Background: In this study, we aimed to address the low utilization of straw and poor fermentation quality of paper mulberry silage (under natural fermentation conditions). Straw was combined with paper mulberry for ensiling, and the fermentation characteristics, bacterial community, and metabolite composition of the mixed straw and paper mulberry silage were investigated. Four treatment groups were established: corn-straw treatment 2 (3:7 ratio of corn straw to paper mulberry), corn-straw treatment 3 (5:5 ratio of corn straw to paper mulberry), wheat-straw treatment 2 (3:7 ratio of wheat straw to paper mulberry), wheatstraw treatment 3 (5:5 ratio of wheat straw to paper mulberry), and a control group (ensiling of paper mulberry alone). Results: The control group demonstrated the highest pH and ammonia (AN) and acetic acid (AA) content compared with all the treatment groups. Cornstraw treatment 2 had the highest lactic acid content (54.70 g/kg dry weight) compared with the control and other treatment groups. The relative abundance of Enterobacter (7.085%) was the lowest in the control than in the other treatment groups (p < 0.05). The relative abundance of Enterococcus was higher in both the control and wheat-straw treatment 2 (22.03% and 21.29%, respectively) than in other treatment groups. The relative abundance of Lactococcus was highest in wheat-straw treatment 3 (15.83%) compared with the control and other treatment groups. Corn-straw treatments 2 and 3 demonstrated the same metabolite composition but were clearly different from the wheat-straw treatment 2, wheat-straw treatment 3, and the control. Diacetoxyscirpenol (DAS) belongs to the Fusarium metabolite type A trichothecenes, which were not detected in corn or wheat silage. DAS was downregulated in the wheatstraw treatment 3 and both corn-straw treatments compared with the control, which indicates that the addition of straw decreased mycotoxin production. Lactococcus was significantly and positively correlated with gluconic acid content (R2 = 0.5166). Conclusion: Our results suggest that straw treatment can improve the nutritional value of paper mulberry silage by decreasing mycotoxin production, pH value, and AN content and increasing lactic acid production. The effluents generated in the paper industry, such as black liquor, have a high content of lignin and other toxic components; however, they represent a source of lignin-degrading bacteria with biotechnological potential. Therefore, the present study aimed to isolate and identify lignin-degrading bacteria species in paper mill sludge. A primary isolation was carried out from samples of sludge present in environments around a paper company located in the province of Ascope (Peru). Bacteria selection was made by the degradation of Lignin Kraft as the only carbon source in a solid medium. Finally, the laccase activity (Um-L−1) of each selected bacteria was determined by oxidation of 2,2′-azinobis-(3-etilbencenotiazolina-6-sulfonate) (ABTS). Bacterial species with laccase activity were identified by molecular biology techniques. Seven species of bacteria with laccase activity and the ability to degrade lignin were identified. The bacteria Agrobacterium tumefasciens (2), Klebsiella grimontii (1), and Beijeinckia fluminensis (1) were reported for first time. K. grimowntii and B. fluminensis presented the highest laccase activity, with values of 0.319 ± 0.005 UmL−1 and 0.329 ± 0.004 UmL−1, respectively. In this study, lignin was chemically modified to promote hydrogel degradation as a source of carbon and nitrogen for a bacterial consortium consisting of P. putida F1, B. cereus and, B. paramycoides. A hydrogel was synthesized using acrylic acid (AA), acrylamide (AM), and 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid (AMPS) and cross-linked with the modified lignin. The structural changes and mass loss in the hydrogel, as well as its final composition, were evaluated as functions of the growth of the selected strains in a culture broth with the powdered hydrogel. The average loss was 18.4% wt. The hydrogel was characterized using FTIR spectroscopy, scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), elemental analysis (EA), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) before and after bacterial treatment. FTIR showed that the carboxylic groups present in both the lignin and the acrylic acid of the hydrogel decreased during bacterial growth. The bacteria showed a preference for the biomaterial components of the hydrogel. SEM demonstrated superficial morphological changes in the hydrogel. The results reveal that the hydrogel was assimilated by the bacterial consortium while preserving the water retention capacity of the material and that the microorganisms carried out a partial biodegradation of the hydrogel. The results of the EA and TGA confirm that the bacterial consortium not only degraded the biopolymer (lignin), but also used the synthetic hydrogel as a carbon source to degrade its polymeric chains and modified original properties. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is known to participate in bacteria-induced inflammatory response in periodontal diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to quantify H2S produced by oral bacteria for diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases including halitosis and periodontal disease. In this study, we introduce a paper-based colorimetric assay for detecting bacterial H2S utilizing silver/Nafion/polyvinylpyrrolidone membrane and a 96-well microplate. This H2S-sensing paper showed a good sensitivity (8.27 blue channel intensity/μM H2S, R2 = 0.9996), which was higher than that of lead acetate paper (6.05 blue channel intensity/μM H2S, R2 = 0.9959). We analyzed the difference in H2S concentration released from four kinds of oral bacteria (Eikenella corrodens, Streptococcus sobrinus, Streptococcus mutans, and Lactobacillus casei). Finally, the H2S level in Eikenella corrodens while varying the concentration of cysteine and treatment time was quantified. This paper-based colorimetric assay can be utilized as a simple and effective tool for in vitro screening of H2S-producing ability of many bacteria as well as salivary H2S analysis. Background: Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are crucial in the scope of European Commission circular economy implementation. However, bioaerosol production may be a hazard for occupational and public health. A scoping review regarding microbial contamination exposure assessment in WWTPs was performed. Methods: This study was performed through PRISMA methodology in PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science. Results: 28 papers were selected for data extraction. The WWTPs' most common sampled sites are the aeration tank (42.86%), sludge dewatering basin (21.43%) and grit chamber. Air sampling is the preferred sampling technique and culture-based methods were the most frequently employed assays. Staphylococcus sp. (21.43%), Bacillus sp. (7.14%), Clostridium sp. (3.57%), Escherichia sp. (7.14%) and Legionella sp. (3.57%) were the most isolated bacteria and Aspergillus sp. (17.86%), Cladosporium sp. (10.71%) and Alternaria sp. (10.71%) dominated the fungal presence. Conclusions: This study allowed the identification of the following needs: (a) common protocol from the field (sampling campaign) to the lab (assays to employ); (b) standardized contextual information to be retrieved allowing a proper risk control and management; (c) the selection of the most suitable microbial targets to serve as indicators of harmful microbial exposure. Simple Summary: The primary risk regarding Helicobacter pylori infection is that it is associated with gastric cancer. The lack of eradication of Helicobacter pylori has led to an increase in the prevalence of gastric cancer. We examined the literature from the year 2024 related to the Helicobacter pylori/gastric cancer association. Immunological studies increased, but they did not convince in the study of this infection. Most of the examined studies address the clinical treatment of this bacterium. However, to the same extent, other studies have investigated genetically individualized treatment. If, until now, clinical treatments have not yet been able to eradicate this bacterium, we recommend genetically individualized treatment. Numerous studies have been performed on Helicobacter pylori infection because of the high death rate linked to this illness and gastric cancer. An update on the key developments in recent years in the investigation of Helicobacter pylori and gastric cancer is the goal of this review. Using the search term "Helicobacter pylori, gastric cancer", the PubMed database was searched. Only papers published in 2024 fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Because case report papers were not part of our investigation, they satisfied the exclusion criteria. Most of the research on the variable genes of Helicobacter pylori is guided by genetics to determine potential treatments. Studies on clinical treatments for the eradication of H. pylori with promising therapeutic options are needed. The purpose of this paper is to present evidence that supports the notion that the primary reason behind marginal bone loss and implant failure is immune-based and that bacterial actions in the great majority of problematic cases are of a secondary nature. Materials and Methods: The paper is written as a narrative review. Results: Evidence is presented that commercially pure titanium is not biologically inert, but instead activates the innate immune system of the body. For its function, the clinical implant is dependent on an immune/inflammatory defense against bacteria. Biologic models such as ligature studies have incorrectly assumed that the primary response causing marginal bone loss is due to bacterial action. In reality, bacterial actions are secondary to an imbalance of the innate immune system caused by the combination of titanium implants and ligatures, ie, nonself. This immunologic imbalance may lead to marginal bone resorption even in the absence of bacteria. In this paper, one of the great challenges faced by silicon-based biosensors is resolved using a biomaterial multilayer. Tiny biomolecules are deposited on silicon substrates, producing devices that have the ability to act as iridescent color sensors. The color is formed by a coating of uniform microstructures through the interference of light. The system exploits a flat, RNA-aptamer-coated silicon-based surface to which captured microbes are covalently attached. Silicon surfaces are encompassed with the layer-by-layer deposition of biomolecules, as characterized by atomic force microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Furthermore, the results demonstrate an application of an RNA aptamer chip for sensing a specific bacterium. Interestingly, the detection limit for the microbe was observed to be 2 × 106 CFUmL−1 by visually observed color changes, which were confirmed further using UV-Vis reflectance spectrophotometry. In this report, a flexible method has been developed for the detection of the pathogen Sphingobium yanoikuyae, which is found in non-beverage alcohols. The optimized system is capable of detecting the specific target microbe. Introduction and purpose The term "probiotic" rooted in Latin, signifies 'for life,' reflecting the historical use of fermented products for therapeutic purposes. Defined by the WHO as living microorganisms conferring health benefits when consumed adequately, probiotics, mainly bacteria from Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium genera, play a vital role in maintaining gut microbiota balance, regulating digestion, supporting the immune system and influencing mental and cardiovascular health. While browsing many websites devoted to healthy eating or popular science topics, we often came across the topic of probiotic food without any confirmation by scientific research. The aim of this paper is to confirm or exclude the presence of probiotics in popular foods. Material and method In our work, we will look at individual products with an emphasis on verifying whether the microorganisms they contain meet the WHO criteria of probiotics. Results Our review managed to prove the probiotic effect of almost all presented food, except for miso. By reviewing many articles, we shed a lot of uncertainty on the repeated myth about the lack of probiotic effect of cucumbers preserved in vinegar and what is more, we found scientific assumptions about the probiotic effect of vinegar itself. Conclusion Fermented food contains numerous strains of bacteria that are resistant to acid, bile and temperature in the human digestive tract and can be effectively used as a source of probiotics. What is more, compared with probiotics from the pharmacy, pickles provide not only probiotics, but also nutritional values, valuable fiber and vitamins. The genus Borrelia has been divided into Borreliella spp., which can cause Lyme Disease (LD), and Borrelia spp., which can cause Relapsing Fever (RF). The distribution of genus Borrelia has broadened due to factors such as climate change, alterations in land use, and enhanced human and animal mobility. Consequently, there is an increasing necessity for a One Health strategy to identify the key components in the Borrelia transmission cycle by monitoring the human-animal-environment interactions. The aim of this study is to summarize all accessible data to increase our understanding and provide a comprehensive overview of Borrelia distribution in the Mediterranean region. Databases including PubMed, Google Scholar, and Google were searched to determine the presence of Borreliella and Borrelia spp. in vectors, animals, and humans in countries around the Mediterranean Sea. A total of 3026 were identified and screened and after exclusion of papers that did not fulfill the including criteria, 429 were used. After examination of the available literature, it was revealed that various species associated with LD and RF are prevalent in vectors, animals, and humans in Mediterranean countries and should be monitored in order to effectively manage and prevent potential infections. Tumors of the central nervous system (CNS) are severe and refractory diseases with poor prognosis, especially for patients with malignant glioblastoma and brain metastases. Currently, numerous studies have explored the potential role of bacteria and intestinal flora in tumor development and treatment. Bacteria can penetrate the blood–brain barrier (BBB), targeting the hypoxic microenvironment at the core of tumors, thereby eliminating tumors and activating both the innate and adaptive immune responses, rendering them promising therapeutic agents for CNS tumors. In addition, engineered bacteria and derivatives, such as bacterial membrane proteins and bacterial spores, can also be used as good candidate carriers for targeted drug delivery. Moreover, the intestinal flora can regulate CNS tumor metabolism and influence the immune microenvironment through the "gut–brain axis". Therefore, bacterial anti-tumor therapy, engineered bacterial targeted drug delivery, and intervention of the intestinal flora provide therapeutic modalities for the treatment of CNS tumors. In this paper, we performed a comprehensive review of the mechanisms and therapeutic practices of bacterial therapy for CNS tumors and discussed potential future research directions in this field. Background and Objectives: The present study was to evaluate the microbial diversity inhabiting biodeteriorated precious manuscripts of the Holy Quran placed in one of the repositories of the Library of Astan Quds Razavi (AQR), and its relation to the air microbial diversity. Materials and Methods: Three non-invasive sampling methods, culture-based techniques, and molecular identification were used to investigate the microorganisms involved in deterioration. To investigate the air microbial quality and its role in the destruction of the repository objects, air samples were taken from six different points inside the repository. Biomodeling studies were designed to verify the impact of microbial isolates. Results: 14 fungal isolates were obtained from three deteriorated ancient Quran manuscripts. The most frequently isolated fungi from the different substrates were Aspergillus spp. and Penicillium spp. In the air, the prevalence across fungal genera was rather uniform. 30 species of the identified bacteria were collected from three manuscripts. The results obtained in the present study showed that the bacterial species from different genera belonged to three phyla: Proteobacteria (n = 2), Actinobacteria (n = 4), and Firmicutes (n = 24). The paper strips were artificially colonized by Aspergillus sp., Penicillium chrysogenum, and Talaromyces diversus producing spots which were visible to the naked eye. In the scanning electron microscopy images, the colonization of the selected organism was observed. Conclusion: The characteristics of paper inoculated artificially with these microbial isolates confirmed their deteriorating effects. Based on molecular identification, the similarity of fungal and bacterial species isolated from both substrates and air samples suggest the direct relationship between microorganisms from the air and those isolated from the manuscripts. Dust storms expose people suspended particles, microorganisms and potential allergens that have been absorbed by dust particles during airborne transport. The purpose of this study was investigation effect of microorganisms (bacteria and fungi) in dust storm on human health. Databases used to for searched were the PubMed, Google Scholar, Web of Science, Springer and Science Direct (Scopus). 58 papers based on abstract and article text filtered. In the end after sieve we selected 10 papers. Identify all relevant studies published 1978-2022. The literature showed that green spaces created by city officials in different areas include a set of trees and shrubs in accordance with the effect of microorganisms (bacteria and fungi) in dust storm on human health. Based on the result the many studies are conducted every year on the characteristics and different sources of dust, one of the most important of which is the ability of these storms to carry pathogenic microorganisms. the purpose of this study is the effect of bacteria and fungi in dust storms on human health. The findings of this study showed that the evaluation of various studies showed that with the occurrence of dust storms that originate from different sources, in addition to transporting suspended solids, pathogenic bacteria and fungi are also transmitted by dust storms from near and far places and cause various diseases of these include respiratory and pulmonary problems, upper respiratory tract infections, and cardiovascular disease. One of the modern, recently developed mathematical approaches for modeling various complex chaotic processes (the bacteria migration is apparently one of them), is the application of fractional differential equations. Introduction of fractional derivatives is also a very effective approach for investigation of the reactive processes (growth of bacteria in our case). Our recent advances in application of fractional differential equations for modeling the anomalous transport of reactive and non-reactive contaminants (see our recent publications in the References) allow us to expect that the anomalous transport of growing bacteria can also be effectively described by the models with fractional derivatives. Based on these modern approaches, utilizing fractional differential equations, in this paper we developed a reliable mathematical model that could be properly calibrated and, consequently, provide an adequate description of the growing bacteria transport. This model accounts for the memory effects in the bacteria transport due to the random character of bacteria trapping and release by the porous matrix. Two types of bacteria in the saturated porous medium are considered: mobile and immobile bacteria. Bacteria in the mobile phase are migrating in the fluid and have the velocity of the bulk flow, whereas bacteria in the immobile phase are the bacteria that are captured by the porous matrix. These bacteria have zero velocity and can cause clogging of some pores (therefore, porosity is possibly not constant). Examining different conventional models and comparing computations based on these models, we show that this extremely complex character of bacteria transport cannot be described by the traditional approach based on classical partial differential equations. In this paper we suggest fractional differential equations as a simple but very effective tool that can be used for constructing the proper model capable of simulating all the above-mentioned effects associated with migration of alive bacteria. Using this approach, a reliable model of the growing bacteria transport in the porous medium is developed and validated by comparison with experimental laboratory results. We proved that this novel model can be properly linearized and calibrated, so that an excellent agreement with available experimental results can be achieved. This simple model can be used in many applications, for example, as a part of more general mathematical models for predicting the outcomes of the bioremediation of contaminated soils. There is approximately 30% of grey sedge (Lepironia articulata) residue remaining from weaving production that could add value to support zero waste management. Therefore, the aim of this research was to study the feasibility of using a residue of grey sedge or Krajood strips from weaving production to form a value-added product. To obtain preliminary data, Krajood strip residue was examined for its biological and physical properties. In addition, the biological and physical properties of Krajood strip residue in combination with loam soil (KSRL) were examined and compared with the properties of loam soil (LS) itself. The results showed that the total microbe and moisture content of the Krajood strip residue was significantly higher than that of the products made from Krajood strips (KS). The stress value of Krajood strips was higher than the stress values of other samples except for that of a bag made of paper. Identification of bacteria and mold by MALDI Biotyper and DNA sequencing compared with BLAST revealed the presence of the types of soil microbes that benefit plants. KSRL was enriched with larger amounts of the primary elements important for plant growth: nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, and the three second tier elements. The pH of KS, LS, and KSRL were 6.40 ± 0.14, 5.87 ± 0.04, and 5.26 ± 0.02, respectively. These results could support the use of this beneficial residue for bioresource sustainability. The pulp and paper industry is a major source of lignocellulose-containing streams. The components of lignocellulose material are lignin, hemicellulose, and cellulose that may be hydrolyzed into their smaller components and used as feedstocks for valorization efforts. Much of this material is contained in underutilized streams and waste products, such as black liquor, pulp and paper sludge, and wastewater. Bacterial fermentation strategies have suitable potential to upgrade lignocellulosic biomass contained in these streams to value-added chemicals. Bacterial conversion allows for a sustainable and economically feasible approach to valorizing these streams, which can bolster and expand applications of the pulp and paper industry. This review discusses the composition of pulp and paper streams, bacterial isolates from process streams that can be used for lignocellulose biotransformations, and technological approaches for improving valorization efforts. The objective of the study was to isolate cellulase producing bacteria from natural sources and identify the bacterial isolates that produce thermostable enzyme. Bacteria were isolated from samples collected from different locations like mango leaf litter, termite gut, composting yard (municipal solid waste, compost, and soil), soil from decaying paper waste, decaying wood, and saline coastal belt soil by enrichment in broth containing 1% cellulose and subsequent culturing on plates and the purified cultures stored in slants of the solidified agar medium of the same composition as enrichment medium. Primary screening of the isolates for cellulase (Endo-ß-1,4-glucanase) production was done by growing them on Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) agar medium and screening using indicator dye Congo red. Secondary screening of the positive isolates showing cellulolytic Index > 4 was done by crude cellulase enzyme extraction and assay using 1% CMC in 1N citrate buffer (pH 5.0) at different pH values (4.8-7.0) and temperatures (35-70°C). Cellulase activity (EA) in U/mL was calculated based on the absorbance change per min. which depends on the amount of reducing sugar produced by the enzyme catalysed conversion of CMC to reducing sugar. Isolates were characterized morphologically and biochemically and six isolates (Gram -ve: T1, MSW, C1, S2 and Gram +ve: W2, P) having significantly higher EA were selected for DNA extraction. DNA was quantified and the DNA of four isolates (MSW, S2, W2, P) were selected for sequence analysis. The 16S rDNA sequencing was carried out through PCR amplification and Blast using NCBI blast similarity search tool resulted in the identification of MSW, S2, W2 as E.coli, Sulfitobacter pontiacus, Bacillus subtilis respectively and P as Bacillus cereus and Rhodococcus erythropolis strain e1. Isolates showed significantly higher cellulase activity (EA) at pH 6.2 and at varying temperatures. Bacterial isolates P and C2 showed significantly higher activity at 40°C, MSW at 60°C and others at 50°C (EA ranging from 0.0054 - 0.0604 U/mL). Isolates W2, P, S2 had EA ranging from 0.006 - 0.03 U/mL at 70°C. This study showed that the cellulase producers could be grown at different temperatures (40 - 70°C) on cellulose based substrate. In this study the substrate specificity indicates that the crude enzyme is an endo-ß-1,4-glucanase that plays a prominent role in initiating and sustaining the hydrolytic process and randomly cleaves cellulose into glucose and olygomeric polysaccharides. Hence by selecting samples with cellulosic substance from different locations with extreme environmental conditions like high temperature, high salinity it is possible to isolate cellulolytic bacteria producing cellulase enzymes that are stable at higher processing temperatures and other harsh conditions which is of importance in industrial applications. In this study, biodegradability aspects of UV thermochromic leuco dye print on three different paper materials (synthetic, recycled, and bulky) were studied using the soil burial test under anaerobic conditions. Biodegradation of UV curable thermochromic prints were evaluated for changes by visual examination, microbial growth assay, weight loss measurements, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy and colorimetric measurements. Results showed a better absorption of ink into the bulky paper structure, followed by recycled paper. Synthetic paper is not absorbent. The ink binder altogether with classic pigment and microcapsules penetrates into the structure of bulky paper. Recycled paper absorbs ink binder mostly with classic pigment. Better adsorption of binder into the bulky paper structure results in thinner layer of ink binder on the paper surface. On non-absorbent synthetic paper, microcapsules are covered with thicker layer of ink binder. In the case of bulky paper, the highest rate of biodegradation was observed, resulting in a higher number of bacteria, higher weight loss, higher changes in colour (destruction of almost all microcapsules) and almost complete reduction in thermochromic effect of the prints. Results show that microcapsules, which penetrate into the structure of bulky paper, are promoting the rate of bulky paper biodegradation. The opposite behaviour was noticed for the penetration of classic pigment into the structure of recycled paper, which resulted in remarkable reduction of recycled paper biodegradation rate. The thicker layer of ink binder (containing classic pigment) on the surface of microcapsules on recycled paper resulted in slower rate of microcapsules degradation and smaller colour change of the print. Mastitis is a common mammary gland disease of dairy cattle caused by a wide range of organisms including bacteria, fungi and algae. Mastitis contributes to economic losses of dairy farms due to reduced yield and poor quality of milk. Since the correct identification of pathogens responsible for the development of mastitis is crucial to the success of treatment, it is necessary to develop a quick and accurate test to distinguish the main pathogens causing this disease. In this paper, we describe the development of a test based on the multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method allowing for the identification of Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus uberis and Staphylococcus aureus. When creating our test, we relied on the results from new generation sequencing (NGS) for accurate determination of species affiliation. The multiplex PCR test was verified on 100 strains including veterinary samples, ATCC and Polish Collection of Microorganisms (PCM) reference strains. The obtained results indicate that this test is accurate and displays high specificity. It may serve as a valuable molecular tool for the detection of major mastitis pathogens. The emergence of antibiotic resistance poses a significant threat to public health worldwide, affecting various medical fields, including ophthalmology. Eye infections, ranging from conjunctivitis to more severe conditions like keratitis, are commonly treated with antibiotics. However, the misuse and overuse of these drugs have led to the development of resistant strains of bacteria, allowing traditional treatments ineffective. This paper aims to examine the current situation of antibiotic resistance in eye infections globally, with a specific focus on a large group of hospitals located in Milan (Italy) with considerable experience in cataract and cornea surgery as well as in retinopathy. The results of the study show the prevalence of Gram-positives in the tested samples and a low resistance of fluoroquinolones and glycopeptides. The results also highlight the need to implement sample collection methods for ocular infections, as the quantity of positive samples is rather low compared to the total number of samples. In conclusion, the study, although with limited data, shows that resistance to aminoglycosides and cephalosporins is a situation to be monitored. Identifying and classifying bacterial species from microscopic images is crucial for medical applications like prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. However, because of their diversity and variability in appearance, manually classifying bacteria is difficult and time-consuming. This work suggests employing deep learning architecture to automatically categorize bacterial species in order to overcome these difficulties and raise the accuracy of bacterial species recognition. We have evaluated our suggested approach using the Digital Images of Bacteria Species (DIBaS), a publicly accessible resource of photographs of tiny bacteria. This work uses a dataset that differs in terms of bacterial morphology, staining methods, and imaging circumstances. This paper aims to enhance the accuracy and reduce the computational requirements for Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) based classification of bacterial species using GoogLeNet and AlexNet to train the models. This paper focuses on employing transfer learning to retrain pre-trained CNN models using a dataset consisting of 2000 images encompassing 12 distinct bacteria species known to be harmful to human health. The concept of transfer learning was utilized to expedite the network's training process and enhance its categorization performance. The results are promising, with the method achieving an accuracy of 98.7% precision, recall of 99.50%, and an F1-score of 99.45% with classifier speed. Furthermore, the proposed bacteria classification approach demonstrated strong performance, irrespective of the size of the training data used. This paper contributes by automating bacterial classification to facilitate faster and more accurate identification of bacterial species, which facilitates the treatment of infections and related diseases, in addition to monitoring public health, and promoting the wise use of antimicrobial drugs. In this paper, we mainly investigate the dynamics of traveling wavefronts for a model describing host tissue degradation by bacteria. We first establish the existence of spreading speed, and show that the spreading speed coincides with the minimal wave speed of traveling wavefronts. Moreover, a lower bound estimate of the spreading speed is given. Then, we prove that the traveling wavefronts with large speeds are globally exponentially stable, when the initial perturbation around the traveling wavefronts decays exponentially as x → − ∞ , but the initial perturbation can be arbitrarily large in other locations. Crohn's disease, a chronic inflammatory process of the gastrointestinal tract defined by flares and periods of remission, is increasing in incidence. Despite advances in multimodal medical therapy, disease progression often necessitates multiple operations with high morbidity. The inability to treat Crohn's disease successfully is likely in part because the etiopathogenesis is not completely understood; however, recent research suggests the gut microbiome plays a critical role. How traditional perioperative management, including bowel preparation and preoperative antibiotics, further changes the microbiome and affects outcomes is not well described, especially in Crohn's patients, who are unique given their immunosuppression and baseline dysbiosis. This paper aims to outline current knowledge regarding perioperative management of Crohn's disease, the evolving role of gut dysbiosis, and how the microbiome can guide perioperative considerations with special attention to perioperative antibiotics as well as treatment of Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis. In conclusion, dysbiosis is common in Crohn's patients and may be exacerbated by malnutrition, steroids, narcotic use, diarrhea, and perioperative antibiotics. Dysbiosis is also a major risk factor for anastomotic leak, and special consideration should be given to limiting factors that further perturb the gut microbiota in the perioperative period. Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) affects approximately 5–20% of pregnant women and is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. This review aimed to assess whether the oral microbiota of infants and their mothers with GDM had a different composition from that found in unaffected women and offspring. PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Google Scholar were searched in December 2023 after protocol registration in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (CRD42023406505). Risk of bias was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal tools. Overall, 1113 articles were identified; after evaluating the full texts, 12 papers were included in the qualitative analysis. In six studies of the eight included, significant differences in microbiota between M-GDM and M-nGDM were found. In four studies, a depletion of Firmicutes and an enrichment of Proteobacteria was found in the microbiota of infants. Since all included studies were judged to have high risk of bias, a quantitative synthesis of the results was not carried out. In conclusion, although the oral microbiota of infants from mothers with GDM could be different from that of infants from mothers without GDM, there is insufficient evidence to clarify this aspect so far. This study aimed to examine the effects of inoculating Fritillaria taipaiensis P.Y.Li leaves with different strains of potassium-solubilizing bacteria (KSB), or combinations thereof, focusing on aspects of photosynthesis and physiological and biochemical characteristics. At present, some studies have only studied the rhizosphere microbial community characteristics of F. taipaiensis and have not discussed the effects of different microbial species on the growth promotion of F. taipaiensis. This paper will start from the perspective of potassium-solubilizing bacteria to conduct an in-depth study. Seed cultivation commenced at the base with three different KSBs in early October 2022. The growth of F. taipaiensis leaves was observed after different treatments. Both single-plant and compound inoculations were executed. A total of eight treatment groups were established, with aseptic fertilizer and sterilized soil functioning as the control group. The results reveal that intercellular CO2 concentration (Ci), stomatal conductance (Gs), and transpiration rate (Tr) were at their apex in the S7 group. Most treatment groups exhibited an increase in leaf area, photosynthetic pigment content, soluble sugar, soluble protein, Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), Peroxidase (POD), Catalase (CAT) activities, and proline content. The expression levels of POD, SOD, and CAT genes were evaluated, following inoculation with different KSB. The highest was the S7 group. The inoculation with various KSB, or combinations thereof, appears to bolster the growth and development of F. taipaiensis. The composite inoculation group S7, comprising Bacillus cereus, Burkholderia cepacia, and Bacillus subtilis, manifested the most favorable impact on the diverse indices of F. taipaiensis, thereby furnishing valuable insights for the selection of bacterial fertilizer in the artificial cultivation of F. taipaiensis. Waterborne bacteria cause many dangerous diseases as well as several health‐related issues hence detection of them is a global challenge today. A plus‐shaped graphene sensor to detect waterborne bacteria is presented in this paper. The detection mechanism is based upon the refractive index difference between waterborne bacteria sample and pure water which causes a change in resonance peak in the transmittance graph. The use of graphene material increases the sensitivity and also gives the tuning behavior by changing its potential. The effect of various parameters such as sensitivity (S), Q factor, figure of merit (FOM), and detection limit are discussed in the paper. The maximum values Q factor and FOM are 13.46 and 4.03 RIU−1 respectively. The minimum detection limit is 0.277 RIU. The proposed sensor exhibits the highest sensitivity of 255 GHz/RIU at the optimum condition which is comparably higher than previously published papers on biosensors. The use of fossil fuels leads to environmental contamination during their extraction, processing and distribution. Microbial biodegradation provides a sustainable method for cleaning contaminated areas which follows the principles of sustainability. This paper presents the dynamics of biodegradation of hydrocarbon fractions of diesel oil, using Planomicrobium sp. and Rhodococcus sp. isolated from petroleum-contaminated sites. GC–MS analysis was employed to analyse abundances of the specific compounds such as n-alkanes, isoprenoids, sesquitepranes, hopanes, steranes and aromatic compounds (naphthalene and its methylated homologues, phenanthrene and anthracene and their methylated homologues, and dibenzothiophene and its methylated homologues). The obtained results showed that after 30 days of biodegradation of diesel, a significant degradation was achieved, with almost complete degradation of n-alkanes and a decrease in the amount of sesquiterapanes. Rhodococcus sp. had a higher efficiency in degradation of n-alkanes, while Planomicrobium sp. had a higher efficiency in the degradation of branched hydrocarbons. Both strains showed high activity in the biodegradation of sesquitepranes and demonstrate ability to degrade methylated phenanthrenes. Additionally, dimethyl-dibenzothiophenes were almost completely degraded and removed from the system. Ticks are ectoparasites responsible for the transmission of various pathogens to vertebrates. They represent one of the major threats to livestock production worldwide due to their impact on the health, production and welfare of livestock destined for human consumption. The development of resistance to the main families of ixodicides used for their control has led to the search for new alternatives, where microbial control is an option. The use of microbial control agents against the tick Rhipicephalus microplus is reviewed in this paper. Bacteria such as Bacillus thuringiensis, Serratia marcescens and Staphylococcus spp. the nematodes Steinernema spp. and Heterorhabditis spp. as well as the fungi Metarhizium anisopliae and Beauveria bassiana are the most studied organisms for use as biological control agents against ticks. Laboratory, stable and field trials with free-living and parasitised ticks have shown that microbial agents can control both susceptible and ixodicide-resistant tick populations. However, multidisciplinary studies using novel tools like genomics, transcriptomics and proteomics should be carried out to understand the virulence factors which microbial agents use to induce pathogenesis and virulence in ticks. In addition, applied research will be carried out with the aim of improving techniques for large-scale application, as well as the improvement of cultivation, storage, formulation and application methods. The vast majority of cultural heritage objects consist of materials that can be subjected to biodeterioration. Currently, there is significant number of publications showing which materials are capable of destroying certain organisms, and what conservation and restoration procedures are required. However, there is neither a clear classification of these diverse events nor their visual representation. In our review, for the first time, an attempt is made to compare the type of biodeterioration, based on the destruction of a particular material, with a specific color of the rainbow. In this regard, a cultural heritage objects made of a single material are designated as one color icon; and those made of composite materials are designated as pictogram consisting of several icons of corresponding colors. For example, a stone sculpture, in accordance with the rainbow code, is assigned a gray color, which was introduced to visualize stone materials. The drum corresponds to a pictogram consisting of violet (corresponds to leather) and brown (corresponds to wood). A work of easel painting on canvas corresponds to a pictogram consisting of a red color icon (corresponds to canvas) and a gold color icon (corresponds to painting materials). We used cold color shades to denote basic inorganic materials, and cold color shades to denote organic materials. The proposed rainbow code for biodetermination is an open platform that can be expanded by adding new colors for new materials introduced, and allows to translate potentially any cultural heritage object into a pictogram with colors that correspond to the materials used in its manufacture. Such a graphical interpretation can help both systematize the storage conditions of museum exhibits and facilitate understanding of the processes of biodeterioration of composite materials. Living organisms have been progressively used by designers to propose alternative design outcomes aiming towards more ecological aspects. The design development and manufacturing of new materials or design components from living organisms are more achievable in textile, fashion, or product design than in architecture and construction due to the scale, multi-layer constraints, and requirements. The aim of this paper is to investigate the interdisciplinary framework, the opportunities, and limitations of introducing living organisms into the design process, including the implementation from the design ideas to prototyping until commercialization. In this paper, we focus on three types of living organisms: algae, bacteria, and fungi. Firstly, we overviewed and studied existing projects and experimentations to understand the design process and fabrication of living organisms in other domains in comparison to architecture. Secondly, we selected three case studies in architecture for each organism to analyze. We collected the data and conducted interviews with multidisciplinary experts involved in each case. Our findings show a better understanding of the potential to integrate living organisms in architectural design, the advantages, and the difficulties towards ecological awareness. The results from the interview and a comparative analysis show the advantages and constraints of each case. Introduction: Looking into the literature, many articles accuse bacterial persister cells as important causes of infection relapse/recalcitrance. This opinion paper, highlights the knowledge gaps and scientific misconceptions in experimental procedures regarding the role of persisters in relapse/recalcitrance of infections and recommends a roadmap for investigations in this field. Conclusion: It is debated in this paper, that unless the queries and missing points are addressed clearly, persisters cannot be stigmatized as the culprit of infection relapse/recalcitrance. The accelerated development of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in aquaculture environments due to the overuse of antibiotics is a global concern. To systematically understand the research trends in and key concepts of ARGs and AMR in aquaculture systems, this study employed the bibliometrix R-package to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the publication characteristics of ARGs and AMR in aquaculture systems from the Web of Science, published from 2000 to 2021. The results revealed that China has produced the most papers. China and the northern hemisphere countries work closely together. Collaboration and multidisciplinary research helped to better understand the impact of AMR in aquaculture on food security and human health. Antibiotic-resistant bacteria and ARGs in aquaculture, as well as the relationship between water environmental variables, antibiotic residuals, and ARGs, are the current research focus. One of the future directions is to establish a conclusive link among water environmental variables, antibiotics, and ARGs. Another future direction is the development of new economical and environmentally friendly technologies to treat AMR in aquaculture wastewater. Cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) composite filter papers were fabricated by a facile method, which consists of the bleaching and hydrolysis of fibers, and drop coating of filter papers with CNC solution. The filter properties of the composite filter papers were applied for the removal of bacteria from aqueous solutions. Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) were used to evaluate the bacteria removal performance of the CNC composite filter papers. It is indicated that the nanopores formed by nanoscale rod-like crystals contribute to the bacteria removal capacity of porous CNC nanocomposite filter papers. Overlapped five layers of the CNC composite filter papers displayed a rapid (0.12 L/min) and highly efficient removal (remove rate at ~ 100%) of bacteria from aqueous solutions. Due to their advantages of convenient preparation, sustainable materials and low cost, the CNC composite filter papers have promising prospects and potential applications in many fields concerning bacteria removal and water purification. Lipase enzyme has a critical role in deinking process along with other lignocellulosic enzymes. In this paper, we try to demonstrate the role of lipase in the enzyme cocktail used for enzymatic deinking. For this, we identified a potential lipolytic bacterium, Pseudomonas mendocina ED9 isolated from elephant dung with a molecular weight of 35 kDa. During the Box-Benhken model optimization, a maximum lipase activity of 105.12 U/g, which was 12.36-fold higher than the initial enzyme activity and 1.3-fold higher than the activity obtained during the Plackett Burman design, was achieved. A maximum lipase activity of 105.12 U/g was obtained after optimization. Ammonium sulphate (60%) precipitation resulted in a specific activity of 68.19 U/mg with a 1.4-fold purification and yield of 64%. Lipase from P. mendocina ED9 exhibited a Km of 0.5306 mM and Vmax of 25.0237 μmol/min/mg. A Δ brightness of approximately 14.5% were achieved during the enzymatic deinking using cocktail comprised of cellulase, xylanase and lipase. This reports the significant role and efficacy of lipase in enzyme cocktails for deinking applications. Background: Global estimates for cholera annually approximate 4 million cases worldwide with 95,000 deaths. Recent outbreaks, including Haiti and Yemen, are reminders that cholera is still a global health concern. Cholera outbreaks can rapidly induce high death tolls by overwhelming the capacity of health facilities, especially in remote areas or areas of civil unrest. Recent studies demonstrated that stool specimens preserved on filter paper facilitate molecular analysis of Vibrio cholerae in resource limited settings. Specimens preserved in a rapid, low-cost, safe and sustainable manner for sequencing provides previously unavailable data about circulating cholera strains. This may ultimately provide new information to shape public policy response on cholera control and elimination. Methodology/Principal findings: Whole genome sequencing (WGS) recovered close to a complete sequence of the V. cholerae O1 genome with satisfactory genome coverage from stool specimens enriched in alkaline peptone water (APW) and V. cholerae culture isolates, both spotted on filter paper. The minimum concentration of V. cholerae DNA sufficient to produce quality genomic information was 0.02 ng/μL. The genomic data confirmed the presence or absence of genes of epidemiological interest, including cholera toxin and pilus loci. WGS identified a variety of diarrheal pathogens from APW-enriched specimen spotted filter paper, highlighting the potential for this technique to explore the gut microbiome, potentially identifying co-infections, which may impact the severity of disease. WGS demonstrated that these specimens fit within the current global cholera phylogenetic tree, identifying the strains as the 7th pandemic El Tor. Conclusions: WGS results allowed for mapping of short reads from APW-enriched specimen and culture isolate spotted filter papers this provided valuable molecular epidemiological sequence information on V. cholerae strains from remote, low-resource settings. The type VI secretion system (T6SS) is a powerful bacterial molecular weapon that can inject effector proteins into prokaryotic or eukaryotic cells, thereby participating in the competition between bacteria and improving bacterial environmental adaptability. Although most current studies of the T6SS have focused on animal bacteria, this system is also significant for the adaptation of plant-associated bacteria. This paper briefly introduces the structure and biological functions of the T6SS. We summarize the role of plant-associated bacterial T6SS in adaptability to host plants and the external environment, including resistance to biotic stresses such as host defenses and competition from other bacteria. We review the role of the T6SS in response to abiotic factors such as acid stress, oxidation stress, and osmotic stress. This review provides an important reference for exploring the functions of the T6SS in plant-associated bacteria. Identifying and analyzing mixed pathogenic bacteria is important for clinical diagnosis and antibiotic therapy of multiple bacterial infection. In this paper, a dual-mode hyperspectral microscopic detection technology with hybrid deep neural networks (DNNs) was proposed for simultaneous quantitative analysis of four kinds of pathogenic bacteria in mixed samples. To acquire both transmission and fluorescence spectra regarding the mixed pathogens, we developed a dual-mode hyperspectral detection system with fine spectral resolution and wide wavelength range, which can also generate spatial images that can be used to calculate the total amount of mixed bacteria. The dual-mode spectra were regarded as mixed proportion characteristics and the input of the neural network for predicting the proportion of each bacterium present in the mixture. To better analyze the dual-mode spectral data, we customized a mixed bacteria measurement network (MB-Net) with hybrid DNNs architectures based on spectral feature fusion. Using the fusion strategy, two DNNs frameworks applied for transmission/fluorescence spectral feature processing were stacked to form the MB-Net that processes these features simultaneously, and the achieved average coefficient of determination (R2) and RMSE of validation set are 0.96 and 0.03, respectively. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first time of simultaneously detecting four types of mixed pathogenic bacteria using spectral detection technology, showing excellent potential in clinical practice. Microbial-induced carbonate precipitation (MICP) technology has gained significant traction as an eco-friendly, cost-effective, and intelligent self-healing method for concrete cracks. The harsh service environment and high alkalinity of cement matrices have posed a significant challenge to the survival and growth of bacteria, which is crucial for the success of MICP technologies in concrete components. This article aims to present an up-to-date overview of the current research status of self-healing concrete cracks utilizing MICP technology. Specifically, it comprehensively reviews the selection of mineralization repair systems, encompassing repair mechanisms, effects, processes, nutrient addition sequences, and carrier selection. Furthermore, various characterization methods for evaluating the self-healing ability of concrete are explored, accompanied by an in-depth analysis of practical applications of self-healing concrete. Silver and its compounds have long been utilized as antimicrobial agents in medicine. Silver sulfadiazine, a broad-spectrum antibiotic ointment, is widely used and effective against a wide range of bacteria and some yeast. Copper and its alloys possess natural antimicrobial properties. Ancient civilizations recognized and utilized the antimicrobial effects of copper long before the understanding of microbes in the nineteenth century. Mechanochemistry refers to reactions induced by the input of mechanical energy, typically involving solids, such as grinding in ball mills. It is gaining increased attention due to its ability to promote rapid and quantitative reactions between solids, often without the need for additional solvents. Historically, mechanochemistry has been a secondary approach to chemical synthesis, with solution-based methods being the default choice. Background: Infectious abortions happen mostly by bacteria and viruses. First of all, it is necessary to determine the causative agents in order to prevent abortions. There are different views on the relationship and sensitivity between breed and diseases. Native breed sheep with abortion history, which were caused by microorganisms, were investigated in the paper. Methods: Three hundred and eighty-four blood samples were collected from four different native breed sheep with abortion history. The samples were investigated in terms of some important bacterial, parasitary and viral agents by serological and virological tests. Result: Akabane (AKAV) antibody (Ab) 3.90% seropositivity and pestivirus antigen (Ag) 0.26% positivity was found in aborted sheep. Not only was the highest seropositivity detected in age group of five in terms of AKAV infection but also the highest seropositivity was found in age group of five in terms of pestivirus (Ab) according to age while pestivirus (Ag) presence was detected in only one animal in age group of four. The highest seropositivity in terms of AKAV infection according to races was found in Kivircik sheep as 4.65% while as 56.40% in terms of pestivirus (Ab) and as 0.58% in terms of pestivirus (Ag) in Anatolian Merinos sheep. In terms of both infections, an increase of infections was seen in elder sheep, the highest AKAV seropositivity was found in Kivircik sheep and the highest pestivirus seropositivity was detected in Anatolian Merinos sheep. The causes of cracks in concrete are varied, and regardless of their origin, these cracks invariably have a detrimental impact on the durability of concrete structures and escalate their maintenance costs. This paper presents a comprehensive review of current knowledge regarding the methods of self-healing in concrete, ranging from autogenic and improved autogenic self-healing to the autonomous self-healing of concrete. Particular emphasis is placed on the methods of autonomous concrete self-healing: the bacterial healing method, the crystalline hydrophilic additives healing method, and the capsule-based self-healing method. The hypothesis is that applying these self-healing methods could potentially prevent damages or cracks in concrete caused by freeze–thaw cycles, thereby extending the lifespan of concrete structures. Coastal tourism is a significant part of the contemporary tourism, which is growing more and more due to the increasing world population with recreational needs. A part of the coastal tourism refers to using the coastal seawater for recreational activities, such as bathing. The bathing water quality is important for tourist fluxes and maintaining it at high standards is a challenge because of the today's accelerated changes of the natural environment. Using the bibliometric tools biblioshiny and VOSviewer, the main research themes and keywords of some specific research studies (from Web of Science Core Collection) are presented in a graphic form by using a tree map, a production and collaboration map, a three-field plot and a co-occurrence network map. Some of the common words in the selected scientific literature are: "economy", "management", "improvement", "recreational activities", "wastewater", "sewage", "contamination", "pollution", "Escherichia coli", "enterococci", "model". Thymol and carvacrol are some of the most important and used components of Essential oils (EOs); they are widely studied, and there are much data available in the literature. Their Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) values found in the literature from 2005 to present were used to assess the bioactivity toward yeasts, molds, Gram-positive bacteria, and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as on some bacterial species/serotypes (Salmonella sp., Escherichia coli, E. coli O157:H7, lactic acid bacteria, Listeria monocytogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, S. epidermidis, etc.) to find possible common trends or differences between the two compounds and among the tested species. The results were quite interesting and pointed out that there is a common range for the MIC of thymol and carvacrol for some bacterial species (150–400 mg/L), with some exceptions to this generalized statement. In addition, the statistics pointed out that bacteria could experience homogeneous (S. epidermidis, E. coli O157:H7) or heterogeneous trends (for example, Salmonella sp.) depending on the existence of possible sub-species or different experimental set-ups. Moreover, this paper suggests that there are some drawbacks and issues that should be solved for the effective use of EOs, which are the strong variability among the microorganisms and the lack of standard protocols and reference strains. To appraise the literature on the prevalence of the JP2 clone of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (A.a.) and on its association with presence and progression of periodontitis in different populations. A systematic search of the literature was conducted in Medline, Embase and Cochrane Library for studies reporting data on detection of the JP2 clone of A.a. A total of 56 papers were included in the review, from an initial search of 685 titles. Studies were carried out in populations with a mean age of 26.34 years (range 6.24–53.85 years). Just over 16% of the overall population assessed (n = 13 751) had the JP2 clone detected. Meta‐analyses included 16 studies and 1775 patients, and revealed an association between detection of the JP2 clone and diagnosis of periodontitis (RR = 1.86, 95% 1.43–2.42) from saliva and plaque, with high heterogeneity (I2 = 85%, p <.00001). Meta‐analyses included 5 studies and 616 patients, and revealed an association between baseline detection of the JP2 clone and onset of periodontitis over 2 to 5 years (RR = 4.12, 95% 2.42–7.00), with high heterogeneity (I2 = 81%, p <.0003). From the overall risk of bias score, 29 papers were judged as low risk of bias, whilst the remaining papers were judged to have an overall medium or high risk of bias. Detection of the JP2 clone of A.a. in subgingival plaque and saliva samples is associated with increased odds of diagnosis of periodontitis and may be able to predict onset of periodontitis. This systematic review provides clear evidence that in certain populations, the JP2 clone of A.a. is associated with early‐onset periodontitis. Currently, there are many different therapies available for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including engineered live bacterial therapeutics. However, most of these studies focus on producing a single therapeutic drug using individual bacteria, which may cause inefficacy. The use of dual drugs can enhance therapeutic effects. However, expressing multiple therapeutic drugs in one bacterial chassis increases the burden on the bacterium and hinders good secretion and expression. Therefore, a dual-bacterial, dual-drug expression system allows for the introduction of two probiotic chassis and enhances both therapeutic and probiotic effects. In this study, we constructed a dual bacterial system to simultaneously neutralize pro-inflammatory factors and enhance the anti-inflammatory pathway. These bacteria for therapy consist of Escherichia coli Nissle 1917 that expressed and secreted anti-TNF-α nanobody and IL-10, respectively. The oral administration of genetically engineered bacteria led to a decrease in inflammatory cell infiltration in colon and a reduction in the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines. Additionally, the administration of engineered bacteria did not markedly aggravate gut fibrosis and had a moderating effect on intestinal microbes. This system proposes a dual-engineered bacterial drug combination treatment therapy for inflammatory bowel disease, which provides a new approach to intervene and treat IBD. Climate change, driven by anthropogenic activities, has far-reaching consequences for our planet. Among its many impacts, changes in temperature, elevated carbon dioxide levels, and shifts in greenhouse gas concentrations significantly affect soil ecosystems. In particular, soil microbial communities play a pivotal role in nutrient cycling, organic matter decomposition, and overall soil health. Soil microbial communities respond differently to the effects of climate change, like elevated warming and precipitation. The change in climatic conditions is reported to be adversely affecting soil biological activity directly through either drying or wetting of soil or affecting their associated plants. This review delves into the intricate relationship between climate change and soil microbial abundance, diversity, and distribution. The paper also discusses climatic change pressure on soil enzymatic activity and microbial biomasses, as well as soil faunal activity, as they are key indicators of soil health in a changing climate. Soil microbial communities cope with climate change by changing their diversity and physiological characteristics and by changing their symbiotic plants, which indicates the role of soil microbes in withstanding the negative impact of climate change.
