Dietary supplements are products that are popular in nutrition and can have an effect on maintaining health and well-being. The research aimed to gather data about how informed the student population of healthrelated and non-health-related study programs are, and the use of dietary supplements among them. Students in the first year of studies formed the group that participated in the research, a total of 95 students (males 37.9%, females 62.1%), with an average age of 20.54 ± 1.95. The research was conducted at the Department of Medical and Business-Technological Studies in Šabac. The data was gathered anonymously via a questionnaire on dietary supplements. All obtained results were processed using descriptive statistics in Microsoft Office Excel. Out of the total number of surveyed, 58.95% responded that they use supplements. In health-related study programs, the frequency of use is 55.17%, and in nonhealth 60.61%. Insufficient information about the use of supplements was reported by a significant number of students in non-health-related study programs - 69.69% of respondents, whereas the number of such students in the study program Health Care and Pharmacy was 31.03%. Two or more supplements were used most often, and the most frequently used was vitamin C. Students of health-related study programs buy dietary supplements based on the recommendation of a pharmacist (69%), whereas with other students the recommendation from a friend or pharmacist is equally present (27%). Depending on the study program there is a certain difference in the students' attitude towards dietary supplements. Results show the students' tendency to use dietary supplements in nutrition and that they are insufficiently informed about their use. The topic of this study is the factors that influence the consumption of traditional food products (TFPs) in tourism, as seen from the perspective of management-sector employees in food and beverage catering facilities. The paper aims to analyse the economic, environmental, social, and touristic factors that highly influence the consumption patterns of catering facilities which are significant providers of traditional gastronomic experiences in tourism, by using the specially designed TFPct scale. The study was conducted on a sample of 300 catering facilities in AP Vojvodina (the Republic of Serbia). An explanatory factor analysis was used to confirm the key factors that influence the consumption of traditional products used to prepare the meals that are a part of what catering facilities offer. Subsequently, a binary logistics regression model was used to establish which of the indicated factors has a statistically significant effect on the management's decision to purchase these products for their catering facility. The study showed that the TFPct scale is appropriate for this type of research, and that economic factors are key factors in the consumption of traditional products. The subject of this paper is the tourist potential of the gastronomic heritage of ethnic minorities inhabiting Vojvodina (Northern Serbia). The task of the paper is to examine the state of authenticity and potential for placement in the tourism market. The goal of the research was to obtain data about the authenticity and representation of authentic and traditional dishes in homes and hospitality facilities and their positioning in tourism. The research was conducted from October 2020 to May 2021 among residents of the region belonging to minority groups (Hungarian, Slovak, Romanian, Croatian, Montenegrin, and Roma). The survey was conducted electronically through cultural, art, and educational institutions that maintain the culture and tradition of the studied ethnic groups. The number of respondents who participated in the research was 619. The obtained data were statistically processed using descriptive statistics, as well as by using t-tests and ANOVA (LSD post hoc), and the reliability of the psychometric scales was assessed by the use of Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Research has shown that Vojvodina, with its ethnic structure and gastronomic heritage, has the potential to attract tourists motivated by authentic food. Tourism potential of gastronomic heritage are proportionate to the share of ethnic groups; hence, the representation and preservation of the Hungarian, Slovakian, and Croatian cuisines are predominant. The respondents have shown awareness of the activities that would contribute to a better positioning of gastronomic heritage in tourism through implementation in different tourism manifestations and extra marketing activities. We present a variability study of the lowest-luminosity Seyfert 1 nucleus of the galaxy NGC 4395 based on photometric monitoring campaigns in 2017 and 2018. Using 22 ground-based and space telescopes, we monitored NGC 4395 with a ∼5-minute cadence during a period of 10 days and obtained light curves in the ultraviolet (UV), V, J, H, and K/Ks bands, as well as narrowband Hα. The rms variability is ∼0.13 mag in the Swift UVM2 and V filter light curves, decreasing down to ∼0.01 mag in the K filter. After correcting for the continuum contribution to the Hα narrow band, we measured the time lag of the Hα emission line with respect to the V-band continuum as – minutes in 2017 and – minutes in 2018, depending on assumptions about the continuum variability amplitude in the Hα narrow band. We obtained no reliable measurements for the continuum-to-continuum lag between UV and V bands and among near-IR bands, owing to the large flux uncertainty of UV observations and the limited time baseline. We determined the active galactic nucleus (AGN) monochromatic luminosity at 5100 Å, , after subtracting the contribution of the nuclear star cluster. While the optical luminosity of NGC 4395 is two orders of magnitude lower than that of other reverberation-mapped AGNs, NGC 4395 follows the size–luminosity relation, albeit with an offset of 0.48 dex (≥2.5σ) from the previous best-fit relation of Bentz et al. The photometric light curve of PG 1302–102 shows periodic variability, which makes this object one of the most plausible supermassive black hole binary candidates. Interestingly, the most recent study of its updated optical light curve reports a decrease in the significance of periodicity, which may suggest that the binary model is less favorable. Here we model the PG 1302–102 light curve, spanning almost 20 yr, with a supermassive black hole binary system in which a perturbation in the accretion disk of a more massive component is present. Our model reproduces well the observed light curve, with a slight perturbation of a sinusoidal feature, and predicts that a slightly larger period than previously reported, of about 1899 days, could arise owing to a cold spot in the disk of a more massive component of a close, unequal-mass () black hole binary system. The light curve resembles the pattern of a sinusoid-like shape within a few years, which could be confirmed by future observations. In addition, using our hybrid method for periodicity detection, we show that the periods in the observed (1972 ± 254 days) and modeled (1873 ± 250 days) light curves are within 1σ, which is also consistent with our physical model prediction and with previous findings. Thus, both the periodic nature and its slight fluctuation of the light curve of PG 1302–102 are evident from our physical model and confirmed by the hybrid method for periodicity detection. From 13-years of the spectral optical monitoring of a well-known broad-line radio galaxy 3C 390.3 we concluded that the geometry of the broad emission-line region is complex, while still the main part of the emission is coming from the accretion disk. Here we present part of the analysis of the broad Hα and Hβ emission lines, which are showing highly variable double-peaked profiles during the monitoring period (1995-2007), with the aim to probe the accretion disk properties. The disk-like geometry plays a dominant role, but the variability of Hα and Hβ line profiles and intensities shows a presence of an additional emission-line region, that has a different nature for different periods, e.g. in one period the observed variation can be well modeled if one assumes changes in position and size of the emitting disk along the accretion disk.
