The use of mobile devices has become pervasive in recent times, constituting an essential component of daily life. Mobile phones have enabled certain minorities to attain access to the Internet, news, and knowledge, thereby indicating their potential to reduce the digital divide experienced by ethnic groups and those from low socioeconomic backgrounds. This phenomenon has generated academic interest in the utilization of mobile devices to facilitate learning, as these devices merge the lines between computing and communications, giving access to both. The objective of this study is to ascertain the inclination of Peruvian higher education students to use mobile devices for learning. This will be achieved through the use of an anticipated model based on artificial neural networks (ANNs). ANNs are supervised machine learning techniques that imitate the organization and operation of the human brain to process data and render decisions. ANNs are computer systems that can learn from observation and experience, much like the human brain, and can subsequently use the acquired knowledge to recognize patterns and make predictions. The objective of this study is to assess the intention of Peruvian tertiary education students to employ mobile devices for learning by creating a predictive model that relies on ANNs. Among the main findings, it is evident that the ANN with optimal performance has 10 neurons within its hidden layer. Factors such as experience with virtual subjects, frequency of use, and coverage are crucial for the two intention variables. Digitization and the internet have been changing how companies and customers interact, forcing organizations to adapt more efficient services that generate value in the purchasing and communication processes. This research aims to identify key factors that influence satisfaction with the use of chatbots among young people from Colombia, based on 126 surveys administered via Google Forms. The methodological design adopted a quantitative approach, with an exploratory-descriptive scope that involved a structural equation model PLS-SEM of the survey data. The information analysis tested the hypotheses concerning the constructs of the conceptual model and chatbot user satisfaction by means of p value and path coefficients. The results suggest that there is an effect of robotic knowledge of use and resolution of pending cases on the perception of having access to up-to-date information during the chatbot experience. The main expectations regarding chatbot use were also identified, such as resolving the issue, being attended to quickly and the effectiveness of the service. This study also has practical implications for chatbot designers and developers in the governments of all countries, especially in developing countries like Colombia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The COVID-19 pandemic and the boom of fake news cluttering the internet have revealed the power of social media today. However, young people are not yet aware of their role in the digital age, even though they are the main users of social media. As a result, the belief that older adults are responsible for information is being re-evaluated. In light of this, the present study was aimed at identifying the factors associated with the spread of fake news among young people in Medellín (Colombia). A total of 404 self-administered questionnaires were processed in a sample of people between the ages of 18 and 34 and analyzed using statistical techniques, such as exploratory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. The results suggest that the instantaneous sharing of fake news is linked to people's desire to raise awareness among their inner circle, particularly when the messages shared are consistent with their perceptions and beliefs, or to the lack of time to properly verify their accuracy. Finally, passive corrective actions were found to have a less significant impact in the Colombian context than in the context of the original model, which may be explained by cultural factors. University dropout is a problem that has raised great concern in institutions of higher education. For this reason, academic institutions need to study the phenomenon and come up with alternatives that contribute to the improvement of students' individual commitments. The aim is to examine the dimensions influencing the decision of university students to drop out. A quantitative approach study was carried out, based on a cross-sectional exploratory-descriptive field design, in which 372 students participated. According to the participants, one of the dimensions that influence the decision to leave the university is the support of the institutions to the continuity of the motivation processes to the student body, since the easy access to the credits is greater than the scholarships granted, which coincides with the financing restrictions of university students in developing countries. In conclusion, it is observed that the communication between managers, teachers, and students is a key factor in the processes of academic retention as a strategy to combat the phenomenon of university desertion.
