Background: Bipolar disorder is a serious mental illness, which requires new strategies for prevention and management. Recent evidence suggests that a ketogenic diet may be an effective intervention. This research aimed to explore the feasibility and acceptability of a ketogenic diet intervention for bipolar disorder, fidelity to its behavioural components and the experiences of the participants and research clinicians involved. Methods: A mixed-methods process evaluation was conducted. Semi-structured telephone interviews were carried out with 15 participants 1–2 months after completing a 6–8 week modified ketogenic diet intervention, and 4 research clinicians from the study team following the completion of data collection. Data were thematically analysed. Fidelity checklists completed by research dietitians were analysed using descriptive count and percentage statistics. Findings are reported post-hoc, following the analysis and publication of the main pilot study findings. Reporting was guided by the COREQ checklist. Results: Five themes were identified in the qualitative data: (1) 'Encouraging entry and supporting exit' (e.g. recognising and managing participants' varied motives and expectations, including around weight loss and symptom alleviation); (2) 'Challenging but potentially transformational,' which reflects that while it can be difficult to initiate and maintain a ketogenic diet day-to-day, many participants perceived physical and psychological benefits (e.g. significant weight loss, mood stability and enhanced ability to focus); (3) 'Intervention facilitators,' including a range of behavioural (e.g. goal setting), social (e.g. family and dietitians) and technological (e.g. apps for monitoring) support mechanisms; (4) 'Intervention barriers' (e.g. dietary preferences, concerns about the diet and its impact, the testing burden and capacity of the delivery team); and (5) 'The wider context' (e.g. the cost of living and sociocultural expectations) was a crucial factor explaining differential experiences. Overall, descriptive analyses indicated moderate-to-good fidelity to the behaviour change components of the study. Conclusion: We provide novel insight into the experiences of people living with bipolar disorder initiating and following a ketogenic diet, as well as those of research clinicians who support the intervention. Future trials may benefit from increased clinical research capacity, better-defined entry and exit routes, additional interpersonal support, and greater understanding of how social and societal factors impact participation. Here we introduce CBGTPy, a virtual environment for designing and testing goal-directed agents with internal dynamics that are modeled on the cortico-basal-ganglia-thalamic (CBGT) pathways in the mammalian brain. CBGTPy enables researchers to investigate the internal dynamics of the CBGT system during a variety of tasks, allowing for the formation of testable predictions about animal behavior and neural activity. The framework has been designed around the principle of flexibility, such that many experimental parameters in a decision making paradigm can be easily defined and modified. Here we demonstrate the capabilities of CBGTPy across a range of single and multi-choice tasks, highlighting the ease of set up and the biologically realistic behavior that it produces. We show that CBGTPy is extensible enough to apply to a range of experimental protocols and to allow for the implementation of model extensions with minimal developmental effort. Objectives: The present study describes the comparative effect of 24-week supplementation of beeswax alcohol (BWA, Raydel®, 0.5% and 1.0%, wt/wt) and coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10, 0.5% and 1.0%, wt/wt) on plasma oxidative variables and the prevention of organ injury in adult zebrafish subjected to a high-cholesterol (HC, 4%, wt/wt) and -D-galactose (Gal, 30%, wt/wt) diet. Methods: Adult zebrafish were fed various HC+Gal diets enriched with either BWA or CoQ10. After 24 weeks of dietary intervention, blood and organs were harvested for subsequent biochemical and histological evaluations. Results: The HC+Gal-elevated plasma oxidative variables were reverted by the consumption of BWA, marked by the lowest plasma malondialdehyde (MDA) level and highest sulfhydryl content. The HC+Gal-impaired zebrafish swimming ability (staggering movement) was substantially recovered by BWA, manifested by a ~three-fold (p < 0.001) enhancement in swimming distance and speed. Also, the intake of BWA affected the morphology of HC+Gal-compromised kidney and induced histological changes by mitigating reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and cellular senescence, which was markedly more effective than the results seen in the CoQ10 group. Likewise, BWA proved effective in preventing HC+Gal-induced testis damage, apparent in the 48.3% (p < 0.05) higher spermatozoa and 26.3% (p < 0.01) reduced interstitial space between the seminiferous tubules. BWA substantially prevented HC+Gal-induced ovary damage by suppressing oxidative stress, lipid deposition and senescence, leading to the restoration of mature vitellogenic oocyte counts. Conclusion: BWA demonstrated a greater ability than CoQ10 to enhance plasma antioxidant status, suppress ROS generation, delay organ aging and alleviate HC+Gal-induced adversity in zebrafish. The current study was conducted from November, 2023 to June, 2024 in the villages of the Kashi Vidyapith block of Varanasi district, Uttar Pradesh (221 107), India to assess soil and water quality status. We have collected forty GPS (Global Positioning System)-based soil samples from depths of 0-15 cm and thirty water samples from the villages. The collected soil and water samples underwent analysis for physicochemical characteristics. The coefficient of variation for available nutrients fluctuated, with values for available nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulphur, calcium, and magnesium recorded at 24.85%, 22.13%, 13.53%, 14.87%, 16.87%, and 16.40%, respectively. The nutritional index in the identified samples indicated that the amounts of available nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and sulphur were generally low. The water analysis revealed that the range of pH (7.6-8.8), electrical conductivity (EC) (0.56-2.33 dS m-1), chlorides (0.4-1.2 Meq l-1), carbonates and bicarbonates (0.4-1.2 Meq l-1 and 7.6-18.8 Meq l-1), while calcium and magnesium (5.8-75 Meq l-1). Additional, parameters such as permeability index (PI) range from 5.9-53.8 exceed permissible limits, whereas sodium (0.17-0.78 Meq l-1), potassium (0.02-2.89 Meq l-1), sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) (0.03-0.17 Meq l-1), soluble sodium percentage (SSP) (0.53-10 Meq l-1), potassium ratio (KR) (0.003-0.037), and residual sodium carbonate (RSC) (-60.6-4.6 Meq l-1) remain within permissible limits. Derivated from specific factors, the water quality index ranges from 153.43-444.23, suggesting a marginally unsustainable water quality. The integrated use of biofertilizers, bioinoculants, and site-specific nutrient management is essential for improving soil health and enhancing nutrient availability for plants. In this paper, we present a mathematical predator–prey model in which the predator population is divided into two stages: mature (adult) stage and juvenile stage. Therefore, three coupled ordinary differential equations are incorporated in the predator–prey model with three state variables; mature predator, juvenile predator and prey. This predator–prey model is described in terms of Caputo, Caputo–Fabrizio (C–F) and fractal–fractional (F–F) operators. The fractional order predator–prey dynamical model helps to describe the efficacy (usefulness, effectiveness) of memory and hereditary properties with the help of fractional operators. We have investigated the uniqueness and existence of solutions with C–F and fractal–fractional (F–F) derivatives using the fixed point postulate. This model also exhibits Ulam's type of stability based on nonlinear functional analysis. Numerical and behavioral analyses of the non-integer predator–prey model have been carried out using phase portraits. The predator–prey system with Caputo–Fabrizio (C–F) and fractal–fractional (F–F) operators have been solved numerically via the Adams-Bashforth scheme and new predictor–corrector scheme respectively. In an analysis of numerical simulations of predator–prey models, we have illustrated the effectiveness and applicability of these methods. The prolonged consumption of D-galactose (Gal) has been associated with severe damage in the liver and brain via exacerbation of oxidative stress, non-enzymatic glycation, and the aging process. The current study was initiated for a comparative assessment of beeswax alcohol (BWA, final 0.5% and 1.0% w/w) and coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10, final 0.5% and 1.0% w/w) against high-cholesterol (HC, final 4%, w/w) and -galactose (Gal, final 30%, w/w)-induced adverse events in zebrafish during 24 weeks of consumption. The survivability of zebrafish decreased to 82.1% due to HC+Gal exposure, but this was substantially improved (91.0%) with the consumption of 0.5% and 1.0% BWA. In contrast, no protective effect of CoQ10 consumption (1.0%) was observed on the survivability of zebrafish. Nevertheless, both BWA and CoQ10 displayed a significant (p < 0.001) preventive effect against HC+Gal-induced body weight enhancement. The HC+Gal-induced cognitive changes, marked by staggered and confused swimming behavior, and retarded swimming speed and motion patterns (restricted to the bottom of the tank), were efficiently restored by BWA. A significantly higher residence time in the upper half of the tank, 3.1-and 4.5-fold reduced latency time along with 3.5-fold and 4.1-fold higher swimming distance, was logged in the 0.5% and 1.0% BWA groups, respectively, than the zebrafish that consumed HC+Gal. In addition, BWA effectively enhanced plasma ferric ion reduction (FRA) and paraoxonase (PON) activity and alleviated the total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), and blood glucose levels disrupted by the consumption of HC+Gal. Also, the HC+Gal-alleviated plasma high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) was 2.6-fold (p < 0.001) enhanced in the group that consumed 1.0% BWA, which was significantly 1.5-fold (p < 0.001) better than the effect of 1.0% CoQ10. Similarly, BWA displayed a superior impact over CoQ10 to mitigate HC+Gal-induced plasma AST and ALT levels, hepatic IL-6 production, generation of oxidized species, cellular senescence, and fatty liver changes. Moreover, BWA protects the brain against HC+Gal-induced oxidative stress, apoptosis, and myelin sheath degeneration. Conclusively, compared to CoQ10, BWA efficiently can the HC+Gal-impaired brain and liver functionality to subside and improves the dyslipidemia and cognitive behavior of zebrafish. Aphids (Hemiptera: Aphididae) are known for their remarkable adaptability and diversity, with most species richness found in temperate regions and worldwide distribution. Climate change is expected to affect aphid populations, especially their overwintering success. In this study, we aimed to investigate the diversity of wheat aphid populations and dynamics of overwintering success of aphids across early to late sown wheat. We employed both morphological and molecular techniques to distinguish and characterize six aphid species: Rhopalosiphum maidis, Rhopalosiphum rufiabdominalis, Rhopalosiphum padi, Sitobion avenae, Schizaphis graminum, and Metopolophium dirhodum. Among these, Rhopalosiphum maidis and Rhopalosiphum rufiabdominalis found to affect at the vegetative stage of the crop, while the other species were found to affect at the reproductive stage. Notably, we observed that aphid populations were more abundant on early-sown genotypes and decreased with normal and late sowing dates. The differences in peak aphid populations among different sowing dates revealed that delayed in sowing dates minimize aphid attack by producing asynchrony between host plant and the aphid population. Conversely, the environmental factors such as temperature, relative humidity, rainfall and bright sunshine hours varied across the sowing dates where early sown wheat genotypes are exposed to lower temperatures at vegetative stage and late sown genotypes are susceptible to higher temperatures at the terminal stage. These changes in environmental factors across different sowing dates affected the timing and duration of aphid life stages, including overwintering success. Nevertheless, understanding the diversity and distribution of aphid species in wheat crop and its response to different sowing dates could be crucial for developing effective pest management strategies, particularly in the context of climate change. Overall, this study highlights the need for ongoing aphid monitoring and adaptive management approaches that account for the dynamic interactions between pests, crops and the environment. Background: In India, Non-Degree Allopathic Providers (NDAPs), who do not have formal training in allopathic medicine, play a prominent role in basic healthcare delivery in both rural areas and urban informal settlements. Often recognized as providers of 'first contact' care for minor acute ailments, there is little information regarding the roles they play in providing services for non-communicable diseases (NCDs). In this study, we explore the roles played by NDAPs in diagnosing and managing two NCDs—diabetes and hypertension—in urban informal settlements of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Methods: This is a qualitative study involving data collection with 25 NDAPs (19 males and 6 females). Data was collected between December 2022 and September 2023. Data was coded inductively, and an iterative process of coding was followed to derive key themes. These themes were further refined through reflections within the author group. The qualitative software NVivo Version 10.3 was used to facilitate the analysis process. Results: All NDAPs we spoke to noted an increase in diabetes and hypertension patients in the urban informal settlements they worked in. All of them provided medication for 'quick relief' to patients from the bothersome symptoms of the two diseases. But in some cases, NDAPs also reported acting as counsellors, patient navigators, and local supervisors of therapy initiated by other doctors. Generally, risk-averse, NDAPs were cautious about how much of the diagnosis and treatment process they participated in. Those with informal and formal connections with private, qualified allopathic providers involved themselves more extensively in the management of the two NCDs. NDAPs had limited ties with the public health system and preferred sending patients to other private doctors if they felt a case was beyond their purview. Conclusion: The informal health sector in India is currently offering a range of services to address the needs of patients with NCDs. Our study suggests that the strong presence of this sector in resource-constrained communities can be leveraged by the public health system to enable community-level screening for NCDs, facilitate access to specialist care, improve treatment adherence, and promote wellness initiatives. In light of the changing epidemiological burden, our study underscores that despite the contentious nature of practices in the informal health sector, overlooking this group of providers is no longer an option for health policies. Reactive inhibitory control is crucial for survival. Traditionally, this control in mammals was attributed solely to the hyperdirect pathway, with cortical control signals flowing unidirectionally from the subthalamic nucleus (STN) to basal ganglia output regions. Yet recent findings have put this model into question, suggesting that the STN is assisted in stopping actions through ascending control signals to the striatum mediated by the external globus pallidus (GPe). Here, we investigate this suggestion by harnessing a biologically constrained spiking model of the cortico-basal gangliathalamic (CBGT) circuit that includes pallidostriatal pathways originating from arkypallidal neurons. Through a series of experiments probing the interaction between three critical inhibitory nodes (the STN, arkypallidal cells, and indirect pathway spiny projection neurons), we find that the GPe acts as a critical mediator of both ascending and descending inhibitory signals in the CBGT circuit. In particular, pallidostriatal pathways regulate this process by weakening the direct pathway dominance of the evidence accumulation process driving decisions, which increases the relative suppressive influence of the indirect pathway on basal ganglia output. Considering the importance of nickel and iron nutrition for the soybean crop, their deficiency inhibits the yield drastically specially in the area where soybean crop is dominant. To encounter this problem, a pot experiment was conducted in glass house on low nickel and iron soil in Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, during 2019–20 and 2021–22. The study was carried out to investigate the effect of Ni (nickel) and Fe (iron) on the post-harvest soil parameters, growth, yield, nutrient uptake and nutrient content of soybean crop. There were 10 treatments with two levels of Ni (5 and 10 mg kg −1) and Fe (10 and 20 mg kg−1) with recommended dosage of fertilizers nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium (8.93, 35.71, and 17.86 mg kg−1) applied to all treatments except control. The result of the experiment revealed that the co-application of nickel and iron@10 mg kg−1 and 20 mg kg−1 (RDF + Ni10Fe20), resulted in the increase in plant height, greeness index, no of seed per pod, no of pod per plant, seed yield, and stover yield. Similar, findings for the post- harvest soil parameter indicated that there was increase in pH, electrical conductivity, and organic carbon content of soil. DTPA (Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid) extractable Ni, Fe, Zn, and Cu, also found highest in treatment where nickel and iron@10 mg kg−1 and 20 mg kg−1 (RDF + Ni10Fe20) were applied in soil, but in case of DTPA extractable Mn, the highest amount was found in treatment where nickel and iron@10 mg kg−1 and 10 mg kg−1 (RDF + Ni10Fe10) was applied in soil. The soil microbial biomass carbon and urease activity was also found highest in the treatment where nickel and iron@10 and 20 mg kg−1 was applied in soil. The minimum plant height, greeness index, no of seed per pod, no of pod per plant, seed, and stover yield was recorded in treatment where only RDF(T1) was applied. Similar, result recorded for the post-harvest soil parameters. Developing rice types with shorter life cycle without compromising yield is vital for sustainable agriculture, as it can significantly reduce water and fertilizer consumption while enabling early harvest. Despite recent advancements in identifying the genes associated with heading date, the intricate regulatory network governing this process remains largely unexplored. In rice, one such gene, GHD7 (QTL for grain‐heading‐date on chromosome 7), encodes a CCT (CONSTANS, CONSTANS‐LIKE and TIMING OF CAB1) domain protein and plays a pivotal role in regulating flowering time and associated developmental processes. To gain insight into the role of OsGHD7 in improving yield, we have overexpressed OsGHD7 in the widely cultivated and photoperiod‐insensitive rice variety IR64. This led to notable phenotypic changes in rice, including tiller number and grain number (66% increase), along with the promotion of early flowering (8–9 days preponement). Interestingly, these plants also exhibited enhanced tolerance to drought and salinity stress and showed better post‐stress recovery. Background/Objectives: Beeswax alcohol (BWA; Raydel®) is a blend of six long-chain aliphatic alcohols extracted from honeybee wax and is well known for its diverse functionality and health benefits. Herein, the efficacy of a BWA dietary intervention for 20 weeks was assessed to ameliorate high-cholesterol diet (HCD)-induced dyslipidemia and adverse effects on the vital organs of adult zebrafish. Methods: Adult zebrafish were fed different high-cholesterol diets (HCDs; final concentration of 4%, w/w) supplemented with BWA (final concentrations of 0.1%, 0.5% and 1.0%, w/w) or CoQ10 (final concentration of 1.0%). Following 20 weeks of supplementation, blood and different organs (liver, kidney, testes and ovaries) were collected, and biochemical, histological and immunohistochemical analyses were performed. Results: The results demonstrate a dose-dependent effect of BWA of mitigating HCD-induced mortality in zebrafish over the 20-week supplementation period, which was noticeably better than the effect exerted by coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). Consistently, a dose-dependent effect of BWA consumption of curtailing HCD-induced total cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG) levels and increasing high-density-lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels was noticed. Compared with CoQ10 (final concentration of 1.0%, w/w), BWA (final concentration of 1.0%, w/w) displayed a significantly better effect of mitigating HCD-induced dyslipidemia, as evidenced by 1.2-fold (p < 0.05) and 2.0-fold (p < 0.05) lower TC and TG levels and 2.4-fold (p < 0.01) higher HDL-C levels. The histological analysis revealed substantial prevention of fatty liver changes, reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, cellular senescence and interleukin (IL)-6 production in the hepatic tissue of BWA zebrafish, which was significantly better than the effect exerted by CoQ10. Consistently, compared with CoQ10, significant 25% (p < 0.05) and 35% (p < 0.01) reductions in the HCD-induced elevated levels of the hepatic function biomarkers aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase was observed in the BWA group. Likewise, BWA consumption efficiently ameliorated HCD-induced kidney, ovary and testis damage by inhibiting ROS generation, cellular senescence and lipid accumulation. Conclusion: Supplementation with BWA demonstrated higher therapeutic potential than that with CoQ10 to prevent dyslipidemia and organ damage associated with long-term consumption of HCDs. A study was conducted to assess the soil quality of Chauth Ka Barwara block in Sawai Madhopur district, Rajasthan. A total of thirty soil samples were collected at a depth of 0-15 cm. The samples were obtained at regular intervals of around 1 km, utilizing a random sampling approach. The soil samples were air dried in a shade area at room temperature, grind into a fine powder using a ceramic mortar, and filtered a 2 mm sieve and subsequent physico-chemical analysis. The results showed the bulk density (1.12-1.46 g cm-3), particle density (2.22-2.92 g cm-3), porosity (38.72-52.35%), water holding capacity (27.30-44.92%), pH (6.2-8.2), electrical conductivity (0.11-0.89 dS m-1), organic carbon (0.16-0.99%), available nitrogen (62.72-188.16 kg ha-1), available phosphorus (6.72-52.86 kg ha-1), available potassium (246.4-397.5 kg ha-1), available sulfur (1.11-12.26 kg ha-1), available calcium (1.10-25.5 meq 100-1), available magnesium(1.8-23.6 meq 100-1), available iron (1.80-7.40 mg kg-1), available manganese (1.50-8.10 mg kg-1), available copper (0.11-2.30 mg kg-1), and available zinc (0.10-4.30 mg kg-1). The analysis reveals that 43.33% of the samples demonstrate a moderately alkaline response, 6.66% produce a strongly alkaline reaction, and 26.66% present a neutral reaction. 90% of samples fall within the acceptable range while 10% exceed it marginally. The organic carbon content is classified as low at 53.33%, high at 16.66%, and medium at 30%. This research focuses on assessing landslide susceptibility in the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) region of the northwestern Himalayas, which is known for its high incidence of landslides. Utilizing advanced geographic information system (GIS) techniques, 18 influencing factors, including terrain characteristics, land use, rainfall, and lithology, were incorporated to create a comprehensive landslide susceptibility map (LSM). Leveraging a robust database comprising 6669 landslides, with 70% utilized for modelling and 30% for validation, the study utilized a Yule's coefficient (YC). The resulting LSM, categorized into five susceptibility zones, indicates that one third of the study area is highly susceptible to landslides, with 9.9, 23.9, 27.9, 23.1, and 15.2% falling into very high, high, moderate, low, and very low susceptibility zones, respectively. The model’s accuracy was validated with an 80.9% success rate through receiver operating curve (ROC) analysis. This LSM serves as a crucial tool for regional planning and management, providing valuable insights to mitigate landslide hazards. It facilitates informed decision-making and proactive measures and enhances resilience in landslide-prone areas, thereby contributing to the sustainable development and safety of the J&K Himalayan region. CIGB-258 is known to exert anti-inflammatory activity via structural stabilization of apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I) and functional enhancement of high-density lipoproteins (HDL) against acute toxicity of carboxymethyllysine (CML). The co-presence of CIGB-258 in reconstituted HDL (rHDL) formed larger rHDL particles and enhanced anti-inflammatory activity in a dose-dependent manner of apoA-I:CIGB-258, 1:0, 1:0.1, 1:0.5, and 1:1 of molar ratio, in the synthesis of the rHDL. However, no study has evaluated the enhancement of HDL functionality by the co-presence of lipid-free apoA-I and CIGB-258. The present study was therefore designed to compare the structural stabilization and functional improvement of HDL in the presence of lipid-free apoA-I and CIGB-258 in molar ratios of 1:0, 1:0.1, 1:0.5, and 1:1 within both HDL2 and HDL3. As the concentration of CIGB-258 increased, it effectively inhibited the cupric-ion-induced oxidation of HDL, thereby safeguarding apoA-I from proteolytic degradation. Additionally, the wound-healing activity of zebrafish was significantly (p < 0.01) enhanced by the co-addition of apoA-I:CIGB-258 (1:1) up to 1.6-fold higher than apoA-I alone (1:0) under the presence of CML. ApoA-I:CIGB-258 (1:1) treatment exhibited the lowest apoptosis and production of reactive oxygen species against CML-induced damage in the wound site. Also, an increase in wounded tissue granulation and epidermis thickness was observed with increasing concentration of CIGB-258 during 48 h post-treatment via the healing process. Intraperitoneal injection of apoA-I:CIGB-258 mixture remarkably ameliorated the acute paralysis and restored zebrafish swimming ability impaired by the acute toxicity of CML. The increase of CIGB-258 content, especially co-injection of apoA-I:CIGB-258 (1:1), leads to a significant 2.3-fold (p < 0.001) and 4.1-fold (p < 0.001) higher zebrafish survivability and recovery of swimming ability, respectively, than those of CML-control. The current study was designed to compare in vivo efficacy between beeswax alcohol (BWA) and coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) to treat fatty liver changes, oxidative stress, and damages in major organs of zebrafish by 12 weeks with high-cholesterol (HC) and galactose (Gal) supplementation. At week 12, the HC control and HC+Gal control groups showed 96% and 92% survivability, respectively, while co-supplementation of the 0.5% BWA and 1.0% BWA groups exhibited 96% and 100% survivability. However, co-supplementation of the 0.5% CoQ10 and 1.0% CoQ10 groups revealed the lowest survivability, around 92% and 89%, respectively. The 0.5% BWA and 1.0% BWA groups showed 21% (p < 0.001) and 41% (p < 0.001), respectively, lower total cholesterol (TC) than the HC+Gal control, while the 1.0% CoQ10 group showed only 15% lower TC than the control. Interestingly, the 0.5% BWA and 1.0% BWA groups showed 22% (p < 0.001) and 38% (p < 0.001), respectively, lower triglyceride (TG) than the HC+Gal control. However, both the 0.5% CoQ10 and 1.0% CoQ10 groups showed similar TG levels as the control, suggesting that CoQ10 supplementation had no effect on lowering serum TG. The 1.0% BWA group showed the highest plasma HDL-C and HDL-C/TC (%) up to 3.2-fold and 5.5-fold, respectively, higher than those of the HC+Gal control, while the 1.0% CoQ10 group showed 2.4-fold and 2.8-fold higher plasma HDL-C and HDL-C/TC (%), respectively, than the control. The plasma aspartate transaminase (AST) and alanine transaminase (ALT) levels were lowest in the 1.0% BWA group, 51% and 72%, respectively, lower than HC+Gal control, suggesting the lowest extent of hepatic damage. In hepatic tissue, neutrophil infiltration and interleukin (IL)-6 production were the lowest in the 1.0% BWA group, around 67% and 85%, respectively, lower than the HC+Gal control. Fatty liver change, cellular apoptosis, and cell senescence in hepatic tissue were remarkably lowered in the 1.0% BWA group, while the CoQ10 group showed much less effect than the BWA group. In kidney, ovary, and testis tissue, the 1.0% BWA group showed the lowest production of reactive oxygen species, the extent of cellular senescence, and cellular apoptosis with the healthiest cell morphology. Currently, courts face challenges such as inconsistencies, adjournments, and absence of transparency, undermining the justice system. Traditional manual processes and paper-based documentation cause significant backlogs, slow resolutions, and limited public access. As case volumes and complexities rise, modernizing court administration through digital transformation is progressively critical. Currently, many countries are integrating technologies in the courts for its administration and other activities. In recent years, courts and judges have been subjected to pressure to improve performance, uplifting judicial effectiveness to a top priority. Subsequently, several countries have integrated simplification and digitization strategies in judicial initiatives to enhance court efficiency. Switzerland's Justitia 4.0 and Brazil's PJE are notable initiatives that focused to strengthen court administration through digitalization. These aspects motivated this study to examine the detailed integration of industry 4.0 technologies such as the Internet of things, cloud computing, blockchain, big data analytics, robotics, drones, Metaverse, digital twins, and artificial intelligence for court administration with digitalized infrastructure. According to the study, integrating these technologies in less complex cases helps minimize expenditures and save time, making to resolve cases conveniently, efficiently, and superiorly. Fourteen causative and two triggering factors, such as slope, aspect, curvature, relative relief (RR), terrain ruggedness index (TRI), geomorphon, dissection index (Di), lithology, structural tectonic, drainage density (Dd), stream power index (SPI), topographic wetness index (TWI), land use land cover (LULC), road density (Rd), earthquake density (Ed), and rainfall density (Rd), were selected based on terrain conditions to assess landslide susceptibility. Utilizing frequency ratio (FR) and information value (IV) approaches, a comprehensive landslide susceptibility mapping (LSM) study covered 54,922 km2, incorporating 6669 landslide instances. This dataset was split into 70% (4659 landslides) for modeling and 30% (2010 landslides) for validation. The landslide susceptibility map, classified into five categories (very low, low, moderate, high, and very high), delineates varying proportions of the study area. Using the FR approach, these zones cover 12.9% (7063 km2), 25.7% (14,101 km2), 25.6% (14,049 km2), 24.7% (13,586 km2), and 11.1% (6123 km2) of the area, respectively. Prunus mume (maesil) is an economically important fruit in Korea. Recently, public interest in maesil sugar syrup is increasing. However, the presence of toxic amygdalin in the fruit syrup is a concern. Thus, the current investigation aimed to observe effects of maesil maturity, ripening methods, processing, and fermentation period on the amygdalin level in maesil sugar syrup. Six different types of maesil sugar syrup were prepared and amygdalin content was monitored at 3-month intervals. Higher levels (>63 mg/L) of amygdalin were found in syrups prepared from unripe fruit compared to those in syrups made from ripe fruit after 3 months of fermentation. A rapid reduction in amygdalin content was observed until 9 months in all syrups, gradually reducing to <5 mg/L at 12 months. Policosanol is a blend of long-chain aliphatic alcohols (LCAAs) and is well-known for several health-beneficial activities; however, the functionality of policosanol varied substantially based on the composition of LCAAs. In this study, two distinct policosanols, Raydel® (extracted from Cuban sugarcane wax) and BOC Sciences (extracted from Chinese sugarcane wax), were dietarily supplemented (0.1% w/w) for 12 weeks in hyperlipidemic zebrafish to examine their influence on the blood lipid profile and functionality of the liver, kidney, and reproductive organs. The results demonstrated a noteworthy impact of both policosanols on preventing high-cholesterol diet (HCD, 4% w/w)-induced dyslipidemia by decreasing total cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG) levels in the plasma. However, compared to BOC Sciences, the Raydel® policosanol exhibited a significantly (p < 0.05) higher efficacy in reducing HCD-induced TC and TG levels. A substantial effect was observed exclusively with the Raydel® policosanol in mitigating HCD-impaired low-density-lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-density-lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels. Hepatic histology and immunohistochemistry (IHC) analysis revealed the higher efficacy of Raydel® policosanol over BOC Sciences policosanol to prevent HCD-provoked fatty liver changes, cellular senescence, oxidative stress, and interleukin (IL)-6 production. Consistently, a significantly higher effect of Raydel® over BOC Sciences policosanol was observed on the protection of kidney, testis, and ovary morphology hampered by HCD consumption. In addition, Raydel® policosanol exhibited a notably stronger effect (~2-fold, p < 0.05) on the egg-laying ability of the zebrafish compared to policosanol from BOC Sciences. Furthermore, Raydel® policosanol plays a crucial role in improving embryo viability and mitigating developmental defects caused by the intake of an HCD. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a chronic inflammatory disease, is characterized by joint swelling, cartilage erosion, and bone destruction. This study investigated the therapeutic efficacy of Carnosic acid (CA), a natural compound with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, in an adjuvant-induced arthritis model. Paw swelling and arthritis index were measured. Oxidative stress markers, including lipid peroxidation and antioxidant enzyme levels, were assessed. Synovial tissue was analyzed for pro-inflammatory markers using real-time Q-PCR and Western blotting. The expression of mPGES-1 was determined by Western blotting. Peripheral neuropathic pain was assessed using cold and mechanical allodynia tests. Bone loss was quantitatively assessed through microcomputed tomography (μCT) scanning of femurs and X-ray radiography. Indomethacin-induced gastric ulcers were evaluated. Molecular docking studies were conducted to analyze the binding affinity of CA to mPGES-1. The CA treatment not only demonstrated a significant reduction in joint inflammation and paw swelling but also mitigated oxidative stress and improved the antioxidant defence system. CA inhibited microsomal prostaglandin E synthase-1 (mPGES-1) expression and the expression of pro-inflammatory molecules such as inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenases-2 (COX-2), thus attenuating the arthritis symptoms without severe gastrointestinal side effects. Additionally, it inhibited the expression of pro-inflammatory molecules such as iNOS and COX-2, contributing to the reduction of arthritis symptoms. Notably, CA treatment prevented the common side effects of traditional RA treatments like corticosteroids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including weight loss, bone degradation, and gastric ulcers. These findings suggest that CA, through specific enzyme inhibition, offers a compelling alternative therapeutic approach for RA. Further research is warranted to explore the potential of CA in other arthritis models and its suitability for human RA treatment. Background: Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) is a rare but contagious disease caused by Ebola Virus (EBOV). The first Ebola outbreaks were reported in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) before subsequent reported cases in Western and East African countries, including Uganda, which borders Tanzania. Proximity to EVD-infected countries raises the prospect of cross-border transmission, raising alarm in Tanzania. This study aimed to explore the cultural practices likely to prevent or escalate EVD transmission in the event of its outbreak in the country. Methods: This rapid ethnographic assessment employed observation, interviews, and focus group discussions to collect data from people with diverse characteristics in five regions of Tanzania Mainland namely, Kagera, Kigoma, Mwanza and Songwe regions and Zanzibar Island. The qualitative data was then subjected to thematic analysis. Findings: Cultural practices may escalate the transmission of EVD and hinder its prevention and control. These cultural practices include caring sick people at home, confirmation of death, mourning, and body preparation for burial. Communal life, ceremonies, and social gatherings were other aspects observed to have the potential for compounding EVD transmission and hindering its containment in case of an outbreak. Conclusion: Cultural practices may escalate EVD transmission as identified in the study settings. As such, Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) activities should be interventionist in transforming cultural practices that may escalate the spread of EVD as part of preparedness, prevention, and control efforts in the event of an outbreak. The climate changes impact the surface water quality fed by the glaciers of high altitude throughout the world. Consistent increase in water pollution is observed mainly by rapid industrialization, extreme use of fertilizers to fulfill the ever-growing food demand, urbanization, and other anthropogenic activities. River Mandakini in Kedarnath Valley has not been scientifically studied till date in a composite manner. Hence, we collected water samples from Chandrapuri, Agastyamuni, and Tilwara in seasons such as summer, rainy, and winter. Various water quality parameters like temperature, pH, DO (dissolved oxygen), BOD (biochemical oxygen demand), COD (chemical oxygen demand), TDS (total dissolved solids) and TSS (total suspended solids) of all the samples collected were studied. The results of all these physicochemical parameters of river water have shown a considerable decrease compared with the standard values of BIS. The deteriorated water quality of the river poses potential health hazards to people using this water for drinking purposes and aquatic beings residing in the Ganga River. The findings of the present study reflect an overall decline in the water quality of the river and warn of its uses to human beings and the biotic community of the Ganga River. Objective: The aim of this study was to explore the correlation between insulin resistance (IR) and serum anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) in those women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Methodology: This study was a prospective observational study conducted on women attending a gynecology clinic, in whom PCOS was diagnosed by the Rotterdam criteria and those who fulfilled the inclusion criteria, from January 2020 to July 2021. Detailed history, complete physical examination, and signs of hyperandrogenism were noted. A hormone profile and ultrasonography for ovarian morphology were done. Correlation between AMH and IR was done in four phenotypes of PCOS. The results were analyzed with the help of appropriate statistical tests. Results: The mean IR was 2.35 ± 0.87 in phenotype A, 2.20 ± 0.74 in phenotype B, 1.83 ± 0.91 in phenotype C and 1.69 ± 0.75 in phenotype D. The mean values of both AMH and IR showed a decreasing pattern from phenotype A to phenotype D. The results were statistically significant (p-value = 0.004). Introduction: Muscle cramps are a common and significant complication during haemodialysis, with a prevalence ranging from 35% to 86% among patients. These cramps can greatly impact the quality of life and overall well-being of those undergoing dialysis. Understanding the causes and exploring various treatment and prevention strategies is crucial for managing this condition effectively. Muscle cramps among haemodialysis patients, especially the elderly, can be effectively managed through various interventions. Intradialytic stretching exercises have shown significant promise in reducing cramp severity. Additional therapies like SCDs and acupressure further offer complementary benefits. By implementing these strategies, healthcare providers can enhance the quality of life for hemodialysis patients, ensuring better management of this common and troubling complication. Methodology: The study utilized a Quasi-Experimental Research Design, specifically a one-group pretest and posttest design. This design allows the researchers to measure changes in muscle cramp severity before and after the intervention (leg exercises) within the same group of participants. A Non-Probability Purposive Sampling Technique was employed. This method involves selecting subjects based on specific characteristics and relevance to the study, rather than random sampling. Patients undergoing haemodialysis from Selected government hospitals in Dehradun, Uttrakhand were included in the study Patients who were experiencing frequent muscle cramps during dialysis sessions In-Total 50 patients undergoing haemodialysis in the selected hospitals were included in the study. To assess the effectiveness of leg exercises on muscle cramps among haemodialysis patients, the following tools were used: Structured Questionnaire-Designed to gather demographic information and baseline data on the frequency and severity of muscle cramps. Cramp Severity Scale: A validated scale to quantify the severity of muscle cramps before and after the intervention. Data Collection Process Pre-Intervention Assessment: Demographic Data: Collected using the structured questionnaire. Electrochemical reactions are the unrivaled backbone of next‐generation energy storage, energy conversion, and healthcare devices. However, the real‐time visualization of electrochemical reactions remains the bottleneck for fully exploiting their intrinsic potential. Herein, for the first time, a universal approach to direct spatiotemporal‐dynamic in situ optical visualization of pH‐based as well as specific byproduct‐based electrochemical reactions is performed. As a highly relevant and impactful example, in‐operando optical visualization of on‐catalyst water splitting processes is performed in neutral water/seawater. HPTS (8‐hydroxypyrene‐1,3,6‐trisulfonicacid), known for its exceptional optical capability of detecting even the tiniest pH changes allows the unprecedented "spatiotemporal" real‐time visualization at the electrodes. As a result, it is unprecedentedly revealed that at a critical cathode‐to‐anode distance, the bulk‐electrolyte "self‐neutralization" phenomenon can be achieved during the water splitting process, leading to the practical realization of enhanced additive‐free neutral water splitting. Furthermore, it is experimentally unveiled that at increasing electrolyte flow rates, a swift and severe inhibition of the concomitantly forming acidic and basic 'fronts', developed at anode and cathode compartments are observed, thus acting as a "buffering" mechanism. To demonstrate the universal applicability of this elegant strategy which is not limited to pH changes, the technique is extended to visualization of hypochlorite/ chlorine at the anode during electrolysis of sea water using N‐(4‐butanoic acid) dansylsulfonamide (BADS). Increasing demand for polymeric foams, usually made of petroleum-based polymers, has raised concern about solid waste and its environmental impact, forcing scientists and researchers to find some biodegradable alternatives. However, these alternatives have limitations such as high density, more handling and processing costs, water and humidity-based degradation in cell structure, and inability to perform at elevated temperatures. This study discovers and examines a naturally occurring cellular material, the 'Gaina' cocoon, which is readily accessible in Uttarakhand hills and is inexpensive and biodegradable. Giana cocoon was found to have a density of 0.064 g/cc, which is lower than other natural biodegradable materials and very close to that of manufactured PLA foam. The morphological analysis revealed that the material has a cellular structure with irregularly shaped and sized cells. It has a semi-crystalline structure and is composed chiefly of carbon. Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy showed that the Gaina cocoon foam has carbon and hydrogen as prime and major contributors. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy revealed various functional groups inside the cocoon, which will help understand its bonding with various matrices or materials. The differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) peak at 145°C was the largest (from 100°C to 181°C), showing a maximum heat transfer of about 278.325 J/g. The material is also thermally stable up to 260°C and has a lower density than other biodegradable foams on the market. Overall, these discoveries provide light on the features of this natural cellular material, which has potential uses in various industries, like packaging, insulation, and building. Naringenin (NRG) inhibits the fungal 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase accountable for ergosterol synthesis in Candida albicans (C. albicans), a causative agent for cutaneous candidiasis. The particle size and ζ-potential of NRG-Zn2+ nanocomposites were respectively estimated to be 180.33 ± 1.22-nm and − 3.92 ± 0.35-mV. In silico data predicted the greater affinity of NRG-Zn2+ nanocomposite for 14α-demethylase and ceramide in comparison to NRG alone. Later, NRG-Zn2+ nanocomposites solution was transformed in to naringenin-zinc oxide nanocomposites loaded chitosan gel (NRG-Zn-CS-Gel) with viscosity and firmness of 854806.7 ± 52386.43 cP and 698.27 ± 10.35 g, respectively. The ex-vivo skin permeation demonstrated 70.49 ± 5.22% skin retention, significantly greater (P < 0.05) than 44.48 ± 3.06% of naringenin loaded chitosan gel (NRG-CS-Gel) and 31.24 ± 3.28% of naringenin solution (NRG Solution). NRG-Zn-CS-Gel demonstrated 6.71 ± 0.84% permeation of NRG with a flux value of 0.046 ± 0.01-µg/cm2/h. The MIC50 of NRG-Zn-CS-Gel against C. albicans was estimated to be 0.156-µg/mL with FICI (fractional inhibitory concentration index) of 0.018 that consequently exhibited synergistic efficacy. Further, NRG-Zn-CS-Gel demonstrated superior antifungal efficacy in C. albicans induced cutaneous candidiasis infection in Balb/c mice. The fungal burden in NRG-Zn-CS-Gel treated group was 109 ± 25 CFU/mL, significantly lower (P < 0.05) than positive control (2260 ± 446 CFU/mL), naringenin loaded chitosan gel (NRG-CS-Gel; 928 ± 127 CFU/mL) and chitosan gel (CS-Gel; 2116 ± 186 CFU/mL) treated mice. Further, histopathology examination and cytokine profiling of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-10 revealed the healing of skin and inflammation associated with cutaneous candidiasis infection. Policosanol is a mixture of long-chain aliphatic alcohols (LCAAs) derived from various plant and insect origins that are marketed by various companies with distinct formulations and brand names. Policosanols offer several beneficial effects to treat dyslipidemia and hypertension; however, a comprehensive functionality comparison of various policosanol brands has yet to be thoroughly explored. In the present study five distinct policosanol brands from different origins and countries, Raydel-policosanol, Australia (PCO1), Solgar-policosanol, USA (PCO2), NutrioneLife-monacosanol, South Korea (PCO3), Mothernest-policosanol, Australia (PCO4), and Peter & John-policosanol, New Zealand (PCO5) were compared via dietary supplementation (1% in diet, final wt/wt) to zebrafish for six weeks to investigate their impact on survivability, blood lipid profile, and functionality of vital organs under the influence of a high-cholesterol diet (HCD, final 4%, wt/wt). The results revealed that policosanol brands (PCO1–PCO5) had a substantial preventive effect against HCD-induced zebrafish body weight elevation and hyperlipidemia by alleviating total cholesterol (TC) and triglycerides (TG) in blood. Other than PCO3, all the brands significantly reduced the HCD's elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). On the contrary, only PCO1 displayed a significant elevation in high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) level against the consumption of HCD. The divergent effect of PCO1–PCO5 against HCD-induced hepatic damage biomarkers, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT), was observed. PCO1, PCO2, and PCO4 efficiently curtailed the AST and ALT levels; however, PCO3 and PCO5 potentially aggravated the HCD's elevated plasma AST and ALT levels. Consistently, the hepatic histology outcome revealed the least effectiveness of PCO3 and PCO5 against HCD-induced liver damage. On the contrary, PCO1 exhibited a substantial hepatoprotective role by curtailing HCD-induced fatty liver changes, cellular senescent, reactive oxygen species (ROS), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) production. Likewise, the histological outcome from the kidney, testis, and ovary revealed the significant curative effect of PCO1 against the HCD-induced adverse effects. The multivariate interpretation based on principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) validated the superiority of PCO1 over other policosanol brands against the clinical manifestation associated with HCD. CIGB-258, a 3 kDa peptide from heat shock protein 60, exhibits synergistic anti-inflammatory activity with apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I) in reconstituted high-density lipoproteins (rHDLs) via stabilization of the rHDL structure. This study explored the interactions between CIGB-258 and apoA-I in the lipid-free state to assess their synergistic effects in the structural and functional enhancement of apoA-I and HDL. A co-treatment of lipid-free apoA-I and CIGB-258 inhibited the cupric ion-mediated oxidation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and a lowering of oxidized species in the dose-responsive manner of CIGB-258. The co-presence of CIGB-258 caused a blue shift in the wavelength of maximum fluorescence (WMF) of apoA-I with protection from proteolytic degradation. The addition of apoA-I:CIGB-258, with a molar ratio of 1:0.1, 1:0.5, and 1:1, to HDL2 and HDL3 remarkably enhanced the antioxidant ability against LDL oxidation up to two-fold higher than HDL alone. HDL-associated paraoxonase activities were elevated up to 28% by the co-addition of apoA-I and CIGB-258, which is linked to the suppression of Cu2+-mediated HDL oxidation with the slowest electromobility. Isothermal denaturation by a urea treatment showed that the co-presence of CIGB-258 attenuated the exposure of intrinsic tryptophan (Trp) and increased the mid-points of denaturation from 2.33 M for apoA-I alone to 2.57 M for an apoA-I:CIGB-258 mixture with a molar ratio of 1:0.5. The addition of CIGB-258 to apoA-I protected the carboxymethyllysine (CML)-facilitated glycation of apoA-I with the prevention of Trp exposure. A co-treatment of apoA-I and CIGB-258 synergistically safeguarded zebrafish embryos from acute death by CML-toxicity, suppressing oxidative stress and apoptosis. In adult zebrafish, the co-treatment of apoA-I+CIGB-258 exerted the highest anti-inflammatory activity with a higher recovery of swimming ability and survivability than apoA-I alone or CIGB-258 alone. A co-injection of apoA-I and CIGB-258 led to the lowest infiltration of neutrophils and interleukin (IL)-6 generation in hepatic tissue, with the lowest serum triglyceride, aspartate transaminase, and alanine transaminase levels in plasma. In conclusion, the co-presence of CIGB-258 ameliorated the beneficial functionalities of apoA-I, such as antioxidant and anti-glycation activities, by enhancing the structural stabilization and protection of apoA-I. Research on ozonated sunflower oil (OSO) is mostly restricted to its topical application, whereas the functional and toxicological assessment of oral OSO consumption is yet to be solved. Herein, OSO was orally supplemented in rats to assess the impact on plasma antioxidant status, low-density lipoproteins (LDL), and high-density lipoproteins (HDL). Also, the functionality of HDL from the OSO-supplemented rats (OSO-HDL) was tested against carboxymethyllysine (CML)- induced hyperinflammation in embryo and adult zebrafish. The results revealed that four weeks of OSO supplementation (3 g/kg BW/day) had no adverse effect on rats' hematological and blood biochemical profiles. Nonetheless, decreased interleukin (IL)-6, and LDL-C levels, along with enhanced ferric ion reduction ability (FRA) and sulfhydryl content, were observed in the plasma of OSO-supplemented rats compared to the control and sunflower oil (SO) supplemented group. In addition, OSO supplementation stabilized apoA-I/HDL and augmented HDL-allied paraoxonase (PON)-1 activity. The microinjection of OSO-HDL (10 nL, 2 mg/mL) efficiently prevented the CML (500 ng)-induced zebrafish embryo mortality and developmental deformities. Similarly, OSO-HDL thwarted CML-posed neurotoxicity and demonstrated a significant hepatoprotective effect against CML-induced fatty liver changes, hepatic inflammation, oxidative stress, and apoptosis, as well as exhibiting a noticeable influence to revert CML-induced dyslipidemia. Metal oxide–carbon nanocomposites offer an interesting platform for electrochemical sensing due to the synergistic effect of a highly active semiconducting surface and conducting carbon as the supporting backbone. In this work, the in situ synthesis of SnO2 with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) led to the formation of small, uniform SnO2 nanoparticles, measuring 10–20 nm in size, whereas the inclusion of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) resulted in the formation of (200) oriented SnO2 nanoplatelets of ∼200 nm. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) demonstrates a chemical interaction between Sn and C rather than physical adherence. The cyclic voltammograms (CVs) of SnO2–rGO and SnO2–MWCNT display high peak current density and small ΔE in comparison to SnO2, signifying fast electron transfer, reversibility, and enhanced electrochemically active sites. Under optimized experimental conditions of square wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV), the nanocomposites demonstrate high sensitivity (3.9, 9.9, 45.5, and 25.4 mA cm–1 ppb–1) and a low detection limit (in ppb) toward Cd2+, Pb2+, Cu2+, and Hg2+, respectively. The high selectivity of SnO2–rGO for Cd2+ and Pb2+ ions and SnO2–MWCNT for Hg2+ and Cu2+ in a complex metal ion environment is encouraging and is probed by using density functional theory (DFT). Glacier inventories serve as critical baseline data for understanding the impacts of climate change on glaciers. The present study maps the outlines of glaciers in the Chandra-Bhaga Basin (western Himalaya) for the years 1993, 2000, 2010, and 2019 using Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM), Enhanced Thematic Mapper (ETM), and Operational Land Imager (OLI) datasets. A total of 251 glaciers, each having an area above 0.5 km2, were identified, which include 216 clean-ice and 35 debris-covered glaciers. Area changes are estimated for three periods: 1993–2000, 2000–2010, and 2010–2019. The total glacierized area was 996 ± 62 km2 in 1993, which decreased to 973 ± 70 km2 in 2019. The mean rate of glacier area loss was higher in the recent decade (2010–2019), at 0.036 km2, compared to previous decades (0.029 km2 in 2000–2010 and 0.025 km2 in 1993–2000). Supraglacial debris cover changes are also mapped over the period of 1993 and 2019. It is found that the supraglacial debris cover increased by 14.12 ± 2.54 km2 (15.2%) during 1993–2019. Extensive field surveys on Chhota Shigri, Panchi II, Patsio, Hamtah, Mulkila, and Yoche Lungpa glaciers were carried out to validate the glacier outlines and supraglacial debris cover estimated using satellite datasets. Controls of various morphological parameters on retreat were also analyzed. Introduction: COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a national lockdown and physical contact was avoided that substantially changed people's lives. The overall impact of lockdown during COVID-19 was negative on the general & mental health of adolescents. During the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a 25% massive increase in the global prevalence of anxiety and depression. Aims & Objectives: To assess anxiety & depression and their association with socio-demographic factors during the COVID-19 pandemic among school-going adolescents. Methodology: Using two simple random sampling, a cross-sectional study was conducted among 690 school-age adolescents (14 to 19 years) in four Nagar Palikas of the district of Dehradun. The questionnaire includes sociodemographic section, GAD-7, PHQ-2, Modified version of CoPaQ and coping strategies. Result: In study it's been found that more than half of the participants were facing symptoms of anxiety and 58.7% of participants had a major depressive disorder likely. 78% participants used phone and internet f/b watching TV (73.8%) and sleeping (68.1%). Conclusion: In order to combat adolescents' mental illness, we advise the creation of support groups at the family and school levels as well as prompt intervention through the revision of current strategies or formulation of new legislation [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present study compares sugarcane-wax purified policosanols sourced from Cuba (Raydel®) and China (BOC Sciences) and utilized following the synthesis of reconstituted high-density lipoproteins (rHDL). The two policosanols exhibited distinctly different ingredient ratios of long-chain aliphatic alcohols, particularly 1-octacosanol (C28) and 1-tetratriacotanol (C34). After synthesizing rHDL with apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I), the two policosanols bound well with phospholipid and apoA-I to form the discoidal rHDL. Notably, rHDL-1, containing Cuban policosanol, displayed the largest particle diameter at approximately 78 ± 3 nm. In contrast, both control rHDL (rHDL-0) and rHDL containing Chinese policosanol (rHDL-2) exhibited smaller particles, with diameters of approximately 58 ± 3 nm and 61 ± 2 nm, respectively. Furthermore, rHDL-1 demonstrated enhanced anti-glycation activity, safeguarding apoA-I from degradation within HDL, and displayed the antioxidant ability to inhibit LDL oxidation. A microinjection of each rHDL into zebrafish embryos in the presence of carboxymethyllysine (CML) revealed rHDL-1 to have the strongest antioxidant activity with the highest embryo survivability and normal developmental morphology. Dermal application to recover the wound revealed rHDL-1 to have the highest wound-healing activity (75%) and survivability (92%) in the cutaneous wound area in the presence of CML. In adult zebrafish, injecting CML (250 μg) caused acute death and hyperinflammation, marked by heightened neutrophil infiltration and interleukin (IL)-6 production in liver. However, co-administering rHDL-1 notably increased survival (85%) and exhibited strong anti-inflammatory properties, reducing IL-6 production while improving the blood lipid profile. However, a co-injection of rHDL-2 resulted in the lowest survivability (47%) with more hepatic inflammation. In conclusion, Cuban policosanol (Raydel®) has more desirable properties for the in vitro synthesis of rHDL with stronger anti-glycation and antioxidant activities than those of Chinese policosanol (BOC Sciences). Moreover, Raydel-policosanol-integrated rHDL demonstrates a noteworthy effect on accelerated wound healing and robust anti-inflammatory properties, leading to increased survivability in zebrafish embryos and adults by effectively suppressing CML-induced hyperinflammation. Heat waves at the regional level could be devastating if they coincide with the sensitive growth stage of the crop. The sensitivity of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) to heat stress is a major constraint limiting wheat production. Nevertheless, there are limited field studies where the impact of heat waves has been systematically studied and quantified. We phenotyped a mini panel of thirty diverse wheat genotypes under optimum and low planting densities. Staggered sowing was done to expose the late-sown genotypes to a higher temperature at the terminal growth stage. Heat wave occurred during March–April, 2022, resulting in late sown genotypes being exposed to a staggering 6.6 °C/4 °C higher day/night temperature during flowering and early grain filling stage, as compared to normal sown genotypes. Heat stress caused significant loss in biomass (34.46%), grains spike−1 (22.34%), test weight (15.52%), and grain yield (28.67%) in late-sown genotypes as compared to normal-sown genotypes. Conversely, genotypes grown under low planting density showed substantial variations in growth parameters including plant height, tillering, thicker leaves, and canopy cover. Interestingly, genotypes with denser canopy and thicker leaves could avoid high day temperature-induced losses by maintaining lower canopy and spike temperatures, which eventually resulted in higher grains spike−1. However, the impact of higher night temperature on biomass and seed weight was not affected by denser canopy and lower spike temperature. Hence, yield loss was majorly confined to high night temperature. The study suggests that higher night temperature could be a major determinant of yield under naturally occurring heat waves. Royal jelly is a honeybee product with substantial pharmacological and health promotional activities. Nevertheless, the health implications associated with the prolonged dietary supplementation of royal jelly have yet to be elucidated extensively. Herein, 72 weeks of dietary supplementation of royal jelly at 5% and 10% (w/w) were investigated to assess the impact on zebrafish survivability, body weight, liver, testis, ovary functionality, and blood lipid profile. The results revealed no adverse effect of 72 weeks of royal jelly supplementation on zebrafish survivability. Conversely, a noteworthy enhancement in the zebrafish body weight was observed in royal-jelly-supplemented zebrafish in a concentration-dependent manner [5% and 10% (w/w)]. Interestingly, female zebrafish were found to be more biased, with a significant 17% (p < 0.001) and 23% (p < 0.001) higher body weight enhancement after 72 weeks of consumption of 5% and 10% (w/w) royal jelly, compared to the male zebrafish. The histological outcome revealed no sign of hepatotoxicity; moreover, diminished reactive oxygen species (ROS) and apoptosis were observed in the hepatic tissue of the royal-jelly-supplemented group. Consistent with the histological outcomes, the liver function biomarkers, aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT), exhibited a significant decrease of 1.9-fold (p = 0.006) and 1.4-fold (p = 0.003) in zebrafish supplemented with royal jelly compared to those on a normal diet (ND) and zebrafish given supplements. Also, no sign of ovary and testis-related toxicity was observed in the royal-jelly-supplemented group during the 72-week period. Furthermore, the 10% (w/w) royal-jelly-consuming zebrafish exhibited a notable 2.1-fold increase (p = 0.018) in egg-laying ability compared to the ND-supplemented zebrafish. The 10% (w/w) royal jelly supplementation also effectively maintained the blood lipid profile by curtailing serum triglycerides (TG) and elevating high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Conclusively, royal jelly dietary supplementation for a prolonged time found royal jelly to be safe to consume, to efficiently improve hepatic function, reproduction, and sexual health, and to augment the serum HDL-C level.
