Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of multimodal features based on gait analysis and eye tracking for elderly people screening with subjective cognitive decline in the community. Methods: In the study, 412 cognitively normal older adults aged over 65 years were included. Among them, 230 individuals were diagnosed with nonsubjective cognitive decline and 182 with subjective cognitive decline. All participants underwent assessments using three screening tools: the traditional SCD9 scale, gait analysis, and eye tracking. The gait analysis involved three tasks: the single task, the counting backwards dual task, and the naming animals dual task. Eye tracking included six paradigms: smooth pursuit, median fixation, lateral fixation, overlap saccade, gap saccade, and anti-saccade tasks. Using the XGBoost machine learning algorithm, several models were developed based on gait analysis and eye tracking to classify subjective cognitive decline. Results: A total of 161 gait and eye-tracking features were measured. 22 parameters, including 9 gait and 13 eye-tracking features, showed significant differences between the two groups (p < 0.05). The top three eye-tracking paradigms were anti-saccade, gap saccade, and median fixation, with AUCs of 0.911, 0.904, and 0.891, respectively. The gait analysis features had an AUC of 0.862, indicating better discriminatory efficacy compared to the SCD9 scale, which had an AUC of 0.762. The model based on single and dual task gait, antisaccade, gap saccade, and median fixation achieved the best efficacy in SCD screening (AUC = 0.969). Conclusion: The gait analysis, eye-tracking multimodal assessment tool is an objective and accurate screening method that showed better detection of subjective cognitive decline. Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) represent a groundbreaking approach to enabling direct communication for individuals with severe motor impairments, circumventing traditional neural and muscular pathways. Among the diverse array of BCI technologies, electroencephalogram (EEG)-based systems are particularly favored due to their non-invasive nature, user-friendly operation, and costeffectiveness. Recent advancements have facilitated the development of adaptive bidirectional closed-loop BCIs, which dynamically adjust to users' brain activity, thereby enhancing responsiveness and efficacy in neurorehabilitation. These systems support real-time modulation and continuous feedback, fostering personalized therapeutic interventions that align with users' neural and behavioral responses. By incorporating machine learning algorithms, these BCIs optimize user interaction and promote recovery outcomes through mechanisms of activity-dependent neuroplasticity. This paper reviews the current landscape of EEG-based adaptive bidirectional closed-loop BCIs, examining their applications in the recovery of motor and sensory functions, as well as the challenges encountered in practical implementation. The findings underscore the potential of these technologies to significantly enhance patients' quality of life and social interaction, while also identifying critical areas for future research aimed at improving system adaptability and performance. Introductions: Identifying patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who are optimal candidates for immunotherapy is a cornerstone in clinical decisionmaking. The tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) is intricately linked with both the prognosis of the malignancy and the efficacy of immunotherapeutic interventions. CD8+ T cells, and more specifically, tissue-resident memory CD8+ T cells [CD8+ tissue-resident memory T (TRM) cells] are postulated to be pivotal in orchestrating the immune system's assault on tumor cells. Nevertheless, the accurate quantification of immune cell infiltration--and by extension, the prediction of immunotherapeutic efficacy--remains a significant scientific frontier. Methods: In this study, we introduce a cutting-edge non-invasive radiomic model, grounded in TIME markers (CD3+ T, CD8+ T, and CD8+ TRM cells), to infer the levels of immune cell infiltration in NSCLC patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors and ultimately predict their response to immunotherapy. Data from patients who had surgical resections (cohort 1) were employed to construct a radiomic model capable of predicting the TIME. This model was then applied to forecast the TIME for patients under immunotherapy (cohort 2). Conclusively, the study delved into the association between the predicted TIME from the radiomic model and the immunotherapeutic outcomes of the patients. Result: For the immune cell infiltration radiomic prediction models in cohort 1, the AUC values achieved 0.765, 0.763, and 0.675 in the test set of CD3+ T, CD8+ T, and CD8+ TRM, respectively. While the AUC values for the TIME-immunotherapy predictive value were 0.651, 0.763, and 0.829 in the CD3-immunotherapy response model, CD8-immunotherapy response model, and CD8+ TRMimmunotherapy response model in cohort 2, respectively. The CD8+ TRMimmunotherapy model exhibited the highest predictive value and was significantly better than the CD3-immunotherapy model in predicting the immunotherapy response. The progression-free survival (PFS) analysis based on the predicted levels of CD3+ T, CD8+ T, and CD8+ TRM immune cell infiltration showed that the CD8+ T cell infiltration level was an independent factor (P=0.014, HR=0.218) with an AUC value of 0.938. Discussion: Our empirical evidence reveals that patients with substantial CD8+ T cell infiltration experience a markedly improved PFS compared with those with minimal infiltration, asserting the status of the CD8+ T cell as an independent prognosticator of PFS in the context of immunotherapy. Although CD8+ TRM cells demonstrated the greatest predictive accuracy for immunotherapy response, their predictive strength for PFS was marginally surpassed by that of CD8+ T cells. These insights advocate for the application of the proposed noninvasive radiomic model, which utilizes TIME analysis, as a reliable predictor for immunotherapy outcomes and PFS in NSCLC patients. Wearable devices hold significant potential in healthcare and medical diagnostics. One major challenge in realizing this potential is the low barrier property of polymer substrates, which fail to withstand surrounding moisture and biofluids. In this work, a two-step strategy involving ALI followed by a UV-curing process is developed to fabricate a K48PDMS/Al2O3 ultra-barrier with high barrier property of 7.82 × 10-5 g m-2 day-1 under stretching strain, representing one of the highest values among current works. Moreover, the K48PDMS/Al2O3 barrier enables Ca-tested devices to exhibit extended operational lifetimes of up to 12 days in simulated rain. It also ensures the high sensitivity of strain sensors for real-time monitoring of health-related physiological signals, even when exposed to aggressive solutions such as PBS, KOH, and glucose. A clear "filling-cross-linking" mechanism is revealed, involving the filling of the void spaces within polymer chains followed by the cross-linking of polymer side chains to enhance the density of the hybrid layer. Adjusting porosity and functional group density ensures complete Al2O3 infiltration into the polymer. The cross-linking increases from 12.31% to 73.79% compared to the UV-curing process alone due to the presence of Al2O3, further enhancing the density of the hybrid layer and its barrier properties. Objective: This study explored the utility of NLR (neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio) as a marker to predict Lower Extremity Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) in the Chinese population, as well as to assess its consistency and diagnostic value with digital subtraction angiography. Methods: Patients were distributed into three groups according to the angiography in lower limb arterial: group L1, plaque with no stenosis; group L2, plaque with luminal stenosis and group L3, total vascular occlusion. Changes in the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio were documented and compared among groups. Results: Compared to group L1, NLR was significantly increased in L2 (1.76 vs 2.35, p=0.037) and L3 (1.76 vs 3.60, p<0.001), with a gradual decrease in ABI (Ankle-Brachial Index, 1.11 vs 1.02 vs 0.94, p<0.001). Those older patients with higher prevalence of hypertension (p=0.002), obesity (p=0.032), or reduced high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (p=0.020) were more likely to develop PAD; higher glycosylated hemoglobin (p=0.045), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (p=0.006), and systolic blood pressure (p<0.001) levels led to a greater tendency to suffer stenosis or even occlusion; the probability of severe stenosis (>70%) increased to 2.075 times for every 1 increase in NLR, while it was 46.8% for every 0.1 increase in ABI. The optimal NLR cut-off value to predict severe stenosis in PAD was 2.73. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis of the inflammatory biomarkers and severe stenosis prediction displayed an area under the curve of 0.81. CsPbBr3 crystals exhibit high photoelectric absorption, large carrier mobility, long carrier lifetimes, and notable stability at room temperature. With an intermediate bandgap of 2.3 eV, they allow the fabrication of stable photonic devices and show good application prospects in the field of nuclear radiation detection. Through the adjustment of the polycrystalline raw material synthesis, crucible shape design, and multiple growths, a high-quality CsPbBr3 crystal of Φ 50 mm x 80 mm with uniform and crack-free appearance was successfully grown by the vertical Bridgman method. The FWHM of the different crystalline planes was characterized by XRD rocking curves, which showed that the (010) plane has a narrower half peak width and higher crystallinity. Detectors with an Au/CsPbBr3/Au structure were fabricated by magnetron sputtering with Au electrodes of 2 mm in diameter, and the resistivity of the (100) crystal plane and (010) crystal plane was 2.5 x 109 Ω cm and 7.8 x 109 Ω cm, respectively. Under a 5 V bias, UV lamp bands and X-ray irradiation tests revealed that devices with the (010) plane had higher switching ratios and sensitivity, resulting in higher signal-to-noise ratios at lower X-ray doses. Background: Transmission-blocking vaccines (TBVs) can effectively prevent the community's spread of malaria by targeting the antigens of mosquito sexual stage parasites. At present, only a few candidate antigens have demonstrated transmission-blocking activity (TBA) potential in P. vivax. Quiescin-sulfhydryl oxidase (QSOX) is a sexual stage protein in the rodent malaria parasite Plasmodium berghei and is associated with a critical role in protein folding by introducing disulfides into unfolded reduced proteins. Here, we reported the immunogenicity and transmission-blocking potency of the PvQSOX in P. vivax. Methods and findings: The full-length recombinant PvQSOX protein (rPvQSOX) was expressed in the Escherichia coli expression system. The anti-rPvQSOX antibodies were generated following immunization with the rPvQSOX in rabbits. A parasite integration of the pvqsox gene into the P. berghei pbqsox gene knockout genome was developed to express full-length PvQSOX protein in P. berghei (Pv-Tr-PbQSOX). In western blot, the anti-rPvQSOX antibodies recognized the native PvQSOX protein expressed in transgenic P. berghei gametocyte and ookinete. In indirect immunofluorescence assays, the fluorescence signal was detected in the sexual stages, including gametocyte, gamete, zygote, and ookinete. Anti-rPvQSOX IgGs obviously inhibited the ookinetes and oocysts development both in vivo and in vitro using transgenic parasites. Direct membrane feeding assays of anti-rPvQSOX antibodies were conducted using four field P. vivax isolates (named isolates #1-4) in Thailand. Oocyst density in mosquitoes was significantly reduced by 32.00, 85.96, 43.52, and 66.03% with rabbit anti-rPvQSOX antibodies, respectively. The antirPvQSOX antibodies also showed a modest reduction of infection prevalence by 15, 15, 20, and 22.22%, respectively, as compared to the control, while the effect was insignificant. The variation in the DMFA results may be unrelated to the genetic polymorphisms. Compared to the P.vivax Salvador (Sal) I strain sequences, the pvqsox in isolate #1 showed no amino acid substitution, whereas isolates #2, #3, and #4 all had the M361I substitution. Purpose: Given the increasing occurrence of stroke and high-sodium diets (DHIS) over the past 30 years, it is crucial to assess the global, national, and regional impact of DHIS on the burden of stroke. Methods and materials: The Global Burden of Diseases Study 2019 provided the study's data. We used the Bayesian meta-regression tool DisMod-MR 2.1 to evaluate the burden of stroke attributable to DHIS. Age-standardized disability-adjusted life years (ASDR) and age-standardized mortality rate (ASMR) were used to quantify the burden. We perform correlation analysis utilizing the Spearman rank-order correlation method, and we calculate the estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) to evaluate temporal trends. Results: Globally, DHIS accounts for 17,673.33 thousand disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) and 700.98 thousand deaths of stroke in 2019. The burden of stroke attributable to DHIS has declined between 1990 and 2019 globally and in the majority of regions, with the largest declines seen in regions with high sociodemographic indexes (SDI). Both ASMR and ASDR were higher regionally in regions with moderate SDI than those in developed regions. Furthermore, the absolute values of EAPC, reflecting the rate of decrease, were notably lower in these regions compared to developed nations. High-income North America, categorized within the SDI regions, notably witnessed the smallest decline in ASDR over the last three decades. Additionally, from 1990 to 2019, males consistently bore a larger burden of stroke attributable to DHIS. Conclusion: The burden of stroke attributable to DHIS remained a major concern despite advancements in public knowledge of stroke and their utilization of emergency medical services. Over the past 30 years, more burden has been placed on males and regions with moderate SDI values; in males, higher EAPC values for both ASMR and ASDR have been found. Context: Few studies have directly compared the cognitive characteristics of patients with mild autonomous cortisol secretion (MACS) and Cushing's syndrome (CS). The effect of surgical or conservative treatment on cognitive function in patients with MACS is still unclear. Objective: To compare the differences in cognitive function between patients with MACS and CS and evaluate the effect of surgery or conservative treatment on cognitive function. Methods: We prospectively recruited 59 patients with nonfunctional adrenal adenoma (NFA), 36 patients with MACS, and 20 patients with adrenal CS who completed the global cognition and cognitive subdomains assessments. Seventeen MACS patients were re-evaluated for cognitive function after a 12-month follow-up period; of these, eleven underwent laparoscopic adrenalectomy and six received conservative treatment. Results: Patients with MACS and CS performed worse in the global cognition and multiple cognitive domains than those with NFA (all P<0.05). No statistical difference was found in cognitive functions between patients with MACS and CS. Logistic regression analysis showed that patients with MACS (odds ratio [OR] =3.738, 95% confidence intervals [CI]: 1.329-10.515, P=0.012) and CS (OR=6.026, 95% CI: 1.411-25.730, P=0.015) were associated with an increased risk of immediate memory impairment. Visuospatial/constructional, immediate and delayed memory scores of MACS patients were significantly improved at 12 months compared with pre-operation in the surgical treatment group (all P<0.05), whereas there was no improvement in the conservative treatment group. Conclusion: Patients with MACS have comparable cognitive impairment as patients with CS. Cognitive function was partially improved in patients with MACS after adrenalectomy. Background: The relationship between hemorrhagic transformation (HT) and uric acid (UA) remains controversial. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between UA concentrations and the risk of HT following acute ischemic stroke (AIS). Methods: Electronic databases were searched for studies on HT and UA from inception to October 31, 2023. Two researchers independently reviewed the studies for inclusion. STATA Software 16.0 was used to compute the standardized mean difference (SMD) and 95% confidence interval (CI) for the pooled and post-outlier outcomes. Heterogeneity was evaluated using the I2 statistic and the Galbraith plot. Additionally, sensitivity analysis was performed. Lastly, Begg's funnel plot and Egger's test were used to assess publication bias. Results: A total of 11 studies involving 4,608 patients were included in the metaanalysis. The pooled SMD forest plot (SMD = -0.313, 95% CI = -0.586--0.039, p = 0.025) displayed that low UA concentrations were linked to a higher risk of HT in post-AIS patients. However, heterogeneity (I2 = 89.8%, p < 0.001) was high among the studies. Six papers fell outside the Galbraith plot regression line, and there exclusive resulted in the absence of heterogeneity (I2 = 52.1%, p = 0.080). Meanwhile, repeated SMD analysis (SMD = -0.517, 95% CI = -0.748--0.285, p = 0.000) demonstrated that the HT group had lower UA concentrations. Finally, Begg's funnel plot and Egger's test indicated the absence of publication bias in our meta-analysis. Conclusion: This meta-analysis illustrated a substantial connection between UA concentrations and HT, with lower UA concentrations independently linked with a higher risk of HT post-AIS. The epiphytic bacteria in aquatic ecosystems, inhabiting a unique ecological niche with significant ecological function, have long been the subject of attention. Habitat characteristics and plant species are believed to be important in controlling the assembly of epiphytic bacteria. However, the underlying principle governing the assembly of the epiphytic bacterial community on macrophytes is far from clear. In this study, we systematically compared the diversity and community composition of epiphytic bacteria both in different habitats and on different species of macrophytes where they were attached. Results suggested that neither the plant species nor the habitat had a significant effect on the diversity and community of epiphytic bacteria independently, indicating that the epiphytic bacterial community composition was correlated to both geographical distance and individual species of macrophytes. Furthermore, almost all of the abundant taxa were shared between different lake regions or macrophyte species, and the most abundant bacteria belonged to Proteobacteria and Firmicutes. Our results demonstrated that the competitive lottery model may explain the pattern of epiphytic bacterial colonization of submerged macrophyte surfaces. This research could provide a new perspective for exploring plant-microbe interaction in aquatic systems and new evidence for the lottery model as the mechanism best explaining the assembly of epiphytic bacteria. Objective: To investigate the diagnostic efficacy of the clinical ultrasound imaging model, ultrasonographic radiomics model, and comprehensive model based on ultrasonographic radiomics for the differentiation of small clear cell Renal Cell Carcinoma (ccRCC) and Renal Angiomyolipoma (RAML). Methods: The clinical, ultrasound, and contrast-enhanced CT(CECT) imaging data of 302 small renal tumors (maximum diameter ≤ 4cm) patients in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital from June 2018 to June 2022 were retrospectively analyzed, with 182 patients of ccRCC and 120 patients of RAML. The ultrasound images of the largest diameter of renal tumors were manually segmented by ITK-SNAP software, and Pyradiomics (v3.0.1) module in Python 3.8.7 was applied to extract ultrasonographic radiomics features from ROI segmented images. The patients were randomly divided into training and internal validation cohorts in the ratio of 7:3. The Random Forest algorithm of the Sklearn module was applied to construct the clinical ultrasound imaging model, ultrasonographic radiomics model, and comprehensive model. The efficacy of the prediction models was verified in an independent external validation cohort consisting of 69 patients, from 230 small renal tumor patients in two different institutions. The Delong test compared the predictive ability of three models and CECT. Calibration Curve and clinical Decision Curve Analysis were applied to evaluate the model and determine the net benefit to patients. Results: 491 ultrasonographic radiomics features were extracted from 302 small renal tumor patients, and 9 ultrasonographic radiomics features were finally retained for modeling after regression and dimensionality reduction. In the internal validation cohort, the area under the curve (AUC), sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of the clinical ultrasound imaging model, ultrasonographic radiomics model, comprehensive model, and CECT were 0.75, 76.7%, 60.0%, 70.0%; 0.80, 85.6%, 61.7%, 76.0%; 0.88, 90.6%, 76.7%, 85.0%and 0.90, 92.6%, 88.9%, 91.1%, respectively. In the external validation cohort, AUC, sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of the three models and CECT were 0.73, 67.5%, 69.1%, 68.3%; 0.89, 86.7%, 80.0%, 83.5%; 0.90, 85.0%, 85.5%, 85.2% and 0.91, 94.6%, 88.3%, 91.3%, respectively. The DeLong test showed no significant difference between the clinical ultrasound imagingmodel and the ultrasonographic radiomics model (Z=-1.287, P=0.198). The comprehensive model showed superior diagnostic performance than the ultrasonographic radiomics model (Z=4. 394, P<0.001) and the clinical ultrasound imaging model (Z=4. 732, P<0.001). Moreover, there was no significant difference in AUC between the comprehensive model and CECT (Z=-0.252, P=0.801). Both in the internal and external validation cohort, the Calibration Curve and Decision Curve Analysis showed a better performance of the comprehensive model. Conclusion: It is feasible to construct an ultrasonographic radiomics model for distinguishing small ccRCC and RAML based on ultrasound images, and the diagnostic performance of the comprehensive model is superior to the clinical ultrasound imaging model and ultrasonographic radiomics model, similar to that of CECT. Objective: The burden of gastric cancer (GC) across different age groups needs updating. We determined the GC global, regional, and national burden profiles and changes in incidence for 3 sequential 5-year intervals from 2003 to 2017. Methods: The latest incidence and mortality estimates of GC from 185 countries and regions were extracted from the GLOBOCAN 2022 database. The 5-year interval age-standardised incidence rates (ASIRs) were evaluated using cancer registry data from volumes X--XII of the Cancer Incidence in Five Continents (CI5). Correlation analysis was used to evaluate the relationship between ASIR or the age-standardised mortality rate (ASMR) and the Human Development Index (HDI). Results: There was an estimated global 968,000 new GC cases and 660,000 deaths in 2022, with male predominance. GC ASIRs and ASMRs were 9.2 and 6.1 per 100,000 persons, respectively. East Asia had the highest burden, with 53.8% of cases and 48.2% of deaths among all geographic regions. There was a significant correlation between ASIR and HDI. Over three 5-year intervals from 2003 to 2017, the incidence of GC notably decreased in most countries but peaked at 2008--2012 in New Zealand, Turkey, and South Africa. Several countries in Europe, Oceania, and America suggest an increasingly concerning trend among younger individuals, especially females. Conclusions: GC is a significant health issue, especially among males and in geographic regions with an HDI, such as eastern Asia. While the incidence of GC is decreasing in many countries due to prevention efforts and improved treatments, a rising trend persists among younger individuals. Objective: Liver cancer is a major health concern globally and in China. This analysis investigated deaths and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) with respect to etiologies and risk factors for liver cancer in China and worldwide. Methods: Global and China-specific data were collected on liver cancer deaths, DALYs, and age-standardized rates (ASRs) from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 database. Liver cancer etiologies were classified into five groups and risk factors were categorized into three levels. Each proportion of liver cancer burden was calculated in different geographic regions. The joinpoint regression model were used to assess the trends from 1990--2019. Results: Liver cancer accounted for 484,577 deaths worldwide in 2019 with an ASR of 5.9 per 100,000 population. China had an elevated liver cancer death ASR in 2019 and males had an ASR 1.7 times the global rate. The global ASR for DALYs peaked at 75--79 years of age but peaked earlier in China. Hepatitis B virus was the prominent etiology globally (39.5%) and in China (62.5%), followed by hepatitis C virus and alcohol consumption. In high sociodemographic index countries, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis has gained an increasing contribution as an etiologic factor. The liver cancer burden due to various etiologies has decreased globally in both genders. However, metabolic risk factors, particularly obesity, have had a growing contribution to the liver cancer burden, especially among males. Conclusions: Despite an overall decreasing trend in the liver cancer burden in China and worldwide, there has been a rising contribution from metabolic risk factors, highlighting the importance of implementing targeted prevention and control strategies that address regional and gender disparities. Objective: This study aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the global burden of esophageal cancer (EC) and determine the temporal trends and factors influencing changes in the global burden. Methods: The latest incidence and mortality data for EC worldwide were obtained from GLOBALCAN 2022. The mortality and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) rates for EC from 1990--2019 were sourced from the 2019 Global Burden of Diseases. Trends in EC mortality and DALYs attributable to 11 risk factors or clusters of risk were analyzed using the joinpoint regression model. The trends in age-related EC burden were assessed using a decomposition approach. Results: An estimated 511,054 new cases of EC were diagnosed in 2022 with 445,391 deaths worldwide. Approximately 75% of cases and deaths occurred in Asia. Nearly 50% of global EC deaths and DALYs were attributed to tobacco use in men in 2019, while 20% were attributed to high body mass index (BMI) in women. From 1990--2019, EC deaths and DALYs attributable to almost all risk factors had declining trends, while EC deaths and DALYs attributed to high BMI in men had upward trends. The age-related EC burden exhibited an upward trend driven by population growth and aging, which contributed to 307.4 thousand deaths and 7.2 million DALYs due to EC. Conclusions: The EC burden remains substantial worldwide. Effective tobacco and obesity control measures are critical for addressing the risk-attributable burden of EC. The accurate measurement of the thermal conductivity in a wide range of semiconductors is of great importance for applications like power electronic devices, which is, however, quite challenging. Current measurement methods suffer from limited measurement range, non-accuracy, complexity, etc. We report in this work an effective in situ method for thermal conductivity measurement based on laser-excited Raman spectroscopy, which has the advantages of non-contact, non-destructive, facile preparation, easy operation, and the capability of a large measurement range. The critical relationship parameters correlating Raman peak shifts and temperature change can be extracted by monitoring and fitting the Raman peak movement at different temperatures. Here, the laser with the micrometer scale spot serves as a Raman scattering source and a heat source for the samples. The thermal conductivity of Si, SiC, polycrystalline diamond, and single crystalline diamond at room temperature was determined to be 140.2 ± 14.4, 414.7 ± 26.2, 1372.3 ± 229.0, and 1734.9 ± 280.6 W/(m K), respectively, which are in good agreement with the theoretical prediction. The temperature distribution of the samples was simulated by the finite element method, which confirms the experimental data. These results highlight the feasibility, reliability, and versatility of Raman spectroscopy for measuring semiconductor materials, particularly those with high thermal conductivity. Solar-driven interfacial evaporation exhibits tremendous potential to address the challenge of freshwater scarcity. However, the low evaporation rate and high fabrication cost of petroleum-based materials hindered its advancement. This work proposes a programmed design of a bilayer evaporator using wood biomass and the emerging deep eutectic solvent technical lignin (DES lignin). The mild delignification process decreased its thermal conductivity (from 0.20 to 0.16 W m-1 K-1), while the DES lignin-derived porous carbon was used as the surface photothermal coating layer for light absorption. The results indicated that the increased surface area of lignin porous carbons can regulate the solar-derived evaporation rate. The DES lignin-derived porous carbons, equipped with abundant hydroxyl groups and enhanced photothermal conversion capability, enable in situ thermal reduction and loading of silver nanoparticles, which further endowed them with antibacterial functionality. The prepared evaporation device exhibited an excellent evaporation rate of 2.89 kg m-2 h-1 under 1.0 kW m-2. It was feasible for various wastewater treatments such as high-salinity wastewater, dye wastewater, and drilling wastewater with considerable stability and antibacterial performance. This work presents a facile technique for sustainable evaporator fabrication using wood and DES lignin, which also provides useful information for technical lignin valorization that results from the current emerging lignocellulose biorefinery process. Multidrug resistance is a substantial obstacle in treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with therapies like cisplatin (DDP)-based adjuvant chemotherapy and EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). Aaptamine-7 (AP-7), a benzonaphthyridine alkaloid extracted from Aaptos aaptos sponge, has been shown to exhibit a broad spectrum of anti-tumor activity. However, the anticancer activity of AP-7 in combination with DDP and its molecular mechanisms in multidrug-resistant NSCLC are not yet clear. Our research indicates that AP-7 bolsters the growth inhibition activity of DDP on multidrug-resistant NSCLC cells. AP-7 notably disrupts DDP-induced cell cycle arrest and amplifies DDP-induced DNA damage effects in these cells. Furthermore, the combination of AP-7 and DDP downregulates Chk1 activation, interrupts the DNA damage repairdependent Chk1/CDK1 pathway, and helps to overcome drug resistance and boost apoptosis in multidrug-resistant NSCLC cells and a gefitinib-resistant xenograft mice model. In summary, AP-7 appears to enhance DDP-induced DNA damage by impeding the Chk1 signaling pathway in multidrug-resistant NSCLC, thereby augmenting growth inhibition, both in vitro and in vivo. Sepsis is a complex syndrome characterized by multi-organ dysfunction, due to the presence of harmful microorganisms in blood which could cause mortality. Complications associated with sepsis involve multiple organ dysfunction. The pathogenesis of sepsis remains intricate, with limited treatment options and high mortality rates. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has consistently demonstrated to have a potential on various disease management. Its complements include reduction of oxidative stress, inhibiting inflammatory pathways, regulating immune responses, and improving microcirculation. Traditional Chinese medicine can mitigate or even treat sepsis in a human system. This review examines progress on the use of TCM extracts for treating sepsis through different pharmacological action and its mechanisms. The potential targets of TCM extracts and active ingredients for the treatment of sepsis and its complications have been elucidated through molecular biology research, network pharmacology prediction, molecular docking analysis, and visualization analysis. Our aim is to provide a theoretical basis and empirical support for utilizing TCM in the treatment of sepsis and its complications while also serving as a reference for future research and development of sepsis drugs. Virus receptors determine the tissue tropism of viruses and have a certain relationship with the clinical outcomes caused by viral infection, which is of great importance for the identification of virus receptors to understand the infection mechanism of viruses and to develop entry inhibitor. Proximity labeling (PL) is a new technique for studying protein-protein interactions, but it has not yet been applied to the identification of virus receptors or co-receptors. Here, we attempt to identify co-receptor of SARS-CoV-2 by employing TurboID-catalyzed PL. The membrane protein angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) was employed as a bait and conjugated to TurboID, and a A549 cell line with stable expression of ACE2-TurboID was constructed. SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus were incubated with ACE2-TurboID stably expressed cell lines in the presence of biotin and ATP, which could initiate the catalytic activity of TurboID and tag adjacent endogenous proteins with biotin. Subsequently, the biotinylated proteins were harvested and identified by mass spectrometry. We identified a membrane protein, AXL, that has been functionally shown to mediate SARS-CoV-2 entry into host cells. Our data suggest that PL could be used to identify co-receptors for virus entry. Background and aims: Patients with relapsed/refractory aggressive B-cell lymphoma(r/r aBCL)who progressed after CD19-specific chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy (CD19CART) had a poor prognosis. Application of CAR T-cells targeting a second different antigen (CD20) expressed on the surface of B-cell lymphoma as subsequent anti-cancer salvage therapy (CD20-SD-CART) is also an option. This study aimed to evaluate the survival outcome of CD20-SDCART as a salvage therapy for CD19 CART treatment failure. Methods: This retrospective cohort study enrolled patients with aBCL after the failure of CD19 CART treatment at Beijing Gobroad Boren Hospital from December 2019 to May 2022. Patients were subsequently treated with CD20CART therapy or non-CART therapy (polatuzumab or non-polatuzumab). Results: A total of 93 patients were included in the study, with 54 patients receiving CD20-SD-CART therapy. After a median follow-up of 18.54 months, the CD20-SD-CART group demonstrated significantly longer median progression-free survival (4.04 months vs. 2.27 months, p=0.0032) and median overall survival (8.15 months vs. 3.02 months, p<0.0001) compared to the non- CART group. The complete response rate in the CD20-SD-CART group (15/54, 27.8%) was also significantly higher than the non-CART group (3/38, 7.9%, p=0.03). Multivariate analysis further confirmed that CD20CART treatment was independently associated with improved overall survival (HR, 0.28; 95% CI, 0.16– 0.51; p<0.0001) and progression-free survival (HR, 0.46; 95% CI, 0.27– 0.8; p=0.005). Introduction: Chronic schizophrenia has a course of 5 years or more and has a widespread abnormalities in brain functional connectivity. This study aimed to find characteristic functional and structural changes in a long illness duration chronic schizophrenia (10 years or more). Methods: Thirty-six patients with a long illness duration chronic schizophrenia and 38 healthy controls were analyzed by independent component analysis of brain network functional connectivity. Correlation analysis with clinical duration was performed on six resting state networks: auditory network, default mode network, dorsal attention network, fronto-parietal network, somatomotor network, and visual network. Results: The differences in the resting state network between the two groups revealed that patients exhibited enhanced inter-network connections between default mode network and multiple brain networks, while the inter-network connections between somatomotor network, default mode network and visual network were reduced. In patients, functional connectivity of Cuneus_L was negatively correlated with illness duration. Furthermore, receiver operating characteristic curve of functional connectivity showed that changes in Thalamus_L, Rectus_L, Frontal_Mid_R, and Cerebelum_9_L may indicate a longer illness duration chronic schizophrenia. Discussion: In our study, we also confirmed that the course of disease is significantly associated with specific brain regions, and the changes in specific brain regions may indicate that chronic schizophrenia has a course of 10 years or more. A novel three-unit 8/4 wide-rotor bearingless switched reluctance motor has been designed to address the challenges of strong coupling and control difficulties between torque and suspension force in traditional bearingless switched reluctance motors. This motor features independent torque flux paths and suspension flux paths, allowing for separate control of torque and suspension force similar to traditional switched reluctance motors and active magnetic bearings. To tackle issues such as torque ripple, suspension force ripple, and reduced system robustness caused by external disturbances during operation, a torque sharing function and a suspension current PWM control strategy based on active disturbance rejection technology have been proposed. Firstly, mathematical models for the torque and suspension force of the three-unit 8/4 wide-rotor bearingless switched reluctance motor were established using Ansys simulation data and the Maxwell stress method. Subsequently, a torque sharing function and a suspension current PWM control system were developed based on these mathematical models. The endpoint of the commutation overlap zone was set at the maximum value of the phase inductance to eliminate the weak coupling effect of torque current on suspension force. Finally, active disturbance rejection control technology was introduced to compare its performance with that of traditional PID controllers in suppressing interference. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method ensures decoupling switching between each phase's motor torque and its associated suspension while enhancing anti-interference performance. Background: Insulin resistance (IR) is the key pathological basis of many metabolic disorders. Lack of asialoglycoprotein receptor 1 (ASGR1) decreased the serum lipid levels and reduced the risk of coronary artery disease. However, whether ASGR1 also participates in the regulatory network of insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism remains unknown. Methods: The constructed ASGR1 knockout mice and ASGR1-/- HepG2 cell lines were used to establish the animal model of metabolic syndrome and the IR cell model by high-fat diet (HFD) or drug induction, respectively. Then we evaluated the glucose metabolism and insulin signaling in vivo and in vitro. Results: ASGR1 deficiency ameliorated systemic IR in mice fed with HFD, evidenced by improved insulin intolerance, serum insulin, and homeostasis model assessment of IR index, mainly contributed from increased insulin signaling in the liver, but not in muscle or adipose tissues. Meanwhile, the insulin signal transduction was significantly enhanced in ASGR1-/- HepG2 cells. By transcriptome analyses and comparison, those differentially expressed genes between ASGR1 null and wild type were enriched in the insulin signal pathway, particularly in phosphoinositide 3-kinase-AKT signaling. Notably, ASGR1 deficiency significantly reduced hepatic gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis. Conclusion: The ASGR1 deficiency was consequentially linked with improved hepatic insulin sensitivity under metabolic stress, hepatic IR was the core factor of systemic IR, and overcoming hepatic IR significantly relieved the systemic IR. Background: Malnutrition is a poor prognostic factor in a wide range of diseases. Nevertheless, there is a lack of data investigating the association between malnutrition and outcomes of patients with type B aortic dissection (TBAD) undergoing thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR). Therefore, the aim of the present study was to report the prevalence and clinical impact of malnutrition assessed by the controlling nutritional status (CONUT) score in TBAD patients undergoing TEVAR. Methods: The retrospective study indicated that a total of 881 patients diagnosed with TBAD and treated with TEVAR from January 2010 to December 2017 were categorized into subgroups based on their CONUT score (low ≤5 vs. high >5). To assess the correlation between malnutrition and early and follow-up outcomes of TBAD patients, logistic and Cox regression analysis were utilized, incorporating inverse probability weighting. Results: Malnutrition was present in 20.3% of patients according to the CONUT score. Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that pre-operative CONUT score modeled as a continuous variable was an independent risk factor for prolonged intensive care unit stay (odds ratio [OR], 1.09; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.02–1.17; p = 0.015), 30-day death (OR, 1.43; 95% CI, 1.19–1.72; p < 0.001), delirium (OR, 1.11; 95% CI, 1.01–1.23; p = 0.035) and acute kidney injury (OR, 1.09; 95% CI, 1.01–1.16; p = 0.027). During a median follow-up of 70.8 (46.1–90.8) months, 102 (11.8%) patients died (high CONUT group: 21.8% vs. low CONUT group: 9.0%; p < 0.001). Multivariable Cox proportional-hazards models showed that malnutrition was an independent predictor for follow-up mortality (hazard ratio, 1.68; 95% CI, 1.11–2.53; p = 0.014). Results remained consistent across various sensitivity analyses. Conclusions: Malnutrition assessed by the CONUT score could profoundly affect the early and follow-up prognosis in patients undergoing TEVAR. Introduction: To explore whether blood flow-restrictive resistance exercise (BFRE) can be used as an alternative strategy to moderate-intensity resistance training (RT) to improve metabolic disorder and body composition in older adults with type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Methods: This is a single-blind, randomized, controlled trial. Ninety-eight older adults with T2DM were randomly divided into three groups: BFRE group (n = 34), RT group (n = 31) and control group (n = 33). Two exercise groups received supervised collective training for a period of six months, each lasting 50 min, three times a week. The primary outcomes included fasting plasma glucose (FPG), Glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), blood lipids, blood pressure, and body composition. The secondary outcome was muscle performance. Results: After six months of intervention, the FPG, HbA1c, blood lipids, diastolic blood pressure, body composition, and muscle performance of the two exercise groups were significantly improved relative to the control group and baseline measurements (P < 0.05). There was no significant increase in lean mass between the two exercise groups compared to the control group and baseline (p > 0.05). There was no significant decrease in systolic blood pressure between the two exercise groups compared to the control group (p > 0.05), but it was significantly lower than their baseline (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in all indicators between the two exercise groups at the baseline, third and sixth months of intervention (p > 0.05). Discussion: BFRE can safely and effectively improve the metabolic disorder and body composition of older adults with T2DM. For elderly exercise beginners, BFRE can be used as an alternative strategy to moderate-intensity resistance training. Background: The therapeutic effects of vitamin D supplementation on Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) aggravation remain controversial and inconclusive. To probe into this contentious issue, we performed the present meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Methods: Literature published up to June 2023 was retrieved from Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science and Embase. RCTs assessing mortality, intensive care unit (ICU) admission, mechanical ventilation (MV), length of hospitalization (LOH), and inflammatory markers containing C-reactive protein (CRP), D-dimer, interleukin-6 (IL-6), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were included. 19 RCTs were involved in the analysis and were conducted subgroup analyses on the baseline COVID-19 severity and vitamin D administration. Results: In the severity subgroup, statistically significant effects in moderate to severe group were observed in ICU admission (OR 0.43, 95% CI 0.23, 0.80; p = 0.008), MV (OR 0.44, 95% CI 0.27, 0.72; p = 0.001) and LOH (SMD –0.49, 95% CI –0.92, −0.06; p = 0.027). In the administration subgroup, effects of ICU admission (OR 0.39, 95% CI 0.16, 0.97; p = 0.044), MV (OR 0.18, 95% CI 0.07, 0.46; p = 0.000) and LOH (SMD –0.50, 95% CI –0.96, −0.04; p = 0.034) were more pronounced in patients supplied with multiple-dose vitamin D than single-dose. Although the result of mortality showed no statistically significant effect, it indicated a reduced trend (OR 0.87, 95% CI 0.63, 1.12; p > 0.05). The results of inflammatory markers reached no statistical differences. Conclusion: This meta-analysis revealed that moderate to severe COVID-19 patients supplied with multiple doses of vitamin D were less apt to need ICU admission, mechanical ventilation and have shorter hospital stays. Background: Cerebrovascular disease, among the most prevalent neurological disorders, poses a substantial threat to human health with its elevated mortality and disability rates, placing considerable strain on healthcare systems. Although several studies in recent years have suggested a potential association between digestive system diseases and cerebrovascular diseases, the findings remain inconsistent. Methods: Genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary data for 12 digestive diseases and cerebrovascular diseases were used to conduct Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis. In this investigation, we endeavored to elucidate the causal relationship between digestive system diseases and cerebrovascular diseases. Employing a comprehensive approach, including two-sample MR (TSMR), multivariate MR (MVMR), and two-step MR analysis, we leveraged summary statistics data obtained from published GWAS. The primary analysis method employed was inverse variance weighted (IVW), with MR-Egger and weighted median (WM) as secondary methods. Sensitivity analysis included heterogeneity testing, horizontal multivariate testing, MR-PRESSO, and a "leaveone-out" method. Additionally, the F-statistic was utilized to assess the strength of instrumental variables, ensuring robust results. Results: In the TSMR analysis, this study found a significant causal relationship between genetically predicted gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and any stroke (AS), any ischemic stroke (AIS), large-artery atherosclerotic stroke (LAS), intracranial aneurysm (IA), and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). In MVMR analysis, this study found that even after adjusting for systolic blood pressure (SBP), body mass index (BMI) and type 2 diabetes (T2D), the causal relationship remains exist. In the two-step MR mediation analysis, it was found that BMI, SBP and T2D play mediating role in the causal relationship between GERD and cerebrovascular diseases. Conclusion: This study indicates a clear positive causal relationship between GERD and cerebrovascular diseases, and this causal association remains significant even after adjusting for BMI, SBP and T2D. Strip tillage is an effective tillage technique, which included the strip seedbed tilled area (ST-IR) and the straw-covered area between the seedbeds (ST-BR). However, soil hydrothermal conditions and soil disturbance varies with strip tillage widths, which might affect crop growth and yields. Therefore, this study explored the effect of strip tillage width on the soil hydrothermal conditions and soil structure of ST-IR and ST-BR, to determine the optimal strip tillage width. A field experiment with three replicates was conducted to analyze soil moisture and soil temperature variation and to clarify the difference of soil structure in the IR and BR. Three strip tillage widths, 20 cm (ST20), 30 cm (ST30), and 40 cm (ST40), were examined in this study. Soil temperature in both the ST-IR and ST-BR increased as the strip tillage width increased, and the average soil temperature of ST30-IR and ST40-IR in the seedling stage was 2.11°C and 2.62°C higherthan that of ST20-IR, respectively. Moreover, the daily soil temperature range in both the IR and BR was greater for ST40 than for ST20 and ST30 in the seedling stage; soil temperature differences in other crop growth stages were small. No significant difference in soil temperature was observed between ST30-IR and ST40-IR. Conversely, soil moisture was greater in ST20-IR and ST30-IR than in ST40-IR; soil moisture was also greater in ST30-BR and ST40-BR than in ST20-BR during the monitoring period. Soil moisture in ST40-IR and ST20-BR increased and decreased more rapidly during rainfall events than in the other treatments. Moreover, soil temperature was higher in the ST-IR than in the ST-BR for all 3 strip tillage widths, and the opposite results were observed for soil moisture. In addition, strip tillage widths had no significant differences on soil structure. In conclusion, a 30 cm strip tillage width had higher soil temperature and remained more soil moisture than other strip tillage widths, so this strip tillage width is thus recommended for use by farmers in Northeast China. Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious and economically important disease, which is caused by the FMD virus (FMDV). Although the cell receptor for FMDV has been identified, the specific mechanism of FMDV internalization after infection remains unknown. In this study, we found that kinesin family member 5B (KIF5B) plays a vital role during FMDV internalization. Moreover, we confirmed the interaction between KIF5B and FMDV structural protein VP1 by co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP) and co-localization in FMDV-infected cells. In particular, the stalk [amino acids (aa) 413-678] domain of KIF5B was indispensable for KIF5B-VP1 interaction. Moreover, overexpression of KIF5B dramatically enhanced FMDV replication; consistently, knockdown or knockout of KIF5B suppressed FMDV replication. Furthermore, we also demonstrated that KIF5B promotes the internalization of FMDV via regulating clathrin uncoating. KIF5B also promotes the transmission of viral particles to early and late endosomes during the early stages of infection. In conclusion, our results demonstrate that KIF5B promotes the internalization of FMDV via regulating clathrin uncoating and intracellular transport. Urothelial damage and barrier dysfunction emerge as the foremost mechanisms in Hunner‐type interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (HIC). Although treatments aimed at urothelial regeneration and repair have been employed, their therapeutic effectiveness remains limited due to the inadequate understanding of specific cell types involved in damage and the lack of specific molecular targets within these mechanisms. Therefore, we harnessed single‐cell RNA sequencing to elucidate the heterogeneity and developmental trajectory of urothelial cells within HIC bladders. Through reclustering, we identified eight distinct clusters of urothelial cells. There was a significant reduction in UPK3A+ umbrella cells and a simultaneous increase in progenitor‐like pluripotent cells (PPCs) within the HIC bladder. Pseudotime analysis of the urothelial cells in the HIC bladder revealed that cells faced challenges in differentiating into UPK3A+ umbrella cells, while PPCs exhibited substantial proliferation to compensate for the loss of UPK3A+ umbrella cells. The urothelium in HIC remains unrepaired, despite the substantial proliferation of PPCs. Thus, we propose that inhibiting the pivotal signaling pathways responsible for the injury to UPK3A+ umbrella cells is paramount for restoring the urothelial barrier and alleviating lower urinary tract symptoms in HIC patients. Subsequently, we identified key molecular pathways (TLR3 and NR2F6) associated with the injury of UPK3A+ umbrella cells in HIC urothelium. Finally, we conducted in vitro and in vivo experiments to confirm the potential of the TLR3–NR2F6 axis as a promising therapeutic target for HIC. Chronic hyperglycaemia is a chief feature of diabetes mellitus and complicates with many systematic anomalies. Non‐human primates (NHPs) are excellent for studying hyperglycaemia or diabetes and associated comorbidities, but lack behavioural observation. In the study, behavioural, brain imaging and histological analysis were performed in a case of spontaneously hyperglycaemic (HGM) Macaca fascicularis. The results were shown that the HGM monkey had persistent body weight loss, long‐term hyperglycaemia, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, but normal concentrations of insulin, C‐peptide, insulin autoantibody, islet cell antibody and glutamic acid decarboxylase antibody. Importantly, an impaired working memory in a delayed response task and neurological dysfunctions were found in the HGM monkey. The tendency for atrophy in hippocampus was observed by magnetic resonance imaging. Lenticular opacification, lens fibres disruptions and vacuole formation also occurred to the HGM monkey. The data suggested that the spontaneous HGM monkey might present diabetes‐like characteristics and associated neurobehavioral anomalies in this case. This study first reported cognitive deficits in a spontaneous hyperglycaemia NHPs, which might provide evidence to use macaque as a promising model for translational research in diabetes and neurological complications. Jingmen tick virus (JMTV) is a newly identified segmented flavivirus that has been recognized in multiple hosts, such as humans, buffalos, bats, rodents, mosquitos and ticks. Various clinical cases and studies manifested that JMTV is a true arbovirus with wide host spectrum and showed potential threats toward public health. JMTV has been reported in multiple countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, and America. Moreover, wild boars serve as an important intermediary between humans and the wild ecological system. In China, it has been reported in nine provinces, while the prevalence and the distribution of JMTV in most regions including Jiangxi Province are still unknown. Thus, to profile the distribution of JMTV in Jiangxi Province, an epidemiological investigation was carried out from 2020 to 2022. In current study, 66 ticks were collected from 17 wild boars in Jiangxi Province. The results showed that 12 out of 66 ticks were JMTV positive, indicating JMTV is prevalent in ticks and boars in Jiangxi Province. The genome sequences of JMTV strain WY01 were sequenced to profile viral evolution of JMTV in China. Phylogenetic analysis divided JMTV strains into two genotypes, Group I and Group II. WY01 belongs to Group II and it shares the closest evolutionary relationship with the Japan strains rather than the strains from neighboring provinces in China suggesting that JMTV might have complex transmission routes. Overall, current study, for the first time, reported that JMTV is prevalent in Jiangxi Province and provided additional information concerning JMTV distribution and evolution in China. Soil and groundwater contamination has always been a global concern. Contaminants are migrated and transformed in the soil and groundwater environments, which in turn pose potential environmental risks to humans. This paper describes four typical contaminants, including heavy metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, microplastics, and perfluorinated and polyfluoroalkyl substances. Based on a systematic summary of the sources, hazards, and migration behaviors of these four contaminants, various existing remediation methods are analyzed, and the advantages and disadvantages of different methods are discussed. Finally, the future research prospects of soil and groundwater remediation are described, and the significance of the study of contaminant migration and remediation in the subsurface environment is emphasized. This research can help to provide theoretical and technical support for the study of contaminant migration and removal in soil and groundwater environments, and further improve the removal rate in actual contaminant sites. Background: ASCVD is the primary cause of mortality in individuals with T2DM. A potential link between ASCVD and T2DM has been suggested, prompting further investigation. Methods: We utilized linear and multivariate logistic regression, Wilcoxon test, and Spearman's correlation toanalyzethe interrelation between ASCVD and T2DM in NHANES data from 2001-2018. The Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database and Weighted Gene Co-expression Network Analysis (WGCNA) wereconducted to identify co-expression networks between ASCVD and T2DM. Hub genes were identified using LASSO regression analysis and further validated in two additional cohorts. Bioinformatics methods were employed for gene ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analysis, along with the prediction of candidate small molecules. Results: Our analysis of the NHANES dataset indicated a significant impact of blood glucose on lipid levels within diabetic cohort, suggesting that abnormal lipid metabolism is a critical factor in ASCVD development. Cross-phenotyping analysis revealed two pivotal genes, ABCC5 and WDR7, associated with both T2DM and ASCVD. Enrichment analyses demonstrated the intertwining of lipid metabolism in both conditions, encompassing adipocytokine signaling pathway, fatty acid degradation and metabolism, and the regulation of adipocyte lipolysis. Immune infiltration analysis underscored the involvement of immune processes in both diseases. Notably, RITA, ON-01910, doxercalciferol, and topiramate emerged as potential therapeutic agents for both T2DM and ASCVD, indicating their possible clinical significance. Conclusion: Our findings pinpoint ABCC5 and WDR7 as new target genes between T2DM and ASCVD, with RITA, ON-01910, doxercalciferol, and topiramate highlighted as promising therapeutic agents. Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the major malignancies threatening human lives and health. Non-SMC condensin II complex subunit D3 (NCAPD3) plays a crucial role in the occurrence of many diseases. However, its role in GC remains unexplored. Materials and Methods: The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database, clinical samples, and cell lines were used to analyze NCAPD3 expression in GC. NCAPD3 was overexpressed and inhibited by lentiviral vectors and the CRISPR/Cas9 system, respectively. The biological functions of NCAPD3 were investigated in vitro and in vivo. Gene microarray, Gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) and ingenuity pathway analysis (IPA) were performed to establish the potential mechanisms. Results: NCAPD3 was highly expressed in GC and was associated with a poor prognosis. NCAPD3 upregulation significantly promoted the malignant biological behaviors of gastric cancer cell, while NCAPD3 inhibition exerted a opposite effect. NCAPD3 loss can directly inhibit CCND1 and ESR1 expression to downregulate the expression of downstream targets CDK6 and IRS1 and inhibit the proliferation of gastric cancer cells. Moreover, NCAPD3 loss activates IRF7 and DDIT3 to regulate apoptosis in gastric cancer cells. Conclusion: Our study revealed that NCAPD3 silencing attenuates malignant phenotypes of GC and that it is a potential target for GC treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
