Avoiding financial losses requires preventing catastrophic oil‐filled power transformer breakdowns. Continuous online transformer monitoring is needed. The authors use paper insulation to evaluate transformer health for continuous online transformer monitoring. The study suggests a new artificial intelligence method for estimating paper insulation residual life in oil‐immersed power transformers. The four artificial intelligence models use backpropagation‐based neural networks to predict paper insulation lifespan. Four primary transformer insulating paper failure indices—degree of polymerisation, 2‐furfuraldehyde, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide—form the basis of these models. Each model, including the backpropagation‐based neural networks, estimates paper insulation life using one failure index, along with moisture and temperature data. Optimisation techniques enhance hidden layer neurons and epoch count for improved performance. Results are validated against literature‐based life models, establishing a precise input–output correlation. This method accurately predicts the remaining useable life of power transformer paper insulation, enabling utilities to take proactive measures for safe and efficient transformer operation. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether there are differences in handwritten Chinese signatures on different media including paper and electronic devices. Participants were asked to sign specified names on various types of media and the signatures were scanned or saved digitally for subsequent analysis. In this study, using convolutional neural networks and Siamese neural networks as classifiers and comparators, the performance plunge is revealed and thus considerable dissimilarity between the signatures on different media is implied. To further explore this, cubic Bézier curves are fitted to the signatures using the least square method for quantitative statistical analysis. By analyzing the visual changes in the morphology of strokes, several features of signatures are selected and computed, and the paired t‐test and the Wilcoxon signed‐rank test are implemented, which provides a deeper substantiation and explanation of the findings. A low‐temperature technology for fabricating thin‐film transistors (TFTs) is essential for the realization of electronic systems on flexible substrates. Presently reviewed are improved techniques for forming the source/drain regions and reducing the population of channel defects in a metal‐oxide TFT. These have been applied to the construction of different TFT structures, including ones with bottom gate, top gate, and dual gates. The utility of the improved 300‐°C technology has been demonstrated by the realization of a variety of electronic systems, such as a gate‐driver on array for active‐matrix displays, an analog front‐end for acquiring biopotential signals, and an artificial neural network for neuromorphic computing. The cost for covering active power losses makes a significant item in transmission system operators (TSO) annual budgets, and still it received limited attention in the existing literature. The focus of accurate power loss forecasting and procurement is of high increase during the past 2 years due to spikes in electricity prices, making the cost of covering the active power losses a dominant factor of TSO operational costs. This paper presents practical aspects of the highly accurate models for transmission loss forecast in the day ahead time frame for the Croatian transmission system. The contributions are two‐fold: 1) Practical insights into usable TSO data are provided, filling a critical research gap and a foundational literature review is established on transmission loss forecasting. 2) A novel method utilizing only electricity transit data as input which outperforms existing practices is presented. For this, several algorithms such as gradient boosted decision tree model (XGB), support vector regressors, multiple linear regression and fully connected feedforward artificial neural networks are developed, and implemented and validated on data obtained from the Croatian TSO. The results show that the XGB model outperforms current TSO model by 32% for 4 months of comparison and TSCNET's commercial solution by 25% during a year‐long testing period. This paper proposes a hybrid data‐driven and physics‐based simulation technique for seismic response evaluation of steel Buckling‐Restrained Braced Frames (BRBFs) considering brace fracture. Buckling‐Restrained Brace (BRB) fracture is represented by cumulative plastic deformation capacity. A dataset, consisting of 95 past BRB laboratory tests and 120 simulated BRB responses generated using the finite element method, is first developed. An Artificial Neural Network‐based (ANN) predictive model is then trained using the training dataset to estimate the cumulative plastic deformation of BRBs. The prediction capability of the ANN‐based predictive model is validated using the training dataset and an existing regression‐based predictive model. In the second part of the paper, an hybrid simulation technique combining the data‐driven model and physics‐based numerical modeling is presented to conduct the nonlinear time history analysis, followed by 1) validation against a full‐scale BRBF testing and 2) demonstration of the proposed simulation technique using a six‐story BRBF. The results confirm that the proposed predictive model can predict the BRB fracture with sufficient accuracy. Medical image colouring techniques enable to colourize grey‐scale medical images for assisting doctors in diagnosis. Benefiting from the non‐linear fitting ability of deep neural network, deep medical image colouring techniques have achieved remarkable results. However, existing methods are still facing content and structure feature leakage, unrealistic colouring and poor scale invariability. Thus, this paper, proposes a Transformer‐based medical image colouring algorithm with long‐term dependency to avoid feature leakage of coloured images. To be specific, this method employs two different Transformer encoders to generate and encode feature sequences for grey‐scale medical images and real human colour slice images, respectively. Then, a novel multi‐layer Transformer decoder is used to stylize grey‐scale map image features based on the real physical colour feature sequences. For colouring images at different scales, we implement content‐ aware positional encoding with scale invariance and propose style‐aware positional encoding strategy to take realistic and physical colour prior into account. Deep learning‐based models have become ubiquitous across a wide range of applications, including computer vision, natural language processing, and robotics. Despite their efficacy, one of the significant challenges associated with deep neural network (DNN) models is the potential risk of copyright leakage due to the inherent vulnerability of the entire model architecture and the communication burden of the large models during publishing. So far, it is still challenging for us to safeguard the intellectual property rights of these DNN models while reducing the communication time during model publishing. To this end, this paper introduces a novel approach using knowledge distillation techniques aimed at training a surrogate model to stand in for the original DNN model. To be specific, a knowledge distillation generative adversarial network (KDGAN) model is proposed to train a student model capable of achieving remarkable performance levels while simultaneously safeguarding the copyright integrity of the original large teacher model and improving communication efficiency during model publishing. Herein, comprehensive experiments are conducted to showcase the efficacy of model copyright protection, communication‐efficient model publishing, and the superiority of the proposed KDGAN model over other copyright protection mechanisms. Microgrids play a pivotal role in modern power distribution systems, necessitating precise control methodologies to tackle challenges such as performance instability, especially during islanding operations. This paper introduces an advanced control strategy that employs artificial intelligence, specifically deep neural network (DNN) predictions, to enhance microgrid performance, particularly in an islanding mode where voltage and frequency (VaF) deviations are critical concerns. By utilizing real‐time data and historical trends, the proposed controller accurately forecasts power demand and generation patterns, enabling proactive planning and optimization of efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in microgrid management. One significant aspect of this approach is to establish an intelligent distributed control system that minimizes reliance on communication devices while ensuring that VaF remains within acceptable limits. Moreover, it consolidates the roles of primary and secondary controllers within the microgrid and facilitates the prediction of load changes and load injection processes. This capability significantly reduces microgrid VaF deviations, enhancing system performance through precise power distribution and balanced coordination among distributed generators. Consequently, it ensures the stability and reliability of the system. In this paper, a Hopfield‐type neural network system with Caputo–Hadamard fractional derivative is discussed. The importance of the existence of the equilibrium point in the analysis of artificial neural networks is well known. Another important investigation is the stability properties. So, the stability of a neural network system is dealt with in the present paper. First, a theorem that asserts the existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium point of the system is proven. Later, the conditions that ensure the Mittag‐Leffler stability of the equilibrium point is obtained by using the Lyapunov's direct method. The present review paper addresses the increasing interest in the application of machine learning (ML) algorithms in the assessment of the fatigue response of additively manufactured (AM) metal alloys. This review aims to systematically collect, categorize, and analyze relevant research papers in this domain. The most commonly used ML algorithms are presented, discussing their specific relevance to the fatigue modeling of AM metal alloys. A detailed analysis of the most relevant input features used in the literature to predict the main parameters related to the fatigue response is provided. Each work has been analyzed to highlight its strengths and peculiarities, thereby offering insights into novel methodologies and approaches for addressing critical challenges within this field. Particular attention is dedicated to the role of defects and the related size‐effect, as they strongly influence the fatigue response. In conclusion, this review not only synthesizes existing knowledge but also offers forward‐looking recommendations for future research directions, providing a valuable resource for researchers in the domain of ML‐assisted fatigue assessment for AM metal alloys. Summary: Multimodal sentiment analysis is a popular research direction in the field of affective computing. It extends unimodal‐based sentiment analysis to the environment based on multimodal information exchange. Face retrieval is the most critical technology in the current multimodal sentiment analysis field. Traditional methods for face retrieval rely on large amounts of data to train the matching relationship between text and face images. This approach suffers from several issues, including high data acquisition costs, insufficient or poor quality training data, and high computational costs for training models. To address the aforementioned issues, this paper proposes a face retrieval technique that merges a large language model with a visual base model. This technique explores the use of zero samples for training, eliminating the need to collect data and train the model to achieve face retrieval. As a result, it significantly reduces the cost requirements of data and computational power. First, an accurate natural text of face description is generated using a large language model based on cue engineering based on face‐independent features. Second, the text and images are encoded using a visual base model and mapped into the same multidimensional space for matching. The experimental results indicate that this method performs well on the CelebA dataset. Extracting 31 different sets of face feature descriptions from the CelebA dataset for retrieval achieves 72% on top1 accuracy and 93% on top3 accuracy. Compared to traditional methods, the method proposed in this paper achieves considerable face retrieval accuracy without collecting text image pairs of data and without training the model. High‐precision observation of significant wave height (SWH) is crucial for marine research. The Surface Waves Investigation and Monitoring (SWIM) aboard the China France Oceanography Satellite (CFOSAT) provides the ocean wave spectrum that allows for the calculation of the off‐nadir SWH parameters, but there exists a certain bias with the in‐situ SWH values. To improve the accuracy of the SWH calculation bias from the off‐nadir 6°, 8°, 10° wave spectra and the whole combined spectrum, this paper establishes a spatio‐temporal hybrid model that combines convolutional neural network (CNN) and long short‐term memory network (LSTM). Additionally, to further correct bias exhibited under high sea state, we introduce a bias correction module based on deep neural network (DNN) to adjust the SWIM off‐nadir SWH greater than 4 m. The experimental results demonstrate a significant enhancement in the accuracy of corrected SWIM off‐nadir SWH, and the best calibration result is 10° with 0.267 m root mean square error (RMSE), and 0.979 correlation coefficient (R) compared with the ERA5 value. We conducted a comprehensive study and analysis on the performance of the proposed model under different wave heights, extreme sea states, and wind and swell regions. Meanwhile, the buoy and altimeters are leveraged to render further evaluation the RMSE of the corrected SWH is less than 0.5 m. Plain Language Summary: The Surface Waves Investigation and Monitoring (SWIM) on the China France Oceanography Satellite (CFOSAT) provides wave data support for ocean research. However, the significant wave height (SWH) parameter calculated from the SWIM off‐nadir spectra has a certain bias from the real value due to the influence of speckle noise. In order to improve the accuracy of the SWIM off‐nadir SWH parameter, we developed a CNN‐LSTM model and introduced a high sea state bias correction network to improve the accuracy of SWH and achieve the purpose of correction. The analysis evaluated the correction performance across various sea conditions, comparing the corrected SWH data with measurements from altimeters and buoys. The findings demonstrated that the root mean square error of the corrected SWH was consistently below 0.5 m, with a correlation coefficient exceeding 0.940. This underscores the effectiveness of our model in enhancing the precision of nadir SWH data bias from SWIM instruments. This paper proposes a novel packaging evaluation method using corrugated box images and an artificial neural network (ANN). An ANN works in a way similar to that of neurons in a human brain: by making connections between a trained dataset and the new images provided after training. The ANN has been implemented in the industry in various ways but limited in packaging evaluation. This paper is focused on the corrugated box damage prediction using ANN with the Orange Data Mining platform. By capturing the damaged corrugated box images with an ANN, damaged products can be identified allowing a decision to be made as to what type of package failure occurred. One of the benefits to using an ANN to evaluate corrugated box images is that it allows for the evaluation of package protection in a real distribution environment as compared to a controlled lab setting. In turn, this reduces the cost of testing, as the package failure will have been identified with the assistance of the ANN, rather than full retesting to identify where damage occurred. Decoupling environment‐dependent response in sensing techniques is essential for the diverse practical applications. This work presents a novel thermal effect decoupling method for sponge pressure sensors based on a deep neural network (DNN) regression model, which is difficult to achieve owing to the material‐ and structure‐related complex effects of the sponge‐based pressure sensor. A poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)‐based multifunctional device is fabricated with a both pressure and thermally responsive part and an only thermally responsive part; and a DNN model with two input features is adapted to implement the substantial pressure prediction system without thermal interference. Proposed model shows the robust decoupled pressure‐sensing capability with high accuracy of ≈96.23% using two input features. It also enables accurate pressure prediction under both the thermally steady and transition regions, which indicates significant potential for a precise measurement system. These results demonstrate the possibility of reliable pressure monitoring under varying thermal conditions, which is important for accurately measuring pressure in complex power plants, human–machine interfaces, and compact wearable platforms. The significant risk associated with fault reactivation often necessitates slip tendency analyses for effective risk assessment. However, such analyses are challenging, particularly in large areas with limited or absent reliable stress measurements and where the cost of extensive geomechanical analyses or simulations is prohibitive. In this paper, we propose a novel approach using a physics‐informed neural network that integrates stress orientation and satellite displacement observations in a top‐down multi‐scale framework to estimate two‐dimensional slip tendency analyses even in regions lacking comprehensive stress data. Our study demonstrates that velocities derived from a continental scale analysis, combined with reliable stress orientation averages, can effectively guide models at smaller scales to generate qualitative slip tendency maps. By offering customizable data selection and stress resolution options, this method presents a robust solution to address data scarcity issues, as exemplified through a case study of the South Australian Eyre Peninsula. Visual information is important in final approach and landing phases for an approaching aircraft, it presents supplementary source for navigation system, and provides backup guidance when radio navigation fails, or even supports a complete vision‐based landing. Relative position and attitude can be solved from the runway features in the image. Traditional runway detection methods have high latency and low accuracy, which is unable to satisfy the requirements for a safe landing. This paper proposes a real‐time runway detection model, efficient runway feature extractor (ERFE), based on deep convolutional neural network, generating semantic segmentation and feature lines output. In order to evaluate the model's effectiveness, a benchmark is proposed to calculate the actual error between predicted feature line and ground truth one. A novel runway dataset which is based on pictures from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 (FS2020), is also proposed in this paper to train and test the model. Eye health has become a global health concern and attracted broad attention. Over the years, researchers have proposed many state‐of‐the‐art convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing ocular diseases efficiently and precisely. However, most existing methods were dedicated to constructing sophisticated CNNs, inevitably ignoring the trade‐off between performance and model complexity. To alleviate this paradox, this paper proposes a lightweight yet efficient network architecture, mixed‐decomposed convolutional network (MDNet), to recognise ocular diseases. In MDNet, we introduce a novel mixed‐decomposed depthwise convolution method, which takes advantage of depthwise convolution and depthwise dilated convolution operations to capture low‐resolution and high‐resolution patterns by using fewer computations and fewer parameters. We conduct extensive experiments on the clinical anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS‐OCT), LAG, University of California San Diego, and CIFAR‐100 datasets. The results show our MDNet achieves a better trade‐off between the performance and model complexity than efficient CNNs including MobileNets and MixNets. Specifically, our MDNet outperforms MobileNets by 2.5% of accuracy by using 22% fewer parameters and 30% fewer computations on the AS‐OCT dataset. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Power system operation and control are based on power flow calculations. In order to solve the uncertainty of the increasing penetration of renewable energy, the voltage fluctuation at the load point increases in the distribution network, and the inaccuracy of the power flow calculation due to the insufficient power flow data collection capability of the traditional power system. In this paper, a data‐driven power flow analysis model is proposed, a back propagation neural network combined with genetic algorithm (GA) and adaptive moment estimation (ADAM) optimization algorithm model is constructed to analyze the power flow calculation method of distribution networks under stochasticity. Firstly, the power flow initial value information, topology characteristics, and power factor index are introduced to construct a training set, and the mapping relationship between bus voltage and power is fully explored by training the regression model. Second, the GA‐ADAM algorithm is used to optimize the initial values and weight parameters of the model. Finally, it is verified based on IEEE‐33 bus distribution model, and the model is used for power flow calculation, and compared with other methods through each relevant error evaluation indicators. This paper introduces a new conceptual model to examine the impact of technological opportunism (technology sensing and response capabilities) on the adoption of incremental and radical technological innovation by small and medium enterprises (SMEs). We tested our hypotheses with data from 228 Indian SMEs using a symmetric method of partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and the asymmetric method of fuzzy–set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) followed by sensitivity analysis done by an artificial neural network (ANN) modeling. PLS-SEM results highlighted the roles of technology sensing and response capabilities as key drivers of both incremental and radical product innovations and the strengthening of these relationships by market uncertainty triggered by external events and crises. Apart from this, the results of fsQCA demonstrated multiple configurations of dimensions associated with the adoption of technological innovations by SMEs. This paper extends the current literature by exploring the process by which SMEs may adopt different types of technological innovation. In recent years, research on infrared and visible image fusion has mainly focused on deep learning‐based approaches, particularly deep neural networks with auto‐encoder architectures. However, these approaches suffer from problems such as insufficient feature extraction capability and inefficient fusion strategies. Therefore, this paper introduces a novel image fusion network to address the limitations of infrared and visible image fusion networks with auto‐encoder architectures. In the designed network, the encoder employs a multi‐branch cascade structure, and these convolution branches with different kernel sizes provide the encoder with an adaptive receptive field to extract multi‐scale features. In addition, the fusion layer incorporates a non‐local attention module that is inspired by the self‐attention mechanism. With its global receptive field, this module is used to build a non‐local attention fusion network, which works together with the l1${l}_1$‐norm spatial fusion strategy to extract, split, filter, and fuse global and local features. Machine learned fault detection approaches are being increasingly used for fault detection in distribution grid. However, the performance of the models can be improved by customizing the models. In this regard, a customised artificial neural network (CANN) for fault detection in a distribution grid is proposed in this paper. The proposed work develops a CANN that combines the "up‐pyramid" and "down‐pyramid" model of ANN into a "custom‐pyramid" model. As a result, the same model can be used both for determining the types of fault as well as its location. The data needed to train the model has been taken from a reconfigured IEEE‐33 bus distribution system developed in Typhoon HIL real‐time simulator. Spectral‐kurtosis is utilized for extraction of features of the faulted transient signals which are used as input data to develop the CANN. The result showcases that the reduction of input features reduces computational complexity without compromising its accuracy. The proposed model classifies fault location with an accuracy of 95.43%. The proposed method also identifies fault type with an accuracy of 96.08%. Several test cases have been developed to test the method. The method proved to be able to perform in most of the cases. With the introduction of more recent deep learning models such as encoder‐decoder, text generation frameworks have gained a lot of popularity. In Natural Language Generation (NLG), controlling the information and style of the output produced is a crucial and challenging task. The purpose of this paper is to develop informative and controllable text using social media language by incorporating topic knowledge into a keyword‐to‐text framework. A novel Topic‐Controllable Key‐to‐Text (TC‐K2T) generator that focuses on the issues of ignoring unordered keywords and utilising subject‐controlled information from previous research is presented. TC‐K2T is built on the framework of conditional language encoders. In order to guide the model to produce an informative and controllable language, the generator first inputs unordered keywords and uses subjects to simulate prior human knowledge. Using an additional probability term, the model increases the likelihood of topic words appearing in the generated text to bias the overall distribution. The proposed TC‐K2T can produce more informative and controllable senescence, outperforming state‐of‐the‐art models, according to empirical research on automatic evaluation metrics and human annotations. In order to balance accuracy and real‐time performance in semantic segmentation, this paper proposes a real‐time semantic segmentation algorithm model based on attention mechanism and multi‐branch feature fusion using Fast convolutional neural network model (Fast‐SCNN). In this method, the spatial detail feature enhancement branch is introduced to enhance spatial detail features firstly. Then, through rational design of fusion module, the feature information of each branch is optimized to achieve better fusion of deep and shallow features. At the end of the feature fusion module, an adaptive feature enhancement focus module is introduced to capture the interdependence between remote pixels. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm achieves 71.55% segmentation accuracy on Cityscapes dataset, the reasoning speed FPS is 97.6 frames/s, and the number of parameters is 1.39 M, which verifies the effectiveness of the network model constructed by the algorithm. This paper explores the use of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) for the rocking problem. The paper adopts rigid rocking blocks of different sizes and slenderness, which undergo rocking motion without sliding and bouncing when subjected to recorded earthquakes. This research focuses on the cases where the blocks overturn or safely return to their initial (rest) position at the end of the ground shaking. An ANN model is trained to efficiently categorise the response into overturning or safe rocking using the structural parameters, ground motion characteristics, and the coefficient of restitution as input. The results show the substantial contribution of velocity and frequency characteristics of the ground motion to overturning. In addition, ANN is used to predict the response amplitude and identify the most critical input variables that govern safe rocking. The analysis reveals that rocking amplitude is governed by a combination of duration, frequency, and intensity characteristics of the ground excitation. Interestingly, the maximum incremental velocity (MIV), a novel intensity measure for the rocking literature, shows a substantial correlation with the rocking amplitude. In this context, this paper proposes closed‐form expressions using the most influential input variables to provide a quick, yet adequately accurate, response prediction. Finally, this study pays special attention to the contribution of the coefficient of restitution, which, in general, is less critical to the peak safe rocking response, while it becomes more important to the overturning response. This paper aims to explore machine learning techniques for post‐processing high‐resolution Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) products for the early detection of convection. Data from the Arome Ensemble Prediction System and satellite observations from the Rapidly Developing Thunderstorm (RDT) product by Météo‐France are used to train a recurrent neural network model to predict areas of total convection and moderate convection. The learning task is formulated as a binary classification problem using a long short‐term memory (LSTM) network architecture. Results from the LSTM model are compared with an object‐based probabilistic approach to forecast convection using metrics such as a receiver operating characteristics (ROC) curve, the Brier score and reliability. Results indicate that the LSTM model performs similarly to the object‐based probabilistic benchmark when classifying moderate convection areas and shows improved skill when classifying areas of total convective. Finally, the LSTM model results are presented within an air traffic management context to showcase the potential use of machine learning models within an operational application. Background: Humans often use co‐speech gestures to promote effective communication. Attention has been paid to the cortical areas engaged in the processing of co‐speech gestures. Aims: To investigate the neural network underpinned in the processing of co‐speech gestures and to observe whether there is a relationship between areas involved in language and gesture processing. Methods & Procedures: We planned to include studies with neurotypical and/or stroke participants who underwent a bimodal task (i.e., processing of co‐speech gestures with relative speech) and a unimodal task (i.e., speech or gesture alone) during a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) session. After a database search, abstract and full‐text screening were conducted. Qualitative and quantitative data were extracted, and a meta‐analysis was performed with the software GingerALE 3.0.2, performing contrast analyses of uni‐ and bimodal tasks. Main Contribution: The database search produced 1024 records. After the screening process, 27 studies were included in the review. Data from 15 studies were quantitatively analysed through meta‐analysis. Meta‐analysis found three clusters with a significant activation of the left middle frontal gyrus and inferior frontal gyrus, and bilateral middle occipital gyrus and inferior temporal gyrus. Conclusions: There is a close link at the neural level for the semantic processing of auditory and visual information during communication. These findings encourage the integration of the use of co‐speech gestures during aphasia treatment as a strategy to foster the possibility to communicate effectively for people with aphasia. Coral reefs are among the most diverse ecosystems on our planet, and essential to the livelihood of hundreds of millions of people who depend on them for food security, income from tourism and coastal protection. Unfortunately, most coral reefs are existentially threatened by global climate change and local anthropogenic pressures. To better understand the dynamics underlying deterioration of reefs, monitoring at high spatial and temporal resolution is key. However, conventional monitoring methods for quantifying coral cover and species abundance are limited in scale due to the extensive manual labor required. Although computer vision tools have been employed to aid in this process, in particular structure‐from‐motion (SfM) photogrammetry for 3D mapping and deep neural networks for image segmentation, analysis of the data products creates a bottleneck, effectively limiting their scalability.This paper presents a new paradigm for mapping underwater environments from ego‐motion video, unifying 3D mapping systems that use machine learning to adapt to challenging conditions under water, combined with a modern approach for semantic segmentation of images.The method is exemplified on coral reefs in the northern Gulf of Aqaba, Red Sea, demonstrating high‐precision 3D semantic mapping at unprecedented scale with significantly reduced required labor costs: given a trained model, a 100 m video transect acquired within 5 min of diving with a cheap consumer‐grade camera can be fully automatically transformed into a semantic point cloud within 5 min. We demonstrate the spatial accuracy of our method and the semantic segmentation performance (of at least 80% total accuracy), and publish a large dataset of ego‐motion videos from the northern Gulf of Aqaba, along with a dataset of video frames annotated for dense semantic segmentation of benthic classes.Our approach significantly scales up coral reef monitoring by taking a leap towards fully automatic analysis of video transects. The method advances coral reef transects by reducing the labor, equipment, logistics, and computing cost. This can help to inform conservation policies more efficiently. Recognizing the detailed information embedded in rasterized floorplans is at the research forefront in the community of computer graphics and vision. With the advent of deep neural networks, automatic floorplan recognition has made tremendous breakthroughs. However, co‐recognizing both the structures and semantics of floorplans through one neural network remains a significant challenge. In this paper, we introduce a novel framework Raster‐to‐Graph, which automatically achieves structural and semantic recognition of floorplans. We represent vectorized floorplans as structural graphs embedded with floorplan semantics, thus transforming the floorplan recognition task into a structural graph prediction problem. We design an autoregressive prediction framework using the neural network architecture of the visual attention Transformer, iteratively predicting the wall junctions and wall segments of floorplans in the order of graph traversal. Additionally, we propose a large‐scale floorplan dataset containing over 10,000 real‐world residential floorplans. Our autoregressive framework can automatically recognize the structures and semantics of floorplans. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our framework, showing significant improvements on all metrics. Qualitative and quantitative evaluations indicate that our framework outperforms existing state‐of‐the‐art methods. Background: Accurate segmentation of lung nodules is crucial for the early diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer in clinical practice. However, the similarity between lung nodules and surrounding tissues has made their segmentation a longstanding challenge. Purpose: Existing deep learning and active contour models each have their limitations. This paper aims to integrate the strengths of both approaches while mitigating their respective shortcomings. Methods: In this paper, we propose a few‐shot segmentation framework that combines a deep neural network with an active contour model. We introduce heat kernel convolutions and high‐order total variation into the active contour model and solve the challenging nonsmooth optimization problem using the alternating direction method of multipliers. Additionally, we use the presegmentation results obtained from training a deep neural network on a small sample set as the initial contours for our optimized active contour model, addressing the difficulty of manually setting the initial contours. Results: We compared our proposed method with state‐of‐the‐art methods for segmentation effectiveness using clinical computed tomography (CT) images acquired from two different hospitals and the publicly available LIDC dataset. The results demonstrate that our proposed method achieved outstanding segmentation performance according to both visual and quantitative indicators. Conclusion: Our approach utilizes the output of few‐shot network training as prior information, avoiding the need to select the initial contour in the active contour model. Power line inspection is an important means to eliminate hidden dangers of power lines. It is a difficult research problem how to solve the low accuracy of power line inspection based on deep neural network (DNN) due to the problems of multi‐view‐shape, small‐size object. In this paper, an automatic detection model based on Feature visual clustering network (FVCNet) for power line inspection is established. First, an unsupervised clustering method for power line inspection is proposed, and applied to construct a detection model which can recognize multi‐view‐shape objects and enhanced object features. Then, the bilinear interpolation method is used to Feature enhancement method, and the enhanced high‐level semantics and low‐level semantics are fused to solve the problems of small object size and single sample. In this paper, FVCNet is applied to the MS‐COCO 2017 data set and self‐made power line inspection data set, and the test accuracy is increased to 61.2% and 82.0%, respectively. The optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) curve features of communication fibers exhibit subtle differences among their normal, subhealthy, and faulty operating states, making it challenging for existing machine learning-based fault diagnosis algorithms to extract these minute features. In addition, the OTDR curve field fault data are scarce, and data-driven deep neural network that needs a lot of data training cannot meet the requirements. In response to this issue, this paper proposes a communication fiber state diagnosis model based on fuzzy clustering and an improved ResNet. First, the pretrained residual network (ResNet) is modified by removing the classification layer and retaining the feature extraction layers. A global average pooling (GAP) layer is designed as a replacement for the fully connected layer. Second, fuzzy clustering, instead of the softmax classification layer, is employed in ResNet for its characteristic of requiring no subsequent data training. The improved model requires only a small amount of sample training to optimize the parameters of the GAP layer, thereby accommodating state diagnosis in scenarios with limited data availability. During the diagnosis process, the OTDR curves are input into the network, resulting in 512 features outputted in the GAP layer. These features are used to construct a feature vector matrix, and a dynamic clustering graph is formed using fuzzy clustering to realize the fiber state diagnosis. Machine learning as a data‐driven solution has been widely applied in the field of fatigue lifetime prediction. In this paper, three models for wideband fatigue life prediction are built based on three machine learning models, that is, support vector regression (SVR), Gaussian process regression (GPR), and artificial neural network (ANN). All the three prediction models use the parameter b of the well‐known Tovo–Benasciutti (TB) model as their outputs to realize fatigue life prediction and their generalization abilities are enhanced by employing numerous power spectrum samples with different bandwidth parameters and a variety of material properties related to fatigue life. Sufficient Monte Carlo numerical simulations demonstrate that the newly developed machine learning models are superior to the traditional frequency‐domain models in terms of life prediction accuracy and the ANN model has the best overall performance among the three developed machine learning models. Topology optimization (TO) has recently emerged as an advanced design method. To ensure practical reliability in the design process, it is imperative to incorporate considerations of uncertainty. Consequently, performing reliability analysis (RA) during the design phase becomes necessary. However, RA itself constitutes an optimization problem. Combining these two optimization problems can result in inefficiency. To address this challenge, we propose a decoupled approach that integrates deterministic topology optimization (DTO) and RA cycles. The reliability‐based stress‐constrained TO (RBSCTO) problem is considered in this paper. The DTO constraint is derived based on shifting vectors derived from the previous cycle's RA outcomes, enabling low‐reliability constraint shift towards the feasible direction. The DTO is solved based on solid‐isotropic‐material‐with‐penalization (SIMP) and augmented Lagrangian method. Meanwhile, the optimization problem in RA is addressed using finite differences and the interior point method. To reduce the errors resulting from linear approximation and optimization in RA when the target reliability is very low, an outlier handling method is employed. Meantime, we utilize a probabilistic neural network to enhance the efficiency of reliability assessment. Comparative studies against traditional methods across four RBSCTO tasks are demonstrated to validate its effectiveness. Monte Carlo simulations are used to validate the reliability of results. Owing to the necessity of high computation amounts has emerged, interest in a neuromorphic computing system has significantly increased as a compelling alternative to conventional CMOS technology. This paper presents a neuromorphic hardware algorithm to finely reconfigure multi‐input signal processing, which can be implemented as an advanced processor for diverse external information, and the hydrogen explosion risk assessment system is demonstrated as a proof of concept. Hydrogen concentration and temperature are used as sensory inputs for the signal integration and the precise values of them are determined by offsetting the effect of temperature on the electrical signal from the hydrogen sensor through a sensor circuit. Each signal is then updated by the weight control circuit and converted into a postsynaptic current to represent the hydrogen explosion risk using a multi‐input artificial synapse. This simplicity of the circuitry renders the fabrication of all components and circuits compatible with simple inkjet printing methods, enabling cost‐effective and high‐throughput manufacturing. Additionally, the real‐time demonstration of the neuromorphic computing system is successfully conducted, offering insights into the practical application of neuromorphic computing. Extracting the desired information from sensor data with various internal and external effects is a significant challenge in sensor applications. Difficult‐to‐control factors such as temperature, humidity, and sample position can significantly affect the stability and reliability of sensor data. In this paper, a deep learning‐based glucose sensing method that is robust to variations in sample position is proposed. It is shown that the variations in sample position affect the sensor data measured by the designed split ring resonator‐based microwave sensor. Then, artificial neural network and 1D convolutional neural network (CNN) models are evaluated for extracting glucose concentration information from the sensor data measured at random sample positions. The concentration of the glucose solution ranged from 1% to 23% (2% increments). The 1D CNN with all frequencies (0.5–18 GHz) of the and datasets outperformed the other model, with a mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.695% and a mean squared error (MSE) of 0.876 evaluated via cross‐validation. The study demonstrated that the sensor system can be applied in real life by performing fruit Brix estimation based on transfer learning of the previous 1D CNN network, and the MAE and MSE are 0.450% and 0.305, respectively. Background: Peer assessment has played an important role in large‐scale online learning, as it helps promote the effectiveness of learners' online learning. However, with the emergence of numerical grades and textual feedback generated by peers, it is necessary to detect the reliability of the large amount of peer assessment data, and then develop an effective automated grading model to analyse the data and predict learners' learning results. Objectives: The present study aimed to propose an automated grading model with reliability detection. Methods: A total of 109,327 instances of peer assessment from a large‐scale teacher online learning program were tested in the experiments. The reliability detection approach included three steps: recurrent convolutional neural networks (RCNN) was used to detect grade consistency, bidirectional encoder representations from transformers (BERT) was used to detect text originality, and long short‐term memory (LSTM) was used to detect grade‐text consistency. Furthermore, the automated grading was designed with the BERT‐RCNN model. Results and Conclusions: The effectiveness of the automated grading model with reliability detection was shown. For reliability detection, RCNN performed best in detecting grade consistency with an accuracy rate of 0.889, BERT performed best in detecting text originality with an improvement of 4.47% compared to the benchmark model, and LSTM performed best with an accuracy rate of 0.883. Moreover, the automated grading model with reliability detection achieved good performance, with an accuracy rate of 0.89. Compared to the absence of reliability detection, it increased by 12.1%. Implications: The results strongly suggest that the automated grading model with reliability detection for large‐scale peer assessment is effective, with the following implications: (1) The introduction of reliability detection is necessary to help filter out low reliability data in peer assessment, thus promoting effective automated grading results. (2) This solution could assist assessors in adjusting the exclusion threshold of peer assessment reliability, providing a controllable automated grading tool to reducing manual workload with high quality. (3) This solution could shift educational institutions from labour‐intensive grading procedures to a more efficient educational assessment pattern, allowing for more investment in supporting instructors and learners to improve the quality of peer feedback. Summary: Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks (CRAHNs) are an essential method for resolving conflicts between extreme spectrum scarcity and rapid traffic increase while maintaining high‐quality service for consumers. However, the coexistence of primary and secondary users represents a critical challenge for reasonable resource allocation in order to provide a sustaining system performance. Many approaches have been developed to efficiently allocate resources; however, these methods are currently limited by things like user collision, strange traffic networks, and high data transmission error rates. To address these constraints, this paper proposes a policy‐configured reinforcement learning‐based ad hoc network (AHN) model. To obtain the ideal policy configuration for the network, the system first models the cognitive radio (CR) network, in which nodes are initialised and grouped employing the Link Reliability K‐Means clustering Algorithm (LR‐KMA). The available spectrum was then detected and separated into multiple bands utilizing coherent‐based detection (CBD) and signal source identification employing the Parzen–Rosenblatt Window‐based Restricted Boltzmann Machine (PRW‐RBM). Next, the learning model for the resource allocation process employs the Weibull Distribution‐based Blue Monkey Optimization (WD‐BMO) approach to pick the relevant bands. Finally, the experimental results were analyzed in order to evaluate the proposed resource allocation model's performance in CRAHNs. When compared with previous findings, the proposed method improves resource utilization by 5%, the proposed model achieves a 7% higher throughput, and the PRW‐RBM's accuracy improves classification accuracy by 1.07%. Summary: Non‐orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is an efficient technology for future wireless communication systems. The resource management on NOMA networks is flattering for improving energy efficiency (EE) of systems. Therefore, self‐attention convolutional neural network (SACNN) optimized with Remora Optimization Algorithm (ROA) for energy aware resource management in NOMA network (SACNN‐ROA‐EE) is proposed in this paper for solving user allocation, channel allocation, and power allocation problems. The Matching‐Coalition approach is considered to face the user allocation issue, and the SACNN is considered to face the channel allocation and power allocation problems. SACNN does not adopt any optimization methods to determine the optimal parameters in channel allocation and power allocation. Therefore, the ROA is applied to optimize the SACNN weight parameters. The proposed technique is activated in MATLAB, and its efficacy is analyzed with under performances metrics, such as minimum user rate, sum rate, energy, and spectral performance. The proposed SACNN‐ROA‐EE attains 24.35%, 27.84%, and 38.58% better sum rate and 27.45%, 43.28%, 30.56% better EE compared with existing methods, such as EE utilizing communication deep neural network optimized with power allocation optimization (PAO‐CDNN‐EE), EE under deep transfer deterministic policy gradient along deep deterministic policy gradient approach (DPPGA‐DTDPPG‐EE), and EE utilizing deep reinforcement learning with baseline algorithms (BA‐DRL‐EE), respectively. Deep learning and metaheuristic algorithms have recently increased in various sciences, including financial accounting information systems (FAISs). However, the existence of large datasets has dramatically increased the complexity of these hybrid networks, so to address this shortcoming, this paper aims to develop a quantum‐behaved chimp optimization algorithm (QCHOA) and deep neural network (DNN) for the prediction of the profit based on FAISs. Considering that there is no suitable dataset for the challenge, a novel dataset is developed utilizing the 15 features from the Chinese market dataset to compare more. This work designs QCHOA and five DNN‐based predictors to forecast profit. These algorithms include the universal learning CHOA (ULCHOA), the niching CHOA (NCHOA) as the two best‐modified versions of CHOA, the quantum‐behaved whale optimization algorithm (QWOA), and the quantum‐behaved grey wolf optimizer (QGWO) as the two best quantum‐behaved optimizers as well as classic CHOA. The most effective deep learning‐based predictors for forecasting the profit, ranked from highest to lowest, are DNN‐QCHOA, DNN‐NCHOA, DNN‐QWOA, DNN‐QGWO, DNN‐ULCHOA, DNN‐CHOA, and classic DNN, with corresponding ranking scores of 42, 36, 30, 24, 18, 12, and 6. This paper examines the predictability of the changes in Brent oil futures prices using a multilayer perceptron artificial neural network that exploits the information contained in the largest possible set of economic indicators. Feature engineering is employed to identify the most important predictors of the change in Brent oil futures prices. We find that oil‐market‐specific variables are important predictors. Our findings also suggest that forecasts of the change in the Brent oil futures prices from the multilayer perceptron that exploits the informational content of all and oil‐market‐specific predictors exhibit higher statistical forecast accuracy than the random walk. Tests of forecast optimality indicate that the forecasts generated using oil‐market‐specific predictors are optimal. We discuss the policymaking and practical relevance of our results. Traffic forecasting is a crucial task of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), which remains very challenging as it is affected by the complexity and depth of the road network. Although the decision‐makers focus on the accuracy of the top‐level roads, the forecasts on the lower levels also improve the overall performance of ITS. In such a situation, a hierarchical forecasting strategy is more appropriate as well as a more accurate prediction methods to reach an efficient forecast. In this paper, we present a deep learning (DL) approach for hierarchical forecasting of traffic flow by exploring the hierarchical structure of the road network. The proposed approach is considered an improved variation on the top‐down strategy for the reconciliation process. We propose a model based on two deep neural network components to generate a coherent forecast for the total number of road segments. This paper trains a multilayered neural network (MLNN) for solving fractional delay differential equations (FDDEs), including nonlinear and singular types. The proposed methodology involves replacing the unknown functions in the equations with a truncated power series expansion. Subsequently, a collection of algebraic equations is solved utilizing an iterative minimization technique that leverages the capabilities of the MLNN architecture. Motivated by the strengths of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the UAV–human collaboration route planning (UHCRP) for intelligent infrastructure inspection is a problem worthy of discussion to help reduce human costs and minimize the risk of noninspected infrastructures under limited resources. To facilitate UHCRP, this paper proposes a novel deep reinforcement learning (DRL)‐based approach to well handle multi‐source uncertain features and constraints at a fast speed. To begin with, UHCRP is mathematically described and reformulated as a dual interdependent deep reinforcement learning (diDRL) framework to reflect real‐world scenarios. Afterward, a novel policy network named the attention‐based deep neural network (A‐DNN) is introduced to learn the route planning decisions for the combinatorial optimization problem. In particular, A‐DNN is made up of an encoder and a dual decoder for UAV and human inspection, where the multi‐head attention mechanism is incorporated to generate richer representations for model performance improvement. Performance of the proposed dual multi‐head attention model (DAM) has been tested in simulations and a real‐world case study regarding wind farm inspection. Results indicate that DAM under the sampling decoding strategy can deliver a high‐quality path plan and show better generalizability for larger scale problem sizes compared to single‐head attention model (SAM), multi‐head attention model (AM), and two baseline models, namely OR‐Tools and genetic algorithm. Moreover, DAM trained by randomly generated data can be directly employed to solve the practical problem with standardization of inputs. Overall, DRL integrates decision‐making for inspection method selection and inspected infrastructure selection, providing adaptive and intelligent inspection path planning for UAV and human in complex and dynamic engineering environments. This paper presents the deep neural network‐based infinitesimal dipole model using either near‐ or far‐field radiation patterns. Based on the radiating characteristic of an infinitesimal dipole, we generated a data set including near and far field radiation patterns corresponding to the phases of infinitesimal dipoles. We used the data set to train and validate the deep neural network (DNN) model. After checking the statistic of the fit function and the average error in expecting the phases of the infinite dipoles, we conclude that the proposed infinitesimal dipole modeling using DNN is sufficient to predict the characteristics of electromagnetic radiation.
