One of the first pioneers to try to reconcile the Catholic doctrine of creation, salvation and redemption with the idea of evolution was the French Jesuit Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. He believed that humanity has an important role to play in the further development of the universe, since human conscio usness or thought represents the highest stage of the evolution of the universe. This evolution was to be completed by reaching the Omega Point, which draws the universe and humanity towards the perfect complex interconnectedness. This is a distinctly teleological, finalistic view of the evolution of the universe and of life in it, and the Omega Point is associated with Christ, as depicted in some of the writings of the New Testament. In this paper, two hypotheses are put forward on the basis of Teilhard’s philosophy and proved by scientific facts. The first is that in the evolution of nature, that is, of the material universe (cosmogenesis), of life (abiogenesis) and of thought or spirit (noogenesis), we can see the solution of the original theological problem, namely, the evil of disconnectedness, by means of the integration of simple parts into a complex whole. The second hypothesis argues that modern technology is one of the phenomena of evolution, specifically of noogenesis, because by facilitating the flow of information and transdisciplinary learning, research and collaboration, it can foster the interweaving of simple thoughts and thinking persons into a complex whole. This is not to overlook the pressing problem where technology is not only connective but also disruptive, not because it is inherently bad, but because of the unhealthy spirit of a society that is immature to the new gains of humanity due to a weak moral consciousness. In this article we suggest that guidelines for the ethical use of technology should also be developed from the perspective of the Omega Point, namely from the ultimate full complex interconnectedness of creation, and that the motivation for following them should be found in the meaningful and realizes identity of the persons who use them. Today we live in an era of transparency, made possible by digital technology and the ideal of transparency. To understand the origins of this ideal, we must first look at the concept of transparency. The notion of transparency, which originally derives from optics, has evolved from being a property of the material through which we can see to being a thing that we can see. In this way, the term also acquires its metaphorical use and begins to denote a quality of sincere people. Transparency as an epistemological and moral value is thus extended to many areas and becomes a general and principled requirement of modern society, and as such it becomes an ideal. The modern demand for transparency of everything interferes in an important way with the possibility of genuine interpersonal relations and the possibility of establishing ethics itself. Technological change is one of the most important forces shaping modern society. Which perspectives can help us understand technological change, especially from a political economy lens? The first part of this article provides a basic overview of debates that shaped this scientific field, starting with nineteenth century British political economy. Liberal political economists as well as their critics of the time both saw the machinery question as a paramount challenge to British society, especially with regard to the problem of technological unemployment. The second part of the article turns to neoclassical economics and the conceptual tools that it uses to understand technology. Critiques of the neoclassical approach are also included, of which Schumpeter’s critique is the most important. The third part of the article turns to the contemporary literature on “skill-biased technological change” which rewards those that have the skills that complement digital technology and punishes those that do not. Background/Aim. The geometry of each bone in the human skeletal system is unique. The aim of this research was to present application of a new method, method of anatomical features (MAF), for the creation of the geometrical model (surface and solid) of the human mandible. Methods. The method was based on Referential Geometrical Entities (RGEs) which have been defined on mandible polygonal model in accordance with anatomical properties of the mandible. Polygonal model was created over the input data (anatomical landmarks of the mandible) acquired from computed tomography scans. For the creation of computer-aided design (CAD) models in CATIA software, referential geometrical entities were defined according to the bone geometry and morphology features. Results. Definition of B-spline curves was performed on the body and on the ramus of the mandible. In this way, it was possible to create the geometrically accurate and anatomically correct three-dimensional geometric (surface and solid) models. The accuracy of the obtained surface model was tested through comparison with the geometry of the original bone model. Conclusion. Compared to the previously applied methods for creating geometric models, MAF provides more satisfactory results, and in some cases even better. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Despite national and international guidelines recommending inclusion of psychotherapy and psychosocial interventions as regular part of treatment for patients with psychosis spectrum disorders (PSD), outpatient psychiatric care in Southeastern Europe (SEE) is mostly limited to medication prescription. DIALOG+ is a recently developed technology-based, patient centered psychosocial intervention that provides an economically viable intervention for treatment and comprehensive evaluation of multiple life domains. Its effectiveness in a range of psychiatric disorders has been shown in several studies conducted in high-income countries. Before an ongoing study evaluating DIALOG+ implementation and effectiveness in developing SEE countries is completed, we aimed to explore general impressions of mental health clinicians towards such an intervention and to compare the duration of treatment as usual (TAU) with DIALOG+ enriched appointments of PSD outpatients. The attendees of the national professional educational symposium were presented with DIALOG+, after which they completed a short survey on their general impressions towards the intervention. To obtain the information regarding duration of psychiatric appointments for patients with PSD in Serbia, we used data from a currently ongoing randomized clinical trial where DIALOG+ is being tested for effectiveness. The impressions of the survey (n=110) from mostly psychiatrists and psychiatry residents towards the concept of this intervention were overwhelmingly positive. However, the question arose if TAU is being prolonged by DIALOG+ to the extent that might limit its implementation. Although significant difference in average session duration was observed between DIALOG+ and TAU (31.96±16.47 vs. 19.75±6.11 minutes, p<0.01), providing structured interventions and patient evaluation might be of additional benefit for long term care and quality of life of PSD patients. To the best of our knowledge, this was the first evaluation of the duration of psychiatric appointments for outpatients with PSD in Serbia. Technological development is advancing more rapidly than regulatory regimes. The adaptability of regulatory regimes and integration with technological advances are hindered by cumbersome legislative and bureaucratic processes. The wind of change which technology brings to the world has blown through the maritime industry as with many other industries. This article seeks to discuss the areas of maritime law which will be affected by the introduction of unmanned vessels and will consider ways to sidestep or deal with potential quagmires in the light of this inevitable technological development. The use of laminated timber load bearing elements in the past few decades is increasing due to their better characteristics when compared to other bearing elements - smaller weight (400 to 600 kg/m3), good mechanical properties in relation to weight (compressive strength 40 to 80 MP, tensile strength up to 180 MP), feasible production of lengths up to 100 m, production of variety of forms, flat, curved, circular). The production process of laminated timber load bearing elements differs depending on the technology used - classic or sophisticated (automated) technology. Production lines using classic and sophisticated technologies are presented in this paper. Also presented are the safety aspects in the production of laminated timber load bearing elements using the mentioned technologies, with focus on safety and health of the workers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The production process is investigated for each of the two technologies indicating the likely risks and types of hazards to safety and health. The paper proposes important and much needed measures to assure safety at work in this production. The aim of this research was to examine the cognitive and affective reactions of people to the information about rapid technical development which will, according to Moore's law and predictions of computer science specialists, be speedily accelerated and extended to all domains of human life in the near future. It is questionable whether people are ready for these changes and how would they react on them, both from an affective and a cognitive point of view. The study involved three groups of participants (N = 197). The first received information on the future of technical development based on scientific predictions and thoughts of authority through the carefully planned lecture. The other group received implicit information on possible changes connected with rapid development by displaying a science fiction film. The third group was referential - participants did not receive any information. The data on the perception of the future and of the positivity of progress were collected in all three groups. The results showed that the groups that were exposed to information about the future systematically assessed the future more negatively than the reference group. These differences were statistically significant but relatively small. Some of the stable characteristics of the personality domain, such as optimism and the dimension of intellect, have been shown to be slightly positively associated with the perception of the future. The results imply the importance of interdisciplinary academic discussions on the potential impact of the rapid development of technology on people's lives to facilitate the adjustment of people to such development. The popular program of science education called Prehistoric Pottery: Interdisciplinarity and Experiment was organised as part of the science popularisation program undertaken by the Center for Experimental Archaeology together with the Institute of Archaeology and the Archaeology Department of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zagreb, and financed by the Croatian Ministry of Science and Education. The goal is to combine several scientific disciplines by blurring the borders between them and creating a synergy of knowledge of archaeology, geology and ethnology in order to understand the entire pottery production process of the past, using the archaeological experiment as the main method to achieve the objectives. Author analyses the question and application of technology. Author draws on works of Heidegger, Marcuse and Jonas. The emphasis is put on Marcuse since he developed best theory of liberation through technology and offered a detailed vision of aesthetic ethos. Author first discusses Heidegger's understanding of technology which largely influenced Marcuse. Then, author discusses Jonas' proposition for a new ethics for technological civilization. Finally, drawing on Heidegger, Marcuse, Jonas and Simondon, author proposes term "technoaesthetics" as a notion that describes and captures a qualitatively different idea of a usage and application of technology. Članek poskuša misliti ideologijo niti na ravni vsebine misli niti na ravni diskurza, temveč na ravni delovanja, ki je – to bo osnovna teza članka – prvič, večinoma nediskurzivno in, drugič, v 21. stoletju odločilno tehnološko določeno. V nasprotju s klasičnimi ideološkimi formacijami 19. in deloma še 20. stoletja ideologija danes ne deluje več na ravni razmerja med posameznikovim umom in dominatnimi diskurzi, prav tako ne deluje več kot oblika subjektivacije, temveč drugje in drugače, na ravni, ki je tehnološko posredovana in infrasubjektivna. Takšno delovanje ideologije – ki poteka na (mikro)ravni afektov – obide procese subjektivacije in interpelacije ter raven verjetja, pomena in medijskih reprezentacij. Te spremembe tudi »reprogramirajo« delovanje kognitivnih procesov posameznikov in odločilno vplivajo na izobraževanje, saj nekdanjo prevladujočo obliko »družbene zavesti«, ki je bila linearna in kavzalna, nadomeščajo nove oblike družbene zavesti, prilagojene novim medijskim tehnologijam in praksam. The article is an attempt to think ideology neither on the level of the content of thought nor on the level of discourse, but on the level of its functioning, which is – this will be the main thesis of the article – firstly, mostly undiscursive and, secondly, at least in the 21stcentury, technologically determined in a decisive way. In distinction to classic ideological formations of the 19thand partially 20thcenturies, ideology today no longer works on the level of the relation between individual minds and dominant discourses, neither does it work as a form of subjectivation; today, ideology works on a different level and in a different way: on the level that is technologically mediated and infra-subjective. Such functioning of ideology, by taking place on the (micro)level of affects, bypasses the process of subjectivation and interpellation as well as the level on which belief, meaning, and media representations function. These changes also “reprogram” the way individuals’ cognitive processes work and decisively influence education, as the traditional – linear and causal – mode of “social psyche” is being replaced by new modes of social psyche, modes adapted to new media technologies and practices. The preanalytical phase is crucial for assuring the quality of in vitro diagnostics. The leading aspects which contribute to enhance the vulnerability of this part of the total testing process include the lack of standardization of different practices for collecting, managing, transporting and processing biological specimens, the insufficient compliance with available guidelines and the still considerable number of preventable human errors. As in heavy industry, road traffic and aeronautics, technological advancement holds great promise for decreasing the risk of medical and diagnostic errors, thus including those occurring in the extra-analytical phases of the total testing process. The aim of this article is to discuss some potentially useful technological advances, which are not yet routine practice, but may be especially suited for improving the quality of the preanalytical phase in the future. These are mainly represented by introduction of needlewielding robotic phlebotomy devices, active blood tubes, drones for biological samples transportation, innovative approaches for detecting spurious hemolysis and preanalytical errors recording software products. Technology of hard goat cheese and whey production from organic goat's milk is very complex and must be harmonized with the methods and guidelines of organic production. The organic goat cheeses are declared as products of higher quality, with greater or added value, and to achieve this, all technological parameters of production must be controlled and adapted to the desired type of cheese. In this study chemical analyses of the composition of organic and conventional goat's milk, cheese and whey were performed. Cheese fatty acids profile was determined by gas chromatograph (GC) with FID detector, while for detection of amino acids was used HPLC method with fluorescence detection. Data obtained in the study were analyzed using Statistica 9.0 software package and significant differences were determined using t-test. Based on the results, organic milk was statistically significantly higher in all components, except in ash and sodium (p<0.05, p<0.01). Contrary, cheeses (aged 4 days) did not show significant differences (p<0.05, p<0.01), except for dry matter and lactose. During ripening of organic cheese the contents of threonine, tyrosine, valine and isoleucine decreased, whereas methionine, phenylalanine and lysine, showed a tendency to increase. Saturated fatty acids were mainly represented with myristic, palmitic and stearic acids while oleic acid was dominant as unsaturated FA. Organic whey samples contained significantly more protein (1.43 % versus 0.52 %, p<0.05, p<0.01). The application of organic standards of manufacture and control of all technological parameters in the production of organic hard goat cheese and whey resulted in obtaining a high-quality products. This work examines the relationship between mass media and digital technology by following McChesney's argument (2013) that the division on the technological optimists and technological pessimists is gaining in significance again. The debate between these two currents, which has been ongoing since the beginning of the Internet with variable intensity, has enabled many advantages and many disadvantages brought by the digital age is discussed in its "pure form". The concept of Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC) was created by combining the efficiency and speed construction of earth dams with safety of concrete dams. Technology of the RCC has found extensive application worldwide, primarily for the construction and repair of concrete dams, but also for the construction of industrial pavements, parking space, roads, highways, airport runways, and for numerous other applications. Over the past half-century, since the creation of the idea of building RCC dams and trial structures, over the first RCC dams in the early 1980s, to date, successfully completed RCC dams over 200 m, RCC has gone a long and demanding journey from the idea to the generally accepted method of construction. The first part of this paper presents the introduction about RCC, a short history of RCC dam construction and their project philosophy. In the central part of this paper 10 specially separated RCC dams projects are presented, as well as reviews of the planned and built RCC dams in B&H and the region. The importance of character design in films and other media may have an indirect impact on future concept arts, ideas and technological advancement. Based on a story, a conceptual artist would create many, even hundreds of different designs before reaching the final product of characters, environments, vehicles, creatures and more. From these final works we get iconic figures, futuristic weapons and new worlds on the big screen that serve our entertainment purposes and hint at what the future might hold. The purpose of this paper is to bridge the idea on how conceptual art can have an impact on science, our everyday lives and even the entire world. By analysing Darth Vader in Star Wars films as the core subject, one of the most iconic villains in the history of cinema, the research will focus on the pre-production process, and how his final design can be influential to advanced technological research on prosthetic limbs, breathing apparatus and more. The process of concept art as well as the understanding of Character Archetypes will also be presented. Other well-known characters from three different platforms (film, computer games and animation) will be used as comparisons to Darth Vader in terms of similarity regarding his type of injuries and the modifications made to their bodies that could one day become an invention and thus again relate to the importance of character design. Nowadays, ship's engine room is fire protected by automatic fire fighting systems, usually controlled from a place located outside the engine room. In order to activate the water mist extinguishing system automatically, at least two different fire detectors have to be activated. One of these detectors is a flame detector that is not hampered by various air flows caused by ventilation or draft and is rapidly activated and the other is smoke detector which is hampered by these flows causing its activation to be delayed. As a consequence, the automatic water mist extinguishing system is also delayed, allowing for fire expansion and its transfer to surrounding rooms. In addition to reliability of the ship's fire detection system as one of the crucial safety features for the ship, cargo, crew and passengers, using a systematic approach in this research the emphasis is placed on the application of new methods in smoke detection such as the computer image processing and analysis, in order to achieve this goal. This paper describes the research carried out on board ship using the existing marine CCTV systems in early stages of smoke detection inside ship's engine room, which could be seen as a significant contribution to accelerated suppression of unwanted consequences. Supercritical fluids have a great potential for a wide variety of processes. They are used in energy processes, as the reaction solvent, the promoters of mass and heat transfer, separation agents and working fluids in the process by biofuel. Although CO2 is still one of the most used supercritical gases, for special purposes propane or even fluorinated-chlorinated fluids have also been tested. There are numerous cases where the supercritical fluids are used as methanol, a mixture of methanol and acetic acid, methyl - acetate, dimethyl carbonate. Decaffeination of tea and coffee, hop extraction or removal of pesticides from rice by using supercritical fluids have the application at industrial scale. The main interest is still for the extraction of natural raw materials producing food ingredients, nutraceuticals and phytopharmaceuticals. Supercritical processes were also tested such as the decontamination of soils, the removal of residual solvents from pharmaceutical products, the extraction of flame retar-dants from electronic waste. An increasing interest obviously exists for impregnation purposes based on supercritical fluids behaviour, as well as for the dying of fibres and textiles. The production of fine particles in the micron and submicron range, mainly for pharmaceutical products is another important application of supercritical fluids. Completely new products can be produced, which is not possible under normal conditions. Supercritical fluid technology has always had to compete with the widespread opinion that these processes are very expensive due to very high investment costs in comparison with classical low-pressure equipment. Thus, the opinion is that these processes should be restricted to high-added value products. A cost estimation for different plant sizes and different applications was also analyzed in this paper. Industrialization of agricultural production and depopulation of areas that are recognized by traditional products, reached its peak during the last few decades. This represents a significant risk that the technology of traditional agricultural products, especially cheeses, can go into oblivion. Njeguši cheese is one of the famous Montenegrin traditional dairy products which originates from the mountain Lovćen and its peripheral areas. Produced by traditional technology, it belongs to a group of full fat, hard cheeses. Owing to its characteristic, spicy taste and pleasant odour, Njeguši cheese can be compared with some of the most famous hard cheeses. Originally it is made from ewe’s milk, but also, cow's, goat's and their mixture in different proportions, are increasingly used, which may be the treat to the originality of Njeguši cheese. The present study offers a description of original Njeguši cheese technology, followed by analysis of the chemical quality of ewe’s milk, cheese and whey. Thereat milk, cheese and whey samples were taken from 5 households located at the place of cheese origin - the Njeguši village. Chemical quality of ewe’s milk, cheese and whey was determined by method of FTIR spectrophotometry. Milk fat in the dry matter and moisture in cheese non-fat basis were mathematically calculated. The average content of milk fat in ewe’s milk was 4.92 %, proteins 4.59 %, lactose 4.14 % and total solids non-fat 9.46 %. Accordingly, the analysed cheeses belonged to full fat, semi-hard cheese due to 51.73 % fat in total solids and 60.07 % moisture in non-fat basis. The only deviation from original technology was shortening of the ripening period. Apart from the main objective - the preservation of the original technology, this study could significantly contribute to the process of protection of origin of Njeguši cheese, because the technology of cheese fulfilled the requirements listed in the National Law on the protection of designations of origin. The work was conducted to investigate the manner of improving the technology of intermediate level maintenance of radio-relay devices. The Improved model of maintenance techniques will be applied in practice during corrective maintenance of radio-relay devices. The aim of this study was to explore how and to what extent technological advancements and new communication patterns affect the everyday inter personal communication and ultimately on desocialization of an individual and society in general. In the empirical part of the paper the aim was to verify the assumptions of the methodological framework on the Bosnian and Herzegovinian beneficiaries of modern information and communication technologies and the Internet, for which purpose survey on a sample of 402 respondents was realized. Research results confirmed the hypothesis on which this work was based, so it can be concluded that use of information and communication technologies and social networks is correlated with reduced quality of interpersonal communication and desocialization of the individual or society. Foreign direct investments refer to direct inflow of investments in a country's economy, and as such they are not a mere transfer of capital from one country to another, but rather an investment package containing new technologies, managerial knowledge and new markets. Foreign direct investments are motivated by economic interests, primarily by profit. In the past two decades, we have witnessed a huge expansion of foreign direct investments, which coincided with globalization. It is difficult to distinguish whether globalization is a result of expansion of foreign direct investments or vice versa, however the synergy between these two occurrences is unquestionable. In some previous years, the so-called „greenfield" investments used to prevail, however nowadays the more significant foreign direct investments are done by mergers and acquisitions (M&A). This paper covers three research activities conducted in different time frames, at a sample bigger than 20 countries. The research showed significant positive influence of foreign direct investments to the GDP, and the influence was bigger in the more open economies. Not all forms of foreign direct investments have equal effect on economic growth, and the growth is conditioned by the available human capital in the host country. The effects are negative in countries with low human capital. Growth rates in developing countries are partially explained by the level of technology development. The foreign direct investments of multinational corporations are considered to be the main channel to access advanced technologies for developing countries. The multinational corporations possess the more advanced knowledge that enables them to introduce new capital goods at a lower price. The application of advanced technologies, however, requires the sufficient amount of human capital in a host country's economy. Damages and losses caused by fire on ships, in the last decade, have accelerated the development of new techniques, technologies and innovation, in order to increase the safety and reliability of the fire detection system. At the same time, by increasing the demand for enhanced technology for early fire detection and its prevention, advanced detection systems are being developed, whose control algorithms have the task of intelligently processing and distinguishing the real smoke or flames signals from the false ones, or real alert from the false one. By using the service that new technology provides, ship owner aims to better protect the crew, ship's inventory, and to reduce the potential costs, that may occur due to accidents caused by fire. With an overview of the latest techniques and technologies for early fire detection on ships, this paper presents improvement of characteristics of the new systems and components of detection systems, and their abilities, benefits, and applications are being analysed. An oven for baking bread in field conditions is assigned to units that are by their nature relatively stationary and whose size does not require a movable bakery. It is intended for baking bread in our units located in international missions with supply difficulties, since our units have a habit od consuming bread instead of biscuits. Sirice 2000, car manufacturing industry turned increasingly towards spectacular and expressionistic architectures, targeting the confirmed presence in global and local (at city level) public space. Geospatial science and technology have an important role in the development of sustainable future, integrating renewable energy sources, planning and building smart cities and monitoring environmental changes. One of the most useful tools in geospatial technology which is used to implement all of the above for the purpose of development a sustainable future is GIS. In this paper, previous theoretical knowledge and practical applications are shown, as well as the development plans for the future. Some concrete examples of current GIS implementation for the purpose of development of smart cities are shown in the examples of the city of Edinburgh in Scotland and Kristiansand in Norway, using comparative analysis, environmental monitoring in the example of Ringkøbing Fiord in Denmark and the integration of RES in the example of Boston and South Dakota in the USA. In 2013 we continued a series of experiments with firing clay vessels by methods that may have been used in prehistory. The kiln we built in 2012 was destroyed during the very wet winter of 2012/2013, and during the summer we built it anew with certain structural changes that reduced the time of firing and the quantity of fuel. We observed certain deficiencies that we will try to eliminate in the next experiments. When the new kiln was fired we fired also vessels in a reduction atmosphere. Vessels were fired together with fuel in a pit 60 cm deep and 60 cm in diameter. On the bottom of the pit we placed tiles, over which we placed straw and dry branches. On this layer of fuel we placed five vessels that we then covered with sawdust, straw and brushwood. Due to unfavourable weather conditions we interrupted the experiment after 4 hours, when the temperature reached 480°C. Even though the vessels were not completely fired, their walls turned black on the surface and in the cross-section. Two vessels were damaged during firing, but in order to carry out a successful procedure and obtain proper results, it is necessary to repeat the experiment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper gives the results of work on melting, pouring, forging and heat treatment of 415-ton 45H3M1F steel ingots as semiproducts for manufacturing large backup rolls at the request of «Severstal» Company. For the production of rollers, a new grade of steel based on 0.45%C and 3%Cr, additionally alloyed by Mo and V, was developed in PJSC «Energomashspetsstal» and applied in industry. Steel of bainite class provides the best combination of strength and plasticity properties. Metal was prepared by melting 7 heats in arc steel-melting furnaces with the capacity of 100 and 50 tons with subsequent out-of-furnace treatment on ladle - furnace and ladle - degassing units. The pouring of steel was carried out from four steel-pouring ladles into a vertical mould under vacuum through a tundish ladle with the protection of stream by argon. The forging of ingots was conducted on the automated 150MN forging system. The obtained billets were exposed to primary heat treatment which consisted of heating for recrystallization, isothermal soaking, in order to provide the removal of residual stresses, additional dehydrogenization to give the material lower hardness and controlled cooling for the prevention of snowflake formation. Heating of ingots for forging and preliminary heat treatment was carried out in heat treatment furnaces with the carrying capacity of up to 500 tons. For the heat treatment of the backup roll, a horizontal sprayer unit was applied. The tooling of the backup roll was executed on a lathe with one pace-plate and the final mechanical treatment was conducted on the machine-tool of Hercules NWD 1500*18000 CNC. Finished products with 225-ton mass of the following dimensions: a barrel with a diameter and a length of 2,360 mm and 4,800 mm, respectively, at a general length of 10,650 mm were obtained. As part of the project Technological and social aspects of Bronze Age ceramic production, the Centre for Experimental Archaeology, in co-operation with the Institute of Archaeology, conducted a series of experiments in 2012, aimed at reconstructing the technological process of producing Bronze Age ceramic vessels. The project was developed based on Bronze Age material remains from the site Kurilovec-Belinščica (south of Velika Gorica). The goal was to experimentally test the technological process of producing ceramic vessels, that is, to reconstruct the way in which the raw material was acquired and prepared and the techniques of designing and firing the vessels. Replicas of Bronze Age vessels were made from clay gathered in the immediate vicinity of the site, and the recipe for the mixture was tested by means of test tablets. A total of 17 vessels were made, some of them fired in a pit and the others in a horizontal kiln. The kiln was reconstructed based on the remains of the dug-in feature from the Kurilovec-Belinščica site. The research paper studies enhancement of study process for improvement of garment manufacturing professional skills at Riga Technical University, Institute of Technology and Design of Textile Materials. To improve the study process and its outcomes, it was decided to allow students to participate in annual student fashion show not only to elaborate their diploma papers elaboration, but also to achieve the results of the study program. It requires developing ready-made garments during laboratory works and infield internship at such a level that they are suitable for fashion show. When designing the collection, basic design principles are acquired under real conditions of collection formation for clothing market. In such a way students have a possibility to prove their professional skills, enjoy the public interest, get confidence about their skills, and to succeed in their chosen career. The aim of such changes in the study process is to motivate students to engage in setting the learning objectives and to show more interest in achieving the stated learning objectives. The public presentation of the collections is a psychological factor that noticeably increases the students' responsibility for the result of their work. Article discusses hegemony of the United Status of America and possibilities of continuation of American domination trough out 21st century. The author briefly explains genesis of unipolar world in geopolitical sense as well as foundations of American domination and power. The author shows some elements in globalized world that could become potential challenges for American domination in 21.st century and possible moves of some of the current and future challengers for the title of regional or global power. The author is of a view that American occupation of Iraq signals new direction in American foreign policy which could be proved wrong. Also the author tries to define some of the possible challenges for America and the world in 21st century for which mare hegemony or supremacy does not represent viable option. The author believes that International cooperation will prove itself to be Key to success in meeting those challenges. Authors like Brzezinski and Friedman are of a view that the reason for stability of world order is American strength while this article argues that the reason lies in interdependency of actors in the current world order. The author tries to show that that although it seems that American hegemony is in decline, there is still more chance that current world order will survive with America at the helm. Military, economic or political domination alone is not enough for a country to reach hegemony rather it is combination of those factors. Only America possesses them all on world stage. An autoimmune disease occurs when the body's immune system begins to attack its own antigens. A hallmark is the production of high-affinity autoantibodies. Different techniques have been used to develop specific tests for autoantibody detection including immunodiffusion, immunoblotting techniques, immunofluorescence, enzyme immunoassays and recently flow cytometry for multiplex bead-based assays. Due to a variability in assays that has led to confusion in results it is inevitable to conduct appropriate Standardization for techniques and methods. For diagnostics tests based on an antigen-autoantibody reaction, there are no reference methods, no exact value of the standard and serum samples are heterogeneous and differ from the standard. Clinical diagnostic companies often use a well respected commercial test as a reference method and large differences in test calibration lead to inadequate interpretation of test results. The laboratory may have dilemmas about techniques that are relevant and reliable to detect all clinically significant autoantibodies. At the same time, the applied method should be a tool for high throughput, efficient, easy to use and inexpensive. Standardization of autoantibody assay, whether „old‟ or „new‟, is critical to their use in the clinic to predict diagnosis and treat a very diverse group of autoimmune disorders. The paper describes the Trapist cheese production trials in the “Mlekoprodukt” Dairy in Zrenjanin, Serbia. The cheese-making milk was produced on the “Agroklek” Dairy Farm, and Trapist cheese was manufactured using Trapist technology. In the trials two types of mesophilic starter culture and two types of rennet (animal and microbial) were used. The obtained cheese underwent two different ripening processes: with applied protective coating, and in a vacuum foil. The cheese chemical composition was analysed after 60 and 90 days of ripening. After that its sensory characteristics were also evaluated. The cheese analysis established that dry matter content - fat, ash, protein, total nitrogen, soluble and insoluble nitrogen, pH value, and coefficient of ripening in cheese with protective coating were higher when compared with the cheese packed in a vacuum foil during ripening. The analysis also established that the content of fat in dry matter in cheese, and the contents of water in fat-free matter, sodium-chloride, calcium, and acid based titration for the cheese with the applied protective coating were lower when compared with the relevant contents in cheeses in a vacuum foil during ripening. Trapist cheese manufactured using the FD-DVS CH-N 11 (CHR HANSEN, Denmark) starter culture, and Caglificio Clerici (Italy) animal rennet, achieved the highest quality grade. Ten-year-long investigations of the Starčevo culture settlement at Galovo in Slavonski Brod yielded a large quantity of stone finds, which, in addition to ceramic finds make up the bulk of the movable inventory. This paper presents the stone finds discovered in the 2007 investigations in pit house SU 291. Taking into consideration the quantity of chipped stone artifacts, particularly the many cores as well as flakes and blades with cortex, it can be assumed that the structure served as a working pit house. The focus is placed on the chipped stone industry, with the presentation of the technological and typological analysis of the artifacts. The pit house yielded four fragments of polished stone tools, a whetstone for bone awls and numerous amorphous fragments of grindstone. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Vegetables comprise a fairly large number of crop species differing phenotypically and genotypically as well as in how they are grown and used. The main task of vegetable production is in creased production of quality vegetables. In this context, breeding is of special importance as the basis for the development of new and improved cultivars and hybrids. Breeding of vegetables has always had as its goal the development of cultivars with in creased genetic potentials for yield for the purpose of increasing total vegetable production and the quality of human nutrition. In the last few decades, new techniques have been added to the list of traditional methods of breeding and developing new vegetable cultivars. The new methods of vegetable selection have focused on resolving the is sues of early maturity, heterosis, inheritance of certain traits, resistance to diseases and pests, and so on. The vegetable cultivars developed at the Institute have been designed not only to have a high genetic potential for yield but also to be able to satisfy the requirements of the discerning vegetable market in terms of appearance and taste as well as to be well-adapted to the domestic agroecological conditions. The Institute's vegetable program has released on the domestic and foreign markets a range of cultivars in tended for fresh use, processing and canning that can be successfully grown year round both in doors and out doors. Evropa se sooča s štirimi glavnimi zdravstvenimi izzivi: 1. naraščajočimi in potencialno nevzdržnimi stroški zdravja in oskrbe, predvsem zaradi vse večje razširjenosti kroničnih bolezni ter staranja prebivalstva, ki zahteva bolj raznoliko oskrbo; 2. vplivi zunanjih okoljskih dejavnikov na zdravje; 3. povečanim tveganjem za nalezljive bolezni; 4. neenakostjo v zdravju in dostopu do zdravstvene oskrbe. Zato mora Evropa vlagati v raziskave, tehnologijo in inovacije za razvoj pametnih, prilagodljivih in trajnostnih rešitev ter sodelovati z drugimi svetovnimi akterji. Eden izmed načinov, kako zagotoviti razvoj v smeri rešitev, je v sklopu razpisanih programov, npr. Digitalna transformacija v zdravstvu in negi. Cilj razpisa je podpirati upravljanje zdravja in dobrega počutja, obenem pa krepiti sodelovanje državljanov in lažjo preobrazbo zdravstvenih storitev v bolj digitalizirane modele oskrbe, osredotočene na posameznike in skupnost. S tem bosta omogočena boljši dostop do zdravstvene oskrbe in trajnost sistemov zdravstva in oskrbe. Tako konzorciji slovenskih deležnikov kot slovenski deležniki, povezani v mednarodne konzorcije, lahko prispevajo k povečanju potenciala digitalne ekonomije v EU v sektorju zdravstva in zdravstvene oskrbe s ciljem trajnostnega razvoja v korist družbe, okolja in državljanov.
