This paper seeks to highlight how the post-pandemic crisis has brought to light an unpleasant reality of globalization, namely the deepening of inequality between people, especially among young people. In a global society, in which it was increasingly difficult to access education, the emergence of a virus that led to a pandemic has only rendered the problems of mankind into chronic, enduring issues; the crisis made its presence felt in the economy, in healthcare, and the political crisis was the last proverbial straw. In the current context, there is a decline in living standards, increasing inflation, a sharp volatility of the free market, a migration crisis, and a declining interest in education, coupled with increasingly difficult access to it. So far, Romania has managed, thanks to the publicprivate partnership, but also to some programs with European funding, to reduce the number of school dropouts; however, this phenomenon has not completely disappeared. This paper discusses how the culture and the use of digital technologies can support a change of the training of intercultural competences in the teachinglearning- assessment process, in order to better respond to the needs of the education system. Nowadays, the interconnection between education and culture cannot be analyzed, through the discussion and selection of best practices, without identifying the role played by technology in this process. The integration of digital technology in training programs at all levels, from primary school to higher education and continuing professional development, now applies to everyday pedagogical life being influenced by the intercontextual and intercultural dimensions. Digitalization in education requires drawing the coordinates that, in addition to training and developing the digital skills of educational agents, transpose digital citizenship through ethical conduct, taking into account the social, cultural and philosophical diversity of digital in society. During the course of the following paper I aime to investigate possible reasons for the impressive results that countries in East and South-East Asia have obtained at the PISA examinations that take place every three years. These examinations include three tests: Math, Science and Reading. What I have found is that there are more than one reasons that contribute to this type of succes. The main three that I have chosen to present are first and foremost: an unique cultural climate where education is highly prized by the members of the community and the role of teachers is aknowkedged as being central to the development of society. Secondly, different parenting methods can also be cited as influencing educational outcome. Thirdly, we have an education system that has a strong and well funded public school system but also a vast network of options outside the state provided system that includes cram schools, language schools and online schools, parents there showing a very high willingness to invest in extra classes and educational options outside the public education system. The confessional Roman-catholic education in interwar Romania was a prestigious brand for all graduates. This paper aims to point out, in the mirror, the type of instruction and education the girls were provided with, at two of the confessional schools in Romania. It involves the political, economical and social context these institutions functioned within and the school life of two girls. Margit Miko, a Hungarian girl from Călan, Hunedoara county, attended a small Franciscan school from Petroşani between 1932-1936. Cornelia Georgescu, a Romanian girl attended the elitist school of Notre Dame de Sion nun order from Galaţi a few years later. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

11. MARGINALIA TO THE READING OF LITERARY TEXTS.

This paper explores the issue of reading literature in the present-day academic milieu, in particular, and in the deeply computerised contemporary public space, in general. After pointing out some of the key aspects that teachers and professors need to observe in order to help students develop their reading skills, the study highlights the specificity that narratives, poems and plays display in relation to the parameter investigated and the functions of language. While explaining the relationship of coordination between literature and linguistics, the paper defends the authenticity of the act of reading, which has suffered serious mutations since the advent of the Internet. B. Spinoza (1632-1677) is one of the central figures in the history of philosophy that has significantly influenced the Western culture. Generally known as a rationalist, Spinoza was less widely accepted as a philosopher of education, although such an outline is outlined in his writings. An explanation for this may be that in none of his works did Spinoza explicitly address education. However, concepts, values and implications of ethical theory that are particularly relevant in educational endeavors can be easily identified in Spinozian texts. The present study proposes a new insight into the general education in the Hungarianlanguage in Communist Romania, known through the historiography as being a controversial issue. While the officials of the Communist regime stated that the educational rights of minorities were fully respected, the leaders of the Hungarian community argued that there was a certain educational discrimination. In this respect, the city of Cluj, as a symbolic place and the locus of ethnical identification for Transylvanian Hungarians - achieved through the historical becoming of this settlement -, is therefore an optimal choice to enriching our understanding about education in Hungarian as a mother tongue. After the fall of the Communist dictatorship, due to the lack of data related to the Hungarian language schooling during Communism, most of the surveys relied on scattered evidences and resulted in partial school monographs. The present study, based on extended research carried out at the Romanian National Archives, aims to offer a larger perspective on describing and understanding these past realities. It is also focused on "reading" the schooling evidences of the historical period (schools and pupils enrolled) within the political, socio-economical, demographical, institutional context and especially trough the local implementation of educational policies. 21. SCANDINAVIAN MODEL BETWEEN ASPIRATIONS AND ACHIEVEMENTS.

The European social models that emerged in Europe are answers to various problems faced by micro and macroeconomic activity. An insight into the economic situation of all European social models emphasizes that the Nordic model has the highest efficiency in terms of economic results. The states that belong to the scandinavian model are characterized by stable economic growth, strong social democracy, a strong trade union movement, low levels of corruption and universality of the system that helps companies to overcome difficult moments. This paper highlights the micro and macroeconomic policies that have led to economic stability and very good results in terms of living standards. The main hypothesis of the paper assumes that investments in education and workforce improvement led to the growth of the living standards in the Scandinavian model. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Lately we are speaking increasingly more about progress, peace, cooperation, understanding and integration in the context of increased efforts to level the inherent differences between individuals or groups of individuals, belonging to different cultural and ideological traditions. But if we do not want all these aspirations to lead to a new Tower of Babel, it must be borne in mind the consideration as a whole and as a particular the real anthropological context of human development, in terms of immanentotranscendental axiology, the two coordinate whose balance determines the progress and the regress of history. From this perspective, the practical approach to an issue so ambitious is obliged to take into account, first the importance both of the spiritual and rational factor understood in its full forming dimension. This paper is intended to be a concise and systematic exposure of the missionary and proselyte thinking and its relationships with the process of secularization in the democratic environment of the XXI century. 27. Preliminarii la problema limbii române în R.S.S. Moldovenească în primii ani după război, 1944-1948.

In this paper the author deals with the issue of the Romanian language in the Moldavian SSR during the first postwar years. CC of the CP(B) from Moldavian SSR tried several times to determine the loyal researchers from the Institute of Scientific Research to organize teams for writing textbooks of Romanian (named by them Moldavian) language and literature. Also existed the intention to organize courses for Party staff the main part of whom came from abroad and didn't know the Romanian language. All these attempts failes as it shows the report of V. Efimenko who came from Moscow to evaluate the situation of the national staff in the republic in 1947. Even if Moldavian were 68% of inhabitants, in Universities only 25% of students had Moldavian origin. The question of the language was discussed also by writers, but they hadn't the initiative on this topic and waited for suggestions from above. For the majority of the inhabitants the main problem concerning the enseignment was the lack of the textbooks of Romanian Language and Literature, and that's why several times the newspaper were used as source of working texts. This first stage of avatars of the Romanian language in Moldavian SSR ends in 1948 when the Ministery of Education organized a control at the Pedagogical Institute from Chisinau, to establish the way the language and literature were taught. The conclusion was that at the Institute had no textbboks on several courses and the Council of Ministers from Moldavian SSR had to impose the Institute of History, Language and Literature to elaborate the programs for teaching Moldavian language and literature in Universities. - Abstract
This article is a brief study of sociological research in the archives. The method used is that of observation, respectively of the comparative study of the documents and interpretation of the selected information. The researcher aims to bring in actuality and to present, especially for young readers, secure and unclassified information about the communist educational system and the party propaganda. The paper contains few comments, the content, almost entirely consisting of official data and information belonging to the Archives Fund of the Town Committee Targu Jiu of the RCP. Most of the research activity in archives has been allocated to study "the education through work and for work", "the propaganda work" of the party and "the political-ideological education", as forms of mass education in the communist totalitarian stateThe article, by its content especially well documented, is constituted in a guidebook for those who are concerned with the research of the totalitarian communist regime in Romania. 30. INFLUENCE OF MACROECONOMIC IMBALANCES ON THE EDUCATION SPENDING.

- Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the link between unemployment and inflation, on the one hand, and spending on education, on the other hand. The analyzed period is 1996-2010 and the data used provided to the National Institute of Statistics and Eurostat. Were calculated relative change of the final expenditure of households, relative change in the share of education spending in total household consumption while identifying the relationship between these indicators. We calculated the correlation coefficients between these indicators. After analyzing the data it was found that, during 1996-2010, the correlation coefficient between the change in the unemployment rate and the change in the expenditure on education in final consumption of households has a value close to 1, so a direct relationship strong, and the rate of change inflation and the change in the expenditure on education in final consumption of households is negative and close to zero, therefore an inverse, but weak. Therefore, expenditures on education are directly influenced by the evolution of the unemployment rate, but not inflation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aim of this paper is to summarize a series of specific arguments for Dewey s "new type of education " reprezenting a new beginning for the way in which democracy should be applied into all the spheres of social and political life, and especially in education. The pragmatic conception of knowledge is enriched in the Dewey's view by a social dimension impossible to ignore. If the pragmatism insists on the idea of knowledge as a tool to adapt to the environment, and if the human environment is essentially social, then knowledge has a fundamental social dimension, which must be taken into account in organizing education. A review of intelligence literature from Romania last century provides an overview of the concerns and themes addressed by the specialists in the field. The main topics are the history landing field and related case studies. Up to this point there is no major paper on the theory of scientific intelligence domain particular to Romanian historical and ideological framework, which bear the mark of identity of this nation. Lack of this theory of domain led to the evolution and development of an intelligence system based mainly on the operational or practical current activities and out of line with other competitive systems of intelligence. As a result, this development has been marked by a certain type of agnatological intelligence in detriment of an epistemological intelligence, necessary for all, especially those in the operational plan. Throughout history, these latter came to substitute, perhaps unintended, the roles of the trinominal research-education-operational, subjugating research and education tasks through operational, without distinguish existence of mental maps and different knowledge cycles. - Abstract
At the moment, Romanian society feels the problems of the modern individual, of the pupil who hesitates between the family and the school environment, by trying to educate him in the spirit of consciousness and the moral. It is necessary to know that education and self-education hold the need and the availability of every person to form at school (or during the period of its schooling), but also in society. The media attract more and more the attention of the young people to the detriment of the reading and of the discovery of their own identity. Our approach suggests putting in the foreground the importance of the literary text of the textbooks of Romanian language as a means of promotion of the moral values. The study of the literary texts represents a method of reception of the models of language used by writers in their papers. At the same time, their "communicative" models contributes to the orientation of the pupils to the non-literary texts (that they discover easily in magazines and newspapers) towards those literary persons, over whom they bend with interest; in this way, the act of reading acquires new valences. The development of any field relies heavily on its capacity to identify, select and define a body of key-concepts and theories, an episteme1, that would provide the theoretical basis for any future research in the field. The on-going debates both inside the Romanian intelligence and academic communities regarding the intelligence activities taking place in this country are still lacking substance and drive, in comparison with global social and technological development. Moreover, there is a need for more academically-grounded papers in the field that would address in a systematic and detailed manner issues related to security and intelligence. In this context, the purpose of this article, the first from a future series, is to shed some light on various meanings of the terms security and intelligence so that we may reach a common understanding on the nature of intelligence in a Romanian context so that we may make the first steps towards developing a theory and a doctrinal framework that will contribute to the process of building a national intelligence system in Romania. This paper aims to achieve an analysis of the measures taken at the secondary level of education in the first decade of interwar period, underlining that despite the economic, social and political difficulties faced by Romania after World War I, education and culture were seen as tools that grind humanity and create the pillars of the society. This study emphasizes the interest of the legislative power to promote education in order to raise the cultural level of the masses, focusing on the main movements made toward the adoption of fundamental laws that organize studies in secondary schools. Therefore, it examines educational policy in terms of renewal and modernization at the secondary level of education, marking initiatives that advocated the role of schools in shaping the masses and the importance of educational reform in the general welfare of the Romanian society. Overall, it became obvious that in the search for adequate material, social, financial, economic or agricultural solutions, the consolidation can be accomplished only by a deep moral reform, reform which cannot be achieved other way than by school. The current article is aimed at highlighting the general aspects of the relationship between the ageing process and non-formal education. The global context, described as presenting various challenges, does not seem favorable at all to the elderly who are forced by specific circumstances to develop into important social actors for the next half of the century. With demographic ageing reaching an escalating level, it is widely agreed the fact that feasible solutions are to be introduced in our discussion. Therefore, adequate social programs meant to raise awareness while minimizing the risk of societies' malfunctions proved to be our uppermost concern. Many characteristics of social assistance contribute to answering the needs of certain social categories, but with respect to the present situation, a single attribute comes to proeminence: that of proactively using the educational function. Pursuing our objective, we advocate shaping the lifestyle of the, generally speaking, old person through lifelong education and in this case the role of the social worker is marked by his catalysis dimension to ensure a subtle transition from the methodology centered on the professional to „elder” target. Furthermore, we are trying to provide an insight into the main roles played by the social worker in what regards the process of education. At the end of the article, we cast light on essential elements considering the professional supervision of the social worker in their relationship with the beneficiary. The works of the Metropolitan Bishop Bartolomeu Anania (1921-2011) comprises various aspects of both the Romanian (and universal) spirituality and the ecclesiastical one; the last one include his Pastorals, which he addressed to the clergy and believers of the Archiepiscopate of Vad, Feleac and Cluj and had written for Christmas and Easter during 1993-2010 (the 1993 Easter and the 2010 Christmas); from great number of spiritual teachings of the above mentioned Pastorals, we presented in this paper only the ones which referred to the Christian Family; although he did not wanted to present exclusively this issue, in one of them we find out important references to the Christian family; the monogamous marriage is a divine will; chastity before marriage is a divine commandment; giving birth to children inside the marriage is Godlike; children, adolescents and young people who intend to get married shall receive elect religious education; he speaks about the good relationships between husband and wife; he also speaks about original sins such as: abortion, adultery, homosexuality etc; his piece of advice is very important in a world which is in a material and spiritual crisis, in a drift epoch, in which, more than ever, people are threatened to get out forever from the history of the world. The article draws a picture of sports activities in the interwar period, involving the "Andrei Şaguna" High School in Braşov, an elite educational institution in Transylvania. Among the sportive regional competitions in which they frequently participated in, are watchman celebrations, the athletic contest organized by the Braşov Physical Education service, the inter-school competition for athletics in the region, organized by the School Inspectorate, handball, volleyball, football competitions and ping-pong. Of particular importance was the "Zaharia Florian Cup" / "Ski Schools Cup", held annually in Poiana Braşov, which also involved other educational institutions in the area, such as the Saxon School of Commerce, the Romanian School of Commerce, the School of Arts and Crafts, the C.F.R.
