Abstract

The article describes the case of a 76-year old man who was taken to the emergency room due to a right lower leg mass with a reported acute exacerbation of chronic pain. A physical examination showed a diffuse soft tissue mass measuring 9 centimeters by 6 centimeters and the patient had mild weakness of the tibialis anterior and extensor hallucis longus. From radiographs, laboratory and imaging studies, the final diagnosis was calcific myonecrosis of the right leg's anterior compartment.
