Vaccination is a crucial form of primary prevention, and it is important to understand the factors that influence parents' decisions to vaccinate their children. The current study examines the utility of the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and anticipated affect for explaining parents' intentions to vaccinate their children against COVID-19. Parents (N = 843) living in the United States completed an online survey. The TPB variables explained 65% of the variability in parents' intentions. In addition to all three of the TPB antecedents predicting vaccine intentions, both anticipated regret of not vaccinating and anticipated positive emotions of vaccinating were associated with parent intentions. Contrary to predictions, subjective norms were a stronger predictor of intentions when perceived behavioural control was lower compared to higher. These findings help further our understanding of parent-for-child vaccine decisions in the context of novel health threats and inform intervention efforts aimed at encouraging this behaviour. Road crash injuries have emerged as a significant public health issue in many low-and middle-income countries in recent years. Annually, more than 1.35 million people lose their lives due to road crashes, making it one of the leading causes of death worldwide. In India, road crash injuries have increasingly become a major concern for motorized two-wheeler riders. It is important to understand risky riding behaviours to develop accurate and evidence-based risk reduction programmes that fit the target population well. The current study aimed to identify the psychosocial determinants of refraining from risky riding behaviour in young, motorized two-wheeler riders. A quantitative survey based on the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) complemented with questions measuring routine behaviours was conducted among 238 young riders aged 18–25 riding motorized two-wheelers in Manipal, a locality of Udupi district in Karnataka province of Southwestern India. The study tool assessed four risky riding behaviours: (1) speeding, (2) helmet non-use, (3) performing stunts, and (4) using mobile phones while riding. The results of the study indicated that the intention to refrain from risky riding behaviours can be explained by important psychosocial determinants of human behaviour, including attitude, social norms, and perceived behavioural control and their underlying belief systems with regard to perceived benefits and costs, perceptions of other's behaviours and approval, and expressions of personal control that inform these psychosocial determinants. In addition, the extent to which participants automatically behaved in risky riding practices in the past did not prove to be a strong predictor of future intentions to refrain from risky riding. It is concluded that the study resulted in an in-depth understanding of the psychosocial determinants of risky riding behaviour. Population‐based colorectal cancer screening programs decrease mortality, but the participation rates are still unsatisfactory. Drawing from relevant psychosocial literature, this study aims to test a widely integrated theory of planned behaviour model applied to colorectal cancer screening attendance. The model considered, at the same time, additional proximal predictors (anticipated regret and self‐identity) and distal (via attitude) predictors (trust in institutions and perceived risk in their affective and cognitive facets) of intention. On top, to bridge the intention–behaviour gap, the role of two additional mediators (action and coping planning) was explored. In May‐June 2022, 435 adults residing in Campania (Italy) joined a survey assessing variables of interest. Structural equation model results showed that both action and coping planning, which were predicted by intention, significantly predicted attendance. Intention was predicted by attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, anticipated regret and self‐identity. Attitude was predicted by trust in institutions and affective perceived risk. A parallel mediation analysis confirmed the role of both action and coping planning as full mediators in the intention–behaviour relation. Purpose: This study uses the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) to explore presenteeism, where individuals work despite being ill. The research seeks to understand how attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control are associated with presenteeism behaviours. Methods: A longitudinal design was employed, involving 2814 employees from 16 companies. Data were collected using a survey on two measurement points, which included validated scales and vignettes to assess attitudes toward presenteeism. The data were analysed using cluster analysis and a linear mixed effects regression to evaluate the TPB model. Results: Three clusters of attitudes toward presenteeism were identified through cluster analysis. The model explained 27.8% of the variance in the fixed effects and 52.6% in the combined fixed and random effects. The regression model found associations between presenteeism and factors such as quantitative demands, work-privacy conflict, and leadership culture. Attitudes towards presenteeism were a strong predictor, with specific clusters showing differing propensities to work while ill. Conclusion: The study confirms the suitability of the TPB in explaining presenteeism. It highlights the importance of individual attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control in shaping presenteeism. To address the prominent "value‐action gap" within pro‐environmental behaviour, this novel, cross‐sectional study investigated relationships between household food wasting and pro‐environmentalism. Research was undertaken in 11 neighbourhoods across London, Ontario, Canada, including a net‐zero energy neighbourhood. A direct measurement methodology was used to measure household food waste, and a survey was created to measure knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours related to food wasting. Households in the net‐zero energy neighbourhood sent between 2.59 kg and 2.80 kg of food waste to landfill per week, of which 68% was classified as avoidable and the remaining 32% as unavoidable. Households in this neighbourhood sent less total (p < 0.001) and unavoidable (p < 0.001) food waste to landfill than households in "regular" neighbourhoods within the same city. While participants in the net‐zero neighbourhood had strong, self‐reported pro‐environmental worldviews, pro‐environmentalism was not found to be stronger in this neighbourhood compared to the rest of the city. The presence of stronger, self‐reported pro‐environmental worldviews was associated with a decrease in unavoidable food waste generation (p < 0.01). As the first study of its kind, further research is needed to verify the role of pro‐environmentalism in household food wasting in Canada and beyond. Objective: To compare the utility of Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) and the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) for understanding diversity in adherence to COVID-19 behavioural guidelines. Methods and measures: A representative sample (N = 600) completed two online questionnaires: One that included measurements of PMT and TPB components that predict behaviour, and another (after one week) consisting of adherence to COVID-19 behavioural guidelines. TPB was represented by a single model, while PMT was represented by three models: Model 1, which did not include a measure of protection motivation; Model 2, which included protection motivation – represented by behavioural intentions; and Model 3, which was similar to Model 2 and included a direct link from self-efficacy to behaviour. Results: The TPB model displayed the best fit-to-complexity ratio (i.e. information criterion), and its capacity to explain adherence was similar to PMT Models 1 and 2, but lower than Model 3. Conclusion: The findings highlight the need to reach a consensus regarding the definition and measurement of protection motivation. While the TPB model exhibited superior fit-to-complexity ratio, variance was better explained when self-efficacy was included, and interventions may benefit from targeting different constructs depending on the context. Purpose: Patient hesitancy to use MC due to the fear of negative social implications leads to intentional non-adherence and compromises therapeutic outcomes. Hence, we aimed to determine the rate of patient adherence to MC and explore factors influencing patient MC use. Methods: Demographic and quantitative data related to MC usage were extracted from medical records for patients prescribed MC at a single cancer centre in metropolitan Sydney. Qualitative data was generated from semi-structured interviews. Interview guides were developed based on the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TBP) domains (i.e. Attitudes, Subjective Norms, Behavioural Intention and Perceived Behavioural Control) to elucidate themes influencing MC use. A mixed method approach involving triangulation of quantitative and qualitative methods was used for data analysis. Results: Twenty patients were included in the study, and the majority of patients showed adherence (n = 14, 70%). The MC formulation used (p =.018), symptom relief (p =.001) and side effects experienced (p =.007) significantly influenced MC adherence. In addition to side effects experienced, findings for barriers to adherence were convergent or complementary for other medication-related factors, including the inconvenience of MC co-administration with food, cost and unpleasant taste. Conclusions: MC adherence is influenced by its effectiveness for symptom relief whereby appropriate MC formulation selection is crucial and should be determined by the indication (or symptom clusters). Background: Dual diagnosis is a global health concern. This descriptive research assessed mental health nurses' attitudes towards consumers with dual diagnosis in Australian mental health settings. The research question was: What is the attitude of mental health nurses towards consumers with co‐existing mental health and drug and alcohol problems? Materials and Methods: This cross‐sectional survey included 103 mental health nurses who work with consumers with dual diagnosis. Participants were recruited from various mental health settings through convenience sampling. The Comorbidity Problems Perceptions Questionnaire was used to assess attitudes. Descriptive data and multiple regression analyses were conducted. We utilized the consensus‐based checklist for reporting results of this study. Results: Mental health nurses positively perceived consumers with dual diagnosis. Factors associated with a positive attitude were a higher level of work experience, feeling that one's role is adequate, perceiving one's role as legitimate, receiving increased support in one's position, having high work motivation, possessing high task‐specific self‐esteem and experiencing higher levels of work satisfaction. Work experience predicted role adequacy. Position predicted role support. The work sector predicted role‐related self‐esteem. Conclusions: As mental health nurses gain work experience; they develop positive attitudes that boost their self‐esteem and sense of importance towards consumers with dual diagnosis. This constructive mindset also positively affects their work motivation and job satisfaction towards consumers with dual diagnosis. Conducting interventional studies is necessary to examine how clinical experiences, work environments, and job positions can impact attitudes, aiming to improve mental health nursing interventions towards consumers with dual diagnosis. Implications to Practice: The study found that mental health nurses' positive attitudes towards consumers with dual‐diagnosis are influenced by their experience and knowledge. Moreover, mental health nurses who feel supported, motivated and confident in their roles are more likely to provide high‐quality care to consumers with dual diagnosis. Mental health nurses could provide better care and support if they took a proactive approach and addressed the challenges associated with this consumer population. To be successful in their roles, mental health nurses require access to resources and support from healthcare organizations. As a result, their job satisfaction and attitudes towards consumers with dual diagnosis will be enhanced. In this way, consumers as well as healthcare organizations will benefit. Purpose: Drawing on the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TBP) and Social Cognitive Theory (SCT), this study delves into how, in entrepreneurship-unfriendly environments, university students' entrepreneurial intention (EI) is shaped, focusing particularly on the role of entrepreneurship education (EE) and an entrepreneurial family context (EFC). Design/methodology/approach: A sample of 688 students at a Spanish university was used for testing our hypotheses using GUESSS project data, through PLS-SEM regression and multigroup analysis (entrepreneurship course vs non-course students). Findings: Positive and significant impacts of entrepreneurial attitude (EA) and entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) on EI, and of subjective norms (SN) on EA and ESE, were found in both groups. Conversely, the impacts of an EFC on EA, SN and EI were significant only for course students, and the impact of SN on EI was significant only for non-course students. The impact of EFC on ESE was not significant for either group. Originality/value: This investigation delves into how the TPB components shape university students' EI in entrepreneurship-unfriendly contexts, and offers an original multigroup analysis to explore the role of EE in such dynamics. A novel contribution of this study is the finding that EE is a relevant catalyser for making entrepreneurial parents become an effective trigger for entrepreneurship. Conversely, EE was, unexpectedly, deemed irrelevant or counter-productive for some aspects of entrepreneurial dynamics. There is a global trend in the increased adoption of e‐assessment in school classrooms to enhance learning. Teachers, as classroom‐based assessment designers and implementers, play a vital role in such assessment change. However, little is known about school teachers' classroom‐based e‐assessment practices and the underlying reasons. To address this research gap, this study identified the factors influencing Hong Kong primary school teachers' e‐assessment practices underpinned by the theory of planned behaviour (TPB). A large‐scale survey was issued to 878 teachers via Qualtrics. Structural equation modelling (SEM) analysis shows that primary school teachers' intentions of using e‐assessment and perceived behavioural control of it were the two strongest factors predicting their e‐assessment practices in a general way. Specifically, teachers' intentions outweighed perceived behavioural control in determining their use of alternative e‐assessment tasks and e‐feedback, but this reversed for e‐tests/exercises. The impact of perceived behavioural control was consistent across the three types of e‐assessment practices. Furthermore, teachers' attitudes significantly influenced their intentions to use alternative e‐assessment tasks, while subject norms primarily predicted their intentions to use e‐feedback. Sustained motivation for Daily Mile participation at higher physical activity intensities may contribute to the attainment of children's daily moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) targets and long-term health benefits. However, individual variability exists in the amount of MVPA accumulated by children during the Daily Mile. The current study explored children's motivation for participating in the Daily Mile at MVPA intensity, using a theory of planned behaviour framework. Twenty-five children (mean age = 10.07 ± 0.60 years) from the Northwest of England were recruited to the study; 52% were female and 88% were White. Participants completed a questionnaire, with an open-ended response format, probing behavioural, control, and normative beliefs for participation in the Daily Mile at MVPA intensity. Template analysis was conducted independently by two researchers to identify main themes and subthemes. Findings showed that children possessed a range of behavioural, control, and normative beliefs about MVPA participation during the Daily Mile. Prominent behavioural beliefs included fitness enhancement, implications for concentration and learning, positive affective states, and pain and discomfort. Key control beliefs included weather, space and health restrictions, and distractions from peers. Finally, peers and parents were salient normative beliefs. Children possessed a range of modal beliefs in relation to MVPA participation during the Daily Mile. Implications of the findings, and methods for practitioners seeking to maximise the contribution of the Daily Mile to children's daily MVPA targets are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives Design/Method Results Conclusions The objective of this paper was to examine the predictors of breastfeeding exclusivity at two time‐points (6 and 26 weeks postpartum) using a dyadic mother–father extended model of the theory of planned behaviour.A sample of 1139 first‐time Australian mother–father dyads completed measures of each of the Theory of Planned Behaviour variables (intention, attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control) and additional psychosocial and behavioural predictors of breastfeeding, including problems with breastfeeding, psychological distress, childcare stress, partner support, and the frequency and time of first public breastfeed. Confirmatory factor analyses were used to determine the factor structures of the latent constructs to be included in the structural model. Structural equation modelling was used to model pathways between variables.Breastfeeding exclusivity at 6 weeks was significantly predicted by breastfeeding self‐efficacy at 6 weeks, intention to exclusively breastfeed, and frequency of public breastfeeding over the month prior, whereas childcare stress, partner support, time of first public breastfeed, and fathers' variables (attitudes and subjective norms) had little influence. Self‐efficacy mediated the relationship between mothers' attitudes, psychological distress, and breastfeeding problems with breastfeeding exclusivity at 6 weeks. Breastfeeding exclusivity at 26 weeks was significantly predicted by mothers' attitudes, self‐efficacy, breastfeeding exclusivity at 6 weeks, and frequency of public breastfeeding in the month prior.The results highlight the importance of breastfeeding self‐efficacy and confidence to breastfeed in public as crucial constructs in promoting long‐term exclusive breastfeeding and provides support for an extended theory of planned behaviour model in predicting breastfeeding outcomes. However, the factors associated with healthcare workers' psychological help‐seeking remain unclear. This study aims to identify the determinants of professional psychological help‐seeking intention among healthcare workers based on the theory of planned behaviour.Cross‐sectional study.A questionnaire, incorporating demographic information and latent variable items, was developed and employed on 403 healthcare workers through online and offline surveys from December 2022 to January 2023 using convenience sampling. Structural equation modelling was applied to test the research hypotheses.The model explained 46.9% of the variance in help‐seeking intention. Subjective norm had the strongest total association with help‐seeking intention. Attitude towards help‐seeking behaviour, subjective norm and perceived behavioural control were directly positively related to help‐seeking intention. Moreover, self‐stigma, public stigma, perceived barriers and perceived risk were indirectly associated with help‐seeking intention mediated by attitude towards the behaviour and perceived behavioural control. Of the four constructs, public stigma showed the most significant indirect relation to behavioural intention.Healthcare workers' intention to seek psychological support is associated with multiple interacting factors, particularly subjective norm and public stigma. INTRODUCTION: The newly developed Sexual Intention Questionnaire for Adolescent Boys (SIQ-AB) is an adapted tool from the Youth Sexual Intention Questionnaire (YSIQ) and Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), aimed to assess the influence of knowledge, permissive attitude, social norms, and self-efficacy toward the sexual intention. Thus, the aim of this study was to validate the newly developed SIQ-AB to determine Malaysian adolescent boys' sexual intention. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The SIQ-AB validity and reliability were assessed in this study. A total sample of 252 (Exploratory Factor Analysis, n=126 and Confirmatory Factor Analysis, n=126) among adolescent boys from Serian and Kota Samarahan, Sarawak were included in this study. The exploratory factor analysis (EFA) assessed three constructs of sexual intention which include attitude, self-efficacy, and social norms with a 4-point Likert scale with a total of 19 items. The confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) assessed the TPB constructs of sexual intention, attitude, self-efficacy, and social norms with a 4-point Likert scale with a total of 19 items adopted from YSI-Q. RESULTS: The four-factor structures were supported by the EFA which had 19 items which accounted for 65.79% of the variation overall. Four items were removed due to improper positioning or low factor loading (<0.50), even though EFA supported the four-factor structure. Using Cronbach's alpha, internal reliability varied between 0.77-0.89. Construct, convergent and composite validity of the SIQ-AB were further validated by the CFA with χ 2=199.0, df=129, p< 0.001, χ 2/df =1.54, CFI=0.98 and TLI=0.98 and RMSEA=0.06. CONCLUSIONS: The result proved that the SIQ-AB instrument is a valid and highly reliable tool to assess adolescent boys' sexual intention. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Issue Addressed: The implementation of quick response (QR) code check‐in compliance behaviour during the COVID‐19 pandemic featured in infection control strategies in several global jurisdictions, but was of particular interest in the Australian context, where it became mandated on a nationwide scale. We aimed to identify the salient beliefs people hold toward complying with the QR code check‐in using a Theory of Planned Behaviour belief‐based framework. Methods: An elicitation study using open‐ended questions (Queensland; N = 93, Mage = 4.77 years, SD = 13.62 and Victoria; N = 76, Mage = 44.92 years, SD = 11.63) and a prospective correlational study using a two‐wave online survey (Queensland; N = 290, Mage = 38.99, 46.6% female and Victoria; N = 290, Mage = 38.27, 53.4% female) were conducted. Results: Qualitative data were coded through an iterative content analysis, while quantitative data were analysed using linear multiple regression. Behavioural, normative and control beliefs were associated with intention and behaviour in both samples. Variation in beliefs across the states also were observed. Conclusions: Across both samples, beliefs in positive outcomes consistently exhibited stronger associations with both intention and behaviour than the reported negative outcomes. Distinct differences emerged between the two samples in terms of regression effects. So What?: Results indicate individual experience may affect the beliefs which guide behaviour, supporting the potential efficacy of health promotion campaigns tapping into context specific beliefs and experiences if QR code check‐in is to be implemented as an infection control measure in future. This study was conducted to understand pre-service and in-service teachers' intentions to use mobile-based assessment in classes by integrating theory of planned behaviour, technology acceptance model, and self-determination theory into one conceptual framework. Data were analysed using the structural equation model (SEM). Results of SEM from a sample of 522 pre-service teachers and 279 in-service teachers revealed that, compared to existing theories, the proposed model has a better acceptable level of explanatory power for intention to use mobile-based assessment. Results also showed that all the hypothesis relationship among constructs within the model was supported. In addition, the study identified the prominent mediating role of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and attitude and moderating impact of gender on intention to use mobile-based assessment. Although Blockchain technology has shown its usefulness, there exist limited studies and industrial applications. Presented research investigates factors influencing blockchain adoption. It reflects on how the perceived benefit of blockchain may influence the adoption and how organisational size may affect this process. This study integrates the framework of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and extends it with the perceived benefits of blockchain adoption while including firm size as moderator. Data collected were analysed with a PLS-SEM. Our results showed that a significant predictor of intention to use blockchain is perceived behavioural control. Moreover, it was found that perceived benefit significantly influenced perceived usefulness. The Indian automobile industry is witnessing a paradigm shift from fossil fuel to green energy. The current study employs an extended version of the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) to investigate the impact of attitudes, green nudges and perceived behavioural control on the behavioural intention (BI) for adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) by Indian consumers. Environmental concern is also added to the model to find its impact on actual buying behaviour (AB). Conclusive research is carried out, and data is collected through a structured questionnaire. 342 respondents were analysed using a two-step investigation approach: Partial least square-structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM), followed by an artificial neural network (ANN). Subsequently, two models are formed to determine the predictors of BI and AB. The findings suggest that all three factors positively impact BI and AB. Attitude plays the most significant role in BI (the most important predictor of AB). The study's findings also suggest that the extended TPB model is effective for forecasting customers' adoption intentions towards EVs. Moreover, this research adds to the existing literature on the intention and reluctance of consumers to embrace green technology. Therefore, understanding the tax compliance behaviour of small business owners is an important step towards improving compliance in this sector.The study employed semi-structured interviews to investigate the day-to-day, authentic tax compliance lived experiences of small business owners and tax practitioners in Gauteng, South Africa.Three important strategies emerged out of the interpretation of the findings. First, the government must make it easy for small businesses to comply. Second, the deterrence measures ought to be administered in a personalised and systematic manner. Thirdly, the government has a duty to make tax compliance appealing and socially acceptable to the majority of the small business owner community.The implementation of the three strategies may help improve the day-to-day experiences of small business owners regarding tax compliance, resulting in more voluntary compliance.The results of this study add to the body of knowledge in the area of small business taxation and illuminate opportunities for future research and debate on this topic. The production of vaccines for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has given hope to many countries that they can finally control a pandemic that has already killed millions of people around the world. Nevertheless, vaccine coverage must be wide to ensure the success of the global vaccination initiative. Using theory of planned behaviour (TPB), the current research aimed to assess the intent of the general Saudi Arabian public to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. A cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted during the first week of January 2021. A total of 487 participants completed an online questionnaire that assessed their intentions, attitudes, perceived norms and perceived behavioural control. The results showed that almost half of the study participants (47.43%) intended to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. All components of TPB predicted this intention, although perceived behavioural control was a negative predictor. The findings suggest that COVID-19 vaccine campaigns should continue to focus on improving public attitudes and perceived norms, which can help increase the number of people willing to undergo vaccination. Introduction: Healthcare institutions such as hospitals are one of the most common places to have vending machines. Vending machines in healthcare institutions are predominated by energy-dense, nutrient-poor foods with little or none healthy options. This study aims to examine the factors influenced consumers' intention to purchase healthful foods and beverages from vending machines in a healthcare institution by using an extended Theory of Planned Behaviour model with health consciousness as an additional construct. Materials and methods: This study was conducted in a healthcare institution in Selangor, Malaysia. An online self-administered questionnaire was used and data were analysed at p < 0.05. A total of 137 valid responses were analysed. Results: Regression analysis of this study revealed that the proposed TPB model was statistically significant (R2 = 0.633, Adj. R2 = 0.621, F(4, 132) = 56.807, p < 0.001). Attitude (ß = 0.229, p = 0.004), perceived behavioural control (ß = 0.484, p < 0.001), and health consciousness (ß = 0.148, p = 0.021) were the significant predictors of consumers' intention to purchase healthful foods and beverages from vending machines. Surprisingly, subjective norm (ß = 0.099, p = 0.150) was found to be not significant influencing the intention to purchase. Conclusion: The present study suggested that consumers' intention to purchase healthful foods and beverages from vending machines was influenced by their own attitude, perceived behavioural control and health consciousness, but not influenced by opinions of significant others. Future studies are required to further examine the effect of intention to purchase healthful foods and beverages on the actual behaviour (e.g., purchasing behaviour, consumption behaviour) and financial (e.g., sales and revenue of vending machines). Despite increasing rent price burdens throughout Europe, many eligible households for rental subsidies do not use them. Understanding determinants of low take‐up is crucial for evaluating program effectiveness and anticipating fiscal implications. To identify those determinants, we built an extended version of the theory of planned behaviour, incorporating dimensions from the claiming costs scale. In an online survey, participants comprising renting households likely eligible for the housing subsidy from Germany (n = 862) and Spain (n = 1032) completed measures of behavioural intention, rental cost burdens, theory of planned behaviour constructs (attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control, and past behaviour), and claiming costs constructs (information costs, process costs, and stigma). Results supported a multi‐group model, showing different paths for Germany and Spain. Several similar paths were identified for both countries, such as the indirect association of stigma with intention to apply for rental subsidies via attitude, the positive and strong association of subjective norms, and the positive association between perceived behavioural control and intention. The indirect relationship involving information costs was observed for Spain but not Germany, and rental cost burdens operated differently as well. These findings suggest that multiple dimensions, both psychological and policy‐related, should be considered when investigating claiming behaviours for rental subsidies, while emphasizing the need to acknowledge the unique characteristics of each country. Worry and rumination (Perseverative Cognition, PC) have been associated with health behaviours, but the underlying mechanisms are unknown. Given the role of physiological experiences on perceived behavioural control (PBC) and emotion regulation on intention-health behaviour relationships, we tested whether: PC prospectively predicts poorer health behaviours; PC moderates the relationship(s) between intentions/PBC and health behaviour, as well as whether the relationship between PC and health behaviour is mediated by intentions and PBC. In a prospective design, 650 participants (mean age = 38.21 years; 49% female) completed baseline measures of intentions, PBC and PC (worry and rumination) and 590 (mean age = 38.68 years; 50% female) completed follow-up (Time 2) measures of health behaviours (physical activity, sleep, sedentary activity, unhealthy snacking) 1-week later. Worry and rumination (at T1) predicted poorer sleep quality. Worry, but not rumination, moderated PBC-physical activity frequency relations. Consistent with mediation, the indirect paths from both worry and rumination, through PBC, to sleep quality and total sleep time were significant. PC is associated with poorer sleep quality and PBC can play a mediating role in such relationships. Future research should further consider the role that PBC plays in PC-health behaviour relations. This study investigates the obstacles encountered by female graduates in China's higher education system when considering entrepreneurship by employing the Theory of Planned Behaviour as an analytical framework. Although entrepreneurship is widely acknowledged as crucial for economic and personal growth, gender inequalities remain, with women being severely underrepresented. The primary objective of this study is to gain insight into the underlying reasons behind the reluctance of female university students, specifically in China, to pursue entrepreneurial ventures. In this study, we conducted 30 semi-structured interviews with female university students from different majors to identify the key barriers that discourage them from starting their businesses. The factors discovered are instrumental and affective attitudes towards entrepreneurship, subjective norms (family, friends, teachers, and others), and perceived behavioural control (encompassing past experiences, second-hand information, and anticipated obstacles). The results showed that a conservative familial atmosphere, risk-averse cultural norms, and limited access to helpful resources and experiences in universities are major obstacles. This study enriches the present knowledge by providing a detailed explanation of the gender-specific obstacles in entrepreneurship in the Chinese context. Conflicts arising from human activities and biodiversity value affect the conservation efficacy of protected areas. Resolving these conflicts requires conservation‐compatible livelihoods, such as through agroecology. Here, we built a comprehensive social–psychological framework to explore and understand farmers' intentions to adopt agroecological approaches in tea management in Wuyishan National Park, China.We extended the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) by integrating household livelihood assets (LAs) as a material precondition for the social–psychological decision‐making process. We proposed geographical location (GL) and livelihood strategy (LS) as moderating factors for this agroecology intention. We collected 369 valid household samples through structured interviews. We then used partial least square‐structural equation (PLS‐SEM) modelling to explore the determinants that affect tea farmers' agroecological intentions.Livelihood assets were a material foundation influencing the intention to adopt agroecology and were also mediated by three psychological constructs to take effect. Perceived behavioural control explained the largest proportion of the variance for intention and exerted the most significant mediation effects. Subjective norm was another vital independent predictor and exerted a positive influence on both perceived behavioural control and attitude. The direct and mediating impacts of attitude on the intention were weaker but showed that farmers' ecological rationality outweighed value rationality.Livelihood strategies measured by operational scale and livelihood diversity were able to moderate farmers' psychology. Subjective norm had positively significant influence on perceived behavioural control and attitude, indicating that social support to farmers enhanced their feeling of control over adopting agroecology and that important referent groups as sources of information helped farmers' attitude formation. Perceived behavioural control positively and significantly influences farmers' attitudes as well.Synthesis and applications. Our findings provide evidence of the necessity to optimise rural farmers' livelihood assets to enhance their confidence and control over agroecology. Resolving the conservation‐development dilemma in protected areas through agroecology should aim at comprehensive support that respects bioculture and improves farmers' ability. Background: Obesity in adolescence has increased in the last decades. Adolescents fail to meet the recommended guidelines for physical activity (PA) and healthy diet. Adolescents with a low socioeconomic status (SES) particularly seem to have fewer healthy lifestyle behaviours. The European Science Engagement to Empower aDolescentS (SEEDS) project used an extreme citizen science approach to develop and implement healthy lifestyle behaviour interventions in high schools. As part of this project, key stakeholders were invited to reflect on the intentions of adolescents to engage in healthy lifestyle behaviours. The aim of this study was to gain stakeholder insights into the barriers and facilitators to healthy lifestyle behaviours of adolescents from low SES areas and on the possible role of these stakeholders in facilitating healthy lifestyle behaviours. Methods: Six semi-structured focus groups were conducted in four European countries with 28 stakeholders from different settings (schools, community, and government), like teachers, policy advisors and youth workers. The theoretical framework of focus groups was based on the Theory of Planned Behaviour. The main questions of the focus groups were centred on PA and healthy diet. The focus groups were qualitatively analysed in NVivo using thematic analysis to identify topics and themes. Results: According to stakeholders, adolescents have sufficient understanding of the importance of PA and a healthy diet, but nevertheless engage in unhealthy behaviour. Parents were mentioned as important facilitators for engaging adolescents in healthy lifestyle behaviours. Stakeholders listed lack of knowledge, time, and financial resources as barriers for adolescents from low SES families to engage in healthy lifestyle behaviours. The school environment was listed as an important facilitator of adolescents’ healthy lifestyle changes, but stakeholders acknowledged that current school days, curriculum and buildings are not designed to promote healthy lifestyle behaviours. External support and collaboration with community and governmental stakeholders was seen as potentially beneficial to improve healthy lifestyle behaviours. Conclusions: This study shows the variety of barriers adolescents from low SES areas face, and the need for a broader collaboration between key stakeholders to facilitate healthy lifestyle behaviours. Schools are regarded specifically as important facilitators. Currently, the school environment entails various barriers. However, when addressing those, schools can increase opportunities for healthy lifestyle behaviours of adolescents from low SES areas. Young people, as a group, are not strongly incentivised to vaccinate against COVID-19, given how the disease affects them. To discover the factors which help increase people's intention to take the COVID-19 vaccine, using a variety of dimensions to measure Knowledge (K), Trust (T), the Health Belief Model (HBM), and the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) in Spanish university students as a collective. We analysed the proposed models using multiple-regression analysis, incorporating the variables of the constructs in a hierarchical manner, introducing them in the following order: TPB, K, T. HBM was excluded, given that no significant statistical relationship was found. The data used for the study are drawn from an anonymous questionnaire put to 3,542 students at the University of Salamanca (Spain). Our model accounts for 43.1% of the variance in vaccination intention. Neither severity nor susceptibility, which are fundamental constructs in the health belief model, have an impact on vaccination intention for this group of people. The Theory of Planned Behaviour accounts for 32.1% of the variance. Interesting mediating effects are discovered, indicating that knowledge lowers levels of trust in the Government, but increases trust in scientific experts. Both types of trust have a positive impact on vaccination intention. Messages based on the risk of contracting the disease do not appear to be effective incentives for this group of people to take up the vaccine. Information campaigns need to be transparent and rigorous. This does not mean that they need to go into great depth on a technical level; however, it is advisable that the information come from trustworthy scientific experts. Food-borne illnesses arise from food contaminated by pathogenic microorganisms, mycotoxins or chemical hazards and this is a growing public health concern worldwide. This study identified the correlates of intention to practise good food hygiene among street food vendors in the Kadjebi District, Ghana using the expanded Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). This study adopted a descriptive cross-sectional design to collect data using a structured questionnaire from a random sample of 275 participants. Logistic regression analyses were performed at the 0.05 level of significance. The overall intention to practice good food hygiene was 83.6%. Overall, perceived barrier [Adjusted Odds Ratio (AOR) =27.79 (C.I: 10.40 to 74.27); p < 0.001] was the significant correlate of intention to practice good food hygiene. Overall, perceived self-efficacy was not a significant correlate of intention to practice good food hygiene. However, respondents who believed that they were not equipped with the needed skills to practice good food hygiene were less likely to have a high intention to practice it [AOR = 0.05 (C.I: 0.01 to 0.19); p < 0.001]. There is the need for health promotion strategies in the Kadjebi District to minimise barriers to good food hygiene practices and to empower street food vendors with the requisite skills to practice good food hygiene. Introduction: Safe and ecologically friendly foods are as important as nutrient-dense foods, fostering healthy lifestyles while preserving the environment. Globally, there is a shift towards organically grown food, perceived as safer and more sustainable. Yet, organic food adoption remains limited among Malaysian adults. This study explores the influencing factors of organic food consumption using the psychological theory of planned behaviour (TPB). Materials and methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in 2020, involving 424 Malaysian adults who were recruited through Facebook Advertisements (Ads). The ads were designed to target respondents based on age (18 years and above), geographical location (six zones of Malaysia), and interest in organic food. An online questionnaire hosted on Google Forms was embedded in the ads for data collection. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and structural equation modeling (SEM). Results: The study revealed that 72% of intention was explained by attitude, encompassing concern for health, food safety, and the environment, followed by perceived behavioural control and subjective norm. Actual consumption was influenced by intention, but with a small effect size, explaining 16% of the total variance. Conclusion: The structural TPB model demonstrates that attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control significantly influence the consumption intention of organic food, subsequently predicting actual consumption. Using a perception survey of 782 residents of 227 French coastal communities, this study examines the underlying motives for the acceptability of property relocation policies in response to sea level rise. These policies are concerned with new land-use management methods that aim to reduce coastal vulnerability and are recommended for adaptation to climate change. The originality of the approach is to simultaneously analyze both the perception and acceptability of relocation policies and, through econometric models, compare the factors that facilitate or hinder their implementation. A wide variety of variables were tested to demonstrate the complexity of social and psychological determinants. The data show 52% of the sample have a negative perception of relocation. The results highlight social norms and perceived sense of control as the variables that could help increase acceptability of relocation. Therefore, efficiency and trust in the implementing institutions are important to increase acceptability of public policies. Low acceptability of relocation policies depends on individual perception of policy feasibility (e.g. level of costs), status of the individual as owner or tenant, level of education and amenities that may benefit the individual (e.g. sea view). Citizens who believe their opinions are not shared by others are more likely to oppose relocation. Quality of governance influences the acceptability of relocation measures to citizens, notably through the inclusion of risk considerations in urbanization strategies, the existence of positive consent to a specific tax system, and by recognition of the courage of elected representatives to implement these policies. By adopting the theory of planned behaviour, we identify opposing or contradictory attitudes and behaviours. These demonstrate the existence of a NIMBY phenomenon and the importance of the degree of perceived control over relocation as key to acceptance (behaviour), which may be disconnected perceptions about relocation. • Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) can help reduce speeding behaviour. • Understanding intention to voluntarily use ISA is key in the absence of mandated use. • Attitudes predicted intentions to turn on ISA and override ISA. • Behavioural beliefs about advantages of ISA underpinning attitudes were identified. • Interventions designed to encourage ISA use can target key beliefs. Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) could substantially decrease road traffic crashes and is becoming more common in vehicles in high income countries. Increasing ISA adoption and usage is key to realising the potential safety benefits. Therefore, identifying the predictors of intentions to use ISA is important to understanding how to encourage its use via road safety education during roll out. The current study used the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) to predict intentions to (i) turn ISA on and (ii) override ISA when turned on among 554 drivers who reported not having ISA currently installed in their vehicle. The TPB explained 76% and 59% of the variance in turning on and overriding intentions respectively. Attitudes were key predictors of both ISA behaviour intentions. Subjective norms predicted intentions to turn on but not override ISA while perceived behavioural control did not independently predict intentions towards either behaviour. Important beliefs included that ISA could reduce the risk of crashes and speeding penalties and fines, and that driving with ISA makes driving more relaxing. • People have cognitive and affective responses to stimuli during travel. • These responses are mediated by appraisal and are highly individualised. • Within-trip experiences affect travel satisfaction, attitudes, and mode choice. • Naturalistic research can elucidate the individuality of within-trip experiences. • Understanding individuality is needed for equitable active travel modal shift. Modest shifts from car use to active travel can result in substantial health, emissions, and economic improvements that result in cleaner, greener, and healthier cities. To achieve modal shift towards active travel, the transport field has long considered how psychosocial factors outlined by theories such as the theory of planned behaviour underpin travel mode choice. Recent models of travel behaviour detail how travel satisfaction – a person's cognitive and affective evaluations of their travel – influences mode-related attitudes which in turn influences desires and intentions to use a specific travel mode. In this conceptual paper, we introduce the concept of within-trip subjective experiences – cognitive and affective responses to individual events and stimuli during travel – and propose potential mechanisms for how within-trip experiences affect travel satisfaction and mode-related attitudes. Specifically, people have emotional and cognitive reactions to individual stimuli (e.g., near miss incident, pleasant scenery, heavy traffic) which are mediated by the process of appraisal. Over the course of a trip, the sum of these subjective reactions form the basis of their within-trip experience, which heavily shape perceptions of travel satisfaction and subsequently influence attitudes and intentions to use a specific mode. Furthermore, within-trip subjective experiences to stimuli potentially modify the beliefs that mode-related attitudes consist of, further highlighting the importance of considering within-trip experiences to individual stimuli for understanding travel behaviour and mode choice. The consideration of within-trip experiences highlights the individuality of peoples' responses to stimuli. Nowadays, climate change has been a topic of discussion for many people at various levels all over the world. With the increase in world temperature year by year, there are many reports of extreme weather, melting of the polar ice cap, and rising of the sea level that are affecting people in their daily lives. Since it is disrupting human life, efforts are being carried out by international bodies, governments, and various NGOs in mitigation and adaptation efforts of climate change impact by raising awareness on climate change issues. In Malaysia, such efforts are being carried out too, and many studies are conducted to analyse various aspects of climate change, including social science. In this study, youth are targeted as the respondents as they can play an important role in climate change mitigation, which makes analysing their level of awareness, perception, and attitude towards climate change needed. Therefore, using purposive sampling techniques, undergraduates at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) currently taking the WSU 101: Sustainable Issues, Challenges, and Prospects course are chosen as respondents. Using an online questionnaire, 234 out of 498 students participated in this study. In order to understand the intention and motivation of youth towards climate change, the Theory of Planned Behaviour is used, and three types of variables, which consist of independent variables (gender, age, education background, and knowledge), intervening variables (personal experience, self-interest, and intention), and dependent variables (awareness, perception, and behaviour), are used to analyse the relationship and factors. Using all the data collected, it was found that respondents in this study are aware of and have a good understanding of climate change. Moreover, it is also found that they are aware that climate change is affecting their lives, and there is a relationship between their demographic background, experiences, and behaviour or attitudes towards climate change. Since climate change impacts are affecting our livelihoods and youth, which represent almost half of Malaysia's current population, it can be an effective and efficient tool to promote climate change awareness for mitigation and adaptation programs. Thus, the findings of this study can be used as a baseline for climate change programs among youth, and this can be done by collecting responses from a larger youth population so that more comprehensive initiatives can be planned and implemented. There has been a shift to implement human rights-based approaches in acute mental health care due to increasing concerns around quality of care. National Health Service (NHS) Trusts have a legal duty to uphold a person's human rights, therefore it is important to understand what any barriers might be. Using psychological theory may help to develop this understanding. To test whether the theory of planned behaviour can be an effective model in understanding mental health professionals' intentions to work using a human rights-based approach. Participants were recruited from two NHS Trusts in the North West of England. A cross-sectional, survey design was used to examine mental health professionals' intentions to use human rights-based approaches. Multiple regression analyses were performed on the theory of planned behaviour constructs showing that attitude and subjective norm significantly predicted intention. Perceived behavioural control did not add any significant variance, nor any demographic variables. There could be factors outside of the individual clinician's control to fully work within a human rights-based framework on acute mental health wards. Based on the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) and the commitment-trust theory, this study examines the antecedents of Airbnb hosts' continuance intention by integrating TPB with trust towards Airbnb along with the moderating effect of the Superhost badge. A sample of 160 Vietnamese Airbnb hosts was collected through a web-based survey and data were analysed with PLS-SEM. Findings revealed that Airbnb hosts' attitude, perceived behavioural control and trust towards Airbnb significantly impact their intent to continue sharing on the platform. Indicator condition (IC)-guided HIV testing, i.e., testing when diagnosing a condition associated with HIV, is a feasible and cost-effective testing strategy to identify undiagnosed individuals. Assessing determinants for IC-guided testing may identify opportunities for improvement. A survey study based on the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) was conducted among 163 hospital physicians from five specialties in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Structural equation models were used to determine the association between the TPB domains (i.e., attitude, belief, norms, self-efficacy and behavioural control) and (1) the intention to test as a mediator for HIV testing behaviour (intentional model) and (2) actual HIV testing behaviour (direct model). Both models accounted for the effect of guideline recommendations. Behaviour scored lower than intention on a five-point scale (mean score of 2.8, SD = 1.6 versus 3.8, SD = 1.1; p<0.0001). The direct model had a better fit than the intentional model based on fit statistics. Discrepancies between the determinants most important for intention versus those for behaviour led to the following recommendations: interventions to improve IC-guided testing in hospitals should primarily focus on implementation of guideline recommendations, followed by improving physicians' attitude towards IC-guided HIV testing and self-efficacy, as these were the most important correlates of actual HIV testing behaviour. This longitudinal study applied the integrated model of self-determination theory (SDT) and the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) to explain COVID-19 preventive behaviours among parents of young children in the United States. The study adopted a two-wave longitudinal study design. Parents (N = 681) completed self-report questionnaires related to measures of SDT and the TPB constructs and behavioural adherence at baseline and after one month. We used standardised residual change scores to test the structural relationships of the integrated model. The parameter estimates of the model (CFI >.96, TLI >.86, RMSEA =.05, SRMR =.03) fit acceptably well to the data. Psychological need support was positively and significantly linked to autonomous and controlled motivation and amotivation. Autonomous motivation was positively and significantly correlated with TPB factors, and intention. Intention was a significant and positive predictor of behavioural adherence. The integrated model of SDT and the TPB appeared to be applicable to the explanation of COVID-19 prevention among the U.S. parents. Longitudinal data showed that a psychological need supportive social environment was related to favourable motivation, social cognition beliefs, intention and behavioural adherence to the preventive behaviours of parents protecting their young children from COVID-19. In response to calls by researchers to integrate two or more tested models in the research of important information systems issues and given the urgent need to curb the devastating effects of cyberharassment (CH), we have proposed and used an integrated individual-level research model to better understand the factors that affect CH. The proposed model combines widely researched and theory-based models: the Norm Activation Model (NAM) and the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB). A survey instrument was used to collect data from 231 university students. Of the seven paths investigated, six are statistically significant thereby establishing the fact that personal norms and attitude influence the intention to engage in CH, which influences the actual practice. The determinants of CH intention are Awareness of Consequences (AC); Ascription of Responsibility (AR), Attitude (ATT), and Perceived Behaviour Control (PBC); with Personal Norms (PN) mediating the effects of AC and AR on Behaviour Intention (BI). The study contributions include (a) combining two theory-based models to inform the understanding of aspects of CH; (b) highlighting the role of norm activation in intention to engage in CH, and (c) ATT is a crucial TPB factor in explaining CH intention. Background: Advanced chronic kidney disease (ACKD) is associated with a high risk of adverse cardiovascular and renal events and has a significant impact on quality of life and life expectancy. Several studies have identified areas for improvement in their management in primary care. Some professional and environmental factors can act as key barriers to appropriate care. Objective: To analyse attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control among primary care professionals related to the implementation of an evidence-based approach for individuals with ACKD in primary care. Methodology: This was a qualitative study using an interpretative phenomenological approach based on the theory of planned behaviour. Two aspects of the evidence-based approach were explored: the implementation of clinical practice guidelines and the utilisation of electronic kidney disease records within the scope of this study. Primary care nurses and physicians participated in a previous pilot interview and five focus groups. Subsequently, a thematic analysis of the gathered data was conducted. Findings: Thirty-three primary care professionals participated. The emerging themes included: experiences in the management of ACKD (highlighting a distinct profile of older, frail patients with comorbidities masking CKD and a CKD follow-up primarily focused on analytical monitoring and drug adjustment); factors in the professional environment influencing the use of scientific evidence (such as time constraints, excessive electronic health records, and unfamiliar reference guidelines); attitudes towards the application of recommendations on ACKD (recognising limitations of computer systems despite considering them as guidance); and capacities to implement evidence-based recommendations (acknowledging formative needs and challenges in coordinating care with nephrology services). Conclusions: Several psychological elements identified through the TBP hinder the adequate implementation of an evidence-based approach for individuals with CKD. Attitudes have been identified as factors modulating the use of standardised electronic records. Instead, subjective norms (influences from the professional environment) and perceived behavioral control (perception of capabilities) acted as barriers to the proper application of clinical practice guidelines and standardised records. The purpose of this qualitative study rooted in the theory of planned behaviour (TpB) was to investigate South Korean physical education (PE) teachers' and female secondary school students' beliefs about girls' physical activity (PA) participation. Particular focus was given to the curricular and pedagogical factors influencing their engagement. Participants of this study were six PE teachers and 12 female students (two from each teacher's PE programme, one identified as having low PA and the other high PA) in two public middle schools and four public high schools in South Korea. Data were collected through demographic questionnaires, a series of semi-structured interviews with each PE teacher and one with each female secondary school student, and non-participant observations (e.g. fieldnotes) of three lessons of each PE teacher. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis using TpB to guide the coding (e.g. attitude toward the behaviour, subjective norms, and perceived behavioural control). Findings indicated that the teachers assumed mixed-gender and traditional curriculum were core barriers, whereas the female students had more diverse and conflicting perspectives, but overall, expressed desire for more choice within the curriculum. Furthermore, in this model attitude made the greatest contribution to the prediction of intention. The results obtained from the two different modelling approaches showed that exposure and age did not have much effect on the models. Objective: Despite the usefulness of social norms for changing behaviour, injunctive norms (i.e., perceptions of what others approve) from significant others tend to be a weak predictor of physical activity (PA) engagement. A potential explanation is that injunctive norms encompass pressuring social influence that undermines autonomous PA engagement. This study examined whether injunctive norms from significant others undermine individuals' autonomy satisfaction during the pursuit of PA engagement, and whether this effect is moderated by the degree to which significant others offer concurrent autonomy support. Design: Online questionnaires. Measures: Participants' perceptions of injunctive norms and autonomy support from significant others, autonomy satisfaction, behaviour regulation, PA intentions, and weekly PA frequency were assessed at baseline (N = 497) and after two weeks (N = 351). Results: Autonomy support positively related to autonomy satisfaction, whereas injunctive norms were negatively related to autonomy satisfaction. Though the statistical significance of interaction effects was inconsistent across results, simple slopes suggested that the negative relationship between injunctive norms and autonomy satisfaction was attenuated at higher levels of autonomy support in models focusing on influence from parents and friends. A single theory cannot adequately resolve the research gap exists in green hotel literature concerning consumer attitude and behavior in determining whether social identity theory, value-belief-norm theory or theory of planned behavior contain inherent disadvantages in predicting green hotel selection. The latest studies identified integrating theories and developing a comprehensive psychological framework for studying green purchase behavior is necessary. Nevertheless, few studies have practically employed integrated theories to investigate this phenomenon. Collection of 355 questionnaires was followed by subsequent empirical testing of the postulated hypotheses, which revealed a positive correlation between variables within value-belief-norm theory. Altruistic and collectivistic values positively influenced pro-environmental identity, subsequently, subjective norm and anthropocentric attitude. Subjective norm positively influenced personal norm and intention while personal norm positively influenced anthropocentric attitude, subsequently, intention. Introduction: Despite the advantages of dose banding (DB) and numerous plans to adopt this practice, uptake of DB is still poor. As opinions of healthcare professionals were deemed essential in DB's acceptance, this study surveyed key stakeholders to determine the acceptance, facilitators, and barriers of DB in chemotherapy to improve its implementation. Methods: A cross-sectional study at the National Cancer Centre Singapore, involving physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff, was conducted in February 2022. The Theory of Planned Behaviour was adapted to design a survey questionnaire to obtain the acceptance, facilitators, and barriers of DB. Additional questions on maximum acceptable dose variance and essential criteria for selecting drugs for DB were included. Results: A total of 93 participants responded, with a mean 9.75 ± 7.37 years of clinical experience. Less than half have heard of DB while few had prior experience. Drug cost was the top selection criteria for DB, followed by toxicity, therapeutic index, frequency of use and drug wastage. Acceptance rate of DB was 41.9%, with majority agreeing to use DB in various drugs but to determine patient suitability before usage. Being greatly affected by subjective norms, having a positive outlook for DB's impacts, and no effect on toxicity significantly influenced acceptance. Conclusion: Prior to implementing DB at the institutional level, educational training addressing concerns over toxicity, and providing technological support can help improve acceptance. The study applied the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) to explore motorcycle riders' underlying behavioural, normative, and control beliefs towards Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS). Each belief was explored in terms of three categories of technologies, (i) advanced technologies that help riders manage riding according to situations and conditions, (ii) advanced technologies that help riders to stop, and (iii) advanced technologies that help riders to corner. Eight focus groups were conducted with 39 motorcycle riders (M age = 44.54 years, 27 males) who resided in Australia. First, participants completed a short online questionnaire which asked demographic information (e.g., age, gender, riding experience), before taking part in a 50-minute semi-structured online focus group. Participants' knowledge of ARAS differed depending on the type of technology, with most participants reporting good to excellent knowledge of cruise control and standard anti-lock braking system (ABS) and a poor to fair understanding of selectable riding modes and cornering ABS. For behavioural beliefs, two common advantages reported for all three categories of technologies were safety and that the technologies would benefit new riders or riders with less experience. The three common disadvantages included concerns over riders' reliance on the technologies, cost, and loss of skill or false sense of security. For normative beliefs, participants reported that their loved ones (i.e., partner, family, and friends) would approve of them using these technologies, with participants perceiving that 'purists' (i.e., riders who prefer to ride traditional motorcycles) would disapprove. For control beliefs, cost, lack of information on the safety of advanced technologies, and not being able to switch off systems were reported as barriers to use. Lowering insurance premiums, education/test rides, technologies as selectable options, and availability, were all identified as factors that would encourage use of ARAS. By providing information about ARAS, riders will become more informed about ARAS, which may enhance trust and user acceptance. Simple Summary: Sheep scab, caused by infestation with the ectoparasitic mite Psoroptes ovis, is endemic in Northern Ireland (NI). The disease continues to cause NI's sheep farming industry significant challenges, negatively impacting sheep and farmer welfare. The diagnosis of sheep scab has traditionally been achieved by taking skin scrape samples from suspected lesional areas on sheep suspected of being infested with sheep scab. These skin scrape samples are then examined under a microscope to confirm the presence of Psoroptes ovis mites, which provides a definitive diagnosis of the disease. However, while this method of diagnosis is highly specific for sheep scab, there can be a high level of variability in the sensitivity of the method, which can be as low as 18 percent. The objective of this study was to analyse the behavioural factors influencing the intention of sheep farmers to adopt sheep scab control measures in the form of blood testing. To achieve our objective, we analysed data from a sample of 126 sheep farmers using quantitative techniques. The results show that the promotion of a positive attitude towards blood testing for subclinical diagnoses of the disease would go a long way in controlling sheep scab in NI. Sheep scab, caused by infestation with the ectoparasitic mite Psoroptes ovis, is an endemic disease in the Northern Ireland (NI) sheep flock and constitutes significant economic and welfare burdens for the NI farming industry. Despite its endemic nature, historically, little research has been undertaken to support the control of the disease in NI. This study offers the first attempt to analyse the psychological and behavioural factors influencing farmers' intentions to implement effective sheep scab control measures in NI. To achieve our objective, quantitative data from a sample of 126 sheep farmers were statistically analysed using an extended theory of planned behaviour approach in an ordered logistic regression modelling framework. Our analyses showed that sheep scab remains an issue of concern in Northern Ireland. The attitudes of the farmers, as well as perceived behavioural control, emotional effect, membership of Business Development Groups (BDGs), and higher education qualifications, were found to be statistically significant factors influencing farmers' intentions to adopt sheep scab control measures. This study provides a solid foundation for how to promote behavioural changes among sheep farmers to improve their ability to implement effective disease control measures, helping to tackle this challenging disease in a more sustainable way in the future. This study aims to analyse the impact of a four-day inclusive basketball campus on the self-efficacy (SE) of players with or without a disability (pre- vs. post-intervention design). A sample of 44 participants, 23 without a disability and 21 with a physical disability, all wheelchair users, participated in this study. The entire sample formed part of the intervention group participating in the Inclusive Basketball Campus of the Real Madrid Foundation over four days. To measure the SE of the participants, a basketball SE questionnaire was used, evaluating the degree of confidence in the skilled performance that they felt during the games and training sessions. The results suggested that the intervention had an overall positive effect (p < 0.01; ηρ2 = 0.35, large), and the intervention was invariable as regards the factors between the groups (i.e. having a disability and gender). Also, there were significant differences for the disability between-group factor (p < 0.01; ηρ2 = 0.33, large), but not for gender. It is concluded that the inclusive sport campus influence the SE of players with and without disabilities, but those with a disability achieved lower SE scores than those without a disability. Background: Despite the growing emphasis on research‐based teacher education and calls for evidence‐informed practice, teachers tend to prefer experiential over scientific knowledge sources to inform their actions, justify decisions and analyse educational problems. This tendency already occurs as early as during initial teacher education, and it is possibly bolstered by school internships where mentors emphasise the value of practical over scientific knowledge. Aims: The present study applied the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) to investigate under what conditions pre‐service teachers intend to use and prefer scientific sources from educational research. Methods: The study's participants were 343 pre‐service teachers in a half‐year school internship who indicated their attitudes towards educational research, behavioural control (i.e. self‐efficacy), perceived subjective norm, intentions of using research and preference for scientific sources in a survey. Perceived subjective norm was established by measuring whether pre‐service teachers believed their mentors considered research‐based knowledge. Results: In line with the predictions of the standard TPB model, structural equation modelling confirmed the effects of positive attitudes, self‐efficacy and perceived subjective norm on pre‐service teachers' intentions of using research. In turn, intentions and self‐efficacy predicted preferences for scientific sources but not the use of scientific sources when planning a lesson in the internship. Clinical guidelines recommend screening for post-stroke depression, which is particularly important for people with post-stroke aphasia, due to increased risk of depression and suicidality. The Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) suggests that behavioural intentions are influenced by three factors: attitudes, normative beliefs, and perceived behavioural control. It has been used to investigate staff intentions to perform post-stroke screening, but little is known about staff intentions to screen people with aphasia for depression or suicidality. We examined how UK stroke professionals describe screening for depression and suicidality with people with aphasia and whether the TPB predicts intent to screen depression with this population. We conducted a cross-sectional online survey and used multiple regression to test whether attitudes, normative beliefs, and perceived behavioural control predicted intent to screen people with aphasia for depression and suicidality. To assess response stability over time we asked respondents to repeat the survey over a fortnight later. One hundred and eighteen UK stroke professionals completed the survey between May and September 2020. Intent to screen people with aphasia for depression was high (M = 71.6%, SD = 34.7) but much lower for suicidality (M = 42.4%, SD = 39). Approximately half the variance in intent to screen for depression was predicted by the TPB, R2 =.48, F (3,101) = 30.60, p <.001, with normative beliefs identified as a significant predictor, β =.62, p <.001. Responses were stable over time for those who repeated the survey (N = 13). More support is needed to help stroke professionals screen for depression and suicidality in people with post-stroke aphasia. Screening rates may be improved by communicating clear expectations that staff should screen all stroke survivors for depression and suicidality, developing aphasia-accessible screening tools and providing training to all stroke professionals.
