Six functional metal-organic frameworks build by 4,4'-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)methylenebis (benzonic acid) (H 2 tmlb), namely: [Zn 4 (tmlb) 4 (H 2 O)] n (1), [Ni 4 (tmlb) 4 (H 2 O)] n (2), [Cu(tmlb)] n (3), [Co(tmlb)] n (4), [Pb(tmlb)(H 2 O)] n (5), {[Zn(tmlb)(H 2 tmlb)]H 2 O} n (6), have been successfully synthesized. The X-ray diffraction analysis show that the complexes 1 and 2 exhibited a two interpenetrating (3, 6, 6)-connected framework with a Schläfli symbol of (4·62) 2 (42·610·83) topology. The complexes 3 and 4 show a two interpenetrating (3, 6)-connected net with (611·84) (63) 2 topology. The complex 5 shows a (3, 8)-connected network with a point symbol of (4·62) 2 (4 2 ·615·78·8·92) topology. The complex 6 exists a 2-fold interpenetrating topology framework and the point symbol is (6·6·6). Moreover, the photocatalytic studies show that complexes 1 – 5 have highly photocatalytic ability to degrade methylene blue (MB). In addition, the complex 6 can efficiently adsorb Congo red through H-bonds and the adsorption kinetic have been discussed. Abstract Six functional metal-organic frameworks constructed from semi-flexible 4,4′-bis(imidazolyl)diphenyl ether (bidpe), namely: [Zn(bidpe)(mpa)] n (1), [Cu(bidpe)(mpa)(H 2 O)] n (2), [Cd(bidpe)(mpa)] n (3), [Zn 1.5 (bidpe) 2 (smpa)(H 2 O)] n (4), [Cu 1.5 (bidpe) 2 (smpa)(H 2 O)] n (5), [Cd(bidpe)(hmpa)] n (6) (H 2 mpa = m-Phthalic acid, H 2 smpa = 5-sulfonatobenzene-1,3-dicarboxylate, H 2 hmpa = 5-Hydroxyisophthalic acid), have been synthesized under solvothermal conditions. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that complexes 1 – 4 and 6 show 2D→3D supramolecular structure with a Schläfli symbol of (44·62), (4·65), (44·62), (42·6) and (63) topology, respectively. Complex 5 possesses an unprecedented (3, 4, 6)-connected 3D framework with a Schläfli symbol of (4·64·8) 2 (42·64·89)(62·8) 2. Meanwhile, complexes 1 , 3 , 4 and 6 have excellent fluorescence properties and can be used as potential luminescent sensors for sensing Cr(VI) anions, Fe(III) ions and nitrobenzene (NB) with high selectivity and sensitivity. The photocatalytic studies indicate that 1 has good photocatalytic capability in degradation of methylene blue (MB), 1 and 6 have good photocatalytic capability in degradation of methyl violet (MV). Three novel Co(II) coordination polymers, namely {[Co(tib) 2 ]·2HNO 3 ·2H 2 O} n ( 1 ) , {[Co(tib)(4,4′-dpt)(H 2 O) 2 ]·5H 2 O} n ( 2 ) and {[Co 2 (tib) 2 (1,3-dpb) 2 ]·H 2 O} n ( 3 ) (tib = 1,3,5-tris(1-imidazolyl)-benzene, 4,4′-dpt = p-terphenyl-4,4′-dicarboxylic and 1,3-dpb = 1,3-di(4′-carboxyl-phenyl)benzene) were synthesized under solvo/hydrothermal conditions. These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), thermogravimetric (TG) analysis and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 shows a rare kgd 2D-network compared with the normal (3,6)-connected networks ( anh , ant , apo , brk , pyr , rtl ), which is further assembled into a 3D architecture through H-bonds and C–H⋯O bonds. Complex 2 exhibits a hcb 2D-network, which is further assembled into a 3D supramolecular framework through hydrogen bonding interactions, while complex 3 shows an unprecedented 3-nodal (3,4,6)-connected 3D framework with the Schläfli symbol (6 2 ·7) 2 (6 4 ·7 5 ·8 4 ·9·10)(6 4 ·8 2 ). Interestingly, the whole structure of the tib-metallic complex 3 also shows an unprecedented 3D framework with (6 2 ·8 2 ·10 2 )(6 2 ·8) 2 topology, which is influenced by the “V”-shaped 1,3-dpb ligands in 3 . Two supramolecular coordination polymers, [Cu(PDA)(4,4′-bibp)] ( 1) and [Zn(PDA)(4,4′-bibp)] ( 2) (PDA = 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid and 4,4′-bibp = 4,4′-bis(imidazolyl)biphenyl), have been obtained under hydrothermal conditions. The two polymers were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The X-ray single crystal analysis revealed that two complexes exhibit different supramolecular architectures. The photocatalytic studies indicate complex 1 is a good candidate for the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue, rhodamine B and methylene violet. The synthesis and characterization of two new porphyrin-based porous organic polymers (POPs) via Sonogashira cross-coupling reaction and leverage the two obtained POPs is reported for the fabrication of electrochemical aptasensors to detect kanamycin at an ultratrace level. The resultant electrochemical aptasensor demonstrates a high linear relationship with the logarithmic value of kanamycin concentration in the range 5 × 10−5–5 μg/L with the limit of detection of 17.6 pg/L or 36.3 fM. During the analysis of real samples from milk and river, a relative standard deviation of less than 4.39%, and good recovery values in the range 97.0–105% were obtained. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have drawn significant attention in the fabrication of thin film nanocomposite (TFN) membranes. In particular, two-dimensional MOFs (2D-MOFs) are advantageous in improving compatibility and molecular sieving performance depending on the sub-atomic surface thickness, high exposure of surface functional groups and controllable pore structure properties. In this study, a robust high performance TFN membrane for reverse osmosis (RO) desalination was fabricated using an interfacial polymerization strategy on the surface of polysulfone (PSF) substrate with embedded ultrasonically exfoliated nickel-based 2D-MOF nanosheet in the selective layer. The TFN membrane modified by adding 0.015 wt% 2D-MOF nanosheet to the aqueous phase exhibits a 2.5 times higher water permeability with a well-maintained salt rejection (water permeance up to 50.0 L m−2 h−1·MPa−1, NaCl rejection of 99.2%) compared to pristine thin film composite (TFC) membrane (water permeance 20.6 L m−2 h−1·MPa−1, NaCl rejection 99.3%). Meanwhile, the modified TFN membrane features outstanding anti-fouling properties against 500 ppm humic acid with a high water permeance recovery ratio of 96.9%. In addition, the diffusions of water molecules both in pristine TFC membrane and modified TFN membrane were investigated by the molecular dynamics (MD) simulation, showing good agreement with the experimental results. The simulation results reveal that the incorporation of 2D-MOF nanosheets can reduce transfer resistance and increase water diffusion because of the extra pores of 2D-MOF and H bonds between free water molecules and the coordination water of 2D-MOF. This study presents a new strategy to fabricate high-performance RO membranes, and also provides further insights into the great potential of 2D-MOFs in the water-treatment field. During mouse oocyte meiotic maturation, actin filaments play multiple roles in meiosis such as spindle migration and cytokinesis. FASCIN is shown to be an actin‐binding and bundling protein, making actin filaments tightly packed and parallel‐aligned, and FASCIN is involved in several cellular processes like adhesion and migration. FASCIN is also a potential prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for the treatment of metastatic disease. However, little is known about the functions of FASCIN in oocyte meiosis. In the present study, we knocked down the expression of FASCIN, and our results showed that FASCIN was essential for oocyte maturation. FASCIN was all expressed in the different stages of oocyte meiosis, and it mainly localized at the cortex of oocytes from the GV stage to the MII stage and showed a similar localization pattern with actin and DAAM1. Depletion of FASCIN affected the extrusion of the first polar body, and we also observed that some oocytes extruded from the large polar bodies. This might have resulted from the defects of actin assembly, which further affected the meiotic spindle positioning. In addition, we showed that inhibition of PKC activity decreased FASCIN expression, indicating that FASCIN might be regulated by PKC. Taken together, our results provided evidence for the important role of FASCIN on actin filaments for spindle migration and polar body extrusion in mouse oocyte meiosis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this work, probe EHMC with AIE characteristics in solid state and aqueous ethanol solution was developed. A three-fold interpenetrated coordination polymer [Cd 2 (L)(bibp) 3 ] n ( 1 ) (H 4 L = 5,5′-(1,4-phenylenebis(methoxy))diisophthalic acid, bibp = 4,4'-bis(imidazolyl)biphenyl) has been rationally constructed, successfully solvothermally synthesized and fully characterized. In this work, a colormetric fluorescent probe named NMH, which exhibited aggregation-induced emission (AIE) characteristic in water/EtOH binary solvent was developed based on 2-hydrazinobenzothiazole and 6-methoxy-2-acetonaphthone for sensing hypochlorous acid (HClO) with high selectivity and sensitivity (detection limit: 1.7 nM). Also, NMH had a strong anti-interference effect and a fluorescence color change in the solution which can be seen by the"naked eye". Moreover, NMH could be applied to detect ClO− in tap water and test paper. Complex 1 shows a rare 1D meso -helical ladder chain, and the adjacent 1D irregular ladder chain forms a 3D supramolecular framework through the O H ⋯ O and C H ⋯ π interactions. Complex 2 exhibits an unprecedented 2-nodal (2,4)-connected 2D layer structure with the Schläfli point symbol (8 4 · 12 2 )(8 2 ), which are further assembled into a 3D supramolecular structure also by O H ⋯ O interactions. Furthermore, the photocatalytic properties of complexes 1 and 2 have been investigated. Interestingly, complex 2 not only shows an remarkable photocatalytic activity on RhB/MB degradation, but also has a better adsorption activity based on the bigger channel under magnetically stirred in the dark for 30 min. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that complex 1 possesses a uninodal 4-connected 3D (three-dimensional) cds topology framework with the Schläfli symbol (65·8). In order to identify and detect NB effectively, a micro-porous Zn-based metal-organic framework (Zn-MOF) material was prepared. Zn-MOF material named [Zn(L)] n was successfully synthesized by solvothermal method, using 1,3,5-tris (3-carboxy-triazole-methylene)-2,4,6-tritoluene (H 3 L) as organic ligand. Its stucture was characterized by X-ray single-crystal diffraction, elemental analysis, IR spectra and thermogravimetric (TG) analysis. X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis exhibits that Zn-MOF belongs to the orthorhombic crystal system, space group P bcn. The central Zn(II) ion exhibits a octahedron {ZnN 3 O 3 } coordination geometry. The bifunctional probe NBOS showed absorbance-ratiometic sensing for Ag+ over a pH range from 6 to 7.5 and fluorescence "turn on" signal response towards Zn2+ in the pH range of 6–10 in EtOH/H 2 O (9/1, V/V, pH = 7.4) mixture. • The probe NBOS characterized by X-ray Crystallography showed sensing for Ag+ and Zn2+ through two different optical modes. • The sensing mechanism of NBOS with Ag+ and Zn2+ were investigated by FT-IR, HNMR, job'plot, ESI-MS. • The coordination mode of NBOS /Zn2+ was further confirmed by DFT calculation. • Probe NBOS could be used to detect Zn2+ in walnut and living cells. • NBOS was designed to construct an NOT and OR logic gate controlled by Ag+ and Zn2+. In this work, naphthalene with good biocompatibility was selected, and the probe NBOS was synthesized with 2-Amino-phenol and 2-Amino-benzenethiol.
