Introduction: Dimenhydrinate and scopolamine are frequently used drugs, but they cause drowsiness and performance decrement. Therefore, it is crucial to find peripheral targets and develop new drugs without central side effects. This study aimed to investigate the anti-motion sickness action and inner ear-related mechanisms of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP). Methods: Endolymph volume in the inner ear was measured with magnetic resonance imaging and expression of AQP2 and p-AQP2 was detected with Western blot analysis and immunofluorescence method. Results: Both rotational stimulus and intraperitoneal arginine vasopressin (AVP) injection induced conditioned taste aversion (CTA) to 0.15% sodium saccharin solution and an increase in the endolymph volume of the inner ear. However, intraperitoneal injection of ANP effectively alleviated the CTA behaviour and reduced the increase in the endolymph volume after rotational stimulus. Intratympanic injection of ANP also inhibited rotational stimulus-induced CTA behaviour, but anantin peptide, an inhibitor of ANP receptor A (NPR-A), blocked this inhibitory effect of ANP. Both rotational stimulus and intraperitoneal AVP injection increased the expression of AQP2 and p-AQP2 in the inner ear of rats, but these increases were blunted by ANP injection. In in vitro experiments, ANP addition decreased AVP-induced increases in the expression and phosphorylation of AQP2 in cultured endolymphatic sac epithelial cells. Conclusion: Therefore, the present study suggests that ANP could alleviate motion sickness through regulating endolymph volume of the inner ear increased by AVP, and this action of ANP is potentially mediated by activating NPR-A and antagonising the increasing effect of AVP on AQP2 expression and phosphorylation. Taking advantage of the excellent host–guest complexation ability between an auxochrome (adamantane group) and CB[7], the fluorescence emission performance of dyes in water was effectively improved with the addition of two equivalents of CB[7], which provided an efficient method for increasing fluorescence intensity in aqueous environments. Liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) are highly specialized endothelial cells (ECs) that play an important role in liver development and regeneration. Additionally, it is involved in various pathological processes, including steatosis, inflammation, fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. However, the rapid dedifferentiation of LSECs after culture greatly limits their use in vitro modeling for biomedical applications. In this study, we developed a highly efficient protocol to induce LSEC-like cells from human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) in only 8 days. Using single-cell transcriptomic analysis, we identified several novel LSEC-specific markers, such as EPAS1, LIFR, and NID1, as well as several previously revealed markers, such as CLEC4M, CLEC1B, CRHBP and FCN3. These LSEC markers are specifically expressed in our LSEC-like cells. Furthermore, hiPSC-derived cells expressed LSEC-specific proteins and exhibited LSEC-related functions, such as the uptake of acetylated low density lipoprotein (ac-LDL) and immune complex endocytosis. Overall, this study confirmed that our novel protocol allowed hiPSCs to rapidly acquire an LSEC-like phenotype and function in vitro. The ability to generate LSECs efficiently and rapidly may help to more precisely mimic liver development and disease progression in a liver-specific multicellular microenvironment, offering new insights into the development of novel therapeutic strategies. C  i absorbers play an important role as indicators for exploring the presence of cold gas in the interstellar medium of galaxies. However, the current data base of C  i absorbers is very limited due to their weak absorption feature and rarity. Here, we report results from a search of C  i λλ1560, 1656 absorption lines using Mg  ii absorbers as signposts with modified deep learning algorithms, which provides a very quick way to search for weak C  i absorber candidates. A total of 107 C  i absorbers were detected, which nearly doubles the size of previously known samples. In addition, we found 17 C  i absorbers to be associated with 2175 Å dust absorbers (2DAs), i.e. about 16 per cent C  i absorbers are associated with 2DAs. Comparing the average dust depletion patterns of C  i absorbers with those of damped Lyman α absorbers (DLAs), Mg  ii absorbers, Ca  ii absorbers, and 2175 Å dust absorbers (2DAs) shows that C  i absorbers generally have environments with more dust than DLAs, Mg  ii , and Ca  ii absorbers, but similar to dust in 2DAs. Similarity between the dust depletion pattern of C  i absorbers to that of the warm disc in the Milky Way indicates that C  i absorption clouds are possibly associated with disc components in distant galaxies. Accurate load prediction is a prerequisite for the design, operation, scheduling, and management of energy systems. In the context of the development of smart grids, the extensive integration of highly volatile distributed energy generation into the power system has brought new challenges to the accuracy, reliability, real-time performance, and intelligence of short-term load forecasting. Therefore, this article proposes a novel short-term power load composite prediction model based on AM–CNN–Bi–LSTM. First, CNN is used to extract relevant feature quantities of power load coupling characteristics. Then, AM is used to evaluate the importance of the feature data, highlighting the features that have a greater impact on the prediction results. Finally, the Bi-LSTM network captures bidirectional temporal information from multiple time steps for prediction. Taking one year of measured data as an example, the error comparison of the prediction results of the composite prediction model overlay shows that compared with other models, the composite prediction model has improved prediction accuracy, feature extraction, generalization ability, and other aspects. The research results improve the accuracy of short-term power load forecasting while providing effective model references for decision-making in power system optimization scheduling, safe operation, and reasonable pricing. Aims: Excessive neuroinflammation mediated mainly by microglia plays a crucial role in ischemic stroke. AZD1390, an ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM) specific inhibitor, has been shown to promote radio‐sensitization and survival in central nervous system malignancies, while the role of AZD1390 in ischemic stroke remains unknown. Methods: Real‐time PCR, western blot, immunofluorescence staining, flow cytometry and enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assays were used to assess the activation of microglia and the release of inflammatory cytokines. Behavioral tests were performed to measure neurological deficits. 2,3,5‐Triphenyltetrazolium chloride staining was conducted to assess the infarct volume. The activation of NF‐κB signaling pathway was explored through immunofluorescence staining, western blot, co‐immunoprecipitation and proximity ligation assay. Results: The level of pro‐inflammation cytokines and activation of NF‐κB signaling pathway was suppressed by AZD1390 in vitro and in vivo. The behavior deficits and infarct size were partially restored with AZD1390 treatment in experimental stroke. AZD1390 restrict ubiquitylation and sumoylation of the essential regulatory subunit of NF‐κB (NEMO) in an ATM‐dependent and ATM‐independent way respectively, which reduced the activation of the NF‐κB pathway. Conclusion: AZD1390 suppressed NF‐κB signaling pathway to alleviate ischemic brain injury in experimental stroke, and attenuated microglia activation and neuroinflammation, which indicated that AZD1390 might be an attractive agent for the treatment of ischemic stroke. The aim of this study was to investigate the functional mechanism of Wuniuzao dark tea polysaccharide (WDTP) that protect against hyperlipidemia in mice induced by high-fat diet. WDTP was extracted by hot water, isolated and purified by DEAE-52 chromatography and characterized by high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Different doses (200 or 800 mg/kg/day) of WDTP were orally administered to mice induced by high-fat diet to evaluate the mechanism of WDTP regulating lipid metabolism. And these results showed that average molecular weight of WDTP was nearly 63,869 Da. And WDTP intervention significantly reduced body weight, lipid accumulation, and modulated blood lipid levels. The mechanism of WDTP ameliorating lipid metabolism was associated with regulating the expression of lipid metabolism-related genes and serum exosomes miR-19b-3p, and modulating the community structure of gut microbiota in mice. This paper presents GPFC, a novel Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) Phase Folding and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) system to detect exoplanets using the transit method. We devise a fast-folding algorithm parallelized on a GPU to amplify low signal-to-noise ratio transit signals, allowing a search at high precision and speed. A CNN trained on two million synthetic light curves reports a score indicating the likelihood of a planetary signal at each period. While the GPFC method has broad applicability across period ranges, this research specifically focuses on detecting ultrashort-period planets with orbital periods less than one day. GPFC improves on speed by three orders of magnitude over the predominant Box-fitting Least Squares (BLS) method. Our simulation results show GPFC achieves 97 per cent training accuracy, higher true positive rate at the same false positive rate of detection, and higher precision at the same recall rate when compared to BLS. GPFC recovers 100 per cent of known ultrashort-period planets in Kepler light curves from a blind search. These results highlight the promise of GPFC as an alternative approach to the traditional BLS algorithm for finding new transiting exoplanets in data taken with Kepler and other space transit missions such as K 2, TESS , and future PLATO and Earth 2.0. To meet the growing demand for communication capacity, new multi-carrier fiber optical communication technology has become the focus of scientific researchers' attention. The paper reviews the development process of traditional Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) in the field of fiber optical communication in the past 20 years and summarizes the relevant research on Filter Bank Multi Carrier (FBMC) and Universal Filter Multi Carrier (UFMC) in recent years. Since 2016, many scholars at home and abroad have focused on the drawbacks of OFDM in optical communication, such as high out-of-band leakage, reliance on Cyclic Prefixes (CP), high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) values, and high system synchronization requirements. They have been researching new multi-carrier systems as a breakthrough point. FBMC optical communication has the characteristics of the lowest sidelobe power and high spectral efficiency, but due to the use of Offset Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (OQAM), the corresponding Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithm needs to be redesigned or virtual part interference. UFMC optical communication has a strong tolerance for time synchronization deviation, and it is insensitive to frequency offset. Moreover, it can reuse the DSP algorithms of OFDM. However, there are also issues such as how to further suppress out-of-band power and reduce computational complexity. The construction of acyclic, non‐adjacent 1,3‐stereogenic centers, prevalent motifs in drugs and bioactive molecules, has been a long‐standing synthetic challenge due to acyclic nucleophiles being distant from the chiral environment. In this study, we successfully synthesized highly valuable 1,2‐bis(boronic) esters featuring acyclic and nonadjacent 1,3‐stereocenters. Notably, this reaction selectively produces migratory coupling products rather than alternative deborylative allylation or direct allylation byproducts. This approach introduces a new activation mode for selective transformations of gem‐diborylmethane in asymmetric catalysis. Additionally, we found that other gem‐diborylalkanes, previously challenging due to steric hindrance, also successfully participated in this reaction. The incorporation of 1,2‐bis(boryl)alkenes facilitated the diversification of the alkenyl and two boron moieties in our target compounds, thereby enabling access to a broad array of versatile molecules. Tobacco polysaccharides were extracted by hot water extraction, and purified and separated using DEAE-52 cellulose chromatography columns, and three purified polysaccharide fractions, YCT-1, YCT-2, and YCT-3, were finally obtained. The physicochemical properties of the three fractions were analyzed by ultraviolet spectroscopy, high-performance liquid chromatography and high-performance gel chromatography. The in vitro antioxidant activity of tobacco polysaccharides was compared among different fractions by using DPPH radical, hydroxyl radical scavenging assay and potassium ferricyanide method. The in vitro hypoglycemic activity was compared using α-amylase and α-glucosidase activity inhibition assay. And the in vitro hypolipidemic activity were investigated by using pancreatic lipase activity inhibition assay and HepG-2 intracellular lipid accumulation assay. All the results showed that the constituent monosaccharides of the three tobacco polysaccharide fractions were similar, but the molar percentages of each monosaccharide were different. The average molecular weights of the three components were 27,727 Da, 27,587 Da, and 66,517 Da, respectively, and the scavenging activities on DPPH radicals and hydroxyl radicals were at a high level with good quantitative-effect relationships. The reducing power were much lower than that of the positive control VC, and the three polysaccharide fractions had a weak inhibitory ability on α-amylase activity, but showed excellent inhibitory ability on α-glucosidase and pancreatic lipase activity. In addition, the results of cellular experiments showed that all three fractions were able to inhibit lipid over-accumulation in HepG-2 cells by increasing the mRNA expression levels of PPAR-α, CPT-1A, and CYP7A1 genes, and the tobacco polysaccharide YCT-3 showed the best effect. The mechanism by which YCT-3 ameliorated the over-accumulation of intracellular lipids in HepG-2 cells was found to be related to its influence on the expression of miR-155-3p and miR-17-3p in the exosomes of HepG-2 cells. There is growing evidence of the high transmission potential of COVID-19 through virus-laden aerosols. Because aerosols are inhaled in various concentrations, an overall assessment of transmission risks at different indoor scales is crucial. However, a comprehensive risk assessment method that evaluates the direct link between short-range and room-scale zones is still lacking. In this paper, a risk assessment model combining both short-range and room-scale effects is developed to obtain effective reproduction number in confined indoor environments, called Turbulent Jet Wells Riley (TJWR) model. Combined with the viral load data and aerosol generation data of different human respiratory activities, the Monte Carlo simulation method is applied to calculate the quanta emission rate, which further provides the input parameters of the TJWR model. Three known outbreaks (Hangzhou banquet hall X, Guangzhou restaurant Y, and Hong Kong restaurant Z, China) are chosen to validate the TJWR model. Results show that the TJWR model is more efficient than the original Wells-Riley model. The average relative error of the TJWR model ranges between 9% and 44%, while for the Wells-Riley model, it ranges between 57% and 78%. The TJWR model also proves that infection risk assessments using the well-mixed assumption can systematically underestimate the transmission risk for those close to the source. Additionally, there is a significant positive linear correlation between the total number of exposed individuals at the short-range and the effective reproduction number. Background: The patients with multisystem and risk organ involvement Langerhans cell histiocytosis (MS-RO + LCH) have poor prognosis. The patients with MS-LCH who failed front-line therapy have a high mortality rate and the standard salvage treatment has not been established. The combination of cytarabine (Ara-c), vincristine (VCR) and prednisone might be effective for refractory/relapse MS-RO + LCH, with low toxicity. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed pediatric refractory/relapse MS-RO + LCH patients treated with the low-dose Ara-c (100mg/m2/d×5days) or high-dose Ara-c (500mg/m2/d×5days) combined with vindesine (VDS) and prednisone in a single center. The efficacy, outcomes and adverse events were analyzed. Results: From January 2013 to December 2016, 13 patients receiving the low-dose Ara-c chemotherapy (LAC) and 7 patients receiving the high-dose Ara-c chemotherapy (HAC) were included in the study. 11 (84.6%) of the 13 patients treated with the LAC regimen and 6 (85.7%) of the 7 patients treated with the HAC regimen had response after four courses of the therapy. All patients in the study were alive during follow-up and the 3-year event-free survival rate (EFS) was 53.7% and 85.7% in the LAC and HAC groups. The most frequent adverse event was Grade 1/2 myelosuppression, which was observed in 38.5% (5/13) and 42.9% (3/7) of the patients receiving the LAC and HAC regimen. Conclusions: A combination of Ara-c, VDS and prednisone was effective and safe for some patients with refractory/relapse MS-RO + LCH. In this study, we consider the finite time stability (FTS) and finite time contractive stability (FTCS) of the stochastic functional systems. For the framework of Lyapunov-Ruzumikhin method, the sufficient conditions of FTS and FTCS are given first. Then the theory is applied to FTS and FTCS of linear time-varying stochastic functional systems. Background: The European LeukemiaNet (ELN) risk classification system for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients has been used worldwide. In 2022, the ELN risk classification system modified risk genes including CEBPA mutation status, myelodysplasia‐related (MR) gene mutations and internal tandem duplications of FLT3 (FLT3‐ITD). Methods: We include newly diagnosed de novo AML patients at our center from January 2017 to December 2021, regardless of the further treatment received. Clinical data and date of survival were included. Survival analysis were performed using the Kaplan–Meier method, and the log‐rank test was used to compare survival between different risk groups. Results: We include 363 newly diagnosed de novo AML patients from 2017 to 2021 to assess the accuracy of the ELN risk classification system. Their survival results show that the ELN‐2022 risk classification system is not superior to the ELN‐2017 version; for patients with FLT3‐ITD mutations but without FLT3 inhibitor treatment, their survival is similar to the ELN‐2022 adverse risk group. The ELN‐2022 risk classification system cannot accurately clarify ECOG performance status (PS) 2–4 patients, especially in the ELN‐2022 favorable risk group. Conclusion: The ELN‐2022 risk stratification system may not be appropriate for patients unable to receive intensive therapy or FLT3 inhibitor; more real‐world data is needed to straify patients with worse ECOG PS and inferior intensive therapy. High-resolution urban surface information, e.g., the fraction of impervious/pervious surface, is pivotal in studies of local thermal/wind environments and air pollution. In this study, we introduced and validated a domain adaptive land cover classification model, to automatically classify Google Earth images into pixel-based land cover maps. By combining domain adaptation (DA) and semi-supervised learning (SSL) techniques, our model demonstrates its effectiveness even when trained with a limited dataset derived from Gaofen2 (GF2) satellite images. The model's overall accuracy on the translated GF2 dataset improved significantly from 19.5% to 75.2%, and on the Google Earth image dataset from 23.1% to 61.5%. The overall accuracy is 2.9% and 3.4% higher than when using only DA. Furthermore, with this model, we derived land cover maps and investigated the impact of land surface composition on the local meteorological parameters and air pollutant concentrations in the three most developed urban agglomerations in China, i.e., Beijing, Shanghai and the Great Bay Area (GBA). Our correlation analysis reveals that air temperature exhibits a strong positive correlation with neighboring artificial impervious surfaces, with Pearson correlation coefficients higher than 0.6 in all areas except during the spring in the GBA. However, the correlation between air pollutants and land surface composition is notably weaker and more variable. The primary contribution of this paper is to provide an efficient method for urban land cover extraction which will be of great value for assessing the urban surface composition, quantifying the impact of land use/land cover, and facilitating the development of informed policies. Periplaneta americana L. (Blattariae) is used as a treatment for ulcerative colitis (UC) in Chinese traditional medicine. To evaluate the antioxidative activity of P. americana whole body ethanol extract (PAE) on UC mice and whether glycine and proline could be used for quality control and identification of active PAE components. NCM460 cells were pre-incubated in PAE, AA-L, AA-M, and AA-H (low, high and medium doses of proline and glycine), then treated with recombinant human TNF-α. The glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and reactive oxygen (ROS) levels were determined. UC mice were fed with water containing 2.5% dextran sulfate sodium (w/v) after pre-treatment with different doses of PAE once a day for 7 days. ELISA was used to detect the concentrations of inflammation-related factors. Colon tissues of mice were used to detect the activity of myeloperoxidase (MPO), GSH, MDA, and SOD. Histological changes were observed using H&E staining. The expression of target proteins was determined by western blotting. In vivo, PAE treatment reduced the DAI score more than in the model group, restoring the weight and colonic length. It also reduced the severity of colitis, and inflammatory and oxidative stress intensity. Additionally, western blotting showed that the Nrf2 pathway was activated by PAE. In vitro PAE significantly alleviated TNF-α-induced cell damage and oxidative stress, which is relevant to the activation of the Nrf2 pathway. PAE may relieve oxidative stress through the Nrf2 signaling pathway, and proline and glycine may be used as active components of its antioxidative stress activity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is the most common malignant hematological disease originating from hematopoietic stem cells. Endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERs) has been reported to be involved in multiple tumor-related biological processes. However, the prognostic role of ERs-related genes in AML has not been fully investigated. The TCGA-LAML RNA-seq dataset was downloaded from the UCSC Xena website as the training cohort. Univariate Cox regression analysis was used to identify 42 ER stress-related genes associated with prognosis. Then, a ERs risk score prognostic model was established through LASSO regression analysis. AML patients were divided into high- and low-risk groups according to the median risk score. The Kaplan-Meier survival curve, time ROC curve analysis and univariate and multivariate independent prognostic analyses were presented for the high- and low-risk groups. Moreover, we verified the ERs risk model in the TARGET-AML and GSE37642 datasets. Next, we performed immune cell infiltration analysis, immune checkpoint gene expression analysis and drug sensitivity analysis. We found 42 ER stress-related genes with prognostic significance, and a prognostic model consisting of 13 genes was constructed and verified. The survival rate of AML patients in the low-risk group was better than that in the high-risk group. The tumor microenvironment and immune cell infiltration results showed that immune cell infiltration was correlated with the survival status of patients. This research identified a ERs risk model with significant prognostic value. The fluorescence of functional dyes was generally quenched in aqueous solution, which hindered their application in water‐bearing detections. In this work, a novel strategy based on host‐guest interaction was provided for the purpose of fluorescence enhancement in aqueous solution and cell imaging. Three adamantane‐modified fluorescent dyes (Coum‐Ad, NP‐Ad, NR‐Ad) with coumarin, 1,8‐naphthalimide and Nile Red as fluorophores were initially designed and prepared. The ((adamantan‐1‐yl)methyl)amino group, as the auxochrome of those dyes, complexed with methylated β‐cyclodextrin (M‐β‐CD) via supramolecular interaction, and then fluorescent supramolecular nanoparticles (FSNPs) were formed by self‐assembly in water. The inclusion equilibrium constant (K) could be as high as 3.94×104 M−1. With the addition of M‐β‐CD, fluorescence quantum yields of these dyes were separately improved to 69.8 %, 32.9 % and 41.3 %. Inspired by the above satisfactory results, six adamantane‐modified probes organelle‐NPAds with organelle‐targeting capability were further obtained. As the formation of hydrogen bonds between organelle‐NPAd2 and M‐β‐CD verified by theoretical calculation, K of organelle‐NPAd2 (5.13×104 M−1~4.53×105 M−1) with M‐β‐CD was higher than that of organelle‐NPAd1 (1.15×104 M−1~3.66×104 M−1) and their fluorescence quantum yields increased to 32.8 %~83.6 % in aqueous solution. Background Although depression has been a serious neuropsychiatric disorder worldwide, current antidepressants used in clinical practice have various weaknesses, including delayed onset and low rates of efficacy. Recently, the development of new antidepressants from natural herbal medicine has become one of the important research hotspots. Cucurbitacin B is a natural compound widely distributed in the Cucurbitaceae and Cruciferae families and has many pharmacological activities. The present study aimed to investigate whether cucurbitacin B possess antidepressant-like effects in mice. Methods The antidepressant-like effects of cucurbitacin B on mice behaviors were explored using the forced swim test, tail suspension test, open field test, sucrose preference test, and a chronic unpredictable mild stress model of depression together. Then, western blotting and immunofluorescence were used to examine the effects of cucurbitacin B on the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)-tyrosine kinase B (TrkB) signaling cascade and neurogenesis in the hippocampus of mice. Furthermore, BDNF-short hairpin RNA, K252a, and p-chlorophenylalanine methyl ester were adopted together to determine the antidepressant mechanism of cucurbitacin B. Results It was found that administration of cucurbitacin B indeed produced notable antidepressant-like effects in mice, which were accompanied with significant promotion in both the hippocampal BDNF-TrkB pathway and neurogenesis. The antidepressant mechanism of cucurbitacin B involves the hippocampal BDNF-TrkB system but not the serotonin system. A series of viscosity probes targeting different organelles were obtained using a single hemicyanine dye as the matrix structure. Specifically, probes 1a–d were obtained by introducing four amines (6-amino-2H-chromen-2-one, N-(2-aminoethyl)-4-methylbenzenesulfonamide, dodecan-1-amine and N,N diphenylbenzene-1,4-diamine) into the indole hemicyanine dye of the carboxylic acid with a D–π-A structure. Their maximum absorption wavelengths were in the range 570–586 nm and they had relatively large molar absorption coefficients, while their maximum emission wavelengths in the red light region were in the range 596–611 nm. Moreover, their fluorescence intensity in glycerol was 35–184 times higher than that in phosphate buffer solution (PBS). The lg(Fl) and lg η of probes 1a–d showed good linearity with high correlation coefficients according to the Förster–Hoffman equation. In addition, cell staining experiments demonstrated that 1a–c could target lysosomes, endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria, respectively. The gearbox is widely applied as the mechanical transmission system of intelligent manufacturing systems, such as machine tools and robotics. The harsh working environments make the gear surface prone to wear. The progression of surface wear can bring severe failures to the gear tooth, including gear tooth root crack, surface spalling of gear tooth, and tooth breaking, all of which could damage the whole transmission system. Hence, it is essential to monitor and evaluate the gear surface wear propagation. The gear wear has been proven highly relevant with the vibration second-order cyclostationary (CS2) characteristics. Therefore, this paper develops a novel cyclostationarity-based framework to monitor and evaluate gear wear propagation. More specifically, the squared envelope (SE) of the residual signal, removing deterministic components, is utilized to identify the gear wear distribution and its propagation trends, validated using the measured gear surface morphology. Moreover, a new CS2-based indicator is proposed to assess the severity of gear surface wear, achieving a high correlation with measured surface roughness: R 2 is more than 0.9. The developed cyclostationarity-based framework can comprehensively evaluate the degradation status of the gear system caused by surface wear, significantly benefiting the health management of the gear transmission system, which is of great practical value for the health management of intelligent manufacturing systems. A series of endurance tests are conducted to verify the effectiveness and superiority of the developed framework for gear wear monitoring compared with the conventional indicators. Four 1,8-naphthyridine derivatives (1a–1d) with different organelle targeting abilities were obtained using the Knoevenagel condensation reaction of 1,8-naphthyridine with 4-(N,N-diethylamino)benzaldehyde (2a), 4-(N,N-diphenylamino)benzaldehyde (2b), 4-(piperazin-1-yl)benzaldehyde (2c) and 4-(ethyl(4-formylphenyl)amino)-N-(2-((4-methylphenyl)sulfonamido)ethyl)butanamide (2d), respectively. The maximal absorption bands of dyes 1a–1d were observed at 375–447 nm, while their maximum emission peaks were situated at 495–605 nm. The optical properties showed that the fluorescence emission of dyes 1a–1d is shifted toward greater wavelengths as the system polarity (Δf) increased. Meanwhile, with increasing polarity of the mixed 1,4-dioxane/H2O system, the fluorescence intensity of dyes 1a–1d gradually decreased. Furthermore, the fluorescence intensity of 1a–1d enhanced by 12–239 fold as the polarity of 1,4-dioxane/H2O mixtures declined. 1a–1d had a large Stokes shift (up to 229 nm) in polar solvents in comparison to nonpolar solvents. The colocalization imaging experiments demonstrated that dyes 1a–1d (3–10 μM) were located in mitochondria, lipid droplets, lysosomes and the endoplasmic reticulum in living HeLa cells, respectively; and they could monitor the polarity fluctuation of the corresponding organelles. Consequently, this work proposes a molecular design idea with different organelle targeting capabilities based on the same new fluorophore, and this molecular design idea may provide more alternatives for polarity-sensitive fluorescent probes with organelle targeting. Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the number one health threat globally. Adverse indoor thermal environments are associated with excess mortality caused by CVDs in the cold season. While many studies have focused on the impact of indoor temperature on CVDs, none has considered the fluctuation of indoor temperature. To quantify the effect of indoor temperature on blood pressure and the effect of indoor temperature fluctuation on blood pressure variability (BPV), 172 middle-aged and elderly people in areas that experience both hot summers and cold winters in China completed a household survey regarding their characteristics and living habits. A hierarchical linear model (HLM) was used to analyze the impact of indoor temperature on home blood pressure. A multiple linear model was used to analyze the effect of indoor temperature fluctuation on day-to-day home blood pressure variability. The results showed that there was a significant negative correlation between morning temperature below 18 °C and blood pressure, especially systolic blood pressure (SBP). At the same time, morning temperature fluctuations have an independent influence on BPV, and a deviation of morning temperature fluctuation greater than 1.1 °C significantly increased BPV. Morning temperature and its fluctuation threshold for the rise of SBP and its variability of middle-aged and elderly people were clarified, which can provide a basis for the design, operation, and evaluation of residential thermal environmental health performance for the middle-aged and elderly population in this area, thereby reducing the cardiovascular health risk of the corresponding population. Aims: Oxygen therapy plays a vital role in the development of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), which is the independent risk factor for neurodevelopment deficits in premature infants. However, the effect of hippocampal cyclin‐dependent kinase 5 (CDK5) on BPD‐associated neurodevelopment deficits is not fully understood. Methods: Mice were placed in a hyperoxia chamber from postnatal Day 1 to Day 7. Hematoxylin and eosin staining was used to evaluate the lung histomorphological characteristics. Learning and memory functions of mice were detected by Morris water maze. TUNEL staining was applied to measure the number of apoptotic cells. The expression of CDK5, apoptosis‐related protein, and neuroplasticity‐related proteins were analyzed by Western blot. Golgi staining was used to assess the structure of dendritic spines. Results: Hyperoxia‐induced BPD mice showed a long‐term learning and memory dysfunction, more severe neuronal apoptosis, and a decline of synaptic plasticity. Inhibition of CDK5 overactivation ameliorated cognitive deficits, neuronal apoptosis, and synaptic plasticity disorders in BPD mice. Conclusions: This study first found a vital role of CDK5 in BPD‐associated neurodevelopmental disorders. Inhibition of CDK5 overexpression could effectively improve cognitive dysfunctions in BPD mice, which indicated that hippocampal CDK5 may be a new target for prevention and treatment in learning and memory dysfunction of BPD. Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) therapies have been significantly improved by the development of medicines that can target BCL-2. On the other hand, non-recurrent alterations in oncogenic pathways and gene expression patterns have already been linked to therapeutic resistance to venetoclax therapy. Bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (BM-MSCs) support leukemic cells in preventing chemotherapy-induced apoptosis by mitochondrial transfer in leukemic microenvironment. In this study, we investigated the enhancement of the antitumor effect of BCL-2 inhibitor venetoclax by dexamethasone. In particular, dexamethasone had no significant effect on the viability of AML cells, but dexamethasone combined with venetoclax could significantly increase the apoptosis of AML cells induced by venetoclax. When AML cells were co-cultured with BM-MSCs, dexamethasone combined with venetoclax showed additional anti-tumor effect compared to venetoclax alone. Venetoclax increased reactive oxygen species level in co-cultured AML cells, contributed to transfer more mitochondria from BM-MSCs to AML cells and protect AML cells from apoptosis. Dexamethasone combined with venetoclax induced more apoptosis, but dexamethasone reduced the venetoclax-induced reactive oxygen species level in AML cells and reduced the transfer of mitochondria from BM-MSCs to AML cells. This may lead to a diminished protective effect of BM-MSCs on AML cells. Together, our findings indicated that venetoclax in combination with dexamethasone could be a promising therapy in AML. The number of urban vitality assessment studies is rising continuously, owing to the emergence of geographic data. The current literature focuses primarily on evaluation, rather than implementation, of urban vitality. Hence, a scoping review and research agenda are needed for urban vitality research to be more practical. This study aims to fill the research gap by exploring the content and methods of vitality assessment that can make urban vitality research more compatible with policy, planning, and design practice. We chose the neighborhood scale, which is the most practical initiative unit for vitality enhancement. We discovered that the gaps between the current research and practice primarily lie in the diversity of research subjects, the authenticity and comprehensiveness of vitality measurement, and the multi-domain of impact factor analysis. On this basis, we classified the following expandable aspects: (1) multi-type, multi-dimensional, multi-temporal, and implementation-adaptive vitality evaluation; (2) methods reflecting high-quality social interactions and the perceptions of vulnerable groups; (3) how design and urban management impacts vitality; and (4) the synergistic effects of multiple indicators on vitality. Overall, the research content and methodology presented in this paper can help neighborhood-scale vitality assessment to provide more meaningful insights for policy makers and practitioners. In iron-based superconductors, zero-energy states in vortices have been reported as potential Majorana bound states, but the evidence remains controversial. Here, we use scanning tunneling noise spectroscopy to study the tunneling process into vortex bound states in the conventional superconductor NbSe2, and in the putative Majorana platform FeTe0.55Se0.45. We find that tunneling into vortex bound states in both cases exhibits charge transfer of a single electron charge. Our data for the zero-energy bound states in FeTe0.55Se0.45 exclude the possibility of Yu–Shiba–Rusinov states and are consistent with both Majorana bound states and trivial vortex bound states. Our results open an avenue for investigating the exotic states in vortex cores and for future Majorana devices, although further theoretical investigations involving charge dynamics and superconducting tips are necessary. Improving vitality has been a major bottleneck in the revitalization of traditional village heritage worldwide. The vitality of traditional village (VTV) varies greatly depending on socioeconomic factors and natural conditions. Significant spatial variation exists in VTV, even within the same urban jurisdictions in China; however, the main determinants for this have not yet been quantified owing to the difficulty of obtaining data from large rural samples, making targeted invigoration difficult. Thus, we applied point of interest data, which are easily accessible big data, to bridge the data source gap. To assess the VTV's influencing factors and analyze the spatial variations among the factors' impacting intensity, we used the Ordinary Least Squares and Geographically Weighted Regression models and conducted empirical studies involving 148 traditional villages in Lishui, China. Seven factors influenced the vitality of traditional villages in the study area, with the most significant being topographic relief, elevation, scenic spots and commercial industry. Moreover, the factors' impacting intensity varied by region. Topographic relief and elevation had the greatest impact intensity in the north and south of Lishui, whereas primary education, transportation facility and agricultural bases had the greatest impact in the north, and scenic spots and commercial industry had the greatest impact in the middle of Lishui. Taken together, this method makes a large sample of VTV's impact factor analysis feasible, has global implications, and can provide a foundation for the scientific and precise regional promotion of VTV, which is beneficial for rural heritage revitalization. Magnetic anomaly detection technologies have been widely used for tracking moving targets. In this paper, we present a fast-tracking method for magnetic abnormalities using a distributed Overhauser magnetometer system based on the genetic algorithm. Our proposed framework of the Overhauser magnetometer system employs multiple sensors to eliminate background interference, and the genetic algorithm efficiently solves magnetic anomaly data without requiring the derivation of the objective function. Test platforms were built to evaluate the distributed Overhauser magnetometer system and the genetic algorithm. Results from the natural outdoor magnetism laboratories showed that the noise of our presented magnetometers was below 0.134 nT. The optimal factors for solution precision and effectiveness in the genetic algorithm were obtained from the simulation. Moreover, the outdoor tracking experiments indicated that the proposed method could accurately and quickly detect the moving ferromagnetic object within 6.9% maximum positioning error in 0.55 m, and the tracking precision of the object velocity can get 5.88% maximum error in 4.33 km/h. In a coil magnetometer, the size and uniformity of the bias magnetic field generated by the Helmholtz coil directly determine the accuracy of the solution of the geomagnetic direction. The design of traditional spherical coils relies heavily on the manual experience or mathematical derivation, making it difficult to obtain optimal parameters or requiring larger spherical coils. To address the problem, first, a coaxial symmetrical spherical coil model that improves space utilization was established. Second, an optimal design method for the spherical magnetic field generation coil based on a differential evolution algorithm was proposed. Third, the optimal bias magnetic field was obtained without increasing the volume of the coil. The verification results showed that the magnetic non-uniformity and magnetic gradient of the bias field generated by the optimized coil were reduced by 63.2% and 82.8%, respectively. A conjecture of Burns and Knieper (1991) asks whether a 2-plane with a metric without conjugate points, and with a geodesic foliation whose lines are at bounded Hausdorff distance, is necessarily flat. We prove this conjecture in two cases: under the hypothesis that the plane admits total curvature, and under the hypothesis of visibility at some point. Two chromenoquinoline-based fluorescent probes 1a-b have been synthesized and investigated. Photofading behaviors of compounds 1a-b showed that at least 89% absorption remained after 6 h irradiating, meanwhile, many of ions and amino acids had negligible impacts on their fluorescence intensity, which meant they had excellent photostability and selectivity. Probes 1a-b exhibited strong absorption and emission in organic solvents with large fluorescence quantum yields, even in water probe 1a still had a relatively large fluorescence quantum yield (20%). Combined with DFT calculation, the influence of alkylation on optical properties of 1b was elucidated. In addition, the fluorescence intensity of probe 1b with red emission enhanced by 5.4-fold and 5.3-fold after DNA and RNA added, and the fluorescence quantum yield increased from 3% to 17% and 14%, respectively, but the neutral molecule 1a had no response to nucleic acid. Furthermore, confocal microscopy imaging of probes 1a-b showed that 1a targeted lipid droplets while the methylated probe 1b to nucleus in living HeLa cells. The results indicated that the subcellular targeting zone could be changed by alkylation of nitrogen atom on chromenoquinoline-based conveniently, which provided a new idea for designing and synthesizing new subcellular labeled probes.
