Oils and fats are an important source of energy for animals and a good carrier of fat-soluble nutrients, which can participate in various life activities of the body and are widely used in animal production. With the improvement of the scale of aquaculture, many kinds of oils and fats have been used in animal diets to improve production efficiency of aquaculture. The paper reviews the research progress on the application of dietary fat in the laying poultry industry, introduces the characteristics of digestion and absorption of oils and fats in laying poultry and the nutritional effect of oils and fats on laying poultry, discusses the effects of feeding with different kinds and levels of oils and fats on laying performance, egg quality, nutrients in eggs and health of laying poultry, in order to provide reference for the efficient application of oils and fats in laying poultry feed.
