Climate change, global warming, greenhouse gas emissions, and many other reasons have motivated countries worldwide to change energy systems to move toward low-carbon energy systems; however, the low-carbon energy transition has faced many challenges that motivate the present study to identify the challenges and evaluate the performance of the EU according to challenges. To this end, seventeen challenges were identified through a systematic literature review and classified into five groups: economic, institutional, technical, social, and environmental. Subsequently, fifty-three indicators were selected to measure the performance of the EU in dealing with challenges. Furthermore, a Fermatean "Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis" method was applied to determine the subjective weight of identified challenges, while the method based on the removal effects of criteria was applied to determine the objective weight of selected indicators. Afterward, the "Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution" method was applied to evaluate the performance of the EU in dealing with the challenges of the low-carbon energy transition for 2015 and 2020. The results indicated that energy justice, mitigation costs, land use, and lack of infrastructure are the most significant social, economic, environmental, institutional, and technical challenges. Also, the Netherlands had the best performance in 2015, followed by Germany; in contrast, Germany improved its energy system and took first place in 2020. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become crucial to businesses seeking to adopt sustainable development. However, there are several challenges to CSR adoption for sustainability that the present research aims to identify and evaluate, in addition to assessing the EU's response to these challenges. To this end, a novel picture fuzzy SWARA‐TOPSIS method is proposed to rank EU countries after identifying the challenges that they face through a literature review. The results indicate that out of eight identified challenges, "Leadership Mindset and Corporate Commitment" is the most significant issue to CSR adoption for sustainability. Additionally, Italy shows the best performance in adopting CSR for sustainability, while Malta shows the worst. These results are discussed, and policy implications are presented. Energy Union aims to provide clean, secure, and affordable energy for many customers leading societies towards sustainable energy development. Several criteria were introduced in this vein to evaluate the twenty-third EU countries' progress towards energy union goals. The present study proposed and applied a SWARA-TOPSIS framework based on Pythagorean fuzzy sets to rank the EU members considering their sustainable energy development progress. Ten experts working in various fields were selected to support the identified criteria, and a sensitivity analysis based on twenty scenarios was performed to evaluate the proposed model's sensitivity to weight changes. The obtained results indicated that "energy affordability" is the most influential criterion for evaluating countries, and the proposed model is sensitive to weight changes. Luxembourg is also the first-ranked country, followed by Denmark and Sweden, while Bulgaria achieved the worst rank among the EU considering its progress towards the energy union goals. The analysis of the results indicates room for improvement in implementation with the European Union goals by the EU members and the need to consider energy justice and affordability in the policy development, especially in the new members of the EU. Purpose: Dynamic capabilities (DCs) help media firms adapt to rapidly changing environments. The purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive literature review of studies of DCs in strategic management research with a view to understanding its implications for the management of media organizations. Essentially, it fertilizes on the idea that the concept of DC is useful and vital for answering various critical questions regarding the challenges that media organizations are currently facing. Design/methodology/approach: This study builds on a systematic literature reviewing design as the research methodology. It aims to identify, critically evaluate, and integrate factors, dimensions, and findings on studies of DCs in strategic management research and builds knowledge transfers to the field of strategic management research in the media industry. Findings: The study shows that the DC framework helps media firms effectively respond to changing environments. The conceptual DC framework has implications for media strategy practice. Results indicate a considerable growth in the number of papers published related to the DCs in media organizations from 2003 to 2018. Originality/value: The study qualifies the relevance and validity of the DC framework in strategic management research for the field of strategic media management. Performance measurement plays an important role in the successful design and reform of regional healthcare management systems. In this study, we propose a hybrid data envelopment analysis (DEA) and game theory model for measuring the performance and productivity in the healthcare centers. The input and output variables associated with the efficiency of the healthcare centers are identified by reviewing the relevant literature, and then used in conjunction with the internal organizational data. The selected indicators and collected data are then weighted and prioritized with the help of experts in the field. A case study is presented to demonstrate the applicability and efficacy of the proposed model. Many challenges should be tackled in transitioning to a low-carbon energy system, motivating many researchers to study these challenges. In this context, the present study aims to identify challenges through a systematic literature review of studies published between 2006 and 2023 to propose a comprehensive framework of challenges. To this end, the PICOC framework was applied to set the research scope properly; and an integrated method called PSALSAR protocol was used to find, evaluate, and review publications published in Scopus and the Web of Science. As a result, 123 articles were reviewed, and seventeen challenges were identified and classified into five social, economic, environmental, technical, and institutional challenges. Results indicated that international agreements on climate change could boost the number of studies on the low-carbon energy transition. Also, it is indicated that researchers applied qualitative methods more in earlier studies, and methods and topics have become more profound over the years. • A novel framework of challenges to the low-carbon energy transition is proposed by reviewing 123 articles. • Seventeen challenges to low carbon energy transition were identified, discussed, and classified into social, economic, environmental, technical, and institutional challenges. • The number of publications on the low-carbon energy transition has increased dramatically since 2016 as the Paris Agreement was adopted. • A research agenda is proposed based on recommendations for future studies in reviewed articles. Manufacturing companies are under constant pressure to optimize the economic sustainability of their production systems. Production planning and optimization is a well-established strategy for considering resource constraints and improving economic productivity. This study proposes an integrated fuzzy goal planning and the theory of constraints for production planning and optimization. To this end, a hybrid Delphi–Buckley method was used to identify the relevant goals and a paired matrix questionnaire was used to determine the fuzzy weights of the goals. Furthermore, a fuzzy bottleneck detection algorithm was used to deal with the bottlenecks. A case study in the cable industry is presented to demonstrate the applicability and exhibit the efficiency of the proposed model. The results indicate that production planning in the cable industry could experience less deviation, almost 11% less, from the goals by applying the fuzzy goal programming under the theory of constraints, compared to the traditional method or crisp-goal programming. Decision and policymakers are looking at the potential of Industry 4.0 smart technologies to create a green economy as the European Commission aims to deliver the European Green Deal by rethinking policies for clean energy supply. Industry 4.0 will eventually be applied to all aspects of life; however, it is necessary to identify the challenges to the adoption of Industry 4.0 for a sustainable digital transformation. In this vein, the present study aims to identify the challenges to the adoption of Industry 4.0 in fintech companies and to develop a novel Fermatean fuzzy CRITIC-COPRAS method to rank the identified challenges and evaluate the performance of companies concerning the weighted challenges based on three decision experts' support. The results indicated that "difficulty in coordination and collaboration" is the most significant challenge to the adoption of Industry 4.0 out of the fourteen identified challenges, followed by "resistance to change" and "governmental support."
