Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the role of the courts in sustainable development. Particular focus is given to the case of East Africa, with special mention of the countries of Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, which are developing countries, with high poverty rates, and whose economies depend on their natural resources. The authors discuss possible ways to improve the judicial systems in such countries in order to promote their sustainable development.
