The present contribution aims to analyse the pandemic experience of adolescents - specifically in relation to the school context - and their efforts to re-signify their own reality, starting from the reflections on the theme of school principals involved in a research project aimed at identifying the best practices implemented by schools to keep a high level of attention on the educational, pedagogical and didactic aspect in favor of students in the 2019-2022 pandemic three-year period. The present reflection focuses specifically on three issues which represents a sort of "common ground" for school principals and students during pandemics: the role of technologies in support of teaching, the use of social media as social connectors and finally the role of the school in supporting the construction of personal identity in the pandemic experience of children and adolescents, highlighting how tools and methods may change but the "sense of going to school" must remain firm as a foundational dimension of the human experience of growth.
