Cryptococcus neoformans is at the top of the list of "most wanted" human pathogens. Only three classes of antifungal drugs are available for the treatment of cryptococcosis. Studies on antifungal resistance mechanisms are limited to the investigation of how a particular antifungal drug induces resistance to a particular drug, and the impact of stresses other than antifungals on the development of antifungal resistance and even cross-resistance is largely unexplored. The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is a ubiquitous subcellular organelle of eukaryotic cells. Brefeldin A (BFA) is a widely used chemical inducer of ER stress. Here, we found that both weak and strong selection by BFA caused aneuploidy formation in C. neoformans, mainly disomy of chromosome 1, chromosome 3, and chromosome 7. Disomy of chromosome 1 conferred cross-resistance to two classes of antifungal drugs: fluconazole and 5-flucytosine, as well as hypersensitivity to amphotericin B. However, drug resistance was unstable, due to the intrinsic instability of aneuploidy. We found overexpression of AFR1 on Chr1 and GEA2 on Chr3 phenocopied BFA resistance conferred by chromosome disomy. Overexpression of AFR1 also caused resistance to fluconazole and hypersensitivity to amphotericin B. Furthermore, a strain with a deletion of AFR1 failed to form chromosome 1 disomy upon BFA treatment. Transcriptome analysis indicated that chromosome 1 disomy simultaneously upregulated AFR1, ERG11, and other efflux and ERG genes. Thus, we posit that BFA has the potential to drive the rapid development of drug resistance and even cross-resistance in C. neoformans, with genome plasticity as the accomplice. Introduction: Irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D) is frequently accompanied by depression and anxiety, resulting in a reduced quality of life and increased medical expenditures. Although psychological factors are known to play an important role in the genesis and development of IBS-D, an understanding of the central neural control of intestinal dysfunction remains elusive. Melanin-concentrating hormone (MCH) is a gut-brain peptide involved in regulating feeding, sleep-wake rhythms, and emotional states. Methods: This study investigated the regulation of the MCHergic neural circuit from the lateral hypothalamic area (LHA) to the dorsal raphe nucleus (DRN) on anxiety- and depression-like behaviors, intestinal motility, and visceral hypersensitivity in a mice model of IBS-D. The models of IBS-D were prepared by inducing chronic unpredictable mild stress. Results: Chemogenetic activation of the MCH neurons in the LHA could excite serotonin (5-HT) neurons in the DRN and induce anxiety- and depression-like behaviors and IBS-D-like symptoms, which could be recovered by microinjection of the MCH receptor antagonist SNAP94847 into the DRN. The mice model of IBS-D showed a reduction of 5-HT and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression in the DRN, while an elevation of 5-HT and BDNF was observed in the colon through immunofluorescent staining, ELISA, and Western blot analysis. SNAP94847 treatment in the DRN alleviated anxiety- and depression-like behaviors, improved intestinal motility, and alleviated visceral hypersensitivity responses by normalizing the 5-HT and BDNF expression in the DRN and colon. Conclusion: This study suggests that the activation of MCH neurons in the LHA may induce IBS-D symptoms via the DRN and that the MCH receptor antagonist could potentially have therapeutic effects. The multipartite nonlocality provides deep insights into the fundamental feature of quantum mechanics and guarantees different degrees of cryptography security for potential applications in the quantum internet. Verifying multipartite nonlocal correlations is a difficult task. A unified approach is proposed that encompasses all the quantum characteristics of the multipartite correlated system beyond from fully separable to biseparable no‐signaling correlations. A straightforward method is offered to verify general systems by lifting partial nonlocal correlations. This allows to construct a chained Bell inequality, facilitating the unified verification of hierarchic multipartite nonlocalities. Shelf life is an important determinant of the quality of parasitoids used as natural enemies in augmentation biological control. Cotesia chilonis (Munakata) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), an obligate endoparasitoid of Chilo suppressalis (Walker) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), has potential for use through augmentation biological control in China. Here, the effects of cold storage temperature, host status, and larval stage on the biological characteristics of C. chilonis were investigated to extend the agent's shelf life. Results showed that the number of healthy C. chilonis adults obtained was reduced by 3.5% and 47.7% when C. suppressalis larvae in either natural or induced diapause were used as hosts compared to nondiapausing control larvae. Both parasitism and cold storage significantly reduced the supercooling point of nondiapausing C. suppressalis larvae, whereas the opposite result was observed in those of natural diapause. In order to improve the long‐term storage of C. chilonis, nondiapausing C. suppressalis larvae were parasitized for 1, 3, 5, and 7 days to allow C. chilonis to develop into different larval stages before being transferred into cold storage for 30 days at 4 or 10°C. Compared to the control, the C. chilonis cocoon formation and emergence rates of the 1‐day‐old egg treatment group held at 10°C were reduced by 15% and 17%, respectively. The results also showed that the duration of the larval stage of C. chilonis was prolonged fourfold after storage at 4 and 10°C. Individuals held at 10°C had a significantly longer cocoon and adult stage compared to those held at 4°C. The biological parameters and life history of the F1 generation of C. chilonis returned to normal levels under laboratory conditions. Searching for photocatalysts that can make full use of solar light to catalyze the decomposition of water into hydrogen and oxygen is of great significance for the development of renewable energy. Through systematic structure search and density functional theory computations, a two-dimensional penta-HgO2 monolayer as a candidate with great potential of photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction is uncovered. The stability of the penta-HgO2 monolayer is confirmed through energetic analysis, phonon spectra, ab initio molecular dynamics simulations, and mechanical property evaluations. The penta-HgO2 monolayer is a semiconductor, which has a medium indirect band gap of 2.93 eV, and its band edge positions perfectly satisfy both the oxidation and reduction potentials of water. Furthermore, the penta-HgO2 monolayer exhibits rather pronounced light absorption (∼105 cm–1) in both visible and ultraviolet regions. Along the x/y transport direction, the penta-HgO2 monolayer has fascinating anisotropic carrier mobility for electrons (4115.63/736.80 cm2 V–1 S–1) and holes (330.29/102.01 cm2 V–1 s–1). More importantly, the penta-HgO2 monolayer shows high catalytic activity with a low Gibbs free energy for hydrogen evolution reaction, and biaxial tensile strain can significantly improve this property. The suitable band alignments, ultrahigh anisotropic carrier mobility, excellent optical adsorption properties, and high catalytic activity render the penta-HgO2 monolayer to be a hopeful candidate for high-performance photocatalytic water-splitting applications. Thermodynamics as a fundamental branch of physics examines the relationships between heat, work, and energy. The maximum energy extraction can be characterized by using the passive states that have no extracted energy under any cyclic unitary process. In this paper, the focus is on the concept of marginal passive state energy and derive polygon inequalities for multi‐qubit entangled pure states. It is shown that the marginal passive state energies collectively form a convex polytope for each class of quantum states that are equivalent under SLOCC. Multipartite passive state energy criteria is introduced to classify multipartite entanglement under SLOCC. The present result provides a thermodynamic method to witness multipartite entanglement. Purpose: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of contrast-enhanced (CE) ultrasound using Sonazoid (SNZ–CEUS) by comparing with contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CE–CT) and contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (CE–MRI) for differentiating benign and malignant renal masses. Materials and methods: 306 consecutive patients (from 7 centers) with renal masses (40 benign tumors, 266 malignant tumors) diagnosed by both SNZ–CEUS, CE–CT or CE–MRI were enrolled between September 2020 and February 2021. The examinations were performed within 7 days, but the sequence was not fixed. Histologic results were available for 301 of 306 (98.37%) lesions and 5 lesions were considered benign after at least 2 year follow-up without change in size and image characteristics. The diagnostic performances were evaluated by sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and compared by McNemar's test. Results: In the head-to-head comparison, SNZ–CEUS and CE–MRI had comparable sensitivity (95.60 vs. 94.51%, P = 0.997), specificity (65.22 vs. 73.91%, P = 0.752), positive predictive value (91.58 vs. 93.48%) and negative predictive value (78.95 vs. 77.27%); SNZ–CEUS and CE–CT showed similar sensitivity (97.31 vs. 96.24%, P = 0.724); however, SNZ–CEUS had relatively lower than specificity than CE–CT (59.09 vs. 68.18%, P = 0.683). For nodules > 4 cm, CE–MRI demonstrated higher specificity than SNZ–CEUS (90.91 vs. 72.73%, P = 0.617) without compromise the sensitivity. Conclusions: SNZ–CEUS, CE–CT, and CE–MRI demonstrate desirable and comparable sensitivity for the differentiation of renal mass. However, the specificity of all three imaging modalities is not satisfactory. SNZ–CEUS may be a suitable alternative modality for patients with renal dysfunction and those allergic to gadolinium or iodine-based agents. Mechanically interlocked molecules (MIMs) including famous catenanes show switchable physical properties and attract continuous research interest due to their potential application in molecular devices. The advantages of using spin crossover (SCO) materials here are enormous, allowing for control through diverse stimuli and highly specific functions, and enabling the transfer of the internal dynamics of MIMs from solution to solid state, leading to macroscopic applications. Herein, we report the efficient self-assembly of catenated metal-organic frameworks (termed catena-MOFs) induced by stacking interactions, through the combination of rationally selected flexible and conjugated naphthalene diimide-based bis-pyridyl ligand (BPND), [MI(CN)2]− (M = Ag or Au) and Fe2+ in a one-step strategy. The obtained bimetallic Hofmann-type SCO-MOFs [FeII(BPND){Ag(CN)2}2]·3CHCl3 (1Ag) and [FeII(BPND{Au(CN)2}2]·2CHCl3·2H2O (1Au) possess a unique three-dimensional (3D) catena-MOF constructed from the polycatenation of two-dimensional (2D) layers with hxl topology. Both complexes undergo thermal- and light-induced SCO. Significantly, abnormal increases in the maximum emission intensity and dielectric constant can be detected simultaneously with the switching of spin states. This research opens up SCO-actuated bistable MIMs that afford dual functionality of coupled fluorescence emission and dielectricity. Incorporating spin crossover motifs into mechanically interlocked molecules offers various switchable properties. In karst regions, the occurrence of sinkholes is a common cause of roadway failures, leading to significant embankment deformation and instability. The advantages of geosynthetic reinforcement have been proven in practice in numerous countermeasures to lessen the impact of localized sinkholes, and associated design methodologies have been developed. However, some existing design methods assume there is no deformation in geosynthetics embedded in soils, and the effect of matric suction in soils is not considered either. This study suggested an analytical approach that took into account the strain in the geosynthetic reinforcements as well as the impact of matric suction. The developed design method was used to conduct parameter studies under various matric suction conditions. The method was validated against the experimental results, and the feasibility of the developed method was also compared with the existing design methods. The findings demonstrate that, in comparison to the method created here, existing design methodologies produce more conservative results. Mercury (Hg) enrichments in ancient sediments have been used as a proxy of volcanism, especially large igneous province (LIP) eruptions. However, considering the existence of other potential Hg sources besides volcanoes and the diverse factors (e.g., organic matters, clay minerals, sulfide minerals and Fe oxides) that can affect Hg sequestration, there are considerable uncertainties to simply regard sedimentary Hg anomalies as signatures of volcanic activities. Mercury stable isotopes, a promising tool for tracing the origins and transformations of Hg, have been increasingly used for determining the causes of Hg spikes and understanding the geochemical behavior of Hg in the geologic record. To date, lots of researches have applied Hg concentrations and Hg isotopes to identify LIP volcanisms linking with significant geological events such as mass extinctions, ocean anoxic events and other environmental perturbations that mainly occurred in the Phanerozoic. However, the results in previous studies clearly show that not all Hg enrichments are derived from volcanic inputs, which emphasize the need for more caution in using Hg as a fingerprint of volcanism. With a better understanding of Hg isotopes in the future, there will be important implications for Hg isotopes to reconstruct volcanic activities in the rock records and their impacts on biological evolution. Rotor interturn short circuit (RISC) is a common electrical fault in generators. Investigations about such fault on the rotor vibrations, magnetic field variations, and current/voltage changes have been widely carried out, while the thermal properties of the stator side have been rarely studied. This paper presents a comprehensive study on the stator thermal behavior in synchronous generators under different RISC position and varied power load cases. Such thermal behavior includes not only the core loss, copper loss and temperature variations of the stator, but also the mechanical responses of the stator core due to the unbalanced thermal distribution. The whole work is based on the magnetic flux density (MFD) analysis, the core loss and copper loss calculation. Theoretical analysis, finite element calculation, and experimental study are carried out, respectively, by taking a 5 kV A two-pole prototype generator as the case study. During the analysis, the reinforced excitation performance by the automatic control system of the generator set due to the voltage sag caused by RISC is fully considered. It is shown that RISC will significantly increase the stator temperature due to the reinforced excitation. The farther RISC position away from the big tooth is, the larger temperature/thermal risk will be. Besides, the stator temperature will also enlarge with the increase in power load. Background: Carotid Intima-Media Thickness (CIMT) is a key marker for atherosclerosis, with its modulation being crucial for cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk assessment. While thyroid function's impact on cardiovascular health is recognized, the causal relationship and underlying mechanisms influencing CIMT remain to be elucidated. Methods: In this study, Mendelian Randomization (MR) was employed to assess the causal relationship between thyroid function and CIMT. Thyroid hormone data were sourced from the Thyroidomics Consortium, while lipid traits and CIMT measurements were obtained from the UK Biobank. The primary analysis method was a two-sample MR using multiplicative random effects inverse variance weighting (IVW-MRE). Additionally, the study explored the influence of thyroid hormones on lipid profiles and assessed their potential mediating role in the thyroid function-CIMT relationship through multivariate MR analysis. Results: The study revealed that lower levels of Free Thyroxine (FT4) within the normal range are significantly associated with increased CIMT. This association was not observed with free triiodothyronine (FT3), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), or TPOAb. Additionally, mediation analysis suggested that apolipoprotein A-I and B are involved in the relationship between thyroid function and CIMT. The findings indicate a potential U-shaped curve relationship between FT4 levels and CIMT, with thyroid hormone supplementation in hypothyroid patients showing benefits in reducing CIMT. Conclusion: This research establishes a causal link between thyroid function and CIMT using MR methods, underscoring the importance of monitoring thyroid function for early cardiovascular risk assessment. The results advocate for the consideration of thyroid hormone supplementation in hypothyroid patients as a strategy to mitigate the risk of carotid atherosclerosis. Portland cement (PC) is ubiquitously used in construction for centuries, yet the elucidation of its early-age hydration remains a challenge. Understanding the initial hydration progress of tricalcium aluminate (C3A) at molecular scale is thus crucial for tackling this challenge as it exhibits a proclivity for early-stage hydration and plays a pivotal role in structural build-up of cement colloids. Herein, we implement a series of ab-initio calculations to probe the intricate molecular interactions of C3A during its initial hydration process. The C3A surface exhibits remarkable chemical activity in promoting water dissociation, which in turn facilitates the gradual desorption of Ca ions through a metal-proton exchange reaction. The dissolution pathways and free energies of these Ca ions follow the ligand-exchange mechanism with multiple sequential reactions to form the ultimate products where Ca ions adopt fivefold or sixfold coordination. Finally, these Ca complexes reprecipitate on the remaining Al-rich layer through the interface-coupled dissolution-reprecipitation mechanism, demonstrating dynamically stable inner-sphere adsorption states. The above results are helpful in unmasking the early-age hydration of PC and advancing the rational design of cement-based materials through the bottom-up approach. The hydration of tricalcium aluminate is an important initial step in the structural build-up of Portland cement. Spin-resolved transport properties of the armchair-edged SnSe lateral contact with two magnetic Ni(111) leads are investigated by density functional theory combined with nonequilibrium Green's function method. The spin-polarized currents, magnetoresistances and k -resolved transmission spectrums are simulated in spin parallel and antiparallel configurations. It is found that the heterostructure exhibits a stable spin injection efficiency which can reach up to 80% at low bias range in spin parallel configuration, suggesting the large spin-diffusion length of SnSe. The magnetoresistance can be maintained stably at about 40% at a wide bias range. These results make SnSe material possible to be used in spintronic devices. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The second law of thermodynamics dictates that entropy tends to increase, leading to a notion of disorder in thermostatistics. This principle applies to both quantum thermostatistics, where the von Neumann entropy is used, and nonextensive quantum thermostatistics, which employs the Tsallis entropy. In this work, we provide operational characterizations of general entropy measures by utilizing catalytic transformations or dephasing operations on unknown states. We introduce a catalytic principle that aligns with the second law of thermodynamics, encompassing both quantum thermostatistics and nonextensive quantum thermostatistics. This principle uncovers novel features that go beyond the second law of thermodynamics by maximizing the cross-entropy during irreversible catalytic procedures. Our findings have practical implications for asymptotic tasks such as universal quantum source encoding, even when only incomplete information is available. In this paper, we present an enhanced method for automatically capturing a large number of consecutive paraffin sections using a microscope. Leveraging these microstructural images, we employed three‐dimensional visualisation and reconstruction techniques to investigate the dispersal growth process of pollen tube bundles upon entering the ovary of Solanum nigrum. Additionally, we explored their behaviour within different ovules and examined the relationship between the germination rate of seeds and the fertilisation process. Our findings reveal that despite the abundance of Solanum nigrum seeds, only a fraction of them is capable of successful germination. The germination rate of seeds is closely related to whether fertilisation of the ovules and pollen tubes is completed. Due to the limited number of pollen tubes entering the ovary, only a portion of the ovules can be fertilised. The proportion of fertilised ovules positively correlates with the germination rate of the seeds. Through three‐dimensional reconstruction, we observed a phenomenon of proximity during the pollination process, wherein ovules closer to the pollen tube bundles are more likely to be fertilised. Furthermore, fertilised ovules exhibited significant changes in morphology and embryo sac structure. The number of fertilised ovules directly impacts the germination rate of wild Solanum nigrum seeds. Although all Solanum nigrum ovules have the potential to develop into seeds, most seeds originating from unfertilised ovules are unable to germinate normally, resulting in an incomplete germination rate of seeds and preventing it from reaching 100%. Background: This study aimed to assess the clinical significance of generating a volumetric stent expansion index for tapering lesions through intravascular ultrasound (IVUS). Previous IVUS studies have used minimal stent area (MSA) to predict adverse outcomes. Methods: A total of 251 tapering lesions were treated in this study via IVUS guidance in 232 patients. Eight stent expansion indices were evaluated to determine the association of these indices with device-oriented clinical endpoints (DoCEs) after two-year follow-ups. These were the ILUMIEN III and IV standards, the ULTIMATE (Intravascular Ultrasound Guided Drug Eluting Stents Implantation in "All-Comers" Coronary Lesions) standard, the IVUS-XPL (Impact of Intravascular Ultrasound Guidance on the Outcomes of Xience Prime Stents in Long Lesions) standard, the minimal volumetric expansion index (MVEI) using the Huo-Kassab or linear model, the MSA/vessel area at the MSA cross-section, the traditional stent expansion (MSA/mean proximal and distal reference lumen cross-sectional area), and MSA. Results: The MVEI was the only stent expansion index that correlated significantly with the two-year DoCEs (hazard ratio [HR], 1.91; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.16-3.96; p = 0.028). In the ROC analysis, the area under the curve for the MVEI was 0.71 (p = 0.002), with an optimal cut-off value of 62.2 for predicting the DoCEs. To find an array of suitable materials for phosphorescent organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs), in this paper, we design six blue‐green phosphorescent Ir (III) complexes that have low‐efficiency roll‐off properties. Density functional theory and time‐dependent density functional theory were used to study the properties of (2‐[4‐phenoxyphenyl]pyridine [oppy])2Ir(acetylacetonate [acac]), (oppy)2Ir(picolinate [pic]), (oppy)2Ir(tetraphenylimido‐diphosphinate [tpip]), (5‐fluoro‐2‐(4‐phenoxyphenyl)pyridine [F‐oppy])2Ir(acac), (F‐oppy)2Ir(pic), and (F‐oppy)2Ir(tpip). Here, the main ligands are oppy and F‐oppy, while the auxiliary ligands are acac, pic, and tpip. The advantages of these complexes were analyzed in terms of electronic structure, frontier molecular orbital properties, spectral properties, and OLED display effect. This study aims to explore factors related to optical navigation that interfere with the accuracy of robot-assisted surgery, specifically focusing on the TIANJI Robot system. A measurement model was created to assess the accuracy of the TIANJI Robot system in simulated screw placement. Deviation between actual and planned positions was measured using a three-coordinate machine. Various experiments were conducted to investigate the impact of different optical navigation factors on screw placement accuracy. Deviations were measured at different distances (ranging from 1.2 to 2.2 m) between the optical navigation stereo camera and the tracker, with each distance being tested 50 times. The distance between the optical camera and patient tracker was set at 1.4 m. Deviations were also measured at different angles between the camera and robot tracker, repeated over 25 times for each angle. Data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation, with line charts illustrating deviation changes based on distance and angle details. Within the range of the TIANJI Robot system’s optical navigation (1.2–2.2 m), deviation increased as distance increased (χ2 = 479.107, P < 0.001). The robotic system demonstrated high and consistent accuracy (mean deviation: 0.332 mm ± 0.067 mm) when the relative angle between the optical camera and tracker was below 40°. The accuracy of the TIANJI Robot system was found to be influenced by relative distance and angle between the optical camera and tracker during screw placement procedures. Surgeons are recommended to set a relative distance of 1.4–1.5 m between the optical camera and patient tracker, with a relative angle below 40° when placing and adjusting optical tracking devices. Introduction: We developed a convolutional neural network (CNN) model to predict treatment outcomes of transforaminal epidural steroid injection (TFESI) for controlling cervical radicular pain due to cervical foraminal stenosis. Methods: We retrospectively recruited 293 patients with cervical TFESI due to cervical radicular pain caused by cervical foraminal stenosis. We obtained a single oblique cervical radiograph from each patient. We cut each oblique cervical radiograph image into a square shape, including the foramen that was targeted for TFESI, the intervertebral disc, the facet joint of the corresponding level with the targeted foramen, and the pedicles of the vertebral bodies just above and below the targeted foramen. Therefore, images including the targeted foramen and structures around the targeted foramen were used as input data. A favorable outcome was defined as a ≥ 50% reduction in the numeric rating scale (NRS) score at 2 months post TFESI compared to the pretreatment NRS score. A poor outcome was defined as a < 50% reduction in the NRS score at 2 months post TFESI vs. the pretreatment score. Results: The area under the curve of our developed model for predicting the treatment outcome of cervical TFESI in patients with cervical foraminal stenosis was 0.823. Conclusion: A CNN model trained using oblique cervical radiographs can be helpful in predicting treatment outcomes after cervical TFESI in patients with cervical foraminal stenosis. If the predictive accuracy is increased, we believe that the deep learning model using cervical radiographs as input data can be easily and widely used in clinics or hospitals. The soft theorem states that scattering amplitude in gauge theory with a soft gauge-boson emission can be factorized into a hard scattering amplitude and a soft factor. In this paper, we present calculations of the soft factor for processes involving two hard colored partons, up to three loops in QCD. To accomplish this, we developed a systematic method for recursively calculating relevant Feynman integrals using the Feynman-Parameter representation. Our results constitute an important ingredient for the subtraction of infrared singularities at N4LO in perturbative QCD. Using the principle of leading transcendentality between QCD and N = 4 super Yang-Mills theory, we determine the soft factor in the latter case to three loops with full-color dependence. This paper presents a designed experimental simulation scheme for dynamic air gap eccentricity (DAGE) faults in permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG), along with the testing of their electromechanical characteristics. Unlike previous studies, this paper proposes and applies an experimental device setting scheme that enables accurate and convenient calibration of the DAGE fault degree, offering a novel solution for practical DAGE simulation. The experimental unit measures the electromechanical characteristics of the PMSG before and after the DAGE fault, taking into account the influence of load. The mechanical parameter considered is the stator vibration, while the electrical parameter is the circulating current parallel branches (CCPB) inside the stator winding. The characteristic frequencies of stator vibration and CCPB under the DAGE fault are analyzed based on the experimental results and verified through theoretical calculations and finite element analysis (FEA). The findings demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed DAGE experimental device. Moreover, DAGE failure increases the strength of stator vibration and introduces new frequency components, namely fr and 2f ± fr. Under normal operation, the PMSG exhibits no CCPB. However, DAGE faults cause CCPB with frequency components of f ± fr. Moreover, the severity of the fault degree positively correlates with larger root‐mean‐square (RMS) values and characteristic frequency amplitudes of stator vibration and CCPB. Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a severe chronic interstitial lung disease with high mortality, and there is currently a lack of definite and effective treatment methods. Studies have found that gentiopicroside, a secoiridoid glycoside compound derived from plants of the Gentiana genus, can significantly improve pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis lesions in mice with pulmonary fibrosis. However, the mechanism of its anti-fibrotic effect is unclear. Therefore, in this study, we employed network pharmacology's virtual computer technology to investigate the potential mechanism underlying the anti-pulmonary fibrosis effect of Gentianae Radix et Rhizome (Longdan in Chinese, GRR). Our findings offer valuable theoretical insights and serve as a guiding reference for future experimental investigations. A total of 10 active compounds and 920 drug-target proteins were identified from the TCMSP database. The compound-target-pathway-disease network showed that GRR could potentially treat PF by regulating the MDM2, ERBB2 and VEGFA, signaling pathways through its key targets, including AKT1, TNF, and MAPK1. The protein‒protein interaction network revealed that these targets had strong interactions with each other, indicating a potential synergistic effect of GRR in treating PF. The GO and KEGG enrichment analyses further supported the potential anti-pulmonary fibrosis mechanisms of GRR, including regulating the inflammatory response, ECM-receptor interaction, and TGF-beta signaling pathways. Our study provides a systematic analysis of the potential anti-pulmonary fibrosis mechanisms of GRR based on network pharmacology. Eu2+ was used to substitute Ca in the orthorhombic KCoO2-type layered CaTiN2 to form a Ca1−xEuxTiN2 solid solution, which showed a limited substitution around x = 0.35 with the tetragonality enhanced but the orthorhombic symmetry retained and inaccessibility for the end member EuTiN2. This was in contrast with the full solid solution Ca1−xSrxTiN2, which realized a structural transition from orthorhombic to tetragonal at x = 0.5, even though Eu2+ and Sr2+ ions have similar sizes. The Eu substitution for Ca reduced the dielectric permittivity of CaTiN2 owing to the reduced structural distortion arising from the enhanced tetragonality with the substitution. First-principle theoretical calculations on the total energies and formation energies considering the 4f electrons of Eu ions and the related magnetism were performed to understand the structural stability of the hypothetical EuTiN2. Compared with CaTiN2 and SrTiN2, EuTiN2 has much higher formation energies, making it inaccessible at high temperature. The evolutions of the experimentally observed and calculated lattice parameters of the Ca1−xEuxTiN2 solid solution showed a preference for the orthorhombic phase over the tetragonal phase for the hypothetical EuTiN2, revealing a different coordination chemistry of Eu2+–N to Eu2+–O through the comparison of the structural variations of ATiN2 and ATiO3 (A = Ca, Sr, Eu). Due to their unique structure, abundant properties and potential applications, low-dimensional materials with covalently bonded building blocks through van der Waals (vdW) interactions have sparked widespread interest. Recently, the bulk phase NbS4 consisting of one-dimensional (1D) chains has been synthesized successfully, adding a new member to the group V metallic polychalcogenide family. In the present study, based on density functional theory calculations, we obtained a better understanding of the stability, mechanical properties, electronic structures, transport properties and optical performances of the bulk phase NbS4. Furthermore, the possibility of exfoliating 1D single-chain nanowires from the bulk phase was uncovered. Both bulk phase and 1D nanowires show dynamic, thermal, and mechanical stabilities. The bulk phase possesses an indirect band gap of 1.39 eV with high anisotropic carrier mobilities of 471.814 cm2 s−1 v−1 for electrons (along the b axis direction) and 546.92 cm2 s−1 v−1 for holes (along the a axis direction). The single-chain nanowire exhibits remarkable flexibility and can resist 24% tensile strain along the chain direction. The decreased dimension from the bulk phase to the individual 1D chain not only makes the band gap increase to 1.81 eV but also results in an indirect-to-direct band gap transition, indicating a strong quantum confinement effect. The 1D single-chain nanowire also shows high carrier mobilities of 111.91 cm2 s−1 v−1 for electrons and 316.63 cm2 s−1 v−1 for holes along the chain direction. In addition, both bulk phase and 1D nanowire display excellent visible light absorption performance along the chain direction and the absorption coefficients reach the order of 106 and 105 cm−1. These promising properties render quasi 1D NbS4 as candidate materials for nanoscale applications in high-performance optoelectronic and nanoelectronic devices. The predicted unconventional properties of NbS4 not only provide a meaningful complement to the fascinating quasi 1D material family, but also will attract extensive interest from a wide audience to explore unanticipated properties and design new nanoscale devices based on NbS4. Introduction: The present study was conducted to explore the expression of serum inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress markers in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD), with an attempt to analyze their relationship with the coronary artery calcium score (CACS) by coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA). Material and methods: It total 81 patients with coronary heart disease and 81 healthy adults were included as the observation group and the control group, respectively. The levels of serum interleukin (IL)-6 and IL-12 of the two groups were detected by ELISA, and serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) was detected by the hydroxylamine oxidation method. Micro-RNA-497-5p (miR-497-5p) was screened out as a possible new CHD biomarker and its serum level was measured by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR. The CACS of patients in the observation group was calculated by the Agatston method to analyze the correlation between the abovementioned indexes and CACS. Results: With increase in the number of CHD lesions, the levels of IL-6, IL-12 and miR-497-5p rose gradually while the level of SOD decreased gradually. In the observation group, IL-6, IL-12 and miR-497-5p were positively correlated with CACS while SOD was negatively correlated with CACS. Conclusions: Abnormal expression levels of serum IL-6, IL-12, SOD and miR-497-5p may be able to reveal the severity of the disease, and the combination with CACS is of potential value in terms of evaluating the condition of patients harboring coronary heart disease. This study explores the application of Liquid Optical Clear Adhesive (LOCA) in flexible display modules using inkjet printing technology. We started by selecting and testing the printing and mechanical characteristics of the LOCA material, ultimately determining the optimal viscosity window and suitable LOCA material for our needs. Next, we established the inkjet printing process for LOCA and validated the curing process based on peel strength results. Tenvermectins A and B are a kind of 16-membered macrocyclic lactone antibiotics with potent insecticidal property, which have been obtained from two genetically engineered strains Streptomyces avermitilis MHJ1011 and S. avermitilis AVE-H39. Aiming at confirming the absolute configuration of tenvermectin B by X-ray diffraction method, 4″, 5 -di-(2-furoyloxyl) tenvermectin B (1) was prepared and a suitable crystal of 1 was obtained from MeOH. The absolute configuration of 1 was unambiguously established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The determination of the stereochemistry of tenvermectin B could promote its chemical and biological studies as agricultural and veterinary agents. Simple Summary: GPR84 is a G protein-coupled receptor expressed in immune cells. In mammals and amphibians, it is activated by medium-chain fatty acids and plays critical roles in inflammation and eye development. However, our understanding of GPR84 in fish remains limited. In this study, we successfully cloned the coding sequence of grass carp GPR84, revealing its high expression in the liver and spleen. In cells transfected with ciGPR84, we observed its responsiveness to medium-chain fatty acids such as capric acid, undecanoic acid, and lauric acid. Surprisingly, ciGPR84 did not respond to a synthetic activator called diindolylmethane. Notably, we found that lauric acid and capric acid exhibited the strongest activation and inhibition of ERK and cAMP signaling, respectively, suggesting their potential as immune modulators. These findings provide valuable insights for mitigating chronic inflammation in farmed fish, especially grass carp. The G-protein-coupled receptor GPR84, activated by medium-chain fatty acids, primarily expressed in macrophages and microglia, is involved in inflammatory responses and retinal development in mammals and amphibians. However, our understanding of its structure, function, tissue expression, and signaling pathways in fish is limited. In this study, we cloned and characterized the coding sequence of GPR84 (ciGPR84) in grass carp. A phylogenetic analysis revealed its close relationship with bony fishes. High expression levels of GPR84 were observed in the liver and spleen. The transfection of HEK293T cells with ciGPR84 demonstrated its responsiveness to medium-chain fatty acids and diindolylmethane (DIM). Capric acid, undecanoic acid, and lauric acid activated ERK and inhibited cAMP signaling. Lauric acid showed the highest efficiency in activating the ERK pathway, while capric acid was the most effective in inhibiting cAMP signaling. Notably, DIM did not activate GPR84 in grass carp, unlike in mammals. These findings provide valuable insights for mitigating chronic inflammation in grass carp farming and warrant further exploration of the role of medium-chain fatty acids in inflammation regulation in this species. The mechanism behind the destabilization of the North China Craton (NCC) remains a contentious topic among researchers. Large-scale Cretaceous adakitic magmatism in the NCC offers insights into the decratonization process. This study focuses on the Huashan and Laoniushan plutons located in the Lesser Qinling on the southern margin of the NCC and compiles published data for coeval adakitic rocks to investigate the role of water in adakitic rock petrogenesis during the peak destruction of NCC. Both the Huashan and Laoniushan plutons exhibit adakitic signatures, including high Sr (193–1080 ppm), low Yb (<14.8 ppm) and Y (<1.24 ppm) concentrations, as well as high Sr/Y (18–100) and La/Yb (24–58) ratios. The zircon Hf–O isotope compositions suggest that the primary source for the Huashan and Laoniushan plutons is the mafic lower crust of NCC. Nevertheless, there are significant differences in trace element characteristics between the two plutons. Specifically, the Huashan pluton displays higher Na2O/K2O ratios, lower levels of Rb, Rb/Sr, Nb, Ta content, and a weak Eu anomaly in comparison to the Laoniushan pluton. These variations in geochemical attributes cannot be accounted for by mechanisms like mantle-derived magma mixing, crustal contamination, or fractional crystallization processes. Instead, these disparities are attributed to distinct modes of crustal anatexis, involving both water-fluxed and dehydration melting. Subsequently, we conducted thermodynamic simulations of the melting process of mafic lower crust under different pressure (0.5–1.5 GPa) and water content conditions (1–3 wt.%). The simulation results suggest that the Huashan pluton is most likely formed through water-fluxed melting in a scenario with normal crustal thickness (1 GPa). On the other hand, the Laoniushan pluton might have originated from dehydration melting under normal crustal thickness and pressure conditions. Notably, high pressure (>1.5 GPa) is not necessary for the formation of intracontinental adakitic rocks. The release of water from metasomatized lithospheric mantle and subsequent hydration of the lower continental crust triggers extensive adakitic magmatism in the NCC. The correlation between DARS2 expression and PET/CT metabolic parameters, including SUVmax, SUVmean, MTV, and TLG, was examined by Spearman correlation analysis. In addition, the molecular mechanism of interfering with DARS2 expression in inhibiting LUAD cell proliferation and glycolysis was analyzed through in vitro cell experiments. Results: DARS2 expression was significantly higher in LUAD samples than in control samples (p < 0.001). DARS2 has high specificity (98.4%) and sensitivity (95.2%) in the diagnosis of LUAD. DARS2 expression was positively correlated with SUVmax, SUVmean, and TLG (p < 0.001). At the same time, the sensitivity and specificity of SUVmax in predicting DARS2 overexpression in LUAD were 88.9% and 65.9%, respectively. Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have been widely used in various fields such as sensors. In this article, we designed six novel heterocyclic Ir(III) complexes: (CFM)2Ir(acac) (named 1 in this paper), (TTIQ)2Ir(acac) (named 2), (CFM)2Ir(tmd) (named 3), (TTIQ)2Ir(tmd) (named 4), (CFM)2Ir(pic) (named 5) and (TTIQ)2Ir(pic) (named 6). The six iridium (III) complexes were calculated using Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Time-Dependent Density Functional Theory (TD-DFT). We studied the bands of the lowest-lying absorptions and lowest energy emissions of complexes 1–6. In addition, we also explored their spectral properties, frontier Molecular Orbital theory(FMO) and spin-orbital coupling value(SOC). Where acac is represented as pentane-2, 4-dione; tmd as 2,2,6,6-tetramethylheptane-3,5-dione; pic as pyridine-2-carboxylate; TTIQ as 1- { thieno[3,2-b]thiophen-2-yl } isoquinoline; CFM as 2-(4-fluorobrobenyl)-4-methylpyridine. Melatonin (MLT) protects cells by reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels, which are key for inducing cellular autophagy. The aim of this study was to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying MLT regulation of autophagy in granulosa cells (GCs) with BMPR‐1B homozygous (FecB BB) and wild type (FecB ++) mutations. GCs collected from small‐tailed Han sheep with different FecB genotypes were typed using a TaqMan probe assay, and autophagy levels were found to be significantly higher in GCs with FecB BB than the levels in those with FecB ++. Autophagy‐related 2 homolog B (ATG2B) was associated with cell autophagy and was highly expressed in GCs with the FecB BB genotype in small‐tailed Han sheep. Overexpression of ATG2B in the GCs of sheep with both FecB genotypes promoted GC autophagy, and the contrary was observed after the inhibition of ATG2B expression. Subsequently, treatment of GCs with different genotypes of FecB and MLT revealed a significant decrease in cellular autophagy and an increase in ATG2B expression. Addition of MLT to GCs with inhibited ATG2B expression revealed that MLT could protect GCs by decreasing ROS levels, especially in GCs with FecB ++ genotype. In conclusion, this study determined that autophagy levels were significantly higher in sheep GCs with FecB BB genotype than the levels in those with FecB ++ genotype, which may have contributed to the difference in lambing numbers between the two FecB genotypes. The present work aims to boost our understanding of factors governing the grain-refining efficiency of inoculation treatments by comparing the grain-refining efficiencies of two inoculators: Ti nanoparticles and LaB6 nanoparticles, in a 2024 Al alloy during additive manufacturing (AM). Experimental results obtained by scanning electron microscopy show that the LaB6 nanoparticle possessed almost no refining effect on the alloy, with the addition content ranging from 0.5 wt.% to 2 wt.%. Conversely, the Ti nanoparticle resulted in a more pronounced refinement and a fine, fully equiaxed microstructure at 1 wt.% Ti addition. Based on transmission electron microscopy analysis, the higher refining efficiency of Ti inoculation was ascribed to the incorporation of both Ti solute and the in situ-formed L12-Al3Ti nucleation particles. The former significantly increased the overall undercooling ahead of the growing Al grain, which ensured the activation of heterogeneous nucleation on the L12-Al3Ti nanoparticles, leading to grain refinement. This work highlights that despite the addition of nucleation particles, the incorporation of appropriate solutes to generate sufficient undercooling is the prerequisite for the activation of heterogenous nucleation in AM. The development of information technology puts forward huge demand for electronic materials with high dielectric constants; first-principles calculations and simulations have been demonstrated as an efficient technique for screening and exploring novel dielectric materials. In the present study, first-principles calculations combined with density functional perturbation theory are employed to study the dielectric properties of two newly discovered layered nitrides SrHfN2 and SrZrN2 under strain. By analyzing the evolution of lattice distortion, dielectric constant, Born effective charge, and phonon modes along with the applied strain, we find that the biaxial strain and isotropic strain can effectively modulate the dielectric constant. The two nitrides SrHfN2 and SrZrN2 are dynamically stable up to biaxial tensile strains of 2.1% and 1.8%, and the dielectric constants have been enlarged to about 500 and 2000. Furthermore, the dielectric constant is dramatically enhanced by 15 (9) times to a maximum value of ∼2600 (2700) under an isotropic tensile strain of 1.2% (0.7%) for SrHfN2 (SrZrN2), which is mainly due to the softening of the lowest-frequency infrared-active phonon mode and the increasing octahedral distortion degree. Particularly, the ionic contribution of the dielectric constant shows very remarkable anisotropy and plays a dominant role in the change of the dielectric constant, whose in-plane components exhibit giant enhancement by 18 (10) times for SrHfN2 (SrZrN2). This work not only sheds light on the experimentally observed high dielectric constants of SrHfN2 and SrZrN2, but also provides an effective route to regulate the anisotropic dielectric constants by applied strain, which indicates promising applications in optical and electronic devices. Detecting toxic gas molecules is of great significance for industry and public health. However, how to select and design highly sensitive and selective gas sensors has been a great challenge. In the present study, we explore the adsorption properties of monolayer PdS2 for the NH3, N2O, NO2, NO, CO, H2S, SO2, SO2F2, and SOF2 toxic gas molecules by first-principles calculations. By combined analyses of adsorption energy, adsorption distance, charge transfer, electronic structure, work function, and recovery time, the selectivity and sensitivity of the monolayer PdS2 to NO2, NO, and SO2 toxic gas molecules are identified. The adsorptions of NO2, NO, and SO2 lead to obvious changes of the electronic structure and charge transfer for the monolayer PdS2, which are further analyzed based on the frontier molecular orbitals theory. Additionally, NO adsorption effectively leads the work function of monolayer PdS2 to reduce by 17%, and the recovery time of the monolayer PdS2 sensor at room temperature is estimated to be considerably short for NO2, NO, and SO2 gases. The present study not only uncovered that the monolayer PdS2 can be used as a promising reusable sensing material featured with high selectivity and excellent sensitivity for environmentally hazardous gas molecules but also proposed a strategy for screening suitable sensing material by comparing the frontier molecular orbitals of the gas molecules with the band edges of the candidate adsorption materials, which will attract more attention from the wide audience working in the low-dimensional material system. Background: The metastasis of breast cancer (BC) is a complex multi-step pathological process, strictly dependent on the intrinsic characteristics of BC cells and promoted by a predisposing microenvironment. Although immunotherapy has made important progress in metastasis BC, the heterogeneity of PD-L1 in tumor associated macrophages (TAMs) in BC and the underlying mechanisms in the metastasis development of BC are still not completely elucidated. Small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) represent essential interaction mediators between BC cells and TAMs. It is worth noting to explore the underlying mechanisms typical of sEVs and their role in the metastasis development of BC. Methods: The structure of sEVs was identified by TEM, while the particle size and amounts of sEVs were detected by BCA and NTA analysis. The specific PD-L1 + CD163 + TAM subpopulation in metastasis BC was identified by scRNA-seq data of GEO datasets and verified by IHC and IF. The function of TAMs and sEVs in metastasis BC was explored by RT-qPCR, WB, IF, flow cytometry and in vivo experiment. The expression profiles of plasma sEVs-miRNA in relation to BC metastasis was analyzed using next-generation sequencing. Further detailed mechanisms of sEVs in the metastasis development of BC were explored by bioinformatics analysis, RT-qPCR, WB and luciferase reporter assay. Results: In this study, we identified that the immunosuppressive molecule PD-L1 was more abundant in TAMs than in BC cells, and a specific PD-L1 + CD163 + TAM subpopulation was found to be associated with metastasis BC. Additionally, we found that BC cells-derived sEVs can upregulate the PD-L1 expression and induce the M2 polarization, enhancing the metastasis development both in vitro and in vivo. Also, Clinical data showed that sEV-miR-106b-5p and sEV-miR-18a-5p was in relation to BC metastasis development and poor prognosis of BC patients. Further mechanistic experiments revealed that BC-derived sEV-miR-106b-5p and sEV-miR-18a-5p could synergistically promoted the PD-L1 expression in M2 TAMs by modulating the PTEN/AKT and PIAS3/STAT3 pathways, resulting in the enhancement of the BC cells invasion and metastasis. Conclusions: Our study demonstrated that BC-derived sEVs can induce metastasis in BC through miR-106b-5p/PTEN/AKT/PD-L1 and miR-18a-5p/PIAS3/STAT3/PD-L1 pathways in TAMs. Therefore, the inhibition of these specific interactions of signaling pathways would represent a promising target for future therapeutic strategies for treatment of BC. IoT device market has grown rapidly in recent years, with many researches have been done to investigate the IoT devices' adoption factors. However, it is crucial to understand how to maintain the users' continuance intention. This study, based on the post-acceptance model of the Expectation Confirmation Model (ECM), investigates the impact of early-stage users' personal traits (personal innovativeness), social influence (normative and informational), and familiarity, on the social diffusion of IoT devices (in particular, smart speakers) measured by the continuation intention of smart speakers. We tested the research model and hypotheses using data from 364 smart speaker users, analyzed with partial least square technique using Smart-PLS. The data analysis results revealed that satisfaction has a very strong and positive impact on continuance intention. Perceived usefulness, confirmation, and personal innovativeness are positively associated with continuance intention via satisfaction. Social influence, represented by normative and informational social influence, showed a significant positive impact on continuance intention, a high degree of familiarity weakens the influence of normative social influence on continuance intention; however, familiarity has no impact on the relationship between informational social influence and continuance intention. Quantum entropy is an important measure for describing the uncertainty of a quantum state, more uncertainty in subsystems for pure states implies stronger quantum entanglement between subsystems. Our goal in this work is to quantify bipartite entanglement and quantum entangled networks using quantum dual entropy. We first propose a type of dual entropy from Shannon entropy. We define S t -entropy entanglement based on von Neumann entropy and its complementary dual. This implies an analytic formula for two-qubit systems. We show that the monogamy properties of the S t -entropy entanglement and the entanglement of formation (EOF) are inequivalent with S t -entropy entanglement for quantum entangled networks. We finally prove a new type of entanglement polygon inequality in terms of S t -entropy entanglement for quantum entangled networks. Purpose: A convolutional neural network (CNN) is one of the representative deep learning (DL) model that is especially useful for image recognition and classification. In the current study, using cervical axial magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data obtained prior to transforaminal epidural steroid injection (TFESI), we developed a CNN model to predict the therapeutic outcome of cervical TFESI in patients with cervical foraminal stenosis.Patients and Methods: We retrospectively recruited 288 patients with cervical foraminal stenosis who received cervical TFESI due to cervical radicular pain. We collected single T2-axial spine MR image obtained from each patient. The image showing narrowest width of the neural foramen in the level at which TFESI was performed was used for input data. A "favor outcome" was defined as a ≥ 50% reduction in the NRS score at 2 months post-TFESI vs the pretreatment NRS score. A "poor outcome" was defined as a < 50% reduction in the NRS score at 2 months post-TFESI vs the pretreatment score.Results: The area under the curve of our developed model for predicting therapeutic outcome of cervical TFESI in patients with cervical spinal stenosis was 0.801.Conclusion: We showed that a CNN model trained using cervical axial MRI could be helpful for predicting therapeutic outcome after cervical TFESI in patients with cervical foraminal stenosis. This paper investigates the interface mechanical behavior of flexible piles with Lp/D>10 under lateral load and an overturning moment in monotonic loading conditions. To modify the beam-on-Winkler-foundation model of piles in offshore wind farms, the energy-based variational method is used. The soil is treated as a multi-layered elastic continuum with the assumption of three-dimensional displacements, the pile modeled as an Euler-Bernoulli beam. A series of cases using MATLAB programming was conducted to investigate the simplified equations of initial stiffness. The results indicated that the interaction between soil layers and the applied force position should be taken into account in calculating the horizontal soil resistance. Additionally, the distributed moment had a limiting effect on the lateral capacity of a flexible pile.
