Purpose: To analyze the risk of dental implant failure for patients with a history of antidepressant use through a systematic review and meta-analysis. Materials and Methods: An electronic search was performed up to June 2023 in three databases including PubMed/MEDLINE, Web of Science, and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials; data on the comparison of implant failure rate for patients with and without the use of antidepressants were included. Meta-analyses for the risk ratio of implant failure rate at patient level and implant level were performed. Results: Overall, 11 clinical studies were selected for inclusion in this review. The meta-analyses showed a risk ratio of 2.44 (95% CI = 1.75 to 3.39; P < .0001) and 2.44 (95% CI = 1.73 to 3.46; P < .0001) for the implant failure at patient level and implant level, respectively. The comparisons presented a low heterogeneity for the patient-level analysis and a moderate heterogeneity for the implant-level analysis among the pooled studies. Subgroup analyses also revealed that patients who received only selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) or SSRIs with other types of antidepressants had a higher risk of implant failure than those who were not on any antidepressants. Conclusions: The current review demonstrates that the use of antidepressants such as SSRIs may increase the risk of dental implant failure at both patient level and implant level. Although limited evidence suggests that a certain type of SSRI (sertraline) may have more influence on implant failure than other SSRIs, future studies are needed to confirm this finding. Stent implantation effectively relieves coronary artery disease (CAD), and post-surgery cardiac rehabilitation is essential for prognosis. This study aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of patients undergoing coronary artery stenting regarding cardiac rehabilitation. Conducted in multiple hospitals from December 2023 to January 2024, a self-administered questionnaire collected demographic information and KAP scores. A total of 452 valid subjects were included, with 262 participating in cardiac rehabilitation. The average age was 56.76 ± 12.97 years, with 57.52% male and 72.35% urban residents. Mean KAP scores were 14.63 ± 4.70 (knowledge), 37.50 ± 4.15 (attitude), and 30.96 ± 4.49 (practice). Positive correlations were found between KAP scores (r = 0.378–0.474, P < 0.001). Urban residence, angina, and myocardial infarction diagnoses were positively associated with knowledge (OR = 1.881–3.192, P < 0.05). Conversely, medical insurance, continued drinking post-implantation, and other underlying diseases were negatively associated (OR = 0.193–0.592, P < 0.05). Myocardial infarction diagnosis (OR = 2.059, P = 0.026) and health education (OR = 1.830, P = 0.018) positively influenced attitudes. Medical insurance was associated with practice (OR = 4.567, P = 0.028). Patients showed moderate knowledge and positive attitudes towards cardiac rehabilitation, highlighting the need for educational interventions for rural residents and individuals who did not initiate rehabilitation. Low-salinity water (LSW) and CO2 could be combined to perform better in a hydrocarbon reservoir due to their synergistic advantages for enhanced oil recovery (EOR); however, its microscopic recovery mechanisms have not been well understood due to the nature of these two fluids and their physical reactions in the presence of reservoir fluids and porous media. In this work, well-designed and integrated experiments have been performed for the first time to characterize the in-situ formation of micro-dispersions and identify their EOR roles during a LSW-alternating-CO2 (CO2-LSWAG) process under various conditions. Firstly, by measuring water concentration and performing the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) analysis, the in-situ formation of micro-dispersions induced by polar and acidic materials was identified. Then, displacement experiments combining with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis were performed with two crude oil samples, during which wettability, interfacial tension (IFT), CO2 dissolution, and CO2 diffusion were quantified. During a CO2-LSWAG process, the in-situ formed micro-dispersions dictate the oil recovery, while the presence of clay minerals, electrical double-layer (EDL) expansion and multiple ion exchange (MIE) are found to contribute less. Such formed micro-dispersions are induced by CO2 via diffusion to mobilize the CO2-diluted oil, alter the rock wettability towards more water-wet, and minimize the density contrast between crude oil and water. Background: Due to the unique geographical and climatic conditions in Nagqu (Tibet), the blood station laboratory was only fully established and accredited by 2020. This study validated the performance of the laboratory's blood screening system and analyzed recent trends in blood donation and screening effectiveness. Methods: Various serum samples were used to assess the performance of hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV, and syphilis tests, both serological and nucleic acid tests. Donation data were also collected and analyzed. Results: Serological testing demonstrated excellent sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility (all 100%), with detection limits for HBsAg, HCV Ab, HIV-1 Ab, HIV-1 p24, and TP Ab of 0.2 IU/mL, 0.013 NCU/mL, 0.25 NCU/mL, 1.25 U/mL, and 1.5 mIU/mL, respectively. Nucleic acid testing systems also achieved 100% reproducibility with precision below 5%. PROBIT analysis revealed the 95% detection limits for HBV DNA, HCV RNA, and HIV-1 RNA as 8.29, 97.14, and 40.52 IU/mL, respectively. The study also found a high rate of unqualified donations for local markers such as ALT, HBsAg, syphilis, and HBV DNA. Conclusions: The validation confirmed the screening system's high sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility, highlighting the importance of effective pre-donation checks to ensure a safe blood supply in high-altitude areas. Safety design is a critical concern for energetic materials, with sensitivities and performance parameters becoming increasingly important as energy density rises. However, obtaining experimental data for these properties is costly and risky. Although linear methods and neural networks have been applied to predict these properties, the limited sample size of experimental data has led to models with limitations, including inadequate accuracy, lack of effective predictive models, and inevitable reliance on experimental properties. To address these challenges, this study utilizes kernel methods and heuristic algorithms, including Genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization, to develop effective models for predicting the impact sensitivity, electric spark sensitivity, and detonation velocity of energetic materials. After optimizing the modeling process with Particle Swarm Optimization, the models achieved R2 values of 0.871, 0.898, and 0.942 on the test sets, respectively, surpassing those of neural network models, with R2 values of 0.827, 0.826, and 0.909, and support vector regression models, with R2 values of 0.822, 0.862, and 0.894. The proposed models significantly improve the accuracy of impact sensitivity predictions and, for the first time, offer an effective model for predicting electric spark sensitivity. By being entirely based on computational descriptors, these models expand the application range compared to previous empirical formulas. This Letter demonstrates AlGaN/GaN high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMTs) with Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 (HZO) ferroelectric gate dielectric using pulsed laser deposition (PLD). An ultrathin Al2O3 interlayer grown by atomic layer deposition is used to avoid destroying the AlGaN surface and decreasing the electron density of a two-dimensional electron gas channel before PLD. The high-quality HZO on AlGaN/GaN heterostructure contributes to the good insulating and ferroelectric properties of the HZO film, yielding a superior ON/OFF current ratio of 4 × 1011 and a low sub-threshold slope (SS) of 53.2 mV/dec. Moreover, the electrical characteristics of the device are systematically investigated before and after gate poling. In combination with the analysis of schematic band diagrams, we found that ferroelectric polarization can effectively regulate the capture and release processes of channel electrons by Al2O3/AlGaN interface defects. Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine and metabolic disorder in premenopausal women, often linked to abdominal obesity, insulin resistance, and metabolic issues. With its heterogeneous nature, PCOS treatment should be tailored to individual symptoms and patient preferences. This study examines collaboration networks among countries, institutions, authors, references, and journals related to PCOS treatment. Methods: Web of Science data was analyzed using VOSviewer and CiteSpace for bibliometric visualization. Chinese and Western medicine treatments for PCOS were reviewed, emphasizing symptom-targeted solutions. Results: Data from 4682 records authored by 400 individuals from 515 institutes in 62 countries revealed China as the leading contributor. Notable authors include Monash University and Richard S. Legro. Common research themes include adipocytes, inflammation, insulin sensitivity, oxidative stress, and the gut microbiome. Tailoring treatment to individual needs is essential, focusing on hyperandrogenism, ovulation, and insulin resistance, with lifestyle counseling to address obesity. Conclusion: This bibliometric analysis provides valuable insights into the research status of PCOS treatment. China has made significant contributions, and complementary and alternative therapies, such as traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, have also shown beneficial effects recently. The research on inflammation, oxidative stress, and the gut microbiome may provide new targets and strategies for the treatment of PCOS. This paper investigates the asymmetric cointegration between possible domestic determinants of crude oil futures prices during the COVID-19 pandemic period. We perform comparative analysis of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) and newly-launched Shanghai crude oil futures (SC) via the Quantile Autoregressive Distributed Lag (QARDL) model. The empirical results show the long- and short-run impacts of stock markets, interest rate, coronavirus panic and corn futures on WTI futures prices, while economic policy uncertainty is a driver for the long-run WTI price dynamics. However, the influence of stock market, interest rate and COVID-19 panic on SC is significant in the short term. There also exists short- and long-run positive responses of China's crude oil futures to corn prices. Overall, the impacts of domestic price drivers are heterogeneous across market circumstances (bullish, bearish and normal) and countries. Purpose: To assess site-related features of peri-implantitis occurring adjacent to teeth and its association with the proximal periodontal bone level. Materials and Methods: Periapical radiographs were collected from partially edentulous patients exhibiting peri-implantitis adjacent to teeth. The following variables were quantified: intrabony defect width (DW), implant marginal bone loss (MBLi), tooth marginal bone loss (MBLt), implant-tooth distance (ITd), intrabony defect angulation (DA), adjacent periodontal bone peak height (ABPh), and implant-tooth angulation (ITa). A correlation matrix using the Spearman correlation coefficient was created to explore the dependence of these variables. Univariate linear regression analysis was carried out by means of generalized estimating equations (GEE), using MBLt as dependent variable. Results: Overall, 61 patients and 84 implants were included in this study, consisting of a total of 105 implant sites facing adjacent teeth. This resulted in 515 linear and 194 angular measurements. A total of 11 different statistically significant associations were demonstrated between the different variables analyzed. Moreover, the univariate regression analysis revealed significant positive associations between MBLt and MBLi (P = .013) and between MBLt and periodontitis (PD) (P = .014). These associations were confirmed in the multivariate model. Conclusions: Teeth adjacent to untreated peri)implantitis lesions are associated with proximal loss of periodontal support. Purpose: To study the effect of BMP-2 on the volumetric and histometric changes in peri-implant defect treatments in animal models. Materials and Methods: An electronic search of four databases and a manual search of peer-reviewed journals for relevant articles were performed. Animal studies with data that compared the volumetric and/or histometric outcomes of peri-implant defect treatment with and without the use of BMP-2 were included. Meta-analyses were performed to analyze the weighted mean difference (WMD) and confidence interval (CI) for the recorded variables. Results: After completing the search process, 21 randomized controlled trials were included. The results of the metaanalyses showed that the WMD of bone-to-implant contact (%BIC) with 4 to 8 weeks and 12 to 24 weeks of follow-up was 15.50% (95% CI = 3.28% to 27.72%, P = .01) and 16.17% (95% CI = 11.17% to 21.16%, P < .00001), respectively, favoring the BMP-2 group. The WMD for the percentage of defect fill with 4 to 8 weeks and 12 to 24 weeks of follow-up was 15.88% (95% CI = 3.90% to 27.86%, P = .009) and 10.48% (95% CI = 0.95% to 20.02%, P = .03), respectively, favoring the BMP-2 group. The WMD for the vertical bone gain with 8 to 16 weeks of follow-up was 1.63 mm (95% CI = 0.58 to 2.67 mm, P = .002), also favoring the BMP-2 group. Conclusion: This review demonstrated that the use of BMP-2 in treating periimplant defects showed better clinical and histometric outcomes than defects not treated with BMP-2 in animal models. Powerful lasers hold promise for guiding streamer discharges in air, with applications ranging from plasma etching to lightning control. This paper numerically investigates the guidance of positive streamers by laser-produced pre-ionization (a uniform ionization trail consisting of free electron-ion pairs) in air with a 3D PIC/MCC model. Initially, the streamer grows toward the laser beam due to the electrostatic attraction caused by charge separation within the laser channel. As laser-produced electrons drift near the streamer, they trigger electron avalanches, forming a distinct "laser-produced streamer branch". This branch then propagates along the laser path, influenced by both electrostatic repulsion from the laser's positive ions and the guiding effect of the laser's electrons. By decoupling the impact of laser-produced pre-ionization on the electric field and free electron distribution, our simulations reveal that free electrons are the dominant factor for guiding. However, the electrostatic effect is enhanced at higher laser densities and can also guide the streamer individually. The formation of laser-guided streamers is primarily determined by whether laser-produced electrons can form a self-sustaining streamer branch. This process is highly dependent on the initial laser intensity and the electric field where the laser electrons connect with the streamer. Additionally, when the laser beam is positioned closer to the streamer, the effectiveness of laser guiding is significantly enhanced, and the number of streamer branches is greatly reduced. A novel acrylic monomer containing a nitrofuran motif, referred to as longchain nitrofuran methacrylate (LNFMA), is reported. In comparison to the previously reported nitrofuran methacrylate (NFMA), LNFMA has a longer side chain, and when incorporated into bone cement, the resulting LNFMA bone cement exhibits improved mechanical strength. At the same concentration, NFMA-5% cement has only 21.6 ± 1.3 MPa, while LNFMA-5% cement has a compressive strength of 42.64 ± 0.94 MPa. LNFMA bone cements exhibit antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, with LNFMA-30% cement reaching 57.38% ± 5.53%. Moreover, LNFMA cement demonstrates excellent biocompatibility both in vitro and in vivo. The results showed that LNFMA monomer had optimized mechanical strength compared with previously reported NFMA monomers, and LNFMA bone cement had good antibacterial activity and biocompatibility. Background: Lifestyle intervention is the first-line treatment for PCOS. Numerous studies have investigated the effect of various lifestyle factors, including dietary habit, smoking, and alcohol consumption on PCOS women. These studies have found that such factors may be associated with physiological parameters such as androgen, and emotional states like anxiety or depression. Smoking, a harmful lifestyle habit widely recognized to contribute to various diseases, has also been found to be related to PCOS. Current research has not adequately compared the effects of smoking with other lifestyle habits on PCOS, and there is little mention of its relationship with the emotional states of patients with PCOS. To further elucidate the association between smoking and other lifestyle factors with clinical symptoms in patients with PCOS, we conducted a cross-sectional evaluation using data from Peking University Third Hospital, with a special focus on analyzing smoking habits and comparing it with a variety of lifestyle factors. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 601 PCOS women and 184 healthy controls who underwent physical examinations, hormone profiles and psychological measures. We assessed the association between smoking and the clinical symptoms in PCOS women. Results: We found a significant correlation between smoking and the degree of depression in PCOS women among the three emotional states: anxiety, depression, and stress. Smoking was also significantly associated with testosterone level in PCOS participants, suggesting that PCOS women who smoke exhibited more severe depressive symptoms and higher testosterone level. In addition, compared to the control group, PCOS women had notably higher testosterone (T) and luteinizing hormone (LH) levels. Smoke and alcohol were statistically significantly more common in women with PCOS than the Control. Conclusion: Women with PCOS who smoke were found to have elevated testosterone levels and more severe depression. Objective: This study was to analyze the clinical outcomes and prognostic factors of dedifferentiated central chondrosarcomas (DCCS) in extremities. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 49 patients (27 males, 22 females) who underwent surgical treatment between January 2001 and March 2023 in our institution. All patients were diagnosed with dedifferentiated central chondrosarcomas by needle biopsy or postoperative histopathological examination. The general characters, treatment and clinical outcomes were recorded in the follow-up and all surgical-related complications that occurred were recorded in this study. Overall, these data were used to analyse the prognostic factors of DCCS. Results: 49 patients were included in this retrospective study and there were no patients lost in the follow-up period. The median diagnosis age of all patients was 57 years old (ranging from 17 to 87) and the median follow-up time was 34 months (range, 1-289). The average tumor size was 9.6 ± 2.4 cm (3.0-15.5). Median overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) were 34 and 23 months, respectively. The 1-year, 2-year, 5-year, and 10-year OS were 87.8% (95% CI 77.6%-98.0%), 71.4% (35/49), 28.6% (14/49) and 18.4% (9/49). And the 1-year, 2-year, 5-year, and 10-year PFS were 75.5% (95% CI 63.6%-87.4%), 49.0% (35/49), 26.5% (14/49) and 16.3% (9/49). Multiple variate analyses indicated metastasis, pathological fracture, Enneking staging and surgical margin were independent prognostic factors in extremity dedifferentiated central chondrosarcomas. Conclusions: Dedifferentiated central chondrosarcomas in extremities still had a grave prognosis. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), a noninvasive neuroregulatory technique used to treat neurodegenerative diseases, holds promise for spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) treatment, although its efficacy and mechanisms remain unclear. This study aims to observe the short-term impact of cerebellar rTMS on motor function in SCA3 patients and utilize resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (RS-fMRI) to assess potential therapeutic mechanisms. Twenty-two SCA3 patients were randomly assigned to receive actual rTMS (AC group, n = 11, three men and eight women; age 32–55 years) or sham rTMS (SH group, n = 11, three men and eight women; age 26–58 years). Both groups underwent cerebellar rTMS or sham rTMS daily for 15 days. The primary outcome measured was the ICARS scores and parameters for regional brain activity. Compared to baseline, ICARS scores decreased more significantly in the AC group than in the SH group after the 15-day intervention. Imaging indicators revealed increased Amplitude of Low Frequency Fluctuation (ALFF) values in the posterior cerebellar lobe and cerebellar tonsil following AC stimulation. This study suggests that rTMS enhances motor functions in SCA3 patients by modulating the excitability of specific brain regions and associated pathways, reinforcing the potential clinical utility of rTMS in SCA3 treatment. In this study, a difluorocarbene‐promoted O−O bond activation of peroxy acids is developed through the insertion of difluorocarbene into O−H bond. This activation strategy in synergy with O−B coordination with boronic acids/ester greatly polarizes the O−O bond for in‐situ generation of carboxylium species that reacts with the nucleophilic part of boronic acids in a concerted way to produce carboxylic esters. Good efficiency and functional group tolerance are demonstrated. Application of this method to the functionalization of a boronic acid drug used as HSL enzyme inhibitor produces smoothly the ester derivative. This difluorocarbene‐mediated O−O bond activation strategy is conceptually different from traditional radical type methods, and is also complementary to conventional esterification methods with a distinct retro‐synthetic disconnection. All-insulator heterostructures with an emerging metallicity are at the forefront of material science, which typically contain at least one band insulator while it is not necessary to be. Here we show emergent phenomena in a series of all-correlated-insulator heterostructures that composed of insulating CaIrO3 and insulating La0.67Sr0.33MnO3. We observed an intriguing insulator-to-metal transition, that depends delicately on the thickness of the iridate component. The simultaneous enhancements of magnetization, electric conductivity, and magnetoresistance effect indicate a percolation-type nature of the insulator-to-metal transition, with the percolation threshold can be reached at an exceptionally low volume fraction of the iridate. Such a drastic transition is induced by an interfacial charge transfer, which interestingly alters the electronic and crystalline structures of the bulk region rather than the limited ultrathin interface. We further showcased the central role of effective correlation in modulating the insulator-to-metal transition, by demonstrating that the critical thickness of iridate for triggering the metallic state can be systematically reduced down to a single unit-cell layer. Insulator-metal transitions driven by electronic correlations in oxide heterostructures have been widely studied, usually involving a correlated insulator and a band insulator. Background: Endogenous insulin supplementation is essential for individuals with type 1 diabetes (T1D). However, current treatments, including pancreas transplantation, insulin injections, and oral medications, have significant limitations. The development of engineered cells that can secrete endogenous insulin offers a promising new therapeutic strategy for type 1 diabetes (T1D). This approach could potentially circumvent autoimmune responses associated with the transplantation of differentiated b-cells or systemic delivery of viral vectors. Methods: We utilized CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing coupled with homologydirected repair (HDR) to precisely integrate a promoter-free EMCVIRES-insulin cassette into the 3' untranslated region (UTR) of the GAPDH gene in human HEK-293T cells. Subsequently quantified insulin expression levels in these engineered cells, the viability and functionality of the engineered cells when seeded on different cell vectors (GelMA and Cytopore I) were also assessed. Finally, we investigated the therapeutic potential of EMCVIRES-based insulin secretion circuits in reversing Hyperglycaemia in T1D mice. Result: Our results demonstrate that HDR-mediated gene editing successfully integrated the IRES-insulin loop into the genome of HEK-293T cells, a nonendocrine cell line, enabling the expression of human-derived insulin. Furthermore, Cytopore I microcarriers facilitated cell attachment and proliferation during in vitro culture and enhanced cell survival posttransplantation. Transplantation of these cell-laden microcarriers into mice led to the development of a stable, fat-encapsulated structure. This structure exhibited the expression of the platelet-endothelial cell adhesion molecule CD31, and no significant immune rejection was observed throughout the experiment. Diabetic mice that received the cell carriers reversed hyperglycemia, and blood glucose fluctuations under simulated feeding stimuli were very similar to those of healthy mice. Conclusion: In summary, our study demonstrates that Cytopore I microcarriers are biocompatible and promote long-term cell survival in vivo. The promoterfree EMCVIRES-insulin loop enables non-endocrine cells to secrete mature insulin, leading to a rapid reduction in glucose levels. We have presented a novel promoter-free genetic engineering strategy for insulin secretion and proposed an efficient cell transplantation method. The authors report a case of primary aldosteronism (PA) with postoperative elevation of aldosterone treated effectively by finerenone. The patient was a hypertensive man with a 30‐year history of hypertension and sustained an acute myocardial infarction 5 years ago. Bilateral adrenal nodules with hyperplasia were detected and PA was confirmed. His blood potassium, direct renin concentration, and aldosterone level returned to normal after surgery of right adrenalectomy. However, 1 year after surgery, he experienced a decrease in blood potassium and an increase in aldosterone. A saline infusion test revealed an aldosterone level of 124.47 pg/mL. The patient consented to treatment with finerenone. His aldosterone and potassium levels and blood pressure have been controlled well during follow‐up. This case highlights the need to screen for secondary hypertension as early as possible. Euphorbia dentata Michx. is an invasive plant species in China, known for its toxicity and potential to reduce crop yields, posing numerous threats. To gain a deeper understanding of this invasive plant, phytochemical methods were employed to isolate 13 terpenoids (1–11, 19, 20) and 7 sterols (12–18) from the ethanol extract of E. dentata, identifying one new compound and 19 known compounds. Within spectroscopic methods such as NMR, HR-ESI-MS, and ECD, the structures and absolute configurations of these compounds were established. Among them, dentatacid A (11) possesses an unprecedented 2, 3-seco-arbor-2, 3-dioic skeleton within the potential biosynthetic pathway proposed. Dentatacid A also exhibited excellent anti-proliferative activity against the HT-29 (human colorectal adenocarcinoma) cell line, with an IC50 value of 2.64 ± 0.78 μM, which was further confirmed through network pharmacology and molecular docking. This study significantly expands the chemical diversity of E. dentata and offers new insights into the resource utilization and management of this invasive plant from the perspective of natural product discovery. In this paper, we demonstrated experimentally a lateral GaN-based junction field effect transistor (JFET). A selective area regrowth of p-NiO on the as-grown n-GaN channel layer was developed by magnetron sputtering at room temperature to form the p–n junction. A self-aligned gate process and a post metal annealing process were employed to improve the device performances. The measured results show that the annealed JFET exhibits an ON/OFF ratio exceeding 106 and a higher breakdown voltage up to 814 V without any terminal structure. The breakdown voltage is determined by the reverse breakdown of parasitic PN junction between gate and drain. Further, the threshold voltage of the p-NiO/n-GaN JFET exhibits excellent temperature stability in the range of 300–500 K. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) can occur in patients with atherosclerotic disease, with or without plaque rupture. Previous studies have indicated a set of immune responses to plaque rupture. However, the specific circulating immune cell subsets that mediate inflammatory plaque rupture remain elusive. Methods: Ten AMI patients were enrolled in our study (five with and five without plaque rupture; plaque characteristics were identified by optical coherence tomography). By single-cell RNA sequencing, we analyzed the transcriptomic profile of peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Results: We identified 27 cell clusters among 82,550 cells, including monocytes, T cells, NK cells, B cells, megakaryocytes, and CD34+ cells. Classical and non-classical monocytes constitute the major inflammatory cell types, and pro-inflammatory genes such as CCL5, TLR7, and CX3CR1 were significantly upregulated in patients with plaque rupture, while the neutrophil activation and degranulation genes FPR2, MMP9, and CLEC4D were significantly expressed in the intermediate monocytes derived from patients without plaque rupture. We also found that CD4+ effector T cells may contribute to plaque rupture by producing a range of cytokines and inflammatory-related chemokines, while CD8+ effector T cells express more effector molecules in patients without plaque rupture, such as GZMB, GNLY, and PRF1, which may contribute to the progress of plaque erosion. Additionally, NK and B cells played a significant role in activating inflammatory cells and promoting chemokine production in the plaque rupture. Cell--cell communication elaborated characteristics in signaling pathways dominated by inflammatory activation of classical monocytes in patients with plaque rupture. Conclusions: Our studies demonstrate that the circulating immune cells of patients with plaque rupture exhibit highly pro-inflammatory characteristics, while plaque erosion is mainly associated with intermediate monocyte amplification, neutrophil activation, and degranulation. The introduction of anti-tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) biologics significantly innovated inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) treatment and increased medical costs. The recent expiration of patents of some anti-TNFα biologics (such as infliximab and adalimumab) facilitated the development of biosimilars. Comparable pharmacokinetic, efficacy, safety, and immunogenicity profiles between anti-TNFα originators and biosimilars were demonstrated in different studies. Anti-TNFα biosimilars hold promise for reducing the high cost of biologics and increasing patient access to biologics. In this review, we outline the current data on the use of anti-TNFα originators and biosimilars in patients with IBD, with a focus on the efficacy, safety, and immunogenicity profiles of infliximab and adalimumab biosimilars. This research introduces a hydrogen sensor made from a thin film of magnesium zinc oxide (MgZnO) deposited using a technique called radiofrequency co-sputtering (RF co-sputtering). Separate magnesium oxide (MgO) and zinc oxide (ZnO) targets were used to deposit the MgZnO film, experimenting with different deposition times and power levels. The sensor performed best (reaching a sensing response of 2.46) when exposed to hydrogen at a concentration of 1000 parts per million (ppm). This peak performance occurred with a MgZnO film thickness of 432 nanometers (nm) at a temperature of 300 °C. Initially, the sensor's responsiveness increased as the film thickness grew. This is because thicker films tend to have more oxygen vacancies, which are imperfections that play a role in the sensor's function. However, further increases in film thickness beyond the optimal point harmed performance. This is attributed to the growth of grains within the film, which hindered its effectiveness. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) were employed to thoroughly characterize the quality of the MgZnO thin film. These techniques provided valuable insights into the film's crystal structure and morphology, crucial factors influencing its performance as a hydrogen sensor. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Consumer showrooming has become a common phenomenon in the retail industry, but little is known about its influence on the interplay between an upstream supplier and a downstream retailer in a distribution channel. Our study examines such an influence by considering an upstream supplier who sells a product through a downstream physical retailer based on a wholesale contract. At the same time, based on an agency contract, the supplier sells the product on an online retail platform where a nonneglectable amount of consumer returns occurs due to product misfits. We find that, on the one hand, consumer showrooming enables the supplier to take a greater share of the offline channel profit by exploiting the physical retailer's deterrence of showrooming. On the other hand, consumer showrooming as a mixed-channel shopping method makes the supplier less capable of adjusting the direct online demand according to its marginal cost of handling returns. Such a return-loss-propagation-moderating effect protects the downstream physical retailer from the upstream supplier's strategic pricing that intends to shift sales from offline to direct online when the supplier finds it cost efficient to handle online product returns. Our study also shows that the retailer can replace the wholesale contract with the store-within-a-store model with a rental fee contract to leverage the upstream supplier's incentive to mitigate the adverse effect of showrooming. The findings inform the physical retailer that the more critical issue may not be showrooming itself but aligning with the upstream supplier to promote offline sales in the presence of showrooming. Competing risks data arise when occurrence of an event hinders observation of other types of events, and they are encountered in various research areas including biomedical research. These data have been usually analyzed using the hazard-based models, not survival times themselves. In this paper, we propose a joint accelerated failure time (AFT) modeling approach to model clustered competing risks data. Times to competing events are assumed to be log-linear with normal errors and correlated through a scaled random effect that follows a zero-mean normal distribution. Inference on the model parameters is based on the h-likelihood. Performance of the proposed method is evaluated through extensive simulation studies. The simulation results show that the estimated regression parameters are robust against the violation of the assumed parametric distributions. In this paper, we systematically investigate the general dark matter-electron interactions within the framework of effective field theories (EFTs). We consider both the non-relativistic (NR) EFT and the relativistic EFT descriptions of the interactions with the spin of dark matter (DM) up to one, i.e., the scalar (ϕ), fermion (χ), and vector (X) DM scenarios. We first collect the leading-order NR EFT operators describing the DM-electron interactions, and construct especially the NR operators for the vector DM case. Next, we consider all possible leading-order relativistic EFT operators including those with a photon field and perform the NR reduction to match them onto the NR EFT. Then we rederive the DM-bound-electron scattering rate within the NR EFT framework and find that the matrix element squared, which is the key input that encodes the DM and atomic information, can be compactly decomposed into three terms. Each term is a product of a DM response function (a0,1,2), which is essentially a factor of Wilson coefficients squared, and its corresponding generalized atomic response function W ~ 0 , 1 , 2 . Lastly, we employ the electron recoil data from the DM direct detection experiments (including XENON10, XENON1T, and PandaX-4T) to constrain all the non-relativistic and relativistic operators in all three DM scenarios. We set strong bounds on the DM-electron interactions in the sub-GeV region. Particularly, we find that the latest PandaX-4T S2-only data provide stringent constraints on dark matter with a mass greater than approximately 20 MeV, surpassing those from the previous XENON10 and XENON1T experiments. We discuss heavy particles that can be used to pin down the faithful Standard Model (SM) gauge group and their patterns in the SM effective field theory (SMEFT). These heavy particles are not invariant under a specific ℤ6 subgroup of SU(3)c × SU(2)L × U(1)Y, which however acts trivially on all the SM particles, hence the faithful SM gauge group remains undetermined. Different realizations of the faithful SM gauge group correspond to different spectra of heavy particles, and they also correspond to distinct sets of line operators with one-form global symmetry acting on them. We show that the heavy particles not invariant under the ℤ6 group cannot appear in tree-level ultraviolet completions of SMEFT, this enforces us to consider one-loop UV completions of SMEFT to identify the ℤ6 non-invariant heavy particles. We demonstrate with examples that correlations between Wilson coefficients provide an efficient way to examine models with ℤ6 non-invariant heavy particles. Finally, we prove that all the scalars that can trigger electroweak symmetry breaking must be invariant under the ℤ6 group, hence they cannot be used to probe the faithful SM gauge group. In the past 40 years, the gradually increasing incidence and mortality rates of malignant tumors have severely impacted the quality of life of patients, bringing significant physical and psychological burdens and becoming an increasingly serious social issue. With the development of medical standards, new methods for cancer detection and treatment have been continuously proposed. Although it has been proven that cancer is related to increased psychological burden and suicidal behaviors in patients, current research on the psychological burden caused by cancer is insufficient. Clinicians often overlook the psychological health issues of patients while treating their physical diseases. Considering the high incidence of cancer, this review will outline the psychological burdens of cancer patients worldwide in recent years and its high-risk factors. Moreover, this review will summarize the common methods for evaluating psychological burdens, present current predictive models and treatment methods for the psychological burden of cancer patients, aiming to provide a research basis and future direction for the timely and accurate assessment of the psychological burden in cancer patients. Background: Studies suggest that both depression and disrupted sleep disturbance are linked to cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, the precise role of sleep disturbance in the connection between depression and CVD is poorly understood. Therefore, we sought to examine the associations among these factors and further explore the mediating role of sleep disturbance in the association between depression and CVD. Methods: This study included data from 29,831 adults (=20 years old). Multifactorial logistic regression analyses were conducted to examine the relationships among depression, sleep disturbance, and CVD. Additionally, bootstrap tests were used to investigate whether the association between depression and CVD was mediated by sleep disturbance. Results: Our research showed that individuals who experienced depression or sleep disturbance had a notably greater likelihood of developing CVD than those who did not have these issues (depression: OR: 2.21, 95% CI=1.96-2.49; sleep disturbance: OR: 1.74, 95% CI=1.6-1.9). Even after adjusting for potential confounders, depression was still positively associated with the risk of sleep disturbance (OR: 4.07, 95% CI=3.73-4.44). Furthermore, sleep disturbance significantly mediated the association between depression and CVD, with a mediating effect of 18.1%. Conclusion: Our study demonstrated that depression, sleep disturbance, and CVD are interrelated. The increased risk of CVD among patients with depression may be attributed to the mediating role of sleep disturbance. Endothelial hyperpermeability is pivotal in sepsis-associated multi-organ dysfunction. Increased von Willebrand factor (vWF) plasma levels, stemming from activated platelets and endothelium injury during sepsis, can bind to integrin αvβ3, exacerbating endothelial permeability. Hence, targeting this pathway presents a potential therapeutic avenue for sepsis. Recently, we identified isaridin E (ISE), a marine-derived fungal cyclohexadepsipeptide, as a promising antiplatelet and antithrombotic agent with a low bleeding risk. ISE's influence on septic mortality and sepsis-induced lung injury in a mouse model of sepsis, induced by caecal ligation and puncture, is investigated in this study. ISE dose-dependently improved survival rates, mitigating lung injury, thrombocytopenia, pulmonary endothelial permeability, and vascular inflammation in the mouse model. ISE markedly curtailed vWF release from activated platelets in septic mice by suppressing vesicle-associated membrane protein 8 and soluble N-ethylmaleide-sensitive factor attachment protein 23 overexpression. Moreover, ISE inhibited healthy human platelet adhesion to cultured lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs), thereby significantly decreasing vWF secretion and endothelial hyperpermeability. Using cilengitide, a selective integrin αvβ3 inhibitor, it was found that ISE can improve endothelial hyperpermeability by inhibiting vWF binding to αvβ3. Activation of the integrin αvβ3-FAK/Src pathway likely underlies vWF-induced endothelial dysfunction in sepsis. Troponin T1 (TNNT1) plays a crucial role in muscle contraction but its role in cancer, particularly in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), is not well‐understood. This study explores the expression, clinical significance and biological functions of TNNT1 in various cancers, with an emphasis on its involvement in KIRC. We analysed TNNT1 expression in cancers using databases like TCGA and GTEx, assessing its prognostic value, mutation patterns, methylation status and functional implications. The study also examined TNNT1's effect on the tumour microenvironment and drug sensitivity in KIRC, complemented by in vitro TNNT1 knockdown experiments in KIRC cells. TNNT1 is overexpressed in several cancers and linked to adverse outcomes, showing frequent upregulation mutations and abnormal methylation. Functionally, TNNT1 connects to muscle and cancer pathways, affects immune infiltration and drug responses, and its overexpression in KIRC is associated with advanced disease and reduced survival. Knocking down TNNT1 curbed KIRC cell growth. TNNT1's aberrant expression plays a significant role in tumorigenesis and immune modulation, highlighting its value as a prognostic biomarker and a potential therapeutic target in KIRC and other cancers.
