This research paper primarily focuses on the synchronization of a specific class of multi‐weighted coupled neural networks (MWCNNs) with switching topology, employing two adaptive control methods. In complex environments and under the influence of communication disturbances, the topology structures of coupled neural networks with multiple weights inevitably undergo time‐varying changes. To address this, we propose a novel type of MWCNNs with switching topologies. To ensure synchronization within this network, we develop sufficient conditions based on Lyapunov functional and inequality techniques. These conditions guarantee the achievement of synchronization. Moreover, we address the synchronization problem by employing node‐based and edge‐based adaptive controllers. Finally, we provide a numerical example to demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained results. Objectives: To study the relationship between the ablation range and applied energy of laser ablation (LA) and microwave ablation (MWA) in papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC). Methods: A total of 201 PTMC patients were treated with LA (n = 102) or MWA (n = 99) with single-applicator fixed ablation. The ablation range was determined by contrast-enhanced ultrasound. The ratios of ablation volume, longitudinal diameter, and orthogonal diameter to ablation energy (RAV/E, RAL/E, RAO/E) were analyzed and compared between MWA and LA. The effects of PTMC characteristics and Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) on ablation efficiency were evaluated by linear regression. Results: The RAV/E was 0.72 (0.65–0.84) mm3/J for MWA and 0.48 (0.39–0.54) mm3/J for LA. HT was significantly correlated with RAV/E of LA (coefficient = − 0.367, p < 0.0001). RAL/E did not differ significantly between MWA and LA (MWA 0.026 mm/J, LA 0.025 mm/J; p = 0.957). However, MWA had a greater RAO/E than LA (MWA 0.014 mm/J, LA 0.012 mm/J; p < 0.0001). The plateau values of MWA and LA on the ablation orthogonal diameter were 10.7 mm and 8.69 mm, respectively. Conclusions: MWA showed a higher RAV/E than LA. More intuitively, MWA had a better ablation performance than LA on the orthogonal axis rather than the longitudinal axis. Theoretically, MWA and LA could achieve complete ablation of ≤ 6.70 mm and ≤ 4.69 mm PTMC separately by single-applicator fixed ablation considering a unilateral 2-mm safe margin. HT had a negative effect on LA but not on MWA. Clinical relevance statement: This study establishes strong connections between ablation energy and ablation range in papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC) in vivo, possibly contributing to the supplementation of the PTMC Ablation Consensus or Guidelines and providing a scientific basis for choosing clinical ablation parameters in PTMC. Background: The clinical strategy of oral supplementation of Vitamin D (VD) as a preventive and therapeutic measure for warts needs further exploration. Methods: The clinical data of patients with skin diseases who visited the Children's Hospital affiliated with Chongqing Medical University from February 2018 to June 2024 were collected. The serum VD levels in patients with warts (common warts, flat warts, and plantar warts) and patients with other common skin diseases (atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, alopecia areata, vitiligo, and chronic urticaria) were compared. Two‐sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was performed to investigate potential causal associations between VD and warts. Results: The average serum VD level of children with warts was 23.27 ± 7.07 ng/mL, which showed no statistically significant difference compared to children with other common skin diseases. The inverse variance weighted (IVW) method analysis indicated a positive causal relationship between VD and warts (Odds Ratio [OR] = 1.86, [95% CI: 1.19−2.92], p = 0.007). Sensitivity analysis did not show any indication of horizontal pleiotropy or heterogeneity. The MR‐PRESSO method did not identify any outliers. Conclusion: The levels of serum VD in children with warts do not significantly decrease compared to children with other common skin conditions. The evidence from the MR analysis indicates a positive causal relationship between VD and warts, suggesting caution in supplementing VD for children with warts who have normal or elevated serum VD levels. Purpose: Osteosarcoma is a primary bone tumor lacking optimal clinical treatment options. Tumor-associated macrophages in the tumor microenvironment are closely associated with tumor development and metastasis. Studies have identified the macrophage receptor with collagenous structure (MARCO) as a specific receptor expressed in macrophages. This study aimed to investigate whether anti-MARCO mAb treatment can induce macrophage polarization in the tumor microenvironment and elicit anti-tumor effects. Methods: THP-1 cells were treated with 20 ng/mL phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate and 80 ng/mL interleukin-4 for 48 h to induce macrophage polarization to alternatively activated macrophages (M2). Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction, flow cytometry, and bioinformatic analyses were performed to evaluate macrophage polarization. The co-culture groups included a blank group, an M2 macrophage and U2OS co-culture group, and an anti-MARCO mAb-treated M2 macrophage group. Cell viability assays, cell scratch tests, apoptosis, and cell cycle analyses were performed to determine the effects of anti-MARCO mAb-treated macrophages on osteosarcoma cells. Results: It was demonstrated that anti-MARCO mAb can drive macrophages toward classically activated macrophage (M1) polarization. Anti-MARCO mAb promoted the secretion of pro-inflammatory factors by macrophages, including tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-1beta, interleukin-6 and interleukin-23. Studies on in vitro co-culture models have revealed that macrophages treated with anti-MARCO mAb can suppress the growth and migration of osteosarcoma cells, induce cell apoptosis, and inhibit cell cycle progression of osteosarcoma cells through M1 polarization of macrophages in vitro. Conclusion: Anti-MARCO mAb treatment exerts anti-osteosarcoma effects by affecting macrophage polarization toward M1 macrophages, offering a potential new therapeutic approach for treating osteosarcoma. The Kaladawan iron deposit is located in the North Altyn Tagh and exhibits occurrences of iron ore bodies at the contact zone between Ordovician magmatic rocks (basalts, rhyolite, and granodiorite) and marble. However, controversy persists regarding the genetic classification and metallogenic mechanism of this deposit. Through a field investigation, single mineral in situ geochemical analysis, whole-rock geochemical analysis, and Fe isotope determination, the following conclusions are made: (1) Ti-(Ni/Cr) and (V/Ti)-Fe diagrams indicate that the magnetite from all studied rocks underwent hydrothermal metasomatism, while (Ni/(Cr + Mn))-(Ti + V) and (Ca + Al + Mn)-(Ti + V) diagrams suggest a skarn origin for these magnetites. Therefore, it can be inferred that the Kaladawan iron deposit is skarn-type. (2) The iron ore exhibits similar rare-earth-element characteristics to the altered basalt. Additionally, the altered basalts (δ56Fe = 0.024~0.100‰) are more enriched in light Fe isotopes than the unaltered basalts (δ56Fe = 0.129~0.197‰) at the same location, indicating that the ore-forming materials of the Kaladawan iron ore are mainly derived from basaltic rocks. (3) According to the law of mass conservation and the intermediate Fe isotopic composition of the iron ore between the granodiorite and basalt, the hydrothermal fluid for the formation of iron ores was inferred to be derived from the late intrusive granodiorite. Objectives: This study aimed to explore the interactions between microbubbles and microwave ablation (MWA). Methods: The study employed custom‐made phantoms (in vitro) and white New Zealand rabbits (in vivo). MWA was performed with or without microbubbles in the phantoms (2 × 105 particles mL−1) and rabbit livers (intravenous injection of 0.05 mL/kg SonoVue). During the MWA, K‐type thermocouple probes were used to monitor the MWA‐induced temperature increase. Contrast‐enhanced ultrasound imaging (CEUS) was used to monitor and analyze the microbubbles signal intensity. After MWA, the ablation‐zone volumes were evaluated and compared between the groups with and without microbubbles. Results: In both the phantom models and rabbits, microbubbles showed no significant influence on MWA, including the ablation range and MWA‐induced temperature increase. In phantoms and rabbit livers filled with microbubbles, MWA caused the formation of a gradually expanding microbubble‐defect region over the ablation time. An increase in the temperature caused microbubble destruction. Conclusions: Microbubbles had no significant influence on MWA. However, MWA induced the destruction of microbubbles in a temperature‐dependent manner. Thus, the poor thermotolerance of microbubbles is a non‐negligible barrier when using CEUS to monitor the ablation range during MWA in real‐time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Vasculogenic mimicry (VM), when microvascular channels are formed by cancer cells independent of endothelial cells, often occurs in deep hypoxic areas of tumors and contributes to the aggressiveness and metastasis of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cells. However, well-developed VM inhibitors exhibit inadequate efficacy due to their low drug utilization rate and limited deep penetration. Thus, a cost-effective VM inhibition strategy needs to be designed for TNBC treatment. Results: Herein, we designed a low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) and matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) dual-responsive nanoplatform termed PFP@PDM-PEG for the cost-effective and efficient utilization of the drug disulfiram (DSF) as a VM inhibitor. The PFP@PDM-PEG nanodroplets effectively penetrated tumors and exhibited substantial accumulation facilitated by PEG deshielding in a LIFU-mediated and MMP-2-sensitive manner. Furthermore, upon exposure to LIFU irradiation, DSF was released controllably under ultrasound imaging guidance. This secure and controllable dual-response DSF delivery platform reduced VM formation by inhibiting COL1/pro-MMP-2 activity, thereby significantly inhibiting tumor progression and metastasis. Conclusions: Considering the safety of the raw materials, controlled treatment process, and reliable repurposing of DSF, this dual-responsive nanoplatform represents a novel and effective VM-based therapeutic strategy for TNBC in clinical settings. Reproductive failure in cotton caused by drought has been reported to be closely associated with alterations in pistil fertility; however, the mechanism of the effect of drought on pistil fertility in cotton is less studied. We hypothesized that drought would inhibit the ovule formation to alter pistil potential fertility. To address this hypothesis, we conducted a water deficit induction experiment with a cotton cultivar, Dexiamian 1. Results showed that drought damaged the cytological structure of the developing ovules. This resulted in a lower ovule number, finally leading to lower cottonseed number and boll weight. And the decreased ovule number was closely related to the reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation in pistil during ovule development. Further analysis of antioxidant metabolism found that in the enzymatic antioxidant system, drought decreased the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT), resulting in the accumulation of superoxide anion (O2•−$$ {{\mathrm{O}}_2}^{\bullet -} $$) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Regarding the non‐enzymatic antioxidant system, the elevated glutathione reductase gene (GhGR) expression under drought promoted the glutathione (GSH) accumulation; however, the decreased dehydroascorbate reductase gene (GhDHAR2) expression under drought inhibited the conversion of GSH to ascorbic acid (AsA). Although the increased monodehydroascorbate reductase gene (GhMDHAR) expression under drought promoted AsA accumulation, drought‐induced reduced ascorbate peroxidase gene (GhAPX) expression inhibited the reduction of H2O2 by AsA, which ultimately led to higher AsA content and H2O2 content. We conclude that drought impedes the ovule formation by disturbing pistil's antioxidant metabolic homeostasis to destruct the cytological structure of the developing ovules. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Ferroptosis is a necrotic form of iron‐dependent regulatory cell death. Estrogen withdrawal can interfere with iron metabolism, which is responsible for the pathogenesis of postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMOP). Here, it is demonstrated that estrogen withdrawal induces iron accumulation in the skeleton and the ferroptosis of osteocytes, leading to reduced bone mineral density. Furthermore, the facilitatory effect of ferroptosis of osteocytes is verified in the occurrence and development of postmenopausal osteoporosis is associated with over activated osteoclastogenesis using a direct osteocyte/osteoclast coculture system and glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) knockout ovariectomized mice. In addition, the nuclear factor erythroid derived 2‐related factor‐2 (Nrf2) signaling pathway is confirmed to be a crucial factor in the ferroptosis of osteocytic cells. Nrf2 regulates the expression of nuclear factor kappa‐B ligand (RANKL) by regulating the DNA methylation level of the RANKL promoter mediated by DNA methyltransferase 3a (Dnmt3a), which is as an important mechanism in osteocytic ferroptosis‐mediated osteoclastogenesis. The Ilizarov technique has been continuously innovated to utilize tensile stress (TS) for inducing a bone development‐like regenerative process, aiming to achieve skeletal elongation and reconstruction. However, it remains uncertain whether this distraction osteogenesis (DO) process induced by TS involves the pivotal coupling of angiogenesis and osteogenesis mediated by type H endothelial cells (THECs). In this study, it is demonstrated that the Ilizarov technique induces the formation of a metaphysis‐like architecture composed of THECs, leading to segmental bone regeneration during the DO process. Mechanistically, cell‐matrix interactions‐mediated activation of yes‐associated protein (YAP)/transcriptional co‐activator with PDZ‐binding motif (TAZ) transcriptionally upregulates the expression of Notch1 and Delta‐like ligand 4, which act as direct positive regulators of THECs phenotype, in bone marrow endothelial cells (BMECs) upon TS stimulation. Simultaneously, the Notch intracellular domain enhances YAP/TAZ activity by transcriptionally upregulating YAP expression and stabilizing TAZ protein, thus establishing the YAP/TAZ‐Notch circuit. Additionally, TS‐stimulated BMECs secrete exosomes enriched with vital molecules in this positive feedback pathway, which can be utilized to promote segmental bone defect healing, mimicking the therapeutic effects of Ilizarov technique. The findings advance the understanding of TS‐induced segmental bone regeneration and establish the foundation for innovative biological therapeutic strategies aimed at activating THECs. A model coupling the lattice Boltzmann and the phase field methods with anisotropic effects is proposed, which is used to numerically describe the growth and movement of dendrites in rapid solidification of alloys. The model is quantitatively validated by the simulation of the continuous growth and the drafting-kissing-tumbling phenomenon of two falling particles, and then applied to investigate the effects of dendrite movement and interfacial non-equilibrium on evolution of dendritic patterns for Si-9.0at%As and the CET for Al-3.0wt%Cu alloys. Both the growth and remelt processes of isolated dendrites are studied, and the result reveals the remelting influences on dendrite growth and solute micro-segregation in the condition of directional solidification. This work demonstrates that the proposed model has a wide range of applicability and great potential to simulate the microstructure evolution with various solidification conditions. In this paper, we consider the graph signals are sparse in the graph Fourier domain and propose an iterative threshold compressed sensing reconstruction (ITCSR) algorithm to reconstruct sparse graph signals in the graph Fourier domain. The proposed ITCSR algorithm derives from the well-known compressed sensing by considering a threshold for sparsity-promoting reconstruction of the underlying graph signals. The proposed ITCSR algorithm enhances the performance of sparse graph signal reconstruction by introducing a threshold function to determine a suitable threshold. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the suitable parameters for the threshold can be automatically determined by leveraging the sparrow search algorithm. Moreover, we analytically prove the convergence property of the proposed ITCSR algorithm. In the experimental, numerical tests with synthetic as well as 3D point cloud data demonstrate the merits of the proposed ITCSR algorithm relative to the baseline algorithms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Gneisses with anatectic characteristics from the Liansan island in the Sulu UHPM (ultra‐high pressure metamorphic) belt were studied for petrography, titanite U‐Pb dating and mineral geochemistry. Three origins of garnets are distinguished: metamorphic garnet, peritectic garnet and anatectic garnet, which are formed in the stages of peak metamorphism, retrograde anatexis and melt crystallization, respectively. The euhedral titanite has a high content of REE and high Th/U ratios, which is interpreted as indicating that it was newly‐formed from an anatectic melt. The LA‐ICP‐MS titanite U‐Pb dating yields 214–217 Ma ages for the titanite (melt) crystallization. The distribution of trace elements varies in response to the different host minerals at different stages. At the peak metamorphic stage, Y and HREE are mainly hosted by garnet, Ba and Rb by phengite, Sr, Nb, Ta, Pb, Th, U and LREE by allanite and Y, U and HREE by zircon. During partial melting, Y, Pb, Th, U and REE are released into the melt, which causes a dramatic decline of these element contents in the retrograde minerals. Finally, titanite absorbs most of the Nb, U, LREE and HREE from the melt. Therefore, the different stages of metamorphism have different mineral assemblages, which host different trace elements. Whether environmental responsibility can promote corporate performance has always been a focus of debate in theory and practice. We address the dispute regarding the effect of environmental responsibility by focusing on small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs) in China. Furthermore, based on team faultline theory, we argue that top management team (TMT) faultlines and bankruptcy threat combine to affect the relationship between environmental responsibility and long‐term performance in SMEs. Using data from 410 Chinese companies listed on the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) during 2011–2020, we find that SMEs that engage in more environmental responsibility tend to have worse long‐term performance. Additionally, this relationship varies depending on the conditions of TMT composition (i.e., faultlines) and situation (i.e., bankruptcy threat). Specifically, when the bankruptcy threat is high, TMT faultlines negatively affect the relationship between environmental responsibility and long‐term firm performance. However, TMT faultlines positively affect this relationship when the bankruptcy threat is low. This paper sheds new light on corporate environmental responsibility by adopting a theoretical perspective of TMT faultlines and identifying the specific situations in which TMT faultlines act. To address the time-optimal trajectory planning (TOTP) problem with joint jerk constraints in a Cartesian coordinate system, we propose a time-optimal path-parameterization (TOPP) algorithm based on nonlinear optimization. The key insight of our approach is the presentation of a comprehensive and effective iterative optimization framework for solving the optimal control problem (OCP) formulation of the TOTP problem in the (s , s ˙) -phase plane. In particular, we identify two major difficulties: establishing TOPP in Cartesian space satisfying third-order constraints in joint space, and finding an efficient computational solution to TOPP, which includes nonlinear constraints. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is an effective solution for time-optimal trajectory planning with joint jerk limits, and can be applied to a wide range of robotic systems. Alkaline pectate lyases have biotechnological applications in plant fiber processing, such as ramie degumming. Previously, we characterized an alkaline pectate lyase from Bacillus clausii S10, named BacPelA, which showed potential for enzymatic ramie degumming because of its high cleavage activity toward methylated pectins in alkaline conditions. However, BacPelA displayed poor thermo-alkaline stability. Here, we report the 1.78 Å resolution crystal structure of BacPelA in apo form. The enzyme has the characteristic right-handed β-helix fold of members of the polysaccharide lyase 1 family and shows overall structural similarity to them, but it displays some differences in the details of the secondary structure and Ca2+-binding site. On the basis of the structure, 10 sites located in flexible regions and showing high B-factor and positive ΔTm values were selected for mutation, aiming to improve the thermo-alkaline stability of the enzyme. Following site-directed saturation mutagenesis and screening, mutants A238C, R150G, and R216H showed an increase in the T5015 value at pH 10.0 of 3.0 °C, 6.5 °C, and 7.0 °C, respectively, compared with the wild-type enzyme, interestingly accompanied by a 24.5%, 46.6%, and 61.9% increase in activity. The combined mutant R150G/R216H/A238C showed an 8.5 °C increase in the T5015 value at pH 10.0, and an 86.1% increase in the specific activity at 60 °C, with approximately doubled catalytic efficiency, compared with the wild-type enzyme. Moreover, this mutant retained 86.2% activity after incubation in ramie degumming conditions (4 h, 60 °C, pH 10.0), compared with only 3.4% for wild-type BacPelA. The combined mutant increased the weight loss of ramie fibers in degumming by 30.2% compared with wild-type BacPelA. This work provides a thermo-alkaline stable, highly active pectate lyase with great potential for application in the textile industry, and also illustrates an effective strategy for rational design and improvement of pectate lyases. Objective: The outcome of congenital clubfoot treatment is still challenging if the feet deformities are not completely corrected. Here we explore a minimal invasive procedure with an eight‐plate implant to correct the residual forefoot adduction deformity after treatment of neglected or relapsed clubfoot. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients with residual forefoot adduction deformity after clubfoot treatment between January 2013 and June 2016. The patients underwent temporary epiphysiodesis of the lateral column of the mid‐foot, which in detail, an eight‐plate was placed on each side of the calcaneocuboid joint. The foot deformities were recorded according to the weight‐bearing radiographic measurements including talo‐first metatarsal angle, calcaneo‐fifth metatarsal angle and medial‐to‐lateral column length. Results: A total of 13 patients (20 feet) with an average age of 7.8 years old were located with an average duration of 40.8 months follow‐up (range, 28 to 54 months). The average talo‐first metatarsal angle improved from 28.3° (range, 19° to 47°) preoperatively to 8.3° (range, 3° to 18°) and the calcaneo‐fifth metatarsal angle improved from 29.1° (range, 19° to 40°) preoperatively to 8.4° (range, 0° to 21°) at final follow‐up. The mean ratio of the medial‐to‐lateral column length improved from 1.14 ± 0.06 to 1.55 ± 0.09 with statistical significance (t = 3.566; P < 0.001). Conclusions: Eight‐plate epiphysiodesis is an easy and effective method for the correction of residual forefoot adduction deformity after clubfoot treatment in growing children without the need of osteotomy. Two types of retrograded eclogite (phengite‐bearing eclogite and garnet pyroxenite) within eclogite‐facies granitic gneisses are reported for the first time from the Younusisayi area of the South Altyn high to ultrahigh pressure (HP–UHP) metamorphic belt. These eclogites were studied using petrology, mineral chemistry, phase equilibrium modelling, and geochronology. The phengite‐bearing eclogite records five stages of metamorphism: (1) early prograde (Grt + Cpx + Amp + Rt + Qz) at conditions of P = 11.50–17.5 kbar, T = 665–740°C; (2) peak eclogite‐facies (Grt + Omp + Ph + Rt + Qz) at conditions of P > 24.2 kbar, T = 710–1000°C; (3) overprinting during retrograde transition to HP granulite‐facies conditions (Grt + Cpx ± Kfs + Pl + Rt + Qz) at P = 12.1–16.9 kbar and T = 760–890°C; (4) retrogression at granulite‐facies conditions (Grt + Cpx + Amp + Pl + Ilm + Qz) of P = 9.1–11.4 kbar, T = 730–840°C; and (5) amphibolite‐facies metamorphism (Amp + Pl + Ilm + Qz) during cooling and decompression. The garnet pyroxenite records four stages of metamorphism: (1) eclogite‐facies at conditions of P > 23.2 kbar, T = 775–965°C; (2) HP granulite‐facies conditions of P = 13.2–17.8 kbar and T = 836–912°C; (3) granulite‐facies conditions of P = 8.6–9.7 kbar, T = 739–783°C; and (4) amphibolite‐facies metamorphism. Zircon U–Pb dating and trace element analysis constrain eclogite‐facies metamorphism to c. 500 Ma, consistent with the age of the surrounding eclogite‐facies granitic gneiss (497.8 ± 2.7 Ma). Retrograde metamorphism ages of c. 460 Ma are interpreted as recording zircon growth after granulite‐facies metamorphism. The P–T–t path defines the integrated process of deep subduction and multistage exhumation and places constraints on the early Palaeozoic geodynamics of the South Altyn belt. Well‐preserved major and trace element zoning of garnets in the Ph‐bearing eclogites lacks evidence of significant thermal diffusion and may record garnet growth during deep subduction, immediately followed by very rapid exhumation. Over the past decade, cancer immunotherapy, such as immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICRs), has attained considerable progresses in clinical practice. T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain-containing protein 3 (Tim-3) act as next ICRs, and originally function as a co-inhibitory receptor expressed on interferon (IFN)- γ producing CD4 + and CD8 + T-cells. Furthermore, Tim-3 has also been found to express on innate immune cells and several types of tumors, signifying the pivotal role that Tim-3 plays in chronic viral infections and cancer. In addition, Tim-3 and multiple ICRs are concurrently expressed and regulated on dysfunctional or exhausted T-cells, leading to improved antitumor immune responses in preclinical or clinical cancer therapy through co-blockade of Tim-3 and other ICRs such as programmed cell death-1 (PD-1). In this review, the biological characteristics of Tim-3 and the function of Tim-3 in regulating tumorigenesis and inflammation have been summarized. To study the efficacy and safety of fractional 2940 nm laser-assisted drug delivery of timolol maleate 0.5% solution for the treatment of deep IHs. In this study, 30 deep IHs were included, and a fractional 2940 nm laser was applied with 2-weeks intervals. Topical timolol maleate 0.5% was applied under occlusion for 30 min four times/day for 24 weeks. The plasma concentration of timolol maleate was monitored for 0.5 h after the first treatment. The HAS scores and the depth, lateral diameter, vertical diameter of hemangiomas were evaluated before treatment, at 8 weeks and 24 weeks of treatment, and at 4 weeks after treatment. Twenty-three patients (76.7%) demonstrated excellent regression, 4(13.3%) showed good response, and 3(10%) experienced moderate regression. The HAS score was declined from 3.6 ± 0.7 to 2.3 ± 0.6 at 8 weeks, and from 1.3 ± 0.5 to 0.8 ± 0.5 at 24 weeks (p <.05). Plasma timolol concentration was not detected in 11 infants, and the rest ranged from 1.580 pg/mL to 14.718 pg/mL, which were <1 ng/mL. No systemic complications were observed in any patients. A ring-width series was developed from Dahurian larch (Larix gmelinii) in the northeastern forest area of Inner Mongolia, China. By analyzing the relationships between tree-ring data and climate records, an August–September mean maximum temperature (T89) series during 1845 and 2012 was reconstructed based on a simple linear regression equation. This reconstructed series explained 40.9% variance of the observed temperature from 1959 to 2012. The reconstructed T89 series was consistent with the historical disaster events caused by extreme climate (e.g., flood, frost disaster, and cold damage). Besides, the temperature comparisons showed that the year in which the warm months (April–September) in northeast China began to warm up has latitude differences. It started with a gradual delay from north to south, starting 1980 in the south region, after 1950 AD in the central region and after 1940 in the north region. Background and aims: The plant growth promoting rhizobacteria have been extensively implicated in plant responses to changing environments. However, the action mechanisms still need to be elucidated. This study addressed the effect of Paraburkholderia sp. GD17 on rice seedlings in responses to salt stress. Methods: The experiment consisted of GD17-inoculated and non-inoculated plants, with or without NaCl treatment. Physiological and biochemical parameters, and gene expression were analyzed. Results: GD17 efficiently colonized inside roots, and provided a protection against salt stress. Following exposure to 68 mM of NaCl for 48 h, although the accumulation of Na+ was not affected in GD17-inoculated (+ GD17) roots relative to non-inoculated ones, its concentration was substantially reduced in + GD17 shoots. The contents of K and other mineral elements were higher in + GD17 plants. The expression of Na+ and K+ transporter-encoding genes generally presented a higher level in + GD17 plants. The antioxidative defense especially related to the removal of H2O2 was more strongly activated in + GD17 plants. Correspondingly, salt-induced oxidative damage was significantly ameliorated. A substantial increase in proline content and gene expression was observed in + GD17 plants. Additionally, the cell wall invertase-encoding gene displayed a dramatically higher expression level in + GD17 plants. Conclusions: GD17 efficiently improved rice seedling tolerance to salt stress. The possible mechanisms might be associated with the absorption and redistribution of mineral elements, the vacuolar sequestration of Na+ as well as exclusion of Na+, antioxidative defense, the production of proline, and the sucrose catabolism in apoplast. In this article, we propose a memristor-based ShuffleNetV2 for image classification. Because of the low power consumption and high integration, this circuit is suitable for edge computing. The memristor-based ShuffleNetV2 is divided into four kinds of units, and each unit is composed by a series of basic memristive neural circuits, such as memristive convolutional neural networks (MCNNs), memristive batch normalization (MBN) layers, memristive fully connection (MFC) layers, rectified linear unit (ReLU) layers, max-pooling layers, etc. To solve the imbalance of required memristor crossbars in MCNN and the huge power consumption of the input voltage inverting, the inverters are shifted behind the memristor crossbar.This circuit uses (M+1) × 2 memristor crossbars instead of the original (2M+1) × 1 memristor crossbars. The world lines of memristor crossbars required can be reduced from (2M+1) to (M+1). The number of inverters in MCNN for a kernel can be decreased to one, and the power consumption in MCNN is greatly decreased. The MBN is designed by combining operational amplifiers with memristors. An output limiter circuit is added behind the ReLU layer implemented by diode. The output voltage of the ReLU layer is limited to the threshold voltage Vp of memristor. The memristive ShuffleNetV2 is established for image classification in experiments. The effectiveness of the circuit is verified on the FER2013 dataset along with the analysis of the memristor resources, calculation periods, and circuit power consumption of the network. The experimental results show that this that the inference time of this memristive ShuffleNetV2 could be as less as 137 ns with a max power consumption 2.8 μW of a memristive neurons. This article presents a new convolution algorithm: convolution kernel first operated (CKFO), which can solve the problem that the actual calculation is not reduced after pruning the weight of the convolution neural network. According to the convolution algorithm, this article proposes a simulated memristor implementation of a convolutional neural network (CNN). After that, we use the method of ex-situ training to train CNN in Tensorflow and then download the trained parameters to the Simulink system by compiling the conductance value of memristor to test the proposed simulation model. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed model is verified. In addition, we prune the weights of CNN and retrain it, then adjust the simulation model according to the parameters after being pruned. We are surprised to find that the convolution layer designed according to the new convolution algorithm can apply the results of the pruned weight without any modification to the circuit, which is very cumbersome in other memristor-based CNN because the distribution of the pruned weight is irregular. The parameters are reduced by 75.24% and the number of multiplication operations in the convolution layer was reduced by 30.1%, while the accuracy is just reduced by 0.06%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents a novel method to make denim-fabric-polishing robots perform their primary task flexibly and efficiently within a limited workspace. Link lengths are optimized based on an adaptive fireworks algorithm to improve the comprehensive dexterity index. A forward kinematics analysis of the denim-fabric-polishing robot is conducted via the D–H method; the workspace is analyzed according to the needs at hand to determine the range of motion of each joint. To solve the movement condition number of the Jacobian matrix, the concept of low-condition-number probability is established, and a comprehensive dexterity indicator is constructed. The influence of the robot's size on the condition number and comprehensive dexterity index is determined. Finally, the adaptive fireworks algorithm is used to establish the objective optimization function by integrating the dexterity index and other performance indicators. The optimization results show that when the comprehensive dexterity index is taken as the optimization objective, the dexterity comprehensive index and other performance indices of the robot are the lowest; that is, the robot is more flexible. Compared with the traditional genetic algorithm and particle swarm algorithm, the adaptive fireworks algorithm proposed in this paper has better solving speed and solving precision. This pape investigates the global stabilization of memristive neural networks (MNNs) with leakage and time-varying delays via quantized sliding-mode controller. The leakage delay is considered in the MNNs. Sliding mode controller is imported to ensure global stabilization of delayed MNNs. We also introduce two quantization schemes with uniform quantizer and logarithmic quantizer. Our goal is to deal with errors before and after quantization. This paper studies the exponential anti-synchronization problem of memristive delayed neural networks under the event-triggered controller. To reduce the recalculation of the control signals, two event-triggered control strategies including static and dynamic are proposed. A novel Lyapunov function is constructed to analyze the global exponential anti-synchronization problem. By analysis, we can choose the suitable parameter of the controller to realize global exponential anti-synchronization with a given convergence rate γ without wasting a lot of control resources. Moreover, under event-triggering conditions given in our theorem, we derive that the Zeno behavior will not happen. Finally, numerical examples are given to validate our theorem. We conjugated aldehyde‐BODIPY with the water‐soluble iodopropionic‐acid‐hemicyanine to develop a new dual‐color fluorescence probe (BHC) for selective and sensitive monitoring of endogenous SO2 for the first time. Through excellent water solubility and the unique nucleophilic addition reaction, BHC has a higher selectivity for the colorimetric monitoring of SO2 than other related substances. The resulting probe BHC has red emission, and can be converted to green emission after reacting with SO2. Then the dual‐color fluorescence probe was further applied to image intracellular endogenous generated SO32−/HSO3− by the metabolism of living cells with satisfactory results. To investigate the antitumor efficacy of microwave ablation combined with dendritic cell-derived exosomes (Dex) or dendritic cells (DC) in treating hepatocellular carcinoma using a tumor-bearing mouse model. We used a bilateral tumor-bearing mouse model treated with MWA, MWA + DC (DC-combined group) or MWA + Dex (Dex-combined group). Following tumor ablation on one side, the tumor volume on the contralateral side was monitored. The proportions of CD8+ (cytotoxic) T cells and regulatory T (Treg) cells in the spleen were analyzed by flow cytometry, and the number of CD8+ T cells and Treg cells in tumor sites was detected by immunohistochemistry. The concentration of interleukin-10 and interferon-γ in plasma was identified using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The combination therapy significantly inhibited tumor growth compared with MWA monotherapy. In addition, the tumor immune microenvironment was significantly improved in HCC mice in the combination therapy groups compared to MWA group demonstrated by an increased number of CD8+ T cells and a decreased number of Treg cells in tumor sites. A lower proportion of Treg cells were observed in the spleen in the combination therapy groups compared to MWA group. Moreover, the concentration of plasma IFN-γ increased, and the concentration of plasma IL-10 decreased in the combination therapy groups compared to the MWA group. However, there was no statistical difference between the Dex-combined group and the DC-combined group in the comparisons mentioned above. Our results provide evidence that MWA combined with Dex can significantly inhibit tumor growth and improve the immune microenvironment compared to MWA alone. Retrograde eclogite and garnet amphibolite of the Lüliangshan unit of the Shenglikou area, North Qaidam, were studied with emphasis on rutile and titanite. A special focus is on the formation of rutile and its corona of titanite (Ttn1) in retrograde eclogite and on coarse-grained titanite (Ttn2) from the garnet amphibolite. Using zirconium (Zr)-in-rutile and Zr-in-titanite thermometers, the temperatures estimated for the formation of an early generation of rutile are 823–884 °C at 2.5–2.8 GPa, while 812–894 °C at 1.3–1.5 GPa are derived for the formation of coronitic Ttn1 in the retrograde eclogite. Therefore, isothermal decompression must have occurred during exhumation, which also has triggered the partial melting of the retrograde eclogite. Ttn2 of the garnet amphibolite has high REE contents and high Th/U ratios, indicating that it is newly grown from a Ti, Ca, and LREE enriched anatectic melt derived from the partial melting of retrograde eclogite. LA-ICP MS U-Pb dating yields a lower intercept age of 423±4 Ma for Ttn2, which is consistent with the granulite-facies metamorphic age of the retrograde eclogite. Moreover, a temperature of 781–823 °C at 1.0–1.2 GPa is obtained for Ttn2, which fits the P-T conditions of the HP granulite-facies metamorphic stage (P=1.07–1.24 GPa and T=774–814 °C), and documents that the crystallization of the melt occurred at the granulite-facies stage at 423 Ma. The high amount of REE of the garnet amphibolite is a consequence of the formation of Ttn2 from the melt. The contents and ratios of Zr and Hf in rutile and Ttn2 differ from those in the garnet amphibolite, and the whole rock Zr/Hf ratios of retrograde eclogite and garnet amphibolite are both higher than the respective ratios in rutile and Ttn2, suggesting that rutile and titanite cannot be the major carriers of Zr and Hf accounting for the high whole rock Zr/Hf ratios. The kyanite-bearing garnet pelitic gneiss from the Jianggalesayi area in southern Altyn Tagh high pressure/ultra-high pressure belt was proved to have been experienced UHP metamorphism (>12 GPa) by the discovery of kyanite and spinel exsolution microstructure in quartz (precursor stishovite). In this study, three stages of retrograded metamorphism (M2–M4) after the UHP metamorphism (M1) were identified for the UHP pelitic gneiss. The HP granulite-facies stage (M2) was characterized by the mineral assemblage of garnet+kyanite+K-feldspar+rutile+quartz±ilmenite, recording the P-T condition of >1.12 GPa and ≈850–930 ºC. The granulite-facies stage (M3) was represented by the mineral assemblage of garnet rim+K-feldspar+sillimanite (Sill1)+biotite (Bt1)+plagioclase (Pl1)+ilmenite+quartz, and confined under P-T conditions of 0.5–0.8 GPa and ≈770–795 ºC. The late cooling stage M4 was accompanied by the appearance of fine-grained Pl2, Sill2 and Bt2 in the matrix, and the P-T conditions were 0.4–0.6 GPa and <675 ºC. A clockwised P-T path was obtained for the pelitic gneiss in the P-T pseudosection, which showed a deep subduction/collision processes with subsequent exhumation and cooling. Combined with the corresponding multistage metamorphic assemblages, the age dating results implied that the zircons from the gneiss have integrated the recording peak metamorphic (M1, 484±3 Ma) and retrograded metamorphic ages (M2 to M3, 450±2 Ma). There was about 32 Ma interval during the first exhumation from the upper mantle depth (>350 km) to the lower crust depth (≈40–20 km), resulting in an average exhumation rate of 9.11–9.70 mm/yr. In the southern Altyn Tagh region, the HP and UHP rocks from different areas had identical peak metamorphic ages. Therefore, contemporary UHP and HP rocks with different metamorphic evolutions were recognized coexisting in the same orogenic belt, which can be interpreted by the model of subduction channel. The continental crustal were subducted to different depths along the direction of the subduction channels at ≈500 Ma, suffered different grade metamorphism, and then returned to the surface along the subduction channel. A ratiometric and sensitive microfluidic chip based aptasensor was developed for antibiotic detection with kanamycin (Kana) as a model analyte. A novel stir bar assisted sorptive extraction and rolling circle amplification strategy was designed to largely amplify the signal and overcome complex matrix interference in food samples. The detection mechanism was as follows: firstly, many duplex DNA probes (a single-stranded DNA as a primer hybrid with an aptamer sequence) were modified on a stir bar. In the presence of Kana, the probes on the bar could specifically capture Kana and release the primer to trigger RCA in the presence of a circular DNA template (CDT). As the reaction proceeds, the amount of CDT decreased and the number of RCA products increased. It is worth mentioning that they can be efficiently separated and detected using a microfluidic chip. The signal ratio of RCA products and CDT (IR/IC) can be employed to qualify Kana in a wide linear range from 0.8 pg mL−1 to 10 ng mL−1 with a low detection limit of 0.3 pg mL−1. This method exhibited excellent sensitivity and selectivity and can obviously reduce the matrix interference through a ratiometric strategy combined with stir bar extraction. 1-Hydroxypyrene (1-HP) is a urinary metabolite of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and can function as a convenient biomarker for human intoxication of PAH carcinogens. The development of simple 1-HP sensors with high sensitivity and fast response is highly desirable. Herein, we demonstrate that a robust microcrystalline MOF with fluorescent pyrene cores, NU-1000, exhibits sensitive luminescence detection of urinary 1-HP. The pyrene core within NU-1000 behaves as the signal converter, whose luminescence is significantly quenched upon coming into contact with 1-HP owing to the efficient π–π charge transfer interactions between highly conjugated 1-HP and pyrene cores in NU-1000. The pore confinement effect of the molecular-sized channel of NU-1000 facilitates the preconcentration of 1-HP within NU-1000, which makes 1-HP contact with NU-1000 more sufficient therefore enhancing the detection efficiency. The charge transfer-related quenching mechanism is elucidated by diffuse-reflectance UV-vis and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements, and a radical pair state is observed in NU-1000 upon accommodation of 1-HP. This work provides important insights into the development of MOF-based luminescent sensors for 1-HP, and should stimulate further studies toward designing more efficient MOFs with highly conjugated luminescent cores for 1-HP sensing. Recently, it has been crucial to be able to detect and quantify small molecular targets simultaneously in biological samples. Herein, a simple and conventional double-T type microchip electrophoresis (MCE) based platform for the multiplex detection of quality indicator molecule targets in urine, using ampicillin (AMPI), adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and estradiol (E2) as models, was developed. Several programmable hairpin probes (PHPs) were designed for detecting different targets and triggering isothermal polymerase-catalyzed target recycling (IPCTR) for signal amplification. Based on the target-responsive aptamer structure of PHP (Domain I), target recognition can induce PHP conformational transition and produce extension duplex DNA (dsDNA), assisted by primers & Bst polymerase. Afterwards, the target can be displaced to react with another PHP and initiate the next cycle. After several rounds of reaction, the dsDNA can be produced in large amounts by IPCTR. Three targets can be simultaneously converted to dsDNA fragments with different lengths, which can be separated and detected using MCE. Thus, a simple double-T type MCE based platform was successfully built for the homogeneous detection of multiplex targets in one channel. Under optimal conditions, the assay exhibited high throughput (48 samples per hour at most, not including reaction time) and sensitivity to three targets in urine with a detection limit of 1 nM (ATP), 0.05 nM (AMPI) and 0.1 nM (E2) respectively. The multiplex assay was successfully employed for the above three targets in several urine samples and combined the advantages of the high specificity of programmable hairpin probes, the excellent signal amplification of IPCTR, and the high through-put of MCE which can be employed for screening in biochemical analysis. The late cornified envelope (LCE) gene cluster is located on chromosome 1q21, including LCE1-LCE6. Several single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the LCE cluster were associated with susceptibility to psoriasis in Chinese population. However, there is no report on the relationship in ethnic minority areas in China. This study aimed to investigate the association between the gene polymorphisms of LCE1B, LCE1C, LCE3A, LCE3D and psoriasis vulgaris among Mongolians from Inner Mongolia. Totally, 305 Mongolians with psoriasis vulgaris (PsV) and 383 healthy controls were enrolled in the study from 2006 to 2015. 7 SNPs including rs6701216, rs4112788, rs12023196, rs512208, rs4845454, rs4085613 and rs1886734, were selected for genotyping with ligase detection reaction (LDR). Statistical analysis was performed for comparisons of allele frequencies and genotype frequencies between the patient group and the control group. In this study, excluding rs4085613 and rs1886734, differences were detected in the allele frequencies of other 5 SNPs between the patients and controls. Genotype analysis showed that under the recessive inheritance model, the genotype frequencies of rs4845454, rs4112788 differed between the patients and controls (all p < 0.00 5).Under the dominant and the recessive model, the genotype frequencies of rs6701216, rs12023196 and rs512208 significantly differed between the patients and controls. The LD analysis showed that strong LD existed between rs6701216 and rs12023196, rs4845454 and rs4085613, rs4845454 and rs1886734, and rs4085613 and rs1886734. Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method and free weighting matrix technique, delay-dependent criteria for the global exponential lag synchronization of switched neural networks are derived in form of linear matrix inequalities. The authors describe an ultrasonic-assisted headspace method for solid phase micro-extraction (UA-HS-SPME) of 7 polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) with codes PCB28, PCB52, PCB101, PCB118, PCB138, PCB153 and PCB180. The coating is based on a poly-dopamine metal-organic framework [PDA-MIL-53(Fe)] on a stainless steel wire. The coating can be prepared and evenly deposited on the stainless fiber by dipping the PDA fiber into a solution of MIL-53(Fe). The assay is also environmentally friendly because water is used as the solvent. The effects of extraction time, addition of salts, pH value and power of ultrasonic power were optimized. The coating is found to possess a high selectivity and adsorption capacity for PCBs compared to commercial SPME fibers such as the divinylbenzene/carboxen/polydimethylsiloxane fibers. Following desorption, the PCBs were quantified by GC-MS. The detection limits are between 50 and 90 pg⋅g of PCBs in soil. The fibers can be easily prepared, and the batch-to-batch reproducibility (RDS) is <10% (for n = 6). ABSTRACT The relationships between the chemical structures and hydration environment of the polymers can provide significant insight into the water-amphiphilic polymer interactions. Here, the hydrophobicity of amphiphilic block copolymers poly(ethylene tartaramide- b-alkyl isocyanate) is gradually tuned by using of a series of pendant alkyl (isopropyl, n-butyl, cyclopentyl, and cyclohexyl) groups. Dynamics of hydration probed by low-field NMR relaxometry exhibits a heterogeneous environment of water molecules, corresponding to tightly bound water with slow re-orientational mobility and loosely bound water with fast re-orientational mobility. Progressively larger amounts of bound water are present in the copolymers, ongoing from pendant isopropyl, n-butyl, cyclopentyl, and finally to cyclohexyl group. Water in the copolymer bearing the cyclohexyl group has a significantly high partial specific heat capacity. Therefore, hydrophobic interaction between the polymer and water is enhanced when the hydrophobicity of the polymer is increased, resulting in considerable hydrophobic hydration with decreased mobility of the bound water. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Nowadays, there are a few steroid drugs or intermediates that have been obtained via the transformation of microorganisms, and many strains of transformed steroids have not been found yet. Therefore, it is very significant to screen for the strains that have the abilities to transform steroids to produce valuable products. This study has focused on the screen and identification of strains, the structural identification of converted products, and the optimization of transformation conditions, as well as the establishment of transformation systems. A soil microbiota was screened for strain involved in the biotransformation of steroids. A new isolate IS547 is capable of converting a variety of steroids (such as cholesterol, ergosterol, hydrocortisone, progesterone, pregnenolone, and 16,17-alpha-epoxypregnenolone). Based on the 18S rDNA gene sequence comparison, the isolate IS547 has been demonstrated to be very closely related to Cladosporium sp. genus. Present paper is the first report regarding the microbial transformation by Cladosporium sp. to produce active intermediates, which include 7-hydroxy cholesterol, 20-droxyl-16α,17α-epoxypregna-4-dien-3-one, 7-ketocholesterol, and 7-droxyl-16α,17α-epoxypregna-4-dien-3,20-dione. Under the optimum conditions, the yields of product 3 and product 4 were 20.58 and 17.42%, respectively, higher than that prior to the optimization. The transformation rate increased significantly under the optimum fermentation conditions. This study describes an efficient, rapid, and inexpensive biotransformation system for the production of active pharmaceutical intermediates. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
