This study aimed to develop a better and deeper understanding of the roles of Home Economics (HE) discipline in teaching cherished Filipino values and culture in program in secondary schools in Batangas Province. The study dealt on the significance of cherished Filipino cultural values that are reflected in Home Economics curriculum and some justifications why the Home economics discipline is the more appropriate discipline to teach cherished Filipino values and culture. Descriptive method of research was used in this study utilizing a researcher-made questionnaire. One hundred thirty nine (139) Home Economics teachers from public secondary schools were the respondents of the study. Social scientists have found that children growing up in various set up of families are disadvantaged or disoriented in other ways when compared to a two-biological-parent family. Many of these problems are directly related to the poor home management. It is believed that among the subject areas offered in basic secondary education, Home Economic offers the best avenue to address the pressing issues in the life among the young people. Thus, it is the interest of this study to determine the relevance and significance of cherished culture and values integrated in the Home Economic curriculum. Finding showed that Filipino culture is very significant in the teaching of Home Economics. Some recommendations were made to further enhance the inclusion of important teaching learning experiences in Home Economics curriculum based from Filipino cultural values. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
