0.87) and 0.54 (0.39, 0.76) respectively. QQL were associate with HRB, ORs and CIs for problematic screen time drinking of alcohol, smoking, bully behaviors, sedentary behavior are 1.32 (1.17,1.49), 1.35(1.22,1.45), 2.77(1.12,6.89), 2.71(0.93,0.68), 0.710(0.645,0.780), respectively. QQL were associate SES, ORs and CIs for parent education, income, Occupation are 1.00(0.77,1.29), 0.84(0.76,0.92), 1.05(0.93,1.19), respectively. Alcohol use, smoking and sedentary behavior have significant effect on adolescent Quality of Life CONCLUSIONS: QOL was negatively associated with low SES, unphysical activity, smoking, screen time and sedentary behavior. More than PA five or more days for boys and three or four days per week for girls could decrease negative effects of risk behaviors and improve QOL. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
