Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have revolutionized portable electronics, yet their conventional graphite anodes face capacity limitations. Integrating graphene and 3D molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) offers a promising solution. Ensuring a uniform distribution of 3D MoS2 nanostructures within a graphene matrix is crucial for optimizing battery performance and preventing issues like agglomeration and capacity degradation. This study focuses on synthesizing a uniformly distributed paper wad structure by optimizing a composite of reduced graphene oxide RGO@MoS2 through structural and morphological analyses. Three composites with varying graphene content were synthesized, revealing that the optimized sample containing 30 mg RGO demonstrates beneficial synergy between MoS2 and RGO. The interconnected RGO network enhances reactivity and conductivity, addressing MoS2 aggregation. Experimental results exhibit an initially superior capacity of 911 mAh g−1, retained at 851 mAh g−1 even after 100 cycles at 0.1 A g−1 current density, showcasing improved rate efficiency and long-term stability. Filter cloth brush-coating (FCBC), using soft filter cloth as a brush-coating medium, in conjunction with viscous silver nanowire (AgNW) conductive solution, is used to prepare AgNW conductive films. The density and uniformity of AgNWs deposited on the substrate are controlled by the interplay between the filter cloth aperture, the conductive solution viscosity, and the brush-coating speed. Further, with appropriate AgNW concentration and flow rate, uniform AgNW transparent conductive film with sheet resistance of 18 Ω sq−1 and transmittance of 94% at 550 nm is acquired by FCBC. Due to the precise control of the coating process in FCBC, large-area uniform AgNW conductive film fabricated on printing paper has a low non-uniformity factor of 1.2% at a sheet resistance of 19.0 Ω sq−1. The resultant paper-based AgNW film heater shows sensitive and stable heating performance. FCBC shows great potential in producing large-area uniform AgNW films on various substrates. We report for the first time MoS2/CNT hybrid nanostructures for memristor applications on flexible and bio-degradable cellulose paper. In our approach, we varied two different weight percentages (10% and 20%) of CNT's in MoS2 to improve the MoS2 conductivity and investigate the memristor device characteristics. The device with 10% CNT shows a low V SET voltage of 2.5 V, which is comparatively small for planar devices geometries. The device exhibits a long data retention time and cyclic current–voltage stability of ∼104 s and 102 cycles, making it a potential candidate in flexible painted electronics. Along with good electrical performance, it also demonstrates a high mechanical stability for 1000 bending cycles. The conduction mechanism in the MoS2-CNT hybrid structure is corroborated by percolation and defect-induced filament formation. Additionally, the device displays synaptic plasticity performance, simulating potentiation and depression processes. Furthermore, such flexible and biodegradable cellulose-based paper electronics may pave the way to address the environmental pollution caused by electronic waste in the near future. The scaling of galaxy properties with halo mass suggests that feedback loops regulate star formation, but there is no consensus yet about how those feedback loops work. To help clarify discussions of galaxy-scale feedback, Paper I presented a very simple model for supernova feedback that it called the minimalist regulator model. This follow-up paper interprets that model and discusses its implications. The model itself is an accounting system that tracks all of the mass and energy associated with a halo's circumgalactic baryons—the central galaxy's atmosphere. Algebraic solutions for the equilibrium states of that model reveal that star formation in low-mass halos self-regulates primarily by expanding the atmospheres of those halos, ultimately resulting in stellar masses that are insensitive to the mass-loading properties of galactic winds. What matters most is the proportion of supernova energy that couples with circumgalactic gas. However, supernova feedback alone fails to expand galactic atmospheres in higher-mass halos. According to the minimalist regulator model, an atmospheric contraction crisis ensues, which may be what triggers strong black hole feedback. The model also predicts that circumgalactic medium properties emerging from cosmological simulations should depend largely on the specific energy of the outflows they produce, and we interpret the qualitative properties of several numerical simulations in light of that prediction. Encouraged by the goal of achieving net-zero carbon emission by 2050, the exploration of insulating material becomes one of the core projects to the electrical equipment innovations. The rise of composites enables the insulating material to be endowed with more functions. By this concern, adopting the coupling agents is one of the effective methods to improve the compatibility of composites, which highly strengthens the desired properties. The functional groups of coupling agents, nevertheless, could not always show a positive impact to access enhanced properties. In this work, four types of silane coupling agents including amino-propyl, glycidyletheroxy-propyl (GP), vinyl, and methacryloxy-propyl functional groups are employed to modify the aluminum nitride (AlN) fillers, and the modification effects on the insulating and thermal conductivity of the AlN/poly(m-phenylenedicarbonyl-m-phenylenediamine) (PMIA) composite paper are systematically investigated and compared. The results show that a proper coupling agent is beneficial to the uniform dispersion of the inorganic filler in the organic matrix and highly contributes to their interface quality, where the heat transfer path is established that boosts the heat dissipation. By tailoring the trap depth and density toward deeper and higher, the carrier transport is highly confined which enhances the breakdown strength to a large extent. Therefore, high breakdown strength and thermal conductivity of 182.9 kV mm−1 and 0.302 W (m·K)−1, respectively, are achieved in the GP modified AlN/PMIA paper, which are 16.7% and 167.4% higher than that of pure PMIA paper. We introduce and study the spatial replicator equation with higher order interactions and both infinite (spatially homogeneous) populations and finite (spatially inhomogeneous) populations. We show that in the special case of three strategies (rock–paper–scissors) higher order interaction terms allow travelling waves to emerge in non-declining finite populations. We show that these travelling waves arise from diffusion stabilisation of an unstable interior equilibrium point that is present in the aspatial dynamics. Based on these observations and prior results, we offer two conjectures whose proofs would fully generalise our results to all odd cyclic games, both with and without higher order interactions, assuming a spatial replicator dynamic. The usual gravitational wave memory effect can be understood as a change in the separation of two initially comoving observers due to a burst of gravitational waves. Over the past few decades, a wide variety of other, 'persistent' observables which measure permanent effects on idealized detectors have been introduced, each probing distinct physical effects. These observables can be defined in (regions of) any spacetime where there exists a notion of radiation, such as perturbation theory off of a fixed background, nonlinear plane wave spacetimes, or asymptotically flat spacetimes. Many of the persistent observables defined in the literature have only been considered in asymptotically flat spacetimes, and the perturbative nature of such calculations has occasionally obscured deeper relationships between these observables that hold more generally. The goal of this paper is to show how these more general results arise, and to do so we focus on two observables related to the separation between two, potentially accelerated observers. The first is the curve deviation, which is a natural generalization of the displacement memory, and also contains what this paper proposes to call drift memory (previously called 'subleading displacement memory') and ballistic memory. The second is a relative proper time shift that arises between the two observers, either at second order in their initial separation and relative velocity, or in the presence of relative acceleration. The results of this paper are, where appropriate, entirely non-perturbative in the curvature of spacetime, and so could be used beyond leading order in asymptotically flat spacetimes. Recent progress in the in situ synthesise of various nanomaterials has gained tremendous interest and wide applications in various fields. For the first time to the best of our knowledge, this work reports a methodology of ultra-fast in situ synthesis of cobalt–cobalt oxide-reduced graphene oxide (Co−Co3O4−rGO (CC–rGO)) composite by laser ablation. The photothermal reduction technique was leveraged to develop the CC–rGO. For this, a low-cost 450 nm blue diode laser was irradiated onto a grade 1 filter paper in the presence of cobalt ions readily patterns the carbon matrix of paper to the composite material. Moreover, the variation of cobalt concentrations from 0.1–0.5 M led to structural and morphological changes. Standard techniques were adopted for thorough characterizations of developed sensor material for conductivity analysis, specific surface area, crystal-structural information, surface morphology, and chemical composition. The observed results were highly promoting towards the electrochemical sensing applications. Further, the developed sensor was found to be highly selective toward detecting a vital bio analyte alkaline phosphatase (ALP). The sensors performance was highly significant in the linear range of 10–800 mU l−1 with a detection limit of 10.13 mU l−1. The sensors applicability was further validated in actual human serum samples via a recovery-based approach. The dynamic and non-linear nature of complex chemical processes often leads to low prediction accuracy of key quality variables by traditional soft sensors, thus affecting the overall system control accuracy and operational efficiency. Therefore, this paper proposes a semi-supervised soft sensor modelling method based on improved the northern goshawk optimization (INGO)-variable mode decomposition (VMD)-echo state network (ESN). Firstly, a new semi-supervised fusion method is proposed to address the problem of model training difficulty due to the scarcity of labelled samples and process dynamics, which reconstructs the sample dataset by fusing labelled and unlabelled samples into more representative new samples, improving the model's generalization ability. Secondly, for the noise interference present in the reconstructed data, the input data is denoised using the VMD method to improve the quality of data. Then, a soft sensor model is built based on ESN. Additionally, the denoising and prediction performance of VMD and ESN is significantly affected by parameters, therefore the paper utilizes the INGO algorithm to achieve parameter rectification for VMD and ESN. Finally, the method is validated based on actual sulphur recovery data from a refinery. The results demonstrate that the method effectively mitigates the impact of dynamics and nonlinearity in the complex chemical process which enhances prediction accuracy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Perfluoroisobutyronitrile (C4F7N) gas mixture is considered one of the most promising alternative gases for SF6 due to its excellent environmental protection and insulation performance. At present, the Shanghai region of China has adopted 8.5% C4F7N-86% CO2-5.5% O2 proportion gas mixture as the insulation medium for 126 kV gas insulated switchgear and has put it into practical engineering application. This paper conducted decomposition experiments on the proportion gas mixture under spark discharge, suspension discharge, and corona discharge conditions, respectively. The composition analysis of the decomposition products was carried out using a gas chromatography mass spectrometry and a gas chromatography-pulsed discharge helium ionization detector, which got decomposition products of the C4F7N/CO2/O2 gas mixture under discharge faults mainly include CO, CF4, C3F8, C4F8, C3F6, and CF3CN. According to the decomposition path of the C4F7N gas mixture, this paper selected three primary decomposition products (CO, CF4, C3F8) and one secondary decomposition product (C4F8) for the correlation characterization of discharge types, and proposed the ratios of c(CO)/c(CF4) and c(C4F8)/c(C3F8) as the characteristic quantities to characterize the different discharge types. Finally, in order to accurately identify the C4F7N/CO2/O2 gas mixture discharge type, this paper chose the decision tree algorithm to build a identification tree. The final identification result indicates that the ratio of c (CO)/c (CF4) and c (C4F8)/c (C3F8) can be used as the identification criterion for typical discharge fault types. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study investigates the application of a Wheatstone bridge, specifically through the utilization of a meter bridge constructed on chart paper using pencil graphite. Employing the Wheatstone bridge principle, this study aims to achieve precise measurements of an unknown resistance. Results indicate an error margin between measured and calculated values of less than 10%, highlighting the efficiency and accuracy of this approach. The demonstrated effectiveness of the meter bridge serves as an educational resource, particularly beneficial for K-12 students, providing practical understanding and hands-on experience with the meter bridge concept. Traditional simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) systems are typically based on the assumption of a static environment. However, in practical applications, the presence of moving objects significantly reduces localization accuracy, limiting the system's versatility. To address the challenges of SLAM systems in dynamic environments, the academic community often employs computationally intensive methods such as deep learning, and some algorithms rely on expensive sensors (e.g. LiDAR or RGB-D cameras) to obtain depth information. These factors increase computational complexity or hardware costs, complicating practical deployment. To improve localization accuracy and adaptability of SLAM systems in dynamic scenarios while maintaining low deployment costs, this paper proposes a dynamic environment robust monocular inertial SLAM system named LDVI-SLAM. The system uses more cost-effective sensors—monocular cameras and inertial measurement unit (IMU)—along with lightweight computational methods. In LDVI-SLAM, first, the reliability of IMU data is verified. Then, using the ego-motion information provided by the IMU, along with epipolar constraint and an improved rotation-aware flow vector bound (R-FVB) constraint, dynamic feature points are eliminated. Additionally, this paper proposes a continuous tracking across interval frames method to enhance the distinction between static and dynamic feature points. Experimental results demonstrate that LDVI-SLAM performs effectively in dynamic environments and is easy to deploy. On the Visual-Inertial Odometry in Dynamic Environments dataset, experimental results show that compared to the deep learning-based DynaSLAM, this method reduces the root mean square error of absolute trajectory error by 10.3%. Moreover, in terms of speed, under the same computing power, the single-frame processing speed of this method is comparable to ORB-SLAM3 and is two orders of magnitude faster than DynaSLAM, significantly outperforming deep learning-based SLAM algorithms. Experiments on the Oxford Multimotion Dataset further prove that this method effectively avoids the risk of semantic classification errors, demonstrating better robustness and generality. In the field of automatic bulk material loading, accurate detection of the profile of the material pile in the compartment can control its height and distribution, thus improving the loading efficiency and stability, therefore, this paper proposes a new method for pile detection based on cross-source point cloud registration. First, 3D point cloud data are simultaneously collected using lidar and binocular camera. Second, feature points are extracted and described based on 3D scale-invariant features and 3D shape contexts algorithms, and then feature points are used in progressive sample consensus algorithm to complete coarse matching. Then, bi-directional KD-tree accelerated iterative closest point is established to complete the fine registration. Ultimately, the detection of the pile contour is realized by extracting the point cloud boundary after the registration. The experimental results show that the registration errors of this method are reduced by 54.2%, 52.4%, and 14.9% compared with the other three algorithms, and the relative error of the pile contour detection is less than 0.2%. The second generation (2G) high-temperature superconducting (HTS) REBCO tape and the HTS cable made by the REBCO company are considered to be alternative materials for future superconducting magnet design due to their exceptional performance. The twisted stacked-tape slotted-core (TSSC) cable-in-conduit-conductor cable, which is one of the crucial layout structures in HTS cables, has been extensively studied by numerous research groups over the years. In this paper, a 3D finite element model of the TSSC HTS cable under bending and axial tensile loads is established using the bilinear isotropic hardening model in COMSOL commercial finite element software. The mechanical behavior of the TSSC cable under bending and axial tensile loads, as well as the evolution process of overall cable performance and critical current of individual tapes inside slots, are revealed by conducting mechanical analysis and using an empirical fitting formula between the critical current density of the 2G HTS tapes and axial strain. Furthermore, optimization engineering suggestions for its structure are provided, such as reducing the twist pitch, decreasing the tape width, increasing the number of tapes, reducing the slot width while avoiding direct contact between tapes and slot walls, increasing the number of slots, increasing diameter of diversion trench and inner diameter of helical core under predominant bending loads. In the case of axial tensile loads, the aforementioned suggestions are also applicable except for the inner and outer diameters of the helical core. The critical current performance can be enhanced by augmenting the outer diameter of the helical core in this case. However, it is almost unaffected by the inner diameter of the helical core. With the emergence of cutting-edge hardware systems such as cloud computing, edge computing, and on-chip neural network accelerators, how to design advanced memory strategies to substitute the traditional ones for maximizing the potential performance of non-volatile memory (NVM) under the existing hardware conditions, has become an urgent research issue for both academia and industrial communities. It is promising and innovative to improve computer systems in the layer of data exchanging with the emerging advanced semiconductor devices. In the paper, to address the inefficiencies of write-intensive, high power consumption, low hit rate and so on, which exist in hybrid magnetic random access memory cache systems, three novel cache replacement strategies and two cache prefetching strategies are put forward. The proposed triple novel replacement strategies, including historical frequency and time judgments, duplicate data-aware deletion, and dynamic relevance factors computing, can be utilized to compensate for the shortcomings of the traditional least recently used replacement strategy, respectively. In the two novel prefetching strategies, region distribution parameters and Listnet ranking network are imported into the caching process, respectively, to achieve optimized hitting performance. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed replacement strategies can achieve up to 61.76%, 84.91%, 56.49%, and 53.21% optimization of write count, hit rate, dynamic power, and IPC compared to the conventional one. The proposed prefetching strategy can achieve up to 91.27%, 49.25% hit rate and IPC optimization. Meanwhile, the synthetic evaluation of the replacement and prefetching strategies are elaborated in the paper, including multi-core characteristics, information entropy, interplays and the performance constraints between replacement and prefetching mechanism, which would facilitate more credible ideas for future memory inefficiencies management and strategy design. This paper presents a new framework for understanding the relationship between a galaxy and its circumgalactic medium (CGM). It focuses on how imbalances between heating and cooling cause either expansion or contraction of the CGM. It does this by tracking all of the mass and energy associated with a halo's baryons, including their gravitational potential energy, even if feedback has pushed some of those baryons beyond the halo's virial radius. We show how a star-forming galaxy's equilibrium state can be algebraically derived within the context of this framework, and we analyze how the equilibrium star formation rate depends on supernova feedback. We consider the consequences of varying the mass loading parameter η M ≡ M ̇ wind / M ̇ * relating a galaxy's gas mass outflow rate ( M ̇ wind ) to its star formation rate ( M ̇ * ) and obtain results that challenge common assumptions. In particular, we find that equilibrium star formation rates in low-mass galaxies are generally insensitive to mass loading, and when mass loading does matter, increasing it actually results in more star formation because more supernova energy is needed to resist atmospheric contraction.
