Abstract  Crystals of Perphenazine (P), obtained from water/propanol, are triclinic, space group P1, with a = 8.149 (2), b = 11.879 (2), c = 12.093 (2) Å, α = 60.49(1), β = 89.54(2), γ = 89.98(2)°, V = 1018.9 Å3, Z = 2, D obs = 1.32 g/cm3, D calc = 1.317 g/cm3. The crystal structure was solved with CAD-4 data (4287 reflections, 2267 ≥ 3σ) using the SHELX-86 programs and refined to a final R value of 0.059. There are two independent molecules in the asymmetric unit, each with slightly different conformations. The dihedral angle between the planes of the butterfly tricyclic ring system is 142° and 138° in the two molecules respectively whereas it is 141° in the published monoclinic form of Perphenazine. The C–S–C angle in the tricyclic groups are 97° and 100° and the C–S distances are 1.707 and 1.738 Å. The piperazine has the chair conformation. An analysis of the conformation of the phenothiazine ring system in the different structures solved to date shows a conformational variability in the dihedral angle between the tricyclic ring systems (134–155°). The high-voltage distribution and transmission of electricity are associated with a range of environmental effects that are increasingly contentious and are leading to difficult land-use planning issues. In the UK, local planning authorities have been taking an anticipatory approach to such efforts by the formation of policy in statutory land-use plans; this seeks to set constraints on the location and form of high-voltage installations and nearby development. This emerging body of policy reveals a number of consistently occurring themes that focus explicitly on the protection of local environmental conditions. This is indicative of broader trends apparent throughout plan-making in the last decade, in which environmental emphases have become more central, but the policy area also indicates that local authorities are responding to structural changes in the electricity industry and to changing patterns of energy generation. This article examines recent developments in Disability Management (DM) programs and practices, as well as their potential impact in the context of significant changes in workplace demographics. Recent trends are highlighted, in particular the integrated disability management (IDM) approach and broadening perspective on managing all workplace absences to support employees and enhance productivity. Emerging absence management models that encompass the elements of DM and IDM to deal with all work interruptions are identified as the cutting edge of best practices. The authors further discuss how this movement impacts the roles and functions of practitioners in the field based on the findings of recent research by the Commission on Disability Management Specialist Certification (CDMSC). Providers of Disability Management services were surveyed regarding their perceptions of major job functions and corresponding knowledge and skill requirements. The results indicated that knowledge in the areas of Case Management Techniques, Psychosocial Intervention, Vocational Aspects of Disability, Managed Care and Managed Disability, and Human Resources/Business is essential to perform Disability Management job functions. In this work, we present the ensemble-marginalized Kalman filter (EnMKF), a sequential algorithm analogous to our previously proposed approach (Ruggeri et al 2017 Bayesian Anal. 12 407–33, Iglesias et al 2018 Int. J. Heat Mass Transfer116 417–31), for estimating the state and parameters of linear parabolic partial differential equations in initial-boundary value problems when the boundary data are noisy. We apply EnMKF to infer the thermal properties of building walls and to estimate the corresponding heat flux from real and synthetic data. Compared with a modified ensemble Kalman filter (EnKF) that is not marginalized, EnMKF reduces the bias error, avoids the collapse of the ensemble without needing to add inflation, and converges to the mean field posterior using or less of the ensemble size required by EnKF. According to our results, the marginalization technique in EnMKF is key to performance improvement with smaller ensembles at any fixed time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
