While numerous non‐surgical facial rejuvenation techniques are available, there is a need for a comprehensive review of clinic‐based procedures targeting non‐facial body parts.This review aims to describe and evaluate clinic‐based techniques for rejuvenating the neck, chest, and hands, focusing on various types of fillers and other non‐invasive procedures.In this first part of this review, we conducted an extensive literature review on PubMed, reporting the effectiveness of different fillers, detailing their preparation, required volume per area, injection methods, durability, and any associated side effects. We also discuss the use of mesotherapy, microneedling, chemical peeling, and Profhilo in these specific body areas.The review synthesizes the latest data on the effectiveness and safety of these procedures, highlighting the advancements in filler technology and the growing popularity of non‐invasive techniques for body rejuvenation. The widespread availability of banana peels makes them an excellent resource for bio-fillers in developing environmentally conscious and biodegradable composites, serving as substitutes for plastic and synthetic waste. This study focuses on using banana peel waste as a bio-filler to produce lighter and cheaper materials. The extracted banana peels were subjected to alkali treatment to improve interfacial interaction, and their crystalline performance, functional categories, and morphological studies were examined using XRD, FTIR, and SEM techniques. Composite samples were fabricated with varying bio-filler ratios (0.0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5, and 10%) to examine their thermo-mechanical and tribological attributes. The inclusion of banana peel in the epoxy matrix at up to 5% significantly enhanced mechanical performance, while 7.5% composites demonstrated higher thermal endurance with a degradation temperature of 395 °C and reduced water retention. Frictional wear of the specimens was assessed by varying sliding speeds under different loads, with the highest coefficient of friction and temperature observed under a 30 N force for BPC-10.0 specimens. This research innovatively uses banana peel powder (approx. 65 µm) to create polymeric composites, addressing the need for sustainable materials with higher specific modulus and strength compared to conventional substances. The study uniquely evaluates the physical, mechanical, structural, and tribological efficiency of raw and processed banana peel particles, with chemical modifications improving crystallinity and interfacial bonding. Background Chloasma is a common skin hyperpigmentation condition, with treatment options ranging from topical agents to advanced interventions such as chemical peels and laser therapy. Salicylic acid, including its supramolecular form (SSA), has shown promise in managing chloasma. However, to date, no multicentre randomized controlled trial of SSA for chloasma is available. Objectives The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of 30% SSA combined with 10% niacinamide in treating -chloasma. Methods This multicentre (n = 15), randomized, double-blind, parallel placebo-controlled trial (Clinical trial registration number: ChiCTR2200065346) enrolled and randomized 300 participants (1 : 1) to either 30% SSA treatment or placebo, with 150 allocated to treatment and 150 to placebo in the full analysis set, and 144 to treatment and 147 to placebo in the per-protocol set. A Visia® Skin Analysis System was used at each visit to assess the degree of improvement in chloasma lesions. The primary endpoint was the effective rate after 16 weeks, assessed using the modified Melasma Area and Severity Index (mMASI) score [(pretreatment score − post-treatment score)/pretreatment score × 100%]. Results The total mMASI score, overall score on the Griffiths 10-point scale, and Griffiths 10 score for the left and the right sides of the face were significantly lower in the 30% SSA group than in the placebo group (all P < 0.001). One study of drug-related adverse events (AEs) and one study of drug-unrelated AEs were reported in the 30% SSA group. No AE was reported in the placebo group. Background: The hands are one of the areas where skin aging is most noticeable, alongside the face, but limited studies used dermoscopic evaluation on hand aging. The Dermoscopy Photoaging Scale (DPAS) is frequently used to assess face aging but is never used for hand aging. Treating skin aging using chemical peeling is a commonly used method to rejuvenate the skin on the hands, as it is relatively affordable. Using multiple chemical peels may yield more significant results. Aims: To determine the effectiveness of a chemical peeling combination in retarding hand aging and to assess the utility of DPAS in this process. Methods: This study involved 69 Fitzpatrick skin types III–IV volunteers aged 20–69. One hand of each participant was treated with 20% glycolic acid (GA), while the other received a combination of peels consisting of 20% GA and 15% trichloroacetic acid (TCA). The hands were clinically examined before and after the treatments, and dermoscopic examinations were performed using a modified DPAS. Results: Four treatments improved clinical and dermoscopic characteristics in both hands. The combined peeling considerably improved pigmentation intensity on the dorsal hand compared to the GA peel (p < 0.001). Post‐chemical peeling patient satisfaction increased significantly. Conclusions: The modified DPAS is a valuable instrument to assess the signs of hand aging. One of the most severe peel physiological disorders of orange fruits is Stem End Rind Breakdown (SERB), a severe postharvest physiological disorder. We expected foliar Ca and K application to reduce orange SERB by modifying several peel biochemical and physical characteristics. Therefore, one experiment (2018–2020) was designed in complete randomized blocks in four treatments with three replicates. Experimental treatments included foliar spray of (1) K nitrate; (2) Ca nitrate; (3) Ca, and K nitrate separately, with a time interval (Ca + K; combination of treatments 1 and 2); (4) control. The effects of treatments were evaluated on several parameters underlying fruit peel quality at harvest and intensity of SERB damage after 12 wk of fruit storage at 5 ◦C and 85% RH. The results showed that K-treated fruits had higher TSS and TSS/TA than other fruits. Also, the Ca treatments (including Ca and Ca + K treatments) increased Ca content in fruit peels and significantly decreased SERB damage and weight loss by 70% and 30%, respectively. In addition, Thomson orange peel obtained from Ca-treated trees (including Ca and Ca + K treatments) displayed elevated levels of pectin than other fruits. In contrast, the peels of fruits picked from trees sprayed with Ca, especially those treated with Ca + K, exhibited lower levels of total phenolic, antioxidant, and electrolyte leakage than other fruits. This study suggests that foliar application of Ca(NO3)2 and KNO3 during the fruit growth cycle while improving the internal quality of the fruit is an effective agronomical strategy that prolongs Thomson orange shelf life. Highlights Functionalized thin films with excellent flexibility and conductivity can meet the current requirements for electromagnetic(EM) shielding materials. In this paper, 2D transitions metal carbide and nitride nanomaterials Ti3C2Tx MXene were prepared by chemical exfoliation, and PVDF/MWCNTs/3 wt%/RGO@Fe3O4@ AgNWs‐10 based on PVDF/MWCNTs‐3 wt%/RGO@Fe3O4@AgNWs‐10, The samples were prepared through a simple solution mixing process followed by vacuum‐assisted filtration (VAF), and PVDF/MWCNTs/MXene/RGO@Fe3O4@AgNWs three‐layer PVDF‐based composite films, which were analyzed for electrical conductivity and EM shielding properties, which increased and then decreased with the rise in the Ti3C2Tx MXene content, in which the highest electrical conductivity of the three‐layer composite films of M3/MX‐10/R@F@Ag was obtained when the Ti3C2Tx MXene addition amount reached 10 mL as 3.9 × 103 S/m, the EMI SET is 54.9 dB, the EMI SEA is 44.8 dB, the absorption loss is 81.6%, and the SSEt of the M3/MX‐10/R@F@Ag three‐layer composite film is the highest 1672.5 dB/(cm−2·g). And the SEA/SER ratios of the M3/MX‐X/R@F@Ag three‐layer composite films are all greater than 1. The result shows that the EM attenuation mechanism of the M3/MX‐X/R@F@Ag three‐layer composite films is primarily driven by absorption loss and that the incorporation of Ti3C2Tx Mxene improves the EM shielding performance of the composite films. Melasma is a chronic, relapsing hyperpigmentation disorder that primarily affects photoexposed areas, occurring most frequently in adult women with darker skin phototypes. The primary factors contributing to its development include sun exposure, sex hormones (e.g., pregnancy), and genetic predisposition. Melasma is highly prevalent in Latin America, where many countries lie in intertropical zones and exhibit significant ethnic diversity because of centuries of intermixing among Native Americans, Europeans, and Sub‐Saharan Africans. Nine Latin American experts formulated a DELPHI‐based consensus to develop a valuable approach for treating melasma in this diverse population. After establishing an accurate diagnosis, assessing the impact on quality of life, and determining disease severity, the consensus recommends mitigating known triggers and promoting rigorous photoprotection. Active therapy should be tailored based on individual characteristics (e.g., pregnancy status, previous treatments, skin sensitivity). Treatment options include topical depigmenting agents, systemic therapies, and procedural interventions such as laser therapy, microneedling, and chemical peels. Periodic reassessment of the treatment is essential, with strategies adjusted if targeted outcomes are not achieved. ABSTRACT Background Methods Results Conclusions Melasma is a chronic condition characterized by dark patches on the facial skin. It has a known female gender dominancy, and women usually think of melasma as being a serious cosmetic problem. Treatment of melasma can be seriously challenging, thus, dermatologists may employ different approaches for melasma. This study aimed to investigate how dermatologists diagnose and treat patients with melasma and to present the general characteristics of patients with melasma.A survey was conducted using Google Forms targeting dermatologists in Turkiye. A total of 199 dermatologists (142 females/57 males) participated in the study.Most of the participants (52.3%) were residents. Majority gender of the patients was female and most common age range of patients with melasma was 30–40 years. Mixed melasma was the most common type (57.4%). Malar region was the most frequent location (58.6%). Wood's lamp examination was used by 25.6% of the participants. Topical treatment was the first‐line choice for melasma therapy (95%), with Kligman's formula being the most used topical agent (69.8%). Oral therapy was not used by 70.8% of the participants. Tranexamic acid was the first choice for oral treatment (23.4%). Only 24.9% of the dermatologists used laser/light therapy, and Q‐switched Nd‐YAG laser was the most preferred device (58%). The most common recurrence rate was 41%–60% (45.9%).The findings of the current study investigating the melasma management in Turkiye revealed a female predominance and peak prevalence in the 30–40 years age group. Kligman's formula is the preferred topical treatment, whereas oral tranexamic acid remains underutilized. Recurrence rates are high, highlighting the need for preventative strategies. Photocatalytic disinfection is an eco-friendly strategy for countering bacterial pollution in aquatic environments. Numerous strategies have been devised to facilitate the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) within photocatalysts, ultimately leading to the eradication of bacteria. However, the significance of the physical morphology of photocatalysts in the context of sterilization is frequently obscured, and the progress in the development of physical-chemical synergistic sterilization photocatalysts has been relatively limited. Herein, graphitic carbon nitride (g-C 3 N 4) is chemically protonated to expose more sharp edges. PL fluorescence and EIS results indicate that the protonation can accelerate photogenerated carrier separation and enhance ROS production. Meanwhile, the sharp edges on the protonated g-C 3 N 4 facilitate the physical disruption of cell walls for further promoting oxidative damage. Protonated C 3 N 4 demonstrated superior bactericidal performance than that of pristine g-C 3 N 4 , effectively eliminating Escherichia coli within 40 minutes under irradiation. This work highlights the significance of incorporating physical and chemical synergies in photocatalyst design to enhance the disinfection efficiency of photocatalysis. It is established that 2D magnetic materials are the ideal platform for building up modern-day electronic and spintronic devices. The popular ways to achieve 2D magnetic materials are mechanical exfoliation and chemical vapor deposition. However, the direct chemical synthesis route of such magnetic 2D materials on a large scale is relatively unexplored. This article reports an easy and cost-effective facile chemical synthesis with a proper capping agent and magnetic study of free-standing 2D Cr2S3 nanosheets and Cr2S3 nanoparticles within the temperature range of 2–300 K under the magnetic field of up to 5 T. Although few magnetic results on 2D Cr2S3 are available in the literature, there is enough scope to work for an in-depth understanding of the magnetic aspects of this 2D material. Here, ferrimagnetic ordering with a sufficiently high coercivity of up to 0.139 T at 2 K along with a tendency to the saturation in magnetization down to a certain temperature limit is observed. Contrary to the strong antiferromagnetic coupling with a Néel temperature, as observed by previous researchers, is also observed for this chemically synthesized 2D Cr2S3 nanosheets. A transition temperature of 117 K is observed for the Cr2S3 nanosheets, whereas for Cr2S3 nanoparticles, a transition temperature of 101.7 K is observed with negligible coercivity. This facile synthesis technique may be applied to achieve other non-van der Waals type 2D magnetic materials. Hyperpigmentation is a skin disorder characterized by excessive production of melanin in the skin and includes dyschromias such as post-inflammatory hyperchromias, lentigens, melasma and chloasma. Topical products containing depigmenting agents offer a less aggressive treatment option for hyperpigmentation compared to methods like chemical peels and laser sessions. However, some of these agents can cause side effects such as redness and skin irritation. Encapsulating these actives in nanosystems shows promise in mitigating these effects and improving product safety and efficacy. In addition, nanocarriers have the ability to penetrate the skin, potentially allowing for targeted delivery of actives to the affected areas. The most commonly investigated nanosystems are nanoemulsions, vesicular nanosystems and nanoparticles, in which different materials can be used to generate different compositions in order to improve the properties of these nanocarriers. Nanocarriers have already been widely explored, but it is necessary to understand the evolution of these technologies when applied to the treatment of skin hyperchromias. Therefore, this literature review aims to present the state of the art over the last 15 years on the use of nanosystems as a potential strategy for encapsulating depigmenting actives for potential application in cosmetic products for skin hyperchromia. By providing a comprehensive overview of the latest research findings and technological advances, this article can contribute to improving the care and quality of life of people affected by this skin condition. Peeling is an essential unit operation before further processing of cassava. This study presents functional and proximate composition of gari and HQCF as affected by peeling methods and cassava cultivars. An abrasive peeling machine with dual function of mechanical and mild chemical peeling of cassava roots by recycling of fruit water was developed. The peeling machine utilizes abrasive peeling surface inscribed with indented 0.12 cm stainless steel of 77 cm height with 245 cm diameter, a stainless steel based cavity, fruit water recovery tank, water pump and the transmission system. The fruit water was used to soak the cassava tubers before peeling with the machine for 60 minutes. Peeling of cassava by hands were used as control for this study. Improved cassava varieties: TMS 30572 and TME 419 were used. High quality cassava flour (HQCF) and gari produced from the varieties with three different peeling methods: manual, mechanical and mechanical/chemical (hybrid), were analyzed. The moisture content (MC), crude fat (CFT), crude protein (CP), ash, carbohydrate, cyanide content (CC), pH, packed bulk density (PBD), oil absorption capacity (OAC), least gelation concentration (LGC), water absorption capacity (WAC), swelling power (SP) and solubility from proximate composition and functional properties of HQCF for TME 419 were 11.00%, 0.00%, 0.35%, 0.0%, 0.20%, 88.45%, 1.98 mg kg-1, 5.50, 0.64 g ml-1, 144%, 6.67%, 147.5%, 887.05%, and 6.28%, respectively while values for TMS 30572 were 10.8%, 0.0%, 0.24%, 0.0%, 0.10%, 88.86%, 2.04 mg kg-1, 5.96, 0.61 g mL -1, 125%, 4.00%, 152.5%, 854.38%, and 6.00%. The MC, CP, CFT, CF, ash, carbohydrate, CC, pH, PBD, WAC, SP and solubility from proximate composition and functional properties of the gari produced for TME 419 were 6.51%, 1.42%, 0.31%, 2.21%, 0.80%, 88.75%, 2.92 mg kg-1, 4.82, 0.56 g ml-1, 320.21%, 830.55% and 6.25%, respectively, while that of TMS 30572 were 7.00%, 1.52%, 0.42%, 2.33%, 0.71%, 88.02%, 3.14 mg kg-1, 4.35, 0.675 g mL -1, 430.39%, 860.38% and 6.50% across the peeling methods. HQCF and gari had proximate and functional properties that compared favourably with those of manual peeling of cassava for the products. The study aimed to demonstrate the nutritional value of banana peels. The analysis of the chemical composition of banana peels showed that the percentage of moisture, fat, protein, ash, and carbohydrates reached 3.97, 2.90, 7.23, 9.07, and 76.83%, respectively. The total phenols in the ethanolic and methanolic extracts were 240.58 and 212.4 mg GAE/100 g, respectively, with an IC50 value of 2.39 μg/ml for banana peels. HPLC analysis revealed gallic acid, Rutin, Ferulic acid, Apigenin, Catechine, and Qurcetine in banana peels. They also contain vitamins (C, A, E, B6) and minerals (Na, P, Ca, Cu, Mg, K). Replacing cookies with different proportions of banana peels showed a change in the chemical estimates of its components. The percentages of moisture, fat, protein, ash, and carbohydrates ranged between (5.42 - 8.21) %, (23.62 - 23.87) %, (9.35 - 15.99) %, (4.39 - 5.90) %, and (50.33 -52.92) %, respectively. The substitution's effect on the cookie product's physical properties was (diameter 4.26-4.33 cm, thickness 1.45-1.62 cm, diffusion ratio 2.65-2.67). The antioxidant properties also increased significantly, as the total phenolic content ranged between 16.14−21.65 mg GAE/100 g, and the antioxidant activity ranged between 53.80−73.71% in the cookie product to which different concentrations of banana peel powder were added. Background: There is controversy on the efficacy and safety of chemical peels used to treat Hispanic women with melasma. Studies evaluating superficial peels for melasma are limited due to lack of controls, blinding or objective assessment tools, poor inclusion of darker phototypes, and small sample number. Objectives: We sought to evaluate the safety and efficacy of trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peels when added to hydroquinone and tretinoin in the treatment of melasma in Hispanic women. Methods: A single blinded, prospective, split-face trial of superficial TCA peels was performed on Hispanic women with melasma. Topical hydroquinone and tretinoin were used on both sides. A total of four monthly peels were performed on one side. The relative reduction of melasma severity was evaluated using narrowband reflectance spectrophotometry (NRS), Modified Melasma Area and Severity Index (mMASI), and Global Melasma Severity Assessment (GMSA). Adverse events were monitored. Results: Thirty-three patients completed the study. Pigment intensity was reduced on both sides based on all measures. A greater improvement of mMASI and GMSA was achieved on the peeled side. Limitations: Limitations include the single-center study design with one blinded investigator. Conclusion: Based on our results, TCA peels appear to be safe and effective in augmenting treatment response on melasma patients with phototypes III and IV treated with hydroquinone and tretinoin. Acne scarring results from a common inflammatory condition present in many people. These scars can have an impact on quality of life by influencing self-esteem and social acceptance. Current acne scarring treatments, such as chemical peels and laser treatments, often have limited success due to their time-consuming nature and the variability of acne scar types. The subcision technique has shown promise for the treatment of rolling acne scars. There are few studies to date that examine the effects of multiple subcision treatments on rolling acne scars. We evaluated whether the use of multiple subcision treatments improved the appearance of rolling acne scars compared to no treatment. Five patients with rolling acne scars on both sides of their face who met inclusion and exclusion criteria were enrolled in the study. One side of the face was randomized to receive treatment, while the contralateral side of the face received no treatment. Subjects underwent five sequential subcision treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart, with two follow-up visits at weeks 20 and 36 from the 1st treatment. Photographs were taken before and after the initial treatment visit and at each subsequent visit. Acne scar appearance was evaluated by the subject, a blinded live rater, and two double-blinded dermatologist raters. Evaluations of treatment outcomes involved overall acne scar appearance on a 5-point scale, acne scar improvement on a percentage scale, a modified quantitative global scarring grading system, and potential treatment side effects. There was a greater decrease in global scarring scores in the multiple subcision side compared to the control side. There was a greater difference in the average acne scar appearance scores between the Week 36 follow-up visit and baseline for the multiple subcision side compared to that of the control side. 50% of patients reported being more satisfied with the treatment side compared to the control side in regard to overall improvement. Background: Chemical exfoliation of the skin is a frequently utilized treatment in dermatology to improve the appearance and health of photoaged skin. Photodamaged skin is especially prone to dryness and irritation. Over‐exfoliation with at‐home products are partially to blame for the "epidemic" of sensitive skin affecting over half the population. Combining AHA, BHA, and PHA together creates a complementary blend that has the potential to target numerous age‐related changes in the skin including the appearance of pores and smoothing skin texture, while firming skin and increasing its collagen and moisture content. Objectives: The following study tested the clinical efficacy of a triple acid blend designed specifically for sensitive skin and measured improvements in signs of photodamage and hydration levels in the skin over time. Methods: Thirty females aged 35–60 with mild to moderate facial lines, wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin tone/texture, dark spots, or pores were enrolled. Subjects were instructed to use the test article, DWB‐EN, on a clean face at night 3 times weekly with 48 h between applications for 4 weeks. Results: Statistically significant improvements were noted in all parameters of photoaging clinical assessments (wrinkles, pores, overall appearance, luminosity, visible texture, skin tone evenness, hyperpigmentation) at the end of the 4‐week study period. There were no instances of skin irritation throughout the duration of this study despite half of the women having sensitive skin. Effective transmission of stress between fillers and the host matrix is instrumental in enhancing the properties of nanocomposites and optimizing filler reinforcement. This study delves into understanding stress transfer in materials, exploring the impact of synthesis methods and matrix materials through a comprehensive examination of a bilayer graphene (BLG)‐polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) nanocomposite. BLG was synthesized via chemical exfoliation and subjected to various strain conditions within a PDMS matrix. A precisely controlled strain, ranging from 0% to 0.19%, was applied using a meticulous 4‐point bending method, monitored with a standard strain gauge. The study unveiled significant shifts in the Raman spectra's 2D band, indicating a direct linear relationship with applied strain. Utilizing contour mapping techniques on well‐defined Raman spectra and stress‐induced band shifts, we mapped strain distribution within the BLG layer. The results revealed a gradual increase in strain from the lower to the upper end of the BLG structure, resembling strain behaviors observed in differently shaped fibers. Integrated skincare combines clinically proven skincare products with professional medical aesthetics to provide a comprehensive solution for beauty pursuers. Studies have demonstrated that a combination of medical aesthetic procedures and maintenance therapies is more effective than either treatment alone. This review outlines the current applications of integrated skincare, including different regimens of energy‐based aesthetic devices and active ingredients in cosmeceuticals or chemical peels. Additionally, the benefits and limitations of integrated skincare are discussed. Anti‐aging trends in Australia have changed considerably since the country emerged from the lockdowns associated with the SARS‐Cov2 pandemic. People now rely on social media influencers for skin care advice and skin care products, including professional skin care treatments that can be purchased on Internet platforms. The quest for the perfect 'zoom face' led to a 300% rise in cosmetic procedures across Australia in the year to April 2021. People now want to use less products on their skin, while looking healthy and natural (termed 'skin minimalism'). The popularity of retinoid derivatives for preventing wrinkles has been superseded by non‐irritating actives like hyaluronic acid (HA) and niacinamide that provide skin barrier protection, skin hydration, plumping and anti‐inflammatory effects. Botulinum toxin injections remain the most popular non‐surgical cosmetic procedure, followed by HA fillers, and biostimulators that promote the synthesis of collagen and give longer lasting but more gradual results than HA fillers. Laser resurfacing is widely used for epidermal resurfacing and skin tightening, as well as non‐ablative lasers, intense pulsed light and radiofrequency or ultrasound skin tightening devices. Superficial chemical peels are still popular because they are relatively gentle, inexpensive, and require no downtime, whereas medium‐to‐deep chemical peels have largely been superseded by laser technology. Objectives: Medium-depth peels are dynamic tools when used as part of office procedures for the treatment of acne scars. Most of the available literature on chemical peels focuses on their role in skin rejuvenation and hyperpigmentation. There is a paucity of well-conducted studies that have compared peels in the treatment of acne scars in Asian patients. Material and Methods: The study aimed to compare the efficacy of 70% glycolic acid (GA) and 30% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) chemical peels in the treatment of facial atrophic acne scars. A longitudinal, right-left study was conducted to assess the effectiveness and side effects of 70% GA and 30% TCA in 30 patients with acne scars. A total of four peeling sessions were performed every 4 weeks. Evaluation of the response was done using Goodman and Baron's quantitative global acne scarring grading system (GBASG), physician visual analog scale (VAS), and patient VAS at baseline and 4, 8, 12, and 16 weeks. Relevant statistical tests were employed to study the effectiveness of both TCA and GA peels. Results: Significant reduction was noted in mean GBASG scores on both sides at 8, 12, and 16 compared to baseline score (P = 0.000). Mean GBASG scores decreased from 12.67 ± 3.19 to 8.97 ± 2.73 on the 70% GA side while that on the 30% TCA side reduced from 13.20 ± 3.56 to 6.83 ± 2.60 (P = 0.003). The results were much better on the TCA peel side as compared to GA peel as per physician VAS (P = 0.000) and patient VAS (P = 0.000). Side effects such as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and acne were seen on both sides while dryness and crusting were more common on the TCA peel side. Conclusion: A 30% TCA peel is efficacious and well-tolerated for mild-to-moderate acne scars. Purpose: To evaluate the outcomes of macular hole (MH) surgery as a historical perspective after its inception in 1991. Patients and Methods: Retrospective review of 1032 eyes of 949 patients with an idiopathic MH who were followed for at least one year after the initial surgery. All surgeries were performed from 1990 to 2016 by one surgeon (NO) and included phacovitrectomy for patients of ≥ 40-years-of-age, a removal of the posterior hyaloid and epiretinal membrane, and SF6 gas tamponade with a 1-week face-down. After 1998, internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling became the conventional procedure. All surgeries were classified into four periods based on the year of the initial surgery. The first period was 1990~1995 (n = 222), the second period was 1996~1999 (n=327), the third period was 2000~2004 (n = 234), and the last period was 2005~2016 (n=249). Results: The mean follow-up period was 81.3, 79.8, 88.4, and 77.3 months; hole size was 0.33, 0.28, 0.25, and 0.24 disk diameter; hole duration was 15.1, 10.6, 8.2, and 6.1 months; the decimal visual acuity (VA) was 0.13, 0.15, 0.17, and 0.19. The initial closure rate was 61.3, 78.0, 96.6, and 96.4%. The final decimal visual acuity was 0.33, 0.50, 0.66, and 0.79. The rate of a final decimal VA of 0.5 or better was 48.2, 66.4, 82.1, and 88.8%. The rate of a final decimal visual acuity of 1.0 or more was 17.6, 29.3, 43.6, and 58.2%. Multiple regression analyses showed that hole duration and ILM peeling were significantly associated with both the anatomic and functional outcomes. Conclusion: The favorable outcomes of MH surgery was primarily achieved by earlier surgery and conventional ILM peeling. Favorable results might be obtained using only conventional ILM peeling. Chemical peels are a well-known therapeutic modality used for accelerating the treatment of melasma. OBJECTIVE: To review the published evidence on the efficacy and safety of chemical peels in the treatment of melasma. METHODS: A systematic review was done. A meta-analysis could not be done due to the heterogeneity of data. RESULT: The authors conducted a PubMed search and included prospective case series of more than 10 cases and randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that have studied the safety and/or efficacy of chemical peel in melasma. Out of 24 studies, 9 were clinical/comparative trials and 15 were RCTs. The total sample size was 1,075. The duration of the study varied from 8 to 36 weeks. Only 8 studies were split face. All studies used self-assessment, physician global assessment, and Melasma Area and Severity Index (MASI) for quantifying the results. Background: Tetrahexydecyl ascorbate (THDA) is a lipophilic precursor to ascorbic acid that may be stabilized by acetyl zingerone (AZ). Studies have shown that the topical application of THDA may have photoprotective effects. Similarly, AZ has been shown to mitigate oxidative and inflammatory stress, thereby improving the appearance of photoaging. Aims: To examine the effects of THDA and AZ (THDA‐AZ) on skin photoaging compared to THDA alone. Patients/Methods: In this double‐blind, randomized controlled trial, healthy individuals aged 30 to 65 were included and 44 participants were randomized to receive either THDA‐AZ (THDA 5% + AZ 1%) or THDA only (THDA 5%) for 8 weeks. Facial photographs were taken at 0, 4, and 8 weeks to analyze wrinkle severity, pigment intensity, and redness intensity. A skin colorimeter was used to assess infraorbital pigmentation and erythema. Self‐perception of skin and tolerability were assessed through questionnaires. Results: Average wrinkle severity was significantly decreased in the THDA‐AZ group at Weeks 4 and 8 by 0.75% (p = 0.023) and 3.72% (p = 0.048), respectively, compared to the THDA group where wrinkle severity at Weeks 4 and 8 was increased by 7.88% and 4.48%, respectively. Facial pigment intensity was significantly decreased in the THDA‐AZ group by 4.10% (p = 0.0002) at Week 8 compared to a 0.69% decrease in the THDA group. Facial redness intensity was decreased in the THDA‐AZ group at Weeks 4 and 8 by 3.73% (p = 0.0162) and 14.25% (p = 0.045), respectively, compared to the THDA group where at Weeks 4 and 8 erythema increased by 27.5% and 8.34%, respectively. There were no significant differences in either group for infraorbital pigmentation or erythema. Conclusions: Daily use of combined THDA and AZ may improve facial wrinkle severity, pigment intensity, and erythema to a greater extent than THDA. Two-dimensional (2D) materials have recently drawn interest in various applications due to their superior electronic properties, high specific surface area, and surface activity. However, studies on the catalytic properties of the 2D counterpart of V2O5 are scarce. In the present study, the catalytic properties of 2D V2O5 vis-à-vis bulk V2O5 for the degradation of methylene blue dye are discussed for the first time. The 2D V2O5 catalyst was synthesized using a modified chemical exfoliation technique. A massive increase in the electrochemically active surface area of 2D V2O5 by one order of magnitude greater than that of bulk V2O5 was observed in this study. Simultaneously, ~ 7 times increase in the optical absorption coefficient of 2D V2O5 significantly increases the number of photogenerated electrons involved in the catalytic performance. In addition, the surface activity of the 2D V2O5 catalyst is enhanced by generating surface oxygen vacancy defects. In the current study, we have achieved ~ 99% degradation of 16 ppm dye using the 2D V2O5 nanosheet catalysts under UV light exposure with a remarkable degradation rate constant of 2.31 min−1, which is an increase of the order of 102 from previous studies using V2O5 nanostructures and nanocomposites as catalysts. Since the enhanced photocatalytic activity emerged from the surface and optical properties of the catalyst, the current study shows great promise for the future application of 2D V2O5 in photo- and electrocatalysis. The adjustable structures and remarkable physicochemical properties of 2D monoelemental materials, such as silicene and germanene, have attracted significant attention in recent years. They can be transformed into silicane (SiH) and germanane (GeH) through covalent functionalization via hydrogen atom termination. However, synthesizing these materials with a scalable and low‐cost fabrication process to achieve high‐quality 2D SiH and GeH poses challenges. Herein, groundbreaking 2D SiH and GeH materials with varying compositions, specifically Si0.25Ge0.75H, Si0.50Ge0.50H, and Si0.75Ge0.25H, are prepared through a simple and efficient chemical exfoliation of their Zintl phases. These 2D materials offer significant advantages, including their large surface area, high mechanical flexibility, rapid electron mobility, and defect‐rich loose‐layered structures. Among these compositions, the Si0.50Ge0.50H electrode demonstrates the highest discharge capacity, reaching up to 1059 mAh g−1 after 60 cycles at a current density of 75 mA g−1. A comprehensive ex‐situ electrochemical analysis is conducted to investigate the reaction mechanisms of lithiation/delithiation in Si0.50Ge0.50H. Subsequently, an initial assessment of the c‐Li15(SixGe1‐x)4 phase after lithiation and the a‐Si0.50Ge0.50 phase after delithiation is presented. Hence, this study contributes crucial insights into the (de)lithiation reaction mechanisms within germanane‐silicane alloys. The patients' assessment of progress, their overall satisfaction and preferences, and the side effects were also evaluated.No significant difference was observed between the two lasers in terms of the mean ECCA scores after treatments (P = 0.209). The physicians' improvement assessment was more significant for the fractional CO2 laser (P = 0.001). Background: To investigate anatomical and functional changes of the macula caused by epiretinal membrane (ERM) peeling procedures in patients with or without posterior vitreous detachment (PVD). Methods: This is a multicentric prospective observational study on thirty-seven (37) patients affected by symptomatic ERM who underwent 25-gauge pars plana vitrectomy (PPV), induction of a PVD (as needed) and peeling of both the internal limiting membrane (ILM) and ERM. Optical coherence tomography–angiography (OCT-A) (RS 3000, Nidek, Japan) and microperimetry (MP-3, Nidek, Japan) were performed; central retinal thickness (CRT), foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area and perimeter, vessel density and perfusion density, retinal sensitivity and fixation stability (as a total mean retinal sensitivity (MRS), and MRS in the ellipse area and bivariate contour ellipse area (BCEA)) were recorded at baseline and up to postoperative month 3. Results: Eyes were classified as having complete PVD (51.4%) or incomplete PVD (48.6%). At baseline, patients with incomplete PVD had worse best-corrected distance visual acuity (BCDVA), total MRS, MRS in the ellipse area and BCEA, and higher CRT than patients with complete PVD. At month 3, the differences in BCDVA between the two groups remained statistically significant, with patients with incomplete PVD having worse results (difference: 0.199 logMAR, p < 0.001). The difference in the MRS in the ellipse area was statistically significant at month 3 (−3.378 Db, p = 0.035), with greater improvement in patients with complete PVD. Conclusions: Our study shows that patients with incomplete PVD have worse conditions at baseline than patients with complete PVD, and the differences in visual acuity and retinal sensitivity were maintained postoperatively. Solution-based processing of two-dimensional (2D) materials has garnered significant interest as a facile and versatile route for the large-scalable production of 2D material films. Despite the benefits in process, these films were not considered suitable for device applications during the early stages of research because their electronic properties were far from those of 2D materials obtained through micromechanical exfoliation or chemical vapor deposition. Due to the small lateral dimensions and polydisperse thickness of constituent 2D nanosheets, the resulting film tends to be porous and exhibits numerous inter-sheet junctions, primarily contacting edge-to-edge. This nanosheet morphology leads to poor electrical conductivity of the network, and also hinders the film functioning as a semiconductor or an insulator. To produce ultrathin 2D nanosheets with narrow thickness distribution and large lateral sizes, various chemical exfoliation strategies have been explored, but these are limited by long process times, involvement of harsh chemicals, and/or undesired structural damage or phase changes. Recent breakthroughs in electrochemical exfoliation using tetraalkylammonium intercalants enabled the production of high-quality 2D nanosheets with structural characteristics favorable for producing ultrathin, conformal films of 2D materials, which allow for scalable production of high-performance electronic components that can readily be assembled into functional devices via solution-processing. In this review article, we aim to offer an extensive introduction solution-based processing techniques for acquiring 2D nanosheets, their subsequent assembly into thin films, and their diverse applications, primarily focusing on electronics and optoelectronics but also extending to other fields. Background: Acne scar is an inflammatory condition, which commonly occurs in patients with acne vulgaris, especially in adults. Mesogels have been reported effective in improving atrophic acne scars. Aims: We investigated the efficacy of adding Profhilo (a hyaluronic acid‐based filler) to subcision as a new treatment method. Methods: Twelve patients aged 18–45 years with atrophic acne scars on both sides of the face participated in this single‐blinded, split‐face, randomized controlled trial. Each side of the face was randomly assigned to one of the treatment methods, including subcision alone and subcision + Profhilo. Patients in the Profhilo arm received mesogel (1 cc) in addition to the subcision procedure. Both methods were carried out two times at 1‐month intervals. Assessments were done based on the sonographic depth of scars, and two blinded observers examined photographs at baseline and 3 months after the final session and the results were reported based on an exclusively made formula as the total score. The Global Improvement Scale and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) (for patient satisfaction) were also used. Results: The VAS score of patient satisfaction was statistically significant in the Profhilo arm, with a mean improvement of 528.08 and 219.06 in the subcision arm (p = 0.02). No significant difference was seen in total acne scar reduction comparing the two methods (29.74 in the Profhilo arm and 22.27 in the subcision arm, p = 0.56). Sonographic depth reduction was also non‐significant, with a mean of 29.21 in the Profhilo arm and 28.53 in the subcision arm (p = 0.4). The mean global improvement was reported as four in both arms, and no statistical significance was observed (p = 0.89). The best response to treatment belonged to the rolling subtype in both methods (p = 0.029 for the Profhilo arm and p = 0.001 for the subcision arm). Background: Acanthosis nigricans is a non‐inflammatory skin pigmentary disorder characterized by a dark, velvety appearance, primarily observed in the neck and axillary areas. It is commonly associated with obesity, diabetes, and insulin resistance. Although the primary treatment is correcting the underlying disorders, many aesthetic modalities have been established to improve appearance owing to cosmetic concerns. Aims: We aimed to compare and investigate the effectiveness and side effects of tretinoin 0.05% and glycolic acid 70% in treating acanthosis nigricans lesions of the axillary and neck area. Methods: This single‐blinded, randomized trial recruited patients with neck or axillary involvement. Each patient was randomized to use cream tretinoin 0.05% every other night on one side, while the other side was treated with glycolic acid 70%, which was applied every 2 weeks at the clinic for four consecutive sessions. The study duration was 8 weeks, and patients were evaluated every 2 weeks based on their response to treatment, satisfaction, and side effects. Results: Thirty patients, including 14 with neck lesions and 16 with axillary lesions, were included. Tretinoin was significantly more effective for axillary lesions in terms of treatment response and patient satisfaction (p = 0.02 and p = 0.008, respectively). It was also shown that as the severity of the lesions increased, the response to treatment and patient satisfaction decreased, specifically when treating axillary lesions with glycolic acid (p = 0.02 and p = 0.03, respectively). Conclusion: Neither method was significantly effective for neck lesions. Background: Acne vulgaris is a common inflammatory disease associated with various sequelae after skin lesion remission. Acne erythema has been considered simple erythema or a vascular lesion; however, because the understanding of this disease has improved, acne erythema is currently considered an early scar with erythematous components. Aims: This study evaluated the efficacy of using both a 595‐nm pulsed dye laser (PDL) and 1565‐nm nonablative fractional laser (NAFL) for the treatment of erythematous scars caused by acne. Methods: Ninety patients with acne scars were equally randomized to two groups. Group A (n = 45) received treatment with the NAFL. Group B (n = 45) received treatment with the PDL and NAFL. Each patient underwent one treatment session and 4 weeks of follow‐up. Results: Qualitative (χ2 = 12.415; p < 0.05) and quantitative (t = 2.675; p < 0.05) scores of Groups A and B were determined using a global scarring grading system and exhibited statistically significant differences. The quantitative score of Group A was higher than that of Group B (6.67 ± 3.46 vs. 4.98 ± 2.44). The erythema areas of the groups differed significantly after treatment, with Group B exhibiting more notable score improvements (5.00 [3.10, 7.10] vs. 2.80 [1.65, 4.60]; Z = 3.072; p < 0.05). The erythema regression rate of Group B (88.9%) was significantly higher than that of Group A (66.7%) (χ2 = 20.295; p < 0.001). Adverse events, including redness and swelling (86.6%), scabbing (78.8%), and purpura (36.6%), occurred within 7 days for 86.6% of patients. Objective: During the COVID-19 pandemic, elective surgeries faced cancelations due to quarantine measures. The objective of this study was to assess facial plastic and reconstructive surgery (FPRS) volume before, during, and after the height of the pandemic on a national scale. Methods: The TriNetX Research Network identified 68,101,098 individuals aged 18+ with healthcare interactions from 2017 to 2022. Rates of common FPRS surgeries and procedures were compared during March-August of each year, aligning with the pandemic lockdown. Results: Compared to immediately before the pandemic in 2019, the 2020 pandemic peak saw an overall surgical volume reduction of -36.8%, with specific surgeries decreasing significantly: rhinoplasty (-28.6%), septoplasty (-34.0%), rhytidectomy (-54.9%), blepharoplasty (-40.7%), brow lift (-43.8%), ectropion/entropion repair (-35.6%), repair of blepharoptosis (-45.6%), correction of lagophthalmos (-29.9%), correction of lid retraction (-36.8%), and lipectomy (-41.8%) (p < .001). The procedural volume also decreased by 28.6%, encompassing reductions in various procedures: botulinum toxin A (-18.7%), facial filler (-40.7%), dermabrasion (-62.3%), chemical peel (-36.6%), and intralesional injection (-33.3%) (p < .001). In contrast to 2020, 2021 witnessed an increase of +75.0% in total surgical and +61.3% procedural volume: rhinoplasty (+81.0%), septoplasty (+74.7%), rhytidectomy (+143.4%), blepharoplasty (+81.7%), brow lift (+64.5%), ectropion/entropion repair (+55.2%), repair of blepharoptosis (+62.7%), correction of lagophthalmos (+39.0%), correction of lid retraction (+73.0%), lipectomy (+121.2%), botulinum toxin A (+52.4%), filler (+59.6%), dermabrasion (+91.8%), chemical peel (+78.8%), and intralesional injection (+67.3%) (p < .001). Acne vulgaris is a common dermatological condition that can present across different ages but predominantly affects adolescents and young adults. Characterized by various lesion types, the pathogenesis of acne is complex, involving genetic, hormonal, microbial, and inflammatory factors. This review comprehensively addresses current and emerging acne management strategies, emphasizing both topical and systemic treatments, procedural therapies, and dietary modifications. Boron nitride (BN) nanosheets in bulk quantity and reproducible quality were generated by a top-down approach from coarse (micron) grade hexagonal boron nitride (m-hBN) via cryo-milling under optimized process conditions followed by sonication. The as-produced boron nitride nanosheets showed a lower average thickness of about 15–25 nm when compared to previously reported low-yield techniques like sonication and specific solvent-induced liquid exfoliation and chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Interestingly, some fraction of the hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) was transformed to rhombohedral BN (rBN) under cryo-milling conditions. Such transition assisted the generation of the layered 2D nanosheet structure due to higher interlamellar spacing of the basal planes in rBN. Thermo-gravimetric and differential scanning calorimetric (TG/DSC) studies showed thermal stability of hBN/rBN nanosheets up to about 800 °C when compared to about 1000 °C in m-hBN, with the formation of BNOx and B2O3 phases. Multiple DSC peaks for oxidation were observed corresponding to different particle size ranges in the powder. BACKGROUND: Improving the appearance of lentigines on the hands is a key component to hand rejuvenation. Soft tissue fillers revolumize hands, but do not address pigmentary changes. OBJECTIVE: This study investigated the effiacy of a 15% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) + 3% glycolic acid (GA) combination peel in improvement of appearance of hand lentigines. METHODS: A prospective evaluator-blinded, split-hand study was performed using a 15% TCA + 3% GA peel to treat patients with hand lentigines. Subjects received a total of 3 treatments at 4-week intervals on 1 hand, with the other hand serving as an untreated control. Final photographs were taken 12 weeks after the last treatment. Two blinded board-certified dermatologists graded improvement in hand lentigines using a 5-point scale. RESULTS: Eighteen of 20 patients completed the study (90%). The mean age was 64.4 years (SE 1.6, range 51–71). The mean pain scores were 3.8 (SE 0.4) on a 10-point scale (1 = no pain, 10 = extremely painful). Blinded evaluators correctly identified the after-treatment photographs in 16 patients (88%). Physician and patient-graded mean improvement of lentigines was significant for treated versus control hands (p <.01). No adverse events were noted. Although patients with refractory melasma have been treated using various methods, there is still no precise definition or summary of the therapies. To define refractory melasma and conduct a review of the treatments, we searched for relevant publications in PubMed, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library, and a total of 35 references were obtained. Refractory melasma can be roughly defined as an ineffective treatment for melasma, including topical bleaching agents, chemical peels, laser therapy, microdermabrasion for more than six months, or chemical peels treated more than six times. Meanwhile, physicians should be careful when treating patients with darker skin and dermal or mixed types of melasma since these individuals do not respond well to treatment. Lasers combined with other methods, especially different types of lasers or topical agents, are considered more effective than monotherapy. Oral tranexamic acid (TXA) is a prospective cure for refractory melasma. Other methods include a combination of chemical peels, microneedling, or injections with additional therapies. In conclusion, we were able to provide a rough definition of refractory melasma and list the available therapies. According to the literature, the most prevalent treatment is laser combination therapy. However, laser treatment should be considered only after topical agents and chemical peeling have failed. Considering its side effects, efficacy, and safety, oral TXA may be a better option, but more research is needed to make a firm conclusion. Moreover, maintenance therapy is required after treatment. Purpose: Optimization of medical factors including diabetes and obesity is a cornerstone in the prevention of prosthetic joint infection (PJI). Dyslipidaemia is another component of metabolic syndrome which has not been thoroughly investigated as an individual, modifiable risk factor. This study examined the association of dyslipidaemia with PJI caused by the lipophilic microbe Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes). Methods: A retrospective chart review examined patients with positive C. acnes culture at hip or knee arthroplasty explantation. A control group with methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus (MSSA) positive cultures at explantation was matched for age, sex, and surgical site, as well as a second control group with no infection. A total of 80 patients were included, 16 with C. acnes, 32 with MSSA, and 32 with no infection. All patients had a lipid panel performed within one year of surgery. Lipid values and categories were compared using multinomial logistic regressions. Results: High or borderline triglycerides (TG) (relative risk ratio (RRR) = 0.13; P = 0.013) and low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) (RRR = 0.13; P = 0.025) were significantly associated with C. acnes PJI compared to MSSA-PJI. High or borderline TG (RRR = 0.21; P = 0.041) and low HDL (RRR = 0.17; P = 0.043) were also associated with a greater probability of C. acnes infection compared to no infection. Conclusions: The presence of elevated TG and low HDL were both associated at a statistically significant level with C. acnes hip or knee PJI compared to controls with either MSSA PJI or no infection. Introduction: Acanthosis Nigricans (AN) is an acquired disorder of keratinization. It presents as hyperpigmentation, velvety texture of skin that can involve any part of the body including the face. Different topical, systemic therapies, or physical therapies including laser have been explored. However, there are not many randomized controlled studies for the majority of therapy alternatives besides lifestyle modifications and weight reduction. Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of 15% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and 35% glycolic acid (GA) peel for AN. Materials and Methods: Forty participants were included and randomized into two groups. In groups A and B, peeling with 15% TCA and 35% GA was done, respectively. The effectiveness of each peel was assessed using changes in the Acanthosis Nigricans Area and Severity Index Score (ANASI) and Physician Assessment Score. Statistical analysis included Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test, Friedman test, and generalized estimating equations. Results: The overall change in ANASI over time was compared in the two groups using the generalized estimating equations method. A significant difference was observed in the trend of ANASI over time between the two groups (P < 0.001). TCA peel group showed more change in ANASI as compared with GA peel group. Conclusion: In our research, 15% TCA has a better efficacy when compared with 35% GA peel after three sessions of chemical peeling. We therefore recommend the use of 15% TCA peel in AN as a safe and effective treatment option. However, more comprehensive randomized control studies are required for supporting data. In this paper, we present a novel hybrid material consisting of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and molybdenum disulfide (MoS 2) with enhanced photoresponsivity in the near-infrared (NIR) region. MoS2 nanosheets are obtained through chemical exfoliation in NMP solvent, and MWCNTs are grown on these nanosheets using the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technique. The combination of the NIR transparency of MWCNTs and the high UV light absorption of MoS2 leads to a substantial increase in the photoresponsivity (R) of the MoS2@MWCNTs hybrid compared to bare MoS2 specifically in the NIR region. Experimental results demonstrate a remarkable enhancement of R from 18.6 μ A/W to 155.7 μ A/W in the hybrid material, whereas the opposite trend is observed in the case of bare MoS2. Topicals and chemical peels are the standard of care for management of facial hyperpigmentation. However, traditional therapies have come under recent scrutiny, such as topical hydroquinone (HQ) has some regulatory restrictions, and high concentration trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel pose a risk in patients with skin of colour. The objective of our research was to identify, investigate and elucidate the mechanism of action of a novel TCA‐ and HQ‐free professional‐use chemical peel to manage common types of facial hyperpigmentation. Using computational modelling and in vitro assays on tyrosinase, we identified proprietary multi‐acid synergistic technology (MAST). After a single application on human skin explants, MAST peel was found to be more effective than a commercial HQ peel in inhibiting melanin (histochemical imaging and gene expression). All participants completed the case study (N = 9) without any adverse events. After administration of the MAST peel by a dermatologist, the scoring and VISIA photography reported improvements in hyperpigmentation, texture and erythema, which could be linked to underlying pathophysiological changes in skin after peeling, visualized by non‐invasive optical biopsy of face. Using reflectance confocal microscopy (VivaScope®) and multiphoton tomography (MPTflex™), we observed reduction in melanin, increase in metabolic activity of keratinocytes, and no signs of inflammatory cells after peeling. Subsequent swabbing of the cheek skin found no microbiota dysbiosis resulting from the chemical peel. The strong efficacy with minimum downtime and no adverse events could be linked to the synergistic action of the ingredients in the novel HQ‐ and TCA‐free professional peel technology. Background: Pediatric procedural dermatology is a broad and emerging aspect in the field of dermatology. Pediatric procedures require great expertise, skill, empathy, and confidence on the part of the treating physician. The challenging factors such as parental anxiety and doubts, the child’s cooperation, and the risks versus benefits are further contributory. Objective: The objective of the study was to summarize the risks of intra‑ and postoperative complications/side effects during diagnostic and therapeutic procedure in the pediatric population. Materials and Methods: We conducted a retrospective study in our hospital. Patients were taken between ages 0 and 18 years who had attended the dermatology outpatient department from January 2019 to March 2022. Results: In a total of 527 outpatient department patients, 267 (50.66%) were males and 260 (49.33%) were females (male: female ratio 1.02:1). Out of diagnostic procedures, the most commonly performed procedures were punch biopsy (14.61%), followed by autologous serum skin test (11.81%) and slit‑skin smear (1.90%). Out of 15 therapeutic procedures, intralesional steroids (21.34%) were the most frequently performed therapeutic procedure, followed by radiofrequency cauterization (16.51%), autologous skin therapy (6.98%), cryotherapy (8.76%), nail surgery (2.79%), chemical peeling (2.79%), comedone extraction (2.66%), chemical cauterization (2.54%), neodymium‑doped yttrium aluminum garnet laser (2.16%), platelet‑rich plasma therapy (1.39%), diode laser (1.27%), measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine injection (0.89%), fractional carbon dioxide laser (0.63%), suction blister epidermal grafting (0.63%), and platelet‑rich fibrin therapy (0.25%). Conclusions: This study provided comprehensive data on the various dermatological procedures done for pediatric cases in a tertiary care teaching hospital. Both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures caused mild and transient side effects such as pain, edema, erythema, burning sensations, and irritation that did not affect the patient’s lifestyle. Background: Scarring is one of the most prevalent long‐term complications of acne vulgaris and has cosmetic, psychological, and social burdens. Contemporary management programs integrate multiple modalities to best address the multiple factors underlying their development and persistence. This work assessed the impact of sequential multimodal laser therapy on acne scar geometrics and texture. Methods: Adult patients (n = 16) with Fitzpatrick skin type II–IV and presenting with facial acne scars, underwent three combination ablative (CO2), and nonablative (1570 nm) laser treatment sessions at two‐month intervals. Treatment was delivered using a ProScan Hybrid applicator, with each regimen including illumination with both ablative and a nonablative lasers applied in a grid mode sequence. Scar microtopography was assessed at baseline and 6 months after the last treatment session. Results: At baseline, all patients had both box and rolling scars, while only three had icepick scars. Six months following treatment, mean scar volume improved from 5.7 ± 5.2 mm3 at baseline to 3.1 ± 3.0 mm3 and mean affected area improved from 165.6 ± 134.0 mm2 94.0 ± 80.1 mm2, translating to 47.0 ± 7.9% and 43.2 ± 8.6% reductions from baseline, respectively. Patients were highly satisfied with treatment outcomes, and no serious adverse reactions were documented during the course of treatment or follow‐up. Conclusion: Multimodal CO2 and 1570‐nm laser treatment improved the surface profilometry of patients with atrophic facial acne scars. Customization of both treatment intervals and laser settings to cosmetic regions, scar profiles and skin phototypes may further enhance treatment outcomes and expand its applicability to additional skin deformities. Background: The demand for nonsurgical facial rejuvenation options is growing, yet the periorbital region remains an area of relative unmet need. This review explores nonsurgical options for facial rejuvenation and the role of oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution, 0.1%, in treating age‐related blepharoptosis as part of periorbital rejuvenation. Methods: Advisors experienced in facial rejuvenation met to discuss existing literature on the upper face and periorbital rejuvenation and the role of oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution, 0.1%, in treating facial aging. Results: An array of nonsurgical options exist to address the signs of aging, including minimally invasive treatments, such as botulinum toxin injections and dermal fillers, and noninvasive therapy, such as lasers, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion. However, treating age‐related ptosis in periorbital rejuvenation is mainly addressed surgically. The newly approved α‐adrenergic receptor agonist oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution, 0.1%, provides a novel non‐interventional approach to blepharoptosis. Conclusions: Facial rejuvenation is highly sought‐after in this post‐pandemic era. Each nonsurgical treatment option has its advantages and drawbacks. A patient‐centered approach is necessary to select the appropriate procedure considering the patient's concerns and aesthetic sensibilities. The eyes are an area of primary concern for patients, yet surgery is the gold standard for treating ptosis.
